I reblogged that post the other day about never finishing video games and it made me stop and think hard about my life and the fact that. oh my god....... I really DO never finish video games........... So I have changed my ways by finishing up Chapter 4 and the ending of Chaos route for Tactics Ogre! Tons of endgame spoilers ahead but here are my bullet-pointed highlights:
My guy Azelstan the pirate! I love him. His whole arc with losing his daughter reminded me a little of Svarog and Hossabara from Triangle Strategy (albeit with substantially more nihilism!), and finding him at the port and then going through the story with the girl he takes under his wing made me die a little inside.
I do really appreciate the fact that even once he joins you he's still a little bit of a mess! I feel like a lot of the characters join Denam out of anger or honor or something else equally passionate, and meanwhile Azelstan's out here going "I've lost everything I love and this is just a decent way to try and make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else." He's simply a very sad old man and I love him a lot
This is not a highlight per se but it IS funny: I had to play the whole pirate cove dungeon where you recruit him like three or four times because I kept thinking I had the recruitment conditions fulfilled and then. did not in fact have the recruitment conditions fulfilled. I killed SO many ghosts. I got to the point where I just bought like 30 exorcism arcanas before going in so I could just have anyone regardless of cleric status blast the stilled undead whenever I needed to
AUGHKDHJSHDGHJJS. I am. SO unwell about the Sherri recruitment scene. I cannot express just how much I am unwell about the Sherri recruitment scene. All the Phoraena sisters really are so cool and good and I spontaneously combust whenever they come on screen but this scene is just AUUUUUGH........ It kills me thinking about how long Sherri's been hiding out because she doesn't think anyone will welcome her back and meanwhile her sisters just!!! love her so much!!!!!!!!!! and SHE loves THEM so much!!!!!! it just makes me go woaugh..........
I also just replayed some of the earlier chapters with Cerya and Cistina to test out the endgame rewind feature, and I take back my little chart I made of them a while back where they're arguing over clothes and things. All of the sisters are defined first and foremost by Being Willing To Sacrifice Everything For Each Other and I love them so much about it
And in addition to all the Phoraena sister dynamics, looking at this scene through the perspective of Denam ALSO having a sister who's keeping herself apart because she feels unloved is so. wowowowow
And on that note Denam and Catiua are rotating around in my head 24/7!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really so in love with how far the writers went with their argument and fallout and also insane about the bad ending in this scenario because AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!?!?!?!?! and also I'm just a sucker for guilt arcs and having to live with mistakes even when it'd be easier not to. Catiua's absolutely insane (affectionate) and I think it's so fun how she changes things around and really comes into her own after this.
Also I really really love that the two of them got to have such a narratively clear conversation about everything that went down!!!!! This is a complete tangent but I sometimes kind of go insane over the fact that in Triangle Strategy we really don't get to see a ton of Roland and Cordelia after they reunite and Whiteholm is retaken. They have. so many things to talk about, and Cordelia has more than a few valid reasons to feel resentment toward Roland for the way he handled retaking Whiteholm. The closest they come to really talking about how they feel is that scene where they're standing in the garden and Roland's trying to explain why he killed Avlora and Cordelia just kinda quietly goes, "I know. I get it. I can't blame you." And while that scene is fun in its own "this bad boy can fit SO many emotionally traumatized Cordelia headcanons in it" sort of way, it's also so so so nice to see Denam and Catiua do the opposite and actually sit down and hash it out for a bit. They get to talk about why they're angry!!! They both get to explain themselves and then reassure each other that they're still loved!!!! They get to be genuinely close again and work as a team!!!!! and I love that for them :)
Also with comparisons to Cordelia, Catiua very distinctly doesn't get sidelined after Denam rescues her!!!! She's an active participant in the war and really takes charge over Denam, which is very neat imo, and I love getting to see her coronation and speech at the end
THIS ATTACK SPECIFICALLY. The whole final boss was so cool but I actually gasped and sat back when I saw this, it was just so so different than any of the other graphics in the game and it made me go nuts
AAAAOAUGH GHAGHG
The credits are really pretty :)
RHCKCHHGLGLRLRLAHHJG I am once again foaming at the mouth about the way the game blends game mechanics and story this is SUCH a fun explanation for how the whole world tarot system works and also I am absolutely gutted by the idea of Denam doing this canonically because he can't stand the regret of the choices he's had to make. I feel like Denam's guilt over the entire conflict isn't explicitly mentioned a ton (he actively makes a lot of comments to the effect of "I'm doing what my honor dictates and I have nothing to be ashamed of") and then every once in a while the game comes back and slaps you with stuff like this. Like hey. hey. yasumi matsuno. can we talk? I jst wantto talkk
Also all the endgame content is SO GOOD. I'm starting to move over to Reborn because I want to experience all the voice acting and stuff over on that version, but it's also so hard to leave my team and all the cool stuff I've unlocked. I need to read up on it more but I'm 90% sure you can recruit Lancelot and Warren if you do the Palace of the Dead stuff which I avoided in Chapter 4, so I'm tempted to go back and do that on there sometime. Or mayhaps I'll just play it through on Reborn once I get through Lawful and Neutral!
But yeah!!! Overall, such a fun route and a fun game and a fun ending :) I do feel like I want to come back to Chaos route once I've finished the other two, because I miss Vyce and the role-playing part of my RPG-obsessed brain really wants him to survive the canon-ish ending because I think there's a ton of things from the beginning of the route that I'll think differently on now that I've finished (like all of the stuff building up to Vyce going nuts and Catiua leaving).

[FIC] to be royalty
Summary:
House Wolffort has successfully driven back Avlora and the Aesfrosti army, yet Roland is still troubled. Frederica finds him deep in thought and the two discuss support and strength.
Word Count: 1,501
read on ao3
Excerpt:
Roland can’t sleep.
He stares up at the ceiling of his room in Castle Wolffort. It’s not unfamiliar — several times as a child he’d spent the night in Serenoa’s home — but he’s used to this sight being by choice, not necessity.
Yet it’s not entirely by necessity, isn’t it? If the others had simply listened to him when the Scales were brought out, his view would be of…well, he’s not sure where Gustadolph would’ve put him, but the view would’ve undoubtedly been different.
And that’s why, instead of all the other reasons that have caused him difficulty in sleep as of late, he cannot rest tonight. After the vote, after his initial fears of the troubles their decision would bring, Roland had thought he was ready for the inevitable battle.
He’d been wrong.
It’s stupid, because they won. All things considered, the losses could have been far worse. They didn’t even have to use any of the fire traps. But it’s knowing what could have been: any one of his companions killed, him being captured after a long and bloody battle for naught, homes of civilians burned for nothing more than a desperate grasp at an advantage. All in his name. All because the world has determined he matters more than anything and anyone else.
Yet while it could have been worse, many still lost limbs or lives. The fact that even one drop of blood had been spilled in his name when it didn’t have to be hurts like a physical wound. No doubt his father or Frani wouldn’t have been bothered like this. As if Roland needs any more reminders that he’s not ready for — let alone worthy of — the throne, providing there’s even one left at the end of this for him to take. Providing he survives.
And what right does he have to be disturbed when Cordelia is still at Whiteholm?
#roland glenbrook#frederica aesfrost#triangle strategy#tristrat#triangle strategy fanfic#my writing#i should probably be concerned by how easy it is for me to write characters beating themselves up internally but [shrug emoji]#anyways this was in my head for ages after my second playthrough with the scene where frederica is like. dude. we're with you.#but i didn't get around to writing it until this third playthrough#we'll see if any of the other tristrat fic ideas that lived in my brain for a bit will emerge some day

Roland for the character ask game? :)
:D
First impression
I latched onto Roland instantly. This was back with the debut demo (the chapter 6-7 one), so I got a good peek at his early game angst, and boy, did I want to see him break. I could tell he was already slotting into that role.
And I only got more interested after he was pointed out to be wearing Maxwell's mask in an early trailer. Masked men my beloveds.
Impression now
I wanted him to break, and break he hecking did. I'm a huge fan of his tragic slip into his own despair. I have so many thoughts about him all the time.
He's the most interesting and well written character in all of TriStrat in my opinion. The fact that his major character flaws (his self doubt, recklessness, etc) are visible from as early as chapter 1 really helps set him up for later in the game. And I really love how chapter 17 gives him two major paths to go down. You've got his own ending, where he gives into those negative qualities about himself, and golden, where he, with Serenoa's guidance, works to push himself to be a better person. I think about his mid battle convo with demigod Idore a lot, where he admits he has been struggling to find himself.
And there are so many more thoughts. At some point I really aught to turn on voice to text and just dump all my thoughts about this princling, bc boy, they are many and not always coherent haha.
Favorite moment
I really, really like his part of chapter 18 Golden, where he tries to reason with Gustadolf as well as the fight itself. He still hates Gustadolph, but he's putting his trust in Serenoa's plan even if it means siding with someone he still considers an enemy. That he's allowing himself to lean on Serenoa's conditions till he has the strength to stand up for his own. And when negotiations fail and it turns to battle, you have his mid battle convo with Gustadolph, where he admits that that desire for revenge has been eating away at him. It's feels like a good first step for Roland as he tries to climb out of his despair.
And then there's his battle with Serenoa in liberty, where he breaks but in a far different way than utility. Despite how much he treasures his friendship with Serenoa, he's envious that Seranoa had everything he didn't: fatherly love, the support of his people, even just skill in battle. And the fight is so hecking good. It's by far the most charged of the three and it's the one I consistently rewatch.
Idea for a story
I've mentioned wanting to write a post golden comfort thing between him in Cordelia in her ask, but I also want to write or comic something short and emotional between him and Serenoa set between arriving at Wolffort after escaping Whiteholm and the order to surrender Roland to the Duchy, where Serenoa tries to help ground a Roland who's trying to come to terms with everything that just happened.
I also want to write something post liberty of what leads him to where he is as a wandering monk haha.
Unpopular opinion
I don't think Roland is ooc in chapter 17, I just think a lot of people aren't really recognizing his motivation of why he's aligning with Hyzante. I won't go super in detail here as I did that in a seperate post.
Favorite relationship
There are, so many!
First and foremost, his sibling relationship with Cordelia. I said this before, but I'm a sucker for sibling relationships, especially if the older sibling is the protective type. Like maybe it's just me also being and older sibling but just like, siblings man.
On a similar note, the friendship between him and Serenoa. Part of the reason I like the Liberty Ending Battle between him and Roland is because it hurts so much because they had such a natural friendship between them, so seeing in break is heart-rending. They 100% feel like they've been friends for years, and they feel brotherly, even before learning that they are brothers.
And then there's the father-son dynamic of him and Maxwell. One of my very few complaints about Triangle Strategy is that they should have allowed the two to interact after Maxwell recovered though if they had been given the chance to interact, I doubt Roland would have come to his chapter 17 decision. A talk with his dad would fix him
Favorite headcanon
Despite him being my favorite, I do have to admit I don't really have any haha, outside of some post ending speculations like him rising up against Serenoa in Liberty.
I guess one that there is is that I don't imagine him as the religious type, both towards the Goddess as well as towards whatever religion is big in Glenbrook glances at Cordelia's cleric class, but I do imagine him leaning towards the Glenbrook God/Gods post liberty as something to try and rally the people around, if only because he's referred to as a monk at the end of Liberty.
#triangle strategy#triangle strategy spoilers#roland glenbrook#If my constant posting and pfp didn't give it away I really like Roland haha#And I know I've done some minor things before but I really want to explore Post-Liberty Roland#Liberty just has so much potential in general#Kelbunn answers

Roland or Frederica for the ask meme?
I shall do both to the best of my abilities!!!
Frederica:
First impression
she seemed nice! big fan of mages. also she’s pretty :]] not a fan of arranged marriages though
Impression now
I LOVE HER SO MUCH. SHE IS MY WORLD. morality route was my first and MAN was it an experience. she’s just… such a good character… it’s difficult to put all my thoughts about her together, but I just love her so much… everything with her family history and the roselle….
Favorite moment
her route for taking back whiteholm is my favorite of those three so far (I still gotta play benedict’s but I don’t think he can beat the battle on the bridge and the stuff with roland, cordelia, and avlora on the boat), and her reluctance to fight her family vs her anger at how cruel and unfair they were to her her whole life is just… an interesting struggle. and how she eventually resolves to do whatever she must, even if that means killing her own flesh and blood… ultimately she’s opposed to killing anyone, no matter who they are or why, and I like how, despite everything, she tries so hard to be kind.
Idea for a story
again don’t have much for this one ach… I did write this though, but it’s mostly serenoa focused. she’s there though
Unpopular opinion
hard to know what classifies as an unpopular opinion with such a small fandom…
Favorite relationship
her and serenoa for sure, but her and roland is also one I like.
I could write an essay on serefrede but I think the game does that well enough for me pf- it’s called “morality route” /j
as for her and roland, I just like their friendship. again you can totally tell morality was my first route but they’re just… really nice friends I think. terrified to play the utility route.
difficult for me to describe my thoughts on them right now, it’s been a while since I last played the game and I haven’t finished liberty and utility routes
Favorite headcanon
not sure on this one, number one for all tristrat characters is drawing them with scars though
Roland:
First impression
his introduction was very silly and I was immediately so fascinated by him and what his deal could be….
Impression now
screaming indefinitely 👍
chapter 5 was when I REALLY started getting into the game, and at every twist and turn I always felt so bad for roland… one of my favorite lines in the game is “though victorious, roland sobs quietly, saddened by the losses made in his name” (quoted to the best of my memory).. it’s such a good line… liberty route’s gonna kill me I think
Favorite moment
his confrontation with gustadolph in the golden route for sure. it felt like his character arc had really been building up to that moment, and he realizes how revenge just feels like an empty concept now. it isn’t about revenge anymore, and he proves that by trying to reason with gustadolph, albeit that fails… but he tried. it’s just so… gah… so good…
another, smaller thing, is the many instances in which he tries to pass his kingship to serenoa, most notably at the end of golden route. he tried several times in different instances… it’s so… man. again, so not ready for liberty route.
Idea for a story
I got nothing sorry
Unpopular opinion
see above - -‘
Favorite relationship
him and serenoa!! the brothers of all time and they don’t even know it… their friendship is so important to me. serenoa’s one of the few people roland really jokes with, and he returns the jests as well… the choice before the tournament is a really good indicator of their dynamic I think… serenoa always trying his best to reassure and comfort roland… even after everything… they care a lot about each other and it’s very clear… the golden route reveal is so… augh… again! I reiterate for the third time! terrified for liberty route!
him and cordelia are also really good… and the previously mentioned him and frederica
Favorite headcanon
see above-

TS expresses multiple times that Aesfrost explicitly did not loot pillage and plunder Glenbrook or slaughter civilians when they invaded. The heroes caused more destruction taking Whiteholm back than Gustadolph did when he conquered it. Hyzante's problem isn't "religion bad" the religion itself was corrupted by Idore.
Do you have a website akin the the FE Datamine for the TS script ?
I remember how Whiteholm being relatively "unharmed" being a major point in the Roland routes, the Whiteholm peeps don't see anything wrong with Aesfrost' rule because Aesfrost (Gustadolph) specifically made sure that all exactions wouldn't be made in the main city ? But I can't remember the chapter...
However, several character supports (or stories? I don't remember how it was called) like iirc Flannagan, Avlora, Medina and Cordelia's were pretty revealing about what was happening in Glenbrook -in Flanagan's chapter iirc some Aesfrosti are pillaging for funsies, Medina has to heal an Aesfrosti soldier and meets opposition, Cordelia receives her share of flak and Avlora is hated by randoms because of what her army did.
Hyzante's religion is as consistent as swiss cheese, but iirc it thrives on enslaving Rosellians to hide the secret that salt didn't come from the goddess but they just happened to find some salted lake in the desert and hide the existence of rock salt to keep their monopoly. And that nonsense existed before Idore became the head honcho with his mechanical doll!
EDIT : someone compiled the script on the wiki!
Pariatte, out of anyone, notices how Gustadolph didn't attack the city of Whiteholm, but only focused on the castle so he wouldn't lose a lot of "popular support" from people who matter, aka not the peasants from Falkes, but the randoms in Whiteholm.
And as expected from the ones who aren't subjected to the worst of Aesfrosti occupation, Whiteholm people don't think Aesfrost's occupation is "that bad after all".
Heck, even Patriatte expected better of them lol
#Anon#replies#TS stuff#I think Fred says something similar at one point#meritocracy is fine'n'dandy for the ones who can play the game#for the ones who cannot though? they die#and the game was rigged from the start since Gustadolph played a lot on his PR persona#so to the randoms near the seat of power he isn't that bad#but for Bob and Johnny living in rural/removed areas of the Country? It's pillage day every morning#if not worse assuming random aesfrostians like to fool around as much as Thalas does

For everyone else’s reference: tristrat spoilers ahead (morality route and everything through chapter 14, specifically frederica’s plan)! Based on an au that ng+ is serenoa being stuck in a timeloop
The embers of war were not yet fully extinguished, but for the time being, they had been reduced to just that: mere embers. None knew how and when exactly the blaze would flare to life again, but everyone continued about their days nonetheless, with the feeling of unease and restlessness hanging over their shoulders. Despite their best efforts, House Wolffort’s plan to safeguard the city of Whiteholm by destroying the bridge to the castle did not save it from being ravaged by the flames of battle, and the damages were immense. The bridge had been successfully destroyed, but now that merely added to the long list of repairs that had to be made. Serenoa and Frederica agreed to inspect the bridge in King Roland’s stead in order to assess the full extent of the damage caused by Hyzante’s experimental Aelfric.
The Aelfric… It played upon Serenoa’s mind strangely. He knew nothing of it, and yet he felt as though he knew far too much about it. He had been feeling like that a lot lately, as if there was something he was forgetting, something distant and yet all too real.
It all started the night before he met his betrothed, Frederica. He awoke after a strange dream, a strange dream he could hardly recall, and yet something within him ached. He continued on with his day, but couldn’t help but be stricken by an even more peculiar sense of deja vu. When the kingdom fell to Aesfrost, he came to understand that he had lived through these events once before, though his decisions now differed sometimes. He did not know all of the details of what happened the first time, but occasionally they came back to him, and often he agonized in silence when they did. No one would believe him, nor did he wish to burden them with the unusual circumstances he found himself in, especially considering the dangers they were all facing now.
Would it happen again? He wondered. At the end of this path, will I be brought back to the beginning once more? The thoughts plagued him, and he knew not if or when he would be freed from the hands of time and his foggy recollections of a life lived by an alternative version of himself. All he could do was use his old self’s knowledge to walk a road he could only hope was just, such is his family’s creed.
Regardless of what might have happened in the past now lost to the mysteries of time, or what might happen in the future, Serenoa decided to turn his focus to the present. There was a city to rebuild, after all, and as the lord of the last standing high house of Glenbrook, he had to hold himself strong.
“Is everything alright, Serenoa?” Frederica inquired, holding her betrothed’s hand in her own as they walked.
Serenoa was caught somewhat unawares, but he turned to his partner and responded plainly, “Ah, yes. Forgive me, my love, I was merely lost in thought.”
The Norzelia River raged beneath the broken bridge, and the sound brought Serenoa no comfort. He did not yet know why, but he figured it was likely due to recent events causing so many dear companions and honorable foes alike to be cast into its waters. Such was the fate of Ser Maxwell and General Avlora, and he feared someone else might be lost to the merciless currents, or worse, they already had been.
Frederica’s calm voice interrupted his haunting thoughts once more, “To think one small crystal was powerful enough to do such damage. I fear what might happen if Hyzante were to ever turn such a thing against us.”
Serenoa felt his grip on Frederica’s hand tighten, though he did not know why exactly, “I hope we never see that day.”
Frederica nodded, choosing not to comment on how his grip on her hand had tightened. She figured Serenoa was imagining their fears in terrifying detail, as she had always known his thoughts to be deep and complex. How he was able to play out entire battles in his mind and come out of it all the more prepared to fight them, though she knew he did not want to. A lot weighed on his mind, as it did on her’s. She felt her grip tighten as well now.
They continued to examine the bridge, staying as close to one another as they could. Seeing the damage caused by the Aelfric, it suddenly came back to him:
He had seen this before, but he was much closer to the blow itself that day. That day when Hyzante did in fact wield the Aelfric against them. That day when he was the one lost to the river.
That day, in a time that was now merely ash in the wind, when he died for Frederica, for his love’s dream.
He stood closely by her side now, knowing he could not tell her about what he had remembered, nor did he want to. He did not wish to hurt her with the memories that haunted him, so he bore them alone, no matter how heavily that weighed on him. If anything, his convictions only grew stronger from the weight.
He would not force her to watch him die, to carry on without him. Not again.
After all, they promised to ease each other’s burdens, not worsen them.
CALC,,,,,…,,…,..,, CALCIUM………… SHRIVELING INTO A BALL AND DYING FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! AUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whiteholm Castle's Gardens Concept Art
Concept art for Whiteholm Castle's gardens! This has been something I wanted to translate for a while, purely because it's just really pretty :)
Translation notes and image ids under the cut.
Translation Notes:
"Resting place" might have meant something more like "shrine," but given the appearance I leaned toward "resting place."
"Unreal splendor" was lit. the Japanese phonetic spelling of English's "unreal" + the Japanese word for splendor. I'm not really 100% sure why that English word was used there, but I think it's just meant to be a little extra fancy/emphasized.
There were a lot of little words on here that I was a little iffy about, in part because the handwriting was kind of small and I had trouble making out the characters. Longer sentences are usually actually easier to translate because you can use grammar and sentence structure context clues to figure out what the word is supposed to be. When it's a one-off little label, it becomes a lot more important that you know exactly what each character is. The image of the lantern hanging on the lanternpost is one in particular that I still feel sort of unsure about (it definitely mentioned hanging the lantern, but I couldn't 100% figure out what exactly the rest of it meant).
Image Id:
[id: A set of 4 images. The first is the original Japanese version of the page of concept art for Whiteholm Castle's gardens.
The second is the top third of the page, with English translations. It has the heading, "CountryA_Garden/SacredTreeVersion." There is a small shot of Whiteholm Castle with a red box outlining the section with the gardens, which has the label, "here is a wide shot of the area," as well as another label pointing to some trees outside the gardens that reads, "a forest grows around the castle." There is then a much larger and detailed illustration of the gardens, which has a large tree centered to the far right side. There is a label that has a text box with the heading, "Sacred Tree." The text in the text box reads, "A large tree that has been growing here since before the kingdom's founding, and keeps watch as the land develops. The tree is old, so its leaves have long withered away. But at night (maybe once every few cycles?), fireflies gather and form glowing leaves, returning it to its former glory." There is another nearby note that reads, "White gradient from the base to the trunk and brown gradient from the trunk to the branches." Another small label is put on the smaller, less distinct foliage nearby, reading, "forest." There is a small image of the tree at night, labeled "Sacred Tree (Night)" with the caption, "Countless fireflies are drawn by the tree's special sap and form a tree of light."
The third image is the middle section of the page, and is labeled "Country A Garden." It has a small diagram of the streetlamp with the label "Streetlamp (The idea is that it's illuminated by a lantern candle rather than a gas lamp.)" Another nearby note reads, "Lantern hands from pole." There are several additional simple labels pointing to the lotus flowers that grow in the large rectangular fountain, as well as the small semi-circle fountain that serves as a source for the rectangular one, a gazebo that is called "resting place," some large stone flower vases, some benches, some flowering plants and ivy that hang from the balustrades around the garden, and the reflections on the water, which reads, "The sky is reflected on the surface of the water." Off to the side there are some more detailed close-ups of the stone vases (which contain yellow roses), a stone bench, and a "general purpose balustrade."
The last image is of the garden at night, labeled "Country A Garden/Firefly Version." It is the same as the previous image, but with different coloring, and devoid of many of the labels. It has the same note about the streetlamps. At the bottom, there is an illustrator's note that reads, "In an effort to avoid making the garden look gaudy, we paid special attention to not overdoing it with flowers. But at night, we send out fireflies with the deliberate intention of giving it an "unreal splendor." (Tatsuaki Urushibara) /end id]

Avlora: Freedom is a privilege‚ and only those with the strength to see their will realized are deserving of it. It is not given—it is taken. And it is not often taken easily. This I know.

1, 4 and 6 for the fandom ask game, for Triangle Strategy
Thank you so much for the ask!!! <3
1. My favorite thing about the fandom
I've probably said this before, but I honestly really like that tri strat's a pretty small fandom! I love some more popular things like fire emblem, but I rarely participate in those fandoms because it's more intimidating to post stuff that I know significantly more people will be looking at. Even my stuff on triangle-strategy-notes, which isn't super creative (like fanfic or fanart) is stuff I probably wouldn't do for fe. There's already Japanese -> English translation discourse going on over there and I know I'd probably get zinged for a lot of the mistakes I make on the artbook stuff hahahaha.
4. My favorite fanart from the fandom
I'm going to do several here bc there is SO MUCH cool fan art for triangle strategy esp. considering how small it is.
@kelbunny's Cordelia paladin concept has lived in my head rent free ever since she posted it because I am thinking 24/7 about how cool it would have been if Cordelia had ended up with a more significant role after retaking Whiteholm (not that a healer can't have a significant role but. we all know JRPG protags have to have at least one sword or will the devs REALLY let them be a JRPG protag). It's such a fun concept, and I also really love the way it parallels Avlora's dark knight thing she's got going on. It's just!!!! very cool!!!!!
@cullensart's Avwell drawings. I just think they're neat :)
This is on Twitter so I am going to very cautiously repost it a little bit with a screenshot of the entire tweet, but I really love this art by DelaneyJanuzzi of the Time to Say Goodbye battle ending. The scene in general is SO GOOD and I just think it's a really cool drawing of it :) She also has a ton of other cool tri strat + fire emblem art that I really enjoy
6. My favorite character
To the surprise of probably no one I love Avlora a whole lot :) :) :) I'm a sucker for morally grey characters in general and Avlora in particular is really interesting to me for a few different reasons. One big difference between her and a character like Edelgard von Fire Emblem is that Avlora is just super unapologetically not feminine in the typical sense. She super easily could have been written as a man with essentially zero changes to the script outside of pronouns, and there's no "whoa isn't it nuts that we're taking orders from a woman?" moments or really any acknowledgement whatsoever that it's uncustomary for the setting. And the same thing goes for a lot of Tri Strat's female characters which I think is really cool! I don't have anything against girlbosses getting to be a little girly on occasion (and I think for Edelgard in particular it works well considering her whole arc with trust + vulnerability), but there's definitely something really cool about Avlora getting to step outside the stereotypes a bit and just get to be a general without so many references to her gender.
#triangle strategy#asks#nonbinary avlora also lives in my heart on occasion#I just think she doesn't care about the whole thing very much#her gender is the sword etc. etc.#but yeah!!! thank you so much for the ask!!!!!!!! <3#edit: WAIT THAT ISN'T FOR YOU MY HEART it's 'time to say goodbye'. my bad#I noticed it was the fountain they were standing near but my brain went#'ah yes chapter 14!! isn't for you my heart such a cool chapter :)' and temporarily forgot other routes exist
