I thought I would compile all of the floral baldurs gate designs I've done! I'm not an expert but I had a lot of fun trying to find flowers that matched the characters stories but also fit their color schemes and aesthetics.
Heres the meanings!
♡ Astarion - Roses + Star of Bethlehem (aka little Star flowers) for love, pain without repression, hope. ♡ Gale - Lavender / Purple hydrangeas for deep understanding, knowledge, compassion, devotion ♡ Karlach - Daffodil + Amaryllis for strength, determination, and new beginning's. ♡ Lae'zel - Gladiolus + Nasturtium for honor, strength, victory and passion. ♡ Minthara - Snapdragon + Rhododendron for deception, strength, protection and beliefs. ♡ Shadowheart - White lily + forget me not + night orchid for rebirth, purity, the pain of less and remembrance of loved ones. ♡ Wyll - Magnolia + Dahlia for nobility, dignity, elegance and personal strength.

IV. The Empress- Catherine Fourth card- The Empress, is represented by Catherine. This card usually symbolizes themes like motherhood, nurture, beauty and charm, but also the unknown and doubt, which seems to reflect Catherine's story quite well. Here, I decided to picture her pregnant, close to the finale of her story.
Used symbols: White lilies- purity, innocence, rebirth Pink butterflies, pink energy- Aideen's presence and power The golden horse- Catherine yearned to become a horse, to become one with horses, and she was the previous incarnate of Aideen before our MC, so I decided to use the golden horse we're turned into by Ydris to reflect that. It may not be fully canon- significant, but it played well with The Empress aesthetic, and I like to give more meaning to the golden horse.

I was looking at your banner (which goes hard as s$&@ by the way) and on closer examination I noticed something really cool!
In the image, Pomni is inside an open coffin and is surrounded by flowers, with one half being colourful while the other is pale white. I also noticed the bouquet of flowers Pomni is holding is especially vibrant (unless I’m crazy).
I have to assume the image is about Pomni, through circumstances beyond her control, is stuck living only a half-life and is desperately holding on to who she is and once was, right?
I don’t know much about flowers and their meanings, but I know in some cultures White is often associated with Death.
Did I get it right or should I be executed for being cringe?
TY for the thoughtful ask!!! Unfortunately, no execution for you because you're right! The flowers at the bottom are common funeral arrangement flowers but do have their own meanings;
Stargazer lilies represent sympathy, majesty, and purity. White roses have many meanings: love, secrecy, silence, humility, reverence, and despair. Dracaena leaves mean inner power, growth, and renewal. White hydrangeas have a few meanings: rebirth, heatlessness, and abundance. Eucalyptus leaves mean protection.
The vibrant flowers in her hand are for herself, and the surrounding bouquets represent the other residents she lives with; a combination of how they feel about her and about them in general.

Avoid the obvious. - The Jeankasa discussion
I'm basing my contribution on this article here because it picks up on the theories I've already heard and has a few new ones up its sleeve. ~*~ The first big discussion sparked this picture:
Tumblr media
Mikasa is seen visiting Eren's grave, with a man and child with her. Judging by his clothes and hairstyle, one could assume that this man is Jean. The Child is adoptet-Theory: The first thing that comes to mind when I see Mikasa with a man and children is: She is married and has children. But there are also people who actually believe that Mikasa got the baby from Historia's orphanage... I can't really refute it. So I'll leave it like that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene has now been animated in a fairly small format. But you can see the color of the hair and the color of the suit. Here, too, it is easy to conclude that it is Jean.
Tumblr media
The Man is to tall to be Jean-Theory: Based on the second scene, in which the man runs across the hills with Mikasa, he is estimated to be a little taller than Jean. You can see from the grave scene in the manga, that the man is exactly Jean's size. Especially because the man appears taller in one scene, because the landscape is sloping and he is therefore walking on a higher level like Mikasa and therefore appears a bit taller.
Tumblr media
Source There are two different versions of the scene where Mikasa lies in the grave. In the manga, she lies in a bed as lilies. she has her hands folded in front of her chest. In the anime, Mikasa wears a ring on her ring finger and her grave is made of roses. These same roses are also on her chest. The flower-theory: The flower theory includes two versions. The one with the white lily and the one with the four roses. According to the "White Lily Theory", these symbolize Mikasas purity. Says that she hasn't slept with any other man and will remain loyal to Eren until death. Qoute: They are chosen for both weddings and funerals and symbolize the renewal of the soul. They can represent purity, commitment and rebirth, so they are often used to express compassion. - Source To make it short. Lilies are grave flowers. That´s why they´re put in Mikasa's grave and not to highlight her chastity.
Four roses means "Nothing will come between us", so Mikasa will love no one exept Eren. Okay. Is this is the right meaning, as I found out myself. Source But I see one or two Roses und two other Blooms on this Grave...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source
Besides, you never know what colors the roses were. This is also important to know. Therefore I would rule out this theory. The ring of purity-theory: Mikasa wears a ring on her ring finger that looks like a wedding ring. But opponents of Jeankasa claim it would is a chastity ring. Unfortunately, that can't work, because Attack on Titan obviously takes place in Germany. The last date I could record was the year 850. Source
The “True Love Waits” movement, which also included the chastity ring, only became active in Germany in the 21st century. So in our current era. Source
The pioneer of the chastity ring was the chastity belt: There is no clear evidence that the chastity belt was already known in the Middle Ages. It is believed to be a myth that was invented and spread in the Baroque period to paint the picture of the “Dark Ages”. Other stories say that the chastity belt was invented by the Doges of Venice in order to effectively collect tax debts from prostitutes. Source
So it's pretty unlikely that Mikasa wears a chastity ring. In that case it would probably be a wedding ring. The Hairstyle-Theory: It is often said that you can't even know that it is Jean, because many people have that hairstyle. For example, Armin, who is often portrayed as Mikasa's grief companion. To underline this, antis often use such images:
Tumblr media
Source In one picture Armin's hair is flying back and in the other picture Armin has actually pinned his hair back. But let's be honest, folks. When you have two people to choose from. Jean and Armin. Who will you choose then? Someone who has this hairstyle naturally or someone who doesn't usually have this hairstyle except in a picture?
Tumblr media
Especially because Armin must have had a really big growth spurt to be Jean's size. But fine. Let's play a round of "Choose the Color":
Tumblr media
All in all, it also depends a little on the exposure. But which hair color is closer to that of the man at the grave? Armin's or Jean's? The man's hair color is ash blonde. A color that not everyone in Attack on Titan has either. So... It can't be Armin but obiously Jean. ~*~ Other arguments: Jean whould never betray Eren with marrieng Mikasa: Did Jean make such a vow? - No. And I don't need to cite any evidence that Jean was definitely in love with Mikasa. Mikasa only rejected him, because she was in love with Eren and he accepted that too. But Eren is dead. Why shouldn't he be allowed to marry Mikasa? In the AOT-Guidebook it´s stated that Mikasa's martial status is single: When is the book from and how old was Mikasa? Prove please. Mikasa loves Eren because of what is written on Eren's grave, her scarf, because she let herself be buried next to Eren, and so further: I don't understand this concept of "just one or the other". Just because Mikasa loves Jean and has a family with him doesn't mean she has to give up her feelings for Eren. She is still allowed to mourn him, think about him and talk about him with others? I don't understand how things like this are always taken as evidence of "Mikasa only loves Ereh." And Mikasa can be happy without Jean, but she can also be happy with Jean. So why does the obvious always have to be downplayed? WHY Mikasa has to be with no one exept EREN? Her hidden Bandages: Why should the bandages be evidence that Mikasa didn't pass the symbol on them to her children? Maybe she doesn't want to present the symbol to everyone. Maybe she doesn't want to pass it on to her children? Maybe she had already passed it on to her "adopted" children and still covered her arms? How do you know that those in the picture are even bandages?
Tumblr media
~*~ It makes sense that Mikasa is married to Jean and has children. Family has always been very important to Mikasa. Especially because she lost her family twice. It was only thanks to Eren that she threw herself into the fight against the Titans. As you could tell from her dream with Eren, she preferred a simple life to fighting. She cut her hair, because Eren wanted it that way. It was supposed to protect her from the Titans. Jean, on the other hand, found this so beautiful about her. Anyone who wasn't struck with blindness could clearly see that Jean was in love with Mikasa and knew that his feelings were not reciprocated. But this certainly changed after Eren's death. Jean also dreamed of having a family with Mikasa and the child in Mikasa's arms looks a lot like a baby.
Tumblr media
It is quite logical to conclude from this dream that there is a real wedding. Why would Isayama bother to draw a family when it really isn't a family? Then he could have easily drawn Mikasa alone at Eren's grave. But he didn't. Mikasa is married and the first candidate for a husband would be Jean. Not Armin, not Farmer-Kun or some random guy. JEAN. ~*~ Thanks for reading.

Hello! Here is Leander’s belt
Tumblr media
His belt buckle is the Triple Moon/Triple Goddess Symbol! Here’s the significance of that:
“The waxing moon stands for the Maiden and symbolizes purity, youth, new life, beginnings, rejuvenation, excitement, enchantment, and expansion. The full moon represents the Mother and represents fulfillment, fertility, ripeness, potency, compassion, giving, caring, nurturing, protection and power. The waxing moon represents the Crone and stands for repose, maturity, wisdom, experience, knowledge, understanding, completion, death and rebirth. In its entirety, the symbol is believed to signify the eternal cycle of birth, life, and rebirth.”
“Also called the Triple Goddess symbol, the Triple Moon icon is commonly seen on the crowns or headpieces worn by the High Priestesses.”
Source
Ok, so some connections to the High Priestess. The Triple Moon/Goddess symbol is a feminine symbol traditionally, and Leander is a whole man, but idk, that’s could be neither here nor there.
Here are some keywords I found relating to The High Priestess tarot card nonetheless:
Upright: unconscious, intuition, mystery, spirituality, higher power, inner voice
Reversed: repressed intuition, hidden motives, superficiality, confusion, cognitive dissonance
Source
Those things might be interesting and relevant, or they may not be. But as many people have pointed out already, he is depicted with an Ouroboros in his sticker!
Tumblr media
“The ouroboros symbolizes rebirth, immortality, eternity, protection, self-reliance, unity, and nature’s cycles.”
Source
So there are similarities between the Triple Moon symbol and the Ouroboros! I’ll leave it to you all to draw conclusions from this. I just thought it was interesting!
EDIT: oh? What are those flowers around him?? White lilies, you say?
Tumblr media
I wonder what they could mean…
“Popular at both weddings and funerals, white lilies are believed to represent rebirth and purity.”
“Lilies are believed to symbolise femininity and fertility.”
Source
Oops! All.. rebirth symbolism? And, weirdly, lots of symbolism tied to femininity and the divine feminine.

Dannymay Day 1: Insects
I was thinking about bees and beekeepers and how the beekeepers don't do a whole lot directly with the bees, and for the most part the bees have a lot of freedom, but the beekeeper will step in when needed and how much that felt like Clockwork. He's always watching the timeline and therefore Danny and no matter how much humans think they have the freedom of choice, Clockwork can step in at any time to fix the timeline or nudge it in the direction he wants.
Flower talk:
I just googled death flowers so here's the quick breakdown for each flower to character:
Jazz got lilies. "White lilies, with their striking petal arrangement and captivating fragrance, have long been linked to concepts of innocence, purity, and rebirth. Across various cultures, white lilies symbolize the restoration of the soul to a tranquil state of innocence." (x) I was just thinking about how Jazz babies her brother and it takes time for her to see Danny as growing up. So in a really convoluted way she sees his innocence, perhaps more than what exists for Danny with secret ghost fighting and all.
Tucker got carnations. "Carnations serve as a heartfelt expression of love towards both living family members and those who have passed away, honoring their memory and an everlasting bond." (x) Which just felt a lot like Tucker and how much he loves his friends.
Sam got red poppies. "The red poppy holds significant commemorative value as a flower dedicated to honoring veterans." (x) Which made me think of Phantom Planet and how attached Sam was to the idea of fighting for good and Danny taking up that fight. So I was thinking along the lines of Sam and Danny's vigilantism.
Maddie and Jack got cowslip. "Cowslip flowers, also known as the “key of heaven,” hold symbolic significance related to both birth and death. In Ireland and Wales, cowslips are revered as fairy flowers, believed to possess the power to open the gateway to the enchanting realm of fairies." (x) I MEAN?!?!?! GATEWAY?????? GHOST PORTAL?!?!?!?! yeah lmao. Also their constant search and understanding for the "afterlife".
Danny got hyacinths. "Ancient Greece believed that Hyacinths were representative of bad luck, and sometimes represented bad omens, depending on when they were used and under what circumstances. They also believed the flowers could represent death due to the legacy stories told about the flower’s origins and meaning." (x) I mean.... lmao what's worse luck than tripping, electrocuting yourself, and being forced in a half life, dealing with unpredictable powers, keeping on top of school work, and fighting to keep your half life?

Perse's flower/plant nicknames to the twst cast!
My oc Perse Achillea is based off of Megara from Hercules and possesses elements of Persephone from Greek mythology, and so I thought it'd be fun to give each of the cast (and my own OCs) a flower/plant nickname! These go similar to how Rook and Floyd nickname other characters!
Heartslabyul.
Riddle -> red rose; means passion.
Ace -> gerbera; its red version means unconscious love.
Deuce -> flax; means love and care for your family.
Cater -> mimosa; means "I hide my feelings".
Trey -> shellflower (apparently another name for bells of Ireland); means good luck, prosperity.
Savanaclaw.
Leona -> calendula; means insecurity, jealousy and anxiety.
Ruggie -> dandelion; means resilience and strength.
Jack -> clematis; means hope, perseverance, and determination.
Octavinelle.
Azul -> begonia; means "beware!"
Jade -> aconite; means hatred and "be cautious".
Floyd -> borage; means bluntness, directness.
Scarabia.
Kalim -> aster; its white version means "I love you more than you love me".
Jamil -> coriander; hidden worth/merit.
Pomefiore.
Vil -> dahlia; means perseverance and determination.
Rook -> edelweiss; means devotion.
Epel -> camellia; means "you're adorable".
Ignihyde.
Idia -> no nickname.
Ortho -> no nickname.
Diasomnia.
Malleus -> calla lily; means magnificence.
Lilia -> peony; means rebirth.
Silver -> gladiolus; means integrity, strength and victory.
Sebek -> verbena; means sensitivity.
OCs.
Daisy -> no nickname.
Jeanne (Octavinelle) -> buttercup; they represent childish behavior and are an invasive and prolific weed.
Isabelle (RSA) -> white rose; means purity and loyalty.
Damali (Scarabia) -> jasmine; means prosperity.

YOUR MELODY: Analysis, Merold's Manipulation
Tumblr media
(Parts are still incomplete like the flower language) full english lyrics, Ever Red theory (MUST READ TO UNDERSTAND THIS POST) Updated: Feb 25 2024
MV
Flower Language
(thanks to my friend Lux for finding most of them)
Rimicha - sunflower, birds of paradise Sunflower: Symbols of joy, adoration, and loyalty. There's a story in Greek Mythology of a nymph who turns into the flower after losing her lover Birds of paradise:  Symbols of joy, paradise, freedom, and a sense of exploration
Hallritt - red periwinkle - symbol of purity, everlasting love, loyalty to friends, and hope
Merold - white and pink easter lily, white chrysanthemum, baby's breath, white spider lily, white and pink rose, hyacinth - together as a bouquet, all these flowers symbolize devoted love and loyalty, feelings of strong familial love and homesickness, positivity, happiness and admiration for the receiver, along with "seeking forgiveness/deep regret" with the hyacinths
Mirror flowers: lily, daisy, carnation, 4th still unknown - Together as a bouquet, these flowers represent celebration/hope for happiness, love and connection. Some flowers also share a meaning of rebirth or missing someone
Broken Mirror
Tumblr media
Broken mirrors typically symbolize a shattered self-image, fractured identity, and a sense of loss. I'll most likely be covering the voice drama in another post, but in the first episode, Hallritt is seen easily defeating a seed in one hit. Maybe Merold feels like his role as the strongest knight is being challenged? Which is why he accuses Hallritt of being a failure as a knight in the teaser for episode 2. In another scene, these two frames are right next to each other. Instead of the diamond flipping around like it did before, Merold just completely replaces Hallritt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The MV also had multiple "waves"/glitches, which recently has been a recurring theme of Seed's presence.
ELDRITT/HALLRITT SYSTEM
Hallritt also feels a bit "off" in the MV. It's possible that it's Eldritch Hallritt/Eldritt/The "original Hallritt" currently present. It's a bit confusing to tell which timeline the MV is set in, but it might make more sense with the System Hallritt headcanon. Eldritt formed as a protector and gatekeeper who used to hide the truth from the "current Hallritt", before deciding it'd be beneficial if he knew the truth and did something about it. Following this, the MV is in the 2nd timeline as my timeline theory suggests (with the voice dramas being the 1st timeline), and Eldritt is simply fronting instead of Hallritt.
Tumblr media
There's also this scene where Hallritt sings: "As if two hearts are on top of each other, I want to be connected by the same rhythm"
ELDRITCH MEROLD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Merold seems to know about the 1st timeline. He holds a ribbon, which is what represents the memories of that timeline in Ever Red. He is also seen multiple times with a corrupted version, possibly hinting at him having an Eldritch (seed corruption) form as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lyrics seem to have him hinting at the 1st timeline to Hallritt. If you corrupt the future, you echo its dark history.
To summarize: Merold is threathened by Hallritt's strength, yet he also knows the truth of what he did/will do. He wants to get rid of him somehow, or at least keep him in his place. He put up a face to seem trustworthy, but someday, that facade will shatter like the mirror.
BONUS
1. Merold losing his vision? Really not much proof here aside from this quick frame
Tumblr media
2. blob people. idk who or what they are yet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. there's one transiton where something that look like vines turn into (angel? dove?) feathers and another one with a broken crystal. could it be referencing cielomort's death? is it his crystal strawberry from aozora?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Why? Why?) This heart (Why? Why?) It's fragile (Why? Why?) No matter what, I love you most (Why? Why?) It's overflowing (Why? Why?) These desires A melody just for you

Soulmate AU Part Four
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Five
The night of the date, Eddie is pacing beside his front door. Wayne is watching from his armchair with an exasperated look, having already told him to sit down or he was going to wear a hole in the carpet. He jumps when there’s a knock on the door and shoots Wayne a dirty look when he laughs. Before opening it, he grabs the flowers off the counter and takes a deep breath, attempting to settle his nerves.
When he finally pulls the door open, he’s still wholly unprepared for Steve Harrington to be the one standing on his doorstep, eyes twinkling in the haze of the setting sun, hair perfectly coiffed and yellow sweater sitting snug around his torso. He holds out the flowers before Steve can even say hello.
There’s a beat of silence where Eddie almost pulls them back, but Steve hesitantly reaches for them, holding them delicately in his hands. “You got me flowers,” he says with a hint of awe.
“My mama used to garden a lot before she died, and I remember sitting with her as she talked for hours about the meaning of all of these different flowers she was planting. I don’t remember all of them because it was so long ago, but I do remember what these mean.”
It’s never easy talking about his mom, but it’s not as difficult with Steve looking at him like he understands the importance of Eddie divulging something so personal. There’s a hopeful look on his face that reassures Eddie he can trust Steve with every dark corner of his soul. They’re not there yet, but they’re headed in the right direction.
He looks down at the yellow and white water lilies with a watery smile, “Mama used to always say that water lilies were about rebirth and enlightenment. A lot of cultures tied that back to purity and religion. But mama used to tell stories of nymphs leaving them around those they wanted to protect or claim.”
Steve ducks his head, burying part of his face in the flowers. “Are you the nymph in this scenario?”
“If it means staking my claim, then yes.” A triumphant trill courses through him when Steve blushes. “I know the universe already did that for me, but I wanted to show you I mean it. I want to start over and actually give this a shot.”
“I want that, too.” Steve looks back at his car. “Maybe we can leave these here, though. I don't want them to get ruined sitting in the car.”
It takes a few minutes to find something to leave them in. The Munson’s aren’t big flower people these days, but soon enough they’re on their way, Wayne shooing them out the door. Steve hasn’t told Eddie where they’re going, but it’s somewhere outside of Hawkins.
As they exit the city limits, Eddie's nervous chatter has died down a bit. Steve quietly says, “I didn’t think you would be into flowers or any of that romantic shit.”
“Just because I look mean and scary, doesn’t mean I don’t believe in love. I was just as excited as you were to get my soulmate mark.”
“Why were you so scared to tell me?”
“My own stupidity, I guess.” Eddie shrugs. “Things never worked out long term for any of the Munsons when it comes to soulmates. My mom died young and my dad fucked off after that, not wanting to raise someone that was a living reminder of what he lost. Wayne’s died in Vietnam. I wasn’t hopeful that mine would work out when it was the most popular guy in school’s name on my arm.”
Steve holds out a hand across the center console of the car, wrist up as a reminder of whose name is written there. Eddie slides their hands together.
“I had accepted that my fate was just like all the other Munson’s before me. You were happy with Wheeler and I couldn’t bring myself to get in the way of that.”
“We weren’t happy,” Steve interjects faintly, absentmindedly rubbing a thumb over the back of Eddie’s hand. “I think somehow Nancy knew it wasn’t going to be her name on my wrist. She’s perceptive in a scary way.” What little he knows of Wheeler tells him that’s true. After a beat Steve adds, “Sounds like we both had unrealistic expectations for all of this.”
“Yeah,” Eddie agrees, squeezing Steve’s hand. “But we’re starting over, no more King Steve or Eddie the freak Munson.”
“Just Eddie and Steve. I like the sound of that.”
“Me, too.” He’s about to ask where they’re going for the hundredth time, but Steve turns into a parking lot for what looks like a bookstore.
The building is nondescript with just a simple sign out front. Eddie is already bounding through the entrance before Steve’s turned the car off. Inside, there are walls of books, but it’s more than that. One side of the store is what appears to be a hobby shop, with puzzles, model kits of everything from boats to planes, and a whole display case of dice sets and miniatures.
Eddie’s frozen in place, just inside the doorway, bouncing on the balls of his feet excitedly, when he feels Steve come up behind him. “How did you find this place?”
“This kid I babysit plays Dungeons and Dragons, too. He’s the nerdiest little shit. Loves to read. Smartest person I know. He builds all kinds of robots that do stuff. His mom can’t afford to bring him out here all the time, so I started doing it. Let the kid go wild in here and he’s a happy camper. Easiest babysitting job ever.”
Eddie might climb Steve like a tree right here in the middle of this store for everyone to see. He can’t believe the words Dungeons and Dragons just came out of his mouth.
“This place is amazing. I’ve been using a secondhand set of dice from Gareth that he got from his cousin. I had no idea this place existed.”
“You wanna get a new set?” Steve nods towards the display case. “My treat.”
Eddie almost trips in his hast to sprint across the room and start going through the different sets, Steve’s laughter echoing behind him.

The way you draw Etho is so freakin GENDER!!!!! and I love your zombie au so much!!! Is there anything you've really wanted to talk about with the au that no one's asked about yet? :D
First of all, thank you for reading/enjoying the things I've been drawing!! Second of all, what I want to talk about could fill a novel or two, but I've settled on flowers today.
A couple months back, I decided to assign a handful of characters in the AU flowers. Mostly just for fun, but I do use them in my illustrations, and Joel and Lizzie's flower makes an appearance in the comic.
Technically, the meanings of some of the flowers below can change depending on color and who you ask. I chose whatever I jived with most.
Anyhow, here they are;
Cleo-Hyssop
In general this flower represents humility, repentance and sacrifice. I've seen in my travels that it's mentioned in the bible, in the context of cleansing/forgiveness. Fun hyssop fact, it's actually a garden herb from the mint family.
Etho-White Lily
White lilies are all over the place in terms of meanings and associations, so I'll only touch on what specifically applies. They're a popular funeral and wedding decoration. The color white is heavily associated with purity, but I chose these for their ties with death and rebirth. Them being a popular sympathy flower is a bonus, considering he's presumed dead for the majority of the comic.
Joel and Lizzie-Morning Glory
Morning glory has a handful of meanings, but the most popular ones are all centered around love; love in vain, undying love, sometimes even obsession. I like the way morning glory twists around things, it's one of my favorite flowers despite it's weed status. In general, morning glory is known to smother nearby plants and they require a lot of consistent effort to get rid of. This is pretty well known, but most morning glory blooms in the morning and closes in the evening.
Grian and Scar-Poppies
This is a really popular fandom thing already, and I think death and remembrance are really fitting for them. They're also closely associated with sleep, peace, undying love and sacrifice. I associate them very strongly with the Wizard of Oz, and that movie strikes a really great balance of nightmare and reverie for me.
Martyn-Hemlock
It feels weird to talk about characters I haven't introduced yet, but I'm doing it anyway for the prank of it all. In Victorian era flower language this flower is tied to the phrase 'You will be my death.' Hemlock is (allegedly) associated with dark arts like necromancy and it's generally seen as a sign of danger.
I only went ahead and chose flowers for people who have really important roles in the story, so apologies 75% of the characters aren't listed. Just a fun little list, I don't know if folks are as crazy about flowers as me, but anyways thanks for reading! Below is a lil scribble I did up on tracing paper back in February.

I’m gonna ramble about sumi and her persona’s
This is very wordy (be warned)
——
Cendrillon -
It actually means “Little Ashes”
We know it’s the fairytale, of a girl who goes through hardships, shunned in her own home and forced to work for her step family.
That is until she finds happiness with the prince and gets away from the life she had by marrying him.
—-
I feel like Cendrillon represents the before in Sumire’s life, potentially she’s could see Kasumi as a step sister figure, someone who has everything she doesn’t.
But it also represents how Sumire yearned to be just like her sister, to live in her shoes so the pain and grief could go away.
Like the line “I don’t want to go back to my life in cinders, ever again”
Is not only Cendrillon’s way of saying she doesn’t want to watch Sumire go through the pain of coming to terms with Kasumi’s death!
It’s also Sumire basically saying I don’t want to go back to my life as Sumire because it hurts, because I was the reason Kasumi died so she should be the one to live on instead of me.
The “Life in Cinders” is how Sumire was jealous of her sister, wanting to be like her but not being able to reach it.
Then of course it also represents her death, the guilt and pain Sumire feels, so much so that she becomes a Cinderella figure, becoming someone else to find a better life.
——-
Vanadis -
Tumblr media
Okay so putting this with what we know about Kasumi/Sumire is that I feel Vanadis is there to represent lost youth
What, Kasumi was 15/16 when she died and Sumire had to pick up the pieces, but ends up falling into the overwhelming pit of grief that ends up with her as Kasumi
It also represents her wish to live on as Kasumi because her life got taken from her, if she couldn’t overcome grief and couldn’t live on as Sumire because of the guilt the least she could do is give her sister a second chance
I feel Vanadis represents the middle of Sumire’s journey, the during.
She’s slowly coming to turns with what her true heart is but still yearns to fight for Kasumi, fight for her wish to live on as Kasumi instead of herself
She still wants to keep her sister with her, even if it means living as her.
Also Vanadis being Godess of the dead makes this a whole lot more interesting because of the way Sumire copes with death itself.
She lets it swallow her whole (like most of us would) and she yearns to live and give Kasumi a second chance at life instead of living as herself and with the grief
So it could be that finally the Godess of death herself has come to guide Sumire out of her grief filled state and into the arms of Ella!
——
Ella -
I’ve spoken a bit about Ella already in this post and didn’t go into much detail (this is the post)
But Ella is a bride, celebrating her happily ever after, surrounded by people she loves!
To me this makes me think that Sumire is finally accepting that Kasumi is gone, that she really does want to live life as herself now.
She’s getting her happily ever after!
@fuubee mentioned to me
“Lastly, Ella is a bride getting her happily ever after. So it’s like Sumire couldn’t have her renewal until she properly grieved her sister.”
Because of Ella having a bouquet of lilies and one of their meanings being “Renewal” it’s almost like until she found a way to grieve and came to terms with the fact her sister was gone she couldn’t find this happily ever after
But she has and now Sumire is living life as herself, no longer in her sisters shadow but still celebrating her life, working harder to prove herself! This Vow renewal was a way for her to strengthen her own bond to her own heart and become her one true self!
The white of the dress Ella wears, the bouquet of lilies are all a sign of rebirth, all a sign of purity and peace
Sumire is finally at peace with herself, she’s become her one true self!
Ella represents the end of her story!
——-
That’s it! I might come back to this when I find more stuff but for now I’ll leave you with my thoughts!
Sorry if it’s jumbled and wordy
But I hope you like! ——
