i like to think everyone has a colour associated with them, whether its just your fave colour or what you generally wear most of or what colour your bedroom walls are. i always associate the name sophie with dark blue, my mum is always a nice turquoise, i like to think my colour is a bright sunflower yellow.

Several Sentences Sunday (again)

Sharing a few sentences from another WIP (although, it's more a wisp of an idea than a proper WIP but whatever)

“You think you’re…cursed?” Lucy says. She flags down the bartender and orders two shots of whiskey.

Tommy can hardly believe it himself. “Uh huh.”

“Because—let me get this straight—you laid to rest the bones of a centuries old dead outlaw’s corpse. And you think that somehow upset his also centuries old dead outlaw lover?”

Tommy picks at the label on his beer bottle. “Well when you say it like that—”

“Tommy, there is no way to order those words that does not make me worry about you.”

When Tommy doesn’t reply, Lucy whistles. “Buckley sure did a number on you.”

Something I find deeply interesting about Percy setting Gwendolyn up as a spy in order to find the gods is that it comes on top of the layer of "I'm getting old".

Percy is constantly staring his mortality in the face and he is still so curious about the world. Which is a wonderful thing. Except. He is passing these curiosities on to his children. Going to the moon would be a fine thing to give them. But tasking one of them to find the gods? That is an obsession.

If this is what Percy wants for Gwendolyn, she is going to do it. She is going to hone her skills. She will get very close to her uncle Vax. She will meet gods and. Who knows what they will do with that information.

What is a human man going to do with the knowledge of the gods first reincarnation? Will he even live long enough to see their first resurgence? Will he funnel money to the gods and their parents. Some sort of Whitestone scholarship? Does he think something like that will matter once they come back to themselves?

i once had an anti tell me to stop sexualizing their trauma on a story i wrote that was a word for word retelling of my own actual trauma but with names changed and its been 2 years and i still cant stop thinking about that

Ah, yeah... Unfortunately a non-insignificant number of antishippers seem to genuinely believe they own the concept of trauma, so any story they read that they believe to be portrayed in a romanticized or sexualized light therefore must be romanticizing/sexualizing their trauma specifically.

I couldn't tell you the amount of times I've gotten the "stop sexualizing my trauma!!!!!!" or adjacent comments from antishippers that universally garner a response that basically boils down to

Like, bitch! I'm talking about my trauma! I literally did not even know you existed until you fucking commented!
