When I watched The Batman, I watched it with my parents and I was like. "very good movie, I like how it wasnt sexy" and they were like "wtf do you mean, they were literally iin like... a sex club. Batman was shirtless. They smooched" but I stand by what I said. It wasnt sexy. I did forgor that Patinson was shirtless for a scene but the club was suitably uncomfortable in its portrayal. Selina didnt pose and lavish in attention, it was clearly a performance and one that she didnt enjoy. Very not sexy. andthe shirtlesss detective boy was like a wet cat. He wasnt posing or flexing, he could have ahad a shirt on and the scene would not have been markedly different for me. It reminded me of the guy in Elementary who did math shirtless because it let him feel the numbers and helped him do math good. Honestly shirts suck and being shirtless is comfy, its not neccesaroly sexy. The smooch I didnt like tho, thats true. it felt forced. Like clearly smthn that was just in there bc as a movie made in 2024 there must be smooches, even if there wasnt chemistry or any sort of relationship building. Like... I liked their vibe as a team and I could see how the partnership might evolve, but they were not romantic or even sexual in any way and the smooch was bad. I havent looked up any reviews to see if other ppl think this way but I dont want to do real work and I like ur blog so I thought I'd share my thoughts

Agreed that the lack of sexualization for both parties brings a refreshing change! Bruce and Selina, characters sexualized in very specific, but fateful ways, are portrayed almost perfectly in the Batman. They’re not Being, they’re Performing.

However, I can understand why your parents mean as well! Romance and sexuality, I feel, are such diverse and fluctuating mediums that can be interpreted a hundred different ways, and mean even more.

For you and I, — nudity isn’t sexual specific. But hey — maybe someone else thinks differently, so the opinion of the shirtless scene being sexy isn’t wrong — at least not totally. I find it sexy because I find Bruce hot. But it’ll be different for everyone

Episode 7 predictions since it’s 2024

1. N and Uzi kiss scene

This one’s pretty simple, I really want to see them kiss, you want to see them kiss, everyone wants to see them kiss

2. Nori and Yeva flashback scene

I really do think that teaser that Glitch posted is a flashback with Nori and Yeva trying to find the cure too, it would make sense for them too especially with their connection to the Absolute Solver and the camp

The theories are nice but I don’t think that Nori and Yeva would just show up out of the blue randomly especially when they’re supposed to be dead, it made sort of sense with Doll but doesn’t make sense with those two cause why the hell did it take that long to come back, just seems like a flashback to me, also this would be good for some content on what not only were they like but also hopefully mention of Khan and Uzi from Nori’s mouth cause we still have no idea if Nori is even a good guy

3. Separation

It seems like from the trailer that N, Uzi and Tessa are going to be seperated. This would be good for some good sweet character development and how they handle things alone, Tessa might be looking at the dorms? Lockers? Idk what they are but of the patients especially Nori’s and hers might have something deeply puzzling Tessa because she full on slammed the door lol

4. Nuzi confession scene

Should’ve probably put this in first but I’m HOPING that N and Uzi confess their feelings, especially with the fact that they might die I’d be happy if they at least confessed before Episode 8 (the last episode) so we can see them being happy with each other before the angst

5. N shirtless

6. More Tessa scenes

I know girlie is really suspicious at the moment and I absolutely despise her for the whole kill Uzi thing but I actually really like Tessa she’s so quirky and so unaware of things it’s kinda funny

Even V, I don’t want her to be in the episode but I think that she’s gotten at least 5 pieces of merch? Can’t really tell but I hope that J fans do get that plushie

I hope they make more keychains and stickers too, posters would be nice as well or even mats. Just some new pieces of merch instead of plushies, pins and Animatez (as much as I love them, I do hope that’s not all of it)

The Plot

The first 10%: Hardin spent a year getting drunk in his apartment and not writing the sequel to After. His agent isn't helping, instead she drags him to a club where she and her girlfriend...?... ("You look amazing." - "I went vegan.") make out in front of him and grind up on him.

The middle 85%: Hardin goes to Portugal, has some revelations and makes amends. Of sorts

The last 5%: Despite Tessa telling Hardin multiple times via text not to contact her, and despite them not having seen each other for TWO YEARS after their breakup, after dancing with each other at a wedding and then fucking backstage, Hardin proposes to Tessa and she says yes. After that there's a flash-forward to Hardin coming home from work to a lil kid and a pregnant Tessa. (Because apparently she can have kids now??)

The Sex

On the plane to Portugal, Hardin orders one whisky after another. The flight attendant tells him that if he needs anything, he can press the button. "I'm pretty sure the button is for emergencies, not a handjob on the plane" [cut to Hardin and the attendee fucking in the most spacious plane toilet known to man] "I was JOKING" - it was a dream tho

In the middle of the fifth film about Hardin and Tessa (in which Tessa hardly features at all) we get a flashback to five years before where Hardin fucked a girl called Natalie, filmed it, and sent it to his friend, as it was a bet. It's an obvious parallel to his first time with Tessa, and it also cost Natalie her scholarship, uni application, and support group, and forced her to move to another country. Why is this filed under "sex", you may ask? Well, because he puts up the camera after some snogging, and penetrates her when the camera is at 30 seconds. 🙄 Also he buys Natalie a house before he leaves Portugal, so they're good, right?

The third sex scene occurs shortly before the end. After waltzing with their arms the wrong way round for a while, and Tessa having a breakdown in front of a mirror (?), they fuck on a chest of drawers or something?, and at no point address how Tessa's impractically long and tight skirt was moved during this.

Again, no oral sex in this one.

The Twilight parallels

The wedding - which occurs once at the beginning, as a dream/fantasy, and then for real at the end (it's Landon and Nora's wedding btw) - looks like the one in Twilight, only in autumn.

Hardin goes cliff diving in Portugal, encouraged to do so by a bunch of dudes who spend too much time at the gym and not enough buying t-shirts.

Okay so I watched these two One Piece movies over the past couple of nights and the different experiences that I have gone through with both of these movies... First of all... I had A LOT of fun watching both of them (tbh more fun than when I watched the One Piece: Red) and I want to watch it again just from recalling it. I won't go super in depth, this is just me going on a tangent about em.

One Piece Gold (left) was a lot of fun, I loved the premise where they entered this huge ass island/boat city of gold filled with entertainment and casinos (I'm like "ohhh they're on the strip! LOL). I liked the build up of the plot and backstory of the villain. Tbh I think this movie did a way better job at building up the villain in comparison to One Piece Red where it just... IMMEDIATELY went into action??? I enjoy being able to immerse myself in the specific plot and feel of a movie, and so I think this movie did better in that aspect. ALSO, THERE WERE SO MANY OUTFIT CHANGES IN THIS MOVIE!!! It's so cute that for a number of them, they're all matching??? Also... um... Zoro in the beginning of the movie where he just had the baseball cap and he's shirtless... uhhhhh he looked so good wtf... wished they had him in that for longer LOL I also thought Luffy looked SO CUTE in the all white outfit with the orange shades and cowboy hat. Really enjoyed the Sabo appearance in this, tho wished I saw him crush a guy's head!! LOOOL Anyway, really liked this movie.

One Piece movie 6: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island is what I watched last night after holding it off since FOREVER AND TBH I DON'T THINK I'LL LIKE A ONE PIECE MOVIE MORE THAN THIS ONE LOOOL. So the main reason why I wanted to watch this movie was primarily because of the ART STYLE. I LOVE HOW CUTE AND EXAGGERATED IT IS. The flat colors, lanky limbs, thin lines, angles, and expressiveness UGH EVERYTHING. I kept wondering why it felt so familiar and it's because the director of this movie is Mamoru Hosoda! And he directed movies like Mirai (my Goro projection movie), Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Wolf Children (I watched this movie when I was in a 3 hour life drawing class and was bawling), etc. ANYWAY-- his influence was STRONG in this movie because the thing I like about his style is the human INTERACTIONS he has between the characters and showing the closeness, with their touches, or expression, and even utilizing the awkward silences in the conversations. It was SO nice seeing the Straw Hats interact in this kind of way and I am just IN LOVE WITH HOW LUFFY LOOKED IN THIS MOVIE HE WAS SO CUTE I LOVE HIM!!! I also love how when Nami wanted Luffy's attention, she would just GRAB HIS FACE. So anyway, as I was looking more into who was involved in this movie, I saw that Masahiro Ito did the screenplay. I had to do a double take on that name. BITCH. OF COURSE HIS NAME WAS FAMILIAR BECAUSE THAT MAN IS THE ART DIRECTOR FOR TEAM SILENT? MR PYRAMID HEAD CREATOR MAN HIMSELF. WHAT IS HE DOING WRITING THE SCREENPLAY FOR THIS ONE PIECE MOVIE. The whole time I'm just thinking "Oh my god. This movie is going to get REALLY weird." And my god... for One Piece/shounen standards... yeah. There are scenes where I had to turn around to Hun while I was watching and go "... You seeing this." LOL LIKE... I KNOW THIS MOVIE WILL NOT BE EVERYONE'S CUP OF TEA BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT??? It was like watching the weirdest collab One Piece fanfiction come to life. I just really appreciate the direction and vibe this movie had and seeing One Piece in this kind of style. Honestly would love if other anime directors wanted to take their own spin of One Piece and just make a movie. Yah well that's my tangent, I love One Piece LOL

The Eighth Sense Thoughts

okay so when i watch dramas i always write notes about how i felt after watching an episode, just to like look back on but like they’re actually funny so i wanted to post some on here to share.

since the eighth sense just ended, here are my thoughts while watching the eighth sense. it’s kind of random but if you’ve seen it it’ll probably make sense. don’t take this seriously bc i just word vomit on all of these lmao and the dashes in between indicate a new episode.

blueming vibes idk it's university set - bro she built differenttt. the vibes are so different compared to other korean bl's. it's kind of like itsay a bit? but like with better characters and a better story so far. i like jihyun too, his friend tho is so annoying like always bugging him about going out and joining the surf club, like bro he's a country boy in a new city and school, he wants to try new things stfu (it's also an excuse to see the cute guy he met but shhh) - tell me how jaewon's ex has the audacity to be annoyed at jihyun. she's just mad bc jaewon is giving him so much attention and hanging out with him and being close to him, girl did you expect jaewon too come crawling back to you even tho you're the reason why you guys broke up? he was in the military so he definitely didn't do anything to and everyone's saying that she cheated on him so who you think we gon believe? you fucked up ur relationship yourself and you're salty that he don't want you anymore. you're mad that he's content and doesn't think about you anymore, that he found someone else to take care of and be around. stay mad roach lmao - i love this so far omggg. jihyun keeps reminding me of cha junho btw. but like jihyun and jaewon like each other so muchhhh. like it's so natural, the way they constantly find each other and just abruptly hang out. they LITCHRALLY went on a date to the han river. tell me that wasn't a date. and i am living for jaewon's attitude towards his ex. he really couldn't give any less of a fuck about her and she over here embarrassing herself. she acts like she don't care but then she'll squeal to her friends that he went surfing bc of her and asked to partner with her for an assignment, delusional ass bitch lmao. she gets so pissed whenever jaewon is with jihyun, it's funny watching her be jealous. you wish that was you huh? and like jaewon and jihyun are just going with the flow with each other. the touches, the gentle hang holding, asking about dating, how jihyun always makes jaewon smile just by existing. HE THINKS HE'LL HURT JIHYUN SOMEHOW - IT GOT A GOOD ENDING THANK GOD I REALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE GASLIGHTING US IN THE LAST EPISODE BC THEY WERE GETTING ALONG AND BEING SO CUTE, JAEWON SAYING CLEARLY THAT THEY WERE DATING, EVERYTHING JUST CAME TOGETHER PERFECTLY AT THE END I REALLY WAS EXPECTING ONE OF THEM TO DIE OR SOMETHING. them kissing scenes thooooo. and joonpyo and yoonwon got together. but fr like jihyun sent jaewon that conan gray song and that's all it took for him to finally realize he needed to be with jihyun and that man came runnin. but he's such a cute boyfriend, we stan. and even until the very end his annoying ex was trying to get with him, literally like kissing him in front of jihyun and everything. jaewon said no no i don't play that hetero shit no more. SHE HAD THE NERVE TO TRY TO LIE TO HIM ABOUT CHEATING ON HIM UNTIL HE TOLD HER HE LITERALLY SAW HER GO INTO A MOTEL WITH A GUY AND GO ON A BREAKFAST DATE THE NEXT MORNING. The first character I first fell in love with: Gintoki. i've loved him even before i watched gintama (that blorbo in law situation) it was of course partly sharing a friend's enthusiasm but also his design. now that i know his whole character it just makes me fall even more... and these are why:

his dead fish eye. his lack of energy. his sweet tooth. the one arm sticking out of his yukata bcs he thinks it's cool (he insists its just so he could grab his wooden sword faster). the way he rarely refuses to help people even if he acts annoyed about it.

he's kind of like reigen in many ways (28 year old freelancer - albeit questionable job - and bad older brother figures for some middle schoolers)

he's a gag character but sometimes he also acts as a straight man. i think he believes himself to be the sanest person when compared to his childhood friends (which. honestly doesn't say much). also im weak for characters voiced by mr Sugita

oh yeah have i mentioned his design. of course his main outfit is really cool but i love the ones we sometimes see him in. like his winter clothes, the ryokan uniform, shiroyasha, white blood king, that one time he switched job to a truck driver, his host suit, enmi... so many. he also crossdressed several times and slayed the look. despite wanting to have him in my bed someday im actually not that crazy over shirtless gintoki (except for his pink strawberry boxer shorts). the rule is the more layers of fabric he puts on, the more in love i am

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: tbh Takasugi.. he's Gintoki's childhood friend but after what happened 10 years ago their relationship seems mostly hateful on the outside, but they actually treasure the other very much as a friend. when he first appeared he was introduced as an antagonist, probably the main one for the whole series, and it was kinda meh because at that point i was watching gintama for the comedy. but after watching the flashback of their time together it hurts just thinking about them. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: see this is hard cos im not really deep in the fandom buuuut if i have to choose its shinpachi... its not that i dont like him, I just care for him the least...... he's good when paired with other characters (with gintoki & kagura or with his sister) but when he's by himself he's not that interesting. and i get it he's supposed to not be interesting. it's a whole joke that shinpachi is the most boring character. idk sorry shinpachi i hope they give you some new trait in the ginpachi spin-off

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Kintoki, maybe? he was a robot created per Shinpachi & Kagura's request because their current boss (Gintoki), who was nowhere to be found (probably drinking), is very irresponsible. so Kintoki is the polar opposite of Gintoki, created to be perfect in the ways gintoki couldn't. i used to really love him because of his charisma (took a bunch of screenshots & collected fanart of him) but after his arc ended i kinda forgot about him lmao. im chill about him now

A pairing that I love: hijikata/gintoki!! i think they have a nice dynamic. unlike gintoki, hijikata is a very strict person. everytime they meet they always fight, but they understand each other and do well when fighting together. both of them insists they're not friends but when gintoki left town hijikata said "I'm gonna look for him." how do you expect me to not go insane.

ginsachi is also up there, and tbh if gintoki said he'd marry me after our first meeting I'd react like sacchan did. sacchan is a creep but i support girls wrong etc. it's a shame they dont really have many episodes together after that except when it's another harem episode :/

A pairing that I despise: GINTOKI/KYUUBEI. im glad there isnt actually many fancontent of them but my god do i despise it. i hate that kyuubei has sooo much potential as a non-binary character but became a part of gintoki's harem. like. i cannot see in kyuubei the same character that appeared in their debut arc. i know them starting to embrace their feminine side is an important trait but at this point it feels like they're turned into a girl just because. i know it sounds like im just talking about kyuubei im just really pissed lmao. it also doesnt make any sense to me how they would even have feelings for gintoki :(

ive been rewatching lotr (i dont know, your renn faire fic got me in the mood for fantasy nerdery lol) and i remembered how i was about... 12 when the last film came out? and i definitely was ogling frodo when he had that shirtless scene when he was tied up lmaoooo

everyone was after aragorn but i was too young for such ruggedness haha. i realised also that finn reminds me so much of frodo in that film? the pale/dark colouring and the intense eyes. maybe everything truly does lead back to those formative childhood crushes!

-i love aot, i'm tearing up :') top-notch story, top-notch animation throughout.

-aot only benefits from rewatches. they only add to the greatness

-you know. pre-time skip!eren would never in a million years have responded to falco by asking if the candidate that he doesn't want to see become a warrior is a girl. his mind just wasn't working that way- romantically. another clue that now romance is part of his life (or unrequited love. or whatever he has going on with mikasa, idk)

-aot has SUCH good music

-"declaration of war" is SO. GOOD.

-L I S T E N tho, when warhammer titan asks for eren's last words and he says "now, mikasa"... TECHNICALLY this applies to what his actual last words could have been had he spoken them.

-i wonder. if eren knows the future, is there any point when he's genuinely afraid for his life? isn't it a given that he'll live to do the rumbling? his surprised reactions when attacked must be just that, the instinctual reaction of surprise and the fear of pain, right? not fear for his life. i'd say, and that's totally a theory, that in marley he is actually worried, because he's only just starting to go on the offensive. but he makes it out, gets even more jaded and settled in his plan, and by the time pieck threatens him at gunpoint, he's seasoned enough to know she won't kill him. and then gabi does -technically- kill him, which he didn't foresee at all.

-i mean, eren's not lying to gabi, he actually thinks he can save falco by luring out pieck and co. avoiding an altercation would mean no scream, which would mean safe falco and a successfully incomplete rumbling, which would also mean a safe falco.

-i've been thinking, eren didn't expect marley to attack so soon. it wasn't part of the plan. so what was the plan? eren's plan for paradis didn't involve violence. shiganshina was evacuated, and arguably no one within the other walls would have to die - arguably they would have been held back by the yeagerists, had they not had to rush to shiganshina to fight. eren's going along with the wine plan was a safe option, because zeke was never supposed to scream in the first place; there weren't supposed to be titans and marleyans to fight, just a passage to shiganshina on the appointed time. no one on paradis was supposed to get hurt, or if they had to, the casualties were supposed to be minimal. this chaos and disaster was never the plan. "sit tight, shut up and wait until the gang stops me," basically.

-the satisfaction i get every time, when yelena tells titan eren to come out and not fight and he ignores her. so much satisfaction.

-i love how everyone in the main cast has so distinctive personalities. they’re not archetypes, they’re just distinctive people

-the last-ish shot of eren screaming in the op with his hair getting loose still lives rent-free in my head. it's so raw.

-i just find it interesting how eren is struggling so much (reiner is straddling him at the moment), and he still gasps and tells zeke to wait when he's about to scream, he still protects his people (or tries to). he's not unfeeling or indifferent, nor careless.

-("brothers" ep) i'm like "it's okay, you know what happens, you've watched it happen, aot can't hurt you anymore,” but this.fucking.hurts! i suffer!

-HOW DID I JUST NOTICE THAT EREN SEES MIKASA AND ARMIN FROM SCHOOL CASTES IN THE PATHS

Yup, there are some flashbacks, that's why I said "little to no flashbacks". What I mainly meant by that was that fmab doesn't flashback to a scene from an earlier episode six times every episode when something important is talked about (like naruto or mha). I appreciate it bc it feels like the show gives the audience more credit in believing we can remember and follow what's happening without needing constant flashbacks to help us.

I'm not finished with fmab– I'm in the 40s currently– but every time I've seen ed shirtless so far, there's been no chiseled six pack? You look at pictures of like. natsu dragneel from fairy tail (or literally any main guy character from ft) and then compare to ed, and there's a huge difference

ed's garish red coat may not be fashionable, but it is practical. It's a coat. Having an extra layer of clothing will always be helpful. What I meant by saying they all dress practically is, look at pictures of Ajeel (not to be mistaken for Gajeel) from fairy tail. Or erza's heaven's wheel armor. Impractical. All the vital areas of your body are exposed. All your organs are unprotected. Then compare to Ed, or almost anyone else who fights in fmab, and wow! Fully clothed! One more thing protecting your insides!

Yup, winry wears a miniskirt, and that's fine, what I meant is like. I.e. when she's wearing the miniskirt there's never any upskirt shots. She never falls or lands with her butt on a male characters face. No one ever comments about her panties. There's no needless fanservice or sexual dithering that makes the audience uncomfortable

I guess the first episode could be considered filler? It's the first episode tho so I always kinda exclude those, bc it's the first episode, you're trying to set up and establish everything about your story, cut em some slack and whatnot. Plus, it introduces a lot of vital plot things- Kimblee, and (SPOILERS) Isaac, I think his name was?, hinting about the military's corruption and the country-wide transmutation circle. Not really what typically happens in a filler, which is unrelated shenanigans, but it is a pretty subjective topic.

Just wanted to explain some so maybe what I'm trying to say makes a little more sense lol. Everyone interprets things differently, so what I'm trying to convey might get lost in translation

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood breaks so many shounen stereotypes and I'm shook tbh. There're little to no flashbacks. There's no filler episodes. Almost none of the female characters are sexualized. All of the main characters, male and female, dress practically. The male mc doesn't have a six-pack. There isn't a beach/pool episode. The mc, Ed, breaks an entire plethora of mc-specific tropes all on his own. The relationship with the most primary focus isn't romantic, but familial. And there's probably a bunch more I haven't recognized yet.

okay i had a cookie and watched the deleted scenes and now i can have thoughts. first of all:

for those of you without the benefit of the cheaply packaged blu-rays, one of the deleted scenes was a flashback to young pike and alora and the episode is sooooo much better without it

apparently they spent a total of 3 minutes together in a starfleet shuttle (that she had for don’t-worry-about-it reasons), she used a ton of english idioms a non-federation alien would have no reason to know, they flirted for 45 seconds of peril, and THAT’S IT

the story was so layered and good! there was a lot of intricate stuff happening culturally and interpersonally (the guy playing the kid’s father brought so much nuance to it!) and i really enjoyed the twists!

but like the knowledge that THE KID IS STILL THERE SUFFERING while we’re all warping around seeking out new civilizations for the next few seasons is gonna stick with me

(side thought: maybe the federation should go look in on that wasteland colony of people who self exiled? they might appreciate some help in exchange for medical knowledge)

the weakest part of the episode for me is specifically the line where alora says “we don’t know why our founders set it up this way”

it just felt like a writing shrug when one line could’ve served both the world-building and social commentary. WHY is the orphan crushing machine there!!! or even, why did the founders tell you it was there!

by the way, the OTHER deleted scene was an extended breakup moment for alora and pike, also made so much better by the final editing choice to just have him beam out mid-sentence instead
