Another mother daughter scene!! This time Sunny & Thorn~
There's a couple things I think I didn't quite land here but overall I'm happy with it. The expressions, especially; I think I got the emotion just right~

The Princesses Suck, Hail Queen Thorn - A Rant
No matter how much you like the three princesses as characters or their roles in the story, it is genuinely infuriating when people try to argue that they'd be good rulers, especially when they'd be better rulers than Thorn.
Blister
Blister is the one I see brought up the most when people try to argue that Thorn shouldn't have become queen. She's the smartest so by logic she'd be the best ruler, right?
Well while that may be true in a superficial "can she keep things from going to shit" kind of way, things start to turn a bit dystopian when you consider what life would be like for the dragons under her care, specifically those outside the SandWing tribe.
Blister is a manipulative and power hungry dragon, so much so she could wrap Coral around her claw and have the SeaWing queen do whatever she wanted. Although that's hardly a compliment, Coral would probably have an stroke if she tried to come up with an intelligent thought on her own.
So what's to say she wouldn't try to do this to the other tribes, sparking a new war. Even if she didn't directly try to directly take over their governments and become Queen of Everything, she'd probably just manipulate the governments from the inside. Causing their queens to become so reliant on her and the SandWings as a tribe that she'd basically end up their queens in all but name.
Burn
Burn I say would be the worst out of the three in terms of keeping the people happy. Sure you could argue she'd be the best at government as she was essentially the unofficial queen of the SandWings during the war, but you would be hard pressed to argue she wouldn't be effectively a dictator.
She'd probably just start killing dragons for literally any reason she could come up with. She doesn't like them, they're annoying, probably even just killing dragons she sees as useless.
Also, there's the ableism. You can't tell me she wouldn't take all the hybrid and physically disabled dragons caught alive in the desert, round them up, and have them slaughtered en masse so their corpses could be taxidermied and put on display in her Wierdling Tower. No matter how much you like her as a character that's just inexcusable and undefendable.
Blaze... just... Blaze
Let's just say Blaze likes to look bright so she can make up for how dim her mind is. She'd be the worst in both categories. She'd probably shirk most of her responsibilites as queen off to other dragons, probably Glacier, while she spent her entire reign partying and playing dress up like the two month old dragonet she has half the mind of.
When it comes to the well being of her citizens, she'd probably just shrug off their plights in a Marie Antionette "Let them eat cake" kinda way. She has an abundance of food and pretty jewels, those peasents just need to get some of their own.
Thorn
Regardless of how much you hate her or think she's a plot device, you have to admit Thorn is leagues better than all three princesses combined. Yes she was a crime boss but she was also a morally good dragon, taking a place as rough and barbaric as the Scorpion Den and turning it into a place where all dragons would thrive, all while trying to keep legitimately evil dragons from having as little influence in the Den as possible. Heck, she even took in the son of a well known assassin, effectively adopting him as her own despite his less than honorable parentage.
"But she killed Preyhunter that makes her evil and-" *several gunshots*
Yes Thorn did kill Preyhunter, the least evil of the Sunny Abduction Trio. But... he was still a part of the Sunny Abduction Trio. So not exactly the "Uncontrollable Irredeemable Murderer kills Sweet Innocent Nightwing" narrative that Thorn haters try to push.
In fact for as many angry outbursts we see her have, that is the only time she attacks, much less kills, anybody. Also... Burn and Blister have much more blood on their claws and stingers.

I just realized I never actually posted this anywhere! It’s part of a map called Quibli’s Salvation, that ended up being a collab piece after I had some irl issue getting in the way of completion!
This was my first fully fledged attempt at lipsync, so I’m actually really proud of it!

“Elain deserves better than Lucien.”
At no point during this entire series are we led to believe that Lucien isn’t a high quality, compassionate, and thoughtful male. ✋😤

Thorn the Sandwing
[Image Description: A digital drawing of Thorn from Wings of Fire. She is a sandy yellow Sandwing dragon with a small, lithe body, thick eyebrows, a narrow face and a light cream underbelly. She has hazelnut colored markings which includes a mask marking on her face that goes from the top of her head to her muzzle, many different triangle speckle markings, and ones that resemble roses on her shoulders. Her sail is similar to her daughter's, being segmented like flowing rectangles and colored a light brown. Her claws, tail barb, eyes and horns are all brown, her horns being long and twisty. She is posed as though she is flying. On a second image, her accessories are added to the drawing, which includes the Eye of Onyx, an opal pendant, a golden earring on her right ear, and a golden bracelet of dragons with their wings spread out, connected together by their heads and tails on her left arm. /.End ID]

Note
I will defend thorn as queen with my life, i DONT care how much people say "oh burn would have been good" or "oh but blister" no they were are evil asf, we needed another queen because they were all fundamentally flawed and would lead to a corrupt kingdom in some way.
I feel like one of the points of tension in the sand wing succession war was that none of them were actually good queens, making the fight for the throne harder.
