That being said, POOR LOKI!! MY HEART BREAKS FOR HIM!! I know reader will be okay, she seems strong enough to bounce back no matter what happens. But Loki's older, and almost more vulnerable because of Narvi and his family history. I'm so sad for him!

You're a great writer, I'm invested and will be thinking about this for the next couple weeks as I count down the days until the next chapter!

I KNOW this is just such a rough situation. i can't blame the reader for how she's reacting, because i think we've all shut down like that before. at the same time i can acknowledge that what she's doing is really not good over on loki's end.

i also do think that, at the end of the day, the relationship IS actually higher stakes for loki. he hasn't really had a lot of (or any) emotionally intimate relationships, he hasn't had a partner in a little over six years. he also is older, and it's really hard to make connections (be them platonic or romantic) once you're out of school. his struggles are also just very, very real. loki is a single parent dealing with his own unresolved trauma, and he has to deal with the fact that his son has that same trauma. it's not to the same degree, but it eats loki up inside either way.

in one of the wanda chapters, the reader tells wanda she thinks loki might love her even more than she loves him. that is NOT the case - they do love each equally. however, their circumstances are very, very different. it's a small but important distinction to make.
