To any Jewish people who want to share their thoughts:

I am working on writing a story. And one of the main characters is religious (other characters are too, she is just a bit more interested in her religion than some of the other ones). I have been learning a bit about Judaism (casually, and predominantly from blogs I follow), and so I thought instead of wholesale inventing a new religion I could have some representation for actual religious people that might read my book.

But the story is in a fantasy world, so I thought it would be kinda strange to just completely inject Judaism into it. Not to mention I’m not sure I’m at a point where I’d know how to fully incorporate a real religion into a made up world. So I thought, I could try to write this character with certain aspects of her religion that would feel meaningful to some Jewish people (obviously I wouldn’t be able to do it perfect for everyone due to the vast array of experiences). More vibes based, or like if she was in a real world AU she’d be Jewish.

My question is two parted. First, would anyone actually want that or would you rather I leave attempting Jewish characters for when I write a story based in this reality?

Second, if I were to do it what are some things that people would appreciate to see from such a character? Especially if there is an intersection of religion and transness.
