I was like "huh I guess I'll spend a few hours to make a bodice out of the leftover red flannel from my red riding hood outfit". Anyway, 40 hours later... lol

The skirt is a circular tablecloth I found at the thrift store. I still need to attach the skirt to the bodice and put in like 15 buttons for closures, but the bulk of the work on the bodice is done. I guess I'm allergic to making simple pieces, because I lined the bodice and made fancy cuffed sleeves that took way too long. But! I haven't had to buy a single new thing to make this, which fulfills the purpose of using up shit I have on hand.

In the end, I'll have a winter dress for regular wear, and if you've ever seen the winter dress selection at a thrift store, you know how dire this sort of thing is needed. A dress? WITH SLEEVES? Call the police. we can't allow that sort of thing! Shapeless sweater dresses and sleeved dresses made of tissue paper ONLY! We can't let the ladies wear a dress when it's cold!
