Yes, but I published one of those books 19 (?!?!?!) years ago and the other 12 (!?!?!?!?) years ago. What have I been up to since then?

My brother Hank and I started Good.store, which delivers high-quality socks, coffee, and soap to your home and donates 100% of its profit to charity. (In fact, technically I am here on tumblr as an unpaid intern for the awesome coffee club, which you should really sign up for if you like ethically sourced coffee that tastes delicious and doesn't enrich billionaires.)

I wrote the novel Turtles All the Way Down and then had a little existential crisis and wrote a nonfiction book called The Anthropocene Reviewed, the latter of which is my first book for adults and my first attempt to write as myself.

I helped produce made a movie adaptation (streaming now on Max!) of Turtles all the Way Down.

I helped raise my kids and supported my spouse as she wrote her book You Are An Artist and created a PBS show about art called The Art Assignment.

I ran the educational media company Complexly and the merch company dftba.com while my brother had cancer.

I bought around 2% of a fourth-tier English football team called AFC Wimbledon. Wimbledon are different from most football clubs because they are owned by their fans, each of whom gets one vote in the club's leadership regardless of how much money they put into the club.

I became obsessed with tuberculosis, the world's deadliest infectious disease (it will kill over a million people this year despite being curable), and how TB both exemplifies and reinforces human-built structures of injustice, which is the subject of a book I'm writing that will come out next year.

the bathroom is tiny. your back crashes against the cold mirror behind you as ellie cups your head intensifying the kiss.

the bathroom is tiny and suddenly too hot. you can see various objects belonging to the owner of the house scattered around the sink and shelves, bumping and tumbling as your body rocks in ellie's arms.

her touch and grip are hungry, her fingers famished for a body she can't get enough of. her hands navigate between your neck and jaw, restless and unsure of where to position themselves at all.

"ellie" you murmur, your hands caressing the expanse of her tattooed arms.

the party was downstairs. from the bathroom you could hear the screams of people celebrating and having a good time to the music; but you and ellie had a different way of having a good time.

her mouth left wet kisses on your glowing skin and turned it on in a way that only ellie could do. she felt a little like a wild animal that had been released from its cage after many years in captivity; too hungry for your touch.

she couldn't tell the exact moment you and her left the dance floor and appeared in that bathroom. her memory throws up blurry memories of their hands intertwined with yours as they walked up the stairs, giggling.

but what ellie does know is the way your skin feels against her hands; she tries to touch you carefully, avoiding getting carried away with her lust and being too rough, but something about the idea of her fingers etched into your skin is appealing to her.

she feels your fingers slipping away until they find her belt buckle and tug on it "ellie" you murmur, slurring the final letter "e" in her name, a moan so dramatic that ellie wants to smile.

"what do you want?" she says, her fingers arranging the unruly strands of hair that intrude between your features, depriving her of admiring you.

and you look at her "fuck me"

suddenly the bathroom feels too hot.

"well" ellie grunts "let's go home then"

and you feel ellie's hand intertwine with yours, opening the bathroom door and pulling you in to complete her mission: get home as soon as possible.

Here they are - The results of the "Worst post of 2023" competition and overall an archive for the worst posts the Les Mis social media teams have cursed us with this year.

1- "Who should Marius choose ?" - January 29

That one can be crowned "Worst post of the year" by far - The musical seems to once again have misunderstood three of its most important characters, reducing them to being mere love interests and defining Eponine and Cosette's relationship by a rivalry over Marius.

2 - Cosette at Thanksgiving - November 23

The US competitor also took a very strong stand here - not only because it shows a deep misunderstanding of what the character of Cosette fundamentaly stands for, but also because it can be seen as offensive by many. Putting an abused and starved french child in front of a Thanksgiving meal, really ?

3 - Mother's day - March 19

A picture of Madame Thénardier ? For Mother's day instead of Fantine ? It's more likely than you think. Although on this one the team gets extra credit for acknowledging that Madame Thénardier is not a good mother, which shows an unusual level of understanding when it comes to their own musical.

4 - The Wimbledon post - July 15

Also known as That One Post Where Everything Is Wrong - and for sure not their best use of this promotional picture. From the tennis racket to the editing of Cosette's arms to make her look muscular, it is the proof we never needed that there should not, in fact, be a Cosette for every occasion.Not to mention they somehow messed up the colors of the French flag... not a good look for them.

5 - Christmas Eve - December 24

Just a very disappointing post all around as an adequate way to wrap up this year. On the 200th anniversary of Valjean meeting Cosette in the woods, we got a quality pun and an edited picture that we could, at the very best, consider as inappropriate - would it only be because they added snowflakes to a barricade that was build in June.

Honorable mentions for this year go to :

The Fourth of July post - that surprisingly did not make it in top 5. The US team might win the battle for "Most incorrect use of this Cosette picture" with this one - and it is made even worse by the fact they did not post anything for July 14, the national french holiday.

The World cup one - similar to the Wimbledon post in that it just gets everything wrong overall, from the awful pun to putting Cosette in front of an english flag.

Easter Cosette - not surprising, but still extremely disappointing.

Christmas Cosette - in the same way, it is the exact same post as last year and never fails to disappoint.

Any time they felt the need to put sunglasses on Cosette - which, honestly, was a lot.

A very uncanny use of emojis in every single post, that never gets less disturbing.

Overall a very good year to archive their fuck ups - but they still did not manage to beat the record set last year by the Queen's Jubilee post ! Maybe they will do even better in 2024 ?

Travis is asked how his team mates handled the news that he was dating Taylor...

"no nobody really gave me [a hard time] no, really nobody knew what was going on really all over the place, we kind of kept it between us as much as we could but once she came to a game obviously it was all popping from there"

"you want to keep things private but at the same time I'm not here to hide anything, that's my girl you know what I mean that's my lady, I'm proud of that so it's like I'm not sitting here trying to juggle 'how can I keep this under wraps'. You just don't want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to comment on it knowing that everything she does is getting a headline."

When asked about what has been crazy as a result of dating Taylor Travis replies

"it's been cool, it's a different demographic than the NFL really so it's been cool to dabble in that and see her following, it's been fun.

"The Chiefs fans have turned into a lot of her fans or her fans have turned into Chiefs fans so I've had fun with just about every aspect of it. It's just when you're at home you want privacy and you don't always get that"

On supporting each other and Taylor going on to the field at the Super Bowl:

"she's very self-aware she understands situations and that's why I really started to really fall for her was how genuine she is around friends & family, it can get crazy for somebody with that much attention and she just keeps it so chill and so cool and because you know everyone's watching what hey what move

"The first game she came to against the Bears I was like 'hey yeah so I could probably set you up with everything' and she just walked right through the front door. There's no going down talking to security making sure that she gets to her [box seat] she just wants to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody. She got Buu points for that. She's in the madness, she wants to be a part of it, she wants to support me and do things like that. She really won me over with that one though."

How's it been going to the concerts?

"dude the concerts are electric yeah they're electric and she just switched it up, she just came out with the new album so she Incorporated that into the new show, she's having fun up there so it's like I can enjoy seeing her in her element killing it on stage and I love the show man she's got bangers."

Travis is asked to name his top tier songs of Taylor's...

"I really started listening to Taylor's music when she came out with 1989 like I knew who she was before that, we were the same age we so through high school I knew who Taylor was as she was getting her career started. 1989 was where it really started to go crazy so I'm going to say Blank Space because that was the first one great song so I'm put that one at number one. "Number two; Cruel Summer is one of the ones she opens with at her show and when she comes out and it's just Electric in the stadium and then she goes into an absolute banger like that, I was fired up when that happened the first show I was ever at" "What would be my third? I'll say So High School, it's got a little bit of a sentimental meaning". "You know how to ball, I know Aristotle"

Another royal wedding nod is there in the movie with the choice of tiara the fictional Princess Martha wore for her nuptials. The diamond headdress, styled by costume designer Keith Madden, was a replica of the art-deco diamond tiara worn by Meghan Markle on her 2018 wedding day. Queen Mary's bandeau tiara (as it is officially known) was made for Queen Elizabeth II's grandmother in 1932 and was loaned by Elizabeth to Meghan for the duchess' walk down the aisle of St George's Chapel, Berkshire, England, on May 19, 2018.

A stylistic Easter egg hidden by Red, White & Royal Blue's creative team was an item of costume, which has taken on legendary status within the royal fashion sphere as the must-have "princess dress." Designed by British fashion brand, Beulah London, the "Ahana" mid-length dress with statement pleated details, covered buttons and a matching covered belt has been worn by a number of major world royals including Kate, the Princess of Wales. Kate first wore a pale pink version of the dress at the Wimbledon tennis championships in London in 2021, and she rewore it in July 2023 to attend the opening of a new museum. In the movie, the dress is worn by Prince Henry's sister, Princess Beatrice (Ellie Bamber).

Okay but imagine Anthony bursting into tears with their son on his hip when Kate wins her first tournament back. There’s been a lot of talk as to whether or not Kate Sharma will still have the edge after becoming a mother which made Kate laugh in pre-tournament pressers.

“If my position with Anthony was reversed, and I was retired and we’d just had our son: Would you still be asking him that question?”

“Well, I-”

“I didn’t think so.” Kate chuckled leaning in to the microphone, “I think I’ll answer that question on the court. I have an incredibly supportive husband, who’s made a lot of sacrifices for us to have a family and for me to continue my career. I wouldn’t still be here if I didn’t think I could win tournaments.”

“A lot of people had a lot to say about you taking time off during what was arguably the peak of your game to have a child.”

“I don’t think we can decide if that was the peak of my career.” Kate sighed, leaning back, “I don’t owe anyone an explanation for why I decided to have a child now. I love tennis, but I love my husband more and I love our son and I decided that I wanted that even if it cost me my career. And I don’t think that’s something to be looked down upon. If I want everything why shouldn’t I try to have it? Again, if I was a man I wouldn’t have to sit here and answer these questions.”

“Not gone soft then, Kate?” A reporter chuckled.

“Oh I’d never do that.”

She went out the first day of competition and her match is over in 22 minutes and Kate’s annoyed because 2 minutes quicker would have been a Wimbledon record.

“She dithered about at the baseline because she knew I wouldn’t get the record!” Kate called out from the shower

“Well, I don’t think anyone can accuse you of having lost your edge,” Anthony muttered, bouncing Neddy on his lap.

“What was that?”

“Nothing, Babe!” Anthony waved Neddy’s hand as Kate stepped out of the shower, “Amma gets so cranky when she plays tennis, boyo.”

“I want that record!” Kate rolled her eyes as she slipped into Anthony’s shirt and boxers before kissing the top of Anthony’s head and taking Neddy from him. “Don’t listen to Daddy, Mummy’s just trying to prove a point, little prince.”

She gets it in the final. 19 minutes and 37 seconds and the Wimbledon final is over and no one ever questions whether she’s lost her edge again.
