SO WE'VE SEEN EPISODE ONE THE ELEVENTH HOUR (gosh I love the doctor-related silly puns -- Eighth Wonder, Northern Star, You're A Ten, etcetc, good stuff...)

and I remember when I was watching this. I remember being quite excited. I remember being really into the season trailer (which is pretty good, still), and I remember being like "oh what the doctor is holding a gun!!!??!!!" (which is still a pay-off I remember thinking worked overall)

It's a good introduction episode. Murray Gold kills it with the music especially, Matt Smith is not bad, Olivia Coleman is there (pls can she be in DW again as a bigger role??? it's Olivia Coleman and she has nearly nothing to do in this??????) and we get what feels like the central ongoing conceit between the doctor and the new companion: that the doctor left her and so her entire self was formed around her child-self's belief of him -- it's pretty fucked up stuff, great for future work

new Tardis is beautiful. more like a laboratory now, more clean lines than Nine's and Ten's which was put together by scraps (scrap!Tardis my bby). It's shiny now, like a toy

notes the Doctor calling the Tardis "dear" is charming! and "I am definitely a mad man with a box."

Now obviously I know where a lot of things are going, but I will try to be reeelatively episode-minded, as if this were the first time. so on The Measurement of m*ffat's era, here's the rating, and then below some more in-depth explanation as to why. I added two to the initial lot I drew up and clarified a couple of the others

internal world has consistency (characters have backgrounds, feel rooted in a place with other people, generally feel like they have Lives): 7/10

FULL RATING: 61/100 (if I can count....)

OBJECTIFICATION: so I had this on 4 and put it down to a 3. Upon rewatch it's pretty egregious, the kissogram joke extends for a fair amount of runtime, from the initial long-shot up her legs to the doctor having kind of a patronising line later on:

little old lady: "I thought you were a nurse... or maybe a nun?"

the doctor: "what sort of a job is a kissogram?" amy: "I go to parties and I kiss people. It's a laugh." the doctor: "you were a little girl five minutes ago." yikes. also worth mentioning that this hinders her ability to. do things. like run. you see her stepping gingerly over a little chain fence and puling her skirt back into place, while the doctor is running to do stuff

PLOT-POINT: she does much better here, with little-girl Amelia clearly being very lonely and adult-Amy never having gotten over the Doctor seemingly abandoning her. I took points off, because for a lot of the episode after Amy is an adult, she's no longer the POV character. The Doctor is. she does get to be re-centred nearer the end again though, with her warring feelings of the thrill of the adventure vs the abandonment coming to the fore several times

she doesn't do much to solve the mystery overall, but we'll get to that in a bit

the bit where the tardis leaves amy again and she has an emotional trigger to waiting up all night for him! and then the doctor leaves again! for another two years! that's interesting stuff! And while she treats Rory poorly, that kind of makes sense, she's not super well-adjusted

COMPLEXITY: the plot is nice and actually relatively restrained, with the exception of the whole "and now we coordinate with the world to make every number a Zero," but that's more like DW silliness than trying to be too big for its britches on narrative level. I knocked off a few points, because it occasionally did some annoying visual m*ffatisms, like the bit where the Doctor is remembering Rory taking pictures of Prisoner Zero, and when Amy was remembering seeing Prisoner Zero. I see you Sherlock...

FURTHERS CHARACTERS/LORE/PLOT: technically not fair, as this is an opening episode, but I note that the Doctor spends time readjusting to a new body, there's references to the past (including classic!who), and while there's nothing referencing to what happened in The End Of Time, and how the Doctor got to where they were, well... that's forgiveable, it's meant to start a new audience, don't get too bogged down in right before. this may be highly subjective, but I do think there's emotional throughline between Ten's characterisation and Eleven's (I ascribe to the "the Doctor is born out of how the previous Doctor's arc ended" HC which is partially confirmed in some cases at least!) -- Ten ended things badly and Eleven is reckless, forgetful, childish, kind of impetuous, and even casually mean in a sort of "eleven-year-old just says shit" kind of way. Perfect way to keep people at bay, emotionally.

whether that's intentional or just how M*ffat writes his favourite characters, hard to say ofc, but it works in this episode!

COMPANION MATTERS: Tbh I don't think Amy... does much... in this episode. She's kind of running around after the Doctor and getting abandoned, which is fine for a first episode, because she has no clue what's going on yet! happy for it to be way more about her emotional journey (although I note that Rose, Martha, and Donna all saved the Doctor in their first episodes)

however, I think there were opportunities to give her -- and Rory -- more! Geoff is some random guy I'm fairly certain we never see again, and yet he seems to be coordinating the main line of defense for some reason? give that to Rory, he's dead weight after the camera bit

I think one Moment that really didn't need to happen was her calling the Doctor to figure out how to get into the hospital and he has to tell her to use her sexy policewoman outfit to pretend to be an actual cop, when that is like. the one thing this stupid gag could have offered her

GODLIKE DOCTOR: ok, I've seen stuff about the Doctor's final bit opposite Big Eye, and I'm torn about it. On the one hand, the Doctor as earth's defender is well-established at this point, including for that matter, Ten in the Christmas Invasion. Howeeever, Ten actually... did something there, rather than just said "look me up, I'm so impressive," which made the monster run away, and there was a whole thing related to that in that Torchwood then blew up the aliens!

because the Doctor, pointedly, isn't always there to defend earth (Harriet Jones, beloved 4-episode character arc!)

It's a good way to show some highlight's from Doctor Who, including previous faces, but I think more could have been done + I know that's kind of the plot of M*ffat's run... the whole "Pandorica" being about the Doctor, the "Silence Will Fall" is about the Doctor, "Doctor Who" is the question that will be asked- urghhhh, okok this doesn't count here! it's hard to discount when you know!

also tellingly M*ffat did this back in Forest Of The Dead as well, and it felt kind of like a cop-out then. Sure hope it isn't a recurring theme haha...

beyond that, we have the Doctor doing a very "I am smart everyone shut up" thing here, however I think in this episode it can be relatively forgiven, because this is immediately post-Ten and the Doctor is messed up and the Tardis basically was on fire and they're still in the middle of regenerating, and so there's... yeah, there's precedent for that kind of dismissive behaviour and the Doctor does like people in this + there's the aforementioned post-Ten personality, which is like an inverse of Nine's, which was also prickly, but in a different way

"look at your screens, whoever I am, I'm a genius..." -- does a lot of "why am I doing this, because I'm a genius, you'll find out when you need to know" but is tempered by buoying other characters, especially... Geoff, for some reason. who is there. and never will be again

PREV DOCTOR WHO: Yeah pretty good here. Nothing to report. Loved the first 15mins of trying to figure themself out and enjoyed the acknowledgement of previous Doctors and there's no "I'm the new and improved" type nonsense, or writing out the past

HAMFISTED SEXINESS: I mean. Amy. Of course. And also the bit where The Doctor is changing and Amy watches, it's just kind of unnecessary and clearly just there to be like "we dare go where no one has gone before: thinking the Doctor is hot!"

WORLD: Feels like a world. It's called Leadworth I believe? We have a host of characters from the village + a mention of Amy's aunt + Rory and his co-workers. There's a place, there's people, let's see where that all goes.....

POLITICS: Nothing terribly egregious -- its main issues are the aforementioned sexism. And maybe a bit of this. Doctor-as-central kind of makes earth seem comparatively free of responsibility for choices (although I note this is different later on in Hungry Earth/Cold Blood)

Overall I have no sense of whether this is a high or a low rating for M*ffat, we shall see how others fare!

It's biggest failings were: objectification of its main female character and companions not having much to do, while its strongest points were Amy feeling like a real character with real emotional depth, the world in which she lives (which is where it takes place) feeling like a real place, being fair to the narratives that came before it, and the plot not going all over the place in the name of Complexity

↪an absolute stickler for a proper routine, and an advanced one at that - he has high standards to uphold and never misses a step before bed and in the morning. he wouldn't mind of you did yours alongside him but he probably won't notice you for long. a major part is obviously his baths, he would not go a day without one.

↪sometimes he can join you in bed quite late, he either has students work to mark or simply cannot put his own work down. even when he joins you he probably falls asleep after you as he likes to indulge in late night reading.

↪a sort of mix between comfy and basic when it comes to his actual bed, it's simplistic yet extremely comfortable - in the morning it's pretty difficult to leave with how cozy it can be.

↪doesn't really move alot in his sleep, the occasional shuffle but not much. he isn't exactly a cuddler but if you want to he doesn't mind at all. however because he doesn't move much, if you two fall asleep cuddling then he needs to wake up first - which is normal - otherwise you're trapped in his embrace.

↪most mornings he does wake up super early and leaves quite early as well - he always gives you a kiss on your forehead before he leaves. on the rare days he has off, he stays in bed with you until you wake up and whenever your ready, he gets ready alongside you.

↪she is an extreme night owl. her lab work often keeps her very busy and if she starts a train of thought then she can't rest until she's seen it out to the fullest. most nights she does encourage you to not wait up for her for this very reason - ruan mei greatly appreciates if you do however.

↪her routine is either short or rather extensive, it just depends on how much time she has. morning routines are much longer more consistently as she tends to wake up rather early.

↪usually her bed is rather basic but you seemed to have contaminated it with what you prefer but she doesn't mind in the slightest. if you like her cat cake creations then she may have gifted you a few custom ones to keep you company.

↪surprisingly can be quite the fidgeter in her sleep, not drastic movements but she's just used to being busy. again, not exactly a cuddler but isn't against it if you wish as she knows she isn't around much so would indulge you.

↪most days when you wake up she isn't there but there's always a small note from her to you that is extremely heartfelt.

argenti ★↷

↪the most extravagant routine you've ever seen, the knight of beauty very clearly has a great routine for both mornings and nights. enjoys when you do yours alongside him and will always find time to do so.

↪he still looks pristine in the morning when he first wakes up, it's hard to believe he just woke up. although it may be helped by the fact that he has the most elegant bed that is very hard to leave in the morning.

↪not much of a mover but he can adjust quite a bit sometimes in his sleep. and if you're okay with it, he wants nothing more than to hold you in his embrace for the entire night. argenti is somewhat of a light sleeper however, so if you move alot then he easily wakes up but doesn't mind.

↪sometimes he has to leave early, sometimes he doesn't. it depends on whether or not he has a duty to fulfill but does get up early nonetheless. most days he'd let you sleep but if you need to get up he always wakes you with a kiss and a compliment.

kafka ★↷

↪being a stellaron hunter doesn't always allow for a proper nights rest but most times it does. however kafka cares quite a bit about such things and so when she can, she'll take the opportunity for a good night's sleep.

↪she's used to sleeping in bare minimum conditions but if she could choose, kafka would prefer more comfortable arrangements. so she's very accommodating to what you'd prefer to have your shared bed like.

↪enjoys taking time with a night time routine but sometimes she can't but isn't that fussed so long as she gets the bare minimum done. she would love if you joined her but again wouldn't mind if you're not that keen on such extensive routines.

↪she can be rather clingy - on purpose. kafka loves nothing more than relaxing with you in her arms and won't let up until she's content. the only time she needs to wake up is when she's executing one of elio's scripts so good luck escaping her grasp otherwise.

blade ★↷

↪again, being a stellaron hunter doesn't always allow for a proper nights rest but most times it does. although blade doesn't exactly have the greatest sense of having a good night's sleep.

↪absolute bare minimum for a routine, he doesn't exactly see why it should be anything more but fortunately kafka's influence has caused him to have some care. you're almost jealous that he can do bare minimum and still look like he does.

↪also goes for bare minimum when it comes to sleeping arrangements, he doesn't care what his bed's like. so he doesn't exactly care what you'd prefer as he would just go along with it.

↪when he does sleep, he sleeps like the dead. he barely moves to the point that sometimes you're convinced he's not even there, the only indicator that he's actually alive is the occasional twitch in his hands.

↪unfortunately, he can be prone to his mara-struck condition flaring up in his sleep which may take some getting used to seeing but he takes it upon himself to sleep elsewhere id he knows it is likely to happen to avoid scaring you.

↪prefers to have his own side of the bed and isn't a cuddler. after a very long while, he might indulge you if you are a cuddler but not always. he's also an extremely light sleeper that wakes up super early.

luocha ★↷

↪as a travelling merchant, he doesn't tend to stay in one place for long, so you would most likely travel with him. due to this, he isn't exactly fussed with where he sleeps and is used to bare minimum. he wouldn't mind in the slightest of you decide to change a few things however.

↪nightly and morning routines are important to him. he needs to maintain appearances and so can have rather extensive routines that he wouldn't mind you joining him with.

↪another light sleeper and sometimes you forget he's there because he barely moves. he's perfectly fine with cuddling and fine with not, although sometimes he does prefer his space.

↪never really has anywhere to go in a rush unless he knows he has people to meet or things to do, but he still wakes up early. however he normally would wait for you to wake up as he likes to start his day with you.

jing yuan ★↷

↪the dozing general has that title for a reason. despite the fact that he practically is on the verge of falling asleep most of the time during the day, he sleeps alot. it can be under any condition at any time but he does have a tendency to indulge in comfort.

↪has an extremely comfortable bed that is normally also occupied by mimi and so it can get very warm, very quickly which is a pain in the summer. this isn't really helped by the fact that he is extremely clingy, like to the max.

↪he always states that he sleeps better when his body is entangled with yours and knowing you're safe there with him, but he will respect if you aren't that much of a cuddler.

↪unfortunately he moves around a lot and because he's clung to you, you move with him. sometimes you two end up upside down at the foot of the bed and it baffles you that he can move that much. he is also an extremely heavy sleeper in your shared bed so good luck escaping him - when he's dozing at work he is a light sleeper however.

↪most days he does have to drag himself out of bed to work but aeons save you if he has a rare dayoff. you're never leaving if he doesn't let you as he forces you to let him indulge in your presence while he gets a lie-in. if you have somewhere to be he reluctantly lets you go but very stubbornly.

↪the worst bed hair you've ever seen, he always looks like he's been through it and spends ages sorting his hair. this paired with his actual morning routine means he takes ages getting ready. his night time routine is shorter as he knows it's rendered useless overnight.

↪he cares about his appearance as he does have quite the reputation to uphold and so his routines are always important and extensive - especially when managing his tail and ears to ensure that they aren't messy.

↪also goes all out for his bed, he knows what helps get a better night's sleep and he prefers to get the best sleep he can. so he might be a bit hesitant to let you change most of it but he's willing to compromise.

↪the absolute worst when it comes to sleeping, he's annoying, he knows it, and takes it in pride. has to be cuddled up to you and he wraps his tail over you to ensure that you don't go anywhere unless you have to. he barely moves but his tail is the menace mainly - it flicks and moves around alot and often ends up in your face.

↪normally wakes up relatively early and will wake you up if you need to. mentioned this before but, he will wake you up earlier if you braid his usual braid as he enjoys having you do so - he has absolutely no remorse for doing so. although if he has time, he will make breakfast for the two of you.

The problem was that Sylus had thought, against any sort of better judgement, really, that you were perhaps... similar to him.

He didn't think in the more obvious ways, no- he didn't think you would ever be a consistent player in black market dealings, he knew your idea of speeding was going maybe 15 over the limit at the max, and you definitely preferred nice cocktails over anything more simple like gin fizz or whiskey.

But he had thought you had a certain air of... maturity to you, that could match his own normally.

Well, you had proved him wrong.

Especially with Luke and Kieran.

He was honestly going to have to stop referring to them as the twins, and refer to the three of you as something more akin to the three musketeers.

It was a practically daily occurrence where he would wake up, and something, anything, would be out of place. Maybe the top three pairs of socks in his drawer were now mismatched, maybe the soaps in his shower were rearranged so his muscle memory would grab a bottle of conditioner instead of the shampoo and end up realizing only after he smoothed it across his damp hair. Nothing too big, but- little things.

And what made it worse, was that in joining those two little brats, you had effectively made the entire unit of you three better off. You were a horrible liar, but your brought not only a certain special brand of new ideas, but you also made it more difficult for Sylus himself.

See, he couldn't well punish the three of you with those sweet kitten eyes staring back at him if the three of you managed to get caught- and your involvement also was stirring up something... not quite new, per se. But something that had long since become dormant, and was so very rarely unearthed again throughout time.

And that was probably why you had found yourself putting on the wrong shoe on the wrong foot after visiting him occasionally, impulsively assuming that they had been left exactly how you had left them, too busy chatting with Kieran about something before you went on your way to notice ahead of time. Or maybe it was why you found your tongue turned purple in the mirror, stained such a goofily saturated color from something he had put in your portion of dinner set out at the table.

Of course, it took you a considerable amount of time to discover who was doing it- you had assumed Kieran had done it- or maybe Luke, out of revenge for not spending enough time with them, or because you had slighted them in some way. There was a small period of infighting between the three of you, before the dawning realization had come that- if it wasn't any of the three of you- who could it be...?

And while the three of you had all agreed on the same notion, that notion being that Sylus, the ruthless leader of Onychinus, did not play pranks, it was getting increasingly difficult to try and pin the blame on anyone else. Anyone else who worked for the man knew their place, or in better terms- wouldn't dare risk a silly prank directed at anyone who had a body count, or was closely associated with those with body counts.

It didn't take any of you long, however. To get past the initial disbelief-turned-shock about how Sylus was slowly joining in more and more in small little bouts of mischief- returning pranks that he received, or coming up with new ideas entirely- and start making even more of a game than it had been before. The four of you had a wonderful little game going on, and none of you seemed to want it to stop.

Not anytime soon, at least.

How did Tim and Danny end up in Jon and Martin's care? What was their adjustment period like?

Furthermore, what was Jon and Martin's adjustment period like after ending up somewhere new? Do either of them have any of powers from their previous life?

it’s not too much at all!! This did turn out super long though so there’re some details I had to skip… oops… but anyway I tried to go in chronological order. I hope this answers your questions tl;dr at the end :3

Okok so after MAG 200 Jon and Martin arrive somewhere else along with the fears. Their bodies come with them, so still have all their scars and marks (and also Jon is bleeding out lol). The somewhere else they end up in is similar to their original universe in some ways but also very different in others, for instance the Magnus Institute doesn’t exist. Because of the differences the fears also manifest differently than they used to, almost exclusively as (mostly) physical monsters rather than the more insidious metaphysical presence that they have in the podcast. Also no Leitners but I think that’s more because the fears only just arrived so they haven’t had time to appear yet (hint hint).

Jmart still have their connections to their entities as well as their abilities but those are also different, they focus more on the physical aspects of the entities as well. Jon isn’t omniscient anymore, he still Knows things occasionally but in general his abilities are a little more related to watching than archiving (the reason for that is an explanation all on its own so I’ll skip it for now in the interest of not making this TOO long). He also heals from being stabbed pretty immediately but I think that’s more of a one time thing than a consistent ability afterwards.

Martin’s abilities are mostly more specifically centred around fog and physical isolation than emotional distance. They're also a lot weaker than Jon’s (another explanation I’ll save for later lol)

They manage to get themselves together and get jobs and a home etc etc the specifics of all that don't really matter. They meet Tim a few years later while he's being chased by a monster (I think it's probably a Dark monster). They save him (Jon melts it or something).

Through talking to Tim they learn a few things 1) he’s definitely the somewhere else version of their Tim Stoker 2) he’s in foster care with his brother 3) he encountered the monster after sneaking out. After learning these things Jmart naturally do the responsible adult thing and help him sneak back into the house after making him promise not to sneak out again.

Obviously Tim wants to know more about the monster that tried to eat him so after some convincing they tell him he can visit them at the library Martin works at.

Tim starts visiting them semi-regularly, sometimes Danny comes along. Jmart tell him a little about the fears but not about their past at first. Eventually they learn from Tim that the foster home isn't great. It’s not outright abusive but the couple is very conservative christian and it’s just not a good fit. Tim doesn’t want to move, though, because he’s worried he and Danny will be separated.

They don't actually adopt Tim and Danny until after they’ve already gotten to know them fairly well, and they start with fostering them. So the adjustment period is a little more natural. I will say they definitely get to know and bond with Tim a lot faster than Danny. Danny definitely follows Tim’s lead though so he’s more inclined to trust them when he sees that his big brother likes them.

There’s a bunch more I could say about the specifics of the fear mechanics in the new world and the details of Tim and Danny’s history but this is already way longer than I planned so I’m gonna cut it here for now :’)

TL;DR: The fears are a little different in the new universe but Jmart do still have their fear abilities, they rescue Tim from a monster and eventually adopt him and Danny from their less than ideal foster home.

The groan Shoyo emits almost makes you break into a smile, eyes still shut as you hear him scoot a little closer.

“How did you know?” despite not seeing it, you can envision his pout all the same.

“I can feel your eyes on me, creep” you feign disapproval. He huffs, as always encouraged by the lack of authenticity in your annoyance.

“Don’t be unfair” despite still being heavy with sleep, Shoyo’s mumur in such close proximity succeeds in giving you goosebumps “not my fault my girl’s so pretty” his thumb traces your jaw with a soft touch. Your heart beats a little faster, still having a hard time adjusting to a charm so innate.

“Shoyo” you warn but he’s already burying his face in the curve of your neck, nose grazing your skin.

“I know, I know” he petulantly clicks his tongue “but don’t I get to claim you a little after last night?”

With a sigh, you can’t help the way your hand reaches into his copper curls to absentmindedly scratch his scalp, a content hum rumbling in his chest at the touch, imposing arm further curling around your waist.

Hinata’s always reckless like that, dangerously dancing around the edge of a precipice that could turn your lives upside down if you as little as took a peek downwards. You can hear it in his voice each time, how he doesn’t want to claim you only for one morning. The way he’d be ready to toss away the stupid occasional hookup for something different, for more, he’s always hungry for more in every aspect of his life.

“Shoyo” you playfully tug at the tangerine strands and feel che curve of a smile against your neck “we have to get up”

“Not really” he continues his ministrations, slowly sponging kisses over your shoulder “we don’t have to do anything. In fact, we could very well never leave this bed again”

A quiet laugh shakes him.

“Fine, put the government name away” a pause, you can feel each tense tendril enveloping it  “are you still coming today? I said I’d bring a friend”

“Will they believe I’m a friend?”

He props himself up on one elbow, golden eyes ever so slightly hidden by tufts of ginger curls the first thing you see as you finally peel your own eyes open. There’s hesitation in his stare, mischief laced into the smile tugging at his lips, but there’s also candor in his reply.

“They may not but I promise it’s what I told them”

You roll your eyes. Who could even believe you’re just friends when he can’t keep his hands to himself ever? They’re always glued to you somehow, whether you’re strolling through the grocery store or helping a tourist asking for directions. It’s like Hinata fears you’ll drift away if he doesn’t make sure you’re anchored to him shomehow. A hand on your shoulder, an arm around your waist, fleeting touches that never leave the small of your back or legs neglected.

And yet Shoyo never oversteps, always makes sure to respect your boundaries and your wishes. If anyone assumes you’re a couple, he’s quick to politely correct them. At the slightest hint of discomfort on your side, he takes a step back and busies himself with any other activity at hand. It’s why your heart painfully squeezes whenever you look into those big, bright eyes of his. It makes you feel as if you’re wasting his time, or worse, tricking him into entertaining a relationship that’s not really a relationship. Because of course you like him. But you’re not Shoyo, never scared of anything anymore, always ready to wear his heart on his sleeve. You’re firm in your belief that he could do better but are still selfish enough to relish in his warmth, for as long as he’s willing to give it to you.

“What?” he lightly pokes your cheek, amused, and you realize you’ve been staring.

“Can I kiss you?”

Hinata chuckles, cheeks warm as they always get when you timidly let some vulnerability leak through that stubborn facade of self-restraint.

“You never have to ask” with tenderness, he cups your jaw with one of his giant, warm hands, and cranes his neck to press soft lips to yours. It’s light, feathery but firm, tongue mildly prodding at the parting of your lips but never pushing in despite you giving him access. Shoyo wants you to remember these moments, the mornings he spends adoring you, the conversations late at night when you’re both too out of breath to fall asleep. He wants you to come back to instances when his sheer devotion shines through, hopes to seal how he actually feels into your skin and mind.

“We really have to get up” you whisper into his mouth before pulling away, pretend not to notice how his hand lingers on your face, thumb fondly grazing the corner of your lips “I don’t want to be late the first time I’m meeting your friends”

“They won’t care” he shrugs off your concerns but knows the perfect bubble he could spend an eternity trapped within has been popped.

“I will” you grin, peck his lips one last time before swinging your legs over the edge of the bed.

“You’ll also get mad” his pretty face contorts in… mirth? Like a kid who knows is about to get caught doing something he shouldn’t.

“Mad? At your friends? Why, are they sexist or somethin’?” you haphazardly slip into one of your comfy house dresses and shuffle to the bathroom, more or less convinced you still have some makeup to take off before hopping in the shower.

The reflection that stares back at you in the mirror is nothing short of horrifying. Still in bed, Shoyo gnaws at his bottom lip, awaiting a screech that sure enough explodes right away.

“Hinata!”

“I’m sorry!” he screams back, laughter barely contained as he realizes it’s best to get up too, in a silly attempt at containing your nerves.

“You’re sorry? I can’t go out like this! I look like I need to be rushed to the fucking hospital!” you cry out and his reflection, now staring at yours in the mirror, has the nerve to giggle.

“It’s not that bad!” he awkwardly scratches the back of his head “I didn’t notice I, uh, overdid it”

“You didn’t notice you went fucking Edward Cullen on me?!”

“Technically that’s not a good comparison, he doesn’t really bite her until the fourth-”

“Oh god, shut up!” you whine, stepping closer to the mirror to get a better look at the mess that is your neck. They’re just everywhere. Scattered just beneath your jaw, along the column of your throat, a couple on the side of your neck in intimidating hues of purple and maroon. They hurt.

“How about wearing a turtleneck?” he hopes the suggestion placates your fury but it only seems to fuel it.

“It’s 104 degrees outside”

“I’m sure some concealer…”

“Concealer isn’t going to do shit, it looks like I hooked up with goddamn Dracula” you almost stomp your foot in frustration and Hinata can barely contain the proud grin threatening to stretch his lips. He steps closer, wraps his arms around your waist and lets you deflate against his chest instead.

“I’m sorry” he murmurs into the crown of your head, eyes catching yours “you don’t have to come. I’ll tell them you couldn’t make it”

Unhappy, you lean into his touch. “But…”

“Hmm?”

“I wanted to meet them” the confession comes out quietly, just as you avoid his piercing gaze in the mirror. Shoyo swears his heart grows in size as his arms wrap a little tighter around you.

“Let me take care of this, then” he murmurs into your hair and you observe him for a moment too long, the way his tan, toned arms compliment your frame a dangerous thought you whisk away.

If his friends think it’s weird that you’re wearing a silk scarf at lunch, they’re considerate enough to never point it out.

Murder Drones | Cuddle Headcanons

Uzi

She probably not the best person to cuddle with, definitely not the worst.

Cuddle time with you might as well be a mental stress reliever for her, basically her equivalent of heaven. She'll basically melt in your embrace if she had an extremely exhausting day of either having to deal with Cyn's tail antics or just having to deal with the fact she turned herself into God. 

She'll go out of her way to ask for affection. Typically, by (depending on who you want to be) using her solver to pick you up and bringing you over to her. Basically semi-possessive in some senses. 

Her 'cuddles' however consists of her wrapping her -smoll- arms around you and squeezing way harder than what's necessary. She probably won't notice she was being way too rough until you legitimately start yelling at her, only then will she realize that she bent some metal on your body. 

She still has that rejectful attitude, meaning that she'll pretend that she doesn't like it and only did it to make you 'shut up.' Ignoring the fact that more than likely she's the one who initiated it.

When the only company you have was two people who basically abused you to some extent, it can be pretty hard to know how to cuddle. Especially depending on who you are, because then it could get awkward. Not that he's against it or anything, just that awkward situations lead to awkward outcomes. 

He may need a book for this.

To be more clear, he is absolutely open to cuddles! I'd imagine that there are long days for N that are stressful, sure. The little cinnamon roll (Fandoms words not mine) would absolutely need some of that.

After reading the same book about a few hundred times about how to cuddle -assuming there is even a book for that and that he's not just winging it- he can assume he finally figured it out. 

All while having the stupid sunglasses on his visor, trying to act cool and calm he'll slowly wrap his tail around you (more out of safety) and put his arm around you all while he's trying not to panic that if you even wanted to cuddle.

She's... Someone! To cuddle with!

She's previously murdered drones before, brutally. The murder part was in the job description, the brutal part does. Occasionally she would be flirty to the drones she was killing to bring their guard down, only to kill them minutes after. 

My point with all of this? Depending on how early you met her, you may have been witness to one of these sessions, which could make trusting her cuddles hard. That doesn't stop you from trying for whatever reason!

I say you because she'll almost never initiate any of it unless she was feeling really icky. But when she does have one of those icky days, she's basically the same as with N, only softer with it and more prone to shutting off (sleeping) during it. Again, she does it when she's icky. It takes some effort to actually do it when she isn't feeling vulnerable to some extent. 

When that kind of thing happens, she's rougher with how she goes about it, usually reluctantly wrapping her arm around you if she's annoyed by you for some reason, or unnecessarily flirty with you, basically hugging you like a teddy bear.

As heartless as she may be regarding some previous employees, she isn't a complete asshole when it comes to your two's relationship. By that, I mean she'll actually at least put some effort into it. 

More than likely, like V you're probably the one who forced her to cuddle. I do mean forced, because unlike V, J won't go out of her way to cuddle with you if she's feeling Icky or depressed, rather trying to handle it on her own. But she won't lie that having physical contact with someone she lo- 

Respects is nice once in a while.

The way she goes about the whole cuddling thing is just kind of... not? If that makes sense. She'll barely hug you, and even then, it's more of a side-hug than an actual hug. She's not repulsed by the idea of cuddling you, but she's still on the hinges about it.

To make up for this, she'll usually compliment you on your looks, effort you put into work, existing at all. 

"Good job on surviving against us for so long."

"...Is that meant as a compliment or...?"

"Did it not come off as a compliment?"

I will say outright that she's less prone for physical contact with you than any other drone purely because she's a more 'married to her work' kind of gal. But dammit, she values you barely more than her distraction- work. And she'll put some effort into cuddling you.

The Fellowship’s sleeping habits

Aragorn:

-He sleeps like a log

-Actually more like he’s dead in a coffin

-Always on his back

-Snores softly sometimes but only when he’s fully laying down

-He often sleeps propped up though to avoid this when he is in the wild

-Can’t be drawing too much attention to himself while he’s unprotected

-If he ever is sleeping on his side though he will drool

-Not a morning person by choice

-He can get up when he needs to but when he’s in the comfort of Rivendell or somewhere nice he will sleep in

Legolas:

-I think it’s so funny that elves canonically sleep with their eyes open

-And they can be walking around while doing so

-Very spooky and possibly has caused rumors among men that elves are actually possessed

-A very light sleeper because of this; but won’t wake to little sounds because he knows it’s nothing of importance

-He possibly sharpens arrows or something while “sleeping”

-Once again, very creepy

Gimli:

-He snores

-But it’s not so much loud as it is low and drawn out

-Could be mistaken as growling

-His snores also aren’t always consistent so it leaves you worried he just took his last breath before you hear him again

-Snort/grunts when touched in his sleep

-Pippin and Legolas may have made a game of lightly kicking him or throwing pebbles to see how long it takes to wake him and who can get the loudest snort

-Sometimes he sleeps on his stomach and his face is buried in a pillow and you don’t know how he hasn’t suffocated

Boromir:

-He is not good at sleeping

-And by this I mean he can never fall asleep and when he does it is interrupted

-He is very used to running on just a few hours of sleep

-That’s what coffee is for; which he drinks a concerning amount of

-He runs warm in general so he definitely sweats in his sleep

-He sometimes sleeps naked because of this but he always at least starts the night in pajamas

-Goes to bed late but also always wakes up early

Frodo:

-Can and will sleep anywhere

-Maybe this headcanon comes from the fact that apparently Elijah Wood is like this and would fall asleep if you left him alone for a few minutes

-If it’s his little cat naps he is very peaceful and just curls up

-However when he sleeps in a bed he takes up the whole thing

-Starts curled up but wakes up a starfish with his feet at the top of the bed

-Doesn’t have a consistent sleep schedule

Sam:

-Definitely needs a very plush bed if you don’t want him being a little grumpy and sore in the morning

-The type of person to judge a hotel room by the comfort level of the bed

-He sweats in his sleep but won’t leave his cocoon of blankets

-He does not move in his sleep but he definitely mumbles

-Rarely is it anything understandable

-“mmhmmmsms blueberrys hhmmmgggmmm *smacks lips*”

-Always ends up holding something in his sleep; could be a teddy bear, could be another person, could be a rabbit that just happened to hop over and get unconsciously grabbed

Merry:

-He definitely talks in his sleep

-Can vary between little mumbles to full conversations

-He occasionally sleep walks but never does anything too crazy

-More just creepy if you happen to see it

-In modern day he would sleep shop online

-He doesn’t think to check his charges to his card ever so he just gets packages of random things he doesn’t remember getting

-He always sleeps soundly and wakes refreshed and it’s annoying to everyone else; how rude of him to be so perfect

Pippin:

-Moves a lot in his sleep

-Cannot just roll over; it has to be an aggressive almost wrestling like jump

-Often falls off the bed

-Also doesn’t make his bed ever; if he grabs a fitted sheet that is too small he will just have half the bed covered

-Major blanket thief

-Will kick, slap, and lay on top of you in his sleep

-Drools a lot

Gandalf:

-He has no problem falling asleep but unlike Frodo he doesn’t get a good sleep just anywhere; he needs to be in a bed to get a good nights rest

-Scary to wake up

-Once when I woke my dad up from a nap for dinner he jumped awake and very sternly said “that was VERY rude” ; and to make it worse he listening to a movie and literally Gollum was talking in his ear; so this is where I get the “scary to wake up” from

-Anyway

under cut coz it’s long whoops,, tldr i wish the characters were more involved and fleshed out, both in backstories and their arcs bc there’s so much potential!! the groundwork is there!! but ig now it’s up to us to fill in the gaps 💪

hmm well most of my gripes with the game are mostly in character writing— like how some character arcs could be more consistent with the message the narrative is trying to give (ahem. petra)

there’s also some who are just tossed aside or are barely given arcs themselves. i’m mainly talking about olivia and axel here but lukas as well, bc a lot of the times he’s just kinda there to occasionally give a bit of dialogue or be the punching bag of the story— i mean just look at how many times he can (almost) die lmao. he doesn’t get to complain a lot despite what he goes through, and while i get he’s the type to bottle things up i feel like the narrative is too scared to let him get mad and have Emotions bc they want so badly to paint the picture of “fan-favourite nice guy pretty boy” and never deviate from it.

ig what i’m trying to say is characters in a story should feel like they’re actually involved in the world and in the narrative rather than be a decoration, no matter if they’re part of the main cast or just a simple supporting character. i just want more lukas pleas,,,

oh and other thing! i wish there was more backstory. ik dropping only small hints and nothing more is a good tactic to get the audience to theorise n stuff but i feel like there’s a little too little. like the warden, cassie, even the admins— they drop a few important lines of backstory and then it’s never brought up again... i’d love for them to have made side story episodes that are shorter but focus on one or a few characters just doing some slice of life-y things or to get a taste of the other storylines going on during the main one (like lukas’ rebellion era) just to expand on them more.

and yeah ig that’s all? i probably have more to say but can’t think of it rn. despite the criticism tho i still think it’s a fun game! otherwise i wouldn’t be here lol. just as it has it’s pros it also has it’s cons yknow

I cannot give/spawn/materialize things for/to Spamton if you ask because of the way it’s set up. You are really just lines of text from a computer to Spamton, BUT... You can still do a lot if you think outside the box. or,, errr,, outside the computer. More like IN the computer. Kind of. Your words and your actions affect him and his reactions to you, so word it correctly and you can get him to do something or say something. Hes not stupid though, and he CAN usually tell when your intentions are... less.. than good.

[YGM!] is technically an AU!!! not only do the events of the game not occur, but this is also set before then!

Asks are put out one a day, regardless if i have more than one, UNLESS i need to connect two(or more) to complete one event. Or i feel like it. a little treat.

I am one person doing every ask and every unique frame of art, so expect 1 ask (If youre lucky, two) maybe every other day Monday-Friday depending on my workload per day.

This is just for fun!! I am using the askbox to exercise my drawing consistency, Spamton's personality, and the way he speaks and responds to different situations! This is a way I am using to improve my understanding of him as a character, so it wont be always consistent as I am growing and learning!

Just a little disclaimer, he WILL be mean. He is a sour, nasty, grumpy, bastard and I am absolutely not opposed to him responding as such. Just keep that in mind when sending an ask if you dont want that!

If you want a common outcome, talk to other people about it! go crazy! I dont mind long threads on my posts if you want to create a plan. Infact, I can even help and tell you things occasionally!!

What you say to him DOES and WILL affect the way he responds. It is possible to regain his trust, but still a little hard. He is not a trusting person to begin with and being mean certainly doesnt help. BUT.. I am not opposed to being mean. Infact, they are quite fun to do. Either way is entertaining for me, so do as you will. YOU can choose to hurt or help him, because it’s basically always reversible in a way.

Using tone tags, while not required, are really helpful and assist me in understanding the intention in your ask if you think it may be interpreted another way! (i.e. sarcasm) :-)!!

I pick and choose asks depending on his situation, or if i have a good idea for a response, so you may need to wait a bit before i can get to yours!! Ones that i have an idea for take priority, especially when its to progress a scene. Or, alternatively, i am saving your ask for something i have planned.

I WILL reuse frames and poses to get these out faster and for my convienence :-) especially for the frames where there is no need to change his pose! So like.. dont think too hard about it lol.

I wont be consistent with the way its answered. Sometimes it's one panel, sometimes its a couple panels, or sometimes they're animated gifs!! It varies depending on what i feel, so if youre lucky you can get a gif, lol. Those take longer usually though. Ive mostly switched to a gif format rather than multiple panels in a comic style, because its much easier to view! The animation quality can vary :-)

I wrote this elsewhere for someone who was struggling to find information, and then realised it was probably relevant to many other people too, so I’ve expanded it a bit. Therefore I present;

Which boning do I want? A guide

Flat steel; flat steel flexes front and back, not side to side. Heaviest option. Pricy. Difficult to cut and finish (will tear holes in your project if you leave raw edges). Expect bolt cutters and a metal file, or faffing around with “tipping liquid” which may or may not be illegal to post in your country (Nail polish is only a temporary alternative in my experience). Will last a million years. Extremely robust shaping. If you want to hold up an entire garment on 3 bones; flat steel. DO NOT WASH (I’m not your real dad but also it does corrode eventually if you keep getting/leaving it wet)

Lot of people swear that even if you use different bones everywhere else, you want flat steel next to your eyelets. Personally; eh. This appears to be convention rather than based in solid evidence (bunch of extant Victorian corsets don’t have steel by the eyelets, some do, a lot we don’t actually know). Go with your heart and your wallet, especially for special occasion pieces

Spiral steel: flexes side to side as well as front to back. Lighter than flats (in theory). Pretty robust and long lived. Easier to cut than flat (still metal, still bolt cutters), but made of wire, basically, so you have to buy metal end caps and fit every single one with pliers. Cheaper than flat steel. Generally agreed to be more comfortable than flat steel but again. Still metal. DO NOT WASH NO REALLY I MEAN IT THIS TIME this stuff loves corrosion

A lot of modern corsets are a mix of flat and spiral and they will tell you that’s for flexibility but it’s usually for budget

Zip ties: cheap and they work, pretty much, but mainly cheap, extremely variable in thickness/size/flexibility, did I mention cheap? Don’t buy random ones online; you want to handle them and be sure they’re the size/rigidity you’re after (or even just feel good about. Some zip ties are incredibly flimsy. Heavy duty ones tend to also be thicc). Generally washable, but with highly variable results

Rigilene/other generic plastic boning: wafers of flimsy plastic. Surprisingly expensive and won’t hold up to a stiff breeze. Disappointment city. Washing sometimes also kills it? When people whine about plastic boning, this is what they’re thinking of

“Synthetic whalebone”: really fancy plastic. Consistent width/thickness/rigidity. Several options of width usually. Very light. Good balance of support and flexibility. Can cut with heavy duty scissors and finish with a nail file. Mouldable with heat. You gotta buy a lot at once, but not ultimately expensive in comparable amounts (big rolls, per metre, more cost effective than heavy duty zip ties; but are you gonna use 50 metres of boning?). Washable in a way steel just isn’t; must warn you that the whole “mouldable with heat” thing also means “very occasionally the tumble dryer kills one of my kirtles and I have to dig out a bone and replace it”

Synthetic whalebone means adjusting the way you think about boning a bit; one bone is not as strong as a flat steel. That doesn’t mean (as I’ve seen some people say) you can’t use synthetic whalebone if you’re fat; it means you’re going to want two, three or four bones side by side to do the same job. This is exactly what people did with real whalebone (good lord if you’re making 18th century stays or equivalent don’t use steel, it’ll be so heavy and uncomfortable). You can even put two bones in the same channel stacked on top of each other if you make it big enough. You tend to use more of it than you would steel, but it still usually works out cheaper - the “extra boning” channels thing only really comes into play for aesthetics (it is COMPLETELY FINE to pick the more expensive and difficult option for aesthetics and anyone who tells you otherwise is a coward)

Since it's a new year - and 2025 is a very busy year astrologically PACKED with rare planet transits -, I've decided to start off the year with a post about the planets in a birth chart.

As usual, use caution when reading my posts. Do research of your own, look for resources on astrology to deepen your knowledge, and know that is a microscopic isolated observation that may not always apply as is written.

Also, I am not an astrologer professionally, I just study astrology.

Saturn 🪐

Contrary to what it may look like from the tidbits you find online, Saturn's transit and influence doesn't ever end.

Even if planets did stop functioning, it wouldn't make sense for the planet of time and longevity to just stop working after some time.

So, no, Saturn's influence will NOT wane after your Saturn Return*. It's not like you end your Saturn return and then you'll never hear from Saturn again.

As with all planets in your chart, Saturn will continue to influence the area it touches in your chart for the rest of your life. It just may not be fully activated at all times all the time. But it will continue restricting and refining the themes it touches in your chart.

The difference is that after your first Saturn Return, instead of causing hurdles to force you to grow and master those topics, Saturn will be occasionally throwing little "pop quizzes" to ensure that you are STAYING on that path.

So it's not that after the Saturn return you're suddenly magically perfect and nothing ever troubles you again. It's that you've fine-tuned your senses to not let yourself slip in those areas again. So you tend to make better decisions, which in turn has you facing less problems.

But the lessons of Saturn are gonna continue with you throughout your life. Saturn is the planet of time, consistency, longevity, hard work and staying power.

*For those who don't know what a Saturn Return is, it's a transit from the planet Saturn that happens roughly every 27-31 years, in which the planet Saturn returns to the sign and position it was in during your time of birth. The first Saturn Return (around age 27-28) is considered your true welcome into adulthood. It is said that specially during the return Saturn's lessons will be specially harsh and incisive, as sort of a push and test to see if you've truly learned Saturn's lessons through the first 30 years of your life. Out of all the outer planets, Uranus has the least noticeable influence on you.

I, myself, would put Uranus into a category that I've created for the outer planets, called the "Social outer planet".

You really are gonna see Uranus play out more externally than anything. So anyone fearing freak accidents, sudden money loss, sudden deaths etc, because of Uruanus, can relax. It's probably going to affect your surroundings more than anything, rather than the events of your life.

In fact, let's low-key stop using outer planets for prediction-based astrology. Predictive astrology predates modern astrology and the discovery of Neptune, Uranus and Pluto, so let's chill on claiming they will wreak complete havoc in people's lives if they have heavy Aquarius, Pisces or Scorpio in their charts.

Those planers are known as "half-malefics", because they are unpredictable. So that doesn't necessarily mean terrible things coming out of left field. You're gonna feel the collective impact of them (which is why they are also generational planets), and then they have a very specific way of manifesting in your personal life.

Slow-moving planets, with long transits, so their impact will happen gradually. And in the case of Uranus, you're most likely to see yourself changing the way you do things, see them, think, feel, more than you'll see yourself randomly getting unexplainable events thrown at you.

Pluto 🔮

The overemphasis on Plutonic influence and force is a very Millennial take in Pop astrology.

It's a generation with Pluto naturally in Scorpio, so of course they are gonna feel Pluto's hold stronger than the rest. And out of the outer planets, Pluto is in fact that strongest, but not everybody alive feels Pluto the same way Millennials do. Specially people who don't have many other Scorpio placements.

A Mars or even Venus placed in the right place at the right angle can turn someone into a batshit crazy maniac. It doesn't have to be Pluto.

But Millennials have this inner restlessness that is very much associated with Pluto, so they can't detach from it, and then they think everybody else is feeling everything at 700mph like they are, so IT MUST BE PLUTO!!!

Nah... you just have ADHD and clinical depression, and are watching the collapse of modern society under capitalism. (I'm joking, I'M JOKING!)

In all seriousness, though, people talk about seduction and magnetic this and that with Pluto, and even power, but they don't talk enough about STRENGTH. And why Pluto gives so much strength.

It's not just the birth and rebirth thing - which isn't even originally associated with Pluto, BTW -, that birth and rebirth has to come when you're constantly getting your life pulled from under you. It's also the fact that Pluto gives power through isolation.

It sits at the very end of the solar system, just a ball of ice, so far removed it was even demoted as a planet. Yet, it's still going strong. Why? Because it can manage on its own.

Pluto gives one power because it teaches a person to do it on their own, with no warnings, no resources, no sympathy. Just survive and get it done. And then crawl your way back. All on your own. So you end up becoming extremely strong and powerful out of sheer will to live.

And also pride, because you fought and clawed to own what you got. (Which is where the obsession and possessiveness comes from).

Hey y’all, I’m cancer-free now, so I’m gonna try to get back into writing random headcanons again. Today, it’s SCP Personnel and the hobbies I think they’d have.

Clef

Clef seems like he’d be an annoyingly fast learner, which means his hobbies switch fast. One week he might be cooking, but as soon as he gets good at it, he’s gonna learn blindfolded axe throwing or something else until he gets good at that. He has a very wide skill set, especially in combat, but he can’t really stick with anything for very long. The only hobby he consistently has is movies. He watches movies and references them all the time, and hopefully you’ve seen the movie because the references convey important information. He’s also really well-read, and will make references to well known classics as well, but he usually saves those references for people he thinks are stupid and won’t understand them.

Kondraki

Kondraki is determined. Once he gets good at something, he wants to stick with it more and get better. Besides photography, he composes music. He played cello in high school, but doesn’t really play anything anymore and instead just writes music that he thinks would sound good. He also, on occasion, goes birdwatching. If anyone gives him shit about it, he will bash their skull in, but he finds birdwatching to be a nice thing to do, especially on a cold morning as the sun is just coming up and almost everyone is still asleep. He’ll take a cup of coffee with him and just watch the sky for a little bit before he has to go to work.

Shaw

What hobbies can an immortal have? All of them! Shaw speaks almost 50 languages, plays 11 instruments, and studied astronomy for a good 20 years. However, most of their hobbies are from earlier, when being immortal still seemed cool. Nowadays, Shaw is just majorly depressed and doesn’t have the mental energy to keep doing new stuff. Thinking all the time like that gets exhausting. One thing they still like doing, though, is hosting parties. They invite whoever they damn well please on the given day, and it never gets old. Shaw knows that these people are good friends, and someday they’ll be dead, so Shaw wants as many memories with them as he can get.

Glass

Glass sometimes feels like the Foundation Staff’s punching bag, and it sucks. His way of managing his feelings is through golf. He golfs, and he is really damn good at it too. Probably could’ve won some local competitions, if he was allowed to participate. He finds it relaxing to be outside in the fresh air, and therapeutic to swing a golf club. Unfortunately, it’s hard to get permission to leave the Site and go golfing during his weekends and off-days, so he jogs when he can. He’s said he’d like to pick up tennis, but you need an opponent, and it’d be weird to play your therapist in a game of tennis.

Iceberg

Iceberg’s hobby is explosives, but I think he likes baking. The warm oven offsets how cold he feels, so he used to just have the oven running whenever he was home. He likes sweets and desserts, so he decided that he might as well learn how to make cookies, and it took off from there. He’s good at it, but he’s also insecure about being perceived as “doing girly stuff”, so he doesn’t usually share the things he makes with people. He’ll usually drop off a birthday cake for people on their birthdays, but he’ll say he bought it at a local bakery or something.

Gears

Gears was always fascinated by calligraphy, but it took him a really long time to get good at it. He doesn’t have time to practice hobbies like that when he’s busy running the largest Site the Foundation has. He also likes cooking, and unlike his assistant, he’s very open to sharing food. He doesn’t really express contentment through words or expressions, but he will occasionally give food he made to the people he trusts. He’d be really good at baking if he tried due to his excellent precision, but he doesn’t like things that are too sweet, so he sticks to cooking.

Strelnikov

Strelnikov likes climbing trees and seeing if anyone notices him. To him, it’s a measure of stealth, and he likes to play a game and see how much he can learn about a person from at the top of a tree. People find this very creepy. He also can play the acoustic guitar, but he doesn’t know anything about music theory, he just kinda knows how the song is supposed to sound.

jkdshfkhskd it's been a hot sec since I've done this. Teagan won the poll last time, so we'll be going over him today!

appearance:

There are two kinds of people— you either prefer Teagan or Asterias. These two are genuinely so fine that students tend to like them (like a crush yk, not just platonically or smth LMAO) based on their personalities rather than solely relying on their looks.

Teagan’s got golden olive toned tanned skin, gray eyes, and full messy black hair. He’s got defined masculine leaning features and he’s ABSOLUTELY ripped. I didn’t make him like this without a purpose— It was simply because he helps his family transport heavy crates to different ships and wagons (I mean like he’s quite active in general, not just walking of course, he likes fighting and working out)

Teagan has a severe case of RBF despite his personality; he’s got no tattoos or piercings, tho I think he’d like to get his ears pierced.

I realized I haven’t said what style they like to wear, so I’ll do it for Teagan today (I’ll edit the rest of the posts with their own styles eventually). Teagan isn’t really into fashion; he values mobility and comfort over style as long as he doesn’t look, in his opinion, ‘noble and stupid’. He doesn’t like stiff shirts, so he usually wears looser garments. His wardrobe consists of brown, dark brown, black, cream, and very occasionally… dark green. He almost always wears some kind of boots (unless it’s a special occasion, he’d be wearing the black dress shoes his dad forced him to wear). As for his hair, if his hair’s long enough, he’ll tie it in the back. The most he’ll really do is brush through it.

personality:

Teagan’s a total extrovert and tends to have large circles of friends. When he’s alone for long periods of time, he can get a little antsy. I imagine that he’d bother his friends to hang out during finals season, but since everyone’s probably studying, he’d have to accept taking some notes in the library 😭

He’s the kind of guy that would try to help you out with literally anything, even if he’s not good at it. He’s a terrible artist, but loves to draw stupid things just to mail them to his friends. Teagan would definitely also pass notes around in class. Like Straus, he’s a terrible dancer, but yk at least Straus gets dance lessons… NEVER dance with this guy.

Despite his playful nature, he knows when to get serious. Teagan’s more of a logical thinker, but he’s incredibly kind and doesn’t like to see people he’s close to get hurt.

He really loves eating meat and raw fish. His dad had to stop him from eating fish straight up out a river (uncooked) many times as a child. Teagan’s also really good with kids; he knows how to cheer a kid up or teach them something without getting super irritated. Teagan’s weird asf not gonna lie, but hey at least he’s a really good cook. He doesn’t really cook for people he doesn’t know honestly, so like he only does it for people he’s close to.

relationships & status

Teagan was raised by his father after his mother died giving birth to him. Unlike a ton of Isekai manhwa fathers, his father didn’t hate him for being born, rather, he put all of his love into raising his son.

Teagan was raised well despite his non-noble status— his dad is a wealthy merchant. He often interacted with nobles because of his dad’s business; through these interactions, he grew a strong hatred for nobles. It isn’t rare for those higher in the social chain to treat people ‘lower’ than them with disrespect, and he definitely got a glimpse of this kind of mindset when attending meetings with his dad.

When Teagan was about 8 yrs old, his dad adopted another child off the street. This child ended up becoming Teagan’s little brother; his dad called him Archie because he used to arch his brow whenever he was the slightest bit confused— but then at around 3 years old, his dad decided that he needed a better name, so he named him ‘Archer’. Teagan and his dad still calls him Archie. When you shift here, Archie will be 13.

As you’d expect, Teagan’s really close with his dad and his younger brother. Teagan was supposed to inherit the family business, but since he’s an S-ranked rider, Teagan’s dad began teaching Archie all the stuff he needs to inherit his dad’s position just in case Teagan wants to do something else with his life.

His dad doesn’t want Teagan to be involved with super dangerous jobs; he’ll likely get pretty angry if Teagan wants to pursue a more dangerous career.

Will Hunting x Reader

Monotonous is probably the best way to describe my life. The dictionary definition of monotony is, and I quote, "lack of variety and interest" or "tedious repetition and routine." Yes, monotonous is a good word.

My world consists mostly of working too much and sleeping too little, doing my best to make ends meet but not always quite making it. It really sucks when you try your damnedest and people disregard you entirely. It's not my fault I was born into what they deem the wrong family, born into the lowest tax bracket in the poorest part of Brooklyn. But that's fine I suppose, what have those people ever done for me?

When I'm sitting on the train I try not to consider these things, the train home after work is the one time I have peace, stillness. A respite from grease stained clothing and hands covered in peeling burns, away from condescending managers and leering men. There's one train car that's always abandoned for some reason, and that's the one I hide in. I love it there, the silence, the peace.

Until he started showing up.

Well, until my shift changed at work.

A disgruntled and petty manager meant bad hours for anyone caught on the receiving end of his wrath, and this week it was me. The last thing I expected was for this to change my lack of company during the commute home, but when I climbed into my abandoned car, there he was.

Sprawled out on a bench with a glazed look in his eye was a shaggy blonde boy staring blankly out the window.

Why was he here? Nobody's ever here, but I couldn't think on it long before sitting down in my usual seat, on the other side of the train car.

He never spoke the entire ride, never looked at me once either. The longer he went without looking at me, the bolder my curiosity grew, and the more I allowed myself to study him.

I expected his presence to be aggressive, as most people's felt. Something to be highly alert around while also detached. Or kind of scared at the very least, I'm alone in a confined area with a man I don't know, that seems to warrant some concern.

But he doesn't seem to be a threat, so while I watched him that first train ride I allowed myself to be curious until we got to my stop. When I got off the train I refuse to think of him any longer, it doesn't do me any good to dwell on a stranger I will never see again.

And then I do. My work hours don't go back to normal and I suppose this is just how things are now, and my train car is no longer empty on the way home.

He's always there, always with that pondering look. Sure the expression on his face changes, there's tired, resigned, smug, angry, but he's always pondering. And yet I've never seen him exhibit joy. He's the type of person I would like to see joy on.

But what are these thoughts? I don't even know his name.

At this point we've been riding the train together for months, only the two of us in that car. After a little while he's started looking at me, but I don't mind it. He never looks at me in a jeering or perverted way, never once made a gross remark. In fact he's never made any remark to me ever, about anything.

As we continue to ride the train I find we both seem to have a thing for the stars, many nights I've seen him watch them longingly as I often do myself. What an interesting man he seems to be, and yet as I assume him to be my age he can't be very old at all, I would guess twenty two at the oldest. So I suppose he's an interesting boy.

The longer we ride together the more he looks at me, and the closer our seats get to each other. We probably have about eight feet diagonally between us now, as we have for the last week.

The closer we get the more I notice about him. Occasionally he carries books, although they stay mostly tucked under his legs. The books seem to be largely about math, something I've never been the best at, and he never has the same book twice.

I want to speak to him now, a far cry from the first time I saw him. I want to ask him about the things that he ponders and the books that he reads. I want to ask if he grew up in Brooklyn as well, and question him about how he understands such advanced math material.

But speaking feels like it would be overstepping, breaking some unspoken agreement to leave the train car how it is. To never go any further than just comfortable strangers, continuing your lives separately. So if someone was going to take the risk, it wasn't going to be me.

Although I suppose the shaggy blonde boy is more adventurous than I am, because while I convinced myself that silence was necessary, he turned and looked at me and in his thick Boston accent said,

"I'm Will."
