Why Reliable Wine Transportation Companies Are Essential for Wine Enthusiasts
For wine enthusiasts, the journey of a bottle from the vineyard to the glass is often as important as the wine itself. Reliable wine transportation companies play a crucial role in ensuring that this journey is smooth, secure, and preserves the quality of the wine. This article explores the reasons why these companies are essential for wine lovers and the benefits they provide.
Tumblr media
The Significance of Wine Transportation
Wine transportation is not just about moving bottles from one location to another; it's about safeguarding the quality and integrity of the wine. The transportation process involves several critical factors including temperature control, handling, and timing. For wine enthusiasts, these factors are crucial as they directly impact the taste and quality of the wine.
Temperature Control
One of the most significant aspects of wine transportation is temperature control. Wine is a delicate product that can be severely affected by fluctuations in temperature. Different types of wine have varying temperature requirements, and maintaining the correct temperature throughout the journey is essential for preserving the wine's taste and characteristics.
Reliable wine transportation companies invest in specialized equipment to ensure that wines are transported at the optimal temperature. This includes refrigerated trucks and climate-controlled storage facilities. By maintaining a consistent temperature, these companies help prevent issues such as spoilage, fermentation, or oxidation, which can ruin a fine bottle of wine.
Safe Handling Practices
Proper handling is another critical aspect of wine transportation. Wine bottles are fragile and can be easily damaged if not handled with care. Reliable transportation companies employ trained professionals who understand the importance of gentle handling and secure packaging.
Specialized packaging materials such as padded crates and shock-absorbing inserts are used to protect wine bottles during transit. These measures help prevent breakage and ensure that the wine arrives at its destination in perfect condition. Additionally, companies with a reputation for reliability often have quality control measures in place to monitor and address any potential issues during the transportation process.
Timely Delivery
Timing is crucial when it comes to wine transportation. Many wines, especially those that are aged, require a certain amount of time to develop their full flavor profile. Delays in transportation can disrupt this process and negatively impact the wine's quality.
Reliable wine transportation companies understand the importance of timely delivery and work to ensure that wines reach their destinations within the expected timeframe. This efficiency is particularly important for wine enthusiasts who may be waiting for a special bottle for a particular occasion or event.
Compliance with Regulations
Wine transportation is subject to a variety of regulations and legal requirements. These can vary depending on the region and the type of wine being transported. Reliable transportation companies are well-versed in these regulations and ensure that all necessary paperwork and permits are in order.
Compliance with regulations is essential for avoiding legal issues and ensuring that the wine is transported in accordance with industry standards. This knowledge and adherence to regulations also contribute to the overall reliability of the transportation service.
Expertise in Handling Different Types of Wine
Different types of wine require different handling and transportation methods. For example, red wines, white wines, and sparkling wines all have unique needs when it comes to temperature, packaging, and handling. Reliable wine transportation companies have the expertise to manage these varying requirements effectively.
For instance, sparkling wines are particularly sensitive to temperature fluctuations and require careful handling to avoid disturbing the sediment. White wines, on the other hand, are often transported at cooler temperatures to maintain their crispness. A knowledgeable transportation company will be able to tailor its services to meet the specific needs of each type of wine.
Enhancing the Wine Experience
For many wine enthusiasts, the journey of the wine is part of the overall experience. Knowing that their wine is being transported with care and professionalism enhances their appreciation of the product. Reliable transportation companies contribute to this experience by providing a sense of confidence and trust.
The peace of mind that comes with knowing that a valuable bottle of wine is being handled properly allows enthusiasts to focus on enjoying the wine rather than worrying about its condition. This added layer of comfort is invaluable and adds to the overall enjoyment of the wine.
The Role of Technology in Wine Transportation
Technology plays a significant role in modern wine transportation. Advanced tracking systems and real-time monitoring provide valuable information about the location and condition of the wine during transit. Reliable transportation companies leverage these technologies to ensure that wine is transported efficiently and any potential issues are addressed promptly.
GPS tracking allows for precise monitoring of the wine's journey, while temperature sensors provide real-time data on the climate within the transport vehicle. This technological integration enhances the reliability of the transportation process and helps maintain the quality of the wine.
Building Trust with Wine Enthusiasts
Trust is a key factor in the relationship between wine enthusiasts and transportation companies. Reliable wine transportation companies build trust by consistently delivering high-quality services and demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Positive reviews, recommendations from other enthusiasts, and a proven track record of successful deliveries all contribute to building this trust. For wine enthusiasts, choosing a reputable transportation company is an important decision that can greatly impact their overall wine experience.
Conclusion
In conclusion, reliable wine transportation companies are essential for wine enthusiasts for a variety of reasons. They ensure that wine is transported under optimal conditions, handling it with care and adhering to regulations. By maintaining temperature control, employing safe handling practices, and delivering wines in a timely manner, these companies help preserve the quality and integrity of the wine.
The expertise and technology provided by these companies enhance the overall wine experience, offering peace of mind and confidence to enthusiasts. As the wine industry continues to grow, the role of reliable transportation companies will remain crucial in ensuring that wine enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite bottles in the best possible condition.

USA please listen to me: the price of “teaching them a lesson” is too high. take it from New Zealand, who voted our Labour government out in the last election because they weren’t doing exactly what we wanted and got facism instead.
Trans rights are being attacked, public transport has been defunded, tax cuts issued for the wealthy, they've mass-defunded public services, cut and attacked the disability funding model, cut benefits, diverted transport funding to roads, cut all recent public transport subsidies, cancelled massive important infrastructure projects like damns and ferries (we are three ISLANDS), fast tracked mining, oil, and other massive environmentally detrimental projects and gave the power the to approve these projects singularly to three ministers who have been wined and dined by lobbyists of the companies that have put the bids in to approve them while one of the main minister infers he will not prioritise the protection of endangered species like the archeys frog over mining projects that do massive environmental harm. They have attacked indigenous rights in an attempt to negate the Treaty of Waitangi by “redefining it”; as a backup, they are also trying to remove all mentions of the treaty from legislation starting with our Child Protection laws no longer requiring social workers to consider the importance of Maori children’s culture when placing those children; when the Waitangi Tribunal who oversees indigenous matters sought to enquire about this, the Minister for Children blocked their enquiry in a breach of comity that was condemned in a ruling — too late to do anything — by our Supreme Court. They have repealed labour protections around pay and 90 day trials, reversed our smoking ban, cancelled our EV subsidy, cancelled our water infrastructure scheme that would have given Maori iwi a say in water asset management, cancelled our biggest city’s fuel tax, made our treasury and inland revenue departments less accountable, dispensed of our Productivity Commission, begun work on charter schools and military boot camps in an obvious push towards privatisation, cancelled grants for first home buyers, reduced access to emergency housing, allowed no cause evictions, cancelled our Maori health system that would have given Maori control over their own public medical care and funding, cut funding of services like budgeting advice and food banks, cancelled the consumer advocacy council, cancelled our medicine regulations, repealed free prescriptions, deferred multiple hospital builds, failed to deliver on pre-election medical promises, reversed a gun ban created in response to the mosque shootings, brought back three strikes = life sentence policy, increased minimum wage by half the recommended amount, cancelled fair pay for disabled workers, reduced wheelchair services, reversed our oil and gas exploration ban, cancelled our climate emergency fund, cut science research funding including climate research, removed limits on killing sea lions, cut funding for the climate change commission, weakened our methane targets, cancelled Significant National Areas protections, have begun reversing our ban on live exports. Much of this was passed under urgency.
It’s been six months.

Countess Chelsea x sinner female reader
Tumblr media
In the twilight's embrace, you sauntered towards Chelsea's lavish estate. Your heart pounded with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. You had heard whispers of her reputation—a femme fatale who ensnared men with her magnetic charm and left them shattered in her wake. But tonight, it was different. Chelsea had sent for you, the notorious and unapologetic sinner.
As you approached the towering gates, a shiver coursed down your spine. The air crackled with an enigmatic tension. You lifted the heavy knocker and let it fall with a metallic thud. A moment later, the gates swung open, revealing a world both alluring and menacing.
The sprawling gardens were bathed in golden moonlight, casting an ethereal glow on the manicured lawns and towering trees. You followed the winding path that led to the magnificent mansion, its opulent facade a testament to Chelsea's wealth and power.
At the top of the grand staircase, you paused, your breath catching in your throat. Chelsea stood before you, an enigmatic figure enveloped in a shimmering gown that revealed glimpses of alabaster skin. Her piercing gaze held you captive, sending a surge of electricity through your body.
'My dear, I've been expecting you,' she purred, her voice a velvet caress. 'Chelsea, they call me. And to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?'
You swallowed hard, your voice trembling slightly. 'You...you sent for me.'
'Indeed I did,' Chelsea replied, a knowing smile playing on her lips. 'Your reputation precedes you. A temptress who revels in the forbidden. I have a proposition for you.'
She extended her hand towards you, its touch sending shivers of desire up your spine. 'Become my mistress, and I will grant you untold riches and indulgence. But be warned, my love, your soul will belong to me.'
You hesitated for a moment, torn between the tantalizing offer and the perilous path it would lead you down. But curiosity consumed you, and you couldn't resist the temptation.
'I accept,' you whispered, your voice barely above a breath.
Chelsea's lips curled into a triumphant smirk. 'Excellent. We will begin our illicit affair immediately.'
She led you down a private hallway, her hand gently guiding yours. As doors opened before you, you were transported to a world of forbidden pleasures. Lavish banquets, aromatic wines, and seductive company awaited you at every turn.
Chelsea was like a spider weaving her web, luring you deeper into her lair. She showered you with attention, whispered sweet nothings in your ear, and ignited a fire within you that you had never felt before. But with each blissful moment, a seed of doubt began to germinate in your heart.
Chelsea was not just a woman of beauty and desire; she was a predator who fed on the souls of those who dared to love her. Her promises of riches and happiness were nothing more than empty words. You realized that you were not merely her lover but her puppet, a pawn in her treacherous game.
As the days turned into weeks, your once-strong spirit began to crumble under Chelsea's relentless manipulation. You found yourself consumed by guilt and despair, your life spiraling out of control. But even in your darkest hour, a glimmer of hope emerged from the depths of your shattered heart.
You knew that you had to escape Chelsea's clutches, no matter the cost. One night, as she slept soundly by your side, you slipped out of the mansion and ran for your life.
The world outside was cold and unforgiving, but you were determined to rebuild your broken existence. You sought solace in the depths of your pain, vowing never to become entangled in Chelsea's web of deception again.
And so, my dear sinner, your journey continued. A journey of redemption and self-discovery, where the scars of the past became badges of your resilience. You emerged from the darkness, not as the temptress you once were, but as a warrior who had escaped the clutches of the wicked and lived to tell the tale.

A/N: Sorry that this took so long, I had an idea, but I wasn't able to write it as I planned, and so I had to scrap the whole story and start fresh this morning. Anyway, I hope you like this!
Tumblr media
It’s late.
The sun has long since set, and the moon is slowly making its way across the sky, and the afterparty for your most recent win ended several hours ago.
This means the members of your crew have long since returned to their respective hotels, and you are, finally, alone with your thoughts.
You should get some sleep. It’s been a long day, and tomorrow marks the start of your long journey back home. But you can’t seem to get your mind to settle.
And the reasoning for that? Tech is supposed to come and visit you tonight and you can’t wait.
Once upon a time, you and Tech hated each other. You thought that he was arrogant and pig-headed. He thought that you were careless and reckless. And then one of your sponsors bought out one of his sponsors, and the pair of you were forced to do a photoshoot together.
A photoshoot where you were both shoved into bathing suits and pressed against each other in various poses.
At the end of the photoshoot, Tech kissed you. He said it was an accident, that he didn’t mean to do it. But the next night, he came to your hotel room and kissed you again.
And it kept happening, until, one night, you showed up at his hotel room and asked to spend the night.
It was the start of a whirlwind, and totally secret, relationship.
You scramble to your feet when you hear a knock at the door. It takes you a moment to make sure that your robe is secure, and a moment longer to check who’s outside the door.
And then you pull the door open to greet Tech with a small smile.
He has a bottle of wine in his hand and has two wine glasses hanging from his fingers. “Wine?” You ask as you move to the side to allow him in the room.
His dark gaze slides down your body, and then he steps into the room, “To celebrate your victory, of course.”
You laugh softly, “I only won because you weren’t racing today. You had some bike trouble?”
Tech sets the wine and glasses on the table and sinks onto the couch, “The transport company damaged the bike. It happens, but it is still annoying.”
“Well, that’s what insurance is for, right?” You reply as you walk over to him to sit next to him. A giggle falls from your lips as he tugs you onto his lap and his hands slide under your robe.
“Exactly. But I was able to watch the race,” His deft fingers find the tie to your robe and he tugs it open, “You looked amazing.” Tech’s gaze flickers down to see what you’re wearing under your robe, and he smirks, “Almost as good as you look now.”
“Well, it’s not like I can race in lingerie.” You tease as you allow him to slide the silky material off your shoulders to pool on the floor.
Tech hums as his calloused fingers slide over your ribs, “You could. I would not stop you.”
You shake your head and shift so that you’re straddling him as you wrap your arms around his neck, “Silly man, that’s not safe.” You whisper against his lips.
“Would be hot though,” He murmurs in reply as he catches your lips with his own.
You kiss him back deeply, your fingers moving to slide through his hair, “And you would be okay with that? Everyone and their cousin seeing me in my lingerie?”
Tech pauses and pulls back so he’s able to look at you properly, a small smirk lifting the corner of his lips, “Why not? You are mine, after all.”
“Possessive.” There’s no heat in your words because you know that Tech isn’t like that, not really.
“Sure, something like that.” He pulls you into another kiss, one of his hands settling on the back of your neck to hold you against him, and then his lips trail to your throat. “So,” He murmurs against your skin, “I was thinking.”
“Oh?”
“How would you feel about combining our teams?”
You comb your fingers through his hair as you consider his question, “My sister hates your brothers.”
“Your sister wants to drag Hunter into a storage closet and ride him until neither of them can think straight.” Tech corrects.
“Those aren’t mutually exclusive, darling.”
He chuckles, and pulls away to look up at you, “I hate that we spend so little time together,” Tech admits quietly, “I hate that there are races you go to where I am not invited, and vice versa.”
You’re quiet for a moment and then you sigh, “This is about the Beach race, isn’t it.”
“You crashed. You could have died. You should have died.”
“I’m fine.”
His hand moves to press against the scar that you got from that crash. He’s not wrong, when you crashed a piece of rebar pierced your side and nearly killed you. You got a very nice settlement from the race organizers who didn’t make sure that there were no hazards like that around the race, but it doesn’t change that you’re only alive because of the hard work of your surgeons.
“You’re fine now. What if it happens again?”
“You’re not asking me to give up racing?”
“I would never. All I want is to be there if it happens again.”
You’re quiet for a moment, thinking through his proposition, “I would like that.” You finally admit, “You being there for all of my races, and me being there for all of your races, would be better than having to watch the race on tv.”
“Exactly.”
“Plus,” You add quietly, “We’re pretty serious about each other, so this was going to happen eventually.”
“We are a little more than pretty serious, cyare.” Tech points out.
You lightly trail your fingers down his cheek, a small smile on your face, “Did you ever expect that we would be like this?”
He chuckles, “Never.” Tech pulls you into a kiss and then stands to carry you over to the bed, “But, I am very glad to be wrong.” You squeal as he drops you on the bed and then climbs over you and catches your lips with his one more time, “Congratulations on your win,” He breathes out, “Let me give you your reward.”
You know that this conversation isn’t over, you and Tech still have a lot of details you need to work out, but for now, you can put that to the side in favor of enjoying Tech and letting Tech enjoy you.

A Night for Hunting Ch. 13 -Stargazers in Romania
Tumblr media
T/W: Alucard (Ultimate) x F!Reader, sexual harassment, romance, some angst and then fluff, courtship, the 'great outdoors' @alastorhazbin On AO3 Words: 4231
Thank you for your patience while my husband and I went for our LONG-awaited honeymoon! It was everything we needed and more! EXHAUSTED from it and the catching up with life once we got home. Excited to write another ‘dating’ chapter for our favourite comfort vampire! Even he deserves some happiness. Forgive any formatting errors and typos. This chapter was half-written on my phone during our flights and train rides. Partially inspired by the glorious mountain landscapes during hikes on my own honeymoon.
You took your hand from the glass and turned from the pitch black nothingness outside towards your company.
”Did you know, when I said I’d like to see your old homeland one day, I wasn’t asking to be packed onto a plane in the middle of the night again for a vacation to Romania?”
Alucard sat across from you with his legs crossed bearing a face-splitting grin, twirling a glass of wine. You rode together in a luxury SUV, with wide plush seats and a privacy screen separating you from the driver.
Glittering feline eyes roamed your exposed legs and shoulders with an appreciative glint. "Your night clothes suit you well. How would you like to move in with me and be my home chef and meal partner?" The grin got too wide for his face.
You choked on spit with a sputter that sent you into a hacking fit. Bristling with indignity at the chauvinistic comment, you retorted after regaining your wits, "And what kind of 'stay-at-home chef' would I be?" You crossed your arms high over your chest to provide coverage that the lacy nightgown didn't to shield yourself from King 'Leer.' The shameless brute licked his lips as he stared pointedly at your core, hidden behind your crossed legs.
Swine!
He sipped the burgundy drink.
Riling you up was ever the game for the royal arse… although… perhaps you did purchase these clothes hoping to wear them for the vampire one night. Oops...secret's out. You glanced up in horror.
Alucard's eyes were nearly slits with the self-congratulatory smirk as he maintained the lecherous leer.
ARGH! HE REALLY WAS READING YOUR MIND! Why did he have no concept of privacy?! Get out!
He chortled merrily at your plight.
The dog insisted on landing at Bucharest Airport before departing by car to wherever the destination was, but if you had to guess, it’d be somewhere of great sentimental value to him. Why didn’t he simply make some jet pilot take you there directly? Inconveniencing others was well within his usual mode of operation.
You sulked. Would you ever bring this arrogant, irreverent man to heel?
"You would prefer I cradle you while I bring us to our destination at speed instead?” He asked smugly, forcing you to remember the last time he stole you away for a 'date,' and you grit your teeth.
He continued speaking. "This is not a Catholic land, so there was no issue with Integra granting transportation assistance." The legs of the wine trailed sluggishly down the sides of the glass after he took another sip.
What do the Catholics have to do with anything? Denmark was not heavily into Catholicism either, but it wasn't like Alucard's words always needed to make sense. He spoke in riddles, but was correct in assuming you’d rather sit comfortably while you were chauffeured instead of getting tossed around mid-air.
"And you also didn't have to scare my friend off again like that to get me on the plane earlier," you complained, referring to the neighbour who had a crush on you. Alucard was with you in shadow when he appeared and invited you over for a movie. The vampire silently turned to murky sludge and hovered behind you to stare the mortal down from his solidified spectral-state, which you only realized after the man ran away screaming.
"Insolent boy. Your brave young suitor had already forgotten so quickly and required a reminder." His voice was butter, but 'brave' sounded more like he was referring to the guy’s stupid audacity when Alucard spat out the word. “He was fortunate I did not end him.”
You huffed at the needless territorial display as if Alucard was a beast in rut. At least the ‘insolent boy’ was human, and any human relationship would make more sense than what you and the vampire have. Being with Alucard will not be easy. You were stuck on how to present your relationship to the world. Alucard did not expect you to cut your ties to the human world to be with him, so you kept up with visiting with family. He was not someone you should introduce to them (neither had he pushed for this), even if they kept pestering you about who's making you smile. You were different species and thoughts about the future were fraught with obstacles.
The heat in his gaze was different from earlier. The vampire stared unblinkingly, still as a statue. He was far too bold to only steal glances in your direction and it was at times difficult to keep looking at him. That otherworldly gaze was too knowing, his unnatural beauty so striking. You observed the perfect facial symmetry, the angular cut of his jaw and the unblemished skin that was smoother than white marble and just as cold.
Gulping, you looked away first, as always. He was equally stunning in his other forms. You never managed to figure out what Alucard said to you back then. Romanian was such a foreign tongue and the phrases he uttered were so short, they were over before you knew it. You didn't even have the first idea of what words to put through a translator.
He had been silent for the last while, gazing out the window with a wistful expression. You turned your attention to the darkness outside and wondered what he saw. Only the occasional flash of light from buildings raced by to illuminate the scenery, which was also punctuated by periodic street lights. You flipped your gaze back at the soft, forlorn look on his face and frowned.
Then you were passing through a sparsely populated city. Barely even a town by your standards. From time to time, antique structures came into view that were prettily lit, but they were mostly spaced out by homes, open roads, and what you assumed to be countryside. Quaint. You could feel the passage of time as you drove by.
You took the opportunity to scrutinize Alucard further while he wasn't paying attention. His face was propped up on a fist, dimpling his cheek around the lip like it would with humans. Despite the luminescent crimson eyes and the hint of fangs behind his lips, the resemblance was startling. At first glance, the vampire's appearance really was breathtaking. It was almost enough to make you believe in Lucifer, the most beautiful fallen angel. When coupled with his unsettling demeanour and haunting aura, everything about him was just wrong and it set you off.
You were entering the city proper now, into a residential area littered with small street shops. Bright red roofs adorned pale buildings. The additional light allowed you to see him better.
The longer you spent with him, the more apparent it became that the vampire wasn't wholly terrifying. Neither was he an empty beauty without substance. Time and again, he proved his merits –he was well-read and open to delving into the more modern series that you enjoyed, then held engaging conversations regarding those works. He was interested in your opinions about happenings around the world, whether those were political or not, and partial to discussion, frequently providing well-rounded and thoughtful old man insight.
His charisma was such that you were unable to remain angry with him despite his frequent indecorous words and outrageous actions. Nope, you weren't only interested in Alucard for his good looks, you told yourself.
"Studying me?" His eyes curled with levity as his gaze found yours again. "I was human."
"I know that," you muttered. "You're just… unlike anyone I'd ever imagined myself involved with."
"Hn. There is no one else quite like myself." He returned to his surveillance of his former home.
Again with the ego.
The vehicle made a slight right turn to leave the boulevard behind and a sea of lights flooded your vision. You whirled to see what the source was. History was before you. A series of partially crumbled stone walls lined the path, culminating in a massive tower sitting atop a squat, square base.
“What are those buildings?” You asked with excitement as you twisted in the seat to see the vampire smiling lightly at you.
“You are looking at the old Royal Court and Turnul Chindiei (Sunset Tower),” he stopped, lost in thought.
He lifted a lock of your hair and let his fingers run down its length before he finally kept speaking. You weren’t ready.
"I was in Somerset recently on an assignment. Little one, I created a new fledgling... a police girl." Vermilion pinned you intently, making you squirm, but nothing hit harder than the shock as the meaning of his words settled in. You gasped.
The mood shifted abruptly.
There was another woman, a virgin whom he drank from. You sat silently with disbelief, at a loss for words, but should you have felt that way? Who did you think you were? As if you were the only one he'd ever have? Or even special? The jealousy that spilled into your mind and tainted your thoughts was instinctive and uncontrollable. Rage at his betrayal battled with unspeakable hurt. Why were you surprised at this confession when your partner was basically a Demon God, who could have anyone he wanted for himself? Tears came to your eyes. It was only mere months ago that he offered you a place by his side, and now he gave it so easily to another?!
"Little human, nothing has changed between us."
LIES. You couldn't even speak as your mind spiralled somewhere darker with your pain. Every cheater made excuses. How could he do this? Why was he telling you this now as he took you somewhere out of the country, where you'd be reliant on him? That was the intent.
Your companion was quiet with the guilt of his admission. No...you brushed away the stray tears that fell with the back of your hand and looked again. He was wearing the face he made whenever he was being affectionate with you. It was so tender.
You didn’t want to look at him anymore.
The tension was thick as the vehicle continued towards your destination without you replying to his previous words. You sobbed and scrubbed away more liquid salt. He gave you space. You let him into your home and fed him! You looked forward to his visits even without him doing those things to you because you enjoyed his company! You hiccuped while thinking back to all that transpired between you.
You were a grown woman and not some freshly pubescent teen.
Neither did you fall into romantic relationships easily. Despite his many shortcomings, you chose your vampire for a reason and Alucard had not yet given you one to regret your decision. You two were stronger than this.
Why...? You nearly asked him. But as you recalled his behaviour earlier, the answer was right in front of you. You’ve known for a very long time. You thought back to his longing expression as he stared out at the Romanian countryside and how he lost his human life an eternity ago. Alucard was immortal and you did not agree to stay by his side forever. This time it was your turn to see through him. Your ancient vampire was lonely beyond words.
Your chest ached as you snivelled.
"Even now, you weep for me?" He whispered, pulling you into his lap to hold. How was it possible for the pure-hearted like yourself to exist in this disgusting world? To remain untainted despite everything, including being with him.
“What does this mean for us?”
“I have a duty to my fledgling until she matures into a full vampire, but I will continue to visit albeit with less frequency. You are my darling little one and nothing will ever change that, no matter what the future may bring.”
It was impossible to shake the feeling of uncertainty about yourself, but you were the one Alucard came back to for years. You pressed a soft kiss to cool lips and relaxed into your lover's embrace before twining your arms around his torso. Again you accepted him as he was. Vampire and human sat quietly together, providing tranquil comfort to each other in their mutual pain.
“Unless you want to come with me.”
You glanced up through wet eyes at the sudden comment with a confused look.
“Sweet, I meant it, come live with me at Hellsing.”
--------------------
Centuries had passed and though his city had modernized, the land itself was unchanged. Those were the same peaks and cliffs, the same game trails and twists in the river. The landmarks he used in his last life to mark the way remained as they were.
His human was wondering where the two of you were headed as you stumbled after him before bouncing off his back when he came to a stop. He steadied you with a gloved hand. “We will camp here. I will bring you sustenance and you will rest the night.”
“We are only going to be eating and sleeping tonight?”
“Is there more you would prefer?” The teasing was obvious in his tone.
Extracurricular activities were not what you were insinuating. Of course a vampire would take any opening to veer the conversation towards sex. Seduction was in his nature and this vampire would gladly accept any opportunity to lay between your legs.
As with the first time he abducted you for an overseas date, Alucard had provided clothes appropriate for the autumn weather. You were too glad to cover yourself from his lustful gaze.
“Tomorrow we will make for Poenari. It will not be an easy walk for you.”
You perked up at last and fixed a saucy Cheshire grin his way. “Oh? You’re bringing me to your old castle for a date and you’re letting me hike during the day? You’re almost being romantic and sweet.”
The vampire was flippant. "Your feeble human eyes cannot see any of the land's splendor in the night."
Your smirk turned sour. "Gee thanks."
--------------------
Something was approaching, dragging across the ground with a steady, rhythmic murmur that made the foliage rustle. It sounded similar to… your heart stopped. Could it be a ghoul?!
You rushed to your feet and tottered backwards as you seeked your vampire’s presence for protection immediately. No twin scarlets were to be seen. You were alone in the middle of nowhere in Romania with barely any moonlight. Nothing except blackness and the symphony of nature after dark for company.
Alucard?!
A million thoughts raced through your mind. This mountainous place was inhospitable to a city dweller such as yourself. It was frigid at night. The insects surviving in this weather wanted to gorge themselves on you along with other predators that were certainly present in land this wild. The surroundings were teeming with cliffs and a single misstep could lead to your demise, though there was water all the way down there. If you somehow made it through the night, the sun would likely scorch you too. Hell, even with GPS, you could still find yourself lost at times in London.
But nevermind any of that right now! What if a ghoul was stalking you?! There was no way you’d survive by yourself.
Alucard?! You threw the thought out there again in panic with a head full of doom. Where was he? You trusted the vampire enough to accompany him to his homeland. How could he abandon you in the woods like this, even if his absence was probably intended to be brief?
“I recall you enjoy venison.” The Shadow King cleared the vegetation hauling a dead deer by a leg. Glowing orbs watched the tension dissipate from your posture. You let out a sigh of relief at the sight of your scary vampire.
When did he leave to hunt a deer? Mere seconds had passed. How quickly could he kill something…
“Did you truly believe I would leave you to be devoured by lesser predators? You are mine.”
Your lips flapped.
He took a seat and began to butcher the animal, staring into your eyes as he skinned it. Blood pooled under the vampire. You cringed as he flayed it open, then expertly cleaved and dismantled the body into neat quarters –legs and ribs. He let the innards drop from the body cavity into their own pile. A campfire assembled itself. The knife passed through the carcass with practiced hands repeatedly, turning it into proper cuts which he cooked over fire before offering you the best strips.
You accepted his offerings with thanks, but stayed hyper-aware of the surroundings. You believed yourself unafraid of the dark, but outdoors, everything set you off –the sounds of nature abounded with rustling branches, even the howling wind was more sinister. Your eyes darted around and you peeked behind with worry as he continued grilling your meal.
Scuttering closer to the vampire, you whispered, "What was that? Did you hear that?"
"Only animals humping in the undergrowth." His expression was full of amusement as his hands stopped for a moment. "Night is my domain. I will provide for you, little one, so that you may relax and enjoy yourself. I told you before that you are safe when you walk the night with me."
Licking your lips, you looked at Alucard with wide, worried eyes, even when you knew it to be true. So you stayed in close proximity to your protector. Strange. Normally, you were a feast for nasty critters and mosquitoes once the sun set. Up against him like this, there was nothing. It seemed even the most insignificant lifeforms knew to steer clear of this creature, even more so than with the fire.
It crackled and dancing shadows flickered through the clearing, the resulting light throwing those regal features into sharp contrast. Fragrant aromas of meat cooking mingled with the sounds of snapping and sizzling. You watched one another eat. The inky pool –blood from the deer– was trailing towards Alucard and disappeared into him. Somehow it was natural to you, even mesmerizingly intimate to watch him drink.
Crack!
You launched into his arms with a terrified squeak as he once again laughed at your jumpiness. You scrambled to sit upright against him, not leaving his side only because you didn’t feel like feeding biting insects anymore. It wasn’t because you needed his proximity in this frightening gloomy forest.
Alucard was warm. He felt most alive when he was with you, almost like a normal person. He tilted your chin and leaned in. “You scaredy cat. I suppose you will have to follow me into the dark,” he noted with a faint grin.
“For this trip only!” you quipped. Picking up a piece of cooked venison, you shoved it between his lips. “Now shush.” Then you settled in on your side next to Alucard with your head on his thigh.
The melody of rushing water far below soothed away your fears and the clarity of the night sky allowed the stars to peer through. A billion pinpricks of light witnessed a pair of Stargazers alone in the world, one red and one white.
You sighed with contentment as your eyelids grew heavy. Drooping, you caught yourself and tried to ward off the sleep.
“I am watching. Sleep.” The rumbling baritone left you in a daze.
“But what about you? I’ll be okay…” your head lolled the other way.
Cool fingers took your chin. "I do not require sleep. Much less would I do so at night. Prideful little human, rest."
The flames licked at the chill air. Warmth and security suffused you as you drifted unconscious on a belly filled with the food your lover prepared, your head cradled by his lap. Your vampire remained by your side the entire night to watch over you.
--------------------
You woke to soft petting massaging your scalp and weaving through your locks.  Lifting your head from its comfortable pillow, bleary eyes found the first signs of dawn on the horizon and you were grateful for some visibility at last. The twinkling stars faded into hiding for the day once again.
After washing up with the water Alucard brought, his palm landed once more on the crown of your head.
"My little human,” he crooned.
You looked away shyly and smiled to yourself at his sweet nickname of habit for you, making quick work of tying the scarf around your neck.
“Come.” He led you uphill through the dark until the row of giant conifers broke apart.
The scent of fresh pine filled your nose and you gasped as the subtle rays of sun revealed the misty splendor below. You two were perched by the edge of a cliff that plunged to unseen depths. Fortunately the heights and narrow ledge did not cower you –there was no way Alucard brought you all the way here only to let you tumble to your death. What took your breath away was the formidable castle ruins below nestled in a blanket of rolling peaks and valleys that were fed by a winding river. Wisps of mist floated by, shrouding tracts of the dramatic slopes in mystery, a living painting of epic proportions.
Wow.
“Your country is beautiful, Alucard. It's so magical I almost don't want to hike down and lose this view.”
“Isn't it splendid?” He grinned. Was that pride in his face? He stood there glowing in the ambient light like a seraph, quietly staring out at the ravine before he turned to you with a gleam behind orange lenses. “I suppose daybreak too possesses its own charms much like twilight,” he added.
You smiled fondly at his words, mentally somersaulting with happiness from this concession, before turning your attention to this banquet for the senses that demanded to be committed to memory.
As the sun climbed the horizon, the veil of mist gradually receded and the shadows were beaten back, casting the land in dreamy golds and pastel beauty. Boundless nature surrounded you from each direction, backlit by pink and orange skies.
The heavens slowly brightened and the fiery mirage of the spectacular autumn foliage came into sharp focus. A pair of falcons soared the rosy sea above and screamed their shrill cries to each other. You pondered the hike through such extravagance, immediately deciding it would be worth the brutal terrain.
You got as close to the ledge as you dared, as if being mere inches closer would help with absorbing the experience better. Yet how often did a mere mortal get to be this close to divinity? Your eyes sparkled with glee as you unknowingly clutched his sleeve with one hand while you edged over. Alucard sensed your awe as you took in the grandeur of heaven and earth –your parted lips and wide eyes were a testament to your wonder. His gaze skimmed your delicate features, pausing to narrow his eyes as they focused upon your lips, so soft and luscious they begged his attention.
He was aware you were self-conscious when with him in public. Thus you enjoyed his company most when you were alone out in nature together, far from civilization with no one else present to stare at you as a couple. No prying eyes or uninvited whispers. Such trivial matters, but the King preferred for you to savour your time with him, as he with you, without your unwarranted concerns detracting.
You caught him staring. The brazen vampire did not pretend to be doing anything but. He was taken by your curious, trusting expression, your foot right at the rim of the cliff with no more room for folly. Another step and you would fall to your proverbial death. But you came here with Alucard. He was your safety net. You leaned into him and met his lips gently. Cupping his face with both hands, your thumb trailed down that nose which always pokes your cheek as you kiss. He nuzzled you with it and exhaled with a faint rumble. If anyone told you a few years ago that you’d be watching the sunrise at Dracula’s castle with the accursed demon himself, you’d have laughed in their faces.
The remnants of the fabled castle loomed over a narrow ravine, imposing and severe. You studied the buses rolling in from a much higher vantage point. There were many more people than you expected milling about. Probably tourists. They were tiny and distant enough to resemble ants. So distant, they might as well not exist.
You smiled and curled into a king's embrace with a million subjects at your feet, composed of ancient evergreens and the flaming kaleidoscope of deciduous reds, oranges, and yellows. The breeze rustled the royal mantle that was his duster and it swayed gently. His tresses framed his features with silk as the light of day hit his eyes.
Everything was perfect whenever this vampire swept you away. Alucard had a way of making it seem as though you were the only ones in the world and it belonged solely to you and him. Your problems were just as far away and non-existent as the people below.
The warmth of the blazing palette inspired a giddy optimism and it blossomed in your gut. What would the future with Alucard bring? You weren't sure either, but you knew as long as you were together, it felt as though nothing could come between you.
~To Be Continued~
Next Chapter: Interlude II
Notes: Yes, Alucard takes her down there and they hike to the castle together with a magnificent autumn backdrop. He shows her around the ruins of his castle and lets drop a few memorable snippets of his old life. The parts of the trip through the past (passing through Targoviste and the castle) are partially for himself and not her. A reminder to himself of how he failed (his perspective) his people. But I didn’t feel up to (or want to) getting into all that and felt this was a good place to end the chapter.
The chapter is my little attempt at symbolism. Alucard is revisiting his old life's transgressions and failures and putting them aside to watch the sunrise with his Reader. He is a creature of the night, but even if he detests the sun and believes himself beyond redemption, the light he found in her was beautiful and he has hope for a new beginning with her as they grow ever closer. And in floral language, red is for romance and white is for innocence. You may cringe now.
Alucard is lonely AF in his immortality and Seras was a spur of the moment turn for him when the opportunity arose during an assignment. He didn’t expect her to refuse his blood to become free of servitude. Reader however, is the one who he truly wants at his side, even if it isn't for eternity. He wants her to come to the decision to turn willingly.
Ahem, what the vampire king finds romantic can be different from a ‘normal’ person, but he wanted to take care of her. That was what I was trying to get across. Yup he sliced and diced a dead animal into pieces while looking into her eyes, telling her she’s his, getting massively bled on, and then slurped up the blood that was soaked into the earth. #LetHimCook (not dropping Sukuna references here, nope!)

I want you
Toji Fushiguro x male reader
Toji hits a big goal with his company and celebrates with reader

8’O clock strikes the clock.
I look away from the clock down to my nails, picking out some dirt from under my nails that I got while getting here. By the way, here is ‘amore’ , the Italian restaurant that Toji and I always wanted to visit.
We never really got the chance because Toji’s too busy with his job and besides it was expensive so we both agreed to only go here once we had a celebration.
And there was a celebration, at least I assume.
He called me up today and said he got us a reservation at the restaurant because he had big news to tell me.
Toji and I have been together for 6 years now. We both met at this cafe. It’s a pretty funny story actually. I went and got my drink when all of a sudden I bumped into Toji causing me to spill my drink over his suit. I apologized deeply and all Toji did was chuckle. He offered to get to his office to clean us both up. And the rest was as they say history.
Toji started getting a liking towards me because I didn’t treat him like some high almighty which all his workers and or friends do. Toji owns this big company where they help companies with transporting their goods. I don’t know much about the economy and stuff but I guess it is a big deal.
But back to me sitting on the patio of the restaurant. I was playing with my curls a little because my phone had nothing entertaining for me and I checked the straps of my heels 6 times already so there was nothing time consuming in that anymore. Toji is 5 minutes too late but I don’t blame him. His job is very demanding and it was kind of my fault causing this boredom by showing up 20 minutes earlier than planned.
But the playing with my curls stopped as I saw the patio door open and saw the man walking in. In came walking Toji with a smug smirk in his suit. His two top buttons were opened probably because of the warmth he got from hurrying up that much. He held one singular flower in his hand which was probably for me.
“Hey honey”
He said pulling the chair across from me and sitting in front of me with a big happy sigh.
What an entrance
“Hi,” I responded back.
He handed me the flower. “For you doll”. I wanted to grab the flower but before I could reach it with my hand he retracted his hand. “Wait” Toji whispered and stood up. He leaned over the table and cupped my head with one hand. He went and put the flower in my hair.
And don’t worry, Toji knows not to randomly touch my hair. In fact I taught him how to take care of hair like mine.
He sat back down. “There, Beautiful”
I giggled. “What’s all this commotion about Toji?” I asked giving him an easy segway when announcing his big news.
“Well, the meeting today confirmed it and our company can finally set outside of Tokyo”
“Really?” I was shocked.
This was a very big deal for Toji since he worked sleepless nights for this moment. And when I say sleepless nights, it almost felt like I lived alone when I was asleep.
“Baby, congratulations” I said, giving a little clap out of excitement. My happiness caused his smile to turn wider making the scar on his lip curl upwards.
“Thank you, honey,” Toji said. He went and stuck his hand up to get a waiter towards us. “Give us your finest wine, please,” He said.
We dined and talked for hours. We had many laughs while eating the finest cuisine which Toji insisted on paying for.
“You know, honey,” Toji started making me make eye contact with him.
Him and his dark eyes.
“, I am very thankful for you and that you always stick by my side” he said letting out a big sigh while looking down.
“You soft piece of shit” I said, making him chuckle.
“Aaaah you’re right I’m getting too soft for my own liking,” Toji said, hiding his face in his one hand.
“But I like it,” I said while taking my last sip of wine.
Toji went and paid while I waited inside the car. I was in the driver's seat because Toji said I couldn’t drive with how much wine I consumed. I went and connected my phone with the car to play some slow music since I was in the mood for some.
The car door opened and in came Toji. He went and got the car started while staring at me. I blushed a little while looking somewhere other than Toji because of his eyes on me.
“I was so focused on your pretty face that I didn’t notice what you were wearing all night,” He said.
I was wearing a sleeveless jumpsuit which shows my back. It was a gift from Toji that he bought for me as a sorry present for being too busy with work. And lets get things right I’m not a sugar baby but I can’t turn down a good present.
I looked into his own eyes.
“Do you like it?”
He scoffed, turning into a laugh. “Scratch that I fucking love it”.
Toji went and drove away to our house.
As we were driving I was looking out the window while Toji was having small talk.
Toji stopped talking though and as I was about to ask what was wrong I felt a hand resting on my thigh. He started moving his hand slowly caressing my thigh, getting a long sigh out of me.
We were home eventually and walked up to the door of our house after we put our car in the open garage.
I grabbed the keys out of my bag but got distracted while Toji was running kisses down the back of my neck.
“Baby” I said, giggling a bit.
“What?” He said showing a full on Oscar performance with that line.
I struggled to put the keys in the door lock because of Toji’s kisses.
I finally could open the door. I didn’t have much time to walk in tho as Toji already picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist.
The movement got a long laugh out of me.
I rested my arms on his shoulder making deep eye contact with him.
“I want you [name]” Toji whispered while keeping eye contact with me.
Those words already got to me as I leaped forward for a kiss. His rough lips against my soft brown pink ones. He went and put his hand on the back of my neck deepening the kiss.
He walked through the hallway while taking his shoes off by clinging one foot to the other and flipping them off.
He went and carried me towards our shared bedroom while taking my heels off.
He put me on the side of my bed and sat me up. His scarred lips went towards my neck and then my collarbone.
He opened the closing of my jumpsuit easily with his rough hands. Toji went and pulled the jumpsuit down revealing my brown chest and nipples.
He stared at me.
“Fuck I love you”
He went back down and started licking one of my nipples.
“fuck Toji” I whined letting him know how much pleasure he was giving me.
He went and undressed me more and covered the revealed skin with soft peppery kisses. He did this all the way down to my calves and because he was already at my calves it meant that I was fully nude for him to see.
“T-Toji~” I managed to whisper while looking up at home from my laying form.
He went back down to my lips and kissed them softly.
“I’ll be gentle,” He whispered in my ear before undressing.
After all his clothes were off all his muscles were able to be seen by me. The scars on his abs and his arms.
I went up and caressed those scars, being completely enchanted by their beauty. Apparently this got some kick out of Toji as he let out a low groan.
He picked me up and threw me further to the middle of the bed and spread my legs. He looked down at the light brown muscle ring waiting for his fingers. He went and sucked on two of his fingers. Wetting them before letting his index finger inside of me
“A-ah~”
He went and put the other wet finger in and started going in a scissor motion.
Toji went on with this movement until I was fully loose enough for him.
He went and aligned his dick with my hole as he placed a kiss on my temple.
It was quiet for a moment until he entered.
“AA-aH~”
Toji stayed still until I gave him a signal for him to move.
He started with slow thrusts while his head rested on the bed beside mine.
My moans and his low groans were the only thing filling the room.
Toji stopped for a second and went back to standing up while still being inside of me. His arms snaked under my groins and his hands to my back. He picked me up and started thrusting hard into me.
I never moaned louder in my life and I was kind of surprised that Toji loved me this much.
He went and put us back on the bed while still moving inside of me.
“Toji I-I think I’m gonna~” “-me too”
His thrusts started becoming sloppy and my dick started going numb signaling that we were both about to cum.
Toji’s groans started getting louder and his movements became more uneven.
“T-TOJI~” I moaned loudly before covering both our chests in white liquid.
“FUCK” Toji groaned before releasing inside of me. His legs started shaking violently.
Toji started getting relaxed and laid his head on my chest. He went and pulled out, his thick cum oozing out of me. He gave me some soft kisses at my temple.
We both breathed loudly coming down from both of our highs.
“Toji” I said
“?” He went and looked down towards me.
“I would love a rose bath you know” I said to him making him dry chuckle

Sweater Weather || Davin McDerby
Day One of the October Dreams 1K Follower Event
Pairing: Davin McDerby x F!Reader
Summary: Summer might be over but your feelings for Davin won’t fade so easily.
Word Count: 2.2K
Warnings: Drinking, language, Davin being tooth-rottingly sweet
A/N: This was partially inspired by the song Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood and my undying devotion for Davin. Shout-out to @a-reader-and-a-writer for assuring me the opening was ok, and to @runnning-outof-time as I know you love Davin too <3
Tumblr media
Coffee, alcohol, cigarettes; the things you desire most are so often bad for your health.
Davin McDerby is no exception.
You met him in the summer. A scrawny kid, thousands of miles away from home. Skinny ankles and pink lips unreasonably delicate for the harsh angles of his face, russet hair streaked with copper and pale skin turning darker by the day. He was far too handsome for his own good.
You still remember the white t-shirt he was wearing that first day on the Montauk beach. How it clung to his lithe frame as he wrestled with Robert in the sand. The silver chain peeking out from beneath his collar daring you to look twice.
And you had looked twice. It was impossible to avert your gaze, even if it felt a little too much like staring into the sun. Like so many beautiful but dangerous animals, the warning you beheld in Davin’s bright blue eyes was undeniable.
Step too close and you might get burnt.
Because while his elegant veneer might have evoked the memory of a renaissance painting, in reality, he was an accident waiting to happen, all wrapped up in a pretty bow.
A self-proclaimed fuck up, Davin McDerby has the world in his hands but his head is firmly in the clouds. Full of overconfidence and bad decisions, he lives like there is no tomorrow. His sole purpose: the pursuit of happiness.
You didn’t want to be just a stop along the way.
He comes to you now after dark, a bottle of cheap wine clutched in his hands and a smile that lights up the October night sky. When he calls your name, you realise with a start that his pleasantly lilting accent has no less effect on you than it did back in the summer.
“Could’a given me the heads up.” Without waiting for an invitation, he drops onto the seat opposite you at the picnic table. “Didn’t know you were back in town.”
Music and chatter from your uncle’s bar drifts out into the cold night air, but you barely notice, so keenly attuned as you are to Davin’s presence. His company instantly drives away the chill and transports you back to the long summer days you’d spent together.
“Hello Davin. How are you?”
Despite your sterile, perfunctory greeting, his grin remains. He seems genuinely pleased to see you. “I’m grand. You comin’ to the party?”
“What party? Aren’t you supposed to be working?”
This summer had been Davin’s first in America, but it quickly became apparent that he would have no trouble fitting in. The locals fell in love with him and it was only a matter of days before he’d sweet-talked your uncle Cormac into giving him a job beside you behind the bar.
And just like that, your vow to keep your distance from Davin had been rendered obsolete.
He’d sidled up to you at the beginning of his very first shift, a dish towel slung over his shoulder and a twinkle in his eye as he’d asked, “do you know how to make a Sex on the Beach?”
You’d rolled your eyes at the cheap shot, but nevertheless had proceeded to watch in fascination as he mixed the drink with excessive flair and a distinctive laugh, his red shirt riding up to reveal a swath of pale skin. Somewhere in the back of your mind, a voice had pleaded, give him a chance.
Perhaps that had been your mistake.
Davin unscrews the wine before taking a long mouthful, straight from the bottle. When he offers you a drink, you shake your head, pretending not to notice how his plump lips glisten under the glow of the patio lights.
“Cormac gave me the night off. Some of the boys are havin’ a Halloween party. You should come.”
“Is it fancy dress?” you ask, though you have no intention of taking him up on the offer. You only came here tonight because you’re a glutton for punishment, knowing very well that Davin was likely to be around.
“Of course,” he says, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“So where’s your costume?”
“This is me costume.” He gestures to his dark sweatshirt and pulls up the hood dramatically, his angular face standing out like a pale moon against the darkness. “I’m the Grim Reaper, see?”
It’s fitting, you think. Past experience gives you little doubt that his appearance is a portent of trouble to come.
“Where’s your scythe?”
“Left it at home.” Davin shrugs. “So, what d’ya say? You wanna go?”
You turn your gaze to the ocean, the roaring of the waves echoing the rush of your blood as you remind yourself why going anywhere with Davin is a bad idea. “I don’t think so.”
“Ah come on now. You’ve got to. Haven’t you missed me? I’ve missed you.” There’s nothing in his tone to suggest he’s telling anything other than the truth.
And that’s the problem.
Davin has never been like the rest of the boys with their painfully obvious attempts to get into your pants. In between your joint shifts at the bar, the only thing he ever seemed to want from you was your company, dragging you along from one adventure to the next; pool hopping, surfing lessons, road trips. And now, Halloween.
Waiting for your answer, he taps his fingers on the table and pouts. “You finally grace us with your presence after all this time, but now you don’t wanna hang out? Come on, it’ll be a laugh.” Almost as an afterthought, he adds, “the costume is optional.”
“All this time? Davin, it’s not even been two months.”
“Yeah well, it feels like longer.” He takes another swig from the bottle and you find yourself inclined to agree.
As the Manhattan trees started shedding their leaves and the end of summer bled into the beginning of fall, your thoughts never strayed far from Davin. You thought that after hightailing it back to the city, you’d be able to shake him, that the distance would somehow help you to forget. But like cotton candy caught between your teeth or the last grains of sand stuck in your sneakers, the memory of his rosy cheeks and freckled shoulders followed you all the way back to New York.
Davin lapses into silence, occasionally sipping from the bottle as he watches you intently across the table, the ghost of a lop-sided grin beginning to form across his lips. With every passing minute it feels like you’re fighting a losing battle.
Unable to conceal your unease any longer, you reach across the table and swipe the bottle of wine from his hands. “Would you stop staring at me?”
“Now, why would I wanna do that?”
Before you can offer a suitable response, Davin rises to his feet and rounds the table, pulling you up from your seat. His hand is surprisingly soft and warm as he laces your fingers with his own.
“What are you doing?” Despite your protest, you make no attempt to shake him off.
“I’ve decided.”
“Decided what?”
“That you’re comin’ to the party with me. Won’t be any fun on me own.”
Something tells you that even without you, Davin would hardly be on his own. But against your better judgement, you let him lead you away from the bar, that little voice in the back of your mind traitorously gleeful that he’s managed to draw you in all over again, just like a moth to the flame.
Tumblr media
The big, white-stone house overlooking the beach is crowded when you arrive, the party already in full swing. The music, loosely themed for the occasion, is too loud and you have to lean in close to hear Davin over the speakers.
“You want to drink or dance first?” he shouts.
“Drink first, dance later,” you reply, thankful that the party is so busy that no one will notice your lack of costumes. The guest list boasts a colourful array of witches, vampires and monsters; even with his hood still drawn up, Davin looks as underdressed as you.
“Fine, but you owe me a dance.”
The drinks flow freely over the next few hours, but the two of you spend most of your time talking, abandoning the makeshift dance floor to squeeze onto the end of a worn leather sofa, so close you’re practically sitting in one another’s laps.
“I’m glad you came back,” Davin tells you after a while, his warm breath tickling your neck as you battle against the rising volume of the sound-system.
“Temporarily,” you remind him, uncertain of whether it’s the alcohol or Davin’s proximity that is to blame for your current light-headedness. “Why’s that?”
He tugs down his hood, finally, and leans in closer, the lengths of his soft hair brushing against your cheek. “Well, after you left without sayin’ goodbye, I thought I’d done somethin’ wrong. It’s usually my fault, you know. Drivin’ people away. Story of me fuckin’ life.”
You draw back to look at him properly and find his usually carefree expression marred with concern. “It wasn’t about you, Davin. I had to go back to college. And I’m just…I don’t know. I guess I’m bad with goodbyes.”
Lies. Lies. Lies.
He shakes his head, as if he can see beyond your facade. As if he can read your innermost thoughts. “Ahh look, I know I made mistakes. And I feel bad about them. Really, I do.”
There’s no hiding the apprehension in your voice, or the pounding in your chest when you press him for more details. “What mistakes do you think you’ve made?”
Almost absently, his hand moves to your waist, specifically to the patch of bare skin below the hem of your cropped t-shirt. You suppress the urge to shudder.
“Well, for a start I was so busy with the ‘pursuit of happiness’, I never noticed what was in front of me.” His gaze travels across your face.
On bated breath and hyper-aware of his fingers tightening - almost imperceptibly - around your waist, you prompt him to continue. “Which was?”
Davin blinks slowly, his blue eyes even more intense than usual. “You.”
“Me?”
“Yeah.” He laughs, uncharacteristically nervous all of a sudden. “Cause I never got round to kissin’ you, did I?”
You’re certain you misheard him over the music, even as bells are clanging in your head. “What?”
“Kissin’ you,” he repeats with more conviction this time, his lips twitching up at whatever he sees in your expression. “I mean, didn’t you ever think it was funny?”
Your heart flutters, impatient for him to get to the point. “Think what was funny?”
“That we never hooked up?”
Your mouth opens and closes at least three separate times as you search your whirling mind for something to say in response. You’ve given far too much thought to that very question over the last few months. In fact, it’s the reason that you ran away.
Even though you’d been painfully aware that Davin would wind up breaking your heart ever since that first day on the beach, you had been waiting on tenterhooks for him to make some kind of move.
But the summer had worn on and nothing had happened. As far as you were concerned, he’d simply put you in the friendzone and you had no intention of trying to claw your way out, despite how much you were attracted to him. Despite how much it hurt.
You knew he’d slept with probably a dozen other girls, so you couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with you. What were you lacking? He was content to spend his days with you, but not his nights. Not his bed.
“Umm. Are you gonna say somethin’?” Davin asks tentatively, interrupting your racing thoughts. “Cause if I’m honest, you kinda look like you want to murder me.”
“Don’t tempt me, Davin,” you warn, overcome with the urge to do just that. “Why are you only telling this now?”
He grins, squeezing your waist even tighter, something about your reaction giving him the confidence he needs to continue. “I always thought you were too good for me. I was scared if I made a move I was gonna fuck everythin’ up. But tonight feels like fate or destiny or some other spooky shit. And the way I see it, I might not get another chance.”
“You’re an idiot, Davin McDerby.”
He captures your face in his hands. “Of course I am. Don’t sound so surprised.”
Slowly but surely, he closes the distance, his lips as delicate as petals as they brush over your own. You’re no longer aware of your surroundings, the lights and music fading into the background. The only sound is the pounding rhythm of your heart. The only sight is Davin, wide-eyed as he withdraws to study your reaction, uncertainty cast across his striking features.
You loop your arms around his neck and pull him back in, deepening the kiss that you’ve been waiting for, all this time.
When the two of you finally part, Davin rests his forehead against yours, his eyes soft as they meet your own and his smile warm and gentle. “Now you have it.”

If you have a minute, could you write something with Diluc and praise? Just wholesome, letting him know you’re proud of him and he’s doing a good job
[[ Summary: Diluc works hard, is kind, tries his best, and is deserving of many good things. Some praise is one of those good things. ]]
[[ Word Count: 1'032 ]]
With a deep, exhausted sigh, Diluc walked into the Winery, hanging up his coat, taking a moment to pause, holding onto the coatrack for a brief second, if only to have that much less weight to hold him down, to have to stay upright.
A long night of his being the 'Darknight Hero' [he, admittedly, found the name somewhat cringy, but not enough that he'd do anything about it] followed a morn of getting everything set up in the Winery after the last... event that happened, making sure everything was clean and clear before the customers flooded in, an agonizing day of paperwork and trying to negotiate to get his wine transported to Liyue, and planning a meeting with Ningguang considering this... And a long, drawn-out evening, a dinner with the Winemakers' Guild, where they all did everything they could to get his sponsorship for their own agendas.
The sun had long since sunk and the moon hung high in the sky when he got home. Every bit of him ached. But, he was home, and while there was always more to be done, his body and spirit were no longer willing. He could catch up tomorrow morning after he finally got some rest [even if there was never any actual catching up. Getting the most high-priority things handled, and chipping away at everything else.]
When someone said his name, in a blissful tone, he paused, and instinctively straightened his back, turning to look at the stairwell you walked down, with a smile on your face. He couldn't help but sigh in relief- it was nice to see you, even if he wasn't sure he was much for conversation or company.
You always understood that, sometimes, he just didn't have it in him. He was a busy man... and admittedly overworked. He wasn't very good at letting others handle things for him. It was self inflicted, but also not such a simple task to figure out.
"There's my handsome man, after doing so much good. Are you feeling okay?" You asked as you walked towards him, grabbing one of this hands with both your own.
He struggled for a moment, before replying with a weak smile, "I'm just tired."
"Of course you are. Have you eaten?" You asked, and he nodded,
"I'm just tired." He explained, and without another word, you started leading him to the bedroom- He took the moment to close his eyes and just let you, not needing to worry. He knew you had every wholesome intention towards him, and this wasn't something he needed to fear.
For a moment, he just let his eyes close- he was being led. He didn't need to be wary, not in this little, quiet moment.
He was safe. A rare, but never unwelcome feeling.
Diluc could tell, just from the habit of walking around the Winery, the change of the sound that his own feet made, and the slight creek of the door, he sighed and opened his eyes. His room was dim- which was exactly how he preferred it. He only realized how close he was to overstimulation, but perhaps he was still buzzing with the day's anxiety. But it was coming to a close, it was almost over.
He walked ahead and sat on the edge of the bed, pulling off his boots, tossing them off to the side- before he could get his tired hands to try and work at his clothes, you were already on it, getting off his coat, his shirt, untying the ribbon in his hair. He closed his eyes for a moment, the relief of his hair no longer tugging on his scalp was a blessing.
It wasn't haphazardly tossed about, instead was put away to be cleaned at a later time, so he didn't need to worry about the visual clutter. He watched as you walked back from doing this small, but more than meaningful task for him, and stood right in front of him. Confused, he stared at you as you cupped his cheeks.
"I love you."
He smiled, "I love you too," though it sounded a bit odd with how you squished his cheeks. He felt... silly, but he didn't really mind. Not right now, anyway.
"You work so hard, and always come back safe..."
He felt a warmth in his chest, but it was dwarfed by the confusion,
"Why are you saying this?" He asked- not suspicious, only confused and curious. "Did something happen?"
"You just deserve to be told how good of a man you are."
Admittedly, Diluc didn't feel like he was that good of a man. He wasn't a bad person, but there was always a haunting guilt taunting him, that he wasn't doing enough, that he wasn't enough,
"You've always been more than enough. You've given everything you had and then some. But even without that, I'd love you anyway."
He exhaled softly, and opened his mouth to say something back- anything, even when his brain was so frazzled, only to have a finger pressed over his lips,
"No, no more talkie. You've done enough of that today, haven't you?"
Exhaling through his nose, he smiled. He didn't need to say anything, or even nod. Even if you let him.
"Well, actually one more talkie. Do you want to cuddle?" You asked, "I'm sure you're tired."
"Would you mind?" He asked,
"Of course not."
"... Even if you were the big spoon?" He asked, a little shy. He wasn't massive, but he also wasn't small.
"Of course not."
And even if it was, maybe, a little comedic, and he took care to pull his hair over his shoulder to get as much of it out of the way as possible, resting his hands over yours as they wrapped around his torso, he exhaled softly, relaxing in the soothingly cool room. He'd pull up the blankets when he was ready to completely fade, but...
Right now, he just wanted to doze, to rest, as he could hear you whisper sweet little praises, chaste and loving.
He was human, in the end. Even he wanted to hear praise, if only it was once in a blue moon, it was...
Nice.

i was watching king the land and was suddenly hit by a wave of inspo for some diluc brainrot (utc)
modern au whereby diluc is the new ceo of the dawn winery, a wine-making company famed for its expensive but high-quality alcohol. he had just returned from his six-year-long bachelor's and master's studies in sumeru (according to the press) and had been missing from his office for the longest time during then. no one had seen the ceo, not since his father passed away in a terrible accident when he was eighteen.
enter [f/n], diluc's new secretary. she was newly hired as things began to get hectic in terms of paperwork, and elzer couldn't possibly shoulder all that workload by himself. the tasks were then split between the two secretaries: elzer was in charge of finance and sales, and [f/n] was in charge of networking.
as such, [f/n] spent her time pretty much glued to diluc's side, accompanying him on visits and meals with investors and business partners within the region as well as across the world.
while working closely with his new secretary, he found himself falling for her. she was diligent and compassionate, and had a penchant for taking care of others when they were struggling in either their work or personal life. she was also indifferent to the fact diluc was born rich and showed him how regular people lived. (she once had to show him how to take public transport, much to her amusement.)
and then cue one night whereby the two had to share a hotel room due to a misbooking of rooms, and diluc insisted that she slept on the bed for the night.
[f/n] raised a brow at her superior, "and where will you be sleeping tonight, then?"
"the couch," he answered, and both heads turned to survey the plush sofa that was definitely way too small and narrow to accommodate to diluc's height and wide build.
"that's not happening," [f/n] said with a shake of her head, "you're never going to be able to fit on the couch, let alone sleep comfortably on it."
"i'll sleep on the floor, then," diluc answered.
she snorted, "i don't think you'll find it comfortable, sir." she turned her head to the queen-sized bed, which was big enough to fit two people side by side. she turned to him, "let's just share the bed."
"i don't wish to make you uncomfortable," he shook his head.
"and i don't wish to have rumours going around that i'm bullying our ceo during a business trip," she said, "anyway, it's just for one night."
[f/n] fell asleep quickly, leaving diluc lying on his back stiffly on his side of the bed, his mind spiralling into a frenzy as he tried not to panic. his brain set itself on the grill to fry, however, when [f/n] rolled over and snuggled up against his side.
his face burned bright red as he froze up, his breaths caught in his throat. never had he thought he would find himself in such a situation, where the girl he liked was sleeping on the same bed as him and was now hugging his torso.
he turned himself around slowly so that he was now facing her, careful as to not wake the girl. wordlessly, he reached a thumb out to push some stray hairs out of her face, then cupped her cheek gently. her breaths came out gentle and shallow, fluttering across his neck as she moved her head to rest in the crook of his neck.
gently, he wrapped his arm around her frame and pulled her closer to him. if this was the only time he could revel in his deepest fantasies, then so be it. he would hold her carefully in his arms until the sun rose the next morning, and he would sear this moment into his memory for years to come.
let's just say [f/n] was not prepared to wake up seeing her superior's sleeping face inches away from hers, and she has just about a mini meltdown in her head about this.
awkward blushy episodes ensue where the two would be too embarrassed to be within the other's one metre radius.
will an accidental confession episode happen? or will one of them accidentally overhear the other talk about how they like and cherish the person? idk, we'll see about that!

Exploration - Part 1 (Astarion x Ilwyn)
1 of 3
Summary: “What in the hells is this?” suppressing a moan, his eyes darted up to find a glorious sight. His lover supped at the elixir in an unfamiliar desperation, rosy droplets running down a round chin and racing across the hollow of her throat.
“Pheromone infused wine,” she hummed, adjusting the robe that already revealed one bare shoulder. “The vendor assured me it’s a natural aphrodisiac.”
TW: non-explicit sexual content, mentions of past abuse, dissociation, language, etc.
WC: 1.4 K
A/N: yoooo, I haven't written smut in awhile and decided to add to the mountain of Astarion x Tav work their already is, lol. So have some Ilstarion fanfic (smut begins next chapter)
Memories were complicated, often tainting how one viewed many facets of present life.
At least that was how Astarion regarded his own. Two hundred years had soured his outlook on many things as life was slowly reclaimed. Autonomy, individuality, sex. All were concepts he’d attempted to regain in the months after the brain fell yet struggled with greatly.
Who he was still remained a mystery, what he wanted, how he felt…The vampire spawn felt like he was shrouded by invisible fog, attempting to live an entirely new life. One regaled in the shadows once more, despite the fact that he had company now.
He was grateful to not navigate the unknowns alone, his sorceress lover still firmly planted by his side. Ilwyn was understanding in many ways others wouldn’t be, a flower emerging from the muddiness of her own past trauma. Not to mention how young she was for an elf, still learning many things about herself as he was himself.
“I’ll be right here, my sweet star.”
She’d cooed into his ear one night after a particularly bad nightmare had destroyed his trance. Her body was warm, the scent of honeysuckle permeating her skin and bed clothes after a soothing bath. No one had ever held him like that, soothing and sweet until his rigid body began to relax against her. To be loved was to be seen, or so he had learned.
Wynnie was endlessly patient and understanding, allowing him to make choices for himself and to allow space when it was needed. Sometimes, the vampire spawn needed to clear his head, to feel the cool kiss of night tickle his cheeks and tousle his curls. If blood still pulsed beneath his skin. He was positive he’d be red as the fruit of a sun melon, leaning over the wrought iron barrier of the balcony.
How their innocent touches quickly became heated, motions filled with unbridled passion. How he felt himself drift away as Ilwyn lay spread out in nothing but slinky small clothes, her hand drifting to his breeches…
He deigned to be filled thoughts of his lover, to drown in her visage for hours, molding her body against his own in a passionate exchange, kissing and licking and nipping. Yet, the young elf carefully rolled them over so he lay with his back upon the down feathered mattress. Dismounting herself, Wynnie rubbed firm circles into a broad shoulder as Astarion’s ashen brows knit in confusion.
They were together, melding into one another so naturally and deliciously. Yet, allowing ruby eyes to shutter once had transported him into the hallows of Szarr palace, stretched across crushed satin as sure lips collided with curve of a stranger’s neck. A blonde woman, a man with bronzed skin, it never mattered who shared that damned bed.
Sex was a means to an end. Always.
Fingers would wrestle with his belt, frantically unlacing his breeches as their pleasure was pursued. And Astarion let it happen, allowing unfamiliar hands wrap around his icy length as dark eyes glazed over. There had been pleasure at first. But that was before the consequences had settled into the folds of his mind.
He was bait.
It seemed that only three months hadn’t been long enough to adjust centuries old habits.
“Stay with me, love,” warm fingers danced across his tensed bicep, noticing how pallid flesh was goose pimpled. She’d never realized that was even possible for the undead. “I’m right here.”
Words became difficult to express as his breathing steadied, arms wrapping around her torso. Astarion rested his cheek against a freckled tummy, radiating in her warmth. He craved her though found himself drifting away like a corpse in the sea. Tears began to well in ruby eyes, wincing as his withered heart hardened in his chest.
“How about we crawl back into our night clothes?” Ilwyn began, fingers tracing the ridges of the scars carved into his back. “I’ll fetch a bottle of your favorite red and we can read that book of elvish poetry we found.”
“I don’t want you to think…” his words trailed out, cold puffs of air tickling her belly. Those muscular arms wrapped around her middle as the sorceress gently shushed him. Even without the tadpole, she could practically read his mind. “You’re gorgeous. I want to be buried you in, truly. I have to…relearn.”
“I understand. We’ll take all the time that you need.” Blunt nails gently scraped against his scalp, tousling soft curls that soothed him.
“Gods,” he hummed, large hand gliding to rest on the curve of one hip, “You’re too good for me.”
“Let’s get dressed, my sweet.” A kiss was pressed against the crown of his head as the woman gently slid away, slipping her a periwinkle chemise over shorn ginger waves before his tunic was tossed across the bed, “I’ll warm the kettle and check on Scratch.”
“That sounds lovely,” he sighed, slipping his stitched tunic back on, “Then I’ll read you all the poetry I can find.”
He didn’t wait for an answer before thrusting himself onto bare feet, scrabbling against hard wood before the stairs begin to softly creek. That was how he found himself settled upon their balcony, nestled outside the city and overlooking the sea. The more time spent in the wilds, the more of an appreciation for nature he’d developed.
Sometimes he understood Halsin’s virtues more and more.
The night enveloped him, fresh air lapping at the tip of his nose to remind him that he was alive. In some capacity at least. He’d leave for the Underdark tomorrow at dusk while his lover ventured to Waterdeep. The wizard swore he’d an answer to their search for the sun. Astarion doubted the man’s abilities but didn’t question that of Ilwyn’s.
If there was a way, she’d find it.
And he hoped he could recover himself along with the sun.
Tonight had been his plan to do that, to get lost in Ilwyn as he craved, doting on every curve and divot of that beautiful body he adored. Though that didn’t stop his focus from slipping, his presence sliding into the cracks of existence as the means to escape.
He needed time, they both knew that. Though it didn’t quell his racing or thoughts or the cascade of tears falling down ruddy cheeks below in the kitchen. Astarion swallowed hard, pointed ears picking up on little whimpers from below before he’d slinked downstairs himself.
The kettle hung above a raging fire, steam puffing out of the ceramic stem as Ilwyn sat curled upon the floor, idling rubbing Scratch’s ears while she wept. The mutt’s head popped up when the vampire appeared, ears equally alert.
Lithe fingers unhooked the teapot from it’s perch, settling it upon the table. A freckled face was buried in white fur, refusing to look upon her lover as he sank to his knees. It was his turn to be of comfort, cool hand running down the length of a freckled arm.
“It’s nothing to do with you,” his own voice wavers, thick with emotion as she shivers beneath him. “I love you more than anything on the very face of Toril.”
“I know that,” Wynnie sniffled, sitting up as she allowed her fingers to twine with his own. “I only wish I could help more. Could be more healing.”
“Healing comes in time, I’m afraid.” A smooth thumb circled her knuckle for a moment before he tugged her into his arms, “But hells, I don’t want you to think for one second that it has anything to do with you.”
“What if I found a way to…entice you?” she pulled back, brushing a stray curl from the brow that arched upward. “To keep you grounded.”
“That’s rather appealing.” He growls playfully, though slightly apprehensive. He’s open to suggestions but equally nervous. “What have you in mind?”
“I, erm, I’m not sure,” she admits bashfully, nuzzling into the crook of his neck, “But maybe while I’m gone-”
“If you bring this up to Gale I’ll smite the three of us,” he sneered, nervous at what such a comment could possibly mean. The wizard hadn’t any a right to hear of what happened in their bed chambers.
“I meant in Waterdeep,” the blush emblazoned across full cheeks burned against his skin. “Maybe I’ll peruse a boutique or apothecary.”
“Ahh,” then Astarion was scooping her into his lap, cradling the small elf against his chest. “Whatever it is, let's not think of now. Instead, let's enjoy each other as we are.”
For the rest of the night, they basked in the other’s innocent company, though the gears in Ilwyn’s mind had begun to grind.

Late for Halloween but introducing a special boi.
Demidicus, his human au design
He's a BNSF diesel engine owned by a wine making company, which he transports goods for. In recent years as the company grows he's been doing extra work, such as supplying building materials for new vineyards and even being rented out to other railways for goods work.
I might be able to sketch his engine version tomorrow.
And this diesel enjoys his fuel a little.. Differently. 🤫
He's a vampire

A Violent Peace
"I want those tanks," he said as his saber came down towards her head, but the flat of Clarissa's rapier knocked it aside just enough for it to pass a few centimeters past her ear and she retreated a step.
Lord Henri Mattemeo of Escobas was dressed in his military uniform of tight black pants, thigh high boots and a dark purple jacket with gold piping. He looked every bit the defender of his land and from the sweat beading on his smooth shaven dark face he seemed intent on proving it.
Clarissa wore her Sea Fox dress uniform of white pants, black boots, blue double breasted jacket with lines of gold buttons running up her chest, and a pair of thin glasses from behind which her impossibly pale white eyes refused to focus on anything. Her rapier raised once again, the point brought up directly between his eyes and her own. "The prove it, Lord Mattemeo."
Off to the side of the opulent sitting room their wine glasses were left half full on a side table, the bottle forlornly alone nearby to keep company with the plush leather chairs which they had so recently occupied. The skin of some exotic beast, black and vicious, lay before a roaring fire which kept the cold of the raging winter storm beating at the windows at bay.
Mattemeo was much larger than her, two meters of muscle and arrogance to her one and a half of reserved grace, which is why he had chosen this contest. Assuming equal skill, as he was right to do considering that they were both career soldiers, his mass would easily win out in a contest of blades. And it was going as he had predicted.
Every time their swords clashed Clarissa was forced back, one step at a time. Now her back was almost against the glass doors leading to the balcony and she could hear them rattling in their frames as the snows and winds pounded against them demanding entry to the palace.
He came again, his heavy cavalry saber once more coming in from above to beat away her defenses, and it was the moment that Clarissa had been baiting. Her parry switched from four to one. Her hand raised, the tip of her blade dropped nearly vertical to the ground and she met the blow. It was laughably ineffective and never to be used against strikes to the head, much less overhand ones, but she had been watching his strikes, studying how he liked to come down.
His saber rang hard, not against her blade, but against the basket hilt of her rapier, knocking it the sword completely out of her hand, but his saber rebounded up a few centimeters out of his control. It was enough.
She stepped into his guard, grabbed the font of his jacket in one hand, and with a movement like waves rolling over rocks she threw Mattemeo to the ground. His sword went clattering across the waxed wodden floor and she rolled over him, planting her knee into his chest and kneeling on him, her left hand pressed against his throat. They were both breathing heavy, and he stared up at her with a look of shock which slowly broke out into a wide grin, "Marry me."
"I would prefer not to," Clarissa said calmly, then pressed her hand a little harder into his throat. "Do you yield?"
He nodded, laughing, "I know when I'm bested. I suppose the Free World's League will have to do without those tanks." She stood and offered him her hand, which he took as he levered himself back up to standing and straightened out his now bunched up uniform jacket.
"In this place, at this time, the medical transports will serve your people better, Lord." She slipped her rapier back into its scabbard and went back towards the wine.
"If you won't marry me will you at least be my mistress then?" He said this with a rakish good cheer, and it stopped Clarissa mid step.
She turned her head, facing him not with her eyes, but with her ear, half hidden under the fall of white blonde hair that had come loose from her bun during the fight. She smiled. "I will return. When I do I will be bringing with me a dropship converted for use as a hospital. If you purchase it and leave it as is then I would be impressed with your character."
Mattemeo laughed again, "I thought you clanners were all about the wars and the fighting. Your whole culture is based on it."
At that Clarissa's smile fades. He was right. An entire culture based around violence, blood and death as a means to every end. It was the core of her society, even, as a Warrior, her life. And yet... "The IlClan has emerged. Peace and unification is finally possible. We should start acting like it, quiaff?"
"Aff," Mattemeo laughed. "Come. Let's finish our wine and toast to peace wherever we may find it."
