Welcome to Revenge of the Underrated!

Some of you asked me to put a "haven't watched both" to be more fair to the more unknown movies, but I've seen other tournaments doing this and I think it limits too much who can participate in the polls. So what I decided to do is a double elimination!

What does that mean? That means a movie has to lose twice to be eliminated. In other words, there will be a sorts of losers bracket that'll be part of main bracket. I'm undecided on whether to do this for only one round or the whole bracket, as it would make the tournament very long. Do let me know if you have any opinion about it.

Speaking of voice claims I was thinking about Tily but then I learned her original voice actor was Jodie Forrest who you might know as the voice of Sissi from a classic, Code Lyoko.

Which yeah it fits pretty well already.

Something I've mentioned before is I tend to take the Raywiki's "portrayed by" section with a grain of salt given they got Inspector Grub's section incorrectly credited. (They've listed Danny Mann as his voice actor when it was actually Billy West.) So I tend to check other sources to make sure these are correct. Since I like making sure I have proper credits.

I found nothing for "Jodie Forrest" but I did find "Jodi Forrest"

Jodi did some of the voice work for Younger Goku and Gohan from Dragon Ball Z movies as well as Puar. It may depend on the dubbing version. I know it did for when David Gasman was doing Goku in the English dubs. She was also the voice actress for Jade in Beyond Good and Evil.

Personally I like seeing Tily with Puar's voice. I can't speak for Sissi since i've never seen a single episode of Code Lyoko. Heard about it in my youth, just never watched it.

Tily doesn't make much of an appearance in my story verse. It has to do with the lore behind "The Wild Ones" or the species of fairy that Ly belongs to. They very rarely venture out in public, Tily included.

Rayman may be a beloved hero, but there do exist people in the Glade of Dreams who do not trust him simply because he's an outsider. They care not for his ties with the fairies or his ties with Ly. They want him to stay away. This usually results in Tily being removed from Rayman's presence by the older members of her kind.

Tily is one of the more rebellious members of their people, but she's still kept far away from the matters outside of their own.

So I somehow got into the rabbit hole of watching reaction videos to Dragon Ball Z Abridged.

It surprises me how many people have not seen the original Dragon Ball Z or even just Dragon Ball. I remember not actually liking Dragon Ball Z all that much (which is why I seem to have gravitated to the abridged version for actual entertainment) and the only part I did like was the part the creators of DBZA stopped before (the Buu arc). Meanwhile I really enjoyed original Dragon Ball.

Just... going on adventures through this weird world loosely inspired by Journey to the West was a lot more entertaining than endlessly screaming and fighting stronger and stronger intergalactic foes. Then finding out that some of the creators of DBZA didn't really watch original Dragon Ball either? It's wild to me.

Seriously, I was born in 1990 and started going online in those often talked about "wild west" days when a simple search could take you to some unexpectedly explicit sites and the only thing between you and that content was your decision to be honest about your age or not. It's how I came across the Sailor Moon/Dragon Ball Z porn crossover and how I gained access to sites like adultfanfiction.net when I was underage and that was entirely down to the fact I was choosing to ignore the age warnings and exposing myself to 18+ content. The sites did the required thing, I chose to ignore it and sometimes I encountered things I wasn't wholly prepared for but I always understood that was on me and because I was on a site I was too young for.

I repeat, I knew I was doing something I wasn't supposed to because from the time I was 13+ I wasn't a helpless little moron who didn't possess the basic intelligence needed comprehend what consenting to access 18+ sites when I was underage meant and I had no one to blame but myself. These days, Internet literacy is greater than it was when I was a minor online (most of the underage kids had parents who grew up on the Internet and know what it's like, in contrast to many 90s and early 00s kids) and the warnings are better in terms of knowing in advance what you may be getting into (unlike the Geocities days of old where you go looking for fandom content and find loads of MA fic and porn-y edits on someone's fansite they didn't think to warn for or those old Yahoo chatrooms where literally anyone could be on there doing anything). Trying to shift the blame to anyone else when you go seeking out content you know you're too young to be exposing yourself to is just a cop-out to avoid taking accountability for doing something you know you shouldn't and facing the consequences for it by being shocked, squicked or triggered by what you find after ignoring the warnings. It's Pandora's box people, if you open it and don't like what happens that's on you because you were warned and had every opportunity to show some self-awareness and ask yourself, "Should I really be doing this? Am I really prepared for it? Maybe I should heed the 18+ warning and not open the box."

This entitled idea that the Internet should be sanitized is, quite frankly, stupid. Yes, I am calling people who believe that is how the Internet should function stupid because they are. They're stupid because it is the simple-minded approached to a far more complex issue they're either too lazy or unwilling to critically address. The Internet is not meant to be the baby-sitter of underage children. It is a tool, a melting pot of users of all ages and all different regions of the world and as a result you are going to encounter a lot of varied content and ideas and if you're not taking the proper precautions to curate what kind of content your children may encounter that is entirely your fault for not making the effort. If you're not sitting down and having conversations with your children about online safety and how they can also be responsible for curating the content they should be looking at that is entirely your fault. If you're underage and ignoring the best efforts of sites and creators to apply age restrictions and warnings and you encounter something that shocks or triggers or upsets you because you ignored those warnings that is entirely your fault.

The only time it is not the fault of the user is when some adult online goes out of their way to be predatory and expose someone underage to content they are too young for, because that does happen (it happened to me back in the day) and that is exactly why parents need to talk with their children about the red-flags to watch out for just as they do for stranger-danger offline. The reality is that up to taking the legal precautions now required of 18+ sites to keep minors from accidentally stumbling onto explicit content, strangers on the Internet are not responsible for what other people's children are doing and it's stupid to expect them to be. That doesn't mean it can't hurt for adults to educate themselves on redflags to watch for in their fandom and also just the best protocol for if they encounter advertisements to sites that are obviously trafficking children (pro tip if you encounter blogs here on Tumblr linking to offsite "porn" sites that are clearly trafficking underage children don't just report it to Tumblr because all they do is remove the blog, report it to the Feds and they'll properly investigate) but what it really comes down to is that underage people on the Internet and their parents need to be responsible.

It's the same logic as having a baby and expecting every location you go to outside of your home will go to the extremes of baby-proofing everything for you before you arrive. That isn't how it works, you have to watch your kid out in the world and as they grow up the kids have to learn how to make judgment calls for themselves a.k.a. stove is hot, do not touch. This "think of the children" hand wringing is just an extension of the conservative outcries/redherings currently being used to justify the discrimination of lgbtqia+ people and poc creators and in every instance where it works and people buy into it lgbtqia+ and poc creators are the most affected (and the actual predators out in the world are even more insulated and protected because of all the hand-waving misdirection of the far-right taking our attention away from the real danger to children and desensitizing us to child predation with an overabundance of false claim narratives even as they defend the legality of child marriage in states where it's legal in the US). It's time to use your brains and start thinking critically about the content you're seeking out and exposing yourself to on a case by case basis because that is the only real answer, and you'll notice it isn't a conveniently easy one because this puritanical conservative don't think too hard just let us sanitize everything for you approach is far more dangerous and harmful and strips people of all their agency in the name of "safety." That's what happens when you give up accountability for yourself and/or those you're responsible for (i.e. your kids) and embrace sweeping censorship because it seems like the easy answer to a far more complex issue you don't want to be bothered with tackling.

Yes, and they can access most porn sites if their parents aren't paying attention to them by lying about their age and clicking a little checkbox.

If mommy and daddy didn't teach little Timmy not to copy-cat what he sees or reads in fiction, that's mommy's and daddy's fault.

If mommy and daddy didn't set up some child safety on the internet machine that connects indiscriminately to a wide variety of material posted onto the internet by a variety of people around the world that they let little Timmy play on, that's mommy's and daddy's fault.

If little Timmy isn't illiterate and sees tags and content warnings about something that he knows is going to squick or even trigger him, but he reads or views it anyway, that's little Timmy's fault.

If little Timmy is too immature to curate his internet experience--if mommy and daddy don't teach him how to do so, that's mommy's and daddy's fault. If little Timmy is old enough to be able to do so and he's still too immature to take such actions, that's little Timmy's fault, and perhaps his parents should be more involved with their child and less neglectful and negligent.

Maybe children shouldn't be exposed to the internet all willy-nilly. The internet as a whole is not child friendly and should not be, because way more than just children use it. There are child-safe websites and games that little Timmy can play on.

It's the parents responsibility to keep their child from wandering off and getting lost in meatspace.

Story Idea: Journey to the East

The great Chinese classic Journey to the West (Xiyouji, 西遊記, 1592) (The Journey, hereafter) can be summarized thus: The Buddha feels that China has become an immoral nation and therefore sends the Bodhisattva Guanyin to seek out a pilgrim from the East who will make the quest to India in order to retrieve salvation-bestowing scriptures. A young Buddhist monk of the Chinese Tang Empire is chosen, and along the way he takes on four monstrous disciples, including a monkey spirit, a pig spirit, a river spirit, and a dragon-turned-horse, who protect him along the journey. These disciples defend their master against leagues of demons and spirits who wish to eat his flesh. After countless tribulations, the group completes their mission and are welcomed into the Buddha’s paradise as a reward.

Now imagine this story taking place in Medieval Christian Europe. A young (French or German) Christian monk is chosen by the Virgin Mary to journey to Jerusalem to retrieve salvation-bestowing scriptures. But unlike Tripitaka from The Journey, who is a Bodhisattva reborn on earth, the monk could be a former saint or angel. He too takes on monstrous disciples. Sun Wukong could be replaced by a club-wielding Wodewose or “Wild Man”. See figure one for an illustration of a fur-clad example from the 1530s. The club, leopard fur, and headdress are all perfect proxies for Monkey’s staff, tiger-skin kilt, and headband. Perhaps this Wild Man is an old god from pre-Christian Europe or even the biblical figure Cain, who is sometimes portrayed as a hairy man in medieval traditions. His club could be a treasure from heaven or Cain's infamous jawbone weapon. The wreath headdress could serve the same purpose of keeping his raw power and unpredictability in check. Or, considering being a Wild Man was also thought a form of madness (that brought with it physiological changes like the growth of hair all over the body), the headdress could provide lucidity, essentially suppressing Cain's wild, bestial nature and power until absolutely needed. In place of Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and the dragon horse, the monk’s other disciples could be fallen angels-turned-demons, each being subdued by the Wild Man and reformed. Each could be based on figures drawn from European and/or Judeo-Christian mythology. Their weapons too could be from heaven. The disciples then defend the monk from all manner of witches, demons, and spirits who wish to eat him. Tripitaka is pursued in The Journey because cultivating religious piety over ten lifetimes has made him a walking elixir capable of bestowing immortality on any monster who eats a piece of his flesh. Perhaps the Christian monk’s origins as a saint or angel explains why he too is pursued by evil. Casting the Wild Man as Cain would make this aspect interesting since religious sources depict him as the origin of all monsters on earth. He would essentially be battling his extended progeny. The group retrieves the scriptures from Jerusalem and delivers them to Europe, and in the end they are welcomed into heaven as a reward, each one achieving a particular heavenly rank.

Deciding when to set the story would be an interesting thought exercise. Though The Journey is based on oral literature from as far back as the Song dynasty (960-1279) and published in its final form in 1592, the story is set during the 7th-century. Perhaps our tale could be set then, or during the early Crusades (11th and 12th-centuries), or even during the time of the Black Death (mid-14th-century). The onset of war or disease might justify the journey from Europe to Israel.

Dear Followers of SessRin's Fan Club

This morning like every morning I get up at 5:30am to have mommy time. I make myself a cup of coffee and check out my channel and other social media networks, and of course see whats going on in the Yashahime and SessRin world! When I woke up this morning, I was shocked to see I have successfully gained 101 subscribers!! Not only that, but my Yashahime Vlogs! Both Videos have almost reached 1,000 views!! My reaction to the trailer has received so far 892 views and the latest yashahime vlog has received 980 views and counting!! That’s INSANE!!

I’m just a small-town southern girl in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia! I’m a full time Hairdresser, wife, and mother of a wild 2-year-old little girl named Maria. When I started SessRin’s Fan Club 3 months ago, I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was there were amazing sessrin fan fiction stories that people needed to know and talk about! I had so many thoughts and theories when it came to sesshomaru character arc, his wife Rin, and Yashahime! I was a big fan of Inuyasha when I was in middle school. I would constantly sneak out of my room in the middle of the night, just to catch the beauty of the feudal fairytale. Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon also played a major part of my childhood. I was going through tough times when I was kid, having my parents divorce and move into a new town, and new school was very overwhelming. But not only did God get me thru it but those Anime shows including my all time favorite Inuyasha kept me happy and sane. Like the others Inuyasha helped me escape that world of darkness and made me forget my hardships and life changes. I escaped to world of hot demons, badass battles, core and blood, hardships and a beautiful but complicated love story of INUKAG! My love for the show and most of all Sesshomaru and Rin has always been in my heart and soul as my most favorite characters! With Sesshomaru I learned to be tough and have confidence in myself, and of course he’s so sexy duh!!! Rin taught me to love and respect. Kindness and loyalty in friendships and relationships. I have always believed they were meant to be together forever!

So, when I heard the annoucment of Yashahime Princess Half Demon season 2. I was thrilled and excited! Looking at the twins I knew right then and there our dreams as fans had finally granted our wish! And was officially annoucment on Jan 16th, 2021, they were CANON! My world like yours was forever changed and for the better. My love for fan fiction grew even more and I was so in love with some. I just wanted to climb up these mountains and shout for all to hear! There are writers who are so gifted and so talented. They really should have consider having their works published! Their stories and plots were better than some book on the New York Times Best Seller. So, 3 months ago I decided then and said “Screw It!! I’m goanna do it!” and so here I am!

Now I know I’m not the best of the best on YouTube’s Platform or anywhere as a matter of fact and that’s ok! I know it takes years and a lot of money and challenges. It has and its goanna be a lot of work, and I still have so much to learn and achieve before I can get there. I have recently started saving money on the side to have the opportunity to purchase new equipment but most importantly new software! Since purchasing my editor software ive been able to edit my videos so much better and I really enjoy being creative! So here over the course of the next few months, you will start to notice the channel’s improvements and several changes overtime, so please hang in there with me! My plan for this channel is to start having better opportunities to connect with you thru live streams and have great discussions! SessRin’s Book Club is in the works as well! A place where we can do and discuss our Fan Fic stories of the month. But most of all getting to know the writer and learning about their journey. I'm also getting prepared for Yashahime Season 2!

Vegeta stands in the corner of the small officers West University, leaning comfortably against the wall adjacent to the door. His eyes slide over the shelves full of books, the framed diplomas, the practical little figures of bones and organs and chemical compounds. Words like theoretical physics and bioenergetics adorn these paltry human props, unnecessary evidence of their owner’s obvious brilliance. A plastic figure of a man with an abnormally large head and wild white hair nods minutely under the blast of the building’s air conditioner, looking a bit out of place among its more functional kin.

There is a light giggle somewhere down the hall, followed by a hushed feminine voice, and a deeper, much more familiar voice answers at full volume, oblivious and cordial. Vegeta snorts, listening to the insipid girl’s disgruntled complaints for just a moment before shifting his keen senses to the soft footfalls heading towards the office. He waits quietly, closing his eyes and shivering at the warm flush of the man’s ki as the door swings open gently.

“Hey, Vegeta.” The man murmurs, a smile in his voice. Vegeta hears the door click shut and smiles back, opening his eyes and raising an eyebrow as he looks the other man over. “Y’know, I don’t think you’ve ever come to visit me in my office before.” He says, closing the distance between them, stopping just before they touch. Vegeta can feel the heat rolling off of his body, his scent flooding the prince’s senses, drawing them together as though they are magnetized. “What’s the occasion?”

“The occasion, brat, is that I haven’t seen you in months.” Vegeta answers quietly, dropping his head back against the wall so he can look up into Son Gohan’s face with narrowed eyes.
