Hi Rist! Sooo i was wondering what are your thoughts on bloom and fake avalon's relationship and how do you think it could potentially affect her future encounters with men who say she can trust them? Cause i feel like not many people talk about it but it was a big thing and now when I rewatch the series the fact that she is just a student and he's supposedly her teacher it's really triggering.

That is an EXCELLENT ask, but I honestly cannot say anything that MiraMeraki's fic "Damn the Dark, Damn the Light" hasnt already explored a million times more in depth.

The most I can add to this is that i doubt her trust in men was that shaken, actually, more her trust in authority figures and maybe her own judgement. If I want her to be distrustful of potential romantic partners, I tend to make Sky's s1 baggage the reason.

I actually like that they included that undertone to their relationship in the show though. It's a little uncomfortable to watch with context, but teenagers in real life also sometimes have crushes on teachers or authority figures, so it didnt seem THAT concerning until the twist, only weird how Avalon kind of seemed to encourage it. (I'm not even sure it even was a crush, Bloom's always been singleminded when it comes to potential leads on her parents, and she was desperate for help.) It was a very interesting blend of popular teen drama tropes and physical, plot-relevant danger as its consequence. I feel like it was a prime example of how golden age Winx Club trusted its audience with heavier topics.

i really don't get why nobody is shipping Bloom and Avalon???? like??? "can you help me with a personal project?" wink wink, "of course, bloom, come to my office and lay down on my sofa, then hug me so that i can console you" ??? their relationship is so inappropriate but people usually love that??
