Oh man, Jennie.  If there’s one takeaway I got from that book, it’s that Veronica Mars is completely, stupidly, crazy in love with Logan Echolls.  

You’ll hear different interpretations from some people, but trust me, she’s got it BAD!   And now my heart is aching with feeling for those two assholes.

“Willow’s a lovely girl, lovely,” Giles was saying absently as Willow entered the Magic Box; she grinned, ducking behind a shelf of herbs to listen in. “But–”

Willow frowned, peering around the herbs. There shouldn’t be a but. There should just be a Willow’s a lovely girl. And Giles was talking to Tara, so there definitely shouldn’t be a but, or Willow would be having words with Giles about what he should and shouldn’t say to her girlfriend–

“But?” Tara prompted tentatively.

“I sometimes worry my lack of attention to her magical explorations was the wrong choice,” said Giles carefully. “I myself was carefully trained in the magics, and the rules and restrictions led me to a rather explosive rebellion, so I let Willow do whatever she cared to do–”

Why would Giles say that? Giles didn’t let Willow do things, Willow did things. Full stop.

“–and assumed she’d work it out on her own,” Giles was finishing. “But I notice her powers growing, and I notice how carelessly she casts spells, and since you work most closely with her–”

“I don’t know,” said Tara uneasily. “I-I was taught by my mother, so–I mean, you’ve noticed it too?”

That did it. Willow came out from behind the shelves, pretending she didn’t notice the way they both jumped. “Hi, guys!” she chirped, smiling a little too hard. “Whatcha chatting about?”

Giles and Tara’s faces relaxed; they thought she hadn’t heard. It was fine. It was fine. They didn’t know what the fuck they were talking about. She’d show them.

 so it happens that i’ve never written logan/lilly/veronica and i’m very intrigued to so i am

“Your turn!” Lilly proclaims to Veronica after she kisses Logan.

“Uh, what?” Veronica asks eloquently. “He’s your boyfriend, not mine.”

Lilly rolls her eyes. “Yes, I know, but I am so kind that I’m going to share with you.”

“I’m too sober for this,” Logan groans. “Really, you want to share me with Veronica? Do I get a say?”

Lilly shakes her head, her blonde hair fanning around. “Nope!” she says, popping the p. 

After a couple minutes, Veronica finally seems ready to kiss Logan, and Lilly couldn’t be more excited. Listen, she’s been dreaming about the three of them together. Dreaming dreaming if you catch her drift. Really, they just have to be sober enough to consent, which is why Lilly took away their drinks half an hour ago.

Veronica leans over Lilly and Logan leans towards her and they kiss. It’s a small peck that wouldn’t excite anyone. 

“Seriously? That’s like kissing your grandmother!” Lilly exclaims. She grabs Veronica’s chin and brings her closer, giving her a moment before their lips touch for her to pull away. When she doesn’t, Lilly brings their lips together, kissing Veronica thoroughly. She nibbles at Veronica’s lower lip and swipes her tongue over it to soothe the sting. 

Logan starts pulling on Lilly. “Okay that’s enough!”

The two girls pull apart and stare at him in surprise. “Sorry,” Lilly says. 

“Sorry isn’t going to help when I kick your ass!” 

“At kissing Veronica?” Lilly asks.

Logan nods and cups Veronica’s face and kisses her again. This time, Lilly can see their tongues and even hear Veronica let out a little moan.

When they pull away, Logan asks, “So how was that?”

“I hope I’m never stuck with you on a deserted island,” Veronica jokes. “There’s no way I’d be entertained by you whatsoever.”

Logan scoffs at that. “That was the best damn kiss you’ve ever had, and you know it.”

Lilly rolls her eyes. “No, really mine was better.”

At the same time, Lilly and Logan look at Veronica, and she looks back forth between them. “Who wants to make me a sandwich? Really, I think that’s a competition worth fighting over.”

Logan and Lilly groan and to entertain themselves they start kissing each other, ignoring Veronica’s pleas for a sandwich.

“You can only suffer through my whining for so long until you get up and make me a sandwich,” Veronica says before Logan pulls away. 

“I’ll go make the damn sandwich,” he says, kissing Veronica’s forehead as he gets up.

Even though none of them are naked (yet), Lilly couldn’t be happier.

LISTEN!!! jennie you are forcing my hand here because I don’t want to open this discourse in 2017 yk. I think the thing w/lucas and peyton and all ships that are like them that completely disinterest me is the idea of like fate or some bond/chemistry/WHATEVER that links you together and makes you feel like you have to be w/that person even after you consistently hurt each other. I feel like when a relationship is so TROUBLING and causes so many problems for so many people it’s just not worth it and to me it never interested me

as far as lucas and brooke. from an adult standpoint I can 100% recognize that their relationship was not the stuff of legends and if I were to watch the show for the first time right now I highly doubt I’d be invested in them. that being said, I watched one tree hill for the first time when I was TWELVE. watching their dynamic fascinated me so much and I just felt like it was such a unique twist on frankly something that had always bored me? (w/lucas and peyton). I HATED and still to this day hate the love triangle and that it dragged out forever and I could go my entire life without seeing something so contrived and frustrating

tldr; i have a lot of opinions regarding how the triangle was portrayed and i feel differently about it every time i watch so.

I mostly agree but at the same time the jokes about King James' unwanted flirting with Ryan really bugged me. A more petty person than I, a person willing to get into fan drama than I, would contrast that with much of Season 10, specifically to point out that DW with Moffatt was necessarily regressive and DW without him will be necessarily progressive.

I don’t think this was worded quite like you meant it, but I get what you mean. Yeah, the way they played that flirting thing really was the one bum note in the episode, especially at the end. (Also, I’m no historian but did kings in that time period generally just wander the country with a single guardian and no retinue? I spent the first half waiting for him to be revealed as an impostor until I realized that it was definitely him.)

Still, I did love to watch Alan Cumming clearly having the time of his life being on Doctor Who. I mean, I’ll watch Alan Cumming do anything.

I thought it had more of a ‘Six and Peri wandering the woods running into historical figures and getting accosted by bad guys’ era vibe.

It did also have that vibe! A “Mark of the Rani” sort of thing (which is honestly a bit underrated.)
