I was going to reblog some of your posts because I wanted to discuss your takes on Mystra, but then I found out you're a Christian conservative who hates gay people.

No gay person thinks their sexual orientation is their identity, but it's absolutely PART of their identity, just as being straight is part of yours. You can claim otherwise, but it determines who you might love and marry and that person will one day become a part of you and your identity. It's inevitable. As a wife and mother of three, you should know that better than anyone.

But people from groups like yours shame gay people for exploring that part of themselves and that's why Pride Month exists. Pride isn't "propaganda". It's about marginalized people showing the world they exist and they're not ashamed of it. Parades are also a great way for gay people to meet each other. My bestie met her wife at a march 15 years ago and they've been together ever since. It's beautiful. They have two happy, gorgeous children who wouldn't exist without Pride, because their moms never would've met.

Pride also raises money to help gay teens who've been cast out of their homes and gay refugees who've had to flee their country because being gay is illegal there. It also provides support for gay people who need medical help, therapy for abuse, suicide prevention and more. It's a safe space for people who are often discriminated against and even KILLED just for being who they are. So sorry that seems to bother you.

She orchestrated Elminster's rape, made sure he had kids and never told him about them. She turned Volo into an anchor without his knowledge. She tortured a peasant because he refused to sleep with her, then killed his wife and punished him for crying about it. And don't even get me started on the "daughters" she created. The third Mystra (who has Mystra and Mystryl's memories) is cruel to Gale as well and the game gives so much context for that. Plus ALL the companions agree she's unreasonable and tell Gale to reject her, and if he does it leads to one of his most satisfying endings. He's happy, he's a teacher, he marries tav and everyone approves. Your way of playing isn't the only right way and people aren't wrong for criticizing Mystra. There's plenty about her that deserves to be criticized, as is the case with every god in the pantheon.

Oh I ADORE the idea of a Bumble/Star Flower dynamic. I always imagine Star Flower to have this sweet and soft exterior to her that allows her to manipulate Clear Sky, but is in actuality a cold, solemn, purpose-minded cat who takes no shit. What I like a lot about them is that they're so different, yet so alike. They're both victims of their canon's misogyny, in opposite ways. It killed Bumble and prevented Star Flower from being what she could fully be.

In BB, Star Flower was the high priestess of One Eye, in one way, a daughter in others. He was violent and controlling. She was charming and capable. She did exactly what he wanted from her, and she enjoyed being his devotee. They loved each other like a parent and child, and for him, she would stay blind to the pain in the world.

Because she KNOWS that what she does hurts and kills people. Clear Sky isn't the first cat she's skilfully bled out slowly. But when her God is involved, this is not a terrified, screaming person on an altar. It's meat to be prepared for her beloved father.

And as long as she has One Eye to serve, she doesn't have to think about the humanity that is part of her new form. In a way, she's the same extinct medicinal flowers she used to be, before she took a shape as a mortal. She's his treatment. His bouquet. The flowers at a funeral.

And that's a kind of toxic dynamic, too, yknow. To love someone who merely offers you the simplicity of being their butcher.

How could she ever have prepared for his DEATH? To be SEPARATED from him? She is like an angel separated from her lord, whose one purpose has been destroyed.

And then she seduces Clear Sky, the treacherous beast who betrayed them. She'll bleed him like a goat, and be reunited with her father. And even more--

When she speaks to Bumble for the first times, Star Flower is still threatening betrayals. Insisting, chuckling, that she's done Terrible Things and will do them again.

And Bumbs clocks immediately, "You're doing that to get a rise out of me and it won't work because no one would tease their secret evil scheme."

Bumble is going through a lot right now, actually. Thunderstar is getting good at speaking Parkmew on his own, now. Sparrow Heart, her daughter, betrayed her to join SkyClan in the pursuit of power. Her son Pebble Heart goes by Owl Eyes these days, and he's a big strong warrior who doesn't need her. It seems like no one needs her.

She talks a big game about her self-worth, but a lot of it is bluster and self-assurance. She'll insist she's the BEST AND COOLEST CAT THIS SIDE OF THE EVERYWHERE but she's hiding a LOT of guilt, none of it deserved.

I feel like Star Flower is fascinated by this. The dishonesty here. How Bumble presents herself as boisterous and over-confident, but hides a great sadness within it.

For Bumble to Star Flower... she's brand new, an outsider just like she was once. A very strange one with strange humor, who exists at a time when her life is undergoing a lot of changes. She likes the way Star Flower is so interested in her. She enjoys showing her around the territory.

God, sometimes it just... it reminds her of Turtle Heart, you know? Before Tom came. When it was just them, and they were young and they were learning all these wonderful things together.

It never got better, really, losing her lover and her best friend. She's just been GO GO GOing for years, GO out of this Clan, GO get your kittens, GO open negotiations. It wasn't until NOW that she's really had time to process the loss of Turtle Heart.

And that's sort of where they are, now. There's not really an end in sight, they're just very involved and interested in each other. Not quite courting, but not NOT courting either. Sappho and her acquaintance lmao.

candy pop is the optimistic foil to jason. while they've both been through hell and back, jason internalised his bitterness. he's resentful and believes he's incapable of change—not that he wants to admit he's flawed in the first place. on the other hand, candy pop seeks out the good in the world. he's patient, even if NT makes it difficult for him to be, and he advocates for change, pushing jason to be a better man.

their bond started from a deal, but eventually sprouted into a genuine friendship. platonic love. jason hadn't experienced that before. at least not to its truest extent. when he looked at candy pop, he didn't see amelia in him at all. so why did he love him if that wasn't the case?

in any universe where they fall in love, both of them will deny their feelings. but this post isn't abt their tortuously long slowburn, so all i have to say is candy pop's the first person jason had SINCERELY loved. candy pop wanted jason to love him because of that serious hard-to-get personality of his. and it was fun and jokes at first, then it turned into something more.

they're codependent—mostly jason, because again he never loved someone as much as he loves candy pop and he can't bear the thought of losing him. jason is also used to getting his way in relationships. he's manipulative even if he doesn't intend to be. (not that it cancels it out.)

jason is possessive. (in past relationships, he was mostly the one who showed "affection" via gifts and flattery. he did this to keep his chosen ones at bay. so him being on the receiving end means he'll become overly attached.) he hates when candy pop is gone for too long. he hates when candy pop hangs out with other people. he hates knowing candy pop has the OPTION to hang out with other people in the first place. he tries so hard to seize control of candy pop's relationships, but it doesn't work.

candy pop isn't stupid. candy pop knows how to see through his tactics after being with him for decades. this leads to confrontations, then disagreements. but because jason genuinely loves candy pop, he starts putting in effort to change. he's confused when he doesn't argue back against candy pop, but instead takes his words into consideration, without devaluing them. jason has to get used to this. another reason why they're so compatible for each other is that candy pop understands how difficult it is for jason to change his ways. both of them are flawed.

they both go through hella separation anxiety because of their abandonment issues. candy pop leaves for hunts, or to check in on NT's children. it drives jason insane and the first time candy pop left for longer than he expected, he ended up rearranging his entire flat. meanwhile the only time jason is gone is when jason is at work. candy pop does have a problem with clinginess (like obviously he's clingy even when they're not dating), but he doesn't TRY to lose his mind over it. he'll be pacing around, fidgeting with his hair, doing anything to keep his hands occupied. when he's not going through mood switches, he's relatively calm about it. which i think makes sense because he was in a loving and healthy relationship with april fools so he has enough knowledge to know how relationships work. but then when he has intense mood switches it gets all like DO NOT LEAVE ME or WHY DO YOU STAY YOU SHOULD JUST LEAVE ME or I SHOULD KILL MYSELF SO YOU CAN FIND SOMEONE BETTER (EXAGGERATING)

but jason would recognise his episodes. candy pop doesn't willingly act like this. jason's there to help him calm down. even if it means sitting next to him in silence, reassuring him that he's there.

you obviously cannot have a relationship between a man with anger issues and a man with mood issues and not have them both lash out at each other at some point IT DEFINITELY FUCKING HAPPENS and when it does it'll be jason who feels bad because he doesn't want to lose candy pop so he "apologises" for it (he never once uses the word sorry) with a gift or something and candy pop accepts. if jason ever uses the word sorry i imagine it'd be like "i'm sorry you took it that way."

if it's ever candy pop apologising (and he does use the word sorry) i'd imagine jason forgives him and then gets an ego boost afterwards... but like later on this dynamic would change the more candy pop asks for clarity and the more jason realises "no way i actually feel terrible for treating the love of my life that way?" YES IDIOT if you LOVE soMEONE YOU WANT TO TREAT THEM WELL.

i view jason as someone who loves to have control. but as much he loves control, he loves candy pop even more. and he NEEDS candy pop to love him back. he needs to be loved so bad he'll do anything for him. he's so scared of being abandoned. it gets to a point where he's willing to fuck up his life just so that candy pop doesn't leave him—but candy pop would never do anything to hurt jason. candy pop's always telling jason that he's not broken, and that he doesn't need candy pop to fix him. but jason won't come to terms with that. his parents hammered it into his brain that he's broken, and he believes wholeheartedly that candy pop is as broken as him. and that they can fix each other.

(i've had a scene in my head where one day, candy pop breaks down and says "you were right, i am broken" and. deep down, he wants jason to refute that claim. he wants jason to reassure HIM now that he isn't broken. but all jason says is, "it's okay. we can fix each other." and now candy pop's sobbing harder, unsure if he's comforted or horrified. but hey. if they're broken, at least they're broken together!!!)

candy pop has self doubt issues. he often goes through episodes where he believes jason will leave him, because he can't offer more to him. at times, candy pop is avoidant, too, believing jason doesn't love him as anything more than a tool. (NT gave him the ideology that he's really only a sexual object and nothing else.) jason tells him that's not the case, and that candy pop himself is enough. and when jason's going through the same thing—his is more on the "i'm worthless" end—candy pop makes all his strengths apparent.

What would things even look like if Dabi fell in love? I don’t want to sound cheesy but I mean…his whole life for years now has been pushing for revenge. Getting back at his father, going out in a literal blaze of glory. He doesn’t seem to expect to survive past that point. And why would he want to?

But then you come along. He feels things he’s never felt before. For the first time, he sees a future for himself. A future with you.

That would have to shake things up quite a bit right?

Despite from my personal opinions, I’ll be keeping this as canon as possible, based on my analysis on his character, I’ve been studying this man’s thoughts and behavior for 3 years more than I studied for college lmfao

Since the day he was born, Dabi has dedicated his life to Endeavor: until the age of 13, when he was still Touya, he dedicated his life to make Endeavor proud. Then when Touya died and Dabi was born, he dedicated his life to make Endeavor suffer one day. So it’s easy to say, his life goals and purpose were always for Endeavor, his father totally consumed his life for worse.

So imagine, just imagine how his world would turn upside down when for the first time in his life, he sees another purpose in life which isn’t Endeavor..

It’s all very new to him, all his life Dabi’s emotions went around Endeavor, and for now it’s all about the hatred and revenge. But when you come in his life, and his cold heart starts feeling new things, he panicks and is extremely confused. Because he has never experienced something as good as this, the warmth on his chest when you smile at him cause when was the last time someone gave Dabi a genuine smile? People would fear and hate him, or see him as weak and useless like Endeavor did back then.

Dabi can’t help the way excitement fills his body when you praise him for how strong he is, how good he is leading things as the lieutenant of the Violet Regiment, how skilled he is at coming up with new strategies to bring the heroes down. You truly admire his intelligence and strength, and other people might too, but he likes to hear it from you.

Whenever he makes decisions or does things, his mind goes to you; what would you think if he did this? What would you say if he did that? What would you think if he wore this today?

That’s how Dabi is when he loves someone too much, he dedicates everything to them, he acts based on what his favorite/ beloved person would think about him. He did it with Endeavor back then, now he does it with you.

And let me tell you, he hates it at the same time, makes him feel so stupid and vulnerable cause who even are you to make him feel this way? How dare you? He has goals to achieve, a purpose, and you’re just.. there. Distracting him with that cute face of yours he wants to burn down and kiss so bad at the same time.

Dabi’s love is pure, when he loves someone he stays loyal to them, he has no ill intentions, he’d never use them for any selfish purpose. He knows how it feels like to be used for a selfish purpose and then tossed away when you didn’t fulfill it. He knows how it feels like to have your emotions and thoughts ignored, to be neglected by people you love, to be seen as unimportant and undesirable. Dabi would rather die than treat you in the same way, though he fears that you’d be the one to treat him like that instead.

Dabi has major trust issues, don’t expect him to open his heart to you that easily, he has difficulties to put his emotions into words, even more to express them to somebody else, because he knows nobody would care. He grew up this way, holding everything inside, inferior towards others, always a lone wolf and doing things on his own.

He thinks he’d be weak if he spilled his emotions, we see that even as a child Touya hated to cry because he felt vulnerable and facing his own emotions was something he wanted to avoid. So his tear ducts burned down.

Dabi feels everything too much, since he can’t cry when he feels overwhelmed, he smiles instead, says the most vile things ever known to man, he acts pretty well and makes others think that he indeed is an emotionless monster. If at some point you end up hurting him, I see him hurting you back way worse, he’ll crack and make you hate him even more on purpose.

Dabi never gave it a thought to live long, his body is dying but he keeps going only for one purpose: to leave his mark on this rotten world.

He lives in agony, knowing that his goals would send him to death when deep down he also wants to stay with you for the rest of his life, you made him see life colorful for the first time, and he doesn’t want to let this opportunity go. So here would be two endings; a tragedy, Dabi gives you the last kiss before he goes to war, and you give him your last kiss when you hold his burnt dying body in your arms.

Or the happy ending; Dabi manages to live, his body in a terrible condition but he still lives.

Dabi in love would be someone that would totally die for you. But he’d also do something much harder, Dabi would live for you as well.

They are giving apolitical but not fully. Like they have some base understandings but they just don't care to dig deeper and really ENGAGE, at least not consistently.

- sukuna gives occasional politics but also apolitical dictator but also if he was a real human being I think he'd go left but like aggressive left that sometimes it seems right lmfao His canon character is def just... sukuna. Like he can and will just simply kill you and anyone who he doesn't vibe with cuz its his world, he already has all the power in the world, but it's not like he hates separate groups of people like right wing dictators usually do. I’ve been thinking about Steph and cass lately, especially with my recent re-read of Batgirl 2009. You’re totally right in that Steph does not even once spare Cass a single thought or even speak about her at all in the entire run. But it also got me thinking, didn’t this exact scenario already play out except with Tim? I’ll admit it’s been awhile since I’ve read her run as Robin, but I feel like once she got the mantle of Robin (again, taken from someone else- this time Tim) she never really spared him a second thought either. And then when she gets the Batgirl mantle from Cass, she never spared her a second thought. I know that the writers probably did not intend for this sort of characteristic to shine through, but it’s interesting nonetheless that this has happened twice. Does Steph just view people as disposable? Or as extensions of herself? And that’s why the second she gets what she wants from them or can’t get anything more from them, they drop in importance in her eyes and she doesn’t spare them a second thought? What are you views on it? (Also supergirl showing up in the middle was so damn random lmfao, did they have any previous links before that issue? Or even after that issue? I feel a bit bad for Kara that she constantly has to be besties with whoever the newest batgirl is T-T)

That is how I tend to view her, when I'm not taking steps to deliberately soften her character (like with Batgirl, Repentant). She does think about Tim a few times while she's Robin, but it's mostly in passing -- first explaining to Cass why she's in the Robin suit in Batgirl; then because he got a hold of her over the phone, briefly; and then because her last case involved an assassin, Scarab, who was hired to kill people who looked like him. Once that's established, he's out of her thoughts.

After that she thinks of him again in the lead-up to War Games, namely in the "Prelude," from Batman 12-Cent Adventure #1, which is partially an excuse to do set-up/recap flashbacks for anybody tuning into the event who hasn't been reading Batman regularly, but is also when we actually get to see the Incident that kicks off the gang war -- and it's told from Steph's perspective.

And a little later on when she hears his school got shot up, she's devastated, fully bursts into tears and is terrified that she might've gotten him killed.

That said, her writing in War Games is largely an outlier -- for all the problems with that story (and there are so many problems, don't get me wrong), it legitimately has some of the best, most selfless and heroic characterization Steph has ever been given. It's tragic heroism, but it's still genuine heroism all the same.

The rest of the time... Yeah, she just doesn't really seem to make many connections or think much about other people when they're not directly involved in getting her what she wants. That's the vibe I get, too.

As for Supergirl: they did actually establish that. There was a 4-isuue World's Finest miniseries in 2009 that told one semi-ongoing story but also used each individual issue to team up a member of the new "Batman Reborn" Batfamily up with one of the similarly-revamped "New Krypton"-era Superfam.

Issue #1 was where Tim (as Red Robin) was reintroduced to the 15-year-old Chris Kent Nightwing (and Thara Ak-Var Flamebird). Issue #2 was Damian and the Guardian. Issue #3 had Babs call in Kara to rescue Steph from a death trap and then they teamed up. and Issue #4 had Dick-Bats and Clark come in to bring most of the threads together for a big finale.

The mini overall is... okay, though there's some characterization I'm not fond of, and something about the art style just. Really empathizes how much I fucking hate Steph's ugly Batgirl costume.

(Why. Does she wear her fucking belt so loose. They do it so it'll hang akimbo on her hips but it's made of huge weighted pouches, it'd spin around her waist when she tried to grapple like a goddamn hula hoop!!)

Pudding is such a complex character! I love her so so much! She really means the world to me. Honestly, her whole story is completely relatable and the fact that it's basically used to parallel Sanji's doesn't help. It just makes everything hurt more. I could talk about her for hours and how misinterpreted her character is due to fandom discourse and the recent wave of "puritanism" within the internet.

I'm not gonna get too into fandom discourse because I hate it and I already have horrible experiences about it in this fandom (with Lawlu, specifically), but... I find it stupid. Her character has so many layers. She's just as complex and traumatized as Sanji. That's... That's quite the whole point? She made mistakes and has mixed feelings and different types of personalities due to her past and trauma responses. She made mistakes. Sanji made mistakes too. The only damn reason why people don't forgive her is because "she hurt our little meow meow <//3 She's so evil!!! Evil woman!!!" as if they wouldn't forgive her character right away if she were a MAN. Like. Misogyny who??

Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious people don't like Pudding because of obvious misogyny and overprotection of Sanji. Which is understandable because I'm also very intense when it comes to him, but damn... He would not like it if he knew y'all hate her for her mistakes.

Also, people only talk about her to say "she's a great character but her age gap with Sanj-" why does it always have to be about Sanji? Let the girl be her own character. Have you hear of the Bechdel test? No? Perhaps you could try it? Her character is obviously created for Sanji, but she's so much more! Let her escape!!! From the hands of patriarchy and men!! That being said, the whole discourse about their age gap is... Just... So fucking stupid.

Don't go cancelling me right away. I'm just saying that when it comes to stuff like age Oda doesn't seem to be very... Consistent? He's made mistakes before. And the Charlottes are a very huge family. I'm sure not even Oda knows the order of these children, lmfao. I think he would only say shit like "Katakuri is one of the oldest and Pudding is one of the youngest idk. Just made her one of the youngest to match Sanji's backstory of being one of the youngest". But leaving that aside-- Maturity never equals age in a show that's... About pirates... Where everyone has different experiences with different social surroundings... It's just like the Lawlu discourse, damn. You have to know the characters before saying crazy stuff like "Law would groom Luffy" because HOW??? HOW WOULD HE DO THAT??? That's basically impossible. And you need to think about the characters before assuming things. And Sanji and Pudding? Leaving aside the age difference, Pudding has more power over Sanji and that's noticeable. Does that even matter tho? They understand each other on the same level after all in the end. Tbh I couldn't tell about the age difference. I thought they were the same age ngl. Only found out bc I saw the discourse going on and my first reaction was "This is fucking dumb". Tbh their relationship is one of the healthiest I've ever seen for Sanji. We see him being himself for once without being extremely creepy. The whole arc about him losing himself is about a girl loving him for who he truly is. And the whole arc about a girl being judged for being different is about a boy loving her for who she truly is. It's so beautiful!!!

Anyway. Not the point. The thing is that people hate Pudding for... Absolutely nothing? Not knowing how to read complex characters? I still don't get it. Perhaps it's just that my mommy issues are too harsh and I can see through her but damn.

Ana also the whole thing about erasing Sanji's memories? People hate her for that and calling her... Selfish??? Did you not... Watch the scene... Of her crying because she lost the only person she has ever truly loved. But whatever. Call her selfish.

My spread for To The Moon! A friend recommended me this game and although there were a lot of things I really liked about this game, I really really don't like sad stories so this particular game just wasn't for me. The storytelling and art and music was all super well done!! I just hate reading or watching something that will leave me depressed afterwards.

So I do recommend this game if you like sad stories and my score is very subjective to my personal tastes, so don't let that deter you if you are interested in this game. I also gave Celeste a low score even though if I had watched a playthrough instead of playing it, it would've been way higher (I hated the mechanics but loved the art and storytelling). It's just not for me and that's totally okay!

Summary:

Although I liked the story and thought the thing was very wellmade, this game just wasn't my particular cup of tea. Similar to Celeste, I prob would've liked it if I had watched it instead. It's a depressing tale esp after realizing all the work you do is just some simulation and joey still died and river still died heartbroken. It's absolutely a game I'd recommend for people who like sad/sappy stories but it's not something I'd personally replay. Idk if I'll watch or play through the extra content, again this story just made me kinda depressed and i don't enjoy this feeling. I'm also confused why they acted like river's diagnosis was taboo or smth, she had smth like autism right? Why did they say so... The art style is very cute and the animations were done incredibly well. The environments were especially superbly made. The controls were a little odd esp for the mini games. A little disappointed I didn't learn to use the arrow keys until the last ten minutes of the game. Eva and Neil were fun characters, i liked their dynamic. I understand the structure of the story and finding key pieces of their life, but the gameplay got pretty repetitive and tedious until the switch in act 2/3. Overall, a good game with beautiful designs and simple mechanics. If you like sad/tragic stories then I def recommend. This game reminds me a lot of UP (the movie) so I think MC would really like this game (an old teacher of mine).

Also a little note on my comments for autism, I also have autism so it just felt a little weird playing this game. I'm sure the attitudes around autism were much different in the time they were depicting (probably around the mid to late 20th century) but it still rubbed me the wrong way that it seemed everyone treated river poorly, especially her husband. And I also just hate miscommunication tropes so bad so part of that really played into some of the diagnosis and storytelling. Again, not a game for me personally and these were just my critiques but I'm not actually or seriously offended by this game, I just hate sad shit!!!!!!
