A fave restaurant is changing management, so we went for yumcha one last time before the current owner leaves. Dressed up a little for the occasion, and ended up with a matching dessert by complete chance! Normally they give us egg tarts at the end, but today was PUMPKIN egg custard pastries!
I ran out of time getting ready this morning and skipped out on headwear, but would've liked to put an ivory headdress with this one. Alas.
Outfit Rundown: JSK, Bolero: Alice & the Pirates Socks: Innocent World Accessories: GR8, Neant, Omnia, Bloodmilk, Betsey Johnson, Vintage, SkinKandy Shoes: Windsor-Smith
Point of Coord: Vampire Princess Goes to Yumcha
We received complementary Pumpkin Pastries after the meal for Halloween. They usually give us egg tarts, so this was an interesting switch! Australia doesn't really "do" Halloween, so this was a surprise, especially at a Chinese restaurant!

I think depending what you like—if you like history then I would hit up the Imperial War Museum—2nd best museum I’ve been to in my life, and Churchill’s War Room. British museum if you want to see a bunch of stolen stuff 😏—it’s actually quite interesting and has some really cool stuff
Kensington Palace is nice, Harrods is worth the visit
Westminster Abbey Parliament and Big Ben a right next to each other. Trafalgar square has lots of protests at night—last time I was there it was when Russian invaded Ukraine so that was what the protest where about
Changing of the guard—but look at the schedule before you go—Windsor Castle is nice and a short train ride away and the town is lovely—there is a lady that works at St George’s chapel on the grounds of Windsor and she hates Megan!
Hamleys is a 6 story toy store and has nice small souvenirs if you’re bringing anything back for kids
All the little neighborhoods have different vibes
Shopping at Oxford street. Piccadilly if you want to see the tiniest version of Times Square ever
If you want to go to a premier league game I have used P1 Travel a few times—a bit pricey but you only get to experience that kind of atmosphere once. If you want to go to a women’s game tickets are super cheap—we went to both Arsenal men and women last time I was there and I’ve been to Tottenham since my son loves them🤮
Get the pass for the tube-it covers most of the zones around London
Skip Warner brothers unless you’re a Harry Potter enthusiast
A taxi is gonna cost a lot from Heathrow into the city so take the tube
Depending on when you go remember the time over there—it gets dark early in late fall and winter
If I think of anything else I’ll let you know
Have fun!
Ps they have a great Chinatown if you like Chinese and eat a roast dinner on a Sunday in a pub and try fish and chips!
Wow thanks!
How about restaurants and bars in central London? Near the river.

Wedding Photography, Videography and Bridal Hair & Makeup Service in Gothenburg, Sweden
This is a Gothenburg wedding. We came to this small and beautiful city of Sweden from London, England to provide our wedding photography, videography and bridal, bridesmaids & relative hair and makeup service for a lovely bride and groom who grew up in Sweden with Hong Kong, Chinese heritage in the summer.
This couple contacted us nearly 4 years ago before Covid19 pandemic and they had to postponed their pre-wedding and wedding 2022 summer time. We have also provided them pre-wedding photography and videography, and hair styling and makeup service in Windsor, Richmond Park also Mayfield Lavender Farm.
It was a full day coverage we have provided on their wedding day, which combined both Western culture and Chinese culture. It was challenging because it was very windy by the pier, where they had their outdoor ceremony. We started our day from 5am. Gothenburg is a harbour city. The wedding venue and hotel just located by the pier. It was refreshing.
Feel free to take a look at their pre-wedding photos and love story video on our website:
The hotel is called Quality Hotel 11 & Eriksbergshallen, in Gothenburg, Sweden. After the hair and makeup process finished, we took their shoots during door games, tea ceremony, and group photos with bridesmaids and groomsmen also mothers & fathers of the bride and groom.
Before the civil ceremony, we went to a charming park in Gothenburg city centre, and took more photos and video clips with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The sun came up at this point, introduced some warmth on their photos.
Their wedding was impressive because of the view overlooking the harbour and Gothenburg bridge. It was meaningful to go back to the place they grew up to have their wedding after they moved to England. Majority of their friends and family are living in Sweden. There were about 200 guests presented in their wedding. The ceremony took place on the pier which belongs to a restaurant, called River Restaurant On The Pier. The couple also gave more tea to elderlies and had a grand banquet there.
When the sun went down, we took a lot of amazing, sweet and romantic couple portraits with video clip. The lighthouse by the pier, the restaurant lightings and those little lamps on the pier helped us to create a nice vintage look for the shoot.
We finished our work with pleasure. It was really enjoyable to look at their photos and videos. Gothenburg is a lovely city. The couple was easy-going and nice, which also made it easier to capture great shots.
We wish them a happy married life ever after. Hope that we will meet them again to take their lovely pregnancy and newborn baby photos in the future.
Feel free to take a look at our Facebook page, Vimeo page and our website to see their more photos.
Thank you
vimeo
River Restaurant On The Pier。

Factors a Consumer Consider When Choosing a Restaurant in Windsor
According to a recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Denver Daniels College of Business, consumers are no longer lured to a restaurant based on food or location alone.
The study revealed that consumers take three main attributes when choosing where to dine, in addition to having a convenient location are:
Food quality
Ambience
Service
Now the question is do you operate a high-end restaurant?
Depending on your restaurant concept, consumer expectations of price or quality may more heavily influence their decision to dine. Food quality is still key, but the overall diner experience may play a vital role in their decision to rate a restaurant more favourably.
However, sometimes consumers would be willing to pay more for labour-incentive cuisine than another type of cuisine. For example, people would spend more dining at a French restaurant than ordering Chinese.
Make sure you weigh convenience and price-point when trying to attract diners. Lowest price menus may negatively impact consumer perceptions, whereas supplementing a higher price cuisine with experiential details may support your restaurant’s growth.
Ultimately, creating the best experience for your diners comes down to how well you understand the customer.
You must enhance your marketing to emphasise your restaurant's key differentiators that will appeal to the tastes of your ideal customers.
If you are planning for your restaurant expansion, you must choose a site that will likely attract more customers.
Considering all these factors, if you find the ideal Indian restaurant in Windsor, The Indian Restaurant is at service. Located at South Yarra VIC, we are one of the best Indian restaurants near Windsor, offering scrumptious Indian meals with the fastest Indian takeaway services.

“Downtown Restaurateur Slain By Enraged Ex-Employee,” Windsor Star. October 24, 1941. Page 3. --- Chinese Gives Self Up After Detroiter Is Shot ==== MURDER IN LUNCHROOM AT NOON HOUR IS WITNESSED BY NORMAN EANSOR --- By Norman Hull NATHAN VECSLER, 63, of Detroit, was murdered by an enraged ex-employe as he sat in the lunchroom of a downtown department store during the noon-time rush today.
Jay Shan Suey, 22, Windsor Chinese, is held by police as the man who fired the fatal shot into Vecsler's back.
Vecsler died in Hotel Dieu a few minutes after he was shot while sitting in the employes' lunchroom in Consumers Warehouse, McDougall and Pitt streets.
Suey, reported to have been released last June from the Ontario Mental Hospital, London, Ont., gave himself up at the police station.
Police took a .32 calibre revolver away from him as he attempted to turn it on himself in the station.
OTHERS MENACED Several other employes and Norman D. Eansor, former city controller, were menaced by Suey as he fled, waving the smoking revolver, after shooting Vecsler, police were told.
Suey was formerly employed as a chef by Vecsler, who was in charge of the Consumers employes' lunchroom.
The Chinese was discharged by his victim last winter because he refused to get a board of health restaurant employes' licence, other employes stated.
Mr. Eansor was sitting talking to Vecsler at the time of the shooting.
The two men were sitting close together on lunch counter stools and the fatal shot narrowly missed striking Mr. Eansor.
FIRED BUT ONE SHOT The Chinese only fired the one shot, but he menaced other employes as he fled from the lunchroom, witnesses said. He is believed to have gone direct to police headquarters.
SAID HYSTERICAL Suey was hysterical when he entered the police station with the gun in his hand. "I killed him and now I'm going to kill myself," he is reported to have shouted. He had placed the revolver on a desk and was about to pick it up when overpowered by Arnold Giles, police switchboard operator.
Examination of the revolver revealed it contained one empty and four good shells. News of the murder spread rapidly through downtown Windsor and a large crowd quickly assembled at the scene.
Other employes confronted by the Chinese during his brief but sensational visit to the lunchroom were nervously recalling how they scattered when faced by the enraged man.
MR. EANSOR'S VERSION The most accurate eye-witness account of the shooting was that given by Mr. Eansor, who so narrowly missed a fate similar to Vecsler's.
"We were sitting at the counter, so close that our shoulders were rubbing.' Mr. Eansor recounted. "We were busy talking and did not notice anyone enter the lunchroom. Suddenly there was a report and both Vecsler and I looked up. He didn't know he had been shot.
"I saw some smoke and first thought a firecracker had gone off. Then we saw a man running down the side of the counter and saw him point the gun at a waitress.
"Vecsler looked at me and told me to call the police. I ran looking for a phone in the store and finally dashed across the street to my office where I phoned the police," Mr. Eansor continued.
Other employes in the lunchroom related that Vecsler collapsed in his seat just as Mr. Eansor left to phone. He was rushed to the hospital and died upon admittance to the operating room. GIRL IN DANGER One of the employes menaced by the gunman as he fled from the lunchroom was Miss Ida Carlesso, 878 Howard avenue, a waitress.
"I saw a man enter the lunchroom through the kitchen and . walk beside the counter past Mr. ecsler and Mr. Eansor," related Miss Carlesso. "They did not notice him enter as their backs were to him."
"I didn't pay any further attention to him until I heard the shot. As he ran past me out of the lunchroom he pointed the gun at me. I was so frightened, I couldn't tell you what I did then," she added.
Police records show that Suey, whose National Registration card gave his address as 132 Windsor avenue, was released from the Ontario Hospital last June.
The Chinese is known to have been bitter about his discharge from the lunchroom and to have threatened revenge on Vecsler, the man who fired him.
Following his discharge from the mental hospital, he was placed under the custody of a London Chinese.
Detectives attempted to question Suey after he gave himself up but he was too hysterical. All he could say was that he wanted to take his own life.
The shot, fired from close range, is believed to have penetrated Vecsler's lung.
He was bleeding freely when carried from the lunchroom.
Suey is believed to have dashed direct from the scene of the murder to the police station. He arrived there only a few seconds after receipt of Mr. Eansor 's call.
The Chinese was waving the still warm death gun as he ran up the police station steps. He scattered citizens, just coming out of police court, as he waved the weapon.

Chanukah 5780
First night: tiny lights in deep darkness.
On the first night, we had friends over, ate latkes, joked and laughed, and felt the warmth of community. I took the picture once everyone had gone, once the candles had burned down and only the oil lights were still lit.
Description: a large silver menorah is guttering in a darkened room. The shamash is broken, so it sits on the foil beside the menorah. In front of it, a smaller pewter menorah has already burnt out. It has a decorative oil jug hanging from the front. The two lights--the one light for the first night and the shamash--are reflected in the window.
Second night: family.
It was our first Chanukah as a family of three, officially: although he’s been part of our lives for two years, the adoption was only finalized this December. In practical terms, it doesn’t change our daily lives in any way, but it’s both legally and emotionally significant. In name now as well as in practice, we are his parents and he is our son.
Description: The large silver menorah with the broken shamash and the shorter pewter menorah with the decorative jug are lit for the second night of Chanukah. Beside them, a white stone menorah decorated with the wax drips of previous years is also lit. The silver menorah is lit with multicolored oil vials, the pewter menorah is lit with metallic red candles and a metallic red shamash, and the stone menorah is lit with multicolored Tzfat-style candles. The room is well lit and cheerful, and the lights are reflected in the window and in the foil underneath.
Third night: Christmas Eve
Somehow the Christmas leadup was just too much this year. Maybe it’s because the Jewish holidays were late this year, so there was less time for the irritation at those who refuse to look at a Jewish calendar to wear off before they demand that we dedicate two months to acknowledging their calendar. Maybe it’s just the sense of rising danger in being visibly other in America, which has increased again this year as it has every year of the past decade. Maybe it’s the fact that Chanukah fell during break this year, so there wasn’t the usual amount of school festivities.
Description: The silver menorah with the broken shamash and the pewter menorah with the oil jug are lit for the third night, the silver one with multicolored vials of oil and the pewter one with red-and-purple patterned Tzfat-style candles. The picture is taken from an angle that doesn't’ show the reflections of the candles in the window; instead it shows a comfortable plaid living room chair with a big blue cushion.
Fourth night: exhaustion.
We went out with friends for whom getting Chinese food on Christmas is a meaningful tradition. Food and company were great, but on the one day of the week I didn’t have to work at the mall...we got Chinese food at a restaurant in the mall. Eventually we declined to continue back with them to watch Die Hard, went home, lit one menorah without much fanfare, and conked out.
Description: close up on the small pewter menorah lit for the fourth night with alternating pink and blue candles. The silver menorah behind it picks up the gleam, standing out against the dark window.
Fifth night: the radical in the mundane.
I don’t want to write about anti-semitism; my news feed right now is filled up with it, is choking on it. But this week it’s been impossible to talk about being Jewish without mentioning it. I’ve spent so much of my life aware that my identity--first just my Jewish identity but then all the intersectional layers that have piled on throughout my life--is always going to be a mixture of danger and joy. I was always aware that one of the most defiant acts there is is to continue to live authentically, not just in defiance of danger but from simple, genuine love of doing what we do. The famous photo of the menorah in the window through which one sees Nazi flags is important, but so I think is this one, an unremarkable, mediocre-quality picture of a family and their pets in the home we choose to fill with love, not fear.
Description: a poorly-focused picture shows the silver and pewter menorahs lit for the fifth night with oil and candles in a rainbow of colors. The comfy plaid chair is in focus, and Cooper, a large orange and white tabby cat, is standing on the chair looking at the camera. His eyes are opened wide, his ears and whiskers are perked forward, and his tail is raised in greeting. He is more interested in potential human interaction than the candles on the table next to him. In one pane of the window, the reflection of the candles is multiplied, and in the other my wife can be seen sitting on the couch.
Seventh night: motzei shabbat.
The night I didn’t take a picture was Shabbat Chanukah, when we lit the shabbat candles immediately after the Chanukah candles. I wish I could have shown a picture of that: my grandmother’s silver candlesticks are nearly as tall as the silver menorah that towers over our other chanukiot and is sized for larger candles or vials of oil. This year I brought them to school for my students to compare with the more modern examples of shabbat candlesticks available at the synagogue gift shop. The candlesticks weren’t the only meaningful piece my family brought from Germany to America, but I asked the students to imagine why these candlesticks would be among the items someone might choose to bring. Their answers circled around the idea that the candlesticks’ value wasn’t just as items of silver but as emblems of identity. Of course, fourth graders didn’t express it in those words, but the concepts are present for them, as they are for me.
Description: a bright and cheery photo of the silver and pewter menorahs, almost fully lit. The silver menorah with the broken shamash is full of multicolored vials of oil; the pewter menorah is loaded with red and purple candles with a yellow and orange shamash that seems to be leaning to one side.
Eighth night: mazal tov
On the last night of Chanukah we drove to Boston to attend my cousin’s wedding. Getting there was a flurry of preparation: the hotel where the group rate was booked couldn’t provide an accessible room that could accommodate a family of three, so we ended up booking elsewhere; our son didn’t own any formalwear, so we bought him a suit, shirt, and tie, and I had the joyful experience of teaching him to tie it (he wanted a simple knot, but the tie turned out to be too long for a four-in-hand and he came back for lessons in a half-Windsor). We failed to find him matching shoes in time, so he wore the shoes I bought to get married in. They were as uncomfortable for him as they had been for me, but they gave him the motivation to stay at the reception: “If I have to wear these shoes, I’m getting dessert out of it.” The spectacular dessert buffet did not disappoint him. The wedding was both a loving celebration of my cousin and his bride, and a joyful get-together of branches of families that live far apart, lead busy lives, meet rarely (I chatted with people I hadn’t seen in a decade, and in three decades), and are still part of each other’s story.
Description: a fully-lit menorah sits at the center of a small table piled with flowers, set for a bride and groom. The table glows in the foreground; behind it the room is washed in low, orange light; wedding guests are dancing on a crowded dance floor in the background.

What Is Hi-Tea?
You often hear the term Hi-tea or High-tea used interchangeably in your daily life, but many of us think that is exactly what it is. So the word High-tea is a concept that originated from English hi-tea that involves having tea with different side meals in order to bridge the gap between the evening tea and dinner. Hi-tea involves tea, with different cuisines, vegetables, cheese, bread, cakes, donuts, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, burgers, meat, soup, crackers, traditional food, and many other items. It includes all the things which we take with tea and also at dinner. Hence it is the combination of all the items available in evening tea and dinner presented together. - Wedding Photography, Videography and Hair & Makeup Service in Gothenburg, Sweden -
This is a Gothenburg wedding. We came to this small and beautiful city of Sweden from London, England to provide our wedding photography, videography and bridal, bridesmaids & relative hair and makeup service for a lovely bride and groom who grew up in Sweden with Hong Kong, Chinese heritage in the summer.
http://www.foreverlovejourney.com/
This couple contacted us nearly 4 years ago before Covid19 pandemic and they had to postponed their pre-wedding and wedding 2022 summer time. We have also provided them pre-wedding photography and videography, and hair styling and makeup service in Windsor, Richmond Park also Mayfield Lavender Farm.
https://www.facebook.com/LondonUKEuropeEngagementWedding/
It was a full day coverage we have provided on their wedding day, which combined both Western culture and Chinese culture. It was challenging because it was very windy by the pier, where they had their outdoor ceremony. We started our day from 5am. Gothenburg is a harbour city. The wedding venue and hotel just located by the pier. It was refreshing.
Feel free to take a look at their pre-wedding photos and love story video on our website:
https://vimeo.com/738492106
Thank you
http://www.foreverlovejourney.com/
https://www.facebook.com/LondonUKEuropeEngagementWedding/
https://vimeo.com/738492106
River Restaurant On The Pier。

So you'll notice I haven't commented on the Royal Wedding to this point. my background in Medieval history might lead a person to assume this is up my alley, but it really isn't. I've never been a fan of the house of Hanover/Windsor, and I'm not even a little bit a monarchist. That said, I do have some thoughts on this wedding, which I'll get to in a bit.
The very first time I was allowed to stay up all night was for the wedding of Princess Anne, back when I was a toddler. I have vague memories of some images from the procession and her dress from the ceremony itself. Much sharper is the excitement of having an indoor picnic in the middle of the night with the rare treat that was take out Chinese food. (We were poor. Any sort of restaurant food was exciting, and I already had a precocious taste for spice and hot peppers). It was just ridiculously fun to be awake and having a special treat. My baby sister had jut grown her first too teeth, which randomly were both incisors, so we had this joke that she was a baby vampire. Too me some strangers getting married on the other side of the ocean meant nothing, but an adventure with my family, even if it was in our own living room was a joyous thing.
As a small child, every teenaged girl who baby sat us (except the one who'd tell me Poe stories as bedtime stories who was my favorite) wanted to marry one of the princes. I couldn't imagine wanting to live that life in the spot light and it all looked so boring. I remember all the Diana hoopla and half my class at school being crazy over it. Certainly, I saw highlights and stills, and like pretty much everyone, that dress really was a fairy tale princess thing, even if it looks dated now. I had even less interest in celebrity gossip than I do now, and I was old enough by then not to see the Point of modern monarchy. Yes, I understand now it generates a lot of tourism and some of them do charity things, but it strikes me as vestigial, and if you offered me a choice of meeting the royal family or a trip to the Tower of London or the British Museum or the like, I'd be at the museum in a heartbeat. It's nice when they do the charity stuff, but most celebrities are boring, and modern royals are generally a less interesting type of celebrity. Diana was so popular that one couldn't help catching glimpses of what was going on, even as busy as I was. (That particular thing prince Charles said to Camilla about the tampon haunts my dreams and I wish that I could unhear it, but it was everywhere.) We didn't know how bad things were for Diana, but even as isolated as I tried to make myself, one could get glimpses of how bad things must be. Everything I saw in the Diana and Fergie years made me think there was not enough money in the world to make me want to live that life.
When the photographers hounded her to death I wa in the gap between two Master's degrees, working the worst job in my life. (Much worse than the one that involved cleaning colostomy and dealing with other people's poop). Eight hours on one's feet, not allowed your legally mandated breaks except a short lunch, no bathroom breaks at all, random body searches, in an incredibly load factory warehouse with country music blasting over the growl and rumble of the machines, metal bars flying randomly at my head, everyone there more than a few days had repetitive stress injuries, all for minimum wage. I'd wake up at the crack of dawn for my shift, my entire body in terrible pain already, pain that would only get dramatically worse. I permanently damaged my feet working there amoung other things. I remember Skye explaining to me what happened, as I was pretty much either at work, asleep, or dazed from the pain the month I worked there and I basically only watched things we taped on the VCR, like Babylon 5 as I moved around in the pain and exhaustion stupor. It took awhile to sink in, even though I wasn't a royal watcher. It just seemed like she'd finally got free of a terrible situation that had been killing her and then this happens. I felt bad for her, but worse for the kids, even through my general indifference to modern royalty. It felt liked she'd been tricked into a terrible situation that ultimately killed her, and that these kids were imprisoned in a fundamentally toxic situation that was likely going to ruin their lives the way it had ruined the lives of their parents. I would legitimately have chosen my crappy subsistence lifestyle over it in a heartbeat.
It is good to see that some of the lessons from what happened did sink in, that they really made an effort to change things for the better for the Princes, that there was a lot more thought put into both realistic expectations of what people marrying into that are dealing with and actual effort put into integrating the newcomers into what is an extreme lifestyle. Kate Middleton really does seem to have been prepared and good at a job I can't imagine wanting to do. It's not an institution that makes sense to me, but I am against cruelty, and things seem all right these days.
I think Meghan Markle is an excellent choice, to be honest. She's had enough of the right sort of experience to consent knowing exactly what she's getting into. She seems to have the right skills, and am all for further airing out the royal gene pool. Judging from some of the incredibly racist commentary around the original announcement, it's pretty clearly good for England to get a Princess who isn't white and I can only hope that seeing a royal of African descent in the news on the regular will help cut down on racist assholery around things like the casting of Queen Margaret in the Hollow Crown and such like. If there is going to be a monarchy, then modernizing it is all to the best, I say.
So I wish them well, but I honestly didn't see the point of sitting around watching the wedding for me when I could reading or sleeping or cuddling cats or watching something more relevant to my interests, though I don't blame anyone who IS interested and did watch the whole thing. After all, my parents loved that stuff and watched all the royal weddings when they were alive. The highlights are turning up in the news anyway. Props to them for getting that...is he a Bishop or an archbishop? Anyway. I really liked his speech, which is the bit that I actually saw in the news. It's a lot more interesting than I was expecting out of a royal wedding.
