To anyone who complains “they did a 180 on the characters from season 1 to season 2” or “the writers forgot who these characters are” or similar variations..
Let’s do a little test.
Write out each scene following a character. Describe what happens in that scene and how you think it made the character feel.
Don’t embellish it much or inject your personal gripes, just focus on what ACTUALLY happens and what we are shown. Try to be as objective as possible.
Because I think if you try to do this experiment you’ll find that the characters actually behave pretty rationally and consistently with their characters between both seasons, and that a big part of the reason why they “change” is because season 1’s ending hurt everyone in different ways.
Let’s do Caitlyn for example. We will start at the end of Season 1 and do the first episode of season 2.
—————
Caitlyn was kidnapped from her bathroom by Jinx.
At some point between then and now, she was dressed up in her enforcer uniform, tied to a wheel chair, gagged, and drawn on.
She is kept hidden in a dark room, and cannot see what’s going to happen, and likely doesn’t even know what happened to her just that she’s tied up and terrified.
Then Jinx wheels her to a dinner table where both Vi and Silco are tied up too.
Jinx makes a plea with Vi and asks Vi to kill her so she can have Powder back. Caitlyn’s eyes tear up.
When Vi says she can’t, Jinx scoffs and points a gun at Caitlyn’s head. Caitlyn closes her eyes and recoils as best she can in her binds. She is terrified. She thinks she’s about to die.
Vi pleads for her life again and stops Jinx from pulling the trigger. She looks panicked and afraid, tears still coming down her face.
At a certain point, Silco enters the debate and distracts Jinx who breaks a glass in front of Caitlyn.
Seeing an opportunity, Caitlyn manages to use the broken shard to break her bonds and she quickly grabs Jinx’s weapon.
Angrily, she tells Jinx to drop the gun. When Jinx doesn’t, Caitlyn fires a warning shot. Vi pleads with her to stop, and Caitlyn says Jinx is too far gone. She fires a second warning shot that proves to Jinx that she is not playing around.
Caitlyn has Jinx in her sights. The person she’s been hunting down all season. The person who killed her comrades, and blown up a building, and stole stuff from her best friend, and killed her commander, and attacked her on the bridge.
Jinx puts down the gun, raises her hands, and pretends to be a defenseless child.
At the last second she laughs, bridges the gap between her and Caitlyn with the power of her Shimmer Ability, and knocks her out.
The next thing Caitlyn knows is that Vi is helping her get up. Silco is dead. Vi is alone with her. Off in the distance, Jinx fires a rocket at the council.
Caitlyn screams, knowing that the rocket is headed directly where her mother is.
The next time we see Caitlyn she is standing in her house as her mother is being carried out in a coffin. She attends a funeral for her mother, but it’s clear that she is all alone and the world around her is black and white. She tries to look at her mother one last time as the lid of the coffin closes.
Still in a stunned state, Caitlyn is called into the damaged counsel chambers. Sitting in the seat her mother once sat in. The weight of responsibility crushing down on her.
She confirms that the attack on the council was not the act of Zaun, but that of a single deranged individual: Jinx.
When Sallow proposes flooding Zaun with enforcers armed with Hextech weaponry, she balks at that idea. She warns “innocents will be hit in the crossfire!”
But it’s no use. The council has decided. They are going to invade.
Back at home, still in an emotionless stupor, Caitlyn is reading condolence messages when her father shows up. He is very clearly broken at the fact that he lost his wife. Caitlyn tries to offer him tea, but he doesn’t take it. Feeling guilty, she tells him “I had the shot.” Caitlyn puts the blame of her mother’s death on her shoulders to try and spare her father’s feelings.
Her father hands her the Kiramman Key, a device used to unlock knowledge for the head of the house… which Caitlyn is now.
Then he sees Vi lurking in the shadows and complains that she’s still hanging around.
Caitlyn goes to see Vi, and she breaks down. Vi is the only person she feels comfortable showing her emotions to and she collapses in her arms.
After crying, she tells Vi that the enforcers are going to invade Zaun. And she’s going to go with them.
Vi is horrified and tries to find a different solution. She suggests she can find and take care of Jinx if Jayce can only fix the gauntlets. Vi thinks it’s better to go alone.
But Caitlyn does not believe this. She just lost her mother. She is scared she will lose Vi too. And so the only way to ensure both of them are well protected is to keep Vi close to her. She recommends that Vi become an enforcer and springs the badge on her.
Vi is naturally horrified. Caitlyn and Vi have been growing close, but this is a step too far for Vi. Caitlyn tries to empathize with Vi by comparing the loss of her mother to Jinx to the loss of VI’s parents to enforcers, but she fails. Obviously. It was a bad comparison and done entirely out of her desire to keep Vi close and did not consider VI’s feelings at all.
Feeling rejected, Caitlyn says “I thought you were on our side.” Indicating that she felt that Vi and her had been on the same page up until now. She took that for granted and did not consider VI’s feelings. This is a trend that started in Season 1 when Caitlyn didn’t understand how no one knew Vi was in prison or that her parents didn’t check up on her in there. It’s a position of privilege and it was wrong of her and naturally Vi walks away.
The next time we see Caitlyn she’s in the garden. Watching the leaves of the tree fall. She hallucinates about killing Jinx. The laugh from when Jinx attacked her in the dinner party setting ringing in her ear. She is mentally trying to relive that moment and achieve a better outcome. But just then Jayce interrupts her.
Caitlyn then confides in Jayce that she has 3 people floating around her head. She sees her mother, dead on the floor after the attack. She sees Jinx, laughing, and she starts to get really dark about it to the point that Jayce looks concerned for her. The imagery in this scene focuses on the leaves flying through the air in swirls.
But then when she talks about Vi, those leaves settle down and relax. Vi is the calming factor in her life. Her love for Vi is more powerful than her hatred for Jinx.
And then she comments that she understands how easy it is to hate them (people in the undercity), all because of one violent act. Caitlyn has been profoundly affected and traumatized by this event, but she is putting on a good show at processing it.
She does not blame all of Zaun for what Jinx did, but she recognizes that it’s easy to do so.
The next time we see her it’s at the memorial. She is trying to let her feelings for her mother get closure. It is somber and sad. But then she sees Vi tailing someone and gets concerned.
Just then the attack on the memorial begins. Friends and colleagues are being hurt and injured. Several of her Enforcer coworkers are slaughtered.
Caitlyn is trapped by one of the large mech bots, and just as she’s about to be killed Vi leaps in and saves her. Together they are able to take down the mech bot, showing that their teamwork together is unparalleled.
Caitlyn tries to take out a giant mech bot but cannot. No matter how many times she shoots it, she can’t seem to pierce the armor shell enough to stop it.
But Ambessa’s forces can. Ambessa’s warriors swoop in, and just like that the attack is over.
Caitlyn is being taken care of by her fellow Enforcer comrades. When she sees Vi coming over she shoos away her comrades and tries to present herself to Vi.
Vi makes an attempt at humor, but clearly the attack has rattled her as well.
Caitlyn watches a child crying being comforted by an enforcer. Caitlyn, who has been holding in her emotions this entire episode, lets the anger that has been bubbling up inside her explode out. “A MEMORIAL! What kind of ANIMALS??!” And then she catches herself.
Vi says they wanted the spectacle to scare them.
Caitlyn responds that all it really did was piss her off MORE.
Vi is sensing where this is going. She carefully asks Caitlyn to find a way to call off the upcoming invasion.
Caitlyn is taken back by this. Zaun just attacked her mother’s memorial, and now the woman she loves and looks to for calmness and a grounded perspective is telling her she can’t take revenge on them.
Caitlyn then has another outburst and expresses how her mother passing away has left this giant gaping hole in her that she can’t seem to fill. The weight of her newfound title as a leader of house Kiramman is hanging heavy on her brow. What is she supposed to do?
And Vi opens up. Vi tells her that the hole gets smaller but it never goes away. This honesty and empathy from Vi is what brings her back down to reality.
Caitlyn then apologizes to Vi for springing the enforcer badge on her. She admits it was wrong to do so.
Caitlyn then opens up too. She shares her fears. She expresses worry that if she go after Jinx alone, either she or Jinx will die. Caitlyn doesn’t want to kill Jinx, she wants her to be held accountable for her actions. And she’s terrified that if she kills Jinx, she will lose Vi. If Jinx kills her, she loses Vi.
Her support structures are crumbling around her. She has no one left.
But then just as Caitlyn is on the verge of tears, Vi tells her that she still has her and sits down next to her.
We see Caitlyn using the Kiramman Key to access the “record system” and starts to learn about what her family did. She discovers that her family made the vents that lead the smog out of Zaun. And she gets an idea!.
The next time we see Caitlyn she is dressed up and sporting Hex Tech weapons she got Jayce to make. She storms into a council meeting and declares that she is going to take care of the situation.
She informs them that the attack on the memorial proves that a full scale attack on Zaun is a TERRIBLE idea that that people will die. So instead she proposes a much more strategic plan that will not cost the lives of innocent people, both topside and bottom.
Caitlyn will lead a small strike team into Zaun to dismantle shimmer, round up Silco’s goons, and capture Jinx. Her team is assembled not by the usual fellow enforcers, but by people she fought along side with at the memorial who she knows want to protect lives and keep people safe.
And as “Heavy is the Crown” plays, Vi rounds out her party, reluctantly putting on the badge and gear to ensure that Caitlyn is safe. Because when Vi and Caitlyn work together they can accomplish ANYTHING.
———
Now tell me..
Does that sound like Caitlyn’s character “is inconsistent” and “switches on a dime?” Or that the writers “forgot who the characters were?” Cuz I think when you write it out like this, you can see how each moment builds on the last and her character remains very consistent even when external factors force her to change.

Villain & Violent

Prologue
You were a child just a normal child who just wanted a family, everyone else gets to have that why not you? All those years of calling , praying , begging for them to glance at you was embarrassing how childish of you to ever hope for them to lower themselves to you. Here you are with some thug with a gun in your temple shaking “ If y-ou don’t give me the money , I’ll shoot!” he stuttered out with a pink hello kitty gun. Staying still as if you’re a nothing but decoration in the donut store “You know I am more of a my melody gal” you began to take the cash out of the counter as you arrogantly show of your nails. “Well no one can beat the original and the BEST” he said taking the cash of your hands as you glare at him. “Hello kitty such a basic answer you poser” “ And My Melody ain’t??” the two of you have a stare off.
“Respect?”
“Respect.”
The two of you saluted each other as hear the police sirens come out of time and this how your life is a string of badluck , jinxes , accidents , mistakes , and you. “Honestly , I can’t believe I haven’t quit this daam job” you said walking at an alleyway on your way to the manor. When the same fucking hello kitty boy was fighting for his life with some oversize hyenas of men looked at you; you were about to turn away when he yelled. “HER. SHE’S THE ONE WHO GAVE ME THE MONEY” How. The . Fuck-
“And that’s how I died.” You remembered but at the same time you don’t. There had to be more than this , looking at your hands the same My Melody nailset it was fresh so it still be 2 more weeks before you died. Looking around your at the dinning room alone as usual waiting for Alfred to come and bring your lunch, you feel something wet on your cheek. Is that how my life was? Unfullfiling? A comedic death? I didn’t even get my 7 minutes… Why did I die like that? Why didn’t I run? Why did I just stand there you stupid , idiotic , dumb bitch of a- “(Name), what are you doing?” Bruce stood in the door looking at your arm full of scratches, bleeding their staining the table cloth and your blood shot eyes.
Be honest with me am I insane I wrote a 7k+ fanfic becuase I lost my cellphone and had no wifi for an entire day. I am just gonna continue it since it would be a waste not to. Enjoy my word spam of a story and no it's not even nearly done.

I still really love Act l of Arcane Season 2 and I was so hopeful with how everything was set up and I still think everything is the first Act was good, approaching Season 1 level.
However now that we have the whole season I’ve seen a lot more people start to interrogate the writing, specifically of Cait and Vi.
I was first to defend the way things were done in act l but now that we have the rest of the story it puts many of the choices in a different light and it’s definitely worth criticism.
It remains me a lot of how I feel about Wasteland, the scene of Ekko talking Jinx down. The scene itself is great, stunning and really shows the care both of them have for each other despite all they’ve been through. Ekko not giving up on her because he sees her value where she sees a curse. It’s interesting to see that at her lowest she doesn’t bother to hide that she cares deeply about him. It’s good (though objectively should have been longer) and in isolation I appreciate it.
Retroactively it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. After the ending and Jinx “sacrifice” (that’s set to the same song) I feel like the writers really didn’t care about Jinx coming back from rock bottom with her supports (not seeing anything in between doesn’t help this). She dies and it’s framed the same way as all of her previous attempts and now it’s framed as good. It poisons the scene with Ekko the same as Vi’s later writing poisons her decisions in Act l. Because we now know they don’t care and were not going to be responsible with what they were depicting.
That scene also seems to be unnaturally beautiful, combined with the glorification of Jinx’s sacrifice it’s sickening. They wanted a spectacle and that was what they chose to debut the Z -Drive….
Even the good parts have to be called into question after the later decisions.
#act l we could have had it all#wasteland bothers me now#I started an analysis for it but anything I had to praise was subject to questioning#putting this here cause I never want to think about it again but#why do all (2) of Ekko and Jinx’s on screen interactions involve her trying to blow herself up#???#there were also (many) less traumatic ways for Ekko to first use his device#also why do I feel like they’re avoiding solving the conflict between these two#they just don’t have to address it now because we know they’d do anything for each other in a do or die situation#we see how much they mean to each other but we don’t actually get to see the dynamic grow#arcane#arcane critical#stop rushing the ships with shock value challenge#writing this so I can stop thinking about it#jinx arcane#ekko arcane#timebomb#vi arcane#arcane season 2

I bet some of y'all have wondered why Jinx, despite having all of these keen senses and impeccable reflexes, just simply allows Isha to just fall right on her. If you ask me I think this a great way of demonstrating how Jinx views her own life and the lives of others.
She could've easily stepped out of the way of Isha's fall, which would no doubt hurt Isha a lot more in the process and spare Jinx herself any pain. But because Jinx chose to break her fall (and save Isha from serious injury), it shows that despite all that she's been through and despite all of her destructive and violent tendencies, there is still a piece of humanity in her, as she allows herself to be hurt herself to save someone else.
And that brings us to another critical (and very tragic) detail about this scene: SHE DOESN'T MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO PROTECT HERSELF. She doesn't make any sort of attempt to catch Isha in her arms, and she doesn't even attempt to shield herself from the fall and just takes it all full force. In other words, she didn't just allow herself to get hurt; SHE WANTS TO GET HURT. And we see that mindset later when she says "No matter what I do, I just can't seem to die."
So when she says that she wants to "watch it all burn," she wants herself to burn as well because all of that pain and trauma she witnessed and endured has finally driven her to a point where she values her own life so little, and that's made all the more tragic by the fact that she still cares the lives of others (i.e. Vi and Isha).
As if I didn't feel sorry for her enough.

I guess why the ending of arcane still doesn’t feel real to me and why jayvik moves me so much is because it defies so much of what I was taught to expect by conventional male-dominated, heteronormative narratives. Because at the end of the story, Jayce had everything he should have wanted. Saved the world. Both Piltover and Zaun respected him. He had strength and charisma and the cool magic hammer he’d fantasized about wielding since he was a kid, and his battle scars only made him hotter somehow. And he had a goddess of a woman expressing trust and care for him, and who probably would’ve liked to get back together with him, at least in some capacity. Meanwhile, characters like Viktor are supposed to die at the end. No matter how sympathetic of a villain he is, the gay disabled guy who irreversibly gave up his humanity to be an evil robot is supposed to self-implode. That character archetype is supposed to redeem himself by taking himself out of the narrative so that the hero can get the happy ending. Someone made a great comparison to the Phantom of the Opera, but this pattern is true for pretty much every mainstream story I can think of. Hell, even Jinx sort of did that, literally ejecting herself from the narrative so that Vi can live in Piltover and get together with Cait. Viktor seemed self-aware of this trope at the end. He had closed his eyes, deciding to accept his own lonely demise if it meant Jayce would live.
But Jayce rejects all of that. The story rejects all of that. And it doesn’t even blink twice to do it. Jayce says all I want is my partner back, and he chooses to die holding hands with Viktor instead. And the story says of course Jayce will choose this, because he always loved Viktor and wanted to be with Viktor more than he wanted any of those other things men are supposed to want. More than power, or respect, or sex, or legacy. Just Viktor. Always Viktor. And in the end, Viktor finally embraces that love, accepts and reciprocates it, in allowing Jayce to be with him in his final moments.
It’s so beautiful and it’s so, so queer. Do not come at me with platonic/romantic discourse because I do not care, I genuinely do not care. The story practically sings with queer love. It’s undooming him from the ableist patriarchal narrative so you can exchange magic wedding rings and hold each others’ souls forever in the astral plane. It’s everything I was afraid to ask for from a story because I never thought I would get it. I still can’t quite believe it’s real, and canon, and carved into the very bones of the story. I love it so much.

"I think the cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away."
Got a lot of Q's for this in my inbox. Figured I'd just address them here.
tw: mentions of suicide, suicidal ideation
Re: the ending of S2:
Jinx did not die.
She symbolically killed her old self, and with it, her last ties to the past that imprisoned her. She understood that for her sister to move on and live her life - be happy without guilt - she'd have to renounce the bonds that held them together.
Her talk with ghostly Silco was the 'sign-off' she'd been waiting for, ever his dutiful daughter. Throughout S2, she kept hoping he'd haunt her, and in doing so, offer some impetus given her aimlessness. Maybe just straight up boss her around, and tell her how she's supposed to exist now that he's no longer there to be a (subversive if loving) guiding hand.
But it was the promise of time (as represented by Ekko) healing old wounds, and the courage to feel, as she once had - a hopeful child with a hopeful future - that allowed Jinx to commit impetus to action.
Her blimp-ship in the climactic battle is a tribute to Isha - but also to the child in Jinx's own fractured psyche: Powder. She's letting both little girls have one last hurrah before she takes care of business - and cuts off the last oaths, duties and commitments that bind her to a past whose parameters she's outgrown.
Better still, she knows she's got the capacity to outgrow them.
That was the point of Jinx's arc with Isha, and why, no matter my misgivings on Isha's character herself, I found Jinx's trajectory towards a more nurturing and fun-loving figure more life-affirming and positive than the straightforward 'Daddy's Villain Goes Postal' shtick.
It's even why there's a minigame titled Jinx Fixes Everything. It's Jinx, struggling and stumbling, as she tries to rewrite her narrative, and finds in herself the capacity to do good.
To fix things that seem irreparably broken.
And to understand why she's reached this stage, we've got to let go of our tendency to project our own stuff onto Jinx (precious meow meow, unrepentant terrorist, manic pixie crazypants, edgy hot psycho) and acknowledge the purpose she plays in Arcane's thematic structure.
Jinx's character comes off as a death-seeker, and that's no shocker. She is hounded by terrible guilt and loss. She's got blood on her hands, and ghosts on her heels, and no matter what she does, she can't seem to be rid of them. Her inner mind's fractured, her mannerisms ooze pure chaos, and she seems a creature of pure feral impulse and no mercy.
That's the Jinx we're accustomed to seeing in S1 - except that's also both the front she's most likely to put on during that timeline, and the persona that is necessary for her to inhabit to survive, as Silco's daughter and his top enforcer.
Then Silco kicks the bucket, she symbolically fulfills his dream by shooting at the Council HQ, she accepts that she must inhabit this path of shadows and loneliness (as symbolized by her starkly decorated chair in the tea party scene), she accepts the fragmented push-and-pull between past and present, and...
And now what?
Silco's given her a semblance of direction for six years, and he's gone. Vi, the sister she'd hoped would return, and whom she'd hinged so many childishly idealized hopes on, is herself traumatized, and afraid of what her sister's become.
Jinx has her shadows and her loneliness. Jinx is traumatized. Jinx is suicidal.
But Jinx is still, whatever else, alive.
And all living things need connections.
That's why we as the audience enjoy her little found family dynamic with Isha and Sevika. It's Jinx, taking the first tentative steps to reach out to people beyond Silco and Vi, and realizing, wow, she enjoys the pay-off.
And all throughout S2, we see Jinx growing more and more comfortable in this newfound space - even jealously guarding it at the expense of Zaun's liberty, and Silco's wishes, because she can't bear to lose what she's found.
And what she finds empowers her enough that, when Warwick shows up, she's actually willing to reach out to Vi, and call upon their family connection, because Jinx is learning the value of bonds, not as baling hooks of guilt, but as buoys to carry her forward.
That's the story Jinx's relationships serve to tell in S2. Each one shapes the choice she makes in the finale. Until she learns to accept the past (Vi), to lay the monsters to rest (Silco and Vander/Warwick), forgive herself (Caitlyn) trust that time heals all wounds (Ekko), and hope for happier new beginning (Isha), she'll never trust herself enough to just seize the chance.
Jinx's culminating arc is not about death, much less self-erasure. It's about resurrection, and embracing the sublime chaos of a freed mind, and a lightened spirit. That's what she craves beyond simple death, and what her baptism by fire, blood and riverwater, has been about.
Each trial grinds her down into someone else. Someone new.
Someone closer to who she is meant to be, rather than who she's expected to be.
That's why she's so glad to make the sacrifice for Vi. She's not dying as an act of self-immolation. She's giving her sister - the one who's proven she'll never give up on her - the ultimate gift, and showing Vi that she deserves to live.
She needs Vi to live, so Jinx, the persona, can finally die.
"He (Silco) didn't make Jinx. You did."
She's basically saying, "I love you, I will always be with you, but you are no longer responsible for my actions. Please move forward with your life, and grant me the choice to do the same."
It's two sisters embracing everything they've meant to each other, acknowledging the pain weighing them down on both sides, and welcoming the new so they can each slough off old paradigms and live life as a whole person - or at least take steps to remembering what wholeness feels like.
That's the reason the show's final shots linger on the Hexgate tunnels, Jinx's monkey bomb, and the aircraft.
It's the show's way of reminding us that Jinx has ascended to a different version of her identity - one removed from the past that haunted her. It's Jinx, finally striking out alone, away from the sister whose memory she clung so desperately to, and who was, in turn, horrified by her hand in making Powder a monster (perceived guilt or real, fandom may debate ad nauseum) due to past mistakes and abandonment.
The ending of Arcane isn't tragic. It's deeply hopeful, and serves as a reminder that no matter how damaged you think you are, and no matter how monstrous the world finds you, there are still ways to come back to yourself - or to walk the path toward a new you.
Jinx is symbolized by crows. Jinx is shown with firelights emerging from her mouth. Jinx is depicted holding a torch like Janna ushering in the winds of change.
Thematically, Jinx is change.
And the best way she can embody that change is to write her story, and make it her own.

what made season 1 so stunningly good was that every scene could be explained with stuff that happened on screen.
Why did Vi know where to find Vander after Silco took him? well of course because of Ekko who was established in the first few minutes of the first episode to be the character to be on look out.
Why did Powder follow the others to the abandoned building? why because she wanted to feel useful, she wanted for her stuff to work and she wanted to help. She wanted to not be the Jinx. This was all established through character moments that were natural and normal human interactions.
Why did Mel invest in Jayce? Why because first of all her own mother sent her away so seeing Jayce's mother stand up for her son must've hit her. And we see her talking about having to find new investments. Of course she would. He sounds interesting enough. Why not try it? If it doesn't work banishment is still on the table.
Why did Viktor help Jayce? Because he didn't want to stand in Heimerdingers shadow as just an assistant anymore. He was sick and knew the problems of the undercity first hand, he wanted to help. Of course he would, if there was a chance hextech could do it.
Why did Marcus continue to help Silco even after Graysons death? Why, because of his daughter or course. He could be threatened, molded and used. He wanted to establish big things, and was hasty in his youth, and we see 1. Silco exploit that and 2. Marcus regret that.
Why did a shimmer induced Huck help Caitlyn out? Why because as early as the very first episode in Vanders first speaking scene he gets help from Vander and well why wouldn't he then show that help for Vi, knowing he can?
literally every scene makes sense, everything can be explained with stuff that we SEE in the show. There isn't anything "off screen" or just not there.
Now tell me
Why did Caitlyn suddenly switch sides again in season 2 act 2? Why and how did Mel know that her brother wasn't actually her brother? Why did she know how to solve the puzzle? Why is Viktor suddenly floating in the universe? Why does Ambessa just ignore her daughter being abscent outside of that one throw away line? Why do Maddie, Loris and Isha exist? Every chatacter existed for a reason that wasn't just Plot even if they sometimes were just for Plot in season 1. But Maddie, Loris and even ISHA for gods sake, really are just Plot. Isha not as much as Maddie and Loris and thank god for that but still, her character, while I still hope it isn't true, existed to die and further Jinx's pain.
it's just so ugh
Edit: A lot (and I mean a LOT) of people have told me how Kino did make sense and I agree with that now. Though I stand firm with my opinion that we should've gotten to know him before so we could have figured it out even easier with Mel, there were actually signs I didn't notice myself before. Thank's for that.
Plus I will not back down on the fact that Mel just knowing the solution to the puzzle "makes sense cause sHe WaS ShOwn TO Be gOoD WiTh PuZZLes" is stupid. Yes, I know she is smart and good with that. But that's like a whole different thing. It's such a leap I don't know how some of you don't see it.

What Would I Do Without You?

summary: you've been through hell and back with jinx, and despite it all, you couldn't leave her behind. (requested by anons) warnings/themes: HEAVY ANGST, character death (reader), blood, hurt no comfort harhar words: 2.6k notes: first time writing something so angsty like this haha i hope this is angsty enough... (this takes place when jinx rescued isha in prison) a repost cz tumblr is shti!
You could run.
You could run right now, escape with Isha and Sevika.
But-
How can you? You can't just leave Jinx alone—not now. Not after everything. Not when she's facing off against this monster.
Why didn't you listen?
Why did you have to play the hero?
Why, why, did you choose to stay?
“What are you doing?!” Jinx screams.
And that's the last thing you hear before you face off against the beast, watching as it launches itself at you-
At the last minute, you duck.
Too slow.
Too slow and too late.
In one quick motion, the beast tears into you.
It claws straight at your stomach-
You can feel the air leave your lungs.
You hit the ground.
Blood blossoms on your shirt.
But… it worked. The beast backed away. It fled.
You managed to scare it. You've saved Jinx. You've protected her. This is a victory.
Yet-
Why do you hurt so badly?
You look down, and your stomach is-
Oh.
Oh no...
Everything is red.
There's blood. There's blood everywhere.
Your blood.
You hear the sound of running footsteps. “NO!”
It's her voice.
“PLEASE, NO!” Jinx kneels next to you.
Your mind goes hazy, clouded by pain.
Arms grab you and move you into a sitting position. She's holding you. “Please, please,” she's sobbing as she puts pressure on the wound. “You're going to be okay. You're going to be fine.” You know that's a lie.
You cough. Red bubbles on your lips and slides down your chin.
“No, no, you're okay,” she repeats. “Don't go,” she sobs. “Don't you dare go. Look at me. Look at me.” She grabs your face, trying to angle your face up towards hers. “Please, stay with me. Stay. With. Me."
You feel so tired. You want to sleep.
But she needs you to stay here.
“Sevika!” she screams into nothingness, holding you tighter. “I need help, please come over here!”
The pain is still there, but the adrenaline is starting to wear off.
Your body hurts. Your eyelids flutter, but you force yourself to focus on her face.
She's crying. Her whole body is shaking. She's a wreck, but even like this, she's the most breathtaking you've ever seen.
You think that if you were to die, you'd want the last thing you ever saw to be her face.
She's still holding your head as she screams for help. “SOMEBODY—SOMEBODY PLEASE GET OVER HERE!”
Your body is getting cold. You can hear your pulse, thump, thump, thump, thump, in your head.
There's an arm around your back, supporting you as you slowly slump against her. Your head rests on her chest, and you can hear her heart beating loudly.
“I'm scared,” she whimpers. “I'm so scared.”
She is scared.
She's scared that she'll never taste your lips, never feel your breath on her neck.
She's scared that she'll never again feel your fingers on her hip, or your hands on her waist, or your face in her hair.
She's scared that you'll never hold her close, or tease her, or say her name in a way that makes her heart flutter.
She's scared that this is her last moment with you.
“Jinx.” You call her name one last time, her heart breaking when she hears how labored your voice is. It sounds so unlike you.
“No, no, don't say my name like that,” she begs. “Don't say my name like that—it can't be. Please, it can't be.”
She's crying, her tears fall onto your face. You taste saline and sweat and sadness.
You look into her eyes. Those beautiful eyes, full of tears. The eyes that made your heart pound faster and faster whenever you met her gaze.
You think of her face, her laugh, her smile. You think of her hand in yours and the way she looks in the light of dawn. You try to remember her smell, her voice, her skin.
You know this is probably the last time you'll ever be this close to her.
You love her so much.
You try to reach up and touch her face, to wipe away her tears. Your muscles protest and scream at the movement. But you try, anyway.
She catches your hand, presses it against her cheek. Her skin is warm and soft, and you memorize the feeling of it. You hope you'll always remember how her face feels.
“I love you,” you manage to say.
Her lower lip trembles. “What?”
“I love you.”
“No, no, no… don't say that,” she cries. “Don't say that. You're staying right here. You aren't going anywhere.”
She can't let you go. Not like this. Not after she just got you. Not after being so close to a life together. Not after finding someone who loves her so much.
You'd give anything for a few more minutes together. An hour, a day, a week.
You want to stay with her.
You want to stay and be with her and see her grow into the woman you know she'll be. You want to watch those eyes light up at a joke and see her smile. You want to sit by her side as she laughs and talk to her for hours. You want to hold her, for as long as you can, and tell her you love her.
You try to muster a smile. “It's okay,” you whisper. “I'm here, right now. I'm… I'm not going anywhere,” you lie.
She nods. She tries to wipe away her tears.
“Please don't cry. You're too pretty to cry.”
She scoffs as she smiles through her tears. You love her like this. Even just hearing her scoff, even if she's upset, makes you happy.
“I'm a mess,” she says. “I'm a crying, snotty mess.”
“I'll love you anyway.”
“Don't say that,” she pleads. “Don't say that, please.”
“Why?”
Her voice breaks. “If you keep saying things like that, I'm not going to be strong enough to let you go.”
“You won't have to.”
“Don't say that either,” she whispers. “Don't make promises you can't keep.”
“I'm right here.” You try to speak louder. “I'm not going anywhere.”
“Stop. You don't know that.”
And you don't. But you want to believe it. Oh, god, if anything, you want to be right.
You reach up again, brush the hair from her face. You try to be gentle so she won't notice how much it's hurting you to move at all.
“Please tell me a story,” you breathe. “Please. I want to hear your voice.”
“What do you want me to say?”
“Anything… anything at all.”
She takes a deep breath, lets it out slowly, and bites her lip in thought. “Okay,” she says after a moment. “I… I have an idea. Do you want to hear it? It's a story, if—if that's okay.”
You slowly nod and take her hand. She's shaking so hard. You run your thumb over her knuckles.
“When I was a little girl,” she starts quietly. “I used to watch the stars. They were so pretty… I'd stay up past my bedtime, just sitting by the window and trying to find the brightest ones in the sky. I always looked for that one star, and I knew I could find it no matter what time it was. I know it's silly…”
It doesn't feel silly to you. You like that she's talking, and even if it's a dumb story, just hearing her is making you feel better.
“I—I wanted to know if there were worlds up there. I didn't know about planets and stars yet, so I'd sit there in my room and imagine all these worlds, full of people who had entire lives I couldn't dream of.”
Closing your eyes, you focus on the sound of her voice.
This is the last time you'll get to hear her talk. The last time you'll get to see her. The last time you'll get to hear her voice. The last time you'll feel her touch. The last time you'll get to be with her.
You smile.
Despite the pain.
You smile.
Even as things start to grow dark.
You smile.
Because even though it won't be for much longer, you know she's still out there.
And she will find her way through this, because you know she can.
Even without you.
“Whenever I couldn't fall asleep,” she continues, “I'd look at the stars and imagine what it was like to live there and what people there were like. I liked to think people on the other worlds would look up and see the same stars and wonder the same things, just like I was. I wanted to see those stars and know that, even if I was by myself in my room, I wasn't really alone.”
“I wanted to know what it was like to explore those other worlds,” Jinx murmurs. “What it was like to be one of those people, with real adventures and fun and families. No rules, just… freedom.”
She keeps talking and talking and talking and-
She notices your hands. Cold. No.
Her hands are shaking, but she reaches out. She reaches for your cheek, caressing it as her fingers tremble. Her hand trembles, and she can't focus on anything but the fact that she's touching your skin, that she's touching you-
She feels the blood on her fingers, trickling down her hand, but she pushes that out of her mind. She doesn't care. You're the most important thing. Always.
She watches your chest, your stomach, waiting for a twitch, a breath, anything to show her that you're still here. That her worst nightmare isn't happening right in front of her eyes.
But there's nothing.
She presses her ear to your chest. Come on, she thinks desperately. Come on, please.
Silence.
Her fingers fumble to find your pulse on your neck.
Nothing.
Her world collapses around her.
No.
No, not like this.
Tears blur her vision. She blinks them away, trying to fight off the tears so she can see you. Can't see you. She doesn't want to. She can't. Not now.
One minute.
Just one more minute, that's all.
Just a few more seconds.
Please.
There's a pressure growing in her chest. It's so tight, it's hard to breathe. She can't breathe. Why can't she breathe? She needs to breathe. She needs to breathe, she needs to breathe, she can't stop crying, she can't stop because you're-
No, no, no. Don't think it, don't think it, don't think it-
“Hey, c'mon,” she says. “This isn't funny. Wake up.” She grabs your shoulders, shaking you. “Wake. Up.”
You're not moving. You're not talking. You're just-
Cold, limp. Nothing's different.
Please, not like this.
“You can't do this.”
Please.
“You have to wake up.”
Please!
“You have to wake up.”
Please, please, please, please.
“You don't just—you don't just get to do this to me!”
This isn't real.
It can't be real.
She closes her eyes.
She reopens them, looking down at your body.
It's real.
“Please wake up! I need—I need you, please.”
She's begging you, to the wind, to the moon, to the stars, that maybe if she pleaded hard enough, hard enough to the whole universe itself, maybe fate would be on her side just this once.
But fate was never on her side.
Life did this to her, it took everything she had and loved and was precious, it took away the only person she knew loved her. Life wasn't good, it was cruel and cold and harsh, and it was taking away everything she had. It was taking everything.
She hates this.
She hates what life was doing to her, what it had done to her. She wants to scream and pull her hair out. She wants to burn the world down and scream at the top of her lungs, at life, at the whole universe, begging it to bring you back.
Just. Bring. You. Back.
How many times had she watched you laugh, watched you smile, and done something as simple as breathing? How often had she watched you speak and talk and joke about something?
How many times had she told you she loved you, how many hours had you lost track of just the two of you talking? How many good moments had the two of you had that she would never be able to experience again?
It had been taken away from her.
You'd never laugh or smile again, that beautiful voice of yours is only a memory now.
And it hurts.
It hurts so much to think about how she's never going to hear your voice. How she's never going to see you walking around the hideout again. She'll never be able to see the smile you give every time she says something stupid.
She'll never be able to hold your hands, to kiss you, to lay her head on your lap. She'll never get to hear you laugh or feel your hands on hers.
She loved you. Every piece of you.
Every smile.
Every laugh.
Every word.
Every tear.
Every kiss.
Every touch.
Every moment.
Every single time.
Every single time you were there for her.
Every single time that you'd given her the best hugs when she'd cried on your shoulder.
Every single time the two of you slept on a small couch just so she could feel safe.
Every single time you'd hold her in your arms.
Every single time you talked her out of a bad mood.
She'll never get to have those again.
She'll never get to experience all of those wonderful, beautiful things again.
And she wants to do it one more time.
One more time to hear you laugh. One more time to feel you put your arms around her. One more time, she wants you to tell her everything is going to be alright. To take her face in your hands, look into her eyes, and say that.
Just one more.
Because what would she do without you?
How would she go on living without you when you were the person who had kept her going for months?
For the longest time, you were the one person that she trusted. The one person that she felt safe with.
Without that, what was the point?
She can still remember the first time she met you. She can still remember the butterflies in her stomach each time she saw you, the way her heart raced whenever you spoke to her. She can still remember that first, awkward kiss, how you held her close in your arms afterwards and didn't let go.
She can still remember the first time the two of you had said, “I love you.”
It was so hard for her to say it because she hadn't felt loved in a long time. And she's nervous, she's scared. But you spoke first, you pulled her close.
It was a whisper, a quiet “I love you” spoken in her ear. And then she started crying, she turned and buried herself in your arms.
I love you.
She'll never hear those words again.
But she can still remember what you sounded like.
That had to be enough.
That has to be enough.
Those three words have to be enough for her.
They have to be.
But they weren't.
Because now, you are gone.
“I love you too,” she murmurs. “So much-”
But there's no one to hear it.
She closes her eyes again, letting the tears roll down her face.
This is what love is, she thinks.
This is what loving someone does to you.
She'd never hated something so much in her life.
“How am I supposed to live without you?”
notes: forgot that singed is literally right there… (might write pt2)

》VIKTOR
Viktor is the first person to immideatly notice the slow shift in your eating habits, yet doesn't confront you about it immideatly. Instead, he simply observes you for a moment to make sure what he was seeing was correct since he obviously didn't want to assume anything... but it was hard for him to ignore how unhealthy it was becoming.
You were trying your best to hide it from him, perhaps out of guilt or simply subconsciously, but it did little to throw him off. He would never outright tell you to your face that he knew and would try to correct your eating by making you have your meals with him. He always has an excuse as to why you should, and thankfully, you can never say no to him, but even that doesn't help in the long run.
When things get too out of hand and your methods become too self-destructive, he finally finds the courage to sit you down and stage an intervention. His approach is gentle and understanding, as he guids you through the next steps and comforts you as much as he can.
He'll compliment you and give you all the reassurance needed during your recovery. Viktor knows that you still have a long way to go, but he isn't going anywhere and wouldn't dream of letting you go through this alone. He's there for you and makes sure you know that as well.
》SILCO
He only noticed that something was seriously wrong when you lost too much weight in a dangerously short amount of time. It wasn't unusual for people in Zaun to be a little malnourished due to their circumstances, but never this much. Especially not when you were dating a drug lord who could afford all types of food.
And so, he just bluntly confronts you about it, never the type to beat around the bush anyway. But he'll still be gentle and careful, the worry clear in his voice as he wonders if it's a physical issue. What he didn't expect, however, was you breaking down and telling him all about your problems, and thankfully, he listened and acted on them.
Your recovery is strictly supervised by him, and he makes it a point to take every meal together. The only way to leave the table is by eating every crumb he gives you. But that's not the only thing he focuses on. From what he understood, the issue came from deeply rooted insecurities inside you, which made him compliment and reassure you often. He may not be the best with words, but it's clear that he means it well which helps.
Silco doesn't entirely understand why you have an eating disorder, but he's nothing short of supportive and caring despite his reputation. He doesn't want you to hurt yourself, or even worse, die on him after all.
》JAYCE
He noticed your self-esteem issues getting worse and worse as time went on, which immideatly alerted him. Jayce knew that there was definitely a bigger issue at hand than simple insecurities and, therefore, at first attempts to just uplift you with compliments and praise. But he isn't foolish enough to believe that that would make everything go away.
Eventually requesting to talk to you, the man sits you down for a long talk about your disordered eating habits and asks you if there is something or someone making you feel bad about yourself. All you really need to do is confide in him, and he'll take it from there, determined to make everything right again.
Jayce takes makes dinner for the both of you that you share together, even going as far as to carefully feed you himself when necessary. He praises you for every plate you finish and for every therapy session you complete. He's just so proud of you!
He definitely makes more time for you in his rather busy schedule, just to make sure that you don't fall back into your disorder. The man wants you to be healthy and happy no matter how much work he misses. You're worth that.
》Ekko
Due to how busy he is as a Firelight, it takes him a moment to notice anything wrong with you. He's become so secure in knowing that nothing could hurt you under his wing, without realizing that it was you who was the "enemy" now. Or rather your disorder. And so when he does come to that said realisation, his heart drops and he immideatly takes action.
He immideatly intervenes you by making you sit down and talk out about what exactly triggered this extreme shift in eating habits. Hearing you mention your struggle with your appearance and weight made his heart ache, as he reiterates how much he loves you and thinks you're perfect. Ekko promises to help you, too, one way or another.
Due to your lack of proper medical resources, however, he comes up with a makeshift plan that helps with your recovery. He takes every meal with you and makes sure you know you're loved and appreciated by everyone in the hideout. You're allowed to take space and wants you to know exactly that.
Ekko is proud to see your progress and praises you every chance he gets. He wants to be at your side forever, no matter how you look like.

reuniting with jinx <3
everyone... that was quite the rollercoaster. but, i choose to believe that jinx is alive. i'm not ready to let go of arcane for a good while, and I'll do my best to upload fics more often, especially with the holiday breaks coming up too, so reel in whatever arcane requests you have! i write for vi, caitlyn, and jinx. i do take smut requests for these characters too if you guys would like to request some...
obviously though, jinx wouldn't leave without finding her amazing gf though... right??
summary: jinx surprises you while you're grieving, and you both escape and go elsewhere.
warnings: angst at the beginning, season 2 act 3 spoilers, kissing, emotional, lots and lots of fluff, I PROMISED A HAPPY ENDING AND DELIVERED
you couldn't believe it. your whole body crumbled to the ground as vi told you the devastating news.
"I'll tell you one thing," vi tried to quip, a small smile on her face, "she went out with a bang."
vi explained that she heard an explosion sound when jinx fell down the vent, and how she guessed she had set off one more bomb. you take vi close to you, hugging her tightly.
"she really did love you, you know." vi admitted, "i think she's just had a lot come her way. and i can't say I'm the most innocent in that realm myself."
you left vi to continue staring at the fireplace, about to leave and go to jinx's workshop, hoping to take a few things to remember her by. you see caitlyn looking at the vent diagram, studying it closely. how could she possibly studying the place where your beloved girlfriend died? you knew that caitlyn had grown to not hate jinx anymore, so you decided to just leave it at that.
after leaving the kiramann mansion, you traversed back to zaun, thoughts racing through your head. had you not done enough? loved her enough? given her a reason to live? you wanted to scream as loudly as you could, and let whatever you were feeling out.
you finally made it to where jinx had her things, and you took a deep breath before entering. this was it.
the once lit-up place was darker and worn-out in her eyes. the once neon, bright-colored place seemed to be dark and empty now. like you without jinx. a tear rolled down your face as you picked up small tools and things, even parts of a flower she was making for you out of scraps. you sat on the floor, looking up at the ceiling, trying to make sense in your head of what you should do next.
"did you really think i was gone, hun?" jinx questions, right behind you. your entire body leaps at the sound of her voice. it can't be.
"jinx?" you ask, shooting your head up and turning around.
"did you really think i was gonna die that easily? now stop moping. we have to get on the hot air balloon."
shocked, you hug jinx quickly before shoving one thing you collected in your pocket. you both start running. hand in hand, you make a beeline in order to get on the next hot air balloon.
"you know what i realized? things aren't so great here, so why don't i just go somewhere else to do my thing? but, i knew i couldn't leave without you." jinx explains while running.
"how did you even get out?" is the only thing you manage to say.
"my shimmer, silly! i got the hell out and escaped through the air vents."
"and how did you get back to zaun?"
"simple hacking and tweaking of the hexgates. nothing special."
you both finally make it onto the airship, jinx holding your hand as you get on so you don't fall. she closes the door behind you.
"so. this is it. any last wishes before we leave forever?"
"my biggest one has been granted," you answer before pulling in jinx for a sweet kiss. you had missed her, as you hadn't seen her for a week or two with everything going on. jinx pulls away, explaining that you two had to go.
"you know, i've always wanted to drive one of these," jinx admits, steering the ship, "i have since i was very young." you notice a new sense of peace in her eyes as she drives the ship. she doesn't seem so... tortured anymore. in fact, she seems free of any past issues.
her newly cut hair blows in the wind, as you go up behind her and hug her waist, your head resting on her shoulder. no matter what the future held, you knew you were going to be happy. as long as jinx was there, you would be at peace.
"i love you," jinx says softly, taking one hand off the wheel to rest on top of yours.
"i love you too."

Hey chat...
I literally have so many scenarios in my head it's killing me
Could you do a scenario where the reader shields Isha from the blast (or whatever) which results in her on the verge of death. How will jinx deal with it? And how will she save her
(I'm trying to cope with the loss of my baby Isha 😞💔)
Sure! Here ya go but probably sucks, haven’t wrote one of these in a while! Enjoy!

You could only process what the girl was thinking when her small feet started running past you helping Jinx off the ground.
The familiar act was so hard to miss. It was like watching Powder all over again all those years ago the night everything went wrong.
You couldn’t handle it again.
“Jinx? Jinx- I’m so sorry.” You apologized to your lover on the ground. Jinx looked at you, confused with her face having splatters of blood drops. But she was so confused. What were you sorry for?
It only clicked when she saw you running after Isha into what she knew she would never get you back from.
“No- no!” Jinx cried out, getting up with the look of horror on her face when you ran. She tried reaching for you like you did her all those years ago, only to fall short. She lost you.
She lost you before you even got to the girl.
Isha was right within your grip, tears falling from your face as you knew you wouldn’t be coming back home to your lovers and your bed.
“Isha!” You yelled, reaching for her as she kept running, shoving gemstone after gemstone into Jinx’s gun.
“(Name)! Isha! No!” Jinx cried, trying her best to get to the both of you as Isha slid to the ground, moving just like Jinx taught her to as she finally got to Vander.
Jinx was caught by Vi, crying and blubbering as her heart and chest constricted at the thought of you leaving her with her mind.
What was she gonna do? She couldn’t fix this once it was done.
Isha had barely mimicked Jinx back at her, the little finger gun motion breaking your head. Isha wasn’t dying. This wasn’t how she was gonna say goodbye.
Isha lifted the gun to Vander, and by the look on his face as he saw you nearing you could tell he had no control over this. Just like back then.
Isha had barely closed her eyes, and you saw the smile on her face. She looked almost content to die. Like it was a release. You felt bad for taking it from her.
She barely pulled the trigger when you grabbed her, pulling her to your chest and curling around her.
Isha’s eyes shot open, panicked for a split second as she tried to push you away and out of there. But you were older. Stronger. The way you wished when you were younger to be like Vi.
You barely managed a smile to Isha as you held her, and even years later she could still hear your voice and see your smile as you whispered in her ear.
“You’ll be okay. Take care of her for me, will ya?”
The gun went off.
And you were gone.
The reaction was immediate. Isha didn’t feel you anymore. She was cold, your arms around her gone as she finally opened her eyes after praying to whatever god there was that you were okay.
Nothing.
Not anything of you was left behind.
All she heard was Jinx’s wailing, and her little heart dropped to her stomach at the realization.
You were gone.
Because of her. Isha took you from Jinx.
“Isha! Why- why would you do that?!” Jinx cried, even though she knew you’d hate to hear the words coming from her mouth but she couldn’t stop herself.
She pushed Vi off of her, running to Isha out of relief and anger as she searched for you to come up with nothing.
She grabbed the girl by her shoulders, crying and blubbering as she sobbed.
“Why would you- (Name)?! (Name)!” Jinx cried, yelling it out as she searched for you.
Isha had no idea what to do with Jinx’s anger but cry with her as she felt your absence.
Jinx wasn’t able to process this, and Vi could only watch as the one thing her sister held dear to her heart from when they were kids, you, was gone. Just like that.
Jinx’s sobs turned to wails as she felt her heart being ripped from her chest. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be.
You were supposed to be okay. Vander was supposed to come back. They were supposed to stay and be happy. Vi could even be there.
Jinx had her family back, and now it was all gone.
Her wails kept going, she gripped onto Isha cause she would be damned if she let her out of her sight for her to be taken to.
Her head fell to Isha’s shoulder, the girl's cries mixing with her own as Isha’s little fingers gripped onto her.
Jinx and Isha crumbled together on the floor, crying and sniffling and sobbing. What happens now? What comes next?
How can anything come next…when you’re gone?

(I started sketching this design nearly immediately after season 2 ended but just now had some time to clean it up so. Excuse me rambling out loud here)
TLDR; I actually really liked the initial design + direction for Warwick-Vander (I <3 human faced werewolves)! But the show design kinda felt like a transitory state between Vander and Warwick to me, so I wanted to try my hand at blending his Arcane design with his in game design. Like a "what would he look like if the transformation kept going" kinda thing. There's a few things I'm not fully settled on, but Im mostly satisfied :)
(rambling under the readmore, its 3 am as i type this lol)
When season 2 first started, I sort of had it in my head that the narrative would have Vander "die" for Warwick to finish the transformation into his final form, forcing Vi and Jinx to finally say goodbye together. Well! That didn't happen lol. I mean. Vander did "die", but whatever was left behind isn't really Warwick. I'm not quite sure what they were going for, either with him or with how Jinx "dies", its all just a little messy when i feel like there was a more obvious narrative conclusion.
Visually i think the final design in the show is cool removed from context, but it doesn't really make sense to me in regards to the story. Like. Warwicks whole thing is that he curbs his violent impulses by killing "bad guys" in the undercity. League lore is a hot fucking mess and I don't even go there so I get that they (the writers) were playing fast and loose but I can see why so many Warwick fans were less than pleased with where the show leaves him, because it doesn't really feel like the same character outside of his initial experimentation.
In my own idea palace, Jinx fakes her death and leaves Warwick to be Zaun's new mascot. Having this literal monster that eats bad guys and saves innocent people in the process become a new symbol for Zaun feels like a no brainer to me. Imagine the iconography they'd make for this thing! And it brings Vanders whole schtick back around; he still "dies" but the Literal Memory of him lives on in Zaun, still protecting the people he cared about most. You get the bittersweet ending of Vi and Jinx having to move on because hes not really their dad anymore, but their memory is what keeps Warwick "human", still with Zaun even if Vi is doing Piltover shit and Jinx is off exploring the world.
Idk! I know the implication that Jinx faked her death is there, but whatever happens to Warwick seems to be like they didnt really have the time to fully explore the ideas they were going for, so a couple characters just got kinda left floating at the end there. If Ekko and Jinx werent going to run away together, I wanted to see Ekko befriending Warwick so they could fight to make Zaun a better place.
I have more coherent ideas than this but it's 3 am when im typing this so sorry if im not eloquent enough to properly explain what im thinking. Ekko and his weird dog that used to be his uncle. Imagine.
#fan art#arcane#arcane spoilers#still tagging even tho were months out and i dont think anyone cares just in case lol#warwick#vander#i need to be so clear i dont play league i have never played league i just care about werewolf adjacent monsters in all pieces of media#its my sisyphean burden. my eternal curse forever#and i was on the 'vander is warwick' theory bullshit literally 3 years ago#i was not satisfied with his narrative conclusion in season 2 and unfortunately i have hands#i KNOW this is just slightly to the left of my own OC werewolf design leave me ALONE#im not tagging this as league#anyway. goodnight

Roach verse idea:
So Sevika needed a raise. Silco needed a Santa for The Last Drop and Jinx.
The solution was obvious.
Now she’s in a hot ass suit, Roach is watching her from the bar whilst Jinx is just side-eyeing her all like ‘I KNOW ITS YOU’ like. Then with a lot of convincing, Jinx tells Santavika what she wants for Christmas.
Now Silco has his list of items and Sevika gets a raise to spoil her wonderful, lovely, beautiful girlfriend. All is well.
fucking hilarious
men and minors dni
all she fucking wanted was a winter bonus.
ever since you came around, the last drop has been getting increasingly festive with each holiday that passes. it's just the kind of person you are, everywhere you go you make people happy. this year, you even managed to convince silco to have a christmas party-- shutting the bar down and decorating it for the evening; a gift exchange planned and cookies baked for the gang.
sevika adores you for it, and for a million other reasons. and she wants to spoil you endlessly. but silco pays like shit, and jinx is always stealing sevika's pocket change before she can stash it in her change jar.
so, she asked for a bonus to close out the year.
she'd say she deserves it. this year alone, she put three competing shimmer operations out of business, managed to rig two piltover elections, and she killed like eight people for silco. or was it nine...?
either fucking way-- sevika's determined to get her money.
unfortunately for her, silco's in his own holiday predicament.
jinx, almost eleven now, has become increasingly suspicious of santa claus. it's not that the girl ever really believed-- but now that she's a sweaty, hormonal tween, she no longer feels comfortable sitting on some old man's lap and whispering all her secret wants in his ear. so, she refused to go to the promenade with silco this year to see santa.
so silco has no idea what to get his daughter for the holiday-- and he's desperate for a clue.
which is how sevika finds herself here, in an itchy white beard and a red suit, glaring at the gang as they laugh at her from her perch in her 'santa seat.'
she's gonna fucking kill silco. after he pays her, too.
"where's that jolly smile, mr. claus?" lock asks, approaching sevika with a grin. she glares up at him.
"i'm not letting you sit in my fuckin' lap."
"relax." lock laughs. he reveals a glass of whiskey from behind his back. sevika sighs in relief, taking the drink from lock. "where's your mrs. claus?"
"upstairs with jinx. the kid's dressing as a christmas tree, or something."
lock cackles.
you and jinx join the party eventually, jinx covered in green tinsel, ornaments braided into her hair. you burst into laughter at the sight of sevika, and she sighs.
"look at you, baby!" you laugh.
sevika grunts. "come sit on my lap before i die of humiliation."
you giggle, happily skipping over to her to wrap your arms around her shoulders. "how'd silco talk you into this?"
"i'm getting a winter bonus." she says. you scoff.
"what the fuck? where's my winter bonus?"
sevika chuckles. "baby, i'm spending the bonus on you."
"well what am i gonna spend on you?!"
sevika darts forward to kiss you, forgetting the beard she's wearing. you both groan and sputter, spitting white hairs out of your mouths.
"alright, santa baby. you stay here. i'll go get us some drinks and send jinx over."
sevika rolls her eyes. "this whole thing is fucking ridiculous. you have to know what she wants, why don't you just tell silco?"
"'course i do, but i also think this whole thing is the funniest thing that's happened this year and it's tradition."
sevika tries her best to act annoyed, but she can't keep from smiling when you shoot her a wink and blow her a kiss as you walk away.
jinx is glaring at sevika the entire time she's in her lap.
"this is fucking stupid." she mumbles. sevika chuckles.
"you're not the one wearing the fake beard. just hurry up and make your old man happy so we can get this night over with."
"fine. this year i want an updated encyclopedia set, a new microscope, and i wanna be able to say 'fuck' around silco." she lists off.
sevika cackles. "alright. i'll see what i can do, kid."
jinx chuckles and tugs on sevika's beard. "thanks old man." she mutters. "aren't you gonna 'ho ho ho?'"
sevika glares at jinx and the girl cackles, scrambling out of her lap before she can grab her.
just as she's about to get up and take off this ridiclious fucking costume, you plop back down in her lap, wearing a new outfit.
sevika's heart soars.
you're wearing a matching santa hat and a little red apron with fuzzy white lining. you're the perfect mrs. clause, and you've brought her whiskey.
"please help me get this beard off so i can kiss you." she whines. you laugh, reaching up to pull the fake beard off her chin. sevika sighs in relief, itching her face before reaching forward and downing her whiskey.
"better?" you ask.
sevika just smiles at you, putting her glass to the side so she can pull you in for a kiss with both hands.
you groan against her lips, flinging your arms around her shoulders and moving to straddle her legs.
across the bar, silco shrieks; scandalized. "you're supposed to sit in santa's lap, not grind on it!"
ran, lock, and deckard erput into cheers at the sight of you two.
jinx ducks behind the bar to grab a glass of ice water to toss on the pair of you.

Jinx x Reader
warnings: you work for madam margot— that means you’re a sex worker. there's no sex but it's mentioned so if that’s not for you then please don’t read! (some) established relationship, pretty fluffy ngl
She was always adamant she knew what fucking was and how to do it, even though you never asked. Madam Margot affectionately called you a quick study, said it was a very useful skill, you never pressed on sensitive subjects. It ruined the mood. Jinx, however, was more of a friend than a client. She still paid for your uninterrupted time, often getting more of it so as to not ruffle feathers of her Chem Baron, Silco. He and Margot did not get along, and he liked you even less when he learned where Jinx's stipend was being drained.
She brought it up again today, joking about the birds and the bees. Her eyes fluttered here and there, hands fussing with the belongings around the room. She’s too jittery, you noted but didn't dare bring it up.
“We don’t have to do that, you know.” You assured softly, patting the empty space next to you.
Her braids tangle at her feet as she spins around, throwing each step awkwardly towards the bed.
“I know.” Her voice was quiet, a word you didn’t associate with Jinx.
“You... do have me curious, though.”
Her head lolls backwards as she laughs, flopping on the silk sheets beside you, “I have that effect on people. Go on, ask away!”
You lay on your side, head propped up by your elbow. Jinx’s smirk fades and her eyes begin to drift away from you again. You decide to mimic her instead and lay on your back, looking to the ceiling. A gesture she appreciated, you can feel the tension evaporate from her almost instantly.
“Why do you keep wasting your money? We don't have to hangout in a stuffy room when we go go enjoy the stuffy air outside.”
She makes a pfft noise with her lips like she’s annoyed. With a speed you weren’t prepared for, suddenly kicks her leg over yours. Hovering over you, she's at last able to hold your gaze. Her big blue eyes hold enormous sincerity but her brows are pinched in concern. Your amused smile flees from your face, replaced by your own worry.
"What's wrong?"
She shakes her head, teetering the edge of frustration, "You still don't get it."
"I want to," you whisper like it's a secret, "I just need you to tell me."
Slowly, so carefully slowly, your hands rest on her cheeks. The desired effect works instantly, Jinx's eyes shut and her body drops on top of yours. She mumbles into the sheets that you're a witch, making you laugh lightly. You can feel her smile against you as your hands relax on her back.
“I like you, dummy. I don’t know why, but I do... And I know if I buy your time, you have to pretend to like me too.”
Your heart twists uncomfortably tight.
"Jinx--"
You turn your head and find yourself nose to nose with her. The speech you'd made so many times in your mind shrivels up at the sight of her, words die on your tongue. Before you can try and summon them back, she renders them useless by crashing her lips against yours.
