I went birding today, which I'd never done before, and it was delightful on so many levels. Everyone there was a big nerd who wanted to either share info or listen to info. Every single bird was exciting. I'd kind of assumed birding was about sighting rarer birds, and people did definitely get more excited when something less mundane popped up, but even sparrows got people stopping to fumble for their binoculars. I'd also thought it might involve some early morning trekking to get to where the good birds were, but instead it was an incredibly leisurely meander along a flat river path, at a very reasonable hour. And since it was PDX, half the (quite large!) group was queer.

To the other anon: I genuinely sorry you've not seen BC live yet and really hope you'll get a chance!

On the other hand, it's completely OK to be whiny and complain and vent - also possible to be aware how priviledged one is at the same time. I've also seen my fave bands and artists multiple times and it brings so much joy in life, I wish every could have it <3

So whining about summer coming to an end eventually is allright. One time I complained for weeks to every friend and family member after my favourite yogurt was discontinued lol (good snacks are important to me)

"new covid shot" has been on the to do list for an age and i've been failing to cross it off due to cowardice (terrifying ordeal of returning to the local health center) and lack of information (had no idea if they were giving out a new one around here) but i finally went down there today to get one and yes, they are available, but although the center is open until 6pm I apparently need to come back around 4 tomorrow. which means leaving work early but that's fine. i've been using my sick time much more liberally this year lol last year i barely touched it.

anyway. I was wondering

Have people been having side effects from the latest one? I genuinely don't remember if it was the first or second one that had me in bed with a fever all the next day, but I haven't had side effects other than that.
