#why are THEY unredeemable compared to neighsay and discord?

I do like Discord being redeemed to an extent (more so for the potential rather than the execution in most episodes, and tbh I think that he was handled at least a bit better in the comics sometimes), but. I'm gonna be honest, the Grogar = Discord reveal is awful and pretty much soured his so-called 'redemption' for me even more. It's inconceivable to me Chrysalis, Cozy, and Tirek were punished to the fullest extent possible, but Discord got off scot free and even got to decide they would be turned to stone. The show was so wrapped up in impressing bronies, they didn't think anything through at all. I guess him getting magic back would make sense since we know Discord is in danger if he doesn't create some chaos, but nobody even questions if he should be at full power after that stunt. Like, regardless of if those three COULD change (and I would've liked to see Tirek, Cozy, and Chryalis grow as people), how is it fair for the ringleader to not suffer any consequences? Those three weren't even hurting anyone until Discord dragged them into his plan, and Sombra was dead until Discord brought him back. Nobody even cares Discord is responsible for destroying the elements of harmony AND getting everyone enslaved by Sombra just to "help" Twilight either, but somehow three guys who were no longer a major threat until he forced them (since we see him use force as Grogar to keep them in line too :/) into his plan deserve to be stone for who knows how long. Make it make sense.

Discord redemption is fun conceptually….but a bit wonky in execution.

I actually thought he had brought them back to see if he could redeem them himself! I thought the trio bonding would’ve lead to them seeing the magic of friendship but like, that would be too earnest for latter seasons of the talking neon pony cartoon. Gotta keep that cynical edge and self-awareness lest the bronies think our cartoon is cringe I guess.

Big missed opportunities all around. Friendship is magic except for these three I guess lol
