JOSEPH "JOE" RAMIREZ
Born October 5th, 1921, in Nebraska
Died April 8th, 1988 (age 66), in Martinez, California
Joe Ramirez enlisted in September 1942 (age 20) in San Francisco, CA, and he trained with Easy Company at Toccoa. Holding the rank of Private, he served in Normandy, Holland, and Bastogne. He was hospitalized in January 1945, and discharged in July 1945. After the war, he was married for many years, and had children and grandchildren. When he passed away he was buried with his wife, who had passed away 11 years earlier. Further information about him is scarce, but the brief character profile in the Band of Brothers series bible describes him as Mexican-American, and his personality as "sensitive and nervous."

I might be tripping, but it feels like starting from episode 10, the whole look of the show shifts - like the hue turns noticeably cooler, and whatever brightness it had before just fades. It's like the color drains out right along with Robby as he starts to completely come apart.

The thing that bugs me about Ai's plan is also the thing that makes me not trust her as a problem solver.
She knows that May isn't over her first love and, she knows that she (Ai-oon) is May's first love. Ai also knows that Oom was sending her to break up with May. So for her to sit there and say "I'm going to make you happy like you used to be." Thoroughly confuses me. I know it's for the story and it makes sense for the story and it also makes sense for her character who's kind of a martyr.
Neither May nor Ai-oon are dumb. But this plan was never going to work. Mostly because, Ai basically stopped pretending to be Oom early in their relationship. Oonmay have so many unique memories that Ai would have to keep filling Oom in on them for forever (or until Oom gets her memories back) assuming that May does not notice the switch. If it "worked" no one would be able to move on.

#Watched ep 10 to catch up before the last episode tomorrow!!!! Nothing remarkable to say. An okay episode. I like the ss/kk scene.#I'm thinking about the “So this won't end unless I kill him” and Atsushi willingly refraining from landing the punch and killing Akutagawa–#when he had the chance. Do you think they're going to have a moment where Akutagawa asks why Atsushi didn't kill him back then...#And sure Atsushi doesn't kill (as a general rule lol). But this was a life or death situation.#Atsushi literally would have rather died than kill Akutagawa. It's a lot...#Like it's not ambiguous. He had the chance to kill him. He didn't. They're soooooo#I was watching the anime from a new batch release someone very kindly uploaded and it's got song subtitles too...#The ed lyrics are insane. Really brings you back to the s1 ed and the daz/atsu/aku love triangle. Very nostalgic#I never really stopped to consider it because I hate the s5 ed video with burning passion but the song is actually quite good!!!#OH the s/kk scene is so silly and funny I love it...Really feels like Chuuya was just going “oh SHUT UP *shots him*”#Too bad they didn't include Dazai SPEAKING after being shot to the head like in the manga 😂😂#What insanity#That's all I think.#That's all I think. it's been over 2 weeks and this thing (unfortunately) still has a grip on me
#rant in the tags coming so please do scroll away if you enjoyed the finale 🙏#you know how with some things you'll be like 'I had some negativity towards this thing but--#now that it's been some time I feel better towards it'?#my thoughts on the finale have only gotten worse since it released 🥲#being given more time to think on it made me notice more things I had wrong with it#like I really wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt but it is so difficult#when I tried ranking the episodes from best to least favorite#I'd come to realize that I couldn't put either finale episode above the other for the bottom two#they both gave me the same feeling of being doused in ooze 😭#I've written a good handful more thoughts on why I disliked it since the last rundown I had posted#though I'm afraid if talking about this is considered cringe or old news now that it's been a minute since the eps came out lol#I've watched the finale in full two times just to take everything in but I don't think I can do it again anytime soon#I think there's about 8-10 mins of the finale that I genuinely enjoyed#the rest making me want to cry in disappointment or was just 'okay' to me#just gotta 'it is what it is' my way through knowing the show ended like That. we stay silly!#however- writing about it does give me a little bit of relief lol#adventure time#at#fionna and cake#petrigrof#simon petrikov#betty grof#my post#my art

as a bona fide vaxleth lover i am more confused than ever about how they are portrayed on the animated series i'm not gonna lie 😭
#not that different is bad like it doesn't affect or 'ruin' the actual source material#i just legitimately do not understand some of their choices here#there's stuff i really like ofc but u know. i've written multiple long analyses about conflict in their relationship#and in previous seasons it seemed to me like they were just smoothing out those sharp edges which bummed me out ngl#(for one there was a line at the end of s1 where kiki directly contradicted her campaign self in favor of No Conflict that i was feeling#unsatisfied with. and s2 didn't contend with rq as a sticking point for keyleth really at all)#and like to be honest my distaste for that is biased by like fandom drama of years past and people shitting on them for that exact stuff#so for me it kinda felt like an updated and palatable version that appealed to the group of people that made me feel bad for liking them#which is again like a strong personal bias lol but u know it also is just. a really important story to me that i love#but this season it's like they went no no. they do actually need to fight that was a big thing. hmmmm what about#AH YES. let's reverse their povs about their relationship completely.#have not finished ep3 yet but 10 min in i'm just like HUH?#again this doesn't rly matter and the show remains an enjoyable adaptation it's just truly bizzare to me 😭 how did this choice get made#it speaks#lovm spoilers#sorry I'm not done yet actually because the specific conflict about happiness in the present being or not being worth sorrow later#is the VERY CORE OF BOTH OF THOSE CHARACTERS and to switch which one feels which is way more than weird for the romance it's weird for like#what each of their whole individual deal is. that's why i'm so ??????????????#gah. i truly don't want to complain too badly#(and tbh the eps simply don't have enough runtime for vax to be as completely-falling-apart as he actually was and the role of#depression and trauma and self-loathing in that vs like. a more easily telegraphed supernatural boogeyman#-which if they slowed the pace down more might fit in but the scale of the story is so grand that they can't so like i begrudingly get it.#but still absolutely wild for the solution to be: do away with their actual arguments about divinity or keyleth's insecurity about#outliving all of vox machina. oh btw we are giving the vision she had of that to vax as a gift from rq or whatever#so he can be inscure about it instead. because he's fate touched or smthn. and that's too abstract for us to explore here so let's just#give him ominous visions.)#the more i have typed the saltier i have gotten i'm sorry it's just WILD TO MEEEE

Omg…. episodes 11 & 12 The Spoils and Kalends of February is what I`ve been looking for.
I’m not kidding when I say I’m in tears, this episodes were incredible.
#seriously.... what kind of show was this?#even if you didn't know anything about the historic characters#what they did to Atia & Servillia (and in part Octavia & Octavian) is unforgivable#even in the context of this show its crazy#WHY DID THEY NOT THEN INCLUDE FULVIA?!#but then you have episodes like the ones in the beginning and end#ep 5-10 are WTH crazy#but 1-4 & 11 +12 are incredible#I´m not kidding when I say I was in tears during 11#everything about Lucius & Titus is sooo good#you feel for them every step of the way#the ending to 12 was also simply brilliant both in a touching & tragic way#everything with Brutus & Cicero was fantastic#as well as Caesar & Marc Antony#poor Niobe!!!!!!!!!#they were finally so happy together!!!!!!!!!!#the holding hands of Titus & Eirene makes me hope#they had a crazy journey until now and I wish the best for them#also- you know who wrote the best episodes of s1?#Bruno Heller#wth is wrong with the other two guys who wrote the rest#I really really hope s2 ups the writing#rome hbo#things i like#tv shows

I was mostly unconvinced by twitter spec that buck actually/also gets kidnapped but...
a. athena's "maddie" being edited in is definitely interesting and
b. Tim saying "let's just say he's going to feel even more abandoned by the time we get into episode 10" is...very interesting
#the edit could just be that the line is “looks like he took 'her' with him”#but for some reason i thought that line from Tim was that buck would be feeling even more abandoned by the END of ep 10#rather than going into it#911 spoilers#911 spec#and what if it's buck and maddie#because buck was at maddie's house#talking to her abt eddie leaving or something#and buck thinks no one is coming for him#anyway closing ep9 on a buck with abandonment issues at an all time high tied up and left for dead in some basement would just be...#delicious#i am also swayed by the possibility that that edit could be because it's actually jee-yun (or maybe chim??) that gets kidnapped#also looking up tim's interviews i loved this line about buck:#He understands how important that relationship with Christopher is.#I mean his relationship with Christopher is important too#so he wants to be as supportive of that as possible and it will drive him completely insane#drive him completely insane yayyyy#why did my tags get all messed up lmao
