Pea-can. hm. hm.#anyway)#but this guy had some other really random junk lying around so I decided to take a look and I actually found something really msyerious!#there was this book with a big ‘2’ on it and I couldn’t find the other ones so I was like hey where’s the rest of these and he was like #we already sold them off and I was like WHAT that’s so crazy #like if you’re gonna sell a set of books #WHY would you sell each one separately cuz that would really suck to just like #start in the middle of a series or get hooked and never be able to continue it #and I was pretty wary anyways cuz it looked so CRYPTIC and WEIRD #but he said he’d give it to me for 92 cents and baby that’s a STEAL #couldn’t NOT take it #I mean it sat around on my desk for months and I mainly just used it as a paperweight until one night #they stopped broadcasting America’s Got Talent on my channel and out of SPITE I decided to find a way to defy American Tradition #and read a book #….what? ohhhh you though I was gonna build an inator over this #no at the time I was already working on a Tuesday Inator that would force every Calendar in the Tri-State area to always have every day #as Tuesday so I could ALWAYS have a discount on tacos! do you know how OVERPRICED those things are when they’re not on Tuesday?

do you ever think about how Ohkubo extremely casually dropped the fact that Spirit & Kami were teen parents & then proceeded to never expound upon that fact or bring it up ever again despite it explaining a whole lot about them & Maka

#I think a big part of why I'm so attached to/interested in spirit as a character is because he objectively has A LOT going on in his life.#but because he was created to fill that stock pervy comedic-relief anime side-character archetype we never get to see any of it examined.#or even brought up at all for the most part #like spirit apparently comes from a long line of death weapons who despite having been loyal to lord death for generations are never ever #mentioned & who spirit himself never mentions despite carrying on the family tradition (although he's not unique in that regard tbh)#at 12-13 years old he becomes stein's weapon partner & in his own words it became “[spirit's] job to control [stein].”#another kid with a laundry list of mental health & behavioral issues that spirit probably wasn't super prepared to help “control”#(personally I think that this “job” of spirit's was a duty he took upon himself rather than something lord death necessarily told him to do)#then just ~5 years later he 1) loses/rejects said weapon partner & probably best friend after some really major boundaries were crossed #2) becomes a husband & father at just 18 #(& in his own words a broke 18 year old at that. another point towards him not being in contact with any family if they're even alive)#3) becomes technically one of the most important people in the world once he ascends to being a death weapon.#not necessarily in that exact order but certainly in quick succession.#& then we fast forward to canon & spirit's at best a guy who drinks way more than he probably should & at worst a functioning alcoholic #who's only A MONTH into being divorced for his habitual infidelity & is in the really weird position of being the primary caretaker of his #daughter who (rightfully) hates him despite him having zero custodial rights over her.#& imo he seems to have no friends in death city before stein & the other death scythes return despite generally being a people person.#like. spirit is kind of the epitome of should've been at the club lmao #soul eater #spirit albarn #kami albarn #meta (kind of. not really lol)

i have done...an absolute deep dive into blues and folk music tonight. it was 100% one of those blink and three hours have passed type of deals. worth it though.

#be warned if you go into the tags i will explain how this all came up. educational but long!#so it started with two questions. mostly because i live in the ozarks i wanted to know and secondly i like music if you haven't caught on #(btw i am so giving you guys the quick and easy version if you are reading this at all)#anyway. the first question was 'why does the ozarks have such a country influence but also bluegrass but also blues but also folk but al-'#because while i grew up in stl i am now like. living living in the ozarks right? right. and i for sure can see how we are the like...#the little sibling of the appalachian mountains. and i thought it was just cause aw cute mini mountains (highlands people)#but instead its cause there were settlers from appalachia! which makes a ton of sense now seeing influences and culture etc etc #so we cleared up that. we know why the ozarks is the way it is (or at least part of it)#btw anyone who says branson is a ��true reflection” of the ozarks is out of their damn minds.#that shit is tourist central and just drives me up the wall. they are playing a parody of themselves is the best way to describe it #caricature maybe??? point is. “h'yuck h'yuck we're the country jubilee!” is not uhhhh ozarks and never was?#like it was but they took it a step further. so. anyway #can you tell i'm fixated on this right now? moving on! question 2 was quite literally 'what genre is this song'#it's 'fault line' by black rebel motorcycle club (which i highly suggest everyone listen to)#but i was like hmmm very bluesy harmonica but just fingerpicking guitar so that's more folksy #so! i went on a deep dive of what technically considers blues blues and what folk is. and guess what! the ozarks play into this too #because! the thing is that the ozarks is weird. st louis is technically not in the ozarks but on the outskirts. and stl is influenced by...#the mississippi delta! therefore blues music which led to rock and roll etc #(that's a whole other tangent for another day on stl and blues and rock and roll)#but anyway it makes sense that once you have folks from stl area coming down to the ozarks then you also have that combo of...#mississippi delta and appalachia music. so then we go back to “fault line” right?#i have declared it folk mostly because it definitely doesn't follow traditional blues progression or call and response.#so anyway. deep dive tonight was basically what is this song's genre and how does that wrap into where i live!#which also. brmc is like...usually listed as a “rock” band from san francisco which hey! awesome.#but like. from the songs i've heard and especially causing me to do this deep dive...they do not strike me as a californian band #music is cool! regions are cool! culture is cool! i just like to see how it's all spread out ya know?#if you've read this far gold star! i hope you've learned something tonight from reading the ramblings of a fixated person #i'm rambling again aren't i

I... I had a lot of trouble with this one. Originally was going to have Yami!Bakura holding Bakura's chin while Bakura looked a little lost or soulless. Of course, I have no idea if such posing was in character or not... and then! I remembered that these characters have Millennium Puzzles or whatever. And I looked up what Bakura's was, and it was the Ring. So I was like... what if they are both holding it in their mouths, because symbolism, and also because that would be suggestive, and suggestive is totes in the realm of shippy? But then. But then I couldn't figure out the bodies or the faces and so I was like, HOW ABOUT JUST THEIR FACES. But then I was really struggling with the G pen (first time using it was today!) and then... and then... yeah. I was like. Why don't I just. Fix my mistakes digitally. But that didn't turn out well either. So I just redrew it, reiterating on the previous pose idea, but making it smaller so it was easier to ink, and by this point, I was very tired.

I also generally disagree with the idea some people seem to have that All Star Wars Should Be Like Andor Now cause like. I do like that Andor was different from the more traditional Star Wars feel cause that shows how varied this franchise can be. You can fit many types of stories with different tones into the Star Wars universe and that’s a big part of what makes it so great. So when people are like “every Star Wars thing should be like Andor” I just hear “they should take away the variety and make everything the same now” which would make the universe way less interesting. What works for one series doesn’t necessarily work for another, even if they’re part of the same franchise.

#i remember when the mando season 3 premiere aired and i saw someone who was like ''fuck nevarro give me ferrix any day''#and it's like why are you even comparing them #one is a community struggling under imperial rule and the other is thriving in a post-empire galaxy #of COURSE they're different they serve different purposes in their respective narratives #i like lothal from rebels but i don't think every other planet should have the same look and feel as lothal #where would be the fun in seeing different planets if they made them all the same #also i'll be the first to say it: andor's tone isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's perfectly fine #traditional star wars is more weird and pulpy but andor's much more grounded #and again that's fine it works for what that series was doing #but the more grounded feeling isn't for everyone #i know i personally have more fun with star wars when it's fucking weird #so no just cause andor's tone and feel worked for it i don't think it'd work for other sw stories #shut up tristan

Doing research for Foxy's whole wild western thing with the horsies and stuff is really annoying actually? I feel like there's a lot of rodeo sports in here that either shouldn't exist, or could very easily be made totally fine if they could be bothered to put the effort into it.

Like... guys... you can train cows. Did you know that? You can train literally any animal you want... if the cow is scared when you're lassoing it maybe like... teach it to be in on the game? Let the cow play too? I feel like that's such a stupidly obvious solution to some of these man...

Not all of them though! Obviously not all of them! I'm thinking of the ones where they just lasso the horns and steer it in a different direction and that's it! The rest of those ones can fuck the hell off what the actual hell possessed anyone to consider cattle wrestling as a fucking sport? Like yeah sure a sport revolving around turning a cows head 180 degrees by jumping on it's horns seems perfectly safe and completely reasonable, not at all absolutely insane /s
