Appuldurcombe House
Hi guys!!
I'm sharing Appuldurcombe House (abandoned/in ruins). This is the 20th building for my English Collection.
I decorated most of the house ground floor, for reference.
History of the house:
Appuldurcombe House is the shell of a large 18th-century English Baroque country house of the Worsley family. The house is situated near to Wroxall on the Isle of Wight, England. It is now managed by English Heritage and is open to the public. A small part of the 300-acre (1.2 km2; 0.47 sq mi) estate that once surrounded it is still intact, but other features of the estate are still visible in the surrounding farmland and nearby village of Wroxall, including the entrance to the park, the Freemantle Gate, now used only by farm animals and pedestrians.
Appuldurcombe began as a priory in 1100. It became a convent, then the Elizabethan home of the Leigh family. The large Tudor mansion was bequeathed in 1690 to Sir Robert Worsley, 4th Baronet, who began planning a suitable replacement.
The present house was begun in 1702. The architect was John James. Sir Robert never saw the house fully completed. He died on 29 July 1747; in his memory a monument was erected overlooking the house on Stenbury Down.
The house was greatly extended in the 1770s by his great-nephew Sir Richard Worsley, 7th Baronet Worsley of Appuldurcombe.
Worsley had left the estate saddled with heavy debts, but Appuldurcombe passed to his niece, Henrietta Anna Maria Charlotte (daughter of John Bridgeman Simpson). She married the Hon. Charles Anderson-Pelham, later first Earl of Yarborough, in 1806. The founder of the Royal Yacht Squadron at Cowes, he made few changes to the house and was quite happy to retain the property as a convenient base for his sailing activities.
Appuldurcombe House circa 1910
In 1855 the estate was sold. An unsuccessful business venture ran Appuldurcombe as a hotel, but with its failure, the house was then leased as Dr Pound's Academy for young gentlemen.

The house was inhabited in 1901–1907 by a hundred Benedictine monks who had been exiled from Solesmes Abbey in France and were shortly to settle at Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight.
Although the house is now mainly a shell, its front section has been re-roofed and glazed, and a small part of the interior recreated. The house has become well known as one of the supposedly most haunted places on the island.

This house fits a 64X64 lot, but it coulf fit a 50x50 too.
I only decorated some of the important rooms. All the rest of the house is up to your taste to decor.

I've watched vinland Saga and have been reading it, and honestly, it made me question how I act and everything really. That's how you know a piece of media is good. So ig spoilers for Vinland Saga, bcs I'm gonna talk abt how it affected me (there will be a part 2, so not everything is here)
Thorffin is such an amazing character. He grows so much throughout the story, and you can see that the change is gradual and that it is hard, and I think that is what good character development is.
Prologue kid Thorffin lives a very happy normal life, and I liked that backstory where we get to see the before his father's death Thorffin, and who his father was. I thing Thors came to the same conclusion that he tried to teach Thorffin when he was young and that he ultimately understood:
This page means a lot. The fact that even though the knife is cutting his hand, he is still clenching it tightly and is not letting go of it because he does not want his son to go though the same path he went to (being a warrior and killing a lot of people) so that he can come to that realisation. Another thing that really shows how Thors is and just how good and changed he is since his days as a Jomsviking is this
When he knocks down the man into the water, he throws him the oar so he doesn't drown. He is not only trying to to kill him by not using lethal force (even tho he could), but he is actively trying to make him stay alive.
When Thors dies, that completely changes Thorffin. He is consumed by rage and is fueled by revenge. The anime shows how he started surviving with Askellad's band (after he joins them to try and avenge his father by killing Askellad), and the moment he started using the same knife his father wanted him to stay away from to kill someone. I think that was a great part, and it really helped to understand how the whole little kid to violent person process went, and that it wasn't sudden at all. I also like the war and fight scenes bcs they are just good and I enjoy fighting in media soo yeah.
There is a lot that goes on, not so meaningful for Thorfinn but a lot for another character that also develops in this story, Prince Canute. Watching him go from someone who was afraid to speak to someone who gave orders around with confidence is amazing honestly. And even if it seemed sudden, that it was solely after Ragnar's death, that caused Canute to have to speak up for himself and no longer have a safe shelter in Ragnar, it was gradual, with that being the point where the most changing takes place after he talks with the monk and realises that God banished us from paradise, and lets us suffer here on earth, and that the only way a attaining his love is to die. "Death completes man." And he decides that he will create paradise on earth. I like his motivations.
Again gradual change (I got lost kinda)
Again, he does speak for himself here, but Rangnars death makes him have to do it, and he gets no choice: he either changes or changes. He is really similar to Thorffin. Being in the battlefield at just 5-6 years of age, he really had to become the violent person he did in order to survive. Or atleast it was the only option he saw.
When Canute plans on killing his father, the king, and taking his throne, Thorffin becomes his personal guard, and again the story is not focused on Thorffin at this point and then there is this
Askellad dies after killing the king, and Canute ascends to the throne of England, not Denmark yet, tho. In this scene we see just how important Askellad was for Thorffin, even tho he was constantly threatening to kill him in a duel, and we see the weird and twisted father figure that he became for Thorffin.
AFTER THE PROLOGUE
Now this is the part where Thorffin changes for the best, after becoming a slave in a Danish farm. He meets Einar there, an English man that turned into a slave after his village was plundered by vikings, where his sister and mother were killed and he was captured as a slave. After being introduced to Thorffin, Einar learns that through hard work making a wheat field and harvesting it he can pay for his freedom back and be a free man again.
At this point Thorffin has nightmares about his time as a warrior, and I think that is (probably) a good depiction of trauma and how it affects him, and that he cannot remember when he wakes up.
We see those dreams, of him killing people without ever seeing their faces, which speaks a lot about how he did that killing. He saw the people he killed as obstacles in his path, just bodies that attacked him that he had to attack back. On those nightmares he sees his younger self killing Einar's family, and cannot stop himself. I think that it proved that now that he is not on the battlefield environment he becomes empty (his own words), no longer being filled by his rage and wish for revenge.
(This is him having those nightmares, where he screams and tries to reach forward)
After that we get another character that I think evolved a lot from the beginning to the end of this part, who is the masters son (I dont remember his name so yeah). He thinks that his father does not treat him like a man (he is 17) and wishes to prove his worth in the battlefield, which his father disagrees to, instead wanting him to spend his life in his farm continuing his legacy. He then meets two guests (warriors who are hired to guard the farm) and they take him drinking in an attempt to get the master's favor, and then they try to solve the son's problems with and initiation ritual to becoming a man: killing someone. They get the idea to kill a slave, and, you guessed it, they picked Thorffin and Einar. Since they are slaves and their lives belong to the master (and his family, therefore his son) he can kill them. They first tell him to kill Einar, who fights back and resists. Then Thorffin offers himself to die instead
Then when they mock him for not wanting to live, and cut him with their swords multiple times, he says this
That seems pretty reasonable for Thorffin to say imo. He spent so much time in constant rage, and he never saw much joy in life. I once saw a yt video (yes this is on topic) about how people who were traumatised as children, opposite of the whole "your trauma made you stronger" way of thinking, actually makes it way harder to believe things will get better, since people who had relatively happy childhoods can look back and say-"life used to be good, so it can be good in the future too", and if you had a bad childhood it's most likely you'll think-"life was also bad back then. It's bad now. What tells me it will be okay in the future? Not much." And I think that is how Thorffin is thinking. Then Snake, the guest's boss comes and stops them and they go back to their lives.
Another thing that is completely off topic: he is short and often times described as small and a "midget". Look at this height difference alr
And yes I also like him bcs I am short as well, why do you ask
Anyway I have hit the image limit so I'll make a second post abt this to finish this up (I hope), so yeah
(Link to the second part of the post once I make one will be here :DD)

please tell me about the books you’ve read recently i would love some recommendations 👀🤲
okay!!!! im bored so heres my thoughts on all the books ive read (or finished reading) since the start of summer
all of murder most unladylike 5/5 its a middle grade series (9 books) about two girls in the ninteen thirties who go to boarding school together and solve murder. its so funny and i really like the historical perspective in it too. i read it originally when it was coming out but i decided to look at it again (can't remember the exact reason why but anyway). soooo fun and pretty clever too
monk and robot duology by becky chambers about 4.5-4.75/5 very interesting world building im not sure i fully understood it so im going to reread but i think its speculative fiction about a post technological world but a robot decides to visit and becomes friends with a monk
all of the locked tomb series. twice. 5/5. i feel i do not have to explain this everyone read it Now
priory of the orange tree 5/5 this is my fourth read through i'm currently on my second read of a day of fallen night (the prequel) and !!!! the prose !!! the world building !!! the characters. i kinda hate that very few people like niclays i love niclays he's so funny to me and a complete cunt
all of nevermoor. twice 5/5. its 223 days to the fourth book coming out and in the hiatus ive managed to write like 19% i think of all fic for it on ao3. so yk. i like it a normal amount its like its very fun middle grade series (im going into my junior honours year of uni so my summer reading was v self indulgent lmao) about a girl who is rescued from death at the last minute and has to compete to get into a specific society so she won't get deported and the world building is sooo good and i love the characters sooo much
fun home by alison bechdel 5/5 the way the narrative is presented in this like all the negative space where things arent said but we're supposed to understand its very good
the gilded wolves 3.5/5 i feel like its on me for like. starting this in june 2023 and reading little bits over the year bc i was a bit confused so im gonna try reading this again sometime but it was pretty fun ngl
transgender marxism 4/5 i found the ideas in this interesting but im not sure i understood all of it so im gonna read around the subjects a bit so i get it more
black leopard red wolf by malon james 3.5/5. i kinda lost where the plot was going about halfway through so this is another book on my reread list but the prose is soooo good that it kept me going
honey girl by morgan rogers 4.25/5 this is about an astrophysicist who has a vegas wedding after she goes out right after getting her phd and is kinda lost in what she wants to do so she strikes up a sort of friendship sort of relationship with her wife from the opposite side of the usa and i found it to be a really nice read
wolfsong by tj klune 4/5 this book is kinda long for what it needs to be tbh and i dont really like the omegaverse enough (its not omegaverse but like. omegaverse's third cousin basically like werewolves and stuff) but i enjoyed the writing style
he who drowned the world by shelley parker-chan 5/5 its the sequel to she who became the sun and i love that zhu has such a good time in this book the second the narrative turns to her its almost a buddy comedy. amazing prose love the world building love the themes love the characters. banger. cant wait to see what shelley parker-chan does next
kemosha of the caribbean by alex wheatle 3.25/5 its about this girl who's a slave in port royal during the golden age of piracy and wins her freedom in a duel and joins a pirate ship as a cook so she can get the money to buy her brother's freedom. i liked it but i think im kinda past ya ig
the aeneid by vergil (cecil day lewis translation) 4/5 oh my goddddd oh my god. amazing. poem of all time
kyoshi duology by fc yee 4.5/5 on one hand i liked it more the first time i read it but like its still good its just ive read some really amazing books since but i love kyoshi and rangi so much and i really like the povs from jianzhu zoryu and yun also
the silmarillion by jrrt 3/5 i did not understand. i will read again im sorry tolkien fans
the mcga trilogy by rick riordan 4/5 this book series was my personality from the release of sword of summer to like two years ago??? on one hand i forgot how much i liked certain elements on the other hands certain elements did not. age well. or weren't good to start with. i feel like rr should like. get a better handle on his narrative arcs tbh
the histories by herodotus (tom holland. not spiderman translation) 4/5 this was very weird but very interesting
the two ministry of unladylike activity books currently out 5/5 this is the sequel series to murder mosr unladylike but about one of the main character's little sisters and her friends outwith the story (which is excellent) i like that it balances showing that the lives of the original characters are still ongoing without going full nostalgia bait
the kane chronicles by rick riordan 4.5/5 outside of the walt and anubis thing (too old to date a Thirteen Year Old jesus christ) very good honestly rr's best series in terms of worldbuilding, characterisation and narrative arcs
the annals by tacitus (yardley translation) 3.25/5 v good translation but holy shit completely boring im sorry im a tacitus hater i fear. interesting historical source tho
lives of the caesar by suetonius (edwards translation) 3.75/5 every single roman emperor is in hell
the aeneid (aeneid daily) 4.5/5 see above
daughter of the siren queen by tricia levenseller 3.5/5 this could be good but every single romantic scene was punctuated by me saying aloud that i hoped jakey died. i do not remember her boyfriend's name i just do not care. nothing special tbh
the woman of troy by pat barker 4.75/5 this is the sequel to her book the silence of the girls which is a retelling of the iliad from briseis' perspective. this book is still mostly from her perspective but (i believe) a retelling of the troades (i haven't read the troades in english except in summary and i only translated it for like two weeks as a seventeen year old so i forgor but i think it is) i usually hate classical retellings but i like barker's take on things and i just found out (like rn) that theres a third book coming out so im excited about that
the atlas six by olivie blake 2.5/5 this book was written to have out of context parts quoted on tiktok
dictator by robert harris 5/5 this is the finale to his cicero trilogy told through the perspective of tiro whom i love and admire (he probably invented the ampersand and other stuff we use as short hand. everyone say thank you tiro) very good
the eternal ones by namina forna 3.5/5 i really liked the first book in this series and i think i liked the second one too and i think the worldbuilding is compelling but im not interested in any of the characters especially her boyfriend sorry. i liked britta tho. also again i think im kinda past ya rn so
nevermoor graphic novel part two 5/5 i thought the art was beautiful but the story was kinda rushed and one fairly important scene was left out which i was really looking forward too and also messes up some of the relationships which was a shame (unless it got covered in dialogue but i dont speak french i was literally just there for the pictures)
task force z #11 & #12 4/5 nice
tiger tiger by petra erika nordlund 5/5 everyone go read this now its about a girl who steals her brother's identity and his ship to study sea sponges and meets god who is a tits out nonbinary lesbian along the way and also: sea sponge
the lightning thief by rick riordan 4.5/5 the fact that luke didn't say "western civilisation is a disease" in the tv show is a goddamn travesty. also i have many thoughts about the themes of nostos and kleos between luke and percy
a sky beyond the storm by sabaa tahir 4.5/5 i love the world building so much in this book and i had a really good time with the character development too. i want to reread the series at some point all at once bc i finished boom three in december and i think i forgot some parts lmao
cursed crowns by katherine webber and catherine doyle 2.5/5 this book is stupid. some of the dialogue is funny. like twice
the eagle of the ninth by rosemary sutcliff 3.5/5 if aiglemene in tlt isnt inspired by this in some way (eagles, ninth, leg injury) i will be genuinely surprised. good time
the dawn of yangchen by fc yee 4.25/5 not quite as fun as kyoshi but i found the politics very interesting
whale weekly 4/5 i lost the plot like back in 2022 but the prose is immaculate its so fucking tragic and it was so preventable i love the whole cosmic horror of the whale
amari and the night brothers by bb alston 4.75/5 this has the same vibes as nevermoor but like the main character is looking for her brother and accidentally finds out that shes a magician and also this is a bad thing. kinda cliché but very fun and i had a good time

Ok.. i cant help but meditate on & wonder how my spiritual journey, somewhat so, more like a roaming through a few religions, influenced me & changed me a lot...
Im from an Orthodox (non-practicant) Xtian family, but the religion never really made sense to me, since i became influenced by the baptist & j.w. way of thinking (esp on the idea of not having icons..). Nowadays im kinda curious on what i missed, still im sure that some/many things wont make sense to me.. but some will do, ig, in a way... (a video ive seen of a priest' wife & Orthodox educator that's Greek-American, made me think that (esp the vids on Phronima)... lol, got the spark & it vanished, cs ive much more to learn on Hellenismos, obviously.. but sth somewhat some(more than id like to be)times sth makes me seriously, or more so, melancolicly when thinking of it... mb its linked to some old memories ... mb linked to the times i used to go to monasteries... or even churchies (yeah, in fact memories do tend to get lovelier w time, if ofc they were not of some traumatic events which you still do remember, or just bad ones..).
One of my lovely memories of going in a church was while in a village i went for the 1st time, & probably last, w some friends... but then we were like some Buddhist monks, more zen, than any dogma... and there were no other ppl in the church, except mb one who entered at some moment, & the service lady & ith some other in service... we entered at a evening kind of church -in english s call that mass? - can i call it slujbă? A thing we call vichernia, by the time of the day its held on, as i said in evening...
I guess the good memories & community ties do help a bit, altho idk moldavians being that religious, esp not younger ones, not of my cycle (tho knew just a few)... but some i know do hold on the traditions, like i know a friend that does light a candle for her father who died many years ago, & does give for his soul/in his memory (we call it pomană, forgot the english term, but will remember to check). But overal, she uses logical reasoning more... on more that is on her soul...
What i liked in the past abt those other two xtian traditions ive been aquinted w through some ppl was that they followed (irronicly for me now, cs yey, im free of that said bad thing/sin mindset - which is def as the hebrew word means 'missing the point' of the religion..) the 2nd commandment, statement rather, of the decalogue... having no idols, & boy, the icons... i mean, it still somewhat perplexes me, i mean now im idolatrious, i pray to Apollo, n id like a close connection w other gods, but im more like meditating on them & what they represent- but still "if u play that game & it has rules, at least play to the rules, no? But well, traditions (of the oldest church, mind it) ... well, worshiping Jesus (& God is 1, but 3 in 1, hmm, curious, why not some hundedreds in one? 😁) is in itself considered idolatry for the ones who dont do it (jews, muslims, unitarian xtians like j.w.)
& later on fell in love w another -but now ig more w some ppl, & their somewhat openness, i sure didnt lie when i say, they know how to be fishers of men (but some/many wont change their religion cs they dont need or want/used w the old, n now i know its fine as long as it serves them.. n that after many months after i fell in love agn w the Baptist church, tho had many limitations, which weirdly now, i was more than willing to accept then... ah glad that my social fears kept me away of going to there in real life.. & have a bit way longer journey... (ill surely 'run' from strict dogmas as fast as i can from now on/stay away from it..) Ah & then there was another one, 7th day Adventist, there i liked their care & how they actually go by all the Bible (except the jewish traditions that were abolished at the cross, n why they'd keep them, they're not jews anws)... after which i cameback to my jewish understanding of things (that i did understand ofc..)
.......... ......... ........ ....... ....... ........
Anws in the end i could say this are a few reasons for me to get interested in dogma psychology or how's that called...
Agh so much to tell, my text is a porridge!
Ah, on the fact why they do venerate icons, well, more like the saints in them, but anws, (& weird, didnt Paul or what other apostle (+ an angel) say like.. dont bow to him, WHILE HE WAS ALIVE??!! - but anws, i got this answer in a message, from another friend, from Romania. Basicly they said: it comes from a period in the OT times, noted there, ith it was while in the dessert... they were bowing at a REPRESENTATION OF GOD... sth w a depiction of cheruvims if i dont mistake, - ith the Ark of the Convenant? That which was stolen few times by the enemy & they're let by God cs the faith of Israelites was shrinking haaard xD... & that is the reason i remember, if i understood it well...
Yet another who said in an answer to a post, icons are not just pieces of art, no idolatry items, just dk what... & sent a pdf to prove it, from which i understood exactly nothing...
Yep, so interesting... & im somewhat still drawn to these like a fly to some sh*t...
Edit: ok, checked
Slujbă is mass (idk why to call it so if there was not a mass of ppl, but def a mass of religious songs, some weight it had...)
& pomană is alms
& ofc ones religion & believes are some deeply personal things, so i couldnt know of the believes of others esp if i didnt ask nor spend that much time w them to know of those... but on one of my mother's older friend i do remember... - how i could forget when she used to tell me on things related, & gave me a book with akatists, could i?? - i read from it just once or twice.. omy, at a time i thought seriously to read, but just cs i was going through some sort of treatments 4 mb treat my burnt disease (i was wearing a t-shirt that ith wasnt mine that was previously soaked in ogyasma, nice :D, & was ofc deeply influenced by the situation & by the person who gifted me that blue hardcovered book.. hm, wondering where i put it...
Anws, felt like studying more on hellenismos buy know its in plans to go somewhere today so...
Oh.. the dawn...
Hi Apollo 😊
Have a Good Sunday Everyone, & A Good Everyday ^^

Your other post made me think of it - how do you announce your death on anonymous social like tumblr or reddit. Do you write a tiny line item in your will use these passwords and announce it? And hope those passwords don't change? Or will we will just fade away into unknown maybe they lost their password or maybe they became a monk who doesn't use the internet obscurity.
Well, I mean, tumblr and reddit are only as anonymous as you make them; they're no more anonymous than Twitter, and only moreso than Facebook, IG, and TikTok because there's pressure to be visible as yourself there. I know people on Tumblr that I know in brickspace, and they'd hear from my parents and announce it -- I do need to set up some password access stuff in my will, to make sure someone can either shut down or archive my social media and protect my AO3 (which I would prefer not be shut down) but I need to do a will in general, so that's a bigger undertaking.
Livejournal did a purge at one point of "inactive" blogs that hadn't been accessed in a while, and I presume eventually Twitter and Tumblr and all the rest will do the same. On Livejournal you could convert your blog to a "tribute" and it would be stabilized without being purged, but of course the platform itself might not always be stable. I really would like to back up my tumblr in some kind of rational way, but the in-platform backup doesn't work for someone with my comment volume, and the hacked backup kludge that someone came up with stopped working for me a while ago.
Still, all things are fleeting. I've got six books and about three million words of fanfic out there, if photos of my cats disappear after I'm gone it won't be history's greatest tragedy.

Alright, alright I have thoughts on Musketeers s2 and I will be sharing them now.
- 2x02 made me kinda like the King but then like he immediately decided to be a dick and blame the musketeers for his own actions like ????? And just, even after 2x06, where like half the plot was three astronomer dude screaming like 'whEn wiLl YOu lEarN tHat yoUr acTIoNs hAve ConSeQUenCes' he just... didn't learn.
- at the same time though, I suppose he is a product of circumstances. Like I think his dad died when he was young so he was King and then he had like the Cardinal being somewhat manipulative and then in s2 he has Rochefort being like super manipulative.
- Also mentioning the Cardinal, I was disappointed to see he died. With how s1 left off things with him seemed to have potential to get real interesting but ig Capaldi was filming Doctor Who instead? I mean idk for sure coz I don't watch dw, coz reasons, to know the timings of changes but seems right?
- 2x05 was a fucking good episode too, highkey reminded me of Merlin 1x10 with the whole like the gang help arm some peasants to fight off an entitled asshole sort of plot. Musketeers was better though because I like the whole further look at Athos' past thing and the way he gave the peasants the land.
- Also I liked Catherine in 2x05. I also liked the way she came back later on; I appreciate a show with coherent plot lines where actions in one episode come back in another.
- 2x06 was legit my favourite episode. And, yes, I am literally only saying that because of Aramis getting to finally hold the Dauphin because that's!!! his!!! son!!!!
- and then like 2x08. First of all phenomenal stuff with them stopping those assholes who'd kidnapped and tried to sell those girls. Second of all, Porthos! Like he found his father and the like stand off scene with him, his father and Treville. Him shooting his father and calling him out for the fake photo and his lies in general.
- Also similar note when Treville gave Porthos his sword in the last ep, like Treville may not be perfect but he's better to Porthos than Porthos' father.
- then like it gets to the last 2 eps which fucking stressful™
- I can't believe they killed the doctor
- I literally almost thought Constance was gonna die because when I was go ogling her the other day it immediately autofills with 'musketeers Constance death'
- but she lived! And then when she had the sword at theat Spanish dudes throat and when she shot someone back at the palace. Like, D'artagnan had taste, I'll say that much.
- Milady also fucking rocked. She is one of my faves overall and just everything about her was excellent with her helping the others out.
- but also when she was waiting at the carriage for Athos and then when he arrived too late. Absolutely awful stuff. I really hope she won't actually just stay in England coz I want to see her again.
- I feel so bad for Aramis. Like it was bad enough in the beginning of the season with his sad face whenever the Dauphin was around but then like I kinda hate how everyone's initially like mad/blameful that he slept with the queen. Like if I remember correctly his ex-fiance or whatever had just been killed and the Queen initiated it with him more than he did her. Like I know he's a slut but like idk man... He didn't really like go after her himself I guess is what I'm saying.
- Also I hate how the King was able to just publicly have Milady as a mistress but with the queen and Aramis it's treason. I know that's just history but man it sucked.
- I really appreciated how they all had their own storylines within the season tho, like they all had their own things going on within it all
- the queen really grew in me this season, like I already liked her from the end of s1 in particular but she's just such a good character
- Also her stabbing Rochefort in the eye, excellent stuff.
- On the Rochefort note, he gave her the necklace when she was 14 and he was her tutor and he's loved her since then?!???? Like idk how much older that her he is but with him being her tutor I'd guess significantly so, so like nasty creep.
- I am so glad they went after Aramis at the end because if he really became a monk and doesn't show up in s3 I'll lose it.
- final positive note though, D'artagnan and Constance are finally properly together! And they're married! Love that for them.
- wait actual real final note, can't say I'm sad Constance's husband got killed. Did think it was neat that when D'artagnan told her both their hands got covered in his blood. Like how he blamed them as he died, how they kinda blamed themselves. Poetic cinema.

Y: "I feel like the forgiveness is almost harder to deal with. I feel like anger is an emotion that’s easier to deal with because that’s where I live. But I feel like with everyone being so nice and accepting I don’t know how to handle it. I know I’m not handling it well but I’m trying."
And now he’s talking about how even if they can’t wash the blood from their hands they can still use those hands to try to do good, and to do all they can to make the world better and not let the guilt consume them and you know what that is? GROWTH.
Somebody please teach them though that they can be forgiven
Y: "do you love her?"
C: "who?"
Y: "I don’t need to tell you who."
Y: "I’m sorry, it’s just that, I know, as someone who has lost someone, it’s important to say something before it is too late."
C, whispering: "it is too late, Yasha..."
And then he turns away but holds her hand

I refuse to accept his "nobody teaches you how to be a father" excuses and I hope Beau doesn’t either
Like I’m often all here for reconciling with family or whatever but they’ve clearly hurt Beau so badly and she has a better family now
I’m so frustrated with the whole crappy family, but whatever makes Beau happy in the end is what I want
Wow that was some.... heavy stuff and I’m exhausted and it’s not even me I can only imagine how Marisha feels having to act it all out
NOTT that was Amazing "I hope that doesn’t happen to you" damn
Every one of them is telling Thoreau to stop being a shitty dad or else Kinda calling him out on his shit and I’m living for it
Ending on a group hug
God what an episode
They are killing it lately with these hardcore character heavy, emotion heavy episodes

Note
all As for euffie ylfa and ww 😘
Aptitude
1. what are your oc’s naturalabilities, things they’ve been doing since young?
Eustacia: Because of her mother,Una, she's been practicing glamour and cursework since she was achild, but she's had an innate talent for transmogrification magicthat Una never possessed. That lapsed as she grew into adulthood, butit was a good foundation for her chaos magic.
Ylfa: Hunting and acting. Shegrew up with only her mother for company, very isolated in thecountryside, and because of her mother's work (research into theviability of alchemy in a residential setting), she largely had tokeep not only herself entertained, but the both of them fed andclothed. On the entertainment spectrum, this meant lots and lots ofreading and pretend games, playing multiple roles to flesh out herstories. On the practicality end of things, she took up hunting smallgame after being taught by a few traders how to track and use a bow.
Wildwood: As the second youngestof eleven children, with a twin brother that required constant careand attention, Wildwood spent a lot of her time being her mother'sshadow. That meant cleaning, and chores, and laundry. But it alsomeant cooking and playing music. Her earliest and nearly onlyremaining memories of that time are being taught to cook for crowdsand playing her mother's autoharp. When that finally and blessedlywent to shit and she and her mother were rescued, her adoptivefather, Jocko, taught her to play the fiddle.
2. what activities have theyparticipated in?
Eustacia: massive militarycampaigns, guerrilla warfare, black budget operations, regionaldestabilization, “advanced interrogation,” memory retrieval andfabrication, necromancy and ransom, state-sanctioned mass murder, riot suppression, insurrection suppression, leading violentrevolution, participating in the illegal sale of banned magicks, vigilantism. Nothing very good or cheerful.
Ylfa: Court intrigue, in-depthschooling, world traveling, counter-espionage, big-ass bat stunts, giant bat care, formal dance, learning world languages, deep coverespionage, counter-terrorism operations (for lack of a better termig!), mithridatism, selective dog training, getting shoved into avery loveless arranged marriage for political convenience thatneither party wants, warrior monk training, administering religiousrites and ceremonies, being a good kept court monkey for her queenand spitting out as many prophecies as possible.
Wildwood: Her criminal record islong and varied and includes but is not limited to: hostageransoming, bank robbery, horse thievery, identity fraud, dowry fraud, murder, improper disposal of human remains, train robbery, stagecoachrobbery, attempted murder, grand larceny, prostitution, materialproperty scams, assault and battery, assault with a deadly weapon, breaking and entering. On the less illegal side, she has attended twocotillions, plays concert-level violin, competed in shootingcontests, raced horses (both mounted and driven), acted as a honeypotand diversion, and uhhhh orchestrating the personal hygiene of themen in camp bc they fucking STINK.
3. what abilities do they havethat they’ve worked for?
Eustacia: Living a relativelynormal civilian life. From the time she was five, she's either been acriminal accomplice on the lam, an enslaved Black ops soldier, or aguerrilla revolutionary. Having a place that is HERS, that she comesback to everyday and has to maintain is a HELL of a lot differentthan anything she's used to. Not to mention the fact she wasadjusting to life with the better part of her humanity removed fromher body, making her incomprehensible on good days and utterlyvicious on bad ones.
Ylfa: Unlike Euffie, Ylfa had toadjust to enlisted life lol. Hey previous home lives had beenextremely casual, sedate, and private, so getting thrown to thewolves in the form of looots of resentful priestesses (who'd allbusted their ass to join the Beserkr's order, while Ylfa had beenforced in as punishment for a percieved crime) and an obscenely harshtraining regiment very nearly killed her from exhaustion if nothingelse. The loneliness and constant moving didn't help her either.
Wildwood: Sniping, bodydismemberment/disposal, empathy/sympathy. These all have to do witheach other. As a child, one of her older brothers (Atlas, he whocertainly acted like he had the world upon his fuckin' shoulders, andhe who was certainly built like it) put his hand on the back of herhead and smashed her skull against a tree. While it fucked her upphysically (broke her skull, injured her right eye, broke out herlateral incisor), it also gave her lasting brain damage. It becamevery easy for her to kill people because she didn't see them aspeople. She had to work very hard to give a shit about anyone (thatwasn't her mother or adoptive father) as an individual. Over 25+years, some of the damage has healed, and through her own work herempathy has gotten much better, but it's made killing more difficult.
4. what things are they bad at?
Eustacia: Domesticity ): my girlcannot keep a house to save her damn life. She's never stayed oneplace long enough for it to feel like home and she's always watchingthe door for her cue to leave. Her house is messy, dirty, anddisorganized and feels deeply, deeply impersonal. She simply doesn'tcare about the place she lives. Minor thingsshe's bad at: playing musical instruments, cooking food that is notbreakfast related, remembering important dates, self-restraint,healthy coping mechanisms, wearing colors that aren't black.
Ylfa: She'sabsolutely terrible at being her genuine self. She got too used totrying to be helpful or unobtrusive or sneaky, and as a result shebends her personality to best match whoever she's interacting with. It's gotten to the point that she thinks she doesn't actually have apersonality of her own--she's doesn't exist outside of whoever she'spretending to be for someone else, and she doesn't know who Ylfa issupposed to be. Minor things: consistently lies, doing laundry (hasdestroyed many sets of robes), disciplining her dog (Jokeri is aspoiled little tyrant and it's only tolerated because he's tiny),respecting books (serial spine-breaker and dog-earrer), makingfriends, respecting (or even remembering the names of) the othergods, huge blasphemer.
Wildwood: Woodputs the needs of others ahead of her own and if that isn't just asMary Sue-ish as shit. But it's ruinous and gets to the point ofself-destruction, literally forgoing basic self-care to tend to anylittle thing asked of her, leading to big, BIG fuck-ups as a resultof the neglect and wear. Most often this leads to exhaustion andfatigue, leaving her close to functionally useless when shit hits thefan. Minor things: she pinballs between booze hounding/cocainefiending and sobriety, is religiously intolerant of most Christiandenominations outside of Catholicism, says odd oblique shit ALL THETIME, double-talks, can certainly be cruel for the sake of beingcruel, gets entitled and aggressive when challenged or has factsthrown in her face.
5. what is their most impressivetalent?
Eustacia: this bitch has created LIFE. It was ugly andan abomination and she crushed it was a book, but the little freakmistake did live for a minute, and it was a result of her chaosmagic. Making something out of the nothing that is the universe'svast untapped stores of energy.
Ylfa: Ylfa is an *astonishing* airborne mounted archer, hitting targets from a distance of half a mile while flying at topspeed in the dark. She can also tie cherry stems in knots with hertongue and can pick locks faster than anyone she knows.
Wildwood: Besides being able to dismember an grown manin ten minutes and being able to land a headshot at almost a mile, she has a drinking toast for every occasion and can cook a full-onspread for 20 people with little to no notice if called upon.
#dog bless theia this was v helpful in informing these binches :***#oc: eustacia#oc: ylfa#oc: wildwood#unseeliequeens

Advanced Cicerone Chris Leguizamon Is Using Beer Education to Make the World a Better Place
It was the two-hour bus ride to and from his previous job at Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, Calif., that gave Chris Leguizamon time to become one of only two Advanced Cicerones in San Diego. Armed with a collection of beer magazines and books like Randy Mosher’s “Tasting Beer: An Insider’s Guide to the World’s Greatest Drink,” Leguizamon honed his expertise as a craft beer expert, eventually becoming the education program manager at Pure Project, a 1% for the Planet Company and certified carbon and plastic-neutral organization known for ultra-complex and highly sought-after brews. He shares his knowledge with beer drinkers of all levels through an Instagram livestream series under his account @chris.thebeereducator, with a goal of helping San Diego become home to the most Cicerone-certified front-of-house staff anywhere else in the world.
Sharing knowledge comes naturally to Leguizamon. As a former brewery tour guide for six years, as well as a first generation Latino/Hispanic American with a degree in physics and passion for renewable energy, he’s as well versed in discussions about the diversity in beer styles as he is about diversity and social justice. After the #BlackoutTuesday initiative permeated Instagram last June, Leguizamon says he found himself avoiding discussions about beer in order to focus on conversations around equity (and the lack thereof) outside the beer industry.
“I could not fathom educating people about anything that pertains to this fizzy carbonated beverage without addressing real social issues, because that’s what the world is going through,” Leguizamon says. When responding to critics who say breweries should “stick to beer,” he says, “If you just think that life is about beer, you’re missing the point … Beer is made by someone with hands, that’s working, that also has three kids — there’s more to it [than beer].”
With Pure Project’s backing, Leguizamon shifted his educational efforts online. (He calls his employer “the best leadership company I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”) In the following interview, Leguizamon discusses his entry into beer, his upward trajectory, and his desire to empower others to make their own impacts.
Ed. note: This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
1. How, when, and why did you get into beer?
When I was 15, I was visiting my uncle in Bogota, Colombia. I’d never really had beer besides like, family gatherings when you’re like two years old (laughs). He brought in a mixed 6-pack, sits it right down in the living room, and says, ‘Chris, today we’re gonna drink the products of our country.’ He presented one — Club Colombia, which has won a bunch of awards — and told me to look at the color (yellow, fizzy, straw-like), smell it, and then I tasted it. It was nothing like soda, and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, God, this sucks!’
The second beer was Poker, and it had this attractive amber hue to it. The two didn’t look the same at all, so I tried it and it had this recognizable toast that reminded me of breakfast with my mom, and a touch of caramel. Colombians are attracted to caramel because of our obsession with arequipe. We put that on everything, so right away I thought it was way better than the other one.
At that point, I went down a rabbit hole of: Why does beer taste different? There are cultures behind this. There are centuries of science and art. I began wanting to read, wanting to learn, and indirectly change the stigma of what a Latino or a guy that looks like me is in beer. I’m a brown-skinned kid from one of the poorest cities in the nation (Reading, Pa.) and I want people to have a ‘Oh, holy smokes, this kid knows his stuff!’ type of mentality.
2. So when did you formally enter the beer industry?
In 2014, I worked at a brewpub in Pennsylvania called Chatty Monks, and at that point I was the only non-family member that was on staff; it was just a staff of six, including the three owners. I was this bushy, big-eyed 21-year-old, excited to finally be in craft beer and I would sing praises about flavors, pairings, and there came a point where like the guests were looking at me and they’re like, ‘Dude, it’s just beer. Why do you have so much passion behind this?’ It got to a point where I became an outlier in my own industry-slash-town. So I thought, ‘I’m gonna move to the place I like to vacation, which is San Diego,’ and I did in 2014. I remember thinking, ‘Holy shit, these people get it.’ I worked at Mission Brewery as a tour guide until 2015, moved to Stone Brewing until 2016, and then AleSmith Brewing Company until early 2019.
3. You’ve worked at a few big name breweries in San Diego. But you’ve talked about getting burnt out on the industry after a couple of negative encounters. What kept you in beer?
In 2019, I wanted to leave the beer industry, defeated. I was like, ‘Maybe I could get into bourbon, maybe get into coffee’ … but Kira Bouchard [currently the regional manager at Pure Project], who is my saving grace, was having coffee with me and asked what ‘beer adventures’ I was having. When I told her I was considering leaving the industry altogether, she encouraged me to apply to Pure Project, despite there being no open positions at the time.
Things fell into place: Someone left, I applied. I went through the whole interview process and the rest is history. I went from not wanting to smell a beer or talk about it to signing up for the Advanced Cicerone exam three months later.
4. What was the [Advanced Cicerone] exam study process like?
I studied for five hours a day. I would wake up at 5:30 a.m., put a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich in the microwave, and then coffee. I’d just sit there every single morning and by 6 a.m. the books were open. I sacrificed a lot. I’ve missed out on a lot, but that determination kind of got me back into the rhythm.
5. Why is beer education so important to you?
I’m very team-oriented, and I hate when people talk down to beertenders or try to stump them, mainly because of gender. That ticks me off. A lot of people try to stump [female bartenders] and I can’t stand that, so I want to empower everyone to be able to hold their own.
6. After you achieved Advanced Cicerone, how did you start to share your knowledge?
We at Pure Project all push each other to be better, and the way that it evolved was I was homebrewing this BrewDog beer through their DIY Dog program [an annual compilation of open-source homebrew recipes], and I asked Mike Czech [Pure Project director of distribution], ‘What if we do something like this at Pure Project? We’re releasing two new beers every two weeks. What if you announce the title, the ABV, and three important keywords the beertenders can use?’ But Mike tailored it so well; he cut out the fluff. I’m very raw with my ideas and I need someone to edit, and Mike made it happen.
At the same time, Matt [Robar, Pure’s co-founder] saw potential in me because I was a tour guide for so long. He asked me to jump on an IG Live, since we were about to release Hazelsaurus Rex and a barrel-aged sour. It was one of the rawest IG Lives ever, I’d never had the two beers and Winslow [Sawyer, Pure’s head brewer], who is like a foot taller than me, pours the beers and my face lights up. I’m just geeking out. When we cut, they thought I did a pretty good job, so they asked me to do it again the next week. And it went from there!
7. How did that segment on Pure Project’s Instagram transform into what you’re personally doing, and how did it change during Covid-19?
I started a beer account called Chris the Beer Educator, and the first video you find is literally me in the back of my girlfriend’s backyard, laying out the intention of this whole virtual education thing. It was literally just to highlight everyone who got me to the point where I’m at now — never to focus on me; it’s to highlight other people and what they’re doing.
Then Covid hits and I’m sitting there antsy, wanting to keep teaching people about beer. So this spawned off that IG Live that Pure Project had me do for a couple months. I thought if I can convince people to read one of the most fundamental books, which is ‘Tasting Beer,’ then hopefully people will follow along. It made me want to read that book again, and it kind of grew into its own beast.
Weirdly, people have told me I built a brand. I didn’t mean to — I literally just wanted to empower people that were just at home during quarantine, not knowing what the world is gonna look like, to read ‘Tasting Beer’ and show how amazing San Diego beer professionals are. It’s San Diego craft beer in its rawest form.
8. What’s one episode that stands out to you?
When George [Thornton, owner of Home Brewing Company] and I were talking, things were flowing, and we were talking about Black is Beautiful — that was just the most human side of me, and George. There was a lot of frustration with what’s happening in the world, a lot of ‘How can people not just want to listen?’ George and I had that one moment where we both had pain, we both had frustration, and this was the least we could do being beer professionals, just being human, is telling people, ‘Listen, we know that you feel attacked, but just stop yelling back — just listen, learn, read a book about what’s happening. Try to understand people’s perspective that you don’t understand. They’re not part of the same walk as you. Celebrate that diversity as we like to celebrate diversity in beer styles.’
9. Ultimately, what’s your goal in the beer industry?
The main goal of Chris the Beer Educator is to have everyone pass their Certified Cicerone and to get that Level 2. I’ve always, always, always wanted to have people go from Level 1 to Level 2 and say, Chris was that person when everyone else says ‘Just do it yourself,’ he didn’t mind that I messaged him and said, ‘Hey could you clear up this section for me?’
I asked a lot of people for help during the Advanced Cicerone studying, and I got a good amount of ‘nos.’ Then there’s those people that mentored me, and I want to be that person for San Diego, so that we have the most Certified Cicerones, the most [Advanced] Cicerones, and ideally the most Master Cicerones in the nation. Imagine San Diego not just having the most amount of breweries — that’s nice — but the most educated staff anywhere, where everyone’s really on top of their game. Making it both female and male, Latino, person of color, Black, Asian, whatever it may be to diversify. That’s the dream, honestly.

That’s the dream, honestly.

never mind i’m definitely getting up out of here by dating a r*ch man. all i wanted was emotional intelligence, a calm and loving masculinity and understanding. and the new mgtow/incels are just christianity obsessed men who tell men they should strive to become r*ch, hardened, logical, not porn addicted, physically strong, wanting virgins/younger women, etc etc. like a good amount of mgtow niggas went from defending porn and p*dohohilia in media to taking things women always wanted from men (security, happiness, care) and framing in a way, that achieving those things is actually spiting women because most women also call for kindness and chivalry and that’s emasculanizing men and that’s just not right to y’all lol. we need cave men leaders and “gentleman” husbands, what he says goes. no questions.
like women don’t wanna suffer or get traumatized. that’s what started this “kill all men” thing. even at the hands of the ‘bad boys’ or guys who are strong that they get abused by,, they still want them to die and despise them?? like why strive to emulate that? because at least they’re getting laid? women hate all of y’all, all of y’all were misogynistic. the nerds, the edge lords, the jocks. but pushing men to this is odd because without the emotional work or love, if you become abusive, you will be rightfully hated too.
is it always the side that claims to be logically superior stealing and going by intellectual thought of the people they despise? republicans w the “obama is a war criminal” which they got from teenage anarchists and leftists, men w the “one gender is actually oppressed more then the other still to this day in the west” but instead of women it’s them, those ‘free thinker’ kinda men w the men are trash and the reason behind their own faults but now with the twist of “yes mostly other men but especially women caused you to be this way”.
like i remember it was such a big deal when girlfriends got mad about their boyfriends/men watching porn obsessively. then a few years ago i realized it become the core value other incels hated the ig incels for. they couldn’t just not acknowledge how pathetic their own side became and always was. so then they switched it from “i can get a gf, this is unfair! men’s masculinity is declining! get off the game, stop watching liberal media, yell at your sister, stop being a coomer, etc”
of course the nasty attitude towards women didn’t change but i remember seeing that and thinking, y’all all mentally challenged but the latter is slightly more right. women will date anything, go shower.
now these nights went int their final form. “saving” men from the thresholds of themselves and framing it as rescue from society and women. their obsession w x,y, and z causes them to be losers. but they need motivation to be better. it can just be for self. they have to be on the fringe at all times, even when it comes to healing. so now they’re against mainstream media because they lift weights as a white american man...
anyways all women wanted from y’all was to be nicer and less shitty. and those guys said. “money, discipline, monk teachings, no porn, rigid structures, christianity, getting ripped, learning how to flirt the old fashioned way, becoming a “great” man to get a great women (of course this is all relative to how they see a great man) etc etc” is the only way to be better. and it’s like.. half of that shit y’all didn’t even come up with. y’all were all for men till y’all saw you were your own enemies and now you still shift blame. i’m not an inherently shallow person of caring abt financial stability as a woman is shallow. i always pointed out even at 14 how even the most feminist of women wanted to in some way submit to men, but it had to be the right one, a good one. they didn’t want to ursurp guys or “destroy masculinity”, they’re anger you to fill the roles correctly or even a little bit, and not abuse us. maybe these guys heard that and this is their interpretation. so crazy how the divest movement and this shit is both so popular at the same time.
a lot of the things that guy said i disagreed w but a lot of it is just christian, or subconscious things we all believe.
i want a guy to protect me
i want a beautiful woman
i want a guy who’s ambitious and confident
and now adhering or even relating to that is seen as being apart of that whole way of thinking. all in all it’s sick but i can’t expect men to fully just be better, it was always gonna be some fuck shit. as a whole this is still (it hurts to say) light years better then the current. especially the p*rn condemnation because men seem to have no self control when it comes to that shit and letting it affect how they treat and view their partners.
if this is the direction society is headed then... ok. i have no opinion because i cannot change it. i don’t wanna be in the dating pool who’s self confidence and strength cane from anon weirdos on twt who knows what the word “loli” is from personal past experience. i need a guy removed from all of that,, so it looks like i’m back in the dating up league (which was always gonna happen because women date way older then them and men go into fields that pay way more. so again idk how the pointing out of dating up financially is attributed to this “see! women are so simple. they never cared abt poor men”. it’s literally bound to happen. esp if you date 18 year old girls, how do you expect them to earn more than you?) first and foremost i want a loving man. true love. i wish i would be able to find that w a poor man. but trauma doesn’t bring out empathy in men, it’s a red flag and getting ran through to find a 100% good man (you won’t) in poverty will get you laughed at in the end cause those guys want virgins.
ugh i can wait to be w a real successful man and not larping losers who care about that in that way. like i love my religion and think a lot of people are broken because of sex and sex w you’re one partner is a sure way to avoid and dodge trauma and baggage which is why EYE am personally doing it. God predicted y’all were trash and damn near none of y’all are worthy of me. but the way some christians on reddit and twitter say things is so repulsive. damn near nauseating. i hope they find what they’re looking for though. weirdos.

Baze Malbus
You quietly tiptoed down the street, pulling your coat tighter over your body. It was so dark you could barely see your own feet as you shuffled down the road. You paused in front of one of the houses, quietly knocking on the door. You bit your lip, debating if you should turn around, when the door opened.
“y/n?” Baze’s low voice whispered, and you shyly tugged at your sleeves.
“I-I had a nightmare.” your voice trembled slightly. “I just wanted to be with someone.”
Baze stepped aside immediately, wrapping a protective arm around you as he poked his head out the door to make sure no one was outside. He closed the door behind you and guided him deeper into the house. He opened the door to his bedroom and guided you to the bed, pulling up a chair and sitting besides you.
“You can sleep in my bed.” he said softly. “I’ll just sit here.”
You sat cross legged on the bed as Baze pulled the blanket over your lap. He hesitated before reaching out to hold your hand, which you held onto tightly.
“Thank you, Baze.” you whispered, knowing Chirrut was probably asleep somewhere and not wanting to disturb him. “Sorry that I-”
“I’ll always be here for you, y/n, no need to apologize.” he insisted, and you blushed in the darkness. He reached out and touched your cheek gently, and he could feel you smiling. He leaned over to kiss your forehead, but you moved your face up to meet his lips. It was brief and soft and the two of you pulled away, flushing immensely.
“I’ve kinda been wanting to do that for a while now.” you admitted quietly, and Baze chuckled.
“Yeah, me too.”
Bodhi Rook
“y/n, help me! I’m freaking out!”
Amused, you looked up from the computer you were typing at to see your best friend, Bodhi, pacing up and down the ship.
“Well that’s nothing new.” you smirked, punching in one final key before leaning back in your chair to raise and eyebrow at Bodhi.
“I have no idea why Cassian dragged me out on this mission.” Bodhi groaned. “There is no way I’m going to be able to impersonate an Imperial officer and be able to get away with it!”
“Look, if Cassian trusts you to do it, then you probably can.” you tried to console him, but Bodhi shook his head. Pouting, you folded your arms. “Fine, don’t believe me.”
You, Cassian, Bodhi and K-2SO were out on a mission to infiltrate an Imperial base. The four of you were supposed to sneak in and dismantle the security systems so another squad of Rebels could enter and launch and ambush. Cassian had briefed the two of you on the plan already: you and K-2SO would stay on the ship while Cassian and Bodhi would go deactivate the systems. Everyone seemed pretty calm, except Bodhi.
“I’m going to ruin the mission! I’m going to get us all killed!” Bodhi walked back and forth, and you stood up and walked towards him. He was staring at the floor, not noticing you coming closer. “Maybe Cassian, could just go by himself and-”
“Bodhi!” you exclaimed, suddenly grabbing his shoulders. He stared at you with wide eyes, still shaking his head.
“Do you think Cassian could go alone? I think-” he blabbered before you cut him off by leaning over and kissing him. You could feel Bodhi freeze, before slowly relaxing and placing his hands on your waist.
“Calmer now?” you teased as you pulled away, and Bodhi dumbly nodded.
“Y-yeah, thanks for that, y/n.” he blushed, before the two of you were distracted by the sound of K-2 making gagging sounds and Cassian clapping while smugly smiling at the two of you.
Cassian Andor
“y/n? Dammit, answer me!” Cassian yelled into his radio, anxiously running his hands through his hair. The only response he received was the sound of static. Throwing his headset across the room, he yelled in frustration and slammed his fists on the desk, causing some of the Rebels next to him to jump.
“C-Captain...” one of the Rebel attempted to calm him down, but Cassian ignored him and buried his face into his hands.
“I knew I should’ve gone with them!” Cassian exclaimed, balling his hands into fists. “Now I’ve lost contact with them!”
“We’re trying everything we can to regain contact with their ship.” one of the Rebels muttered, typing away furiously. Cassian got up and stood behind him, leaning over his shoulder to look at the console. He became fixated on the blinking red light, which was your ship’s signal. He prayed it would turn green, but it remained red.
“Do not take your eyes off that screen!” Cassian demanded, trying to contact you from his tablet again. The Rebel had just begun typing something when his screen suddenly lit up and beeped. Cassian’s head jerked up and he snatched the headset off the Rebel’s head, immediately opening the call.
“y/n! Are you there?” he almost cried from joy when he heard your shaky breathing on the other end.
“Cassian...” you began. “We’re about to crash into the base.”
“What?” Cassian exclaimed, but was cut off from the sounds of yelling. He ran into the main hangar just in time to see your ship shakily land on it’s nose and skid forward, with half the wing set on fire. There was a crowd already forming, but Cassian didn’t hesitate to sprint forward with a medic team. The ship’s door heaved open, and you stumbled out with Jyn. The two of you limped forward before you collapsed, and Jyn fell into the arms of one of the medics. Cassian rushed to your side, grabbing your face in his hands. Before you could say anything, he crashed his lips against yours and held you tightly.
“Hey,” you gasped, pulling away. “Give me a moment to breathe.”
“I don’t ever want to lose you.” Cassian whispered, pressing his forehead against yours. Grinning weakly, you wrapped your arms around him and buried your face into his chest.
“I’m not going anywhere, Cassian.”
Chirrut Imwe
You tossed a fruit at Chirrut, which he deftly caught, and lowered yourself onto the curb. The two of you were sitting at the edge of the city, snacking on some local fruit as you waited for Baze to return. You leaned against the wall as the monk sat next to you, balancing his staff in between his legs.
“You know,” you spoke up, biting into the fruit. “There’s gotta be something you haven’t done before.”
“What do you mean, y/n?” Chirrut responded, amused. You rolled your eyes, giving him a playful shove.
“You’re blind yet you can fight better than everyone on this planet!” you exclaimed. “But I bet there’s something you can’t do. You can’t be that amazing.”
“Try me.” Chirrut challenged, an amused grin spreading across his face.
“Have you ever... walked on a tightrope?” you shrugged.
“Not specifically, but I have walked on a path that less than a foot wide, and if I slipped I would’ve fell to my death.” Chirrut responded, biting into his fruit.
“Close enough.” you groaned, crossing your arms. “Have you ever fired a sniper rifle?”
“Of sorts.”
“But how can you even see what you’re shooting at?”
“I use the Force, y/n.”
Sighing, you threw the pit of the fruit out and kicked at the dirt. Blushing, you cast a sideways glance at Chirrut.
“Have you ever kissed anyone, Chirrut?”
“I-” he began to talk, but his voice faltered. He rubbed his hands and stared straight ahead, and a silence descended between the two of you.
“No need to be ashamed.” you joked, and Chirrut chuckled. “Well, I’ve never kissed anyone.”
“Should we take care of that now, then?” Chirrut suddenly piped up, and you blinked in surprise.
“S-sure.” you stammered, and Chirrut turned and slowly reached his hand out to touch your cheek. He paused, before leaning towards you and kissing you quickly. The two of you hesitated, his hand still on his cheek, before slowly leaning towards each other again.
“Well,” Baze’s voice suddenly rang out, causing you to jerk away from Chirrut. He smirked at you as you blushed and Chirrut grinned. “This was not what I was expecting to see when I returned.”
Jyn Erso
You grabbed Jyn’s hand and dragged her to hide under one of the desks just as Cassian bursted into the room. You clapped a hand over Jyn’s mouth to stifle her giggles and the two of you held your breath. Cassian surveyed the dimly lit room, before closing the door and stormed down the corridor. As his footsteps grew fainter, you suddenly felt your hand become wet.
“Gross!” you yelped, jerking your hand away from Jyn’s face when you realized she had just licked you. Bursting into laughter, Jyn gave you a playful punch.
“Cassian almost caught you!” she teased, and you scoffed.
“Well, he didn’t, and that’s all that matters.” you grinned, putting on his leather jacket which you had stolen from him. “Alright, your turn. Truth or dare?”
“Hmm,” you could hear Jyn readjusting her position in the darkness. “Truth.”
“Gosh, you’re boring.” you groaned as you tried to think of a question to ask her. “Should we just go for the classic ‘truth’ question? Alright: who do you like?”
You could see Jyn smirk in the dim light as she leaned towards you, her eyes glittering.
“You.”
You could feel your jaw go slack as you gaped at her, struggling to find words to respond to her.
“Wh-what?” you stammered, and Jyn sat back, grinning.
“No more questions, you already asked one!” she folded her arms. “Truth or dare, y/n?”
“Dare.” you responded, still trying to process what Jyn had just told you. You had a major crush on Jyn ever since you met her, did she really just admit she had a crush on you too? It seemed too good to be true. She grinned widely at you again.
“I dare you to kiss me.” she raised an eyebrow, and you blushed. You slowly leaned towards her, and she laughed and grabbed your collar. “Too slow.”
She pressed her lips against yours, and the both of you closed your eyes. You could feel yourself melting into her touch before she finally let go of your collar and the two of you pulled away slightly. Smiling widely, she brushed her hair out of her eyes before the two of you began kissing again.
Orson Krennic
Krennic knocked on your door, his other hand balled into a fist. No one responded, and he pounded on the door again.
“y/n!” he yelled, causing some of the stormtroopers to glance over. “Open up!”
“Calm down!” you yelled back before the door slid open. “I was working, sorry.”
Krennic pushed past you and entered your room, sitting on the edge of the bed. He buried his face in his hands, running his hands through his hair. Concerned, you closed the door and gingerly sat next to him, placing your hand on his shoulder.
Whenever Krennic was stressed, he always came to your room because you always managed to calm him down. You were a low ranking officer, but Krennic saw lots of potential in you.
“Tarkin is getting on my last nerve.” Krennic spat, and you would’ve laughed if he wasn’t so angry. Half the time Krennic was here, it was because of Tarkin. “I swear, I’m going to-”
“Hey, hey.” you ran your hand up and down his back. “Calm down, don’t let your anger get in the way of your work.”
“He keeps testing me.” Krennic growled. “He keeps agitating me and pushing me.”
“And are you going to let him get to you?” you raised an eyebrow at him, and Krennic sighed. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.”
“How are you so patient with me, y/n?” Krennic looked at you, and you shrugged.
“I care about you, I guess.” you gave him a small smile, and Krennic smiled back at you.
“I care about you too.” Krennic put his hand on your knee, and you blushed.
“Th-thank you.” you stammered. You knew Krennic was softer with you than the other officers, but hearing it from him made you feel fluttery inside. The two of you stared at each other, uncertain of what to do, before Krennic suddenly leaned towards you and gently kissed you. Your eyes widened in disbelief, before you slowly relaxed.
“What are you smiling about?” Krennic mumbled as he pulled away slightly, but you could feel his lips moving as he talked.
“Just shut up and kiss me again.” you whispered, pulling him closer to you.

What better place to try meditation than with community at Wanderlust 108? If you’re in Tampa or Austin, join us for our remaining 2018 US 108s, or stay tuned for exciting news coming in early 2019. See you on the mat!
We’ve all heard that daily meditation is helpful for our mental and physical health, but between rushing around at work and the never-ending chore list at home, the intention to sit quietly evaporates. But meditation is much easier to slide into a routine than you might think, even if you’re swamped with work. Even just 5 minutes of sitting still in silence can reap major benefits to our mental health.
I wasn’t a believer until I went on a yoga and meditation retreat in the California mountains with my sister. By day five, my NYC stresses felt manageable and even better, I felt capable of tackling them. Which got me thinking—I can’t be the only one to benefit from this. Many of my friends my age also suffer from chronic stress and anxiety, whether that be due to feeling overworked, a lack of sleep, or money troubles.
Meditation: A Millennial’s Perfect Practice
According to a recent NYT article, millennials are the most stressed generation our world has ever seen. Thanks to longer work days, constant connectivity via iPhones and email, and the ambitious urge to get ahead, it’s no wonder why we feel this unsurmountable level of stress.
Enter meditation as a useful tool to combat all the inconveniences of the millennial life. Not only does a daily meditation practice reduce stress, it’s also a great way to combat screen time. Millennials are constantly on their smartphones, at their computers or, even if they don’t have their phone in their hands, they’re thinking about all the work emails they’re missing. Meditation encourages you to unplug from electronics and plug into you time.
Have you ever eaten your entire lunch in front of the computer, only to feel hungry and reach for a chocolate protein an hour later? An unfortunate byproduct of stress is overeating, which also dogs many millennials. By promoting more self-awareness and mindfulness, meditation allows us to bring insight into our daily food choices and not act out of impulse or routine, but rather, to consider each choice in the moment.
Another perk for us thrifty folk? Meditation is totally free, or at least fairly inexpensive. It’s a cost-effective way to really harness your emotions and thoughts and to reroute them into positive thinking. Consider how much you pay for a monthly gym membership for the endorphins benefit, and compare that with the bliss you feel with meditation.
Perhaps you love to travel, or are one of those millennials living out of a backpack or hopping from train station to train station. Another added benefit is that you can do it anywhere. Legendary Buddhist Thich Nhat Than meditates literally anywhere—desserts, airport terminals, or even restaurants. We’re not advocating meditation where you don’t feel comfortable, but the point is that you can tap into yourself anyplace you feel the need.
Ready to get started? Follow a few of our simple steps to incorporate meditation into your life and within a few days, you may find yourself a little calmer, a little happier, and all around more positive.
Get comfy.
Keeping your mind still is hard enough, so ditch the idea you have to sit on the floor. Sitting on a chair with your feet firmly planted on the floor and knees at a 90-degree angle works just as well.
Declutter.
There’s a reason feng shui is so popular—a cluttered space doesn’t often lead to relaxing thoughts. Try dedicating one uncluttered area of your home to your meditation practice. The key aspect here is to make it a space you want to spend time in.
Start small.
Back in my apartment post-yoga retreat, I found it much harder to sit still for large periods of time, so I cut my meditation time down to 10 minutes. Surely, I thought, I could sit quietly for ten minutes. As I became more comfortable, I slowly began to add time to my practice. It doesn’t matter how much time you start with, the point is that you’re setting aside time for yourself.
Focus on breathing.
Meditation isn’t so much about turning your mind off (who can do that, anyway?), but it’s really about being present in your life. Some people recite mantras while practicing (the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Than recommends the mantra, “Breathing in, I calm my body; breathing out, I smile,” but I find counting to be helpful until I get into a groove.
Meditate with a friend.
Anxious to meditate alone? Bring along a buddy! Sit together for ten minutes, and then discuss afterwards how you both felt. Just like working out in pairs brings additional commitment, so does meditation, so don’t go at it alone!
Take a class.
Thanks to the growing popularity of meditation, there are tons of classes you can take, including online challenges, which are super beneficial to a millennial’s schedule. The guided group meditation allows you to truly let go of anxiety and grow your practice around a group of like-minded beginners.
What are you waiting for? Get cozy on the mat and let your busy mind unwind.
