I’m listening to “Rock n Roll is King,” by ELO and it hit me.
Steve and Bucky went straight from swing, big band, and Jazz music to whatever the fuck was happening in 2014 ish. What a shock to the system!!
Who taught them about rock music and Elvis and The Beatles? Who taught them how music changed and shaped the world?
Funny how so many fics and even the MCU itself had things like “Star Wars” and the internet. But what about everything in between? So many culturally significant things happened in that 70 odd years and Star Wars was the best they could do?
I mean I get that the MCU wanted to just quickly throw in stuff for the whole “man out of time thing” without actually dealing with it properly or how it would have affected him mentally.
But when he first meets up with the soon to be Avengers and he hears AC/DC?
Or music in shops or cafes. Sitting and sketching a new modern skyline and he can’t help but listen to some lyrics and it’s rap music or hard rock and he’s like “what did they just say???”

My greatest regret in life is watching the Avengers movies late in life. Now I'm about 8 years too late to defend Team Cap in civil war and I have to filter through all the anti-team cap propaganda and irondad fanfic whenever I want to read marvel fanfic.

Headcanon that isn’t particularly mine nor particularly a headcanon really:
Most of the characters having a crush on Captain America at some point, but when they get to know Steve Rogers…
They have a bigger and more real crush on him.
Because he is actually funny? And not only nice but good and not the embodiment of “virtue”? He curses and gets angry, is sassy and a lil shit.
A great artist too, like damn.
He isn’t what they thought Captain America was supposed to be, because that persona doesn’t really exist, he’s just a really good guy with a lot of issues too, like any other normal person, but at the same time really caring and understanding guy who is loyal to a fault.
(He isn’t the judgmental man from the 40’s they thought he was. He isn’t only nice because thats what he is supposed to be. He isn’t just propaganda personified).
Most of them would love to have known Steve when he was a tiny ball of anger who punched bullies, even when he was the only one losing every single time.
He’s just really charming and they don’t understand how he’s still fighting and wanting to make the world a better place when he already lost everything, more than once.
And that makes them want to better themselves too.
Of course Steve doesn’t see this and doesn’t understand why everyone wants to talk to him or wants to listen to him outside of missions. He’s just a guy from the forties that’s is too overwhelmed to process everything all at once.

Avengers Assemble season 2 episode 4: Ghosts of the Past!
I’m not gonna go into a deep dive of the episode, but basically it’s the return of the Winter Soldier (Bucky), featuring Steve’s guilt, Tony’s cringy dad humor, all the Superhusband vibes of them totally being Falcon’s dads (I love love LOVE the idea of AA!Tony being “Dad” and AA!Steve being “Pops” beeecaaauuseee.. y e s)
Anyways, have some random memes/whatever this format is even called of screenshots of the episode, with no context because I am silly :D

So, I was in my little depressed state/mood over the weekend when I remembered this TikTok trend where the person would buy a thing of chapstick and when it finished, they would k$ll themselves.
I wasn’t thinking about anything like that (su$c$de or anything related to it), but I did want to get out of that state of mind, so I tried to think of something else.
In the midst of me doing that, I started laughing because one of the ways I try to get out of that mindset is I try to incorporate it into my characters for fanfic, so I started thinking of funny incidents as to how that would happen (specifically to Tony Stark because I love Stony); I thought of sad yet funny scenarios where Tony is trying to commit, but NOTHING is going his way when it comes down to it - he plans on jumping off a bridge and they’re doing construction or something so he can’t, he wants to do the chapstick trend but because of his careless self he lost it, he went in the line of fire during a mission as he was ready to d$e and it ended at that moment because one of his team members took the bad guy down, and so on - until him and Steve get together. So, all in all, the moral of the story is to not let one terrible moment(s) (or a few) of depression stop you from meeting the love of your life!

I think a core memory of mine was when I was 13 and reading a Marvel fic. The tags and the description had me thinking, 'Tony looks at Steve's sketch book and realizes Steve is gay.' Great premise, right. Wrong. That is not what happened because the drawing was of a little girl, and Steve was a pedophile.

if you have any ideas (plot, trope, kink, thots, etc.), then please send them my way and i’ll include them in the following polls!

Chapter Two of Red Collar Blue Collar!
In a world where indentured servitude never went away in the States, people are collared until they pay off their debts. Blue collars for debt that can be paid within their lifetime, and red for debt so high it can never be paid.
When he’s fifteen, Steve’s mother dies of cancer, leaving him with a pile of medical debt on top of what they already owed for his own illnesses. He is red collared immediately and his contract sold. Ten years later, Obadiah Stane buys him to try to curtail the antics of the irresponsible and flighty Tony Stark.
