I have been seeing a concerning few posts floating across my dash recently. I don't really know if I want to reblog them, but I do need to remind everyone that will listen that voting 3rd party in the US Does Not Work right now.

Literally all it does is give Republicans a better chance at winning this election. It scares me to think there are people out there that want to vote 3rd part, when that is not how our current political system works. There is a history of 3rd party voting letting republicans win. You are literally throwing away your vote if you do this this year. You may as well not vote at all this year if you do not vote for Harris/Walz.

If you want a third part to win, you need to pass the info around and campaign for them a lot sooner than a few weeks before elections. At this point it is literally just a tactic to get votes away from Harris. I do not want to see that a 3rd party got 1000's of votes and Trump won by less than that amount of votes. It would make me sick to see that. This is not the change I want to see. The campaigns are too late in the game and it feels like sabotage.

So Please. Vote for the lesser of two evils, or watch as your vote is thrown away for a false feeling of a moral high ground.

daud doesn't get enough credit for how fucking funny his actions in Dishonored 1 are

kills corvo's wife, sends assassins to kill corvo, doesn't show his face till almost the end of the game, puts corvo in a little cage, steals all his stuff, puts him in a barrel?!?, does about 30 seconds of a boss fight before running away, dramatically sends his apprentices away, dramatically lies down against a wall despite barely being injured, goes on a little monologue, leaves 😭

like with knife of dunwall/brigmore witches we find out a lot of stuff happened between Jessamine's death and Corvo arriving the flooded district, and that he's on a path of redemption to try and make things right, but somehow his path of redemption involves being a bit of a dick to corvo every chance he gets

Putting my two cents in that Veilguard is a good game... just not a good Dragon Age game. I used to beg on hand and knee for a remake of origins and 2, but now I think they should maybe just leave them alone...

i think the cut boyfriends line is very sweet and endearing both the line itself and ed’s reaction (ed’s reaction was actually what got me the most he’s so silly) but also i’m ok that it was cut.

when writing shows that are hyper aware of their audiences there’s a fine balance between adding fun fanservice and adding too much fanservice. in general i think s2 was a little too aware of their fans as it was (while also being censored and cut ironically). in reference to the boyfriends line it’s very cute but it wasn’t something we needed clarification on. we the audience know their relationship. though i’m still thankful to samba for sharing it.

tbh lack of choices in datv is a bit disapointing but it was to be expected. i'm just happy that 1. our inquisitor shows up and is customizable and 2. their love interest is one of those choices cause boy if they forced me to have a solavellan default state world i'd go fucking feral

my inky is happy living a domestic life with dadwall okay you solavellans can keep the angsty stuff okay okay (im so worried something's going to happen to them let her be happy ffs) i don't care about solas one bit, i've made my peace with him being such a central character in datv, but i really don't want to have to fake such a special relationship with him because i really have no attachment to him at all

i'm also hoping onto the tinyest bit of hope that hawke still shows up as a surprise motherfuckers we lied AGAIN and the cc screen pops up when we're about to meet them but it's really copium yeah

Hey folks who go "This character wouldn't go for this gender"...

We get it. You're a certain way and so you tend to see the world through your own personalised filter. So do I and everyone else, though. Are we not valid?

And sure, no one is forcing you to consume content that makes you uncomfortable. You can avert your eyes any time, as long as you try to be tactful about it and not hurt anyone.

But just for once I'd like to see a "I'm [a certain way] and I don't hate on people who have it different" post instead. Just like I'm figting my own decades long programming by exposing myself to pretty pictures and stories whenever the two people/characters make sense to me, you might wanna do that with whatever makes you uncomfortable for whatever reason.

You know why? Because you're kinda being just like the people who say these things about your deal. The very people you might've been hurt by your whole life. And I don't feel like you mean to send this sort of signal (I hope you don't).

It doesn't feel nice having to read these comments. It doesn't feel nice having your choice devaluated, for any reason. Maybe consider that the next time you feel like dropping a post.

been going back and forth on edits with an editor and was initially frustrated with the cuts he wanted to make. Eventually I straight up told him "this was my inspiration for the piece. These are the feelings that need to come through" and guess what? He didn't realize that and two more rounds of edits later, we landed on a really awesome piece that made me tear up. Moral of the story: your editor wants to help you make the best story you can . Be open to changes, but also if it seems like your editor doesn't understand the piece, speak up!
