KB5034763 for Windows 10 version 22H2 What's new?

Today 13/Feb/2024, as part of the patch Tuesday update, Microsoft rolled out a new cumulative update KB5034763 for Windows 10 versions 22H2 and 21H2. This is an important security update download and installs automatically or you can navigate settings -> update and security -> Windows update and check for updates to download Windows 10 KB5034763 manually. Also, the Windows 10 KB5034763 update can be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

Installing this update changes build numbers 19045.404 6 and 19044.4046, which contain February 2024 patch Tuesday security updates along with the latest bug fixes. Some fixes include, printers being mistakenly installed as scanners, an issue blocking reconnection attempts in existing Remote Desktop sessions.

As per Microsoft’s official support page, the package doesn’t bring any new features, it comes with important security updates, so users should consider installing it as soon as possible.

This update resolves multiple issues, including one where explorer.exe could become unresponsive upon restarting or shutting down a PC with a connected controller accessory. Additionally, it enhances the security of device metadata downloads from Windows Metadata and Internet Services over HTTPS. Another fix in this update addresses a problem with the Certificate Authority snap-in, enabling the selection of the “Delta CRL” option. Windows 10 KB5034763 also bundles last month's preview update that brings a richer weather experience to the lock screen, introducing dynamic and interactive weather updates. Users will now find it easier to stay informed about weather conditions simply by glancing at their lock screen.

Additionally, tapping or clicking on the weather card will seamlessly open Microsoft Edge with a comprehensive forecast provided by MSN Weather.

If you already use Weather in Settings > Personalization > lock screen > Lock screen status, there is nothing for you to do. Also, this new experience will be on by default if Lock screen status is set to “None.”

This enhancement aims to provide users with more immediate access to weather information without the need to unlock their devices.

Furthermore, this update addresses a specific issue related to printers. Previously, some single-function printers were being incorrectly installed as scanners, causing confusion and potential functionality issues. With this update, the problem has been resolved, ensuring that printers are correctly identified and installed according to their intended function.

Another cheaty coli method sorry

i just wanted to share my way of grinding the coli.

I don’t know if there’s a preinstalled, similar software on windows (otherwise there are enough options to install anyways) but I’m using „Automator“ Workflows on my Mac. (its almost 10 years old but even that old box can manage to run it a Little bit during festivals) it’s a Nice preinstalled program that lets you record and replay mouse and keyboard operations.

here is what I do:

first of all, I use safari and not chrome, opera or something, safari just works the best for me with automator, I had the least errors during tests.

i record the base „select, scratch, attack“ for 4 opponents (even if there are just 3 in the current battle, just to prepare if you come across a battle with 4) and click the „fight on„ button. (I also make sure to alight the website the same way everytime - the red header aligned with the top of the screen in my case - so the recorded click doesn’t miss the button)

then you can stop recording and just copy paste the recorded action over and over again. and hit play of course so that it Replays your keyboard shortcuts and clicks.

if im in a higher venue I most of the time build breath up by myself and then record 1 round with scratch-Eliminate. i do sometimes just combine building up breath and actually eliminating into one workflow on automator but i often run into issues with it. (Combining as in recording a scratch/ meditate round etc, copy pasting it to however often you need it to get enough breath and then recording a eliminate round) (I really recommend recording only 1 fight and copy pasting, then if it keeps messing up you only have to redo the recording of 1 battle, not 5…)

this method isn’t perfect. It won’t clear captcha, it does mess up often enough and you have to restart the action. It’s trial and error sometimes but for me it’s great. It’s also definitely slower than I’d actually be, I get way less errors when not racing through a fight like i usually would so I’m keeping it at a “relaxed coli grinding” speed xD

I don’t have the time to grind the coli for festivals or if I’m low on food so I can run it while working on my uni projects etc. on my Pc. I also barely earn Any treasure off of it. (I don’t do it enough to get goood drops from the coli and anyways if I do,I keep-it and let everything collect dust in my hoard.I just hoardsell the junk no one would buy anyways.) and honestly, I’m faster grinding by hand, but it allows me to skip the grind for the most part.

and yes I know it’s against the rules / cheating to automate it but cmon… I don’t have hours to spend in the coli

So yeah, I hope this maybe helps someone who’s maybe also too busy to spend alot of time on FR or is physically not able to grind for hours etc.

tl;dr - I’m just explaining a bit in detail how I cheat a bit in the coli using “Automator” (on a Mac, it just record and replays keyboard actions and mouse movements and clicks) because I’m busy

Microsoft Shennanigans?

I have Libre Office installed on my computer as my office suite. Last night, I got an indication that the latest update of Windows 10 needed to be run on my computer. I restarted the computer as required to run the install, and went to bed.

Now, Libre Office was installed and working before I restarted the computer. This morning, however, I turned on the computer, and discovered the Libre Office shortcuts I had on the start bar and desktop were not working (or had vanished, in the case of the desktop shortcut). A file in .odt format (the Libre Office default format for text files) opened in Microsoft Wordpad (which I don't use at all, and would never have associated with anything). "Okay," I think, "the Windows update broke the file associations. This sometimes happens; time to go dig up the executable and re-associate things".

Go looking for the Libre Office directory on my C: drive. Vanished.

Now, I'm not necessarily saying that installing the latest Windows update uninstalled Libre Office from my computer. What I am saying is it was there before I ran the install, and it wasn't there afterwards, and I didn't do anything to remove it.

I've sent a complaint in to Microsoft, but I figure I'm going to be spreading this story on all my various social media locations, just to put the word out there. The case for changing over to Linux is getting much stronger.

My Redragon Rudra (K565R) Full Size Mechanical Keyboard Review - Part 5 (Final) (Recorded Video, w/ my paper dolls) [Jan 26, 2022]

Hello. This is final part (Part 5) of my Redragon Rudra (K565R) Full Size Mechanical Keyboard 🔴🐲⌨️ review.⌨️😁 My first ever owned gaming mechanical keyboard!

For this part, I have my recorded video (via my Honor 8C phone) to watch & see what actual clicks from my Redragon Rudra’s OUTEMU blue switch, as well as some other features. So please, stick around until the end of my topic.

*But before that, I want YOU… Yes, you, which you’re reading my description. I want you to watch my recorded video first 📹📲 (as an observation) before you read the rest of my reaction experience. Hope you’re watching…

So without further ado, let’s get started:

Video recorded 🎦📲:

• Here, I’m now connecting my recent used keyboard via USB type A through my computer. I’m actually connect with my UGREEN USB Extension Hub 3.0, which I’ll continue that very soon. And now my Redragon Mech Keyboard is all lit up from rainbow light keycaps. I have my mini microphone clipped on the right side to hear the clicking sounds of OUTEMU blue switch. Unfortunately it didn’t delivered, but you could still hear the click sounds. Sorry for the bit noisy background though.

BTW: That mini microphone was from my “lavalier microphone micro-cravate”. I’ll have my review about that, someday.

•Anyways, I’m pressing all the keycaps from this keyboard, and it functions well for the past weeks or so. Now, I’m turning off the lights to see the actual rainbow lights. Pretty cool, huh?

• In the mechanical keyboard world, they have “Fn” key(s) which is short for “Function” for customizing backlights to suit their gaming tastes or opening windows shortcuts for easier access than manually with the mouse. For instance, I’m now pressing “Fnn” + “Up or Down Arrow” keys for adjusting lights from light to low/turn off. And that’s one of the examples of using “FN” key. Another example here is I’m pressing “Fn” + “INS” (short for Insert) keys for different backlight, it’s now changed to breathing lights, and then I can adjust the speed/slow breathing by both pressing “Fn” + “Left or Right Arrow” keys at the same time before I pressed both “Fn” + “PGUP” (short for Page Up) keys to restart the backlight.

BTW: I didn’t mention that there’s also “Win/Lock Mode” for this particular Redragon Mech Keyboard (and like other mech keyboard brands). And what it does is disabling windows startup while playing games. It’s a cool feature to prevent accidental pressing startup key. And to be honest, I don’t usually lock the startup key during my gameplay, but it’s neat feature when I need it, nonetheless.

• Now onto different backlights, they are total of 10 backlight themes for this Redragon Rudra Mechanical Keyboard, two which are 2 DIY backlight themes by pressing (Fn+9/Fn+0) (that I need to figure it out), according to their Redragon’s official website. I’m now pressing “FN” + “INS” keys to see their different backlight themes, with more adjusting from arrow keys. And so far, the No. 7 is my favorite backlight theme, because when I press any keycaps it fades off & back again. The No. 4 setting on the other is the exact opposite.

• Finally, the multimedia function keys for Redragon Rudra. They have 11 multimedia keys from the top function keys. Some keys are quite useful for me, and some I don’t, but I’ll show ya. I’m pressing “Fn” + “F3” keys to open the calculator. Pressing “Fn” + “F1” keys to open “My Computer” or in Windows 10 called “This PC”. Pressing “Fn” + “F2” for search bar, whether you’re in internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc.) or from startup. And lastly, pressing “Fn” + “F4” keys for opening Windows 10’s Groove Music, which is essentially the new replacement for “Windows Media Player”. Strangely, (the old version of) “Windows Media Player” still lives in Windows 10, before it eventually brought back the aforementioned media player with the new look in Windows 11. Speaking of media players, here are seven remaining function keys (from F5 to F11): those are forward, backward, play/pause, stop & three volume adjustment keys respectively. Personally, I don’t usually playing music on windows media player/groove music (on Windows 10), nor watching videos on youtube with F5 to F8 keys, I only used F9 to F11 for adjusting volume or mute. The latter of which are demonstrating right now. Oddly enough, I used these volume adjustments during my playtime in GTA V Online. Don’t ask why.

• There’s also a driver software that I can customize the commands, mapping, adjusting backlights, etc. I’ve found the driver software from Redragon website from Thailand, and I downloaded. Unfortunately, when I installed on my computer, it won’t recognized my specific Redragon Mechanical Keyboard model. Man, what a bummer; but it doesn’t matter.

• My paper dolls say that it’s cool when turning off the lights, yeah indeed. So bright I could finally typing during dark place. Unless of course, I need another light to able see my desk.

Final Overall (w/ My Experience):

• For the past 4 weeks of using mechanical keyboard improves my gaming experience, and not just that, but also my typing skills. It so much better than ordinary membrane keyboard (that I’ve used to), for real. Although, with the OUTEMU blue switches built-in could be distract during nighttime, and as they said, OUTEMU blue switches are not suitable for working office when they carry. In my experience, they don’t bothered from me typing or playing. Other than that though, I’m enjoyed & satisfied with my new keyboard, and this could be my comparison for my next upcoming mechanical keyboard review, and see which is better than the other. No cons I could think of, because I’m a newbie for owning mechanical keyboards. I should learn more about mechanical keyboards, and who knows, I will do my first ever DIY mechanical keyboard, someday. But, that’s another story to tell.

tutorial under the cut.

the first thing you’ll need is a screen recorder; a program to record your screen and save it in a video format onto your computer. i personally use the in-game overlay from geforce experience, but if you don’t have an nvidia graphics card, i’d recommend fonepaw screen recorder. the trial version is completely free and lasts for an unlimited time, but only has a maximum recording time of three minutes; that should be plenty for our purposes, though!

for this tutorial, we’ll be using the geforce experience overlay, but if you have any questions regarding fonepaw, feel free to ask!

the geforce experience program should be installed on your computer by default if you have an nvidia graphics card, so simply search for it. you’re going to need to create a new user if you don’t already have one, but if you play games, you definitely should, because this is also where you’d go to keep your driver up to date. to enable the in-game overlay, simply click on the little settings cogwheel to the top right next to your user. make sure that the “in-game overlay” is enabled.

you can adjust your shortcuts by clicking the settings button in the in-game overlay section, then going to keyboard shortcuts. the only one you really need to worry about for this purpose is the “toggle manual recording on/off and save” shortcut under record. mine is set to ctrl+r, but it can be anything you want really. just make sure it doesn’t conflict with any shortcut in game, as that might be inconvenient.

now, to start recording your screen, simply launch the game and get your desired framing. staying in tab mode whilst recording is preferable, seeing as your screen recorder will record your entire screen, including the ui. press your shortcut keys, and a little pop-up should show momentarily in the top right corner to let you know that you’ve started recording (this won’t show up on your finished recording, don’t worry). to stop recording, press the same shortcut keys again, and a similar pop-up should tell you that the recording has been saved. i usually record for about 3-10 seconds, but don’t worry too much, as you can trim down the recording later. do keep in mind that longer recordings will obviously take up more space and take longer to process.

if using fonepaw, you’ll need to have the program open alongside your game for it to work. also keep in mind that after recording once, you’ll need to go to the program to either hit save or discard recording before you can record a second time.

once satisfied with the recording(s) you’ve gotten, close down your game and open up photoshop, then go to file > import > video frames to layers and locate your recording. for the geforce experience overlay, they should be located in this pc > videos, and for fonepaw they’ll be located in documents > fonepaw by default.

if you don’t have photoshop, you can use the video to gif converter at ezgif.com. it won’t give you as many options for editing, but it’s really quick to use and learn.

i personally use photoshop, so that’s what we’ll be using for this tutorial. if you have any questions about ezgif.com, don’t hesitate to ask. i’ve used it myself in the past! after opening up the video file, you’ll get this pop-up. this is where i usually trim down my recording if it’s too long. you can do that by dragging the two lower arrows back and forth. i just leave the “limit to every x frames” option alone, but you could mess around with it if you want. a higher number will result in smaller file size, but will also make the gif less fluid. keep the “make frame animation” ticked.

when clicking ok, you might get a pop-up saying “this will produce a large document and possible take a long time”. either just click continue or trim down the length of your recording further. this might help with lag and unresponsiveness if your computer isn’t the strongest.

once everything has loaded in, go to window and make sure that timeline is checked.

it’ll make this neat little line appear at the bottom of your workspace, showing you each individual frame of your gif, allowing you to play the recording and adjust the time each frame will be shown for. most times i’ll just leave mine at the default 0,02. you can also delete individual frames to fine-adjust the length.

this is also where i crop the gif if needed. simply select the crop tool and crop it like you would a picture.

don’t forget to resize! i always resize to 540 pixels in width, because that’s how wide a tumblr post is. if i want to place two gifs next to each other, i resize to 268 pixels to save on file size. just leave the resolution and resample options as is.

now is where you can play around with editing and such! just make sure that your adjustments are at the very top of all the layers and that you don’t merge the gif layers themselves.

to save your gif, you need to go to file > export > save for web (legacy). if you’re on an earlier version of photoshop, it might be called something slightly different, but it should be located under file regardless.

here are the settings i use. you might need to adjust them a bit if your file size is above 3M, because that’s the biggest tumblr will do. you can check the file size underneath the preview to the left, right underneath “GIF”. mine happens to be 2,213M, so i don’t have to take further steps to size it down, but if you do, you can try lowering the colors from 256. it will sacrifice a bit of quality, but in most cases it won’t be that noticeable. resizing further will also make a difference in file size.

always remember to make sure that looping options is set to forever. if not, your gif will only play through the frames once.

now simply name your gif and save it to your desired location. you can leave the format and settings as is. you might get a pop-up after hitting save, but just choose continue, you should be fine.

if you run into any problems with saving or opening up your gif afterwards, try saving it as a .psd first and restart photoshop, then open up the .psd and try the saving process again. sometimes when working with big files, photoshop will run out of memory space and have trouble saving, but simply closing down the program and opening it again should fix it. if not, try resizing the gif to be a bit smaller.
