Ooooooooohhhh Anon,,,, Ooooooh, You have unlocked deep thoughts and long monologues.... have this piece of bullshit that I spat out in excitement

Isabeau:

Ah yes, dear Isabeau, my most beloathed <3 (self recognition in other /derogatory). He’s one of the characters I’ve written the most meta for that's actually about his character in the game. I love him and hate him in equal measures but that's not what I want to talk about today! I want to discuss his morbid humor and fascination, I suppose. Also his rather interesting character type and how that's displayed in the game, specifically through his morbid thoughts and discussion choices.

In the game we see plenty of times that Isabeau uses morbid word choices (killed them so that I could live friendquest quote) and brings up morbid discussion topics (what do we do if you die? What do we do if Bonnie dies?) that the others find disquieting. He also laughs at Siffrin’s time traveler joke, finds scary Siffrin attractive, and finds being paid attention too enough that they can harm you attractive. This brings me to my main point, which is that Isabeau is the cold scientist archetype character that tries to be the himbo fighter character. Of course we know that hes trying to hide himself behind the himbo character type, but the fact that he's analytic to a fault, morbid in almost every way, finds scary things attractive, and calls Changing killing his past self… this man is very much a scientist that was about to turn evil but decided friendship was the answer whose character was subverted into himbo fighter because those who are dumb are more liked than those who know things. It's interesting, and I think it’s one of the reasons I despise Isabeau POV fanfics. Most fanfics feel almost like his facade is him, and thats just not true and it bugs me so very much to read fanfics with his POV now. But! This isnt to say those fanfics aren’t well done! They are, I just find them lacking in canon Isabeau’s almost neutral analytical personality that was then filtered through therapy and self help books esque vibe. Fascinating character, hate him dearly for it though.

Misc thoughts:

I generally have a hard time nailing down everything I feel about him for a variety of reasons but I do want to say that I think he finds Siffrin’s big melt down appearance attractive after the whole thing blows over. I also think he doesn't have the best track record for what is okay to say or not? So he falls back on “I am dumb therefore I can say things that others find disturbing and frame it as something I just don't understand or misunderstood :)” which kind of backfires on him constantly because now no one really takes him seriously? I don’t know, I just find most smart characters have a hard time figuring out the social situation of certain things so they tend to either not care at all for tact or overthink everything and over compensate by not allowing themself to go for certain things. In this instance its him not being able to confess because he thinks he's bad for liking someone in a certain way and doesn't want to pressure them which backfires because he's otherwise a good communicator but failed hard with Siffrin. Speaking of, I don’t think hes ever gotten with anyone other than Siffrin. It took the world literally almost ending and a time looping induced trauma attack for him to confess he liked Siffrin, this man does NOT have game. So, lol, that kiss? Probably his first <3, RIP my man did not deserve that

Odile:

Strangely enough I don’t believe I have ever written a meta post for Odile? Or anything about her other than tags? So yeah, let's focus on her. She's a very honesty based character in a game literally about someone not being able to speak the truth, which is why I appreciate the sus route so much. She noticed something was wrong and went for it, leading her down rabbit holes best left untouched. Odile is a character that I truly think would have accidentally unleashed an eldritch horror on the quest if not for Isabeau stopping her. Mainly because she is smart but not academic smart, she's learned from her travels plenty of things that lend to real life experience but she's not much of an academic when it comes to how to get answers she wants (taking until the very last town to get a familytale while Siffrin took maybe three loops to do is. Certainly something!). Its fascinating, because if I were to actually describe her personality and how that lends to a character archetype I would say that she's a brawler character. Effectively, she and Isabeau are reflections of each other in a very specific way and I think about this often in her relation to the group. Its almost laughable how shes been put into this responsibility role of the group while Isabeau is off goofing around (and secretly plotting how to best respect his friends remains), shes not very good at knowing what is the best course of action and acts out in impulsive ways that harms others (Looking at you, hitting Trauma Big Siffrin moment) and that doesn’t… make her a good leader per say? I just find it funny, how others write her as someone who would go out of her way to research Siffrin’s home country and succeed when she barely succeeded in her own knowledge hunt. If anything, it would be Isabeau who would find the information and inform Odile rather than the other way round. I dunno, I just don’t think anyone is really considering the fact that she probably hasn’t set foot into a higher academic institution just based on her research skills.

Misc thoughts:

I’ve only seen one fanfic acknowledge the fact that Odile hit Siffrin? And did so in such a way that it hurt badly. I wouldn’t be surprised if it left a scar (which that little freak probably adores because he knows that it means he wont forget Odile ever again), alongside the others they gave themself. Speaking of said hurting, I don’t think it's really acknowledged how much Odile puts down Siffrin? Yes it's usually just a teasing moment here or there, but have yall thought of the fact that she compared Siffrin to an animal and has hit him? I think about this so much. I think about it when I'm trying to fall asleep sometimes. She did that to him, and he *remembers it,* he acknowledges it during act 5, he has that ingrained into his *soul.* I think people should write about it more, or at least acknowledge that Siffrin probably… doesn’t want to talk to Odile about feelings or be touched by her for a while? Honestly, if I was Siffrin’s position during the failed friendquest moments? I would have said worse. I would have done worse. Because can you imagine? Imagine with me, you just remembered that your country is gone, everyone you love either doesnt remember you or is dead, the only person who could possibly tell you anything is the man you must kill, and your family member is talking about how hard it is to be in the country her mother is from and not feel a connection to it. That you are both more than your heritage. I would start biting, kicking, fighting, hell I would probably find out what she looks like without her bun! I would be pissed. But yaknow, Siffrin is a nice fella and kind of only waited to go off the deep end when they were sure they wouldn’t be able to escape. Anyway, I think of Odile sometimes and get violently ill by the knowledge she no longer holds that would explain some of Siffrin’s reactions and word choices to her cause no matter what? She can’t take it back. She never even said it. It’s not even real anymore. God I love this game, it makes me feel sick.

Mirabelle:

Big ol’ sigh, yeah the-bitter-ocean if your out there I think about your tags on my Mira post a lot. The fandom doesn’t really get her do they? Most of the time I see people write her off as not very understanding or oblivious to other people’s feelings, which fair for romance (she didnt notice the very glowing sign of what I believe to be a ginger blushing but yaknow I understand as aro) but shes very good at knowing when someone isn’t feeling well? She has several unique dialogue options after Siffrin gets up from the field after looping which Odile does not have (despite EVERYONE ACKNOWLEDGING THEY’RE NOT OKAY), and asks after their wellbeing despite being in a constant anxiety attack and morality stress issues induced panic attack in the house. The only real big character flaw is a very typical shonen main character flaw which is that she is too trusting to a degree that it let Siffrin get away with almost destroying the world, Bonnie dying, and the others stepping all over her own feelings (not that any of these are her fault, but she did contribute to the lack of communication which lead to the loops. I love her, I do, but EVERYONE had a hand in Siffrin getting stuck in the loops). Her trust is also what led to the big fallout and slap she gives Siffrin during act 5, she was already giving her heart to him and the others and was constantly checking in during the adventure to make sure everyone was happy and okay with what was happening so the sudden switch from her POV is a huge betrayal of her trust in them. This is basically someone you were already on edge about hating you suddenly deciding that yes, they do hate you and everything you stand for because *they know.* No matter what you think about the situation, Mirabelle’s trust (her biggest character flaw) was thrown back into her face after she thought they were okay with her (not even a few weeks ago they said that this was the happiest they have ever been and she *remembers this fully and utterly*) and broke her heart with all her insecurities. It’s a very hopeless situation when you don’t have context, which means I don’t really blame her for slapping Siffrin, I just wish that it didn’t happen because as a Player I know the full context. Betrayal of trust… its a funny thing in this game, because it wasn’t a betrayal specifically from one POV but from the other it was. Fascinating! I despise it, I love it, it makes me sick.

Misc Thoughts:

Oooooh Mira we are in it now, This endgame of yours has left you with insecurities and trauma you didn’t think possible. I love her, I do, which is why I also have a great idea for a fanfic that involves her getting some VERY bad coping mechanisms <3 teehee. Careful what you wish for darling! Things go bad if you don’t take care of what you love. Anyway, I don’t think it’s weird to have Mira in outfits that are contrasting too heavily from her personality in the game? I dont know how to say this, but I think it’s a tad strange that I’ve seen roleswap aus/personality swap aus where Mirabelle is different via aesthetic? Because thats her whole religion? Sure she doesnt want to change but I don’t think she minds much clothing or aesthetic wise? In fact i think she considers that the safest option? So I dunno, I think people should dress her in goth and emo outfits more. Also I do think its a tad silly people don’t focus too much on her journey trauma and rather focus on her romance trauma, yall know that was just a distraction and not her main issues, right? Like yall know this game isnt romance the simulator, right???? RIGHT???? God Mira, you would hate that the fandom boils you down to your AceAroness, I just fucking know it.

Bonnie:

Who let this sassy small child into this story???? God, dearest Bonnie, the literal best party member Imo. I love them dearly, they are one of the meanest fucking assholes in the game I adore them. Yall think about the longstanding issues Siffrin has with touch and reaching out and how the rotten adults route fucking annihilates them into smithereens lol. I think about the fact that Bonnie has harmed Siffrin soooo much in the loops, it leaves me breathless because this small child has killed Siffrin twice, slapped their hands away when they tried to help them (for the first time in Bonnies POV!! Thats huge!!), and yelled at them multiple times about how awful they are. I do wonder what would have happened if the rotten adults route continued without looping? Who would have spoken up and who would have had to realize that something is WRONG with Siffrin in that moment? Would Bonnie backpedal when they realize? What was Siffrin’s facial expression right then? What happened? I just. God. Fuck. No one talks about this AT ALL in the fandom and it drives me insane. Despite everything, despite what was erased, what was unmade, the effects stayed and will continue to harm Siffrin. Do yall think about the idea that Siffrin probably doesnt reach out until Bonnie does post loops? I think about this so much, Bonnie has harmed Siffrin so many times it would kill them if they ever found out, and I desperately need them to find out. I also kind of,, just assumed that Bonnie would be keeping a keen eye on Siffrin’s eating and remind them to eat and drink water (even if I dont think Siffrin needs that) after the loops because its an easy way to help and have some control over situations? I dunno, I think Bonnie is a very complicated kid who has harmed and been harmed and no one will ever know just how much has been done and undone.

Misc Thoughts:

I still think Bonnie should be able to make and throw bombs post bomb memory. I just NEED Bonnie to throw a molotov at the King, fuck, it would be so funny. Also as a side note, I do think growing up Bonnie has to deal with a lot of untreated Trauma and probably reacts very similar to Siffrin before someone comments on the fact that they are just like him and suddenly they start going to a therapist about it, I do not think they would take it as a compliment for even one instance. They would get sick so fast and go, me and them? Similar? No. I have to go to get a doctor. I cannot be a Frin Jr. the world could not handle it. And suddenly they have the second best mental health of the group (first goes to Isabeau because Isabeau was already in therapy before the game, I just fucking know it <3) which makes everyone fucking jealous as hell because seriously? The Kid??? Damnit. But yeah I do think the fastest way anyone could get Bonnie to accept help is to compare them to Siffrin because they do have a Recognition of Self in the Other (derogatory) thing going on with Siffrin in the game, which is probably worse by the fact that they grew up with him as a role model. Everyone that knows them is like, oh my change your so lucky! The saviors are your family that must be so cool <3, and Bonnie is like. They make me to go to bed on time and force me to eat veggies what the fuck are you saying. Anyway yeah I love Bonnie so much, the meanest fucking kid in the game <3.

Siffrin:

Aaauuuggghhhhh, the one everyone is waiting for, the Siff of the Frin. Love this fucking idiot, but yeah lets talk touch and how the family has hurt them over the loops <3. Okay so straight out the gate, Bad touch! Isabeau pushing them away after they kiss him, which is very understandable because yaknow Isabeau could tell that was a desperation kiss and is not okay for either of them but! Holy shit! Siffrin, my dear friend that was probably the worst thing you could have done, but yeah that did leave its marks deeply in them so I will mark that down as harmed. Then we get the bad friendquests, which yeah Isabeau hitting them with the “I thought you were also trying” hurts more than I can physically say, but we’ll mark that down as two. Then Odile hits them, grabs their collar, sus quest bullshit, and general disdain for Siffrin lying about the stars we’ll mark down as four more which leads to six. Mirabelle slapping Siffrin and letting him get away with lying about his health we’ll put at 8. Bonnie pushing him into a tear, pineapple, slapping hands away, and yelling at them multiple times we’ll put at 12. Then there's the “like taming a wild animal” teasing which Ill put at 13, all of which is just off the top of my brain and I know there's more moments that hurt Siffrin deeply. Yaknow, looking at this, typing this, it seems a tad silly but. How else could I describe the never ending pain at knowing that most of these wont be acknowledged as bad for Siffrin as it was bad for the others? I dunno, I think about Siffrin giving everything up for the party and no one knowing exactly what they did because how could they? It’s gone. It’s not real anymore, not until Siffrin says it. I just. I dont know where I’m going with this but Siffrin as a character hurts me deeply, and I think it’s because no matter what happens Siffrin refuses to acknowledge when the others hurt him back. Just. Keeping the cycle going because they dont know how to break it, and they never have until they break first. I just think of this a lot. Him being stuck, in circles over and over.

Misc Thoughts:

I wanna chew him up and spit him out like a dog toy. No further comments (see my blog for further comments). ((I need to see a Self inflicted Achromatic animatic, pls, fuck plsssss))

LOOP:

Loop time!! Loop time! I am physically ill because of this beast. You all know that one fanart where it says “You Won!” and Loop is dry heaving? Thats me at literally any moment when I think about Loop.

I am a little shy to admit though that I didn’t catch their facade at first, mainly because I’m not very good at catching things like that at first? If a person acts a certain way, thats how they act! So Yeah, ya boy was confused by two hats lol. But afterwards I did do a bit of thinking and as I mentioned in a previous post i do think Loop is pretending/acting like how they remembered Siffrin acted like before the loops. Mira mentions that Siffrin is mean in teasing, enough so that it might have hurt if she didnt know that it was friendly teasing. Isabeau has a great monologue about his feelings on Siffrin before the loops, and Siffrin themself acknowledges some of their less than savory traits before the loops during the loops as well. This is to say, Loop is a fucking prick that tries to be floating and teasing in their comments while hitting where it hurts in just the right way that they can pretend that they mean something else. I genuinely think thats how Loop remembers themself before they were Loop, even if they got some things VERY WRONG. Of course, by the time they realize this it’s too late and that’s their personality now, which is kind of fucked up when you realize how much of their personality is them acting out a half remembered person who died many many many loops ago. But alas, such is the way of Loop.

Also if we think about Loop in comparison to Siffrin. Well. We get an interesting picture. But the thought makes me too ill to continue. But I will say loving someone so much you destroy yourself for them… I don't think anyone in the family would be happy about that really. Theres a difference between destroying yourself and destroying the world… I wonder why that is for them, what made the difference between self and the world. A fool, and the world. Hmm. Interesting. Anyway, Loop’s facade gets me everytime and I want to use them as a stuffed animal.

Misc Thoughts:

Yeah that STAR CAN NOT EAT OR DRINK, lol get rekted they cant even fucking get drunk. Now for some HCs, I do think that Loop would wear a promise ring, even if no one in this Vaugarde understands what that means. I just. Think that Loop wouldn’t be able to let go of Their Fighter. Hahaha! I don’t really wanna go further into detail about this rn but I AM THINKING… Loop is one of the saddest characters I have ever fucking had the audacity to love. No I will not take comments on this further lol. (Me loving Loop and Siffrin while disliking Isabeau? Call me an Isabeau Kinnie at the rate lol)

He comes home

pairing: Jason Grace x female!reader

author's note: Let me just say that if my man was talking came back with a girl next to him and he was almost acting normal, I would rip my hair out.

The reader would be seething, clenched teeth, hot cheeks, and everything.

He disappears out of nowhere, which you probably understood wasn’t his fault. You’ve been there from the very start since he came to Camp J. He had fully booked appointments with quests, no wonder he was gone one day: but you realized that it wasn’t the same. You felt this anxiety pooling in your chest, you knew this wasn’t the normal disappearance.

When he arrives with his so called “crew” you didn’t like either Piper or Annabeth. But you knew Annabeth wasn’t someone that would do anything, since she was Percys.

But even so, the thought of Jason settling down with others for six-fucking-months, made you want to absolutely go ballistic.

But you knew deep-down that he didn’t do it on his own, it was the same situation as Percy – it was against his will, and he had lost his memories.

But does he remember you?

That thought washed away when you saw the way he was acting stand-of-ish when he saw Reyna. So, he does remember, he remembers you.

It gave you some relief. But how were you going to make up for the time he was gone?

Based on the ever-so-serious facial expression on his face, the quest was not over. Not even close. You wanted to sigh and almost act immature about it, but it would do you no good.

Maybe even the reader would do impulsive things just tog et his attention. Jason is very analytical with his feelings, to the point where he rationalizes them – so he wouldn’t react much after the first time, its almost like he shuts off his emotions just to protect himself.

But he would have to take the convo private and talk to !reader, to get a clearer understanding of the situation but also your feelings present.

He wants you to be the feeler in the relationship. While he is the cool-headed one, he can’t let himself get too caught up in his feelings – so when you express yourself hate, love, happiness he feels good. He feels safe to know that there is someone there to express and project my feelings for me. You are not just a person to him, but something essential for him to feel human, a person that isn’t just a tool or a weapon for the Gods.

He would definitely understand your point of view and make it very clear that he did not leave on purpose and that he is not in any romantic or close relationship with any girls. He got some of his memories back, but part is still left out. Even so, he would try his best to explain that his feelings are still very real but if you want to break things off, he will let you.

The last statement might cause an argument, because why would you want to leave him? No, you’re angry because he left, and you spent months without knowing if he was really safe.

One hour later, Jason is holding your hand when he introduces you to the rest of his crew. You’re happier but can’t help but feel needy in a way.

Jason would let you hold his hand and put an arm around you, but he gets distracted and ends up moving away from you just to talk a little about the next step for their quests.

In order for your relationship with him to work, you will need to agree to let him go when he wants or needs; also, be comfortable with him being around others for long periods of time.

But Jason would know of your jealousies already and would know the perfect way to make you feel better: spending time together and some wholehearted apologies.

Lets say he didnt come back, you would go on a search for him and maybe even treathen a couple of minor gods just to find him.

Well, unknown hero agent man / pen symbolism anon, i hope you're reading this, cos you hit the nail on the head! this kind of symbolic storytelling is not only a fine art of cinema (being lost these days a little sadly, what with the whole netflix speedy turnover etc), but exactly what (good) films of the horror genre aim to do.

horror has long been a way to creatively tell 'normal' dramatic stories through subtext and symbolism. not sure if this is still a way around traditional censorship but im sure it began that way. films like the exorcist, the shining, rosemary's baby... all classics that are filled with subtext. its also an exciting way to talk about things that might seem trite or too bleak when portrayed as a 'straight' drama (this is the term meaning 'non-genre based' or 'non-musical' lmao). So you could say that ST is NOT straight, in more ways than one 😉

but much of this will go over casual viewers heads, so its finding the balance between making a story believable on the surface (another dimension exists! scary government men trying to kill us!) and subtextually (the UD as a metaphor for trauma/AIDS/closeted homosexuality/abuse etc) if viewers are clever enough to see/feel it. i say feel because much of storyviewing is instinctive instead of analytical.

so ST incorporates both - not just metaphorical, vague storytelling, but also real issues too. but it goes one step further, and actually has characters talk explicitly about reading deeper into stuff (murray's behind the curtain speech). it's a very meta show, even for a genre piece, which is why it astounds me that some people think it's not that deep lol. and some people think that only literature can be deep, but never tv or movies - which is an insult to anyone who has ever been passionate about cinema tbh. It's a statement that would probably rip the heart out of the duffers' chests and stomp on it. these guys are super nerds who have dedicated their adult lives to this passion project. as finn said, 'most people make it then just cash in - im so glad they still care'.

I'm sorry you don't feel comfortable talking about the beauty of this storytelling on your main. it really does surprise me that the fandom is so censorship obsessed because sexual metaphors have long existed in visual media, and especially in horror films. there used to be a long post about byler and a potential sex scene at lover's lake on here, but the user disappeared and the post went missing. it was about all the sexual imagery in ST, with a focus on byler in s4. i especially loved how they mentioned mike's introduction, where he was just in underwear: it is both appropriate for the setting, but also gets the audience used to him as a growing lad with a body and draws attention to those uncomfortable, potentially sexual aspects of being a teen. i mean, he was in tiny pants for god's sake. did we need to see that? why did we see it? etc etc

hilariously, they also referenced the always sunny in philadelphia scene where a character is in a therapist office talking about a pen being a dick. he then puts it in his mouth and chews the pen lmoao

i think you'd enjoy @therainscene's rod symbolism post too. I'm personally hoping for some explicit sex scenes with byler, because the show so far has arguably been telling that story metaphorically already for 4 seasons, and bringing it out of the subtext could be a storytelling device in itself. bringing byler's secrets into the light. after all, this is a period piece that aims to shed light on a bygone era. its not a propaganda piece that needs to remain coded; the reasons for staying secretive still exist for mike and will in the 80s, but times have changed since then for us as a global audience, and more importantly, the aspirational message has changed. what message would the duffs want to send to viewers that are still bigoted? clearly one of the beauty of homosexuality, seeing as will, our fav gay boy, has been the darling sympathetic victim of the show since s1e1. the show needs to remain true to both the 80s while also having a strong message for this decade in order for modern audiences to be able to gain something from watching this story; in order for there to be a reason the show exists at all.

so to answer your question, i had never picked up on the pen symbolism until now, but i immediately agree, not least because 1) it must have a meaning that connects to byler's conversation otherwise why does it just interrupt them with no reason? (from a storytelling pov), and 2) because of the always sunny scene lolllll

So part of my thought process is based on your personality types, the Troubleshooter and the Logician. However, I have to admit a bigger part of my reasoning is I think Asher would love your fashion sense and would contrast you so cutely.

Like, on a deep, core level, your personality types give me the impression of someone who’s thoughtful and analytical and capable of solving problems. Those are good traits for a beta’s mate, especially when Asher can have more social, impulsive tendencies. On a funsies level, I imagine Asher dresses like your typical So Cal dude, kinda surfer chic, and he loves your style and what an odd pair you make. Like, on all levels but especially physical, you are the embodiment of the black cat/golden retriever couple.

Given we canonically know Asher to be a FOB fanboy, it’s hardly a leap to assume he’s a Blink fan, especially this song. I think this particular track is not only fun and nostalgic to him but captures his energy and vibes, how he felt when he first fell in love with you. It’s also catchy as hell, so you know he’s singing this at you full-volume all the time.

Anytime someone says they’re a horror fan, I’ve got to put Guy in their big three; one of my top headcanons is that he writes some gripping horror and loves it as a genre. THEORY: WHAT IF THE ANTASMA WE SEE ISN'T THE "WHOLE" THING

Ok ok, lemme explain what I meant. A few weeks ago, me and @noddynods made a joke about how Dreambert was secretly fanboying over Antasma because his the only person to actually title him king, like in the games, Antasma never referred himself to king. He did say he wanted to be king, but wanting to and already being one is completely different. Now recently, my Exam-illed mind wandered back to that random ass convo because I was so sick of studying and actually began to dwell on that. What if...the Antasma we see in the game...is only half of what he actually is. Lemme explain some more, Antasma, as portrayed in the game, isn't exactly a bright cookie (Dawg got betrayed by BOWSER of all people). He isn't stupid either but his farrr from intelligent, in fact his very emotional in all sense, he often screeches loudly whenever he gets angry, happy, or sad???? And just generally expresses his feelings openly a lot. Now what do I meant by this? I meant that this verison of Antasma...might be his right brain. I theorize that the Antasma we see isn't actually who he really is, its only half of him. Ok now this is a little bit headcannon-y but hey, what the fuck, lets go. I need a explanation, a theory, so here we go.

You know how in the Dream World, theres Dream's Deep. Like a really deep pit of where the..un...deepest consciousness resides, like thoughts or some shit. I dunno, that's what I think anyways. We also do see that there's a Nightmare World, now, we don't know if the Nightmare World is a completely different realm then the Dream World or just a extension of itself, but assuming that the Nightmare World is a different realm that only produces nightmares, we can assume that the Nightmare World also has it's own Dreams Deep. Now we don't know what Nightmare World's own version of Dream's Deep is called, or even if it exists at all depending if the Nightmare World is a extension of the Dream World and not it's own thing. But if it is. I would like to guess that Antasma's other half, his Left Brain was trapped in there. His intelligence, his cold cunning calculated side was locked away in a even more deadly and dark prison. Which makes sense, high intelligence has the risk to yield incredibly dangerous people. Especially when given to one without any moral standards. Now why did I specify Antasma's Right Brain being more emotional and creative while his Left is more intelligent and cold? Because science lmao, it had been recorded that people who are more in the creative fields has a more responsive right hemisphere compared to the people in the analytical fields. Now obviously this has been debunked as it shows creative people also using the left hemisphere of our brain to do creative stuff, but our right hemisphere still "drives the wheel."

So I'm not exactly being completely scientifically right right, but its a generalization of how the human brain works. And why I think this is applicable to Antasma. I mean, just look at the current in game Antasma, he does prove to have skills in planning even though I had said that his not as smart cuz his the right brain and all. So it doesn't disprove my theory. Now...lets think, assuming that the Nightmare World is it's own realm. what would it's own version of Dream's Deep be? I think....It's a completely opposite to the Dream's Deep in the Dream World.

A World of WHITE

This image of 7-1 from Ultrakill was just a concept or idea of what the Nightmare World's Dream's Deep looks like. And trust me, I have a good reason to think why the Nightmare World's Dream's Deep would look like this. There is a well known psychological torture method called The White Room. Where the victim is dressed from head to toe in white clothing and forced into a bright spotless white room that is constantly blowing cold air, illuminated by blinding white lights, and forced to eat white rice and drink milk for as long as they would stay there. The room is also outfitted to be completely quiet too, which would leave you in isolation along with intense sensory depravation. Victims who are reported to be tortured with this method become depersonalized by losing personal identity and suffers from hallucinations or psychosis. The torture basically turned your brain against you.

And it's one of the worst things for a human being to experience, no matter who they are.

And this...is the perfect set up for the Nightmare World to create, a suffering of your own mind, the brightest torture method to exist. And this place would also be where Antasma's Left Brain is trapped in, desperately trying to find a way out of this place that he had been stuck in for the past 1000 years. Now why do I think that Antasma has a split brain personality? Mainly because of the Pi'illo's vagueness, even though they said that they don't know where he came from...how did they know his a Dreamy Bat in the first place? Like, Antasma could've previously been something that's probably not a Dreamy Bat, maybe a different species of bat all together. So why do they know what he was before? My guess? They're LYING Why did Dreambert refer Antasma as King even though he had literally never called himself that, why did the Pi'illos' all insist that his a Dreamy Bat even though they clearly stated they don't know where he came from??? Questions QUESTIONS!!!!! Why does Antasma holds a grudge against the Pi'illos? At first it could be assumed that its because they trapped him for a thousand years, but the way on how fiercely he fought Dreambert suggests that his rivalry with him lasted WAYYY longer than just him eating nightmares and being evil.

Maybe...It's because the Pi'illos' was the ones that screwed him over in the first place...

Remember when I said that I was confused on why Dreambert calls Antasma a king when he himself doesn't call himself one? Yeah...that...

Perhaps...Antasma was actually a king before, a King of the Nightmare World. Maybe he was actually a Dreamy Bat turned Nightmare....but he only resided within the Nightmare World. Cuz like, how tf was there only one species of him when bats are known to have a habit of pooping out babies faster then you could say: Ey patoto tser matata. On puenes corron brangar coram brangan yaay geigoronama todoro nomonam sugoro bravo and congregay. Postono tunitena tuna na sena tona gamama brrrr senanana seradenanana raba tane e. Ano no no no see vetera el borocone teno done de. Atono coro todei trae bosto arapa to to de seca dota. Deya toma todo ropo tuno ge arapa to. Arapada ohto otro es ey su otro apada veh ito. Amos traedo roho serapade toro o or na paed poro. Amarato toro sorei baro. (Luigi's Italian gibberish) Which is where this theory that I had comes into play, Antasma most likely devoured other wannabe species of himself before he began building his kingdom in the Nightmare World. Which suggests that Antasma probably only resided and existed in the Nightmare World, until the Pi'illos' came around and found out.

There's a very high chance that the Pi'illos grew fearful of the kingdom that Antasma build, so they most likely infiltrated his kingdom through various diplomatic means, (his kingdom was probably very powerful). And attempt to kill him from the inside because of the power he has.

Now obviously this did not work and only succeeded in splitting his brain/body apart. Which explains why Antasma does not wear a crown in game, it most likely got split in half from the attack or completely destroyed.

This most likely lead to a series of disarray in his kingdom, resulting it being torn down by the panic masses and the Pi'illos. Obviously, the more emotionally and feared driven side of him immediately went into revenge mode. Leaving his weakened intelligence side to be captured and trapped into the Nightmare World's Dream's Deep.

The emotional side probably stole the Dark Stone and shattered it like how Dreambert said he did, but out of revenge for his fallen kingdom, and for the Pi'illos' betrayal.

Aromantic Horangi is not something I’ve considered, but I love it. Tell me more.

As for dealing with Krueger I see Soap as the one more likely to start a fistfight. The guy is hot blooded as hell and he’s not going to tolerate anyone calling his relationships into question. Ghost seems more the type for the subtle warfare, he doesn’t want to upset Konig but he’s gonna fuck Krueger’s day up.

I headcannon Horangi as someone super laid back, but in the silent, precise and analytical kind of way. We are talking to the extend of coming off as colder than he actually is. But he actually cares deeply. König didn't understand this, until he has a bad panic attack at 3 am and afterwards stands in the kitchen, trying to pour a bowl of cereal with shaking hands. Only for Horangi to come in, take one look at him and do it for him, before sitting with him for an hour, until König feels like he is able to sleep again. He considers him his best friend afterwards.

I feel like their closeness would lead to landing in bed together and König proceeds to fall. Hard. Horangi tries again and again to explain to him that he cares deepy, but love is just not on the table, that he just doesn't feel attraction in this way. Its frustrating for both of them, they fight more than once, because König thinks Horangi is just using him. He feels like they are basically a couple already, what does HHorangi mean he doesnt fall in love? He thinks he does something wrong. König only gets over his feelings when Horangi puts his foot down and tells him to respect his boundaries and feelings or else. König finally does a bit of googling and this makes it much easier for him to be understanding. Horangi isnt lying, this is a thing that people do experience.

What stays, is a gentle, deep friendship. They trust each other, sleep with each other and hold each other. Even if they are not exclusive, they don't really go out with other people because its inconvenient, but Horangi has more partners than König. They share a physical proximity, but König always longs for a relationship with someone who loves him romantically. (Which is hard to come by when you don't wanna give up your squish.) König often vents his frustrations to him and Horangi really tries to hold back on the: "Well, if you were Aromantic, your life would be easier. Ever considered changing teams?" Jokes.

When he meets Ghost and Soap, he is head over heels and when they notice him too, there is a conversation to be had about the whole thing, but they accept his thing with Horangi fully. There is still jealousy sometimes, that can't be fully avoided, but Horangi taught König how to properly communicate polyamory and now he can step up and help them navigate this.

(Horangi is happy with his sexuality, albeit he had to struggle for some time, the typical "whats wrong with me??? Why can't I love my partners like they love me? Am I doing something wrong??" Until he just says fuck it and starts setting boundaries.)

And ABSOLUTELY. Soap laughs at first because he thinks it is a joke or Krueger is just weird, but he clocks on to Krueger being malicious on purpose and it might very well escalate to screaming and threats. Maybe not to a fistfight (because ghost holds him back) because Soap knows he would get a write up and thats not a good look. Ghost follows Krueger at night, just to freak him out. Acts as if he is just coincidentally wherever Krueger is. It gets really terrefying when Krueger goes for a jog and there is the cherry of a cigarette closely behind him. He doesnt stop his shitty behavior, but god, he makes sure that he is never alone with Ghost for too long.

Here is why the McElroys should consider hiring me if they were ever to adapt Ethersea:

I love Ethersea a lot. Like I'm crazy about it. I'm actively making tables on the wiki and going back and doing episode summaries. I take really detailed notes (I had 22 pages from just the five prologue set ups). I keep track of shit. I have a compilation of all the transcripts in one pdf open at all times.

I have a Vision. The framing, the pacing, the composition, what to keep or cut or add onto, design details. All of it.

While I would not even dare to shoot for the position of illustrator on this ambitious a project (in which I have no professional training so I would be shit at formatting), I do have a creative background in illustration, which would prove useful when communicating with the artist.

I know people! I am your eyes and ears within the Ethersea community. You need a heads up on how something would be received -- well, I've seen how it might! Character choices that matter, relationships that people want to see expanded on, the favorite goofs-- I know them! Your favorite artists who draw scenes from Ethersea? I follow them, I talk to some of them. One of them is my Dungeon Master!! You want to see concepts for this setting? Oh I know a guy! I am like an eel weaving between rocks, you cannot stop me. I find every ethersea post eventually.

I have a diverse array of interests and skills. I may not be a marine biologist but I would drive down to Monterey to talk to one. You need an analytical look at the narrative, to pull apart its themes? Let me just... move this AP Literature score of 5 out of the way so I can start telling you why Ethersea is an incredible piece of fiction with compelling characters and a world that is alive, and how it can function as an allegory to our own relationship with our world. You need someone to do meticulous copy edits? I already have a style guide open in another tab-- being the editor for yearbook trained me for this. I do not only succeed in the technical writing department, but I also have a deep love for science, especially the natural world. My proximity to the pacific ocean means learning a lot about marine ecology even just in passing, and I really love chasing that curiosity.

I have a lot of thoughts about brinarr and their designs. I began working on a speculative biology project about Brinarr but have yet to return to it-- but I learned a Lot about corals and other marine species in that time. I worked on this at the same time as I was taking an anatomy and physiology class (which I have kept my notes from for future reference), and combining these two understandings into one has been one of the more difficult but rewarding creative tasks I've pursued. Because of my variety and versatility of skills and interests, bringing multiple things together to create something new is something I enjoy and comes easily to me.

I am an excellent note taker! I take notes by my very nature. Twice I went to a college tour with a notepad and pen only to find I was alone in that. I have 44 pages of notes from D&D when we only had 5 sessions. I had an organized document for APUSH that was dreadfully long but extremely navigable. I keep my documents in folders. I keep my PLAYLISTS in folders. You will absolutely be able to find the correct document that you're looking for.

I may not have any degrees, or expertise in publishing, but I do have an intense passion for Ethersea and strong motivation to learn and adapt. While this is an absolutely futile endeavor on my end, I am shouting it into the void in the hopes that it is heard.

Chapter 6.

I struggle to believe that Alistair is still the same boy whom I had the pleasure of “meeting” a month ago, when it all began. As much as I dislike to admit this, his empty “Evening, Aspenville. Today is November 23rd…” felt oddly devastating. Ever since the Calamity - Montgomery seems to love using this word in regards to our current situation - began I’ve been feeling like I all of a sudden found myself in a room deprived of any windows. With no way out and the only source of light being a small yet bright candle placed right in the middle of it. From my earliest memories, I have always been scared of the dark. The room’s walls were almost as cold as ice, but as long as I had the candle none of this mattered. The warmth of its flame gave me all the comfort I could ever dream of. Much to my displeasure, my candle slowly burnt out and once the flame was gone I found myself lost in the unnerving darkness of the room and just as confused as when I opened my eyes here for the very first time. Alistair became a bitter person. Loneliness truly is one of the coldest feelings a human can experience.

Today’s broadcast went, for the most part, just as I could anticipate. Alistair kept spilling a bunch of analytic data and scientific terminology; some of which I highly doubt he could even understand. I could tell how unhappy he is. I was able to sense the deep rooted distrust and resentment he had for Montgomery. I knew he didn't actually want to be there and no amount of pretty words, he would use without giving them a single thought or meaning, could hide something this plainly obvious. Upon noticing his misery I’ve begun to wonder - why is he so insistent on doing all of this if it clearly makes him so unhappy? What for?

An interesting trait of Alistair’s, I’ve noticed a couple of weeks ago, was his undeniable tendency for believing that whatever he does he is doing it for the greater good. For as long as this project has been going on, he was always willing to go out of his way to justify his actions. To find a sense of greater meaning in them, no matter how irrational wouldn’t they actually be. “I did it for his own safety”. “I collaborated with him for the good of my research”. Alistair seemed beyond unwilling to abandon the belief that everything he does must be in some way meaningful. At times it even reached the point at which I’ve begun to seriously consider whether he simply fears dying without leaving any impact on this world. In a way, this is pretty adorable, isn’t it? A person who doesn’t fear the strange and violent creatures lurking behind his window, is terrified at the thought of living an empty life.

After what seemed like a lifetime - but in reality was merely an hour - of Alistair’s monotone pseudo intellectual lecture on the subject of not so human biology, one sentence coming from the opposite side of the radio caught my attention.

- I’m tired, listeners - he sighed, causing me to immediately tune in - It feels like we’re heading nowhere. Virgil assures me that everything is under control and that progress takes time. “You need to be more patient, it is all part of the process of discovery” he says and yet I struggle to believe him. It’s not like he has given me much of a reason to trust him lately anyway. Every morning I wake up with the hope of discovering something crucial, finding the missing puzzle piece, and every night I fall asleep knowing how much I failed at doing so. Well… “fall asleep” probably isn’t the most appropriate of terms to be used here. Those godawful abominations have been keeping me up every night for who knows how long. What frustrates me the most about this state of being is how easily Neil has been noticing that something isn’t right. He’s awfully smart for his age and never fails to see the cracks that I would rather keep hidden. I know that he means no harm, but having him around at a time like this couldn’t be more distracting. Sometimes I wish he could just go away. I wish all of this could just go away…

Alistair surely did sound like someone who hasn’t been sleeping well lately. I’ve been beginning to seriously worry about his relationship with his younger brother lately. Noticing how much he has been pushing him away, despite clearly not wanting to do so, made me suspect that Alistair might be slowly losing his touch with reality, but under these circumstances, wouldn’t all of us be?

- I’m not proud of how I have been acting towards him… - Alistair continued after a brief moment of silence - I have barely gotten any chance to talk to him today. In all honesty, I haven’t even seen him since this morning. I am aware that I take full responsibility for this. Earlier today he asked me to play with him, he’s been weirdly obtrusive for the entirety of this week, and I kept telling him that I’m busy. After a while of his nagging I couldn’t take it anymore and in a fit of rage, I told him go check if he’s not upstairs and stop wasting my time. It was such a stupid thing to say… I have no idea what even made me think that - his voice began to crack - I just… I only needed to buy myself some time alone to prepare for this audition. Besides, Neil is already 12, I’m pretty sure he should be able to handle himself just fine. After all, since he’ll be entering into his teenage years so soon, he might benefit from learning some independence - Alistair did not seem too convinced of his own words - I wish he would just understand that, as much as I would love to, I’m not always going to be there for him. And yet… - he sighed - I can’t help but worry about him.

The radio went silent for a couple of minutes. Alistair seemed to be looking for more subjects to cover. Perhaps he didn’t prepare for this audition well enough…

- Where was I… Pardon my lack of professionality, dear listeners, all of this commotion is making me lose my thread - he giggled - It’s just been a rather difficult week. Virgil wasn’t happy about me revealing his latest discovery to the public. He said that I can’t be doing this sort of things and then expect him to trust me with crucial information. He thinks that I’m not trustworthy enough? Can you believe this, listeners? As if he had any sort of authority in trustworthiness - he seemed seriously offended - I’m glad to be given a chance to work with an actual expert, but Virgil’s hypocrisy can be unbearable at times. Ever since that incident, working together has become much harder for, I believe, both of us. There has been a noticeable tension; one that I’m not able to ignore. It has, after all, been our first major argument. I get anxious every time he calls me and I have no idea how I should go about this - I noticed his speech becoming faster and his breath becoming shorter with every word - I know I can’t just stop now, it’s a great opportunity. I just… I want everyone to be safe and well. I want to help, I really do… And yet, it seems like I’m doing the polar opposite of that.

I didn’t like this shift in tone one bit…

- How is it that every time I’m trying to make things better, they keep getting worse? Am I really incapable of helping people? Am I a failure? Maybe she was right. Perhaps, by pushing myself into other people’s lives, the most I’m able to do is hurt them. But is it really so wrong of me to want to be useful? To feel a sense of belonging?

Who is she?

- I’m sorry, listeners - he added after a short while, noticeably trying to calm himself down - I shouldn’t be saying this sort of things on the air; it’s unprofessional. I’m just terribly worried about Neil. I have been all day. I can’t go check up on him now. I’m busy and he should know how to handle himself. He should be fine on his own, right? Virgil has been much more strict with the amount of information I’m allowed to share lately, as well as the amount he shares with me to begin with. He acts as if me telling you about his secret discovery interrupts his work in some major way. He says that I’m disrespectful of his work. I swear to god, he loves being so unnecessarily dramatic at times. He also gets extremely frustrated whenever I mention Neil. Everytime I tell him that I can’t talk to him, because I’m helping my brother out, he takes it really personally; more than with any other possible reason. As much as I can empathise with his desire to keep the research somewhat private, this just seems absurd to me. Why would he act like this? I tried to talk to him about it; to figure out what could possibly be going on inside his mind. Sadly, whenever I mention a subject that is at least somewhat more personal, he immediately shuts me up. He never talks about his private life. Every once in a while I tell him some little things about myself. What school I went to, what my favourite books are, how my day was, ect. I try to build a relationship with him; a trustful friendship between two coworkers. As long as it has nothing to do with Neil, he seems interested. Yet, whenever I ask him to tell me anything about himself, this interest disappears at the speed of light. “And what about you? How was your day?” “Alright I guess, can we get back to work?”. Always the same cold answers. The only thing Virgil Montgomery seems to hate more than his work not being respected, is discussing his past. I don’t want to overstep his boundaries, but I can’t help but wonder what made him that way. Perhaps I’m looking too deep into this… I wonder what my brother is doing right now…

Alistair didn’t seem to be doing the best job at hiding his anxiety.

- As I have previously mentioned, Virgil is now more hesitant to share certain details of his work with me. He said that he wants to shift his current area of interest from the genetic build of Strangers to analysing their behaviour patterns. He puts a lot of focus into testing how they might react to different stimuli. If you asked me, that is a rather obvious attempt at distancing me from what actually matters to him; at keeping me in the dark. Sadly, as long as I am still a part of the research team, it would be rather foolish of me to complain. In order to get any chance at a closer access to more data I need to play his game the exact way he wants it to be played.

The way Alistair quickly jumped into conspiracy made me wonder whether Montgomery could possibly not be the only one on their research team who struggles to put trust in others.

- We’re doing a lot of testing involving flowers, he seemed to take real liking to them. I was asked to take detailed notes of the progress happening in the growth of the flowers I’ve planted at the station a while ago. No noticeable changes with the lilies, the daffodils seem to be growing stronger and faster than ever - he didn’t seem particularly interested in what he was describing - However, what’s far more intriguing to me are the tests we’re doing in favour of the Sunflowers Theory. As you already know, listeners, I personally am highly sceptical of said theory, yet Virgil seems to be going out of his way to prove me wrong. Just yesterday he decided to collect a few specimens of the flowers in question in order to expose them to our test subject. Personally, I find his keenness of proving this particular theory rather ridiculous, but as I’ve already said, It is likely just a simple means of distraction…

An odd muted noise could be heard from afar.

- … Did you hear that too, listeners? - Alistair asked awkwardly.

A horrific toned scream followed the noise.

- Uhh… I’m pretty sure it was just something from the outside… right? Maybe a dog… I can recall seeing lots of dog owners around this area in the past - what an unusual dog it must’ve been - Anyway, where was I at… right! Sunflowers! As I said, I find Virgil’s behaviour unreasonable. To risk his own life or well being in order to convince me that growing sunflowers in my garden is a safety hazard… Fuck, I can’t do it like that. I’m going to quickly check what happened, I’ll be right back, listeners!

He sounded… unsettled? No, there was much more to this strange emotion than this word could possibly describe. Almost as if someone has robbed him of any sense of control he ever had over any situation. I believe what I have just witnessed was an Alistair he never allowed me to meet before. As much as I was intrigued by this new and unfiltered persona, I couldn’t help but experience a sense of unease myself. As he walked away from the microphone, his footsteps kept becoming more and more quiet, each of them more nauseating than the one before, until they disappeared completely. I can’t recall much of what I’ve heard next. The broadcast ended shortly after.

on your thoughts on knightfall becoming canon ( how high do you believe thats possible like if this was gambling how much stock would you put into it)

I think it's worth emphasising that I constantly make note of my own personal cautiousness about the matter, mostly because I think that's just part-and-parcel of the analytic procedure. Lol.

By nature with works-in-progress you can absolutely never account for authorial whimsy, even if at a minimum you accept that there needs to be canonical intelligibility to any given fan theory - and authorial whimsy can be anything from realising a better idea actually works to draw out your original intentions (this is why the appeal to the 'original pure idea' is usually wrong, because it's not really one-way like that) to actual handovers or conflict of creators/creative vision to it simply being revealed they had very different ideas than what were originally conveyed because it took time for that to come through to simply being kind of stupid.

What's frustrating to me is that a lot of naysayers think that the conversation begins and ends with, 'It's not that deep,' or 'it's not that smart'; it's an easy position to argue from because people assume it's an argument which doesn't necessitate evidence. You don't need to think that hard. What you actually need to do is demonstrate where it isn't thoughtful, and where I would generally agree that, say, the White Fang has poor execution, in terms of its thematic ideas (which in part contribute to some of its tone-deafness), it is actually totally thematically consistent. But most of the fandom doesn't think that a nonviolent solution to the conflict with Salem is possible or even on the cards, so they're never going to be reading these broader ideas into an earlier plotline in the show, and they're never going to connect the redemption and reformation of the White Fang to the redemption and reformation of the bad guys in the story who are all deeply hurting in their own ways (no, Adam was not set up for a redemption arc and is a corrupting force), and I think most people would tell you that the reunion between the Faunus and humans comes off tone-deaf to a lot of modern social justice movements - but it's describing individual psychological harmony - and to be totally fair, I do think that they misused the allegory in a serious way. It's the danger of allegory. Once you introduce magical animal people, I don't think a social justice allegory works, but I think this is a case of where they prioritised the ideas they had (nonviolence, psychological harmony) over the execution proper, and then in addition to that were clumsy and yes, perpetuating racist - and everything else - ideas about the way people are supposed to fight for their freedom.

But I also wouldn't say that the Faunus storyline runs counter to the ideas of the story in any way. Not at all. I think that's where you can identify the fallout.

So the question isn't even necessarily grounded in, 'Is this story stupid?' but, 'Is this story coherent?' which don't always mean the same thing and don't always speak to the same sort of quality. Because I find the friendship is magic stuff bullshit, and at first I thought it was just stupid, but with Cinder and Ruby's respective development, I am basically led to believe it is stupid. It is stupid, and that's coherent - the overemphasis of it has led to a refusal to confront and accept the necessity and transformation of pain, and the beauty which grows from that. This is why I don't really think Pyrrha is the stickling point for the pairing, since her and the Fall of Beacon - which makes the abstract personal for Jaune - basically sets the romance up.

But the point I was working towards is that it needs to be demonstrated where the story is not thoughtful. The difference with RWBY is that most of it is thoughtful. Character arcs are basically connected, basic narrative events are foreshadowed, the romances have thematic- and plot-work to do in the story, the allusions have meaningful employment most of the time. All of it's beholden to Ozlem. It's actually working towards some greater idea and it has specific goals in mind about resolving Salem and Ozma's conflict and about situating Ruby in the story (particularly across this volume). Why her? What's the point of all the little heroes in the story? Of course, what you're fighting uphill against in this fandom is that a lot of angry people online don't appreciate basic storytelling tools. They have a severe case of the narrative cynicisms and literalism, and frankly, this is an ideology which gains traction in the world of outrage and easy clicks and contrarianism just for the pure sake of it. This is more extreme than just, 'Why does the good guy always win?', like asking fundamental and interesting questions, but more like a complete rejection of character transformation. A lot of people view static character as being logical, and especially power fantasy as being logical, which means a total rejection of most events in the show. Or then you've got simple tonal mismatch where people think it's the bestfriendsforever show.

I'm making this case here because it's not actually a simple question. Jaune/Cinder is a serious polemic. It's not a twee power fantasy romance, it's not guy gets the girl as a reward, it's not hero/villain for the sake of it because it's hot, it's actually much more than that and if you came to the ship through that reasoning, that's fine, but that's not the angle I'm arguing from and it's not the angle that I think it's being argued through in the show either.

The case you have to make for Jaune/Cinder is both a thematic one and a character one, because even amongst people who believe in Cinder's redemption, most of them would tell you that job belongs to Emerald, and others might say Ruby. Why would romance be relevant here? Why would Jaune not just end up with Weiss or whichever female character gets relegated to narrative obscurity? It's a positive case which has to be made because what you're relying on is RWBY having some sense of intelligible, consistent (consistent) storytelling, which is thematically motivated, with specific ideas it needs answered - why is the power of friendship the one to fail, why can no one reach Cinder? - which doesn't lean into puerile self-insert power fantasy or the easy, lazy answer, or just the guy waiting patiently until the pretty princess notices him now he's a good boy with almost zero narrative consequences. The much more radical idea to me is that Jaune's character development actually has serious narrative consequences in respect to Cinder's character arc and redemption. You've tied the romance to a major turn-the-tide event and now you've got justification. It's not there for shits and giggles or because it would make a handful of Redditors happy.

(Yes, I do think the interactions Cinder has with the Maidens are calculated, and they have done work to tease out Cinder's specific growth over the past few volumes. But I do think it can be said that every redemption arc so far and yes, every romance has had specific people involved for specific reasons).

But the problem here is that I think the average naysayer would say RWBY isn't that smart (or that Jaune/Cinder is problematic, but you're watching the wrong show if so). Of course, that's why I refer to the canon romances so, and especially the prominence of Ozlem in the story. No other romance best realises Ozlem in such literal reversal. It is curious that Jaune/Cinder mirrors Ruby/Oscar interactions. It is curious that Jaune/Weiss mirrors Blake/Sun in the time of a Volume 4 reprisal-ish when V5 followed on with a serious volume-finisher indicating Blake/Yang and oh yeah, that very one also had the best interaction of all time in the show with Jaune and Cinder. It is curious that the canon romances all in some way line up in ways that Jaune/Weiss doesn't, and even curiouser that Jaune/Cinder does. The romances in RWBY are embedded in the plot. They realise specific ideas. This is foreign to a lot of people who think romance is when people blush at each other and make funny jokes and kiss. Good, interesting, justified, passionate, transformational, heart-moving, soul-touching romance is more than that, and it's part of what I like about RWBY's execution of the romances, because it speaks to a sensibility I appreciate. This isn't radical stuff necessarily, it's just radical to paint-by-numbers understandings of storytelling.

I'm not saying that Jaune/Cinder will be canon. I'm not a gambler. It's really hard to make predictions based off of a work in progress because you have an incomplete synthesis of ideas which can recontextualise everything that's been said.

It's kind of like how most people didn't twig that Cinder is sympathetic up until they made it really obviously textual until Volume 8 to most people (in my opinion it was the end of V7, but in terms of reaction that's when it was). It changes all her previous characterisation because now you understand there's an intended complexity there. Ironwood's fall casts his previous characterisation in a different light in addition to casting more ambiguity over Ozma himself and what Ozma had to handle with Lionheart - it makes Lionheart's loss more profound. I can say that right now Jaune/Weiss doesn't and didn't mirror the canon romance developments, and across this volume it hasn't, but the only point that seriously makes me question it is her casting him into the abyss. Whilst I can identify that as a parallel with Raven-Cinder (Vault fight) and Oscar-Ironwood (Vault fight) where it takes place in a magical place which can reach back into the normal world (a reverse of the Vaults), on the other hand it's the only thing that's given the pairing any remote complexity/drama which is a necessity for all of the pairings (think Blake leaving Yang and the Adam problem, Ren/Nora's backstories and Mantle/Atlas, Ruby and Oscar with the Ozma curse and lying to Ironwood, and then for Emerald/Mercury - well, need I say?). On the other hand, I was really weirded out that Weiss was never personally made uncomfortable with the Penny situation, and at present it seems more like something to inject complexity into Ruby's partnership with Weiss and further influence Ruby's disillusionment. Then once you get into Ruby-Cinder parallels, right now, Jaune being able to help Ruby who is remarkably paralleled with a certain Fall Maiden... does set him up for something else.

But the point I'm trying to make is that even if I could say to you, oh, Jaune/Weiss has almost no development and no paralleled development to the other canon romances crossvolumes, if the present development with Weiss hurling him into the abyss by accident actually addresses that, then you can mark up the Jaune/Weiss development to inconsistency and/or an about turn. Authorial whimsy. They might've changed their mind, or they might've not have wanted to draw scrutiny to the relationship at all until Jaune aged up and was more 'mature' for the pairing, or they might've considered the barren interaction of the awakening of his Semblance sufficient development until then... which it was not, especially because we never got anything between them and Weiss' development with her family in Atlas. Jaune's familial struggles should've come up in respect to that. That is so obvious it hurts! The Arc and Schnee inheritances should be central to the pairing. They've not abandoned either idea with them - in fact who Jaune is 'supposed' to be is one of his central character wounds, which hurts him, in respect to the way Weiss actually wants to reform her family name. Jaune wants to get away from it, Weiss doesn't. So why isn't and hasn't there been any development there whatsoever? Why is his initial crush on her actually tied up in something which hurt him, especially as this volume revisits this idea of the made-up hero he can't be? (Of course, that he's a real yet imperfect hero is the point).

They might've even just thought it'd be funny to put Jaune and Weiss together.

Because Jaune/Cinder hinges on narrative relevance for both Jaune and Cinder. It's giving Cinder a romance when most people don't think about that in respect to her except as a fetish thing which squarely puts her in a position of redeeming Ozlem and addressing her own character wounds (the truth is that nobody's ever loved you). It means that Jaune's presence in the story is completely justified by virtue of being the one to reach out to Cinder when it seemed impossible and seemed absolutely absurd and heretical (yeah I'm pulling the Joan of Arc allusion out here). He's not just here for the laugh of it; there's a quiet little love story between them against the backdrop of the epic spectacle. Ever since Volume 1 people have speculated over their narrative connections. I remember people predicting Cinder was going to be the one to kill Jaune, and I remember shock at the fact that it was Pyrrha and not him.

So I find it beautiful that such a curiosity was warranted, but it's actually contextually realised differently. It's because they'll fall in love. It's a positive subversion.

Is their romance and their respective character arcs actually that relevant to be in question since Volume 1? I think you can make the case for Cinder more because of her redemption and because of the Maiden power, and honestly with this volume, yes, I do think it's easier to make the case for Jaune now than it ever was before, especially as they didn't dismiss the aftermath of Penny but actually broke him even harder than I thought they would. Critically, their romance involves the Crown of Choice (a confrontation over this is near-inevitable, they're the last two survivors of the Beacon Vault), which seems maybe the only certain prediction I can make if their romance is canon.

If you weren't thinking that hard about his character? You would write Jaune/Weiss. If you weren't thinking that hard about Cinder's redemption, and you just finangle its evolution at the last minute? You wouldn't write Jaune/Cinder. Jaune/Cinder by necessity involves carefulness. It doesn't necessarily speak to a perfect execution, but it does speak to coherency, and it does speak to the fundamental ideas to the story, and yes, it does speak to idealism being valued in the story. Resolving Cinder's wounded idealism and prioritising nonviolence and seeing and not just looking and getting the missing side of the story even when she is someone who has broken you (and has the capacity to build you back up) is a tall order, but it's also magical and it does rest on validating fairytales in the story, but in a complicated way, because the dragon and the maiden are one. Why does there have to be a bad guy? Why is Cinder the bad guy? Can they meet in the middle? Jaune and Cinder is about meeting in the middle, even when it's deeply questionable to both sides and would potentially compromise them both.

The question of Jaune/Cinder isn't simply about my dollies kissing - it is about that, to be fair, and I'm not ashamed of it - but to my eyes, it is also what I find valuable about RWBY. It reaffirms RWBY's best ideas. It affirms its ideas, its playful storytelling, its particular intentions with the romances, its sense of transformational redemption. So I think Jaune/Cinder has the possibility to be canon insofar as it follows through on what's it set up and it's coherent and its character development is purposeful and actually, everything about it is purposeful. Jaune has hijinks this volume with team RWBY, sure, but it's also the Old Man and the Four Maidens. It's hard to read his interactions with the Winter Maiden as romantic, especially as she's the first to get through to him, so he can finally go find the Fall Maiden who's run away. But then why make Jaune so obviously and painfully Ozma-coded? Is it because there's a certain, other, actual Fall Maiden, not analogue, who herself has a Grimm curse much alike to Salem? Is it purposeful? Am I supposed to be thinking?

I don't pay much attention to Jaune/Cinder naysayers (and there are a lot of them) because I like RWBY. I like what it's got going for it and I think it's fun and joyful, and I like its sense of spectacle, and most of all I think it's sincere. I don't think Jaune/Weiss or any other Jaune ship is sincere and it would mean that I probably really had no reason to trust in any of Jaune's development or even really the other romances, because what's the point? Once you break what makes them all special, I don't see why I should be invested. Because you can only make a coherent argument for Blake/Yang throughout the show on a basis which conflicts with Jaune/Weiss or indeed even Jaune/Pyrrha.

I also think it has the potential to be the greatest, most thrilling, unexpected yet totally sensical romance of all time. So sue me. I think it's fucking clever, and if that cleverness isn't there, then I don't know if I have any specific reason to care about RWBY.

I couldn't tell you whether I'd gamble on it. I tentatively hope. But deep down I'm a cynic and I've been burnt before and my trust in something so good happening just isn't there - and this is why I hate people telling me this, because I already think it.

But then there's that terrible part of me which can't help but wonder, and I guess that's why I keep writing posts even when it's a controversial ship... I want characters like Jaune and Cinder to see their hopes reaffirmed. I'd like a hopeful story. I'd like a story which gives a shit. I'd like my own hopes to be affirmed, I suppose, even when it seems impossible.

Yeah, Western ideology does very much enjoy infecting others as best it can. The USA education system is one of the most divided if I'm not mistaken? Divided in like, the quality of your education can vary wildly depending on where you live instead of a standard being approximately the same throughout schools. People dont choose where they are born and must live (until they move out) but it seems absurd that being born on one side of a city versus the other could be the difference between getting an education that'll prepare you for high school and/or post high school, and one that prepares you for the ever-shrinking factory worker role.

I'm from canada personally and I won't say that ours is much better (our schools are entirely modelled into preparing people for factory work. That was the original goal of our schools. Learn to stand in line, follow the bells, etc. Out high schools (in some provinces) are split into two ""tracks"". University (called academic) and college (called applied). Applied teaches you the absolute basics and pretty much prepares people for factory work. Academic focuses on teaching analytical thinking, critical thinking, essay writing and applying thought to ideas. Totally definitely totally a fair system, because you cant go from applied to academic but you can go academic to applied (applied versions of the classes dont count as prerequisite to academic classes. Basically locks people into a worse education. Theres also a big judgement culture on getting into university because college is considered lesser and for idiots because in canada university is theory and thought focused and colleges are skill and applied knowledge focus)

I think you make good points and it definitely is most obvious in USA where literacy is declining. Unfortunately it happens here in canada too, people just dont talk about us much lol

I think part of it, especially with the us is control. It is a LOT easier to control people if they struggle with critical thinking. Not teaching people how to find information and formulate opinions without (much) outside influence means it is a ton easier just to tell people what they should and shouldnt do. Obviously this thing is bad if it hurts kids, right? But they arent taught how to consider how would it hurt them? Why? What are the alternatives? If kids are hurting why are they pushing other laws and whatnot to hurt them more? Etc etc

Which... not to get political because it isnt quite the best area to bring up randomly, but just going to mention the rise of facism and decline in critical thinking and media literacy are oddly in sync in the US. Just. To point out that it might be partially not just people being addicted to phones, though that is a big factor. It's one of those situations where you need to ask "who might benefit" if it seems like there are no positives.

Anyways, it is really sad that people aren't being encouraged to think, really if you think about it? Social media is a lot of parroting back and blending in, making your literal person a brand, and echo chambers. Younger folks especially are losing out on those in person social interactions as most is replaced online, which means people arent getting together to chat as much. There is always something else, which limits a person's opportunities to get deep, debate in a risk free space, and just be around other people.

Its complicated and sad, and really weird that the supposed age of information brought about a general decline in thinking capabilities.

We have something similar too with colleges and universities and maybe there is some bias but not big and honestly more people talk how learning skills is more useful that just whatever they do in universities xD

And yeah it's logical for facsist regime to want dumb people. A person can know that some things are bad, but not because WHY it's bad. And that's how we get progressive young people eagerly support censorship. Indirectly support fascism. And when they will notice what is happening it will be too late. (and it's sad to see them ruining what previous generations were fighting for)

Internet definetely also desentitised people? With so much information about the world, there is less compassion. People have no problem being horrible to others because the screen separates them.

It's a mess. Honestly I think it was a mistake letting kids into social media. They are too impressionable and there is too many bad people who will take advantage of it. And it's harder for parents to keep track of dangerous people around their kids(not to mention parents who don't care what their kids do on internet in general). But it's still complicated, because internet also gives kids community they can't get in real life =(

The hiatus was so nice, I got a lot of things done. I couldn’t wait for the next episode, and it seems neither could Lilith, because even after a month holiday she’s right back to watching with the rest of us! Honestly, you’d think she would get tired of doing this and just not bother but her posts bitching about Fixing RWBY get more traction than she ever got talking about Glints Saga. So since she’s of the ilk that’s convinced people only have popularity riding on RWBY’s coattails, it must be her acting out that mentality, right? lol

Putting under a readmore because some anonymous complainer who has a broken tumblr that doesn’t have the Expand function whined at me. I’d say fix your tumblr but since this one also looks to be fairly long, I’ll comply anyway. It’s no skin off my back.

Yep. Lovely example of Lilith either not knowing or purposefully ignoring social context. Gotta love it.

Because people can refer to people, or in this case cartoon characters, as ‘bitch’ in an affectionate or otherwise joking way. Jinn isn’t real, kiddo, she doesn’t have feelings to hurt even if it was meant to be the insulting term. “The bitch should wear some clothes” isn’t seriously calling her a bitch, and Lilith fully knows that. She gave the bitch some clothes. Bitches love clothes.

Gonna step on Lilith to get up on my soap box. We all know she doesn’t understand the concept of critique. But there is a difference between fun hate and not fun hate. Hate out of love and passion is frustration because something you like is doing something that you don’t like. Apparently not shutting up, turning your brain off and drooling all over yourself as you consume product is a bad thing. How dare people have opinions that isn’t consume more product.

There’s a show appealing to someone and not appealing to someone. And within that there is aspects of a show appealing to someone and not appealing to someone. If you get past the first set of appeal, congrats, you’re a fan. If aspects don’t appeal to you, then those aspects don’t appeal to you, but others do. After all, that’s why you got past the first round of appeal in the first place.

I do have a friend who we’ve encouraged to stop watching RWBY because he was no longer having fun with the show, whether talking about it or shitting on it. It was making him frustrated, angry and upset and we could tell from his voice that he was no longer enjoying himself. At that point there is little benefit to continuing to watch a show. Because love it or hate it, if you’re enjoying the thing, if you have passion for it, that’s a valid way to watch it. You’re analyzing the show just as much as anyone else who is passionate enough to dig deep into analytics. But if you’re genuinely feeling miserable watching the show because you hate it that much, it becomes unhealthy. It’s no longer hating that something you thought was cool ended up being so flawed and you enjoy talking about it.

Even well loved shows have its critics who have aspects of the show they dislike and no one complains. Most fandoms outside of the RWBY fandom understand that just because you have beef with some part of the show it doesn’t mean you are a ‘hater’. People are entitled to their opinions, people are entitled to be frustrated with elements of a story because no story is going to be perfect for everyone. If someone is a genuine ‘hater’ of a show, they don’t watch it of their own volition.

I hated the show. From a technical standpoint as a student of animation, and from a writing perspective as a writer, I saw nothing but rushed animation and overly cliche writing. Passion has nothing to do with it, frankly, it’s about pride in your work. If I have pride in something, I’d want it to be my best foot forward and I wouldn’t want to put anything out that looked like early RWBY even if I decided I wanted to make an indie thing myself. And if I wanted to watch a generic story about fantasy high school, I’d watch any of the other better written, better animated shows out there in the world. I ended up watching past volume 1 because I was told to by a fan because he didn’t like that I was talking about my negative experience with the show. So, if he says I can’t criticize the show unless I watch it, then I did. But only because the opportunity presented itself, because honestly that’s such a stupid argument. No one has to watch the entire show of something they aren’t enjoying in order to be “worthy” of critiquing it. That’s only true if they talk about things outside of the scope of their direct knowledge and experience about the show.

It’s embarrassing to me that Lilith is a writer and doesn’t know how writing works. But she’s just one of many these days that don’t.

So, there are three different categories of characters that are allowed to drive the plot forward:

The protagonists

The antagonists

Arc relevant characters

The protagonists, if they are active characters, will or should drive the plot forward at least half the time. Lilith is interesting in that she complains that Fixing RWBY doesn’t allow the female protagonists to drive their own stories forward, yet is silent when the show doesn’t. The thing about being a protagonist that drives the story forward is that the actions you perform will have consequences, and the viewers get to hold the protagonist responsible for that if they feel the action taken was poor. But Lilith complains whenever people talk about Team RWBY’s involvement in the Atlas Arc, saying that because they are girls that they shouldn’t have to be criticized for their involvement. Infantilizing the girls, because they’re women, saying that they should be exempt from criticism when they are active in their own show because of the fact that they’re girls. Well, I’m sorry, but that’s not how any of this works. If Team RWBY wants to wear the Protagonist Pants, they get treated no differently than any other character who also wears them. They are in the spotlight, they’ll get the most attention, they’ll get the most criticism.

Antagonists are usually the ones who drive the plot forward, more often than the protagonists even. Without the antagonists, there wouldn’t be much conflict in our story about ‘saving the world from evil’ now would there? Salem, quite frankly, is a poor excuse of an villain. Rather, she’s the Rita Repulsa, or more accurately, the Fire Lord Ozai of RWBY. Rita rarely ever directly got herself involved in the battles with the Power Rangers, preferring to send wave after wave of ineffective henchmen after them to get destroyed in the monster of the week-style format. Her main saving grace is that it’s a show for very small children and her over the top antics are amusing. Plus the Green Ranger Arc is still great to this day, something that she was directly the cause of. Even though she doesn’t appear herself, she still physically has to throw her staff down into the earth to grow her monster into a kaijuu. Rita Repulsa drives the plot forward in her show. Ozai on the other hand is mostly covered in shadow during the few, scant moments we do see him in the show before the very end. He’s intimidating while on screen, especially when looking through the perspective of Zuko. But he doesn’t directly drive the plot forward. He’s a vague, wishy-washy threat far off in the distance and we see Sozen’s Comet more as the looming threat than Ozai is. It can be one of the weaknesses of Avatar if it weren’t for the fact that, like Rita, he has minions (his own children) to throw at the Gaang to be direct threats. Zuko, and then Azula, and then smaller antagonists just as General Zhao. They aren’t constant threats, though. Ozai’s threat as a villain is reduced to something that isn’t all that big until the second half of the final season. Salem is much more like Ozai. A threat way off in the distance, and one that we didn’t even know of until the end of the third volume. But she sits and waits in her spoopy castle, allowing her minions to do as they please. Cinder is the antagonist for volumes 2-3 and half of 5. Tyrian is an antagonist for about 3 episodes. Hazel at the climax of volume 5 and Watts is ever in the background being a little tech goblin. Roman + White Fang was the main antagonist for V1, not part of Salem’s crew (which is fine, it’s the start of the show, we can build up to it). Cinder is indirectly the mastermind behind V2, though it’s mostly done by Roman still using White Fang. Cinder is directly involved in V3, joined by Roman and White Fang. V4 it’s all about the Nucklavee and White Fang. V5 it’s Raven and Cinder oh and Adam reminds us he exists. V6-8 is Atlas with Adam as a footnote and finally for V8, Salem gets up off her ass and directly does an action. V9 is looking to not have anything to do with Salem at all.

Arc Relevant characters are the final piece to the puzzle, usually having a big hand in whatever needs to be done. They’re usually considered temporary, but they are needed in some way for the plot to move forward.

While two different elements of these three can work simultaneously, out of the seven configurations possible, a protagonist only needs to be active in only four of them. Protagonists do not need to be the driving force all the time, but nor do they need to sit on the sidelines for an entire plot just because they aren’t the main driving plot.

Adam is an antagonist, and is being set up as the main obstacle for the heroes this volume. Antagonists drive the plot, sometimes much more than the protagonists do, so why is it a problem that the antagonist does their job? It shows a lack of knowledge and skill on Lilith’s part when she doesn’t know or understand fundamental aspects of storytelling.

So Lilith actively lies now. I know she and her little friend Xelian don’t understand the concept of lying, but she’s definitely not telling the truth here, being manipulative and obscuring the truth with muddy language enough to give a false impression by, funnily enough, ignoring any time one of our main protagonist does anything to focus on Roman, Qrow and Neo. Then again, for someone who bitches and whines and throws a tantrum that Raymond is such a sexist pig, she sure treats the female protags like garbage and focuses on the male characters, important or not. It’s almost like Lilith has some serious projection going on.

The sequence of the train crashing follows like this:

Yang and Blake are stable and able to save themselves so far

Weiss and Roman are secured on a train car

Roman rescues Neo

Qrow is trapped within the train car and struggles to get out

Ruby is secured at the top of the train cars

Blake is attacked by a manticore and is saved by Weiss

Yang loses grip and falls and is saved by Weiss

Manticore goes after Weiss, who is saved by Ruby

Ruby falls, Yang saves Blake from a bridge beam

Neo goes to save Yang when she falls from destroying the beam

Roman slams into Weiss, who protects him

Ruby saves Weiss from another manticore

Qrow saves Roman and they both land, Blake lands on her own

Ruby breaks her leg and is helped by Weiss to get off the breaking ice

Neo and Yang both crash into the water and Neo is pinned

Yang tries to save Neo but runs out of air

Blake and everyone else saves Neo from drowning

Wow it looks like it’s the main team that do the majority of the saving here. Like I said, Lilith ignores what’s inconvenient to her toxic narrative by saying characters that barely did anything get to be the focus of the scene. Team RWBY got to shine in this scene and displayed both strong amounts of teamwork and care for each other. Weiss is MVP.

Also Lilith tries to act like titling the episode after a non Team RWBY member is somehow wrong. Because that’s totally a sane and logical thing to do. Seriously, she has to REACH really hard to the point where she nearly pulls something to come up with these complaints. As nitpicky as the Antis accuse anyone they hate of being, I don’t think anyone has seriously complained about the title of the episode being related to a character as an issue. Lilith is no better than the people she dislikes because she is the people she dislikes in thought and action, and then some.

“Oh my god how dare the guy who has the brain parasite inside his mind be affected by the brain parasite?!”

That’s how stupid Lilith sounds. I’m sure she’s fine with Oscar not having his own agency in the canon scene, considering how much she hates men. That’s why she focuses on them so much. She says over and over and over how much she doesn’t hate men, and I guess she’s right. Based on her actions with the cast in Fixing, I have to say she hates all the characters, the female characters and male characters alike. She hates the whole cast of RWBY. She bitches about the male characters twitching an eyebrow or breathing the wrong way. She completely ignores the main female characters. She bitches about the female non-main cast members. Lilith is someone who has a sickness and is perpetually unhappy and clings to her hatred while projecting her insecurities, failings and flaws onto other people.

Lilith whines and complains that the RWBY girls don’t have a childish temper tantrum, with Yang bitching about how they’ve picked up a useless old woman because she’s upset they got left behind. Then she goes on the attack at Ozpin out of the blue. Ozpin gives them the information readily that it’s the relic that causes it, though it honestly seems like the girls already knew the answer and just wanted confirmation. Like they read the script.

In Fixing, everyone makes a fire and huddle around it for warmth while they figure out what went wrong. They try to use their brains to figure out why things happened the way they did. Adam is brought up but the idea of him attracting the grimm is dismissed by Yang and Weiss. But Blake, having known him and how deep his hatred and rage goes, says he can.

Roman is the one who brings up the relic. He’s Ozpin’s host, and thus slowly merging with him, so he has access to Ozpin’s memories. He’s the one who shifts the focus. Ozpin, unlike canon, is not willing to give up any information at all and fights Roman on it, causing Roman to fight back and give Ruby the information she’d need to get them all answers.

It’s almost exhausting to see just how stupid Lilith is. If not outright stupid, than ignorant to her own detriment. “Stans” of RWBY always complain that no one who critiques it pays attention to RWBY, but at least they watch the content even if they ultimately disagree with the “stans”. Lilith can’t even be bothered to do that, so it really makes me wonder why she even bothers focusing so much on Fixing RWBY in the first place.

Raymond has said multiple times that he doesn’t think the story overall for RWBY is bad. It is unpolished and rough. His goal is trying to refine it a little bit. Not make it a perfect diamond, but making it so that it doesn’t look like it just came up out of the dirt. If someone can’t comprehend that, they are a moron. If someone ignores that because they want to call Raymond a hater, they are a liar. Lilith is both. Anyone who thinks the way Lilith does, be it Seeker, Xelian, or any of their friends, are no better.

This is a really stupid leap in logic. Lilith is aiming for the olympics with this stretch. We saw in canon that Brunswick farms had a tool shed. Holy shit Lilith can’t even be bothered to remember details from the show she claims to like and defend. But par for the course, since she specifically came into the fandom to be a troll because no one cares about her in the Magical Girl community anymore because she’s terrible and that’s a sore spot for her.

Legit dumbass take that it’ll automatically be Roman or Neo to drive for no reason other than the fact that she wants it to be that way. Are you secretly a Roman and Neo fan, Lilith? Is that why you focus so much on them? Secretly, desperately, she wants Raymond to focus so much more on them and that’s why SHE focuses so much on them! lolol

She doesn’t care about RWBY because she likes the show, she cares about RWBY because it has a strong enough fanbase with critical individuals that she gets to bully people. The majority of her posts about RWBY are digs at RWDE or “haters”. She’s a grifter.

Giving Adam a bike doesn’t take away Yang’s ability to use a bike, and if anyone honestly thinks this, they’re an idiot. Motorcycles are vehicles that anyone can pick up and use if they care to. This is such a stupid take I can’t even fathom the kind of nonsense that goes through her twisted mind to come up with such bullshit.

Says the hack writer who wrote the boring ass beginning of Glints Saga without any knowledge of the basic fundamental idea of hooking your audience. I don’t even think Glints is a bad concept, but holy man does the beginning of the story not grab you at all and that’s an audience retention killer. She wants to talk about Raymond being a bad writer. At least he knows the fundamentals.
