Hey can we talk about how disheartening it is when as a disabled person unable to work you're given money to live off of but its actually nowhere close to being able to live off of? And how it makes no sense? I am disabled, I have been officially judged by the welfare department as being unable to and/or impacted in my ability to work, so theoretically the money I recieve is to make up for this and ensure that I can live, but it's literally not even enough to cover rent most places let alone other bills and food. I am lucky in that I live with my mom and she covers many costs, but not everyone has that option, that or staying with their parents or a partner means staying in an abusive or harmful environment, studies show disabled people are more likely to be abused. This system is trapping them. And so then you're presented with two choices: Work, no matter how hard and damaging it is to your mind and body and health so you might be able to live, or do what you can with what little money the government gives you, if it's even possible, at detriment to you and your quality of life.
And honestly, this just feels like the government doesn't care and wants us to die. That's the message they're sending, when they say "we recognize you can't work, but we won't give you the money you need to be able to live". And what's sickening is that the people around us don't bat an eye about this and may even think what we do get we don't deserve or is enough. My own father went on an angry tirade to me about how he has to pay alot of taxes, a portion of which go to this, which just tells me he doesn't care about me or my disabled friends and familys wellbeing. That he would rather us die or destroy ourselves working so he has a bit more money in his pocket. It's a sick individualistic mindset, to only worry about yourself, and not care about having a functioning society in which everyone is taken care of, including your family, friends, and even yourself, in the case you become disabled or simply grow old. Who doesn't want that? To be against that isn't only harming your close ones but also yourself. Why are you so upset about the idea of contributing to a society that takes care of its people.
This is a bit of an unprompted post, this topic has just been on my mind for a while. I wish things were better for us and that we could all live the lifes we deserve
#btw not to say that like. ppl Have to contribute to society. thats wrong and everyones worthy of living because theyre human and alive#but why is the idea of helping the ppl around u so appalling when it only helps them and urself ?#not to mention these r the same ppl who tell disabled ppl they “have to work so theyre contributing to society”#ok. so r u gonna contribute to society or just bitch and moan about how u dont want disability pay to be higher cuz it comes from taxes.#tldr being a disabled person feels like the government and even ur family would rather u dead cuz its cheaper#and the system as it works rn is actively leading to the abuse harm and even deaths of disabled people#actuallyautistic#actually autistic#autistic#neurodivergent#audhd#actually adhd#adhd#disabled#disability#actually disabled#wiki rambles

God the new ultimate guide sucks
It's not JUST the awful art, either. The art's just worth mentioning because even if the book's info had been terrible or contained nothing new, really cute art can make it still worth having.
But, no, it's even full of recycled lines we've been hearing for years like "Bramblestar Can Match Squirrelflight's Fire Not Contain It," and that's when it DOES get everything right. These entries leave out major, important details (making them bad summaries) and are sometimes even straight-up incorrect.
SUMMARY THOUGHTS
Leafpool is said to have watched Brambleclaw kill Hawkfrost to save Firestar-- but for one, no, she was not there because Ashfur was still leading her and Squilf towards the scene. For two, no, Brambleclaw did not kill Hawkfrost just to save Firestar, it was self-defense. Hawkfrost had him pinned and was going to kill him.
They're REAL cute about Leafpool's death, too, neglecting to mention WHY the Sisters needed to be saved at all and just saying Leafpool's "generosity" lead to her death in that cave-in.
I'm not even going to get into everything on Bramble's entry jesus christ.
Sagewhisker's entry is ESPECIALLY fucken' dandy, framing Yellowfang's Secret like she was simply waiting patiently for Yellow to realize her 'destiny' and not actively shoving it on her at every opportunity.
Leopardstar's entry states that romantic interest in Tigerstar was part of her motivation. "Perhaps she'd hoped he would be her mate" please speak to a woman irl for once in your life.
Gray Wing's entry forgot that the reason he "blamed himself" for Bright Stream's death is because he was literally staring at his big strong brother too much and tripped on a root in front of him. It IS his fault she died.
Clear Sky/Skystar's entry is just obscene. "He regretted abandoning his son and after a fire, he encouraged him to live with him" instead of "saw his teenage child was useful now and bullied and belittled the kid and his uncle into letting Thunder come with him." "Retaining his fierceness towards his cats and outsiders which caused his son to leave" instead of "murdering, brutalizing, and abusing everyone around him caused Thunder to leave." I'll just say this tho; "Fierce" is an interesting way to spell "Cruel."
It's interesting that they don't point out that a major part of Jagged Peak's arc was proving he was "Just As Good" as every other cat in spite of his disability, thanks to his introduced-and-pregnant-in-the-same-book wife becoming his life coach, only earning Clear Sky's respect after being allowed to physically lead a patrol in Blazing Star. Instead they frame him finding his place through taking care of kits, which... was something he seemed to resent in the actual series, considering how the books suddenly treat Gray Wing's protective treatment of him as a terrible thing in Blazing Star because he "didn't give him a chance". But at the same time I actually strongly dislike Jagged Peak and his messy, frustrating character arc so I'm not really UPSET with it. Just... noting it. I suppose this is the official direction they're taking away from it?
Shadowstar's entry is barely even 3 paragraphs yikes.
SHORT STORY THOUGHTS
And if you're wondering if the 4 brand new stories they smooshed into the end in a desperate attempt to make the rush job worth buying are good? No. Of course not. They're all slop.
Story 1: Firestar and Graystripe
First one's a marginally cute story about Graystripe and Firestar which is setting up the framing device linking the mini-tales together. They both remember this situation where Firestar fell into a ditch wrong. The punchline is that Thunderstar remembers it perfectly and they're both like, "WOW! Too bad Thunderstar's memory sucks!"
It's not terrible, but it does feel a bit pointless. But, hey, if you want more Firestar and Graystripe in the series that tosses them fanservice at every turn, who am I to judge?
Story 2: Dovewing and Ivypool
The next one is the Dovewing/Ivypool reconciliation passage everyone's talking about. It's... fine, but immensely dissatisfying to me.
Dovewing is apparently having problems adjusting to her Clan, grapples a little bit with the fact she has no friends but is going to be finding meaning in helping tigerHeartstar "bring the new ShadowClan into existence." She ultimately decides that she needs to talk to her sister, and begs for reassurance that Ivypool believes in her, feeling that her support can help her get through this difficult time in her life.
I think its biggest problem is that Dovewing was not the right choice for the POV here.
Dove was never the one responsible for the rift in their relationship. Ivypool is. Ivypool is the one who was jealous, willing to sabotage anything that would put Dovewing closer to Tigerheart, and continues to be generally aggressive towards her. So when Dovewing is reaching out to Ivypool in hopes of them reconciling, it feels wrong because Ivypool is the one that should be reaching out to Dovewing. SHE is the one who has some things to apologize for, and to show how much she loves and misses her.
It's even kind of frustrating, because Dovewing can never catch a break. She has to have these problems to force her to reach out, Ivypool even ends up suggesting that she leave and come home and take her kids with her, but in the end even a LITTLE bit of assurance from her aggressive sister helps.
I feel super bad for Dovewing, man. She deserves better than this cheap writing. What was the point of such an unsatisfying, rushed reconciliation, shoved into a crummy field guide, when we KNOW from the newest book that they're just going to use tension between them as part of the drama anyway?
shouldn't have even been written, imo. Even ends off with, "They'll always have each other :)" which is so... cliche. It's TIRED. Are any of you really happy with just getting a retconned platitude in a good-for-nothing field guide, instead of seeing complicated, INTERESTING feelings in a main book?
Story 3: Alderheart and Twigbranch
A tale of Cherryfall getting sick during TBC and Alderheart sneaks back into the territory to treat her. Also Crowfeather has a scene where he yells at him. Charming.
Twigbranch comes up with a diversion while Alderheart does his work, which is cute. It's a fine story.
Story 4: Clear Sky
Trash. Three dogs spawn in the middle of a gathering so that Skystar can have an uwu big boy sendoff saving his grandkit. Then he goes to StarClan and throws a fit because they can't give him ANOTHER life, becoming so upset that he attacks the nearest woman. Naturally, Shadowstar brushes it off because it's not the first time Clear Sky has pummeled her in the midst of an adult tantrum and this book series thinks violence is fine if their favorite sadboy does it.
Then Gray Wing brings him to the magic mirror pool where you can see the living, to confirm that Star Flower is ok and that makes him feel better.
Then it launches into Firestar saying "ouuuugh yum I LOVE the taste of his butthole. Clear Sky is so misunderstood, He Just Loved Too Much."
to which Graystripe responds, "Yes, he was a good and amazing person and his farts smells SO good, and can you believe that some people think StarClan punished his Clan for his arrogance? As if he ever did anything wrong, ever?"
Firestar, indignant, refutes it with, "Ugh!! StarClan would NEVER be interesting, we don't punish living cats we just float around and make vague, frustrating prophecies that do nothing but pad the word count. Why cant ppl understand that, gosh."
who wrote this? Gray Wing??
#The amount of passive voice Clear Sky has to be surrounded with in order to look like a redeemable character is dizzying#I feel like I'm reading a headline about cops who blew up an orphanage every time I read anything official about him#oh wait im sorry. A ''high-pressure accident which occurred at a government institution with 3 officers present'' lmaooooo#ultimate field guide#bone babble#im actually REALLY glad actually they havent been making these#This was garbage#There were a few good things in this but overall? Absolute slop. I wouldn't even feed this to a pig.#I think this is actually down there with Cats of the Clans (with Rock) for worst field guide#This is abysmal#You would be better with the wiki summaries and the 4 stories are mid at best#What a shame that they re-pivoted so hard from Riverstar's SE which I was JUST praising for tossing out that shitty ''redemption arc''#Nope. We're right back to square one.#How much do you guys wanna bet it's ONE writer who's OBSESSED with Clear Sky and every time he writes anything he does this#I'm not sure who wrote this one but let's see if my hunch is right lmao

#vote blue#this isnt even about trump really#this is about republicans wanting control#they want total control#and are actively trying to turn our government into a dictatorship#i didnt even add everything theyre trying to do with this prpject 2025#i was reading the wiki about it when i made the post#so if i left out a group of people whos loves will be irrevocably changed by a red president#i apologize

This may never gain any traction for anyone to see but if you’re buying salt at the dollarama do not get the one by heavenly spices they’re a product of Israel. It’s off the label now but there’s one on my shelf that has it labeled clearly
#dollarama#bds#free Palestine#i came back from vacation and noticed my roommate had bought a thing of salt and it had PRODUCT OF ISRAel#O.O#I’d throw it out if I wasn’t so against waste#but yeah when I went today I was looking at the shelf to see if they still had it labeled that way and nope#nowhere to be found the only thing that even gave a hint was a small icon with Hebrew (I don’t read Hebrew so I can’t say what it said)#and the pink salt in a bag was labeled from Vietnam but the salt grinder version didn’t even have a country of origin#all in all do what you want with that info but I personally would never put my money towards a product that has ties to Israel#given the opportunity#l wonder if it’s against labeling Xcode of practices to omit the country#or whatever the governing body cause I rarely see products without country of origin#i was going to link a wiki page or company page but I can’t find one#they also sell this on Amazon

"What do you think the one piece is?"
"We need to know who Zoro's parents are"
I JUST WANNA KNOW HOW TF THIS MAN HASN'T DIED FROM BEING TOO CLOSE TO ALL THE ACTION THAT HAPPENS IN THIS SHOW.
JUST BECAUSE HE GOT FIRED FOR SHITTY PHOTOS DOESN'T MEAN HE WASN'T STILL THERE. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THAT GHETTO ASS CAMERA CAN NOT ZOOM FROM LIKE A MILE AWAY HE GOTTA HAVE SOME VOODOO MAGIC SHIT GOING ON.
I DON'T CARE THAT HE WAS REALLY CLOSE TO THE FIGHTS IN THE LIKE ONE (?) SCENE HE'S BEEN, SOME OF THE PHOTOS HE GETS FROM CERTAIN FIGHTS THERE IS NO WAY HE WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO ZOOM THAT FAR IN ON THIS POLAROID CAMERA LOOKING DEVICE.
HE HAD TO BE HIDING SOMEWHERE CLOSE BUT THINK ABOUT THE COLLATERAL DAMAGE OF THOSE FIGHTS. How many bricks do you think have hit him in the head? Maybe that's why he forgot to take the lens cover off
LIKE I GET HE GOT FIRED EVENTUALLY BUT LIKE PEOPLE WILL BE IN THE MIDDLE OF FIGHTS AND HE'S JUST LIKE 📸
AND NO ONE NOTICES? NO ONE? You are telling me no ones like... HUH. You know there's some flash coming from that bush there... OH SOMEONE MIGHT BE HERE. And sure maybe they notice and don't say anything but wouldn't most people say something? Especially strong pirates.
The undercover journalist act not an act anymore bc he got fired lol rip bozo may work for some photos but I don't know if being a journalist is gonna stop a building from sliding on top of you because Zoro decided to be a showoff in the middle of a battle.
My point is that if he hadn't been fired I think that a moment where Sanji confronts him about the injustice that are his wanted posters is something that was robbed from us.
#I got way too into this#attach#attachan#one piece#attach d. photo#mugiwara#strawhats#pirates#marines#world government#monkey d. luffy#if there is an explanation I missed please tell me because I looked through the wiki page and read one of the SBS about it but idk#Just wanna know how he hasn't been held hostage or something idk dude#He's still an icon even after he was let go#I need an update please.

the more i read about the 2006 palestinian elections via wiki page rabbit holes the more i think the language surrounding it is so EXTREMLY weird considering where we are now with a divided palestinian government where theres not been legislative or presidential elections for soon 18 years even tho the attempt has been made at Least twice and has been embraced by both hamas and fatah in 2021 only for the scheduled election in may the same year to be suspended indefinitely by soon 18 year president abbas whos term was supposed to end 2009
from what im reading hamas and fatah got a ye old american split in 2006 where hamas got 44% of votes and fatah 41% which was a shock for israel and usa who favored fatah, this in itself would have not been a problem if not for
SURPRISE! PEOPLE GETTING INVOLVED THAT HAVE NO RIGHT GETTING INVOLVED!
the quartet on the middle east is a group of the usa, russia, the un, and the eu which for some reason was in charge of mediating between israel and palestine (please observe the usa bush administration in the room with us as well as the marked lack of middle eastern representation within the mediating parties)
the quartet said that the election was free and fair but
where youd fucking think it was the non-violence part that hamas had problems with or the recognizing israel part and maybe it was but im reading the wiki page for the Road Map of peace which is what this is talking about and good fucking god dude its so bad but if you insist on not reading the article which you should its terrible just know that famous war criminal george bush of 9/11 fame and a hardline israeli president (who as defense minister was found by an official israeli enquiry to bear personal responsibility for the Sabra and Shatila massacre) was calling a lot of the shots and being dicks about how palestines parliament should look like and who should get to do all the violence (israel, against palestinians)
so yeah the quartet was kinda asking for a lot and hamas which had branded itself on reform and change to the at the time kinda pathetic government (re: Road Map from 2000-2004 holy shit) said we're not gonna do all that to which fatah said well then were not forming a unity government to which hamas went well were gonna form a government anyways and they did which was followed by a year of tension and conflict between hamas and fatah, international sanctions levied against the palestinian government, and the blockade of gaza (which hamas had not yet taken over)
in 2007 a unity government was created. according to leaked documents authenticated by the guardian and published together with al jazeera; abbas and the PLO conspired to form this government and if it didnt meet the quartets conditions abbas would dissolve government and set up an emergency government, which happened when hamas allied forced and fatah allied forces clashed in gaza, believed by IISS to have started over suspicion by hamas that the fatah allied presidential guard (loyal to abbas and expanded by the us) was going to take over gaza
concluding statements: the way the media talks about this time is either that gaza exclusively voted for hamas without mentioning that hamas won the majority in all of occupied palestine, or its talked about as a coup done for shits and giggles with no contributing factors. whats almost never talked about is the external involvements prior to and after the election
abbas has the constitutional power to call an election as the president, he could just do it still, thats a thing he could do
#palestine#rambles#this is all wiki stuff so some sources may be wack#but from what im reading like... fatah isnt looking good politically#then again theyve had 14 fraudulent fraudulent years to be better so who knows#i decided to have a look at the papers in question and the fact that abbas went with the percieved Worse option of the emergency#government is kinda telling to me now in hindsight what with the lack of elections#they say in the papers that it would be in the national interest to form a government that ''adheres to the quartettes principles''#but like didnt they preform a coup and then refuse to hold elections?#feels kinda wild to read like surely fatah wasnt planning a coup which led to the event which the western world calls a hamas coup?

hi! sorry if its been asked before, but do you have a general canonical rundown of the larger gov. structure in kotlc? i know it goes like council -> emissiaries, who are nobles but then idk. how many are there? what does the rest of the nobility do? do they have any other decision making body than the council? thank you!
Hi! I should set a rule prohibiting starting asks with apologies because y'all are apologizing for existing at this point.
That aside, the canonical government structure begins with the council as the primary ruling power, each councillor nominated by the people and then selected by the currently ruling council members. There is no other decision making body, it is just the 12 councillors.
Below them is the entirety of the nobility, though we aren't given specifics on how many there are. It's framed like it's a rarer, coveted, important thing to be in the nobility, but we do see a significant number of nobility in the books. Our exposure may be slightly skewed, however, as Sophie is interacting with people the average elf never would.
The highest up after councillors are the emissaries, as you mentioned. Below emissaries are the regents (that's what Sophie and co. became in Legacy), but regents don't take orders from emissaries. Both respond directly to the council. They do what they're instructed to do by them, the more classified and important tasks being given to higher ranking, experienced nobles.
Mentors are also members of the nobility, though they're doing very different work teaching students. Keepers and Probes are also individuals who work specifically for the council, though there's fewer of them as its a highly specialized position.
So basically the government structure of keeper is: 12 all powerful councillors, a body of individuals they give orders to carry out at various levels, the rest of the population. Which is supposed to work because the elves are above corruption and none of the councillors would abuse the power, and all are in service of their people. But the councillors are the government. Everything's held together by trust. That's it.
I hope that helps!
#kotlc#kotlc worldbuilding#tw-5#quil's queries#the government is held together by the idea that elves are good people who can be trusted with that kind of decision making power#if someone decides to be a bad person you're fucked#because the structure just gives them (councillors) all the say in the world#oh btw the wiki has a great page on the nobility#this post basically says the same thing as that page#but that also has handy dandy links to other pages you might be interested in :)

Oh motherfuck, that was really well-written and I'm Invested and that bit about Flatwell had me cackling xD If time and thinkmeat allow for it, how'd Erik react to the corps showing up? (No pressure meant, that was just a really fascinating little look into the world)
thank you, i'm glad you liked it!
as for when the corps showed up, the PCA were very much like fuckfuckfuck when the Corps showed up. They reported it back to the UEG (which is the United Earth Government), who then told them to get hard evidence that they were corps and not very elaborately disguised mercs/wildcat miners. Whatever evidence the PCA got was never "convincing" enough, though, and eventually they gave up, realising that the UEG had discreetly approved of this.
Complicated Earth politics time: the UEG publically condemn any corporations that MAY be on Rubicon illegally doing Coral mining, IF these allegations are true. In private, however, they have an agreement with the Corps that if they do strike it big on Rubicon, they'll give a cut of the Coral to the UEG in exchange for them running the media circus allowing the Corps to continue their expedition mostly unimpeded.
So, after figuring this out, the PCA ended up taking a very restrained approach to the Corps' invasion. when the Corps settled in an area the PCA knew was mostly absent of coral, they let them fuck around there hoping they'd get discouraged and fuck off. Unfortunately the Corps stayed and kept on digging, and they only really started to act when Raven arrived on rubicon and kickstarted the plot by destroying that watchpoint...
#fanfic rambling#i need to finish that wiki doc i'm making of apv stuff#like the UEG#i went insane and planned out this whole government system#and how the corps function within it#and the role the pca have as well#AND how mercs fit into this as well#but its very disorganised so i need to organise it#into an actual doc...#for ppl to reference dfhfdh#armored core

today I've seen both my parents independently browsing nadine dorries' wikipedia page trying to work out why she thinks she's owed a peerage
or indeed, what she's literally ever done at all
#yes we know her real reason is bc of her fwendship wiv bowis johnshon#but it's still the polite thing to have some sort of other evidence#earthdeep does life#uk politics#also for some reason despite hearing her name many times over the years my brain refuses to remember her#I keep mixing up her name with diane abbot bc of the rhythm#and when I saw her mugshot on the wiki page I realised I'd mixed her face up with someone totally different too (idek who lol)#I think this woman might be a collective hallucination born from a 00s mockumentary satirising the government

i love how everyone (including me) who enjoys soulcalibur collectively agree that amy sorel is like a daughter to them. It's like she was tailor made to be a tumblr blorbo.
#it probably helps that she's a cute AND a tragic character which like adds so many layers to her#shallow rambles#this poor girl (literally) saves a stranger just to spite the government because he indirectly got a fellow nobleman killed#and in turn he just helps her and teaches her how to fight but is so devestated to find that she's literally an orphan who has to fend for#herself. like of course he feels the need to repay her (by adopting her) and the rest is kinda history#but also she has a hard time opening up but like thats due to trauma and for as well intended raphael is#there is only so much he can do to ensure her happiness but also he makes the dirastic decision to seek out a weapon capable of horrible#destruction like HII THAT WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE!!!#like he's a dad doing his best he's just misguided and it actually bites him in the ass and turns him into the azure knight#aka the BIG villain of the entire series LIKE DUDE. i feel sorry for you but also you fucked around and found out#doomed characters my beloved <3#souledgeposting#to be fair i might have gotten some of that wrong because again NOT having actual access to SCIV and SCV makes it really hard#to like. piece together lore stuff for myself to understand and comprehend.#you can only ever get so much info from the wikis and even then they can miss the nuances that you could take away from the characters#yourself when you experience it/witness it first hand.#but yeah after SCIV raphael becomes nightmare and its crazy man.

That's not how war crimes work. Fukuzawa was not a combatant or within any command structure. War crimes are also instruments of international law— Fukuzawa assassinated only Japanese leaders.
Mori, meanwhile, was committing unusual acts of torture on members of his own unit. He didn't commit any war crimes within the jurisdiction of international law necessarily, assuming he didn't do the same to foreign combatants or civilians, but framing him as a doctor who "served in the military" to contrast his behavior with Fukuzawa's assassinations is narratively dishonest.
(I'm also not sure how any of it is bizarre— Mori was weapons trafficking as an underground doctor, and the Agency is extrajudicial by design.)
Yeah it’s bizarre the Port Mafia is ran by a Doctor, albeit an underground one and the Agency by a former assassin. But I find it so much funnier to recall that Mori served in the military while Fukuzawa was off committing war crimes.
#i know people use the phrase war crimes generically#but this isnt a correct colloquial use of the term either#bsd mori#bsd fukuzawa#bungou stray dogs#bsd#words mean things!#also yall dont use the wikipedia article on war crimes if youre not contextualizing the jurisdictions of the treaties listed there#you're going to confuse yourselves#(im saying this preemptively - not because ive seen this yet)#also the bsd wiki gets details related to ministries and military and civil government matters very wrong#in some cases using terms not in the raws and not interchangeable with the government body from the raws#so revisit the source material where possible

I really hope this reaches more people, I'm only reposting this information from Instagram, the least that I can do. (Update: I changed their upbringing as it appears to have been listed wrong) Wiki page
When I just saw this information I couldn't stop crying thinking about it, and now my heart aches. They were the same age as me, I know for a fact like any other teen they dreamt of their future, who they would want to become, what to achieve, create, wondering if they meet those in the future they can call friends, wondeting if it'll get better when they grow up, maybe wished to leave that terrible place or maybe wanted to stay. How could anyone let this happen, why were they discharged from hospital so easily? And the school, we all know why. I hate to think about how, even with all the progress made, these things still happen.
"murdered schoolgirl Brianna Ghey on February 16, 2023. Candlelit vigils are being held across the UK this week for Brianna Ghey, 16, who was stabbed at Linear Park in Culcheth, Cheshire last Saturday. Brianna was a transgender girl and police are now investigating her killing as a hate crime. A boy and girl, both 15, have been charged with her murder"
An article that explains trans hate crime murders as on 2023
I hate everyone who have ever committed such vile hate crimes, I wish them in prison and hell. But i would never go down to their level. But I also blame the government, the school, and even those bigoted online accounts that teach their followers hate. In this case LibsOfTikTok, who targeted the teacher of this school, who supports lgbtq+, so they had to leave their position. It must have been the push for this to happen. I think their tiktok account has been thankfully deleten. But i have no idea about Twitter or any other. Please check and mass report them if it still exists.
