King Magnifico Backstory Part 3

Part 2

On the Princesses 18th birthday, a strange messenger came to the castle, with a desperate plea.

"Princess Maroula, my mistress, the Keeper of the Wishing Stars, who granted both you and your father life, needs your aid. There is a quest that only one such as you can fulfill. A dangerous quest but a necessary one for the good of all people within this world and the EverRealm. She has done what she can herself, but her gaze is stretched thin by her obligations. We ask that you leave as soon as possible, if you are willing to come and aid us.”

And the princess, always kind of heart, and remembering the conversation in the garden all those years ago was willing

But her father was not.

“How dare your mistress ask this dangerous task of my daughter! She knows the perils that exist in that realm, that befell me. She did nothing to aid me in my troubles, why should she ask to place my daughter in peril now?”

“The Blue Lady is young, in the way of her people, she had only recently taken over this charge when your misfortunes befell you, and she has sorrowed over them ever since. She granted you your daughter in part as penance for that failure. But still she has her duties, and she has foreseen a threat that only as deeply linked to Wishes as Maroula is can combat. Would you see an entire realm suffer for what was done to you?”

Maroula knew the anger born from his past heartache, which her father usually tried to keep under control, beginning to rise, and tried to sooth him

“Father, I am willing to go. You and Mother have taught me well in both the use of magic and the need to be generous in helping others. Please, let me go and help the Lady. How can I call myself a princess of Rosas and not do so?”

“No Maroula!” The King cried, his fear for his daughter and anger getting the best of him. “I won’t allow it! What right has this fairy to grant my greatest wish, give our happiness tangibility and then take it away!”

“She’s not taking me away Father, she’s only asking that I—“

“Enough!”

The king turned and dismissed the messenger coldly from his sight, demanding that it never return, for his daughter would not be going to the other realm, now or ever.

“That choice is the Princess Maroula’s.” The messenger said as it left, unfazed by the king’s anger. “She is a woman grown now, able to make her own choices, even if they are not what you would choose for her. If she wishes to go, then she may go”

“Then I shall insure she cannot!”

And with that, the king used his magics to open up a room, deep deep beneath the castle, a room he had discovered upon taking claim of the castle, (a room where he had found a dangerous and deceptive tome of magic). Here he wove about with his spells and enchantments so that he was sure no star’s light could find his daughter.

“I don’t wish to leave you here Maroula, but I must keep you safe, at all costs. Let that other place deal with its own problems. You will stay here until you’ve learned to see sense”

And so the king left his daughter crying in the dark, as his gentle queen cried in the palace above, torn between supporting her husband in keeping their daughter safe from unknown danger, and supporting her daughter’s generous wish to help

What neither realized, is that there was one small opening within the dungeon, a keyhole that the king had failed to account for, a keyhole through which a single thin strain of starlight came through and found the weeping princess. The princess beheld the light, and taking the power within her, she wished upon the star

And the star answered

But what came after for Princess Maroula is a story for another time…

The king and queen sought day and night for their daughter, but even with all his powers, either the power of the Lady of the Wishing Stars was greater, or Maroula was using her own to avoid her father’s search. Even his wishing her back did nothing. And so the king and queen fell into despair, knowing their daughter was lost forever.

Is this the thanks I get for granting everyone else’s wishes all these years? To have my own daughter run from me? I’ve cared for her from the day she was born, given her everything and and she still decides to defy and disrespect me with this rebellion?!”

At last, the king, letting his anger over this perceived betrayal overcome his grief, decided that they could no longer go on as they had, and so he crafted a spell that would enable them to move forward

He asked his wife to give to him her wish for their daughter’s return, gifting it to him to hold onto until it could be granted. And as Amaya gave him her wish, trusting that one day it would come true—the memory of her daughter left her entirely, along with the grief of her loss. Letting her forget without the weight of regret…

From then on, the king utilized this spell whenever it came time to grant his people’s wishes, holding on to them in perpetuity, instead of granting them on sight. Having lost the love of his daughter, he tried to substitute it with the love he felt imbibed in each wish as he guarded them, keeping them safe as he couldn’t protect her. Each person who gave him their wish forgot it, and so Magnifico intended to ensure that not only would no unworthy wish be granted, but no wish would lead to the heartbreak he had suffered

Despite his anger at his daughter, over the years he took many other apprentices, seeking to fill the void she had left, even granting their and their families wishes when he usually would have declined to—but none of them ever filled the place of his beloved Maroula.

And as the years passed, his anger over her loss, the heartbreak of his past, and his frustration over watching everyone’s wishes be granted but his own began to harden the king’s heart, and a darkness grew beneath his pristine exterior, waiting for the day until he felt threatened enough in his power and control to break loose…

I am convinced that not only Princess Emma and Pinocchio had an affair in the Wish Verse but he is also the real father of Henry in that universe, with Bae being a nice tragic story made up by Charmings because they wouldn't have their daughter marry a wood carver ( to be quite honest, it is preferable for her to not marry at all, since then she could get ideas about becoming independent and/or the Queen and that they can't have ).

And so Pinocchio became a toy maker to have some semblance of closeness to Emma and his kid.

And he will always blame himself for not being brave enough to go against Charmings and marry Emma.

Also, Wish Charmings are not good people. There are lots of things in those two eps that hint at that.

⬦ Romeo is probably the sweetest, nicest guy you'll ever met. He may be a little shy at first when he sees you, absolutely enchanted by you. But with time, the shyness goes away

⬦ He gets smitten with you pretty quickly and really wants to spend time with you, Carlo obviously notices and can't stop teasing his best friend. After all, it's rather adorable seeing Romeo running after you like that

 ⬦ He obviously doesn't have much money, so he can't get you on any fancy dates, but taking you to buy some ice cream, go on a walk in the park, take you to a festival are a must. He’ll definitely try to hold your hand to if you let him

⬦ Every single time, Romeo insist on walking you home. He wants to make sure nothing bad happens to you, even if he knows puppets are patronizing the city. He himself needs to make sure you got home safe

⬦ From time to time, he might try to visit you during the night time, with your consent of course. Escaping from Monad Charity House during the night might not be the easiest task, but he will do it just for you! And Carlo will make sure no one notices his friend's disappearance

⬦ Confessing might bring back his shy side a little bit. After all, he is confessing his feelings to you, so he has every right to feel a little nervous

⬦ Romeo is a very gentle guy. He likes having you close, holding your hand, giving you a few kisses and hugs. And he enjoys cuddling with you too!

⬦ If you're interested, he will take some of his time to teach you how to use a sword and in general how to protect yourself if you don't already know how. He knows he can't be with you 24/7 to protect you if anything happens, so he would rather try his best to teach you anything useful so you can protect yourself when the time comes

⬦ Not everything is sunshine and rainbows forever. When he gets the disease, no matter how much he loves you, he will distance himself, worried you might get the disease from him. And he cannot bear a thought of you dying because of him

⬦ Before you completely lose contact with him, he sends you a letter. Apologizing for the fact that he cannot meet with you anymore, for what he believes is your own safety. He explains that he is worried for you and wants what's the best for you. He feels like a jackass, leaving you like that, but he believes he has no choice

⬦ After that, you completely lost contact with him. He doesn't answer your letter and you worry he might have died from the disease. And yet, there is no information about his death. No-one knows what has happened to him. One day he just left after Carlo's death and didn't come back

⬦ You wanted to search from him, but the puppet frenzy happens and there's not much you can do. You only hope that if your dearest Romeo passed away, it wasn't because of the puppets

⬦ You find yourself a shelter in the Hotel Krat where you meet Geppetto's puppet, that looks almost like Carlo, but you have decided not to comment. You only ask him to look for your lover. And if he sees anything, you want him to let you know. At the time, you already believe that Romeo is dead, but you still wish to know what happened.

⬦ It's not too long until Pinocchio comes back with a letter for you. And as you open it, it hits you like a train when you see a familiar handwriting, realizing it's Romeo. 

⬦ In the letter he begs for you to stay in the safety of the Hotel. He expresses his gratitude once finding out you're alive and well. But as always, your safety matters the most for him. He doesn't tell you where he is, not what is going on with him. He says that he will reach out to you on his own if possible. He explains that he is now safe and is doing okay

⬦ For now that was the only thing you knew and you were glad to know he was safe. Yet, you couldn't help but worry what happened. He had a disease, didn't he? With all respect given, he should be dead by now. So how is he writing to you?

⬦ You can't help but write back, Pinocchio being your delivery man. You express how glad you are to find out he's out there alive and well. And you promise to wait patiently for any news from him

⬦ As the time passes and you wait, one night, Geppetto's puppet takes you to the Estella Opera House. He makes sure you're safe from any danger as he takes you there and thanks to the existence of the stargazers, he can take you there without much problems

⬦ And that's where you see him. Your Romeo. Even as a puppet he looks tired. Even if his face is rather expressionless, you can see he is happy to see you. He kneels before you to hug you. He cannot communicate with you, unfortunately. Every word he says is inadible for you, but you are more than sure he is just as happy to see you as you are to see him

⬦ After you explain the situation, you try to get him to go to the Hotel with you, you want him back and you believe Venigni might be able to help him and that he will be able to communicate with you

⬦ He doesn't agree outright, worried that his presence at the Hotel might cause distress and trouble. But when he agrees, he patiently let's Venigni work on him, in hope he can do anything in his power to help him communicate better with you. And upon his arrival, Geppetto disappeared from the Hotel

⬦ And then it happens, no more letters or inaudible sounds. You can finally hear the voice you haven't heard in years, the only difference being that he sound metallic, but you do not mind one bit

⬦ In private he explains everything. He apologizes for leaving you, for distancing himself. He explains what has happened to him, what he has been doing since the frenzy and why he is doing so. He knows that with help Geppetto's puppet, or how he prefers to call him Carlo, all of this will end

⬦ And with something of a kiss your knuckles, he promises to come back to you once it is all over.

⬦ Him and Carlo go on, taking the enemies together, finishing it all and with a broken heart, helping Carlo fight Geppetto and his creation

⬦ After that, like promised, he comes back to you and promise to not leave you like that ever again. He wishes he could change the past, but still expresses gratitude for being able to be with you again. And like Carlo did, he wishes to be human again. To able to feel the warmth of your skin, be able to kiss you like he used to and hold you without worrying that he might hurt you

Lies of P

Pinocchio own headcanons.

• I kind of imagine that P is a very curious puppet (like a player in game exploring) and he would always bring something back to the hotel Krat after mission and Gepetto would see his son piling up things on his table. A broken doll in a red dress. A small piece of screw that shines so brightly like it was newly made. A cowboy hat which Gepetto wonders where did he get it and small few jewels which resembles Gemini's color and his eyes. However, P has been collecting so many things and piling it up on Gepetto's table, forced the old man to get a chest for P to put his treasure (mostly junks) inside.

• P doesn't seem to talk in game but characters in game acts as if so I think, P doesn't usually talk. He only talks when spoken too like an actual puppet with corresponding lines but P can make his own replies and he chooses a word or sentence that would only be a brief response. Gemini once tried to make the boy talk more than he usually does by striking conversation and question but it seems like P got annoyed that he eventually ignored Gemini for the whole mission (still listening to Gemini at least)

• despite he had fought big monsters and big hostile machines, P is afraid of cats at first. When he was curious and tried to touch the feline, it launched its claws to his hand and hissed which caused him to startle. Confused and unable to comprehend what happened, it feared the small creature temporarily as Eugene showed him that cats aren't terrifying creature. Although sensitive, cats are surprisingly affectionate in their own way. But he wishes that the cats would at least trust him and let him touch their soft fur.

• P is fascinated by his own limbs. How it bends and straighten. How his arms are able to move in rotation motion and how his fingers folds in a curl. Gemini taught him how to make a heart but unable to understand as it is not the shape of a heart (he thought literal shape of a heart) and Gemini had to go through explaining him how it is a heart. Then Gepetto gave P a show where he'd use shadow of his hands to imitate the silhouettes of animals. P was amused.

• P purrs. Or so what it sounds like. His springs inside make a sound when he feels pleasant, comfortable at certain someone or simply enjoying the pat on the head from Gepetto. They thought that spring sound is only natural but they don't mostly hear it when P feels neutral till Sophia noticed how the springs started to shift inside him when Sophia and P sat down together to enjoy the rain at the garden.

"Oh my, you sound like you're purring, oh clever one" and then smiled. P doesn't know what it means but kept quiet as the spring sound continues. Sophia thinks that he must have gotten it from the cats as he observed them without touching.

As for P's situation, he does feel warm inside or what he would try to describe it as best as he can. He also feel a small vibration inside. Only vibration and nothing else that is worrying so he lets it without telling Gepetto or Eugene.

• Puppets don't need rest however, P started to like his leisure time. He have no mission? He would stay in Hotel Krat and sit down simply and enjoy the structure of the interior. He would explore the Hotel and look at the painting. Check some corridors he hadn't seen yet. He would also look at the cats. Sits in front of them and simply observe them with a small smile which Eugene found adorable feature from the puppet.

After a mission, he wouldn't go back to the Hotel Krat immediately. He will take his time to go back there. Walking in the alley, roadside, other paths and trying to picture the place before the puppet frenzy had happened. He would ask Gemini about the buildings and structures about what it used to be.

• Missions can get P really dirty. He don't sweat but the muds and dirty water can get to his boots, clothes and skin including his hair so whenever he gets back to the hotel Krat, he is adviced by Gemini to go straight to bath immediately.

P can also feel temperature and he likes the coldness of the clean water. He would always let the cold water run and get into the tub willingly. Gepetto had once reminded P not to use too cold water and don't stay too long there to protect his P-organs from freezing. But P can be act like a child still and insists on using even colder temperature to test how he can go on until it actually happens. Almost freezing his P-organs and thanks to Gemini to call out for Gepetto which saved P from freezing all over.

P got a lot of scolding from Gepetto and after that incident, Gepetto would check on him if his staying longer in bath and sometimes would come in and help P to wash his hair thoroughly from the dirt that is in blindspots.

Headcanon and Theories #10: Cedar Wood

Pinocchio destiny also has it to where the character would become the next Geppetto. When Cedar would build her kid, her father would become Geppetto, just like how Cedar’s Geppetto once was a Pinocchio.

Cedar didn’t grow into her body, she was built with the intention of being a Highschool girl. Her mind though did develop at a normal rate from infancy to modern.

Cedar’s body can come apart and while it doesn’t actually leave any physical damage (as long as the parts are intact) her body would mentally tell her what kind of pain she would experience. So it is all real despite the pain isn’t.

While Cedar doesn’t have to eat, she can. Her body doesn’t digest food as anything she eats would degrade in her empty shell of a stomach to become nutrients. Her foam toughness can tell her what food taste like and what the texture is, but it is still tasteless for her.

Cedar tried to be friends with everyone in her small village, but her curse to speak truth always got the best of her in a way that children wanted nothing to do with her. She would invite everyone to her birthday party, but no one would ever show up despite the fact that she would make sure she had enough cake for everyone.

Cedar has fears about is to come of her future. She wants to be human, but she worries that if the person she would become would different than who she was now. She worries if she would simply cease to be and be someone else.

She worries if she is even alive. She is merely a piece of wood that is moved around by the magic of a wishing Star. In her mind, she wonders if she is no different than the hand puppets from children shows

Believe me, I already saw the concept art of Star as a boy, but that just never set right to me.

Wish is supposed to be the origin story of the Wishing Star. The problem is that in the last two times the Wishing Star had plot relevancy in Disney canon, the Wishing Star was female.

She was the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio, and Evangeline in the Princess and the Frog. To this very day I call the Blue Fairy Evangeline because of that.

In my headcanon, the Star in Wish is a baby star, that's why they are so curious and mischievous. But eventually, as people begin to wish more and more on stars, the Star will take human form, and become the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, and Evangeline from Princess and the Frog.

Essentially Star will evolve into the Blue Fairy, and she will become the highest authority in good magic in the Disney universe, guiding people and protecting their dreams and wishes from dark magic.

"But what about my ship? Who am I supposed to ship Asha with?"

Make it a lesbian ship, dummy. It will make Disney even more uncomfortable 😂

Cerise thought Cedar didn't know her secret. She did,lmao.they are roomies I mean- Cedar didn't tell anybody because nobody asked, or at least always tried to avoid the argument.

This kind of offended Cedar but also understands why she didn't tell her.

Cedar always draws Cerise whenever she can. For her,she's like a form of ispiration. But is too shy to ask her to pose for a drawing

Cedar loves musicals, Cerise doesn't🧍‍♀️

While Cerise is good at any kind of sports, Cedar is good at any kind of art. except maybe for theatre.

Cerise doesn't like vegetables. She always avoids them. Also Cedar does not like vegetables, but she in not that picky.

Cedar has mobility issues, especially in coordination. Cerise is tall and strong, she helps Cedar into not falling and to stand up by making her lean against her.

I'M GONNA CHANGE STH OF THE THRONE COMING EPISODE: Daring didn't envite Cerise to dance, Cedar did. Her excuse was "I need someone to help me stand up while I dance"

Cerise once saw Cedar praying upon a star. Cedar was a bit embarassed, Cerise comforted her, saying there was nothing wrong in praying and wishing. Then Cedar asked if it was true that wolves prayed upon the moon, Cerise eventually confirmed it was true.

That's when Cerise realized Cedar knew about her wolf side.

The ""only"" who know about her are: Cedar, Raven, Cupid (BECAUSE C MON SHE WAS IN MONSTER HIGH) ,Darling (lmao secret white) and Kitty.

They are both bad at cooking, they once have been banned by Ginger for almost burning the Kitchen.

Cedar doesn't curse, but you know what?She speaks italian, almost nobody knows italian at school, so she sometimes says a word of two in that linguage to feel less guilty. Or it comes out naturally.

"CAZZO!" Cerise:"What did you say?" "I've just cursed in italian,please don't tell anybody I did" "Aww, don't worry. I always curse, it's fine"

The only one cat Cerise doen't hate is Figaro, Geppetto's cat.

Both introduced eachother to their families. It went well,Yay! Red Hood loves Cedar and Cerise loves Geppetto's food.

Cedar is beautiful, naturally beautiful.Pinocchio admitted he built Cedar in a way to be genderless, but he ended up making her face more feminine because Cedar wanted to.

Cerise really compliments Pinocchio for how he built Cedar, 'cause DAMN SHE'S BEAUTIFUL.

Cerise once tried to kiss Cedar, but she stopped her. She said it was because of the skin made of wood. Cedar promised that when she will become a real girl, it will be the first thing she eventually does as a human.

They always had a very close bond, but not just because they are roomates. Cerise doesn't know how to explain it, neither Cedar does. They just know they will always stand by eachother side.

A Long List of Paternal Headcanons About Pietro

Although Pietro has looked perpetually miserable in most stories, this is actually the happiest he has ever been in his life. And honestly? In regards to being at work? Pietro is cold as hell, he's far more warm amongst his family.

His children (and Rosaria) are his weak spot. Pietro is similar to his father, in the sense that he has 'older sensibilities' in regards to his expectations for the way his children should conduct themselves and behave. Yet, he's never risen his hand with them. He seldom even yells - his kids know when he's displeased through his glances or how low his voice becomes. He's the master of giving a fatherly face of disapproval.

He often finds himself on the line between wanting modern American sensibilities with his parenting while also honoring traditional Sicilian customs without having the more problematic aspects of his culture. Rosaria always succeeds in balancing him out in perspective.

Having Carlo changed him, but having the twins changed him more. This is because they were his first daughters, and the emotions he felt seeing two small girl infants was somehow stronger than what he felt at the sight of his son. He and Sal had a good chat in the hospital that morning, with Sal noting that Pietro was gonna be willing to murder someone for these little girls, he was gonna be a slave for them and their happiness. Pietro believed him.

Everything Pietro thinks and considers about the future, he does so with his children in mind. Carlo made him want to [REDACTED]. The twins made him want to go legitimate. Pietro feels that as a parent involved in the underworld it's so important to have things in order. Plans, a will, incase you suddenly get a bullet in your brain. But upon obtaining fame and large heaps of money from various legitimate sources, Pietro realizes that this isn't the way he wants to live: he wants to enjoy small things in life with his children without looking over his shoulder. He got in the life, now he wants to get out of the life.

NSFW. Currently in Sink or Swim, Pietro believed he was attracted to slim woman, model shaped. Turns out he actually prefers Rosaria's weight gain, he thinks she looks more lively and beautiful. Plus, you know, her weight reminds him of how they started a family.

He finds himself using phrases, stories and songs that his mother use to tell him. He's very good at telling stories, which is something he never expected to be good at.

He's always felt extra tender towards Angela because she was a shy, clingy toddler whereas Antonella prided herself in being extroverted and spontaneous. Angela use to latch onto him and crawl into bed at night afraid of the dark whereas Antonella use to yank at his beard and put M&Ms in his ear when she was a toddler. However, Angela becomes his biggest fear because he sees so much of himself in her sneakiness and occasional lies.

He absolutely refuses to let any of his children, nieces, or nephews get into the entertainment industry or modeling industry while they're minors. This firm stance impacts Antonella the most because she would love to be on TV.

Watches a mixture of old and new things with his kids. Movie nights are commonplace. Pietro's the sort of dad who'll turn on episodes of I Love Lucy or the Caroll Burnett Show for the girls to watch [which does prompt Antonella's interest in female comedians across decades] but he'll watch the latest Disney movie too. However, he doesn't think too highly of the storytelling and characterizations in the latest films.

Angela and Antonella came out of the theatre with him after viewing Wish. Antonella felt the star was cute and that was it, whereas Angela had a moment of silence before saying, "I don't think I like Disney movies anymore…" to which Antonella said, "me neither." Pietro was proud they were able to feel this way, but he also felt like an end of an era was upon them.

Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio makes him depressed because he sees too much of his father in the portrayal of Geppeto's coldness. He thought the movie Luca was lovely though. Sometimes he definitely watches animated movies redubbed in Italian for nostalgia and to get the kids in-tune with their heritage.

Usually watches the girls play Dreamlight Valley, and once while they were at camp he and Rosaria had the honorable duty of watering the girl's Pumpkin Patch.

EAH Dorm Rooms Headcanon pt 13

Farrah & Meeshell

One's a dutiful fairy godmother and the other is a mermaid princess, two of the top popular fairy tale creatures!

Farrah and Meeshell were one of many characters that came during the show's end. The only reason I was able to get info on their dorm is because of the books 'Fairy's Got Talent' and 'Fairy Tail Ending'.

Before Meeshell came along Farrah was one of a few who had their own dorm room. Meeshell was offered her own room, but chose to have a roommate to avoid favoritism. My guess is that their room is the same size as Lizzie & Duchess or Ramona& Justine.

Also, can you imagine all that blue in the room, it would be different shades of blue for each girl and how calming the room must be?

Farrah's side:

Farrah is not only the future fairy godmother for the future Cinderella (Ashlynn) she's also the future blue-haired fairy for Pinocchio. After, the future blue-haired fairy went Rebel she disappeared, and Farrah was tasked with the destiny. Yeah, that's fake! My theory is that the future blue-haired fairy is Astronova from Monster High (I'll explain in another post). Farrah is a huge fan of fashion and magic and loves to share it with others.

In the books Farrah's side of the dorm is described as :

The simple decor sort of fit with Farrah’s personality—sweet and friendly. There was a canopied bed, lots of soft pillows, and an overstuffed chair that looked very inviting. And the paint, bedspread, pillows, and wallpaper palette were all variations of one color. - Blue

I picture Farrah's side of the dorm looking similar to the party in 'Wish List' and most of her furniture with star patterns on them.

In the books Farrah (and Meeshell's) room has a relaxing mood to it due to all the blue since Faybelle almost yawn and thought of napping due to being in the room.

Farrah has a humongous corkboard with photos of her friends and parties she's attended. Her room divider would have more pics.

Her pet mouse, Clydesdale, has a little mouse castle (cute).

Farrah has a desk piled high with books such as: 101 Things You Can Do With a Pumpkin, How to Turn a Mouse into a House and Other Affordable Decorating Tips, From Rags to Riches: How to Make Her Look Like a Princess, and Does Everything Have to End at Midnight.

The reason Farrah reads these books is because she (and other fairy godmothers/godfathers) wishes for her magic to last longer than midnight (lore), whenever she questions herself, she reads them to remind her that midnight is a part of her story and should be grateful for her part to help others even for a short time. Farrah, it's okay to be upset!

Being a fashionista, I can see Farrah having a sewing machine similar to Lizzie's (only blue with stars), a sewing kit, & a mannequin to make outfits with. She also has fashion books on her desk as well.

Being a Fairy, Farrah has to take care of her wings. Like Faybelle, she has special lotions to keep them neat and healthy.

Farrah has a huge collection of wands for special occasions.

I can see Farrah having a huge collection of clothing for herself and her friends that she keeps in a closet and a trunk for storage along with other outfit making materials.

Meeshell's side:

Meeshell is a literal fish out of water due to her mermaid nature. When she first arrived at Ever After High School she was shy and tried to hide she was a mermaid. As the future Little Mermaid, she is anxious about her role especially her future prince part (spoiler she dates Humphery). After she revealed she's a mermaid she becomes more open and shows off her musical talent.

This is the only time we she her and Farrah's dorm and it appears her room divider as blue garland hanging on it. She would also put pics of her home under the sea and would later out pics of her friends.

After becoming friends with Maddie, Briar, & Ashlynn she kept the snapdragon plant as a pet in the dorms since her other pet narwhal, Finbert has to stay with the other pets (they would have a place for aquatic pets on campus) .

Meeshell has the basic EAH student furniture: a canopied bed, desks, dresser, and a closet.

I can see Meeshell's side of the dorm resembling the lone pool room from her episode debut (minus the pool) with the seashell & underwater aesthetic. And like the tank she's in it has faux coral, tiny castles, and seaweed decorations.

Singing being Meeshell's I can see her getting a karaoke machine or audio equipment to record her singing.

In the books Meeshell loves manta rays so she has a tone of manta ray plushies.

She also has a huge seashell collection that she keeps on her desk/trunk.

So I was gonna wait to do the Backstory for the Blue Fairy till Wish came out, since its supposed to be the origin of the Wishing Star and she's so connected to it, but from what I read it's not really going to feature any real references to the Blue Fairy, so I'll just retcon stuff in if I need to when it comes out x)

The Blue Fairy Backstory

Her real name is Evangeline (of course)

She was the daughter of a powerful fairy named Meissa, who was assigned as a member of the Protectors, the guardians of magic in the Everrealm, to guard the portal between Our World and the Everrealm that manifested as the Wishing Star/Second Star to the Right, and when her time came Evangeline took up the guardianship

Over the ages places where the two realms touch have become rarer and rarer and need guardians over them, such as the Fifth Spirit over the portal near Arendelle and Queen Pari Banu of the Genies over the Seven Deserts

Neverland also sits right below this star portal and so falls under the watch of this guardian. This is the reason that Neverland's Blue Pixie Dust is so powerful, its linked into the magical energy of the great Blue Fairy who watches over the Island

Besides her guardianship Evangeline will sometimes take on the duties of normal fairy godmothers, in both realms, bringing blessings and judgments to those deserving of them, in both the Everrealm and Our World, though her duties as Guardian keep her from always intervening directly as much as she used to, such in the case of Pinocchio

Mostly she grants wishes from afar, to those who's pure hearts long most and wish deepest, sometimes even sending down one of the Starlings (star shaped denizens of the star she inhabits) to help fulfill the wish (there, there's the Wish link x)

Edit: I've decided that her father is the great Sorcerer Yen Sid. So she would technically be half Fairy due to him being born human. But by the time her parents met and wed he was so powerful in magic he'd basically transcended his humanity, and that's why she doesn't age/has large wings.

I based Meissa's look on The Fairy With Torquoise Hair from the original Pinocchio book and on old concept art for the Blue Fairy

So yeah! There's her backstory! Hope you like it :)

Star Darlings AU? Headcanon?

In Star Darlings there are twelve girls who must fulfill twelve mysterious wishes… although I don't think the protagonists have met characters like Snow White, I do believe that SD is something generational…So, my theory is that before the protagonists of the series there were already other star darlings, and they were surely the ones who granted the twelve wishes.

So I was thinking about Cedar Wood praying every night before going to bed and saying the famous song "When you wish upon a star" (re wirtten ofc) and wishing about becoming a real girl. Only Cerise knows about this, she thinks it's cute :).

Golden Analyzes 2001 Nominees “Shrek”

So this is the first case scenario where me and my GF, (we’re watching these together) have totally different experiences with a movie on the list.

Jimmy Neutron - We both never seen it

Monsters Inc - We both seen it

THIS movie, I hadn’t watched it in full prior to this. But she has.

Actually, I think I should clarify my stance when I say ‘haven’t seen it’. Cause with Jimmy Neutron, I actually hadn’t seen a single clip of it and knew nothing going in.

With this movie? I mean I haven’t sat down and watched the movie in full before this.

I’ve been SPOILED TO DEATH about this movie. So I know the plot. I know what happens. There are no surprises waiting for me.

But I’ve only sat down and seen a few clips. One was the very end of the second movie years ago when I was walking in on a babysitting watch party. Another was that scene in the third movie of that ogre baby doing a vomit rocket, which was even longer ago back when I was a kid with Windows XP. (Come on Microsoft, make Windows interesting again!)

And we also went on a Shrek themed VR ride at Universal. I don’t remember anything about it aside from we rode it.

Though to be fair I never remember VR rides that well.

So I know Shrek. I know it’s story. I know the impact it’s had on the industry. I just never found time or interest to sit down and watch the full movie.

My GF on the other hand has seen all the movies and spin-offs, and she is a pretty casual fan. She’s rather indifferent to these movies, and said they’re good movies.

So… she’s gonna have more to say in the reactions than usual. While I descend into madness.

But due to the Oscars nominations, I will get a descent Shrek fill in. Shrek 2 is 2004. Puss N Boots & Puss N Boots The Last Wish we’re both nominated. I will be required to watch those.

But not the third of fourth movies. I am not required to watch those. And I heard they were the worst of the franchise so I probably won’t. Depends if I get that invested in Shrek.

Review:

Yeah, uh… I think I lost it far more than I thought I would. XD

And I’m a Total Drama viewer, which is pretty much this franchise but parodying reality Tv instead of fairy tales.

This is one of those movies that would probably not fly today from how much… rancidness is here. But apparently they’re making a fifth movie, which I, who has only seen the first movie so far, cannot comment feelings about.

I won’t dock points for it though, as it’s pretty clear it’s all done on purpose to serve as the movies distinct identity…

…you know, as one giant hate letter to Disney. If you know its history.

Okay, but putting that aside, this movie was a cultural phenomenon and a huge deal… and I get why.

Nowadays everyone’s trying to copy it, pretty much anyone under the Universal belt copied it at least once. But back then… yeah there wasn’t anything like it. And unlike those imitators that make their movies as childish garbage, this movie knows exactly what it’s doing and what it wants to say.

So much so that they repeat the message of the movie over and over and OVER again. And ngl, I felt pretty bashed in the face every time they said something under the likes of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. Because it was NOT SUBTLE AT ALL.

I think that’s a dialogue issue more than anything else. I would say kids movie, they have to use subtext less, but then I remember Monsters Inc was also an Oscar nomination and that movie knew subtext pretty well.

I think this is my biggest critique of the movie. There’s a bit of a lack of subtext.

There’s a lot of telling instead of showing. And I think the story and the message would’ve hit a whole lot harder if they showed things instead of just saying them.

For example, Shrek talks about how everyone immediately called him a monster before knowing him… but that’s it. He talks about it. What we’re shown is the aftermath of such where HE’S purposefully scaring THEM. Yeah I know he’s not attempting to murder anyone doing this he just wants privacy, but I think they could’ve made these civilians a bit more unlikeable, unreasonable, and unfair going in to make Shrek’s point have more ground to stand on. I think the scene would’ve hit a lot harder for me.

I do have other critiques as well

The animation is… actually not as bad as people make it out to be now. Yeah it aged badly but there are some really pretty skies.

Mostly the problem isn’t even the animation, it’s the designs.

That Lord Facebook castle is… YIKES, that’s bad looking.

The ogres look fine, but the people just look… OLD. Like, far older than I think they’re supposed to be. I think the only human character that looks like the age they’re supposed to be is Fiona.

My GF pointed this out too. She suggested that maybe everyone looking like this is on purpose to add to the fairytale satire angle. And maybe.

Now I have my fair share of fairytale satires in my life… but I am a little confused on how fairytales function in this world??

Like obviously the characters are there, but do they live out their respective fairytale stories? Are they aware their stories are written in stone? What about the people who aren’t fairytale characters? What do they do?

None of these world building questions get answered, at least not in this movie. Like, maybe if Shrek was a fairytale character, even if a very minor monster obstacle character, then the hatred towards him would be much more understandable?? Like, on the civilian’s end not on the message’s end.

Lord Facebook is also probably the weakest character in the movie.

Yes I know it’s Lord Farquad, but over the reaction we made a joke about the Facebook looking banners so we’re calling him Lord Facebook.

There’s really only one scene where I’m convinced he’s a threat as a villain, and that’s him torturing the gingerbread man. He hates and slaughters fairy tale creatures because… why not? (I forgot) And he somehow is not the king??

Why would he need to be king if he already has this much power?

And even then most of his power is used off screen. Like the Mama Bear murder. ON SCREEN, aside from that one scene I already mentioned, he poses pretty little threat. The heroes don’t really try to stop him until the end of the movie, Fiona puts up very little fight for her own character reasons, and in the final battle, Facebook gets eaten and killed very early and very easily without much of a fight. A fight that his GUARDS do.

I’m just saying, the main villain kinda doesn’t have too much of a ‘role’ dictating the narrative. Cause again, it was Fiona’s choice to go with him. She’s not being held captive by him or anything. He’s not the guy that locked her up in that tower.

So this movie has some issues…

I still very much appreciate it.

Despite the movie being made out of spite (if you go behind the scenes) it has a strong heart of a story of an outcast learning to let people in his life.

Shrek is not a monster. That’s just the stereotype people put on ogres. But he acts like that monster as a coping mechanism for loneliness. Which is a very real psychological thing.

I first assumed the movie was about this ogre getting a redemption arc and changing into a better person, but this is a subversion I’m pretty pleased with. I mean yeah Shrek is… flawed, but so is everyone. And he shouldn’t have to, say, remove his ogre side to fit in.

(Wait is that the plot of the second movie??)

And it’s also why his relationships with Donkey and Fiona, who accept him for who he is, is very important for both him and the story.

And I really liked these two characters in particular. MUCH more than I thought I would going in.

Except eating birds eggs. That’s a big no no.

Donkey, I suppose, fits the ‘comedic sidekick’ role, and I was prepared to be extremely annoyed by him throughout the movie…

…what I got instead was a very wholesomely pure character that was vital to the story. Yeah he’s a loudmouth, but he has by far the best heart in the movie and such an amazing friend to Shrek. Even when Shrek snaps at Donkey for a misunderstanding, he never blames Shrek for anything and remains emotionally supportive and open to listening to Shrek. It’s a friendship I completely bought from beginning to end.

I also completely bought the love story from beginning to end. The main character literally wiping his ass with the notion of true love only to find said true love? Irony at its peak.

And I will say that after watching this movie fully for the first time, I am a Fiona STAN.

I knew the twist with her being an ogre even before I watched the movie, so no surprise there. Again, I’ve been spoiled to death of this movie. What I wasn’t expecting was how well it was used as a thematic purpose to parallel Shrek.

This is something she can’t control. There is nothing she can do about it. Shrek can’t either cause he was born an ogre, but they’re both in the similar situation. In Fiona’s case however, she lies about it. She hides it. She masks herself to fit the society norm of a princess because that is what she’s supposed to be.

And being locked in a tower for god knows how long with no social contact? Of course she’d think no one would love that side of her. All she has to go off of is fairy tale logic, which is why she speaks in Old English at her debut scene.

Kinda wish they kept that part as a running thing for her, cause they kinda drop it after the rescue. That’s a nitpick though.

But after hearing Shrek having experiences that are relatable to her fears, she opens up far more to her real personality, which Shrek falls for. She’s crude, she’s cynical, she has no problem getting her hands dirty, she can kick ass without much issue. That’s another thing I like. She played the traditional damsel in distress at the tower, but it was clear it was just a gig for her and she could’ve escaped if she wanted. But it’s her willing choice to go to Farquad after the misunderstanding, and Shrek isn’t saving her physically at the wedding, he’s saving her mentally.

That was a nice subversion of the trope.

I also LOVE that she stays an ogre at the end and that’s her ‘beauty’. Cause despite not being born an ogre, it IS her. It’s genuinely very beautiful.

“Man, gotta love ogre, one of my favorite genders”

Idk how much of a hot take this is, but she’s prettier as an ogre than she is as a human. I said it.

I’m not one of those people that love romanticizing obesity, as it is a genuine health concern that be damaging to one’s life. But there is a good line between that and just having a body type that is more plus sized than others. And that’s okay. Especially if there’s nothing that can be done in some cases. I cannot speak for the plus sized women that watched this movie, but I hope it really touched them in a positive way and made them appreciate themselves more.

And to this day, Disney hasn’t made a princess with a chubbier body type. But if they ever do we all get to claim that Fiona was the first.

…and also that Red Shoes movie that’s pretty good and also did body positivity well.

Shrek’s bond with both of these characters is the heart of the movie, at least for me. It’s genuinely so touching to watch a guy who got isolated for so long be able to open up again to people who can love and care for him for who he is. Maybe it’s not the best version of this story in the world, but it’s still a well told one.

And, uh… idk how controversial it is… I like the pop music in this movie.

Nowadays its overdone and serves no purpose besides advertisement and songwriters getting a paycheck, but in this movie it serves a genuine narrative purpose and the movie would be worse without it.

It’s SHREK’s style of music. It’s HIS narrative being narrated not in a traditional fairy tale way, but by his playlist.

Every other character in the movie tries to sing traditionally like a Disney Movie. Donkey tries a lot and Shrek keeps stopping him. Fiona sings and kills a bird with her voice. (Yeah the mockery of Disney is strong here) Shrek meanwhile doesn’t give a damn about his reputation.

(I’m sorry)

And it really works for the ending after everyone else is singing the song ‘I’m a Believer’ together at Shrek and Fiona’s wedding. They join in on Shrek’s style of music because they have grown a sense of acceptance of Shrek.

(At least I think they did)

So yeah, good movie with some rough edges to it. I honestly wish I loved it more than I did. But I’m glad I didn’t hate it. At least I am now scarred by a dragon sexually harassing people.

And according to the nomination list, I will be required to watch the second movie and both of the spin-off movies.

so what'd you think of GDT Pinocchio? :D

Omg I LOVED it!!! It’s so so good!!! And heart wrenching?!! The animation is flawless!!! The character design is amazing!!! The story is so so incredible! (but holy crap they were not kidding when they said that fascism is in the movie)

⚠️spoilers to anyone who haven’t seen the movie⚠️

- I can’t get over on the bitter sweet ending it’s so AAAA and I cried!!!! The fact that Pinocchio’s motivation is different from all the other Pinocchio’s, that he wants his papa to see him as a son instead of a burden, and in the end he became mortal, not human, but mortal and I find that so clever Guillermo is a genius!!!

- And Holy shit I LOVE the anti-fascism in this movie, (but oh my god I’m still shocked that they added the salute, youth camp, and MOTHER FUCKING B*NITO M*SSOLINI?!!!) and that the one of the moral of the story is to tell fascism to literally eat shit and rot in hell, this puts a smile on my face!

- I also find it clever that they names Geppettos former son Carlo cuz that’s the name of the creator of the book: Carlo Collodi

- The build up on every character is also one of my favorite things about this movie! how Geppetto kept saying “your not my son!” And “why can’t you be more like Carlo?” To “don’t be like anyone else, be yourself, be Pinocchio.” Same with Sebastian Cricket, instead of wishing for fame and fortune, he wishes for Pinocchio to come back to life. And Candlewicks instead of continuing being a jerk, later became Pinocchio’s friend (god I really really hope he’s ok, I’m placing a headcanon that there is a rescue team that came to the island and saved all the children there and brought them home) the fact that we get to know Candlewicks story that his dad is forcing him to do what he wants and to act like a bitch instead of candlewick being a bitch just because. And Spazzatura hating Pinocchio because he became Count Volpes favorite but then realizing that Pinocchio cares about his coworker and later joins his family. And lastly Pinocchio’s glow up, from a curious grimlin to learning about the exemption of life and death.

There’s so much more I love about this movie, it’s incredible and beautiful and bittersweet, I can’t get over how we slowly watch as each character in Pinocchio’s family slowly pass away and watch Pino walk away from the graves, it really makes me cry just thinking about it. There’s other stuff I want to mention about the movie but idk if anyone wants to continue reading this already long post so ima just cut it here.

Either way I love this movie and it’s heart breaking sweetness. Guillermo Del toro is amazing!
