Thoughts on Alto Piedmont (Alto Piemonte)?

I wanted to get a pulse from ya'll on wines from higher elevation Piedmont. I fell in love with wines from this region in Piedmont in 2019 (Gattinara, Ghemme, Bramaterra) and drank it any chance I could get.

I personally think it is akin to a Burgundian style Barolo/Barbaresco, but would love to hear your thoughts.

1971 Poderi Aldo Conterno Granbussia Barolo

I have only just begun in my vino journey, but I wanted to share one of the major highlights of my 2021 wine consumption. I had the enormous opportunity and pleasure to drink this beauty in Washington DC at one of my favorite Italian restaurants (not pictured is also a 2015 Emidio Pepe Trebbiano we had for an appetizer ;) ). For a 50 year old wine, the acidity was impeccable and the tannins were smooth and elegant. This masterpiece had the standard mocha/chocolate expressions with tobacco and a cherry. I am so glad I got to try something of this majesty as I don't think I will ever come face-to-face with this wine again.
