Combinding my interests like a nerd and made a HMS Over the Garden Wall au! I have the last like, 4 episodes planned out and im very tempted to written them out for a fic! It might take a bit but i can hopefully do it

(I am very tired so please ignore the sloppyness of it all)

They'd be fully human unlike there actual designs and be siblings or at least very close friends as well. So theyd use the more human names throughout the story

Heart/Juno- Mix of Wirt and Greg. Mainly has the optimism and goofiness like Greg but also the caution and fear like Wirt

Mind/Ciro- Also a mix of Wirt and Greg. Mainly is the seriousness and realistic outlook of Wirt but doesn't care much of the threats in the woods like Greg

Soul/Atlus- Mix of Wirt and Beatrice. Doesnt really care for any of the other people in the Unknown, but while also wanting to enjoy the adventure along the way.

Darrell is Greg's frog of course.

Some things would stay the same like Potterfield, but im also thinkin about the Manor episode being about Jekyll and Hyde. But instead of the whole ghost not ghost romance thing, they think the manor has 2 owners when it turns out to be one person the whole time. I want to put in more things from CJs other stuff but cant think of anything atm. Maybe the Announcer is involved with the Tavern episode idk. Also debating whether to even include beatrice in it since the idea i have doesnt quite have her fit into it.

Either way you can tell i dont at the moment have much of an idea for episodes 2-6. However the ideas i have for 7-10 are more layed out and are quite different compared to the original that im v existed to write for. but im very very tired atm so i can start on that (and maybe post a summary/synopsis) later.

“pass me the fuckin’ uh..” dean ran his hand through his hair, crouched beside baby. it was a one in a million day where dean had no shit to do, so he found himself doing checks on baby even if she was in perfect shape. doesn't mean he can't check in on his girl, whilst his girl is sat on the precariously stored chair. yeah, he'd told you if you fell he'd absolutely laugh at you however he knew full well that he'd literally perform an act of magic on you to keep you safe.

“uh, screw driver?” you bat your lashes at him, legs rocking as you typed on your phone, snorting out a laugh at the emoticon that charlie had sent you. of course, you liked to help dean out. but the weather was so good, and the sun was good for your skin, or so that forum that you read at the library when you went with sam said. also, you and charlie had a lot of gossip to catch up on, so.. you weren't on your game as much as you usually were.

a soft laugh slips past dean's lips as he shakes his head, looking back at the toolbox in your lap. you watch as he gets up, his hands a little stained with car oil, which in fact, does not suit the white colour of your babydoll top, clinging to the curve of your chest. which dean took much pleasure in, but besides—so you squirm back a little when he comes closer, “dean, you cannot touch me with your hands like that, i love you, but no—”

“relax, sweetheart, just tryna get a wrench,” dean teases, “can't a guy get a wrench? jeez,” he raises his hands teasingly before he carefully grabs a wrench from the tool box. not before swiping his thumb over your nose which causes you to squeal, and he quickly makes his way back to baby before you can retaliate.

“dean!” you gasp, rummaging for your pocket mirror in the pockets of your baby pink hoodie, finding it and soon looking at yourself in the mirror. a little smudge of darkness glistens on your nose and the pout you give dean makes him cackle a little.

“c'mon, it adds character, don't you think?” he does a little tinkering under the car, to which you have absolutely no clue what he's doing. did you want to know? no, not really. you wanted to know why you had oil on your nose! you knew why, but why dean did it was a mystery, and you huffed.

“you'll know what character is when i'm done with you,” you mumble back sassily, giggling when you see the surprise fill dean's gaze. so, he rises from where he is, and saunters his way back over, having used a rag to wipe down his hands so you wouldn't throw a little hissy fit.

“is that right, hm?” his green eyes lift to yours, and leaning against the chair, he bites his bottom lip. hell, he likes when you get fiesty with him. “gonna show me character?” his low, gravelly voice cooed softly as his hands brushed over your sides.

this knocked you down a few pegs, because to be fair, if your bombshell of a boyfriend is speaking like that and holding you like this, well, who isn't gonna get a little flustered. “uh—yeah, character.” you do notice how his eyes flit down to your cleavage for a vague moment, and you speak up, a little uncharacteristically but in a way dean adores—“eyes are up here, deano.”

a groan slips past his pink lips, and you soon find his green, piercing eyes hooded and looking up at you. “tease,” he mutters under his breath, and a flush dusts his skin that he never expected to happen. “think i know where your eyes are, doll, just enjoying..” he traced a finger over the lace containing the spill of your tits, “the view. know you're enjoyin’ mine.”

you thought he wouldn't notice! you'd been staring at him for a while now, considering the fact he'd blessed you with the sight of not only his arms in a tank but sweats? your man was a slut, you couldn't even deny it. “dean, stoppp,” you mumble, getting a little heated as he brushes his fingers over you. “shut up.”

he pouts playfully, pressing his forehead gently against yours. lifting his thumb to your glossy lips, he pulls it gently before letting it go, a giggle slipping past his lips. “now you're being mean, pretty baby,” his hands slide down from your chest to your thighs, squeezing them gently. “mean to your ol’ dean?”

you push at his chest playfully, tapping your acrylics against his chest with a little laugh. this causes dean to dig his fingers into the meat of your thigh a little and pull you against him. “you were bein’ mean to me first, dean!” his brows raise, “you know exactly how. oil? nose? coulda’ gotten it on my top!”

he rolled his eyes at your behaviour, it's not like that top was expensive anyway. you two got it when dean had literally stolen 20 dollars from a wallet he found on the floor this one time. but that's besides the point. “can always get you a new one,” he shrugs his shoulders, flashing the signature winchester smirk. “kinda always been itchin’ to rip this one anyway. doesn't do that body justice.”

“dean,” you two were literally outside the motel, you couldn't do anything like dean was absolutely suggesting. and judging from the way his hand was sliding up under your skirt to cup your ass, well, he was suggesting a lot. he gives a gentle squeeze, growling softly before he lifted you up off of the chair, causing you to squeal. “dean!”

he swung you over so you'd sit on the hood of the impala, watching as your little skirt hiked up. a grin played on his lips and he sighed softly. “how'd i get so lucky, huh?” dean lifted ring clad fingers to brush the side of your face. “grumpy hunter like me.”

“fine ass hunter like yourself,” your retort was instant.

“i didn't say it, you did, so it ain't braggin’,” dean wiggled his eyebrows instantly, drawing you impossibly closer as his hands groped at your thighs gently. he was clearly a big fan of your body.

“dean, there are people walking past,” you nudge him, not before placing a glossy kiss to his cheek. he shrugs, glancing over at a passing woman and her boyfriend on the street. in usual dean fashion, he gives your ass a pat and winks at the couple, not that you realise.

“well, maybe, they wanna piece of this fine ass,” he squeezed, looking up at you through his lashes. “they'd have to go through me, first though,” literally before you can even realise it, you've been hiked up over his shoulder with your ass practically out.

“dean, my skirt!” dean acts oblivious, but slides a hand over you to keep the view at bay, a laugh slipping past his lips. “relax, sweetheart, i got you,” does this calm your nerves? no, not really, but, you relax into his grasp.

“you're the worst,” as you shake your head, your earrings shimmer under the dim lights of the motel as you make your way in. dean's practically a deer in headlights looking at you before he focuses again, and taps the doorframe of where sam's in.

“keep an eye on baby, alright? got some uh, things to be doin’, sammy,” it's like sam didn't even have to ask as he saw dean give you a playful swat on the ass, herding you to the bedroom. 

“yeah, sure, whatever,” sam was ninety-five percent sure he might have to go do his research in the impala because knowing you two? you were loud.

  Angrily, you slam the front door behind you and look at your boyfriend's broadly built back in front of you.

"What the hell is your problem?"

"What do you mean? I don't have a problem."

Nonchalantly, he shrugs before making his way to the kitchen, leaving you standing in the hallway. Stunned, you throw your hands in the air before following him with quick steps. The evening actually started out quite nicely, you were out to dinner with Erling and a few of his former teammates from Borussia Dortmund, all of you were having a good time, laughing, talking, joking. Just spending quality time with people close to you. But the further the evening progressed, the more dismissive Erling became and on the drive home he literally nipped every attempt of yours to start a conversation in the bud.

To each of your questions, he only answers with a curt "I don’t know.”

Every time you try to touch him, he moves his body further away from you and dedicates his attention to someone else.

  When you arrive in the kitchen, you watch as your giant of a boyfriend grabs a bottle of water from the fridge and lets the door slam shut loudly shortly after.

"Oh so you don't have a problem! Then why aren't you talking to me? I mean you're not even really looking at me."

"I am talking to you"

Erling takes a big gulp from his water bottle while looking at you demonstratively. An annoyed sigh escapes you.

"Yes passive-aggressive."

He just rolls his eyes at you comment.

"Just leave it alone, (y/n).

With these words he pushes past you, a few seconds later you can already hear the voices from the television. Anger and despair rise in you, as you take in his behavior.  Again and again you go over the events of the evening, hoping to find anything that could explain the way he’s acting now, but you can't think of anything that could be the trigger for his sudden change of heart. Angrily, you enter the living room and build yourself up in front of the TV screen, trying to get your his attention at all.

The latter lies on the couch and watches you with raised eyebrows.

"Erling, tell me what the hell is going on now. What did I do to make you so dismissive of me now?"

Your arms cross in front of your chest and you look at your lover with a pleading look. You really didn't think the evening would end like this. Erling straightens up on the sofa and gets himself into a sitting position.

"(y/n)...for the last time it's nothing."

"Are all Norwegians this stubborn or are you the exception? Tell me what the hell is going on now, because there is something going on, that’s for sure. But I can't change anything if I don't know why you're in such a mood..."

Slowly but surely, anger leaves you and despair takes over. You just want to put the argument behind you and then snuggle up on the sofa with your usually gentle and accommodating boyfriend, while watching an episode of your new favourite show. With slow steps you walk up to him and taking a sit next to his massive form.  You reach over to him, only to connect your hand with his, tenderly letting your thumb slide across the back of his hand.

"So please be honest with me, we need to talk about it and not just keep silent."

For a few seconds, he just looks you in the face, his otherwise warm blue eyes, now look at you with a harshness and coldness that you have never seen before in them.

"It's really sad that I really have to tell you the reason."

With a jerk, he withdraws his hand from you and puts as much distance as possible between you. He must have read the aberration about his words in your face, for a contemptuous snort leaves your lips.

"Oh come on (y/n), don't act stupid now. You know, other women at least have the decency not to flirt with other guys in front of their boyfriend, but you don't seem to care. But it seemed like Jude enjoyed it too..."

Stunned, you interrupt him.

"I have what now?"

"Oh come on, everyone saw you and Jude flirting with each other."

"Ok, now you seem to be completely crazy Haaland. I talked to Jude because I happen to think he's really nice and funny. I certainly didn't flirt with him, why should I flirt with other men at all, I have you?!"

Apparently uninterested, he shrugs his shoulders.

"Maybe one man isn't enough for you, I don’t know."

His words hit you hard and the tears you've been trying to hold back all this time start to make their way down your cheeks. Whether out of anger at him or out of sadness because of his accusation, you can't really tell yourself. As calmly as you can, you get up from the coach before looking him dead  in the eye. When he notices your tears, the tenderness you usually know from him returns in his eyes, but you don’t care about that in the moment. The pain over his words is far too deep.

"You're an asshole Haaland, do you know that? When in our entire relationship have I ever made you feel like you couldn't trust me, huh? All the time..."

You notice how he wants to say something, but you prevent him from doing so.

"Let me fucking speak first."

Suddenly, he closes his mouth and sinks back a little further into the sofa cushions, you acknowledge that he now regrets his words. But you can't tolerate him thinking about you like that, at that moment you just can't and won't give in.

"All the time when you're away, whether it's because of  Champions League, away games or training camps. I was always at home waiting for you. I supported you at every game, whether in the stadium or at home in front of the TV. I left my life at home just so I could move to England with you. And now you're sitting here accusing me of having an affair with one of your best friends just because I get along well with him? You are truly incredible."

"(y/n).. Baby.. I’m sor..."

"Don't say you're sorry, the accusation against me really hurts and I really don't want to hear an apology from you right now."

The air in the room is oppressive and you have the feeling that you can't get enough air for a short moment.

"I need some fresh air..."

You quickly grab your shoes and jacket to put them on, heavy footsteps approach the hallway you are in.

"Babe please stay here, it's already dark, if you need distance I understand that, I'll go, but please stay in the house."

You shake your head abruptly.

"No, I need some fresh air, it's all too much for me right now, I have my phone with me. I love you, but right now I need some distance."

No matter how angry you are with him at the moment, at the very beginning of your relationship, you have made the agreement that you will never leave the house without these words, simply because you never know when you would hear it last.

"Darling, please..."

A sharp look from your side makes him fall silent instantly, he knows it's better not to interrupt you in your current mood. Which is why he admits defeat with a slight nod. You open the front door and let the cold air enter the entrance area of your house.

"Please stay close to the house and leave your cell on, please."

A quick nod is your only answer and just as you close the door you hear a soft, sad

"I love you, please be…" from Erling, but the last part of his words is already drowned out by the slamming door.

Lost in thought, you stroll along the well-lit sidewalks around your house. Again and again, the headlights of the passing cars dazzle you, which is why you stubbornly keep your gaze directed towards the ground. You stop in front of a zebra crossing and wait for the traffic light to symbolize that you can cross the street. 

After what feels like an eternity, you can cross the road, with a deep sigh you start to walk again. You are about halfway across the road, as the loud sound of a roaring engine enters your ears. Frightened, you raise your head to see, what the noise is all about, only to see two bright headlights moving towards you at you in a fast speed. Shortly thereafter, everything around you turns black and a soundless silence embraces you.

SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF OVER THE GARDEN WALL!!

"The Old Grist Mill": The bros walked in on Marilyn watching the second episode and asked what it was. She told them that Over the Garden Wall was about two brothers lost in the woods trying to get back home. Mario and Luigi were intrigued and asked if they could watch it with her. She said whatever and after popping popcorn and grabbing some mugs of apple cider, they started the first episode. Both bros liked it, with Mario enjoying the art and atmosphere and Luigi liking Greg and finding him adorable. Both bros' were put off by the Woodsman and that dog was going to haunt Luigi's nightmares but they told Mary that they wanted to keep watching, even though Mary warned Luigi that things were going to get scary.

"Hard Times at the Huskin' Bee": Mario noted how much Beatrice acted like Mary and Luigi would never look at pumpkins the same ever again.

"Schooltown Follies": not the bros' favorite episode but Luigi thought it was cute.

"Songs of the Dark Lantern": Mario spent most of the episode yelling at the tavern people about how unhelpful and annoying they are, all while Luigi kept calming him down. Marilyn enjoyed watching the bros' unnerved expressions when The Beast made his first appearance on screen.

"Mad Love": Both Mario and Luigi liked this one and thought that Fred was funny. And Mario laughed the loudest when Greg threw the pennies that they needed for the ferry into the fountain.

"Lullaby in Frogland": Luigi really liked the music in the show but the melody playing in this episode is his favorite. Both brothers were shocked and hurt by Beatrice's betrayal.

"The Ringing of the Bell": Both brothers were scared during the whole episode, especially Lorna's transformation. Luigi asks if this is as scary as it gets and Marilyn replies with an evil grin.

"Babes in the Wood": Mary warns the bros' to brace themselves but they weren't prepared for this one. They didn't care much for Greg's dream sequence but when Greg sacrifices himself for Wirt and goes with the Beast, Mary had to pause the show because both brothers started to sob uncontrollably. It took her almost an hour to convince them that everything was going to be ok and that the ending was worth it.

"Into the Unknown": After Mario and Luigi composed themselves, they kept watching. Luigi liked Wirt's crush on Sara and thought it was sweet and Mario liked Greg's little antics and funny sayings. They both were shocked when Wirt and Greg fell into the pond and were shaking Marilyn like, "wait does that forest mean death???" and they had a million questions for her but she just told them to shut up and keep watching. Also when Wirt left Beatrice's family to go search for Greg, Mario started to tear up again.

"The Unknown": Luigi is horrified of The Beast and never wants to go into the woods willingly ever again. And Mario is happy that Wirt uses logic when tempted with The Beast's offer. Both brothers cheered when The Beast was destroyed and they both sobbed again when Wirt and Greg woke up safe and sound in the hospital. They told Marilyn that they liked it and now they make it a tradition to watch it every October.

Sometimes you still couldn’t believe your parents had made you leave everything behind when they moved the family to Barcelona. Your older brother had been signed to Barça and of course everything came second to his dream.

You couldn’t blame him, he was a great brother but it still bothered you from time to time.

You had just came home from uni and were taking your books out when your bedroom door opened. Standing there was your brother’s friend, Pablo.

You looked at him confused.

-Hola.- you said.

-Sorry, I thought this was the restroom.- he managed to say as he continued to stay there. You walked to where he was and grabbed the door.

-It’s actually one door down.- you said as you pointed down the hall and began to close your door.

As the young boy walked away you closed shut your door and leaned against it, you could feel your heartbeat racing. You had managed to act cool but the truth was that Pablo had you going crazy.

He was your brother’s teammate and although they had just met a little over a year ago they were extremely close. You knew that even if you liked him, your brother Pedri, would never let him near you like that.

Before starting to study you decided to go grab a snack from the kitchen. As you opened your door and stepped out you felt as another body met yours. You looked up and Pablo’s eyes looked down at you. His chest touching you.

-Didculpa.- he said.

-You found it?-

He nodded but neither of you moved. He looked down at your lips and as he took one breathe in almost as if he was talking himself into kissing you, your brother’s bedroom door opened. Pablo quickly stepped away from you.

-Gavi, what’s taking so long?- asked Pedri.

You turned around to look at your brother.

-He got lost, couldn’t find the restroom.- you said. Pedri began to laugh.

-You’re an idiot, Gavi.-

-I’m going to the kitchen, want anything?- you offered your brother who quickly nodded his head and said they would both go with you.

You began to step down the stairs with your brother and Gavi behind you. They were talking about a video game they had been playing but you could feel Gavi’s eyes on you. When the three of you got yo the kitchen you began to make yourself a sandwich while Pedri looked for some drinks for his friend and himself.

As you began to put the mayo on your bread you could feel Gavi looking at you. You looked up and again were met with his light brown eyes. You smiled at him and he responded the same.

-Vamos!- Said Pedri startling you as he threw a water bottle at Gavi and began to walk to walk towards the stairs once again. Gavi stood up from the chair and looked over at you.

-See you later Y/N.- he said before following your brother.

The next day you had gone with Pedri to practice. You liked to sit on the bleachers and read while Pedri practiced. You also liked being able to see Gavi and sometimes even having lunch with him and your brother if he asked Pedri for a ride home.

Once practice was over you put your book in your backpack and began to walk towards the locker room to wait for your brother. As you were walking you heard someone running behind you and yell out your name. It was Gavi.

-Hola Pablo.- you said.

-I didn’t know you were coming today.- he said with a smile.

-Well, surprise. I’m here!.- you said causing both of you to chuckle.

Gavi stood there in front of you and he lifted his hand to place a strand of your hair behind your ear.

-It was hard to concentrate today.- he said with a smile.

-Why?-

Naughty/Dumb Pinescone Mini Fic Idea

This is so dumb! But it made me laugh, and I wanted to share with others and also just-- see how I should end it. So the idea: ---- Wendy and the teens joking that Wirt is Submissive and breedable (yes i was thinking of that friend's art) and they ask Dipper what he thinks, being he's Wirt's boyfriend and knows him the most intimately.

And Dipper is like "I mean…kind of. You are a pushover babe. And you're a sweetheart-- you totally give off that vibe"

And Wirt is all offended and huffy, like, "Im getting a drink."

Dipper: Get one for me too?

Wirt: (Immediately folding like a house of cards) Yes, dear.

Wendy: Told you!

Wirt shoots her a flustered glare, and walks off. When he comes back with the drinks, he hands Dipper his while leaning in his ear

"We'll see who's submissive and breedable tonight" ---

That's the idea. Now what I want to ask is-- if I were to write it, should I end it with more of a fade to black; a salacious tease for the reader's to wonder. Or, would people want me to include the later that night scene. I genuinely would like to know what sounds fun. Are we looking at a T+/M rated, or are we looking at E for this one?

EXT. THE UNKNOWN - MIDNIGHT

After running through the woods for several hours, the trio stop at a bridge over a dry riverbed in front of a sign shaped like Adelaide pointing to the right. The sign reads “TO ADELAIDE'S HOUSE. Where people turns bird by threw a rock on a bird.”

AUDREY

We’re almost at Adelaide's House. Wirt, we’ll need to be very discreet.

WIRT

Discreet? Got it. Sounds like another plan. I’m getting pretty good at this planning stuff.

AUDREY

Um, you know what might help that plan? If you weren’t so talked too much?

WIRT

Ohh, thank you. Oh wait, you meant—

AUDREY

Quiet, talking, way too much talked. Keep it down, keep it down.

WIRT

Oh, sure.

Wirt concentrates and the talking beak slowly fades until he looks like a regular woodpecker.

WIRT

Better?

AUDREY

Much better, thank you.

Before they could cross the bridge, they are stopped by a hooded figure riding a black horse. Wirt tries to pretend to be a woodpecker by chirping.

WIRT

Chirp- chirp.

The black horse neighs back and much more aggressively. The hooded figure stops in front of them and reveals himself to be The Woodsman.

THE WOODSMAN

I knew you’d pass through here eventually.

Audrey panics and tries to hide inside Wirt.

AUDREY

The Woodsman.

As she talks, guards on horseback appear from behind the trees to surround Audrey on both sides.

AUDREY

(WHISPER)

Wirt, remember the thing I just told you not to do? I’m going to need you to do it. Now.

The horse neighs, giving the heroes enough time to jump from the bridge and run down the riverbed. Woodsman quickly recovers and orders the guards to chase after them.

THE WOODSMAN

Don’t let them get away!

The horse jumps out of the dry riverbed and into the forest.

WIRT

W-h-hoa! Look at me go! I had no idea woodpeckers could move this fast! I mean their eyesight is trippy but…

Wirt moves his eyes from the side of his head to the front.

Wirt

Ah yeah, that’s better. I wonder if I could go even faster!

The horse trips and falls and Audrey and Wirt tumble over it.

AUDREY

Ah! Get up! Run!

Audrey runs for her lives as Woodsman’s guards catch up with them. The horse grabs onto Audrey's gold tunic, hopping on and riding it.

WIRT

Up we go!

Woodsman and the guards chase Audrey into a bunch of trees, where she manages to lose them. Amaya then appears right in front of Audrey.

THE WOODSMAN

I got her!

Instead of stopping, Audrey slides right under his horse, making it stand up and throw the woodsman. Woodsman glares at the runaway orphan and Audrey glares back as she keeps running.

The horse jump over Woodsman and try to reach Audrey. Wirt turns to look at Woodsman and the horse neighing at her. Woodsman growls in frustration proceeds to give chase to Wirt.

The horse laughs at this before turning to see two of the guards closing in on Audrey.

WIRT

The horse!

WIRT

Get me to Aud-reYY!

The horse soars through the air. The guards stop to reorient themselves while the horse flies towards Audrey.

WIRT

Audrey! I’m coming for you!

The horse lands on Audrey facefirst, making them tumble around for a few seconds until Audrey was worried sitting on the horse’s lap while Wirt tried to run away from the guards.

WIRT

(GROANING) I really thought these would be faster.

The horse just as Wirt catches up with them. Audrey grabs Wirt and holds onto him as the hrose continues running. Audrey lets out a laugh, thinking they’re finally safe, only to see Woodsman and the guards gaining on them. She turns around to the horse’s front only to see that they’re rapidly approaching a cliff.

WIRT

Careful! The cliff!

AUDREY

Oh, yes! I love that idea!

WIRT

Wait, no! Bad idea! Terrible idea!

AUDREY

For real horses, but not for it!

The horse leaps off the cliff with Audrey and Wirt in tow. The two of them scream in exhilaration.

AUDREY

Ya-hoo-hoo-hooey!

Audrey and Wirt continue screaming as the horse grows a pair of wings into a pegasus and wraps them around the two, cushioning their impact when the pegasus hits the ocean below.

Once under the water, Audrey and Wirt open their eyes to see the pegasus in the middle of transforming. Right now, he is a swirling mist of glowing energy surrounding them. In spite of the tense situation they’re in, Audrey can’t help but feel calm and happy at that moment. She sees the pegasus offer her its wing and she takes it. She looks at its smiling face within the sphere and could just tell that everything is going to be okay. Wirt is less happy about the situation and tries to say something only for air bubbles to fall out of his mouth and up towards the surface.

Back at the cliff, Woodsman and the guards stop just in time before falling over the edge. They look over and don’t see even a trace of our heroes.

GUARD #1

They’re gone!

Woodsman raises a hand to silence him. Still observing where they fell to see if anything would change. Sure enough, a golden glow shines from under the water and a shining dolphin leaps out with Audrey and Wirt riding on top of it.

AUDREY

Woah!

Woodsman looks at the scene baffled while the pegasus swims the heroes to safety. Audrey is smiling and laughing now that they’re safe.

WIRT

Phew! Glad that’s over!

Wirt looks down and sees that the pegasus is releasing more dust into the ocean. It touches the water only for two real dolphins to appear beside and swim alongside them.

At the ocean floor, all kinds of sea life from fish to crabs become covered in dust and swim up towards them. Audrey laughs and smiles at the whole scene.

She looks down and sees that all of the sea creatures are giving her her own show, taking on the formation of a fish as they swim underneath her.

She then hears a low, loud noise and turns to her right to see a whale appear right beside her. The whale shoots water out of his blowhole, soaking the trio more to their delight. Audrey looks directly into the whale’s eye.

The whale and all the other sea creatures dive back into the ocean. As its tail fully descends, Adelaide's House becomes visible in the distance. Audrey smiles at the sight, they finally made it!

“This is… so creepy. You’re creeping me out.”

Dipper laughed. “I just want to show you something. A… night-flowering plant. We’re really close. Why don’t we stop here and I can go look for it. I don’t remember exactly where it was and I don’t want to tire you out more than necessary.”

“Oh, okay.” Wirt leaned against a tree, trying to catch his breath. As Dipper began to walk away, he called out, “Wait, I don’t want to be alone out here!”

“I’ll be nearby,” Dipper called back, and kept walking. He ignored the rest of Wirt’s protests and the twist in his gut. Once he was far enough to be out of Wirt’s line of sight, he felt someone appear by his side. Dipper whipped around, coming face to face with a familiar man.

“Hey,” Gerard said, a wide smile on his face.

“Hey,” Dipper whispered back. “…So, he’s over there.”

“Got it,” Gerard said. Dipper blinked, and he was gone. All that was left of him was the sound of scampering paws. Dipper braced himself.

It was seconds before the screaming started. It did not last as long as Dipper thought it would, but it cut him straight to his core. He had never heard Wirt scream before. The sound of it was a blade in Dipper’s chest. The shape of it was in Dipper’s name, a plea for help. The way Wirt wailed his name was raw and terrified and almost brought Dipper to his knees. Dipper took a trembling step toward the sound and started to run. He ran straight back to the spot where he’d left Wirt and found Gerard crouched over his limp body.

Gerard looked up as Dipper approached. “He passed out. But he’s alive, don’t worry. We for sure swapped sauces.”

Dipper tried not to make a face at the idea, but he forgot all about appearances when he saw the blood. Wirt was covered in it, lying in a pool of it. Dipper dropped to his knees and leaned over Wirt, just to make sure Gerard was telling the truth– Wirt was breathing. Shallow, ragged, gargling breaths, but he was breathing.

“You’re sure he’ll heal?” Dipper whispered.

“Totally, man,” Gerard said. “But we should get a move on before he wakes up, right?”

“R-right.”

Dipper hadn’t realized how much seeing Wirt like this would affect him. He lived with Wirt’s death constantly hanging over his head, but it was so slow that it always seemed just out of reach. Now Wirt was bleeding out in front of his eyes and Dipper could hardly hold himself together. Gerard shoved his arms under Wirt’s body and hefted him up as he stood.

“Lead the way, Dipper,” he said, and Dipper started running.
