If the reader SOMEHOW have a plush version of themselves, who would buy and actually take care of it?

(ik its a stupid question since this is a yandere we're talking about... those who loves us to death, but i just want confirmation)

Oh plenty would buy it, now the taking care of it part would be pretty interesting. Also I feel some characters may bounce around from category to category.

There’s a lot of characters so I just made a small list, and put whatever I could think of at the moment.

Buys the plush and takes care of it very well

Yoshikage Kira (both DIU and Jojolion) - neither of them are huge on plushes but would absolutely buy one if it’s you. The plush is kept in pristine condition, not even a spec of dust or a single stain will appear on your plus. Honestly the way they take care of your plush its condition somehow actually improves.

Vanilla Ice (It’s in a shrine with various other things somewhere)

Jojos bizarre adventure part 4 to 6...

Well, I just finished Jojo's, and I have no idea where to start. WHAT AN ANIME, WHAT A SERIES, AND HOW AMAZING EVERYTHING WAS. I started watching the series because of the memes and ended up watching one of the most incredible anime series ever. Seriously, what an amazing freaking anime, I enjoyed it like crazy. Let's break it down: Josuke's season was one of my favorites; I really liked the plot, and throughout the season, I was trying to figure out how the heck they were going to beat Kira, and while it didn't have as many memorable fights, the final battle is spectacular. Giorno's season also impressed me; it was the one I was most looking forward to, and it was totally worth it. The fights were great, and the ending too. Plus, the soundtrack for this season is exquisite, and it also has one of my favorite moments of the entire series and one of the reasons I started watching: The Torture Dance. And finally, Jolyne's season... it was my favorite of them all :v, great fights, great opening, spectacular villain (actually my favorite in the series), and with a final battle that can only be described as overwhelming. Bro, Pucci's stand is the most fucking cataclysmic power I've ever seen in any medium, I literally felt genuine distress watching the entire fight against Pucci. I'm trying to think of any character with a similar power, but I can't think of any (Edit: Antispiral too, cof cof); he literally reset the damn universe XD. One thing I loved about this series was the deaths, and those who have followed me for a long time will know that one of the things I hate most in an anime (especially in One Piece) is fake deaths, but in this damn show, they keep killing off all the protagonists and secondary characters, man, which, although it left me with a high degree of depression (Shigechi, Iggy, Avdol :''''v), I must say made the situations and fights completely adrenaline-filled. I was stressed out in every season, not knowing who they were going to kill off in each episode. The death that hit me the hardest was Shigechi's; the final moment gave me so much anxiety, and the fact that he ended up dying just before telling his friends... Now, my favorite fight was Everyone vs. Father Pucci, my favorite stands were Silver Chariot and Crazy Diamond, my favorite villain was Pucci, my favorite Jojo was all of them (Especially Josuke), my favorite jobros were Polnareff and Koichi, and lastly, my favorite season was Stone Ocean. The only thing I didn't like is that now I'm left wanting more. I could describe my experience with the following phrase: I don't know what I'm watching, but I can't stop watching it. What a great series.

jojos related q for u. im trying to make my partner watch enough jjba that they can understand why its iconic without making them sit thru too much of the. like. the chaff. i think im gonna make them watch all of diamond is unbreakable but .i wanna give them like an abbreviated stardust crusaders experience first. i just dont wanna do all 48 episodes... do u have a short list of fav stardust episodes id be delighted to have em. feel free 2 ignore u just have good taste & like jojo so i figured id ask

yayy okay so it's been a while since I watched stardust crusaders, but here's the ones I'd go with for an abbreviated experience:

episodes 1-5 - introduces the main cast, gives a feel for stands and how they work

the emperor and the hanged man pt 1-2 (ep 10-11) - polnareff action, avdol's "death"

the lovers pt 1-2 (ep 16-17) - steely dan fight, not plot essential but he's one of my favorite of the part's antagonists and his stand off with jotaro is so fun to watch

judgment pt 1-2 (ep 21-21) - cameo fight, avdol's return, group pissing

iggy the fool and geb's n'doul pt 1-2 (ep 25-26) - introduces iggy, n'doul's a great antagonist, the fight is a highlight of the part for me

bastet's mariah pt 1-2 (ep 30-31) - one of the funnier fights, and mariah fujos out

d'arby the gambler pt 1-2 (34-35) - some of the best drama in the part and helps set the stage for the other d'arby fight

episodes 38-48, with the dio's world arc best watched while drunk or deliriously tired

may want to sprinkle in some more of your other faves if you've got any but I think these are enough to set the tone for the core parts of the part/series. and of course make sure they get a taste of each op/ed, including the time stop one! 😌

Hello everybody once again. Since my thoughts are still scattered all over the place, here's another rambling post to distract myself and feel hopefully a little bit better. Only this time....with OVA Hol Horse. Again, took these screenshots by myself when watching the OVA.

First of, a golden Emperor! Ain't that neat? Instead of silver like the anime Hol Horse, I think it's an interesting take for a gun. Oh, and let's not forget the "Yes sireeee!" that OVA Hol pulls off with his silly southern accent, it's something I've picked up on doing because of him lmao.

Again, wish to be Nena in this scenario because he just looks so...comforting, even with those stone-blue eyes. Being held gently...told that I'm great...that I'm doing the best I can in life...all I need to hear from a cowboy like him..

These scenes man...the shadows on OVA Hol's face on the first 2 screenshots...he looks funny, but menacing at the same time...and Avdol's death is drastically different in the OVA as well. Where instead of Hol Horse in Part 3 letting out a brief laugh, OVA Hol Horse REALLY goes wild on the laughter, he sounds like an insane and goofy cowboy and goes on for quite a while with it, as if he's real proud of what he's accomplished.

Oh man this scene too, it's so cool...having OVA Hol actually shoot DIO instead of what transpired in Part 3 with Hol and DIO is so...it's a nice change. Plus, the way Emperor is being summoned in the OVA, it's crazy...it looks like Emperor is ripping his flesh, it's almost painful to see, makes me wince a bit haha. And in the OVA, this was a dream that had occurred to OVA Hol. Poor guy...must've been hellish to endure.

Speaking of hellish, this scene always infuriates me somehow? It's just. The dude is LEFT to ROT in Pakistan, and the Crusaders VERY clearly see him there! The least they could've done is take him to the hospital, NOT leave him in the middle of nowhere to lay there dead on the ground! Ugh, and even worse...is that I felt like he at least could've joined the Crusaders after his hospital visit. Besides, Avdol in the OVA for SOME reason is just. Fine after getting stabbed in the back by The Hanged Man, and only had Emperor's bullet graze his forehead. Appears out of nowhere in the Justice Arc just a-okay. Sure, the Crusaders explain to OVA Polnareff about everything but still. Stuff don't make sense man. Missed potential..

his heart aches at the thought of mr. avdol   &   iggy   &   the devastating reality that he will never see them again .   though the lofty likelihood of death had not been lost on any one of them as they sought out that   great evil   in the heart of the desert ,   that awareness had not made the grave reality any easier to accept   ━━━━   even more so for kakyoin ,   who had so narrowly managed to slip free from the clutches of his own demise .   what does it mean that he survived   &   they didn’t ??   how can he truly cherish the second chance fate had graciously offered him ,   but heartlessly withheld from his beloved comrades ?? 

mr. joestar urged him not to think that way ,   the few times he’d visited .   fate cannot be personified ,   cannot embody human attributes   ━━━━   it is a phenomenon beyond the bounds of even the vastest intellects ;   a   faceless ,   nameless deity   that rejects the perception of any prying eyes seeking to decipher its true nature .   but when kakyoin lies on the stark white sheets of this bed ,   cloaked in the depth of the night   &   left with only his thoughts as company ,   he cannot help but ask these unanswerable questions .   had their lives been given for his ,   somehow ??   is it fair that he will live the rest of his life while they remain frozen in time ,   at the   eternal end   of some tragic story ?? 

the late morning light spills through undrawn drapes ,   casting a beam of white warmth over his abdomen .   he opens his eyes just as the door to his room swings on its hinge ,   &   a half - curtained gaze doubles in width as a familiar figure crosses into the room ,   filling kakyoin’s vision like some kind of holy figure as daylight catches in his silvery hair .

“   polnareff ??   ”   he asks through a stolen breath ,   though no answer is needed .   sitting up nigh on ninety - degrees ,   a mountain of pillows tumbling down his straightened back ,   kakyoin reaches out for his friend almost instinctively ,   the intravenous tube burrowed into his arm swinging like a loose rope .   in an image that might be shocking to any who witnessed how sourly kakyoin behaved toward polnareff for the bulk of their shared journey ,   his   true regard   for him shines through ,   the glow of a campfire beneath the blackened desert sky ;   kakyoin is smiling wide ,    his dimples on full display as the whites of his teeth fill the space between rosy lips .

“   nobody told me you were coming ,   ”   he utters ,   voice airy with surprise   &   eyes alight with genuine mirth to see his friend ,   &   to see him looking well .   “   jojo said he hasn’t seen you since you went back to france .   you didn’t come all the way to japan just to see   me ,   did you ??   ”

I remember you calling Araki's writing with Kakyoin inconsistent (which yeah lmao) before so I was wondering about something specific. How do you feel about the whole 'it was Kakyoin's idea to keep Avdol's survival a secret from Polnareff' bit? It's always been something that sat wrong with me for a multitude of reasons even outside of Kakyoin's direct stated involvement, so I was wondering if you had any deep thoughts about it.

kakyoin was with polnareff the entire time of the hanged man arc (or like, only missed the beginning and he was with him for the entirety of the middle and end) and while kakyoin isn't above lying necessarily, he literally TOLD POLNAREFF TO HIS FACE THAT THEY WERE GOOD AND IT WAS OKAY NOW. like kakyoin lies sure but he also has fucking pride and honor he would not then GO BACK ON THAT not to mention he LITERALLY SAW HOW AFFECTED POLNAREFF WAS HE SAW THIS MAN SOB AND SHAKE OVER AVDOL'S "DEATH" LIKE AR EYOU KIDDINGFNJFD;KJ oh it makes me so fucking mad

i know that araki just wrote all this cause he didnt know how else to be like "oh yeah avdol's alive and he's just on this island and we can move on now i dont want to make a big deal out of it" cause he decided he DIDNT actually want avdol dead (fucking yet), but it's SUCH a fucking disservice to both polnareff and kakyoin and frankly everyone else (like joseph KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE THE "LAST CONVERSATION" WITH A FRIEND TO BE AN ARGUMENT AND THEN YOU THINK IT'S YOUR FAULT THEY DIED LIKE) OH FUCK OFFFF

i still need to find an interpretation of this event that can make me at least a little less sick to my stomach and a little less angry as fuck, but in the meantime i frankly just choose to believe this:

avdol instead of being saved by joseph and jotaro, gets saved by his friends in india. avdol constantly talked about how lovely a place india was and how much he loved it there so im absolutely sure he had friends and people he interacted with frequently there. i think THEY are the ones who saved him and tended to his wounds and shit. i think when avdol is healed he contacts the spw and is caught up to the crusaders while also bringing iggy with him. i think THIS is when he shouldve showed up on the island where the judgement fight was happening (the other crusaders were there not to pick up avdol but cause joseph bought the submarine bought from a resident of the island so. had to go get it). also this introduced iggy earlier. just godnjkjn GOD. anyway. long story short i think the "don't tell polnareff" thing is so stupid

Yeah, I do agree. Akari does very much have the Bury your Minorities trope in his writing a lot. Noticed the lack of women?(Outside of Lisa Lisa, who did not get a fair fight. Despite being 3x more powerful than Joseph.) Our only Canon gay couple doesn't even get spoken lines, they just die on screen brutally. (S&G p5)

like im not always one to say everyone living is a better alternative, because i see the impact with character death. and it worked well with iggy and kakyoin, but avdol was just? nothing? they really brought him back from the dead for 5 minutes just to half ass try to make his death emotional and everyone only sit on the death for half a second before moving on?? they really went! oh shit! avdol died fr fr! we better hurry and move on and not dwell on this at all, certainly not as long as the dogs death. but im like, idk i think avdol maybe shouldnt have been killed off twice with everyone kinda just either leaving him in the streets like a dog or barely getting the time to be upset about it.

also i havent gotten all the way through p2 so idk lisa lisa well but what i HAVe been told about her really is super :/ in terms of like letting her get to be cool swag.

Calm Down 👀

Look. I hate BK and seeing him in every arc (even when he's not needed) annoys me SO MUCH. But he will survive this for 3 reasons:

Death scare is a common plot twist in shounen genre. Characters are shown to be dead, but they survive or get revived later on. Series such as Fairy Tail and Jojo's Bizarre Adventures used this trope already. *cough* GRUVIA and Avdol *cough*

Story-wise, it looks like a moment to receive powerup. Characters get more powerful when they are about to die and have flashbacks to their lives. It's BS, but another common shounen trope and I'm sure Hori is taking this route 🤦

Let's be honest, this fandom is full of thirsty fangirls. They find BK "hot" and... he keeps winning the popularity polls. So killing him off at this point would actually cause loss of popularity and much less merch sales. I don't think Hori would want to take that risk.

On the other hand... letting him die for a while and focusing on other things would be great 😌

Mental Strength

Anakin loses his mom and cries then betrays all his people for a woman he ends up murdering.

Jotaro Kujoh literally have a crazy vampire man who’s highjacked his dead great great great grandpa’s body neck down put a hit out on his mom and he has to travel around the world to kill the vampire who kills like 2-3 of his friends.

You put Jotaro Kujoh on tattooine and he’s saving his mom. You put Anakin Skywalker up against Dio Brando and he folding.

Jotaro don’t even turn evil after losing his friends like that. Jotaro gets a marine biology degree and does his thesis paper while a serial killer running around his region.

Dude completes college while dealing with so much bullshit. Anakin can’t even fight a lil war and be a Jedi master.

Anakin skywalker has one bad dream and folds.

Dealing with the Opps

Jotaro Kujoh WOULD NEVER fold to any of his enemies. He knew that Dio Brando was an opp and he ain’t beg for his help. He beat Dio Brando ass and slid for his friends and mama. Dawg slid for Jonathan too. Dawg slid for his whole lineage

Imagine if Jotaro Kujoh begged Dio Brando to lift the curse on his mom in exchange for him being Dio’s lil goon like Anakin did with Sidious.

Nah, like dude ain’t even the chosen one, he just slid for Kakyoin, Iggy, and Avdol. He saved his mom because he ain’t fold

Jotaro is about action. He don’t talk he just do shit.

Anakin Skywalker see the man who literally apart of the Order he was once against, the man who orchestrated the deaths of thousands of people he lived with for a decade, and killed a peer right in front of him and just joined him.

Jotaro would have killed Sidious right there, no questions asked. Anakin would have begged Dio to stop, maybe even joined up with him to learn Dio’s power and get him to save Padme.

Power

Jotaro is a Stand user. That means Vader wouldn’t even see Star Platinum. Vader finna see Jotaro’s swag, be shocked and confused as to how tf his hat blends into his hair and that’s when Jotaro hits him with the thousand punches per second.

Vader lightsaber and force powers aint gon do shit to hurt the Stand so unless he get at Jotaro before the punches come out then it’s donezo for Vader.

Conclusion

That all a bitch gotta say about this. Y’all can disagree but this why I know who the fuck would win in combat

· The fight with Tower of Gray caused a problem with that plan though the stand itself had little effect on your trip. You only noticed when the group went bustling towards the cockpit, their tones betraying the importance of what was happening.

· You had ventured over and asked about the situation.

· The majority of the group had attempted to usher you out and Jotaro didn’t even respond. Still, Star Platinum kept you safe when the plane hit the water and you were practically carried into the lifeboat with the rest of the group.

· Your comment about the trip being more hazardous than expected earned you a glare.

· The rest of the group didn’t realise anything was special about you until you all arrived in Hong Kong officially and Jotaro led you alongside them to the hotel.

· Details about your relationship with him were quickly brought up after that though he seemed content to mostly ignore everything that was said. You found yourself enjoying the conversation with Joseph though he too felt that the trip was too dangerous for you to be on.

· Jotaro didn’t share a room with you in the hotel, instead having his grandfather get you one that was next door to his.

· Before he could disappear after making sure you were safe, you quickly apologised and asked if he was upset. He was always quiet but there was a heaviness to the air that made you feel as though you’d upset him.

· He told you that you hadn’t and that was the last of that.

· You missed your flight the next day when it became clear that Dio hadn’t sent just one person after the group. Star Platinum’s tendency to hover in front of you (whether you could or couldn’t see him) made it clear that you weren’t to be put in danger.

· Jotaro thought it would make you an easy target to send you back alone after you had been seen with the group.

· He was right and you quickly found yourself an occasional target for those who didn’t know any better. They never injured you badly but scratches and bruises became expected as you continued on the journey.

· Jotaro wasn’t affectionate normally but his coldness built up until one day, you asked if he resented you being there and apologised for your brash actions. You had no idea that the things they were involved in broke the lines of reality and fiction.

· He stared at you for a bit before sighing and wrapping one arm around you.

· That was all that you needed to fling your arms around his middle and squeeze him as tight as you could.

· He didn’t need to say it for you to understand that he didn’t hold it against you. Despite the constant danger that you were in, he had found himself calmer about the situation thanks to your presence. It would have been a much harder trip without you being there.

· Kakyoin thought he saw you several times but brushed it off as wishful thinking until toward the end of their Singapore stay.

· You were remarkably good at remaining undetected but more and more creepy things were happening, and it made you want to be closer to the group. It felt like the better option if you were putting yourself in danger anyway.

· There was a moment of silence when you made eye contact – your attempts at sneaking around now thwarted.

· So you raised your hand and waved.

· Kakyoin wasn’t sure what to think. For a second, he was sure that he was imagining it but your reaction to his unexpected departure had been suspicious in hindsight. You had gone from being devastated that he was just leaving without warning, to supportive about whatever he had to do.

· And this would be why.

· You made a joke about being mildly codependent when you sat down next to him, awkward and unsure of how he would react to you being there. It was followed by a question about his sun tanning wear that made him chuckle.

· Somehow, he wasn’t overheating in his uniform even though you were dying in just casual summer clothes.

· You apologised for not telling him that you were coming but pointed out how weird he’d been acting for the past few months. Sure, he had gone back to normal afterwards but you were worried. Especially because you knew fully about the slightly weirder aspect of his life.

· Whether you could see him or not, you felt Hierophant Green appear at the mention. He wrapped around your waist as usual. Close even when Kakyoin couldn’t be.

· As if to prove your worries correct, the first thing you found out after spending a day at the pool (pretending that you were just a couple on a regular vacation) was that an imposter had been walking around as Kakyoin.

· The others weren’t entirely on board with your presence and Kakyoin wasn’t happy with the amount of danger you were in.

· Several times he attempted to convince you that it would be safer elsewhere. He even asked Joseph to get you a plane ticket home at one point but each time you would see or experience something that added to your worries.

· The only way you were going home was if he was with you.

· You managed to remain mostly out of danger despite everything. The main threat you faced came in the form of Death 13 who quickly found a way to manipulate your cares for Kakyoin.

· After the first nightmare, you had started staying up later to make sure he was okay before going to sleep – thwarting the stand’s plans in a substantial way.

· When he nearly lost his eyesight, you didn’t sleep for days on end. You sat alongside the bed and waited for him to recover. Often, you’d think you should call somebody back home to let them know what was happening but he always asked you not to.

· While he was recovering, he asked you again to go home. The trip had almost doubled in danger and he didn’t trust Hierophant to be able to protect you fully.

· You refused once more and reiterated that you had come this far.

· You weren’t going to be going back without him at your side.

· Yeah, Polnareff wouldn’t have noticed you were following at all if it hadn’t been for Jotaro.

· It was shortly after they had arrived in Varanashi and you had accidentally drawn attention to yourself by laughing at Polanareff’s attempts at flirting with Nena. Though he himself hadn’t noticed that you were there, Jotaro had and he quickly come to the conclusion of having seen you before.

· You had made eye contact with him and quickly realised that continuing to hide was going to turn dangerous.

· So you waltzed over to your very distracted partner and draped yourself over his shoulders, playing with the earring and smugly smirking at whomever he had been flirting with.

· He was a flirt, that part you had never minded, but it was always satisfying to show off that he wasn’t truly available.

· Not having expected your sudden appearance, Polnareff had almost fallen over in his scramble to get away from you. After the shock subsided however, he had gasped and swept you into the air with an excited greeting and a seemingly endless stream of French.

· After you were put down, he rapidly introduced you to the rest of the group before realising that you weren’t meant to be there.

· You gave Jotaro an apologetic smile and mentioned that you hadn’t meant to cause trouble with your following.

· He had rolled his eyes and gone back to staring at nothing so you had to assume it was all fine now that you had shown you weren’t an enemy.

· Polnareff on the other hand had begun interrogating you to find out exactly why you had been in India when he remembered saying goodbye to you in France. Though admittedly, that memory was hazy due to the fleshbud having been in effect during time.

· When you explained his suspicious behavior was why you had followed in the first place, he gathered you close and squeezed you as tightly as possible.

· Your unexpected appearance came at the right time. After the bittersweet experience with the Hanged Man, Polnareff had been struggling and you acted as the best possible solution.

· You are a distraction, that much quickly becomes obvious, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

· Unfortunately, you did end up getting injured quite frequently while you were with the group but never once did Polnareff mention sending you home. You were never hurt in a way that would leave more than a small scar.

· The others did suggest it once but Polnareff had instantly shut that down.

· He could make sure you were safe. Why wouldn’t he want you with him at all times?

· You got quite a bit of attention during the trip, primarily from other men who all took great interest in you. It was entertaining to see the contrast between your casual attraction of attention and Polnareff’s active seeking of it.

· The only time either of you got actually jealous during the trip was of Iggy who had quickly realised how to exploit both of you.

· Surprisingly, you managed to follow the group all the way to Singapore before you were spotted by Avdol.

· You could have made it further still without notice but you had been so worried when their ship didn’t arrive in time that you just ran into Avdol the next time you saw him, hugging him as though he was going to slip from your fingers and never return again.

· Avdol was confused though he held it in well enough, just stroking your hair and reassuring you that he was alright.

· After you had calmed and pulled away, he touched your cheek before asking what you were doing there.

· You just shrugged and he sighed.

· Introductions happened then and you made an incredible impression on the rest of the group. Apparently Avdol had been sending you updates about his trip but due to your following, nothing had gotten through and you had to be caught up with everything they had learned.

· Stands were far from a foreign concept to you but you found yourself fascinated by the newer ones.

· Magician’s Red came out shortly after you had examined Silver Chariot closely – betraying Avdol’s otherwise well-hidden jealousy. He simply smiled and winked when you had given him a look because of it.

· He knew their trip would be difficult but Avdol couldn’t bring himself to send you home.

· You had spent such little time together since his first encounter with Dio (him having to flee Egypt shortly after) and he genuinely missed you more than he cared to admit. Additionally, Avdol was very certain that their group could protect you with the combination of knowledge and power they had.

· Avdol kept you well protected while you travelled. Nobody suspicious even got close to you while you were near him.

· He guided you away from dangerous situations with a hand around your waist and a smile on his face. You never even knew there was a problem. Those who got too close quickly found themselves at the mercy of Magician’s Red.

· Even if you couldn’t see his stand, the warmth of its presence would quickly alert you to its appearance. If you could see it though, Avdol would find it harder to brush off things as ‘precaution’ though he would still try.

· After his initial encounter with Hol Horse, you felt your entire world shatter around you.

· That was the end of your journey with the Crusaders as, after he was stabilized, you refused to leave Avdol’s side. You tended to him as best as you could while secretly hoping that he wouldn’t rejoin their quest after this injury.

· But as he recovered you realised that wouldn’t be an option.

· You volunteered to come with him again. Though you hadn’t been much help on the earlier parts of the journey, he was still injured and could probably use your assistance.

· The incident had been frightening to both of you however and when he next left, you weren’t with him. Before he left, you clutched at his clothing in a silent plead for him to stay.

· After the submarine disappeared beneath the waves, you sat down on the beach and just stared at the ocean for hours to come.

· You got to India before he noticed you and it was a complete accident.

· There was a problem with your hotel booking so you had to remain in the lobby for longer than anticipated – a hand propped on your hip and a bored expression on your face. You hadn’t anticipated that the group would make their way downstairs again, a problem with some missing room service.

· Honestly, he really should have noticed sooner given that the additional charges were coming from his account.

· To the others, nothing was wrong. Joseph just kind of stopped walking and you offered a simple smile in hopes that neither of your covers would be blown.

· He didn’t allow that to last.

· His shout of confusion made everybody jump and you turned around sheepishly. There were a few seconds while the rest of the group realised that you were the source of the commotion so you volunteered your information.

· You had been worried after Joseph’s stand developed (having been there when it happened) and you realised something dangerous was going on. While you weren’t planning on getting involved, surely it couldn’t help to at least know what was happening. From his stories, he didn’t exactly live the quiet life.

· Avdol – having met you before – had a feeling that you were trailing him and is pleasantly surprised to be proved correct.

· Joseph was irritated and worried and happy all at once which resulted in a half-hearted but very loud complaint about why you couldn’t understand what the word ‘dangerous’ means.

· He immediately demanded that you take the first plane home and you very simply responded with ‘no’.

· This resulted in a pretty one-sided argument where he continuously tried to urge you to stop being stubborn and just get back to safety. Your response remained the same to pretty much everything until eventually you just smiled and said that it was good to see him.

· That flustered him enough to cut off his tirade.

· A small silence was broken by the return of the hotel receptionist who couldn’t find a spare room to make up for the booking not coming through on their system. She began apologising when Joseph cut her off.

· It didn’t matter, you would be staying with him either way.

· Avdol sighed and commented something about having to change rooms when the question was finally asked by a very irate Jotaro.

· Who the fuck were you?

· There was a great deal of awkward stammering from Joseph before he eventually settled on saying that you were his assistant. You raised an eyebrow at that but went along with it.

· Though it was obvious that nobody believed it, the matter of your identity wasn’t pushed any further.

· You stuck around after that, mostly remaining at the hotel, and occasionally getting slightly hurt. Joseph made very sure that you remained far from any potential stands and you really didn’t mind that all too much.

· A rule was quickly made to make sure you weren’t ever left alone but that was just fine. You ended up dragging Joseph into too many stores, him complaining about it all the while, until you both left with at least one bag each.

· Jotaro didn’t warm up to you for a long time and even then, it’s more tolerance than anything else.

· The trip didn’t leave you badly injured but it strengthened your relationship with Joseph more than you had ever expected.

Ough this hurt so much! Im glad part 4 is less sad, i think i will get to it after i watch stone ocean (which i have the feeling will also be extremely tragic 😭)

I loved this part, im actually going to miss the crusaders, it feels like i lost real friends :'( i think the trip to egypt was a little too long but at the same time it really worked to make me care about the characters and their bond, plus most of the fights were very entertaining. There are a couple things that i didnt see the point of (like the little girl that followed them around for a while), but nothing that i disliked that much. It was a lot of fun all around! I love how creative the stands were

But that finale omg.... its so sad to see them just go separate ways after all they have been through.... i also couldnt believe avdol had really died i was in denial until araki confirmed his and iggys deaths... the last two volumes really are pain and more pain. I loved jotaros fight with dio tho, it was as epic and badass as i expected it to be, jotaro is such a great main character <3

Geez I wish I'd typed one of these for PB and BT but wellp that's the privilege SC gets for giving me a lot to talk about anyways here we go long post ahead

So okay I dunno who knows this from Twitter but I've been livetweeting all of JJBA in this thread, or specifically from this tweet onwards if you wanna see the SC stuff. That outta the way I do have some Onions on this part

First of all I loved BT and I cradle it in my arms every time I think about it if that provides context but ANYWAY ON WITH THE SHOW HERE

What I liked

I loved!! The characters themselves!!! I loved the dynamics that the Crewsaders (I saw Sage use that term and I stole it lol) had together. In particular I've found myself to be really weak for the friendship between Polnareff and Kakyoin lmfao like. LIKE:

These two have a very very stupid relationship together that hooked me in the second I saw them do that stupid fucking handshake in the submarine. And tbh while the handling of Joseph could've done some work I looooooved getting to see him be stupid again even in his fuckin' what fifties? I love him

Kakyoin isn't really there all that much and is mostly The Smart Guy but he's earned my blorbofication also. Kakyoin is just fantastic. I like him a lot, and I think he had a lot of potential if he were explored more, but even as he stands in canon he's like [bathes him in slime] :) he's in his natural habitat

(Because you will subscribe to my headcanon that Kakyoin likes slime. He has slime bottles. What the fuck is Emerald Splash but some fucked up slime)

That said I don't quite understand jotakak tbh but I like it and I'm all for it

Jotaro's MO being gaslighting also made me die laughing when I realized that was exactly what he was doing. He really is Joseph's grandson

I also liked a lot of the villains. Hol Horse, obviously. Vanilla Ice was also kind of a "holy shit girl help" kind of deal and fun to watch, though I wish he'd been around for longer. I liked Pet Shop and N'Doul too. I also liked the concept of the killer baby lmao. And oh oh even though I didn't really like her I think Enyaba's arc was extremely fun and had potential to be really fucked up

I also liked the showdown against Dio a LOT. I thought it was real menacing and while it kind of fell apart at the end I think that was satisfying to watch, and I was DELIGHTED to see my babygirl return and eat an entire ham on stage. Also Kakyoin and Avdol are both totally alive and well :) I accept my downfall and join the copium gangs

Also I had a running gag about the Crewsaders not getting to eat a meal for the entire show without it getting ruined or interrupted (this post kind of summarizes it) and I really do miss that little bit of stupid humour already

What I didn't like

Why the FUCK did Araki think it'd be a great idea to pad out the story with the ENTIRE arcana as villains showing up within the first half of the story. So many enemies got reduced to jokes, and then he brings in EVEN MORE enemies as Egyptian gods and it's like... see THOSE had interesting abilities, but I was so burnt out on wanting to get the plot moving already, damn it, that I didn't have that much fun. N'Doul and Pet Shop were fine. I liked what Anubis did, and then he got turned into a joke. The rest? Mostly also turned into jokes too. Whatever

I already detailed a lot of my issues here but to summarize that post Part 3 genuinely disappointed me with how much of a slog it was to get through. That combined with its tone being stuck between serious and funny until Araki comes in and goes like "Oh fuck the ending is here and I wasted all this time fucking around?? Uhhhh ok wait" then he kills Avdol and goes "haha TIME TO CRYYYY" as if that were gonna work. At least Kakyoin's death felt more gut-wrenching (haha ow) because the tone was already serious, but that's still a cop-out to me

And I bring up the tone issue because Hol Horse had this too. I mention it in the post but Hol Horse going from a serious scene with Dio like this

What, and pardon my Spanish, the absolute fuck was that. This extends to Dio too because--oh we beat him with a kick? Ok. He already did such a big deal out of sucking grandpa silly so now he's so powerful he literally turned Joker moment digging his own nails into his skull and he's a MADMAN and THREATENING and whoop we kick him and he goes poof like a piñata. Your huge villain, killed like a fly within seconds. Bro.

God. Anyway.

Unfortunately I also find that Polnareff is both a character I love and a character I hate. I loved the way he developed, his struggles, his friendships. Polnareff was for better or for worse the heart of the crew. I feel like he's the type of guy to genuinely ask everyone how they're doing and check in on their feelings whenever he's stopped being a piece of shit diva going woe is me and getting mad for being bullied by everyone. I like him for that

But Polnareff also takes up so much screentime... screentime that should've been devoted to other members of the cast. Kakyoin pulled a Caesar and got his shit explained the episode he DIED. Joseph got reduced to an old man joke and Hamon to a sidenote. Avdol got put on a bus for most of the show and died twice to save fucking Polnareff. And Iggy would've been interesting if he hadn't been a literal fart joke from the start of his stay

And Jotaro... bro Jotaro. I found him extremely compelling in the fight with Dio and the last few episodes where he revealed that gaslight gatekeep girlboss is his MO. I love that about him. I think he's fascinating for that. Nerves of steel but realizing he needs others to break before he does so he can do anything substantial. Cool as fuck. Ok now why did he get all this screentime and development in the second half while Polnareff was having an existential crisis about sacrifice and death and several episodes to himself

It's complicated. I love Polnareff. I hate Polnareff. Just.

Final thoughts

Part 3 is flawed. I can see where Araki improved as a writer and where he still needs polish, and I hope these issues get addressed in Part 4. But Part 3 is absolutely overhyped and I'm not that happy w it overall, and since I hear Part 5 absolutely fucks, I hope it lives up to that and I don't get swindled by the popularity hiding some glaring problems nobody seems to talk about when I mention it beforehand

Although to be fair, most of my issues with the show boil down to "why did we waste so much time" tbh. We spent so damn long frolicking in the sand making fart dick and bullying jokes I eventually stopped watching for a week just to calm down and prepare myself to waste more time. That hadn't happened to me, even with PB. It was a shock

I will eventually revisit Part 3 as I get a friend through this w me though, and we'll see if my thoughts change at all with the rewatch. For now though... thank fuck it's over (affectionate)

i have the part 4 manga now and i'll probs read it once i finish rereading part 3 manga (have not had much free time) so i'll probs get further into this when i get to that scene in the manga but basically yeah i do think jotaro was surprised stands could be so gentle so to speak (his perception of stands is not really great he's got so much trauma associated with them so i dont think he realized theyre not jsut weapons of mass destruction. i think seeing josuke reminded him of how avdol described them as manifestations of your soul, and oh right, not every soul is bad) and i do think he was jealous while also wishing he had that power for himself while also scolding himself for wanting something so undeserved (he clealry had issues anyway but the final nail in the coffin with him having timestop like dio, and thus having something so central to his being that it shows up in the manifestation of his soul in the same way it showed up in the manifestation of dio's, made him like. it kinda made him doom himself honestly he both didnt trust himself but also didn't trust anyone else and i think he longed to escape the path he'd carved for himself that he mistook for destiny and i think seeing such a stark contrast to what he preceives himself as (death, danger, doom vs healing, life, safety) made him like oh gdo fucking dammit why couldnt that have been me. and this isnt even getting into how he wishes he couldve had something like that to heal the crusaders. but you get the point)
