The picture above is of the famous Greyfriars Bobby Statue. The Statue was made by William Brodie.

If you visit please don't pet or rub the Bobby statue for luck because it is ruining the statue. You can see the discoloration.

The story behind the dog is that he spent 14 years guarding the grave of his owner John Gray. John Gray died in 1858 . The good people of Edinburgh gave the dog food and water regularly. Poor faithful Bobby dog died on January 14, 1872 at his owner's grave. Quite the story.
