The people against bows becoming a trendy fashion accessory has annoyed me sooo much lately. Saw a tiktok that was like “if you get uncomfortable with us saying wearing bows infantilizes women and supports the patriarchy, it just means you’re uncomfortable with us pointing out you’ve been engaging in a harmful trend/behavior 😌” aaaaaAAAAAAH people online are allergic to nuance

#and their response to ‘just let people have fun’#was just ‘you don’t want to think critically about this to avoiding facing the truth’#it’s so weird how tiktok KNOWS which opinions will get on my nerves

#poll #I know some of you are curious to hear an update on my hell trip. Good news! I already have thumbnails for my day one comic journal.#A lot happened! There was a comically large block of cheese! I got lost in the woods at night!#But I digress. This post is about charcuterie. Which is apparently a high artform that people have strong opinions on.#I am genuinely curious to see how the results distribute. My hunch is that the board will be hilariously unbalanced #but I am willing to be surprised! Plus it is an opportunity to try drawing something outside of my zone of comfort.#Good luck to this board. Gobbled up the Dandadan anime and manga recently and absolutely adored it all. Not only does it feature the most likable and strongly written female characters I’ve ever seen in a shonen, it discusses extremely pertinent themes about consent and bodily autonomy from a lens of female solidarity while also elevating healthy relationships with kind communicative male characters who respect boundaries. It’s wacky, fun, gorgeous, and super refreshing.

#a lot of controversy swirling around but my personal opinion is that the story does a surprisingly fantastic job #with discussing the horrors of SA and violence against women without objectifying its characters #which is super new for a shonen the bar is definitely in hell but man is it refreshing to see abusers actually get punished #and to see powerful female characters who reclaim agency and uplift each other rather than rely on male saviorist storylines #written essays about it already per usual might blab more about it later but man what excellent character work #dandadan #dan da dan #okarun #momo ayase

The Charcuterie Board, as designed by your votes! Thank you to everyone who participated; this was a fun challenge!

#charcuterie saga #The original version of this was a watercolour but unfortunately I left it behind while travelling...#Along with some of my comic pages and my scripting notes (that's why I have yet to post more pd-mdzs...I funked it up big time)#This board was made on Dec 30th and I am very thankful to the people who helped donate various components to make it possible.#I took a few variations on the composition and while this one has some flaws - I think it has the most personality!#True Charcuterie fans will look at my choices and weep but I never promised good charcuterie!!! I promised accuracy to the poll!#Some elements stand in as 'double counting' in categories. Which was a survival technique for me.#I had to learn a lot of new things to make this possible! My skills like in making the physical wooden board - not the arrangement of food!#Rosemary was hotly debated as I personally do think it counts as edible (so not a valid pick for 'decoration').#I also thought tomato sauce could count as a fruit and spread.#My cursed hand has fingerprints in other parts of this tragedy. Beware looking too closely.#Of course there is a version of reality in which I have the disposable income to buy 20+ different kinds of cheese and-#-make this baby absolutely massive. Not the reality I live in though.#What a wild experience this saga has been. So many opinions about cheese (and other foods).#EDIT: I mislabelled the Salami! There is salami on the board!!!
