Summary: This year’s Mating Season has begun, and Elinor Evergreen is making her grand debut into noble Dragonshifter Society— to her dismay.

Summary: What would the world be like if a large portion of the population could shapeshift into animals? Oh, and also finding one or more romantic soulmate is a very real possibility. Drama ensues.

Words into Potions: March 1st

Goal:

1. Add new words to HG every other day

2. Work on world-building for CoF every other day

3. Work on HG or CoF every day

In thirty minutes I managed to write about 400 words of HG, even though my brain was not cooperating. I’ve been feeling very low energy, low mood lately. I stopped in the middle of a scene because of it.

After making a “to write next” list for that scene, I closed my doc and treated myself to an early bedtime— well… early for me. It was 1am by the time I had showered and got comfy. Sadly, I didn’t sleep super peacefully. I think the anxiety over my mom’s surgery next week is slithering its way into my happy writing haven. It’s partially why I’ve altered my goal. I think asking myself to write new words every day when I’m “worst case scenario” spiraling and mentally fatigued is a fast track to burnout.

As of posting this, I’m about to start some world-building overhaul tasks for CoF. Wish me luck!

And for anyone interested, I’ll be posting (hopefully) daily diary-style wrap-ups on my blog throughout March.
