They weren't friends. Weren't anything. Didn't talk much. Weren't enemies or rivals or .. literally anybody to each other. Since that memorable fight at the Byers they didn't even notice one another, minding their own business.

So if they weren't and didn't, then why did Billy's death wreck Steve the way it wasn't supposed to?

They weren't friends. Didn't have one single decent conversation.

Eventually all the commotion died down. The Earth went back on its axis, and every day started to be normal. Quiet.

Steve resumed his meek attempts at winning Nancy's heart back, when Jonathan was out of the picture. Gave her the six nuggets in California speech. She wasn't impressed.

Steve himself wasn't impressed much.

It's just that after everything has gone silent, he has the feeling that somehow

Everything is wrong. The recipe lacks one vital ingredient, cause everything tastes bland.

Everything is forced, including his weary wish to bring back what he and Nancy had.

It's gone. He doesn't want it, yet he's asking.

One day he can't do this anymore. He packs his bag, puts it in the Beamer's trunk and drives to California alone. Ends up in a town close to the beach, rents a small apartment, finds a job.

Starts living a new life, feeling better,

Then years down the line, when he's in his late twenties, there comes a day when Steve meets a guy. On the beach. They are both surfing, well, Steve's just having fun, the guy is much more professional about it.

And the guy looks exactly like the long-dead Billy Hargrove. Only his hair is short, and yeah, he looks .. grown-up, Harrington does too.

Steve even calls out to him, in confusion,

They start talking, hanging out, and Steve likes him, like .. fuck, he likes him. It's weird, cause the guy looks like Hargrove but he's not, and has a whole different background story, and

They hang out more, and talk and laugh together. One night, they kiss, and they .. oh god, Steve could never imagine

Light and Dark: The Tragic Times of the Big Bay Point Lighthouse

The waters of Lake Superior have a notorious history with those who have tried to interact with it. Responsible for over 500 shipwrecks and allegedly taking the lives of nearly 10,000 people, it has earned the nickname “Graveyard of the Great Lakes” through the most accurate and unfortunate means. Rising up over these infamous waters on the edge of a rocky cliff is the sixty-four foot tall Big Bay Point Lighthouse, a structure that seems cheery despite the unfortunate tales churning under the surface of the lake below it. This lighthouse has seen many things during its 127-year history but the water is not the only place that has seen its share of tragedy.

The lighthouse at Big Bay Point opened on October 20th 1896 with its white light blazing 150 feet above the water every twenty seconds to warn ships traveling nearby. The lighthouse keeper was provided with a two-story brick structure on site that could house him and his family on one side of the building and his assistant and his family on the other side. On the thirty-three acres of land there was also two cisterns, an oil house, a garage, two brick outhouses, a dock, a well house, and a brick fog signal building all situated outside a forest. It takes a certain kind of person to live the life of a lighthouse keeper, and they sometimes have very strict requirements for their crew.

The first lighthouse keeper of Big Bay Point was H. (Harry) William Prior (sometimes written as Pryor). William was the eldest of three brothers who all had experience tending to lighthouses, but it was William who became notorious for his impossibly high standards and a temper that matched his gruff red hair. William was the ruler of his domain and his extremely detailed logbooks paint the picture of a belligerent man who felt his crew was lazy and untrustworthy no matter what they did. On November 11th 1897 William left the lighthouse in order to attend the funeral of his only sister, a six-mile journey that he did on foot. When he arrived back on November 18th 1897 and saw how his assistant Ralph Heater ran the lighthouse in his absence he made his extreme disappointment known. In his logbook he wrote:

“I can not [sic] see that the assistant has done any work around the station since I left. He has not the energy to carry him down the hill and if I speak to him about it he makes no answer but goes on just as if he did not hear me; he is so much under the control of his wife he has not the hart [sic] to do anything. She has annoyed me during the season by hanging around him and hindering him from working, and she is altogether a person totally unfit to be in a place like this as she is discontented and jealous and has succeeded in making life miserable for everyone at this station.”

The sheer disdain for Heater and his wife became a theme in the logbooks. On January 1st 1898 Prior wrote about how Heater “claimed” he hurt his back, but any thought that Prior might be concerned for his coworker is quickly dispelled by the entries in February where he writes: “Mr. Heater arrived from Marquette at 6 p.m. and walked the entire distance of 33 miles in 12 hours, including two rest stops over an hour each … pretty good gait for a lame man.” This was followed by an entry on February 27th reading “Mr. Heater came across the ice to the other side of Big Bay with his wife. It is Sunday and his back is not lame today.”

Perhaps it was best for both men that Heater ended up leaving the lighthouse and his role was taken on by George Beamer, but soon after his new post began he left to serve in the Spanish American War. Upon his departure he left his wife Jennie to take his place at the lighthouse making her the only woman to ever serve at the Big Bay Point Lighthouse. Once returned though, Prior and Beamer were constantly fighting, Beamer kept insisting he could not work because he hurt his back, and by October Prior was writing:

“Asst. Beamer complains of being sick and talks of leaving the station to go home to Detroit. He is too high strung for a light keeper’s asst, between himself and his wife this season I imagine that I am keeping a Home for the Helpless Poor instead of a U.S. Lighthouse. I and my family having to do the greater part of the work while they receive the pay.”

On November 1st 1898 Prior dismissed Beamer, his last written thoughts on him being “this Beamer…is without exception the most ungrateful and the meanest man I have ever met.” The two problematic assistants were gone, but this meant Prior needed a new assistant and his reputation was making it difficult to find a suitable replacement. Since no outsider seemed to meet his high standards, he decided to look within the lighthouse grounds and he soon made his nineteen-year-old son George his new assistant.

Perhaps the two had an understanding or they simply knew each other well enough to work together, but for over a year George and William tended to the lighthouse side by side. Then, in April of 1901 tragedy struck the Prior family. While working one day George slipped and sliced his leg down to the bone. There are differing accounts if William was there and they sought immediate treatment or if George, fearing his father’s temper, waited until he simply could not wait anymore. The nearest hospital was located in Marquette, Michigan and the thirty-mile journey by boat and then on foot had to be nothing short of agony. Young George was checked into the fifty-bed facility on April 18th and that night William, the ever-meticulous record keeper, noted in his logbook “he will have to remain in hospital for treatment.”

The injury and any delay in treatment would prove to be catastrophic to the young assistant. The wound was too severe to simply stitch up and it became infected. Eventually gangrene set in and quickly took over the tissue in his leg. Treatment and medication stopped working and almost two months later on June 13th George Prior died in the hospital. On that day his father wrote in his logbook, “1:30 p.m. Keeper summoned to Marquette to bury his son who died this morning.”

William Prior had a reputation for being the most difficult, the most demanding, and the hardest of iron fists but everything fell apart on that June morning. The death of his son completely shattered him and he spiraled into a deep state of depression. The work fell to the side and the entries in the logbook became less frequent and shorter until June 27th when the entry simply reads “General work.” That was the last entry written by the lighthouse keeper. On June 28th 1901William Prior disappeared. He was last seen walking into the woods on the grounds of the lighthouse and despite an extensive search he simply could not be found. The following fall his widow and four children piled onto a boat and headed for Marquette never to return to the lighthouse.

The following November 1902 a man named Fred Babcock was walking through the woods around the Big Bay Point Lighthouse when he made the horrible discovery. Hanging from a tree approximately half a mile from the lighthouse was a skeleton with some tufts of red hair still visible. An entry was made into the logbook that day and it read:

 “Mr. Fred Babcock came to the station 12:30 pm. While hunting in the woods one and a half mile south of the station this noon he found a skeleton of a man hanging to a tree. We went to the place with him and found that the clothing and everything tally with the former keeper of this station who has been missing for seventeen months.”

Newspapers reported the finding in cold detail, writing about how the rope was tied “around the fleshless neck” and without mentioning the death of George, only reported that “…a few months over a year ago, Mr. Pryor wandered off in a fit of temporary insanity, and was never seen again…”

Unfortunately, another tragedy would be tied to the Big Bay Point Lighthouse almost fifty years after the body of William Prior was found in the woods. In 1941 the lighthouse was automated and like many other lighthouses it became a training location for the United States Army and the National Guard. In the 1950s large guns were installed on the cliff to use during practice shooting over Lake Superior and the soldiers camped out in the surrounding fields and woods. One of the men stationed at Big Bay Point was Korean War veteran and member of the 768th anti-aircraft battalion at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin, 38-year-old Lieutenant Coleman Peterson who was there with his wife Charlotte. Lt. Peterson was known to be a very jealous man and on at least one occasion he and Charlotte had gotten into a fight outside the nearby Lumberjack Tavern because he accused her of flirting with another soldier stationed near the Big Bay Lighthouse.

The Lumberjack Tavern was less than five miles from the lighthouse and it was frequented by those stationed there. On the night of July 31st 1952 Charlotte was out drinking at the tavern and she returned back home with a black eye. When her husband confronted her about it, she told him that the owner of the tavern raped her. Peterson left for the tavern and when he arrived just before 12:30 a.m. he walked through the screen door, went straight up to the bar where owner Maurice (Mike) Chenoweth was standing, and shot him six times at point blank range with a 9 mm German Luger automatic pistol. With Chenoweth dead behind the bar he calmly turned around and walked back out into the night as if the entire scene never happened.

Peterson was arrested and when he was brought into court on September 15th 1952 he was represented by John D. Voelker. Voelker used a defense called “irresistible impulse”, stating that Peterson killed Chenoweth due to a bout of temporary insanity. It was a defense that had not been used since 1886 but after only a few hours Peterson was found not guilty by reason of insanity on September 23, 1952. But, as stated in the court, this insanity was only temporary. He was examined days later, declared sane, and released to resume a normal life. Some accounts state that he fled the region, never paying Voelker and soon divorcing Charlotte. No evidence was ever found pointing to Chenoweth being guilty of the crime.

Peterson was free but John D. Voelker was not done with this case. Under the pen name Robert Traver he wrote the book Anatomy of a Murder based on the Peterson murder case. The book was on the bestseller list for sixty-five consecutive weeks and has sold more than four million copies in twenty languages. In 1959 the book was adapted into a film starring Jimmy Stewart. A rare occurrence at the time, parts of the film were shot on location at the Lumberjack Tavern where the original murder took place and in 2012 the film was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Today, the Lumberjack Tavern is still standing, its walls filled with newspaper clippings and with signs out front proclaiming it as the actual place where the crimes of Anatomy of a Murder unfolded. The Big Bay Point Lighthouse also still stands in the same place where tragedy unfolded in 1901. Today, it operates as a bed and breakfast and its current owners are well aware of its history, partially because there are reports that its past is still very much present at the lighthouse. As told by the current owner to NorthernExpress.com in 2021, “It was haunted when I acquired it…” and there have been reports of footsteps, things moving in other rooms, faucets turning on, lights turning on and off, and some report seeing split-second glimpses of the red-haired William Prior in mirrors, still watching over the lighthouse he lived for and that eventually took the lives of both him and his son.

When the Big Bay Point Lighthouse was officially opened it was meant to be a literal beacon, guiding those away from danger. Its light could not save everyone though, and within its first fifty-two years both William Prior and Lieutenant Coleman Peterson succumbed to “temporary insanity” and became tied to some of the darkest chapters of the lighthouse’s history.

You know what? Fuck it, we are getting emotional today, I will allow myself this day to pour out my heart in genuine.

You want to call yourself an American for raiding the capital on January 6th of this year? You are wrong. You are no American. You are the farthest thing from it.

You want to see real Americans? Here are a few.

-Todd Beamer, gave his life trying to take back control of flight 93 on September 11th, 2001. Credited with saving the US Capitol, last heard words were “let’s roll”.

-Billy Burke, a firefighter who stayed with stranded civilians in the North Tower of the World Trade Center, knew the tower would collapse and chose to stay, telling a younger firefighter to leave. Joey on “Friends” wore a shirt bearing his name.

-Moira Smith, a police officer who died in the attacks, she was last seen leading people from the second tower. She was awarded the NYPD’s Medal of Honor after her death. Media described her as having “the face of an angel and the heart of a lion”. One of the first to report the attacks.

-Benjamin Clark, a chef who made sure people made it to safety from the 96th floor. He stayed to help a person in a wheelchair, and died when the building collapsed.

-Danny Lewin, a special forces veteran who perished trying to single handedly stop the hijacking of flight 11.

-Leonard Hatton, was on his way to work when he saw smoke, immediately made his way to the towers to help firefighters in the evacuation efforts.

-William Rodriguez, was in the North Tower and had a key to all emergency exits. He is credited with leading firefighters up the stairs and unlocking all emergency exits, saving countless lives.

-Welles Crowther, a former volunteer firefighter who perished entering the building once more before it collapsed, saved as many as 18 lives.

-Rick Rescorla, saved 2,687 Morgan Stanley employees, and 207 office visitors, safely leading them outside before going back in to save more.

-Thomas Burnett, also aboard flight 93, also helped try to regain control of the plane. His efforts, along with those of Todd Beamer, helped keep the plane from reaching its intended target: the US Capitol or the White House.

-Officer John W. Perry, a police officer who was about to retire. Upon hearing of the attacks, he ran straight to the towers, helped a woman who had fainted before running into the South Tower. The tower collapsed soon after.

-Ronald Bucca, found after the destruction. It is believed that he placed his coat around several civilians in order to protect them, it was found still wrapped around them later.

-Jason Thomas and Dave Karnes, two marines who rushed to the scene shortly after the attack to help find survivors, neither knew the other prior to the event but both are credited with helping save two Port Authority police officers, trapped below the rubble.

-rescue dogs, man’s best friend were used to help locate survivors and those who perished. Just like their human counterparts, these canines were exposed to extremely hazardous conditions. Without them, who knows how many more lives would have been lost.

-Chaplain Mychal Judge, a Catholic priest working for the fire department. Died comforting others.

These people, living and gone, are true Americans.

True Americans can come from any background, any country, and vary from each other in so many aspects. But they all share the same qualities.

Real, true Americans possess courage, hearts of lions. True Americans possess compassion, helping others in their darkest hour. True Americans value their fellow countrymen and countrywomen. They are willing to charge valiantly into the fire to save their brothers and sisters, and are maybe even willing to die for it. They are always prepared to rise to the challenge, they are prepared to serve no matter what manner that may come in. No matter where or when, they will come with willing hearts and determined, kind and courageous souls. These people embody the American spirit more than anything, as well as all of the other heroes of the September 11th attacks who remain nameless.

They are true patriots. They are true Americans. They are our heroes, or at least, they for certain are mine.

Their bravery, their sacrifice, will never be forgotten.

“Watch it, Todd,” Ransom growled as Todd slowly made his way into the study.

“Fuck you, Ransom! Are you kidding me?! After all I’ve done for you?!” Todd spat, tears of anger filling his eyes.

“Todd,” Abigail called softly, “just calm down and-”

“You! You little fucking slut! You fucking told me it wasn’t Ransom!”

Her eyes sharpened. “Out of all the times you lied to me and what you lied to me about, you think you have a fucking leg to stand on?!” Abigail shot back, losing her composure.

“I had my fucking flaws, but I was good to you! I loved you-”

She crossed her arms. “In what fucking world were you good to me?!”

“You ungrateful little bitch! I-”

“I’m fucking warning you,” Ransom snarled as his blood boiled, “watch what you fucking say to her!”

“Or what? You’ll kill me? Fuck you!” Todd yelled.

Before Abigail could realize what was happening, Ransom jetted towards Todd and punched him square in the jaw. Todd staggered a bit before landing his right fist in Ransom’s stomach. It wasn’t long before they were having an all out brawl. 

“Hugh, stop it!” Abigail yelled as she ran after them.

“You have her calling you Hugh? Such a piece of shit,” Todd laughed darkly, before swinging and missing a right hook.

“Me? You slept with her fucking sister!” Ransom yells between repetitive, rhythmic right jabs. “You put your fucking hands on her!” He connects again. “And you tried trick her into getting back with you?!” And again. “You’re a waste of fucking life! You never deserved her!” Ransom wails as his right hand continues to batter Todd’s now cut up face. Ransom’s knuckles pulse between jabs. Todd stumbled backward, woozily.

“Outside! Take this outside!” Marta yelled, trying to keep Harlan’s things from demolition.

Ransom didn’t miss a beat; shoving Todd through the doorway, out the front door and into the spring sunlight. Todd didn’t recover quick enough. Ransom dealt another blow; this time it was a right uppercut below his chin, causing him to fall down the steps unceremoniously.

“Hugh stop!” Abigail yelled, following him down the steps. “You’re gonna kill him! Stop!”

“STOP IT RIGHT NOW!” Linda roared, running up behind Abigail.

“You say you loved her?!” Ransom yelled, kicking Todd in his stomach. “No, you loved to dangle her in front of me! Knowing how much I wanted her and pretending to give a fuck about her! You only wanted her so I couldn’t have her! Cheating on her almost every night and talking about her as if she was just some girl at the bar you fuck?!”

“Hugh stop! He’s not worth it!” Abigail cried, as Ransom continued his assault with more kicks to Todd’s ribs.

Finally, Jeff pulled Ransom away from Todd as a few ‘friends’ ran over to help.

“I’ll fucking kill him!” Ransom yelled, thrashing against Jeff.

“Hugh go home,” Abigail as softly as she could, trying to calm her own nerves.

“No, I fucking-”

“Hugh, go home and I will see you later. Please, just go home,” she pleaded silently,

Ransom looked from Abigail to Todd, who laid bleeding on the ground, before breaking free of Jeff and making his way towards his Beamer. He gave one final look at Abigail before getting into his car, starting it, and speeding off.

Abigail sighed in annoyance, taking a look at the scene in front of her, shaking her head. She knew they should’ve had their talk at another time.

Abigail stood outside of Todd’s hospital room, trying to find the right words to say. She didn’t feel sorry him in the slightest bit, and she needed to make sure he wouldn’t come after Ransom. She swore to herself that she would have a talk with him later about his temper.

She sighed in frustration before taking a deep breath and walking into his room. “We need to-”

“You little slut!” Todd’s mother yelled, emerging from the corner. “You broke up a friendship and now you dare to-”

“I didn’t break up shit. Your son cheated on me first and-”

“My son would never cheat!” she spat.

Abigail let out a humorless chuckle, before pulling out her phone, bringing up the video Taylor had sent her, and handed it to his mother. “That’s him at a strip club with my sister, hand up her skirt, and lips on her neck. Please notice the date, we were very much still dating. Your son is a piece of shit.”

“I don’t...how could you do this to her?!” his mother asked him, clearly taken aback. “How could you...I am so sorry!” she exclaimed turning her attention to Abigail. “I thought that-”

“It’s honestly okay. He’s been spinning his little fairy tale to anyone who will listen. May I have a moment to speak with him?”

“Of course,” she smiled at Abigail as she handed her back her phone. “You and I are not done discussing this,” she glared at Todd before walking out.  

“Is there anyone you won’t turn against me?” Todd muttered, turning his gaze to the window.

“Maybe, just maybe, if you told the truth,” she started as she sat down in a chair in front of his hospital bed “you wouldn’t be in this shit.”

“If you’re looking for an apology-”

“I would never be so dumb as to think you would give me one,” she laughed crossing her leg over the other and resting her hands on them. “Leave Ransom alone.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?! After what he fucking did to me?!”

“It’s not like you didn’t have it coming.”

“Fuck you!” he spat, finally meeting her gaze. “You think you can come in here and just tell me what you want me to do? Leave your little boyfriend alone, like I owe you something?!”

“The way I see it, you do owe me something. You owe me a lot, so I really think this is bare minimum on the list things I’m telling you to do.”

“You can’t just boss me-”

“Yes I can, Todd. I can do whatever the fuck I want. Why? Because I’m done letting you run the show. Every part of my relationship with Ransom seemed to revolve around you and how you would react. How you would feel. I’m done with it because I sincerely don’t give a fuck what happens to you or how you feel from this point on.”

“You’re such a bitch,” he muttered. “What happens if I don’t leave him alone? You two gonna conspire to murder me?”

“I would never do such a thing. I’ll simply have your ass thrown in jail. I have more than enough proof that you’ve been letting your friends get off easy or keeping them out of jail all together. My mother is desperate for me to talk to her again, so I’m sure she’ll have no problem helping me out with this,” Abigail said calmly, a small smile on her face.

“Fuck!”

“You decide how petty you want to be. Is it really worth going to jail and being out of work? Is you being a complete and total asshole worth all of the drama and shame you’ll bring upon your family?”

“You’re doing all of this for someone who is gonna treat you like shit and break your heart.”

“Maybe he will and maybe he won’t. Whatever happens is none of your concern. This is the only warning I’ll give you, so I’d advise you take me seriously. Leave him alone and stay out of our business. For good,” she smiled sweetly before getting up and leaving.

As she walked out of the hospital, she felt as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. For the first time in a long time, she felt free.

Ransom paced back and forth in his living room while a million thoughts ran through his head. Why did he have to lose his cool? Yes, it was long overdue for him to kick Todd’s ass, but why there? Why in front of Abigail? He had just finished telling her how much he had changed, and then he turned around and resorted to his same old hot-headed ways.

He checked the time and huffed in frustration. Everything had happened over two hours ago and she still hadn’t shown up. She hadn’t returned his calls or texts and he was beginning to think that he had really fucked things up. How could he tell her that he changed and then act the same as he always did in the same breath?

Before he could think on it anymore, there was a soft knock on his door. He practically ran to the front door and opened it. “Did you lose the key I gave you?”

“I wasn’t sure if...”

“If I changed the locks? Like you did?”

“Do you want me to go?”

“Please don’t. Fuck, I’m sorry I just-”

“We need to talk,” Abigail said simply, placing her hand on his and making her way inside.

“Listen I know I fucked up-”

“Stop,” Abigail said softly, looking around the house. “You cleaned up.”

“My mother paid someone to come and clean,” Ransom softly laughed.

“Linda? Did something helpful?”

“She said after the talking to you gave her, she realized she needed to do better.”

“See? I can be useful,” she laughed softly, taking a seat on the arm of his sofa. “We need to work on your anger.”

“It’s not like he didn’t have it coming.”

“I never said he didn’t, but none the less, you can’t just go off like that, Hugh.”

“Yeah well, he’s fine and recovering. I didn’t kill him.”

“Yeah, I know. I went to see him.”

“What? Why?”

“To tell him to leave you alone. To leave us alone. I’m tired of our feelings and how we work revolving around him.”

“Fuck him. I’m not worried about...wait...us? You mean...?”

“Being without hurts too much, Hugh. It hurts, I hate it, and I don’t want to do it anymore. Maybe we’ll crash and burn and maybe we’ll make it. I don’t know but I’m done crying myself to sleep. I miss you and I want you back in my life. Hell, Sampson wants you back in his life,” Abigail chuckled, wiping away the few tears that had managed to escaped. “That’s probably extremely toxic but I just-”

She was cut off by his lips crashing into her. Ransom wasted no time wrapping his arms around her and picking her up. She instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck, as he made his way upstairs; never breaking the kiss.

When he finally reached his room, he sat down on the bed and pulled her as close to him as possible. Letting his hands roam all over her, he let himself get lost in her again. It felt as if he was being rained upon after a year in a drought.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered as he kissed from her lips to her neck. “I’m so sorry. I swear to God I will never hurt you like that again,” he mumbled.

“I’m so sorry,” Abigail moaned out, trying to to undo his belt buckle. “I’m so sorry left you. I swear to God-”

“None of it matters. We’re together now and that’s all that matters. We’ll never be apart again,” he whispered as he unzipping her dress and watching the straps fall off of her shoulder, revealing her breasts. “How are you always this gorgeous? How are you all mine?”

Abigail finally worked his belt off and wasted no time getting his shirt off. She took a moment to look him over, running her hands over his chest and drinking him in. “Tell me this is gonna work. Tell me we can do this,” she all but pleaded, looking him in the eyes.

Ransom could see all the fear and worry in her eyes and just wanted to erase the past the month. Erase all of the stress and worry that he had put her through. “We’re gonna be just fine. I promise I’ll never put you through any of that again.”

Ransom took one of her nipples in his mouth, messaging it with his tongue, while he played with the other in his hand, rolling it between his fingers. Her moans were music to his ears and he wasn’t ready for the song to end. Standing up, he gently placed her on the bed and quickly got on his knees, letting his fingers lightly trace over the thin material covering her most sensitive bud.

“Please don’t tease me,” she whimpered as she ran her hands through his hair.

“Not tonight baby, I promise,” he mumbled, moving the material to the side and replacing it with his mouth.

“Holy fuck!” Abigail cried out, grabbing fistfuls of his hair as he continued his assault on her clit.

Ransom laid his head against her chest, listening to her heartbeat and closing his eyes, finally feeling the peace he had been missing since they had broken up. Finally feeling like he was home.
