i love stargate so much but it is absolutely a show whos lore is a roland emmerich movie script, a children's guide to egyptian history, and whatever the writers thought was interesting on any given week duct taped together and expected to bear the load for the entire franchise

its very stupid but this is why i love it so much. because it takes the thought experiment of "what if the ancient aliens guy was actually right" and just goes fuckin hog wild with it

So me and the r1999 dc server's lore chat decided to watch Out of The Dark (1995), the movie An-an Lee is based on. The movie is where a ghostbuster, a girl, and a group of security guards team up to expel the ghosts that lurk in an apartment in Hong Kong.

We concluded that Kwan (the girl) was AAL, while Leo (the guy) was Pavia, X, and Vertin in one body. Why?

This man had Pavia's personality and world-class acting, X's inventions and wits, and Vertin's skillset and resilience/endurance.

Comedic character associations aside, we did figure out why AAL is based off of this movie. Design-wise she looks like Kwan, but a lot of her abilities and quirks come from Leo and other aspects of the movie. I wouldn't spoil it if you'd want to watch it.

This movie is something I'd recommend if you like horror/comedy with a mix of nonsense, it was entertaining and quite an interesting movie! Warning that there's heavy violence and dark humor in the movie too, so tread carefully when watching.

Wild to me the way not wanting be spoiled for things has become such a controversial stance on this here internet. You say you don’t want spoilers for a movie and people act like you’ve burned their house down. “But it shouldn’t be able to ruin a well crafted story!” I’ve never said it ruins the story. I would just like to experience the story the way it was intended without knowing how it ends before I’ve even seen how it starts. “But knowing gives you a better appreciation for the journey, and the ability to pick up on foreshadowing and themes!” That’s what a second watch is for, if I liked it enough to be interested in a deeper understanding of those things.
