Mabel Drew. I blame @over-dvse and @inkedhorror. (Gravity Falls IBVS rambles under cut.)

- Drew and Nevin are probably the most obvious ones, taking the places of Mabel and Dipper respectively on a summer vacation to visit their abuela. (the mysterious “madam mystery”)

- Chris acts as Wendy, taking a job at the Shack in an attempt to gain some financial freedom from Xavier. It started as just a job, but over time he began to view Abuela and Cody, the Shack’s handyman, as family.

- Chris’ boyfriend Isaac and his friends Dez, Brinley, Stacy, and Niki come around sometimes too.

- Drew manages to find his people in Edward, Carter, Louis, Barry, and a tortoise named Pedro from the fair. However, a boy named Felix claiming to be a psychic seems very… interested in him. (Not to mention this is all going on while he feuds with local annoyance Justin Carver. Summer around here sure is busy…)

- Nevin is… nervous. Nothing in this town makes sense, and whenever he asks questions Abuela always manages to dodge it by bringing up a breakfast recipe. What could she be hiding?

(If anyone has a better idea for some of the characters’ roles, please shoot me an ask. I’m still not sure where to cram Ethan and the kids here. I also feel like Harley should be the puppet guy. I just. Have a gut instinct.)

the gradual development of ibvs has caused another twilight zone effect where I can't imagine felix swearing that much even though when he was introduced he was cursing all over the place. like him saying "for fuck's sake this little shit said the same thing", I just cannot imagine a universe where felix says that. I guess when granny samantha told him to get his temper under control he actually started trying to do it

I’ve had this ibvs theory floating around in my head for a while, but only now just thought to post it on here. (I remembered it after seeing this @maurmondz38 post specifically.)

So, something I noticed that differentiates the jocks is how colorful they are. Ed’s gang has a lot of color, like Louis’ cape and Carter’s sky blue shirt. The Packe are a bit more dull in comparison. They mostly wear darker colors, not including Felix’s weirdass shoes. There are, however, two exceptions to this rule: Ethan and James.

Ethan has a bright red shirt, but his letterman is zipped up. He’s literally hiding his true colors. No other jock does this. (Yes, not even James, if you crank up the brightness and zoom in.) James is also a bit of an outsider, but he isn’t trying to conceal it, openly going against Edward when he disagrees with him.

This leads me to conclude that James and Ethan will eventually switch sides, joining the leader that better matches their moral compasses. Will this actually end up being right? I’d say there’s a 50% chance. Could be this was planned by Kai for fun; could be they end up doing what I predict, but the colors were a coincidence; could be everything stays the same. You never know, but theorizing is still fun anyway.
