Thinking about a possible moment when the terrans realize that one day, they're going to outlive everyone they've ever known on earth
#going with the ''they have cybertronian lifespans'' approach for this post#and it's just the five of them#in this situation the transformers never get the allspark back#and there aren't any more terrans because the emberstone is gone#one day#it'll be just them#transformers#maccadam#aaaand now I'm starting to get existential about humanity and how //small// each and every moment is again#I'm just going to delete all those tags and cap this post off here#there's of course the possibility that the terrans DON'T outlive the other characters we've met in Earthspark#which. has. it's own implications#transformers earthspark#:3

I was just gonna do the adult timeline zelda but im so enchanted by the idea of these two versions of the same character. People always talk about how link would be changed but never zelda.
#tloz#princess zelda#sheik#majoras mask#ocarina of time#loz redesigns round 2#art#my art#redesigns#they had Entirely different teen years#a zelda who had to deal with the deaths of those close to her and having to be in hiding#meanwhile training up to hopefully take care of it on her own#only to seemingly doom her kingdom in the future to save another timeline from the same grief#creating this zelda who seemingly at most has one bad vision which is immedietly#confirmed by random fairy boy in the woods#and seemingly lives happily ever after?#i wish we knew more from the new timeline other than boring implications from tw-light pr-ncess#but yes i split different design element over both of them#oot zelda having shorter hair like her sheik form#while mm zelda keeps the long#also using some elements from the kid design like mm still kinda having that headband alongside the crown#the l-nks will be another post since i only have ideas for one right now

I think a lot about Leo standing up for his brothers in the things that really matter to them.
Like- Leo is the one who immediately pushes Mikey and Donnie into finding Raph the second it’s clear that their oldest brother is missing because he knows Raph can’t handle being separated like that.
Leo is the one who stands up for Mikey when Mikey wants to go on a solo mission, actively vouching for him and being the one to convince Raph into letting Mikey go, because being independent and proving himself just as capable of standing on his own two feet as everyone else means so much to Mikey.
And Leo defends Donnie’s honor in particular when his brothers’ intelligence is insulted because Leo is well aware of how important Donnie’s smarts are to him - and how important having those smarts valued and acknowledged is as well.
All this goes right into just how well Leo knows his brothers. For as much as he’ll tease or fight with them, he knows them, and he loves them.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt leo#rottmnt headcanons#rise leo#listen Leo loves his family SO MUCH#and like it’s no accident that Leo is consistently the one to give pep talks that#very notably#are less ‘everyone as a group’ and more ‘all of you individually’#it’s heartening to see honestly and like#it works with how he is as both a person and as a fighter#he knows people he knows them so well he knows how they work what they’re like#which is SO USEFUL for subterfuge AND portal/teleportation strategy#my guy is charming his charisma comes from his understanding of people at an individual level#when he wants to be he is very very good at that#he’s still a teen who is too cocky for his own good at times but that does not negate his stellar other moments#he can be selfish he can be mean he can be rude but when push comes to shove he is so quick to stand up for his family#Mikey’s statement at the end of the movie about how Leo NEVER gave up on THEM is so important because it’s not JUST about the movie!!#that’s Leo as a whole he will never give up on his bros#portal jacked is telling of this too because although it has a lot of comedic moments#never once does Leo stop looking for a way to get his bros back#they’re everything to him#he’s the face man he’s a people person and he’s the number 1 pet turtle which I will discuss the implications of in this essay-#Will also say that when Leo does these moments of standing up for his bros he’s never expecting praise for it#he’s just glad they find Raph he just smiles when Mikey tells him he loves him he never mentions defending Donnie#leo has a tendency to show off fancy glittery moves but his real actions and feelings are sooo much more lowkey#that you have to be actively looking for them to catch them all#and I really really like that about him it’s so interesting HE is so interesting

The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.
#also idk how to tell you this but even if it were true. wealthy children potentially sacrificing their educational careers to protest is#a good thing actually. idk how to tell you that caring about people from other nations is good#personal#“this war has nothing to do with most students cuz nobody's getting drafted” idk how to explain to you that we should be angry#that our tuitions of 10s of thousands of dollars that we pay every year for an education is being used to fund a genocidal campaign#also the implication that if you go to a uni institution you are automatically privileged by participation no matter your bg#i didn't /want/ to go to this school. i was supposed to go to a school with an art/animation program. but i realized my immigrant#parents have been working their whole lives to get me here. and turning the opportunity down would be a disservice to their sacrifice#this is getting into convos of “what 2nd gen kids owe their parents” which is different for everyone but. yeah#i just get pissed off at seeing people misrepresenting student bodies as “wealthy” and “privileged” and “elite” when it's such a blatant li#i remember a year ago a friend told me they can't fly home to hong kong for winter break because the plane tickets are too expensive#so they have to find temporary housing around the area#last quarter for a film doc class my film partner made a doc on a small group of marxist grad students from india discussing praxis#during a rally a few months ago in response to police presence the coalition invited palestinian students to speak about their experiences#and lead songs and read poems they wrote. these are STUDENTS. are they elitist too?#this is not to disregard my own personal privilege either.#this whole narrative's just to rationalize a lack of empathy to me. seeing a 19yo student get shot by a rubber bullet and your first#reaction is “HAW! HAW! bet richy rich didn't see THAT coming when she put on her terrorist hood!”#newsflash. these big uni campuses are HAUNTED by the violence of past protests and revolutions and police brutality. we know.#why do you think these coalitions have been making reinforced barricades at record speed

While I think your theory about Hexcore rejecting Mel's magic sounds very plausible, I'm not sure if Mel actually knows what she can do with it or even about its existence. To me it felt like she what she did was more of a reflex, and subconsciously protected Jayce too. I also think she might've managed to shield more people if she knew what she was doing - but this is more of a speculation.
Hello anon!
I think your theories make a ton of sense! I love it whenever anybody investigates what Mel's thoughts and situation are like in the show. Arcane is endlessly fun because it rewards us for not taking what we see at face value.
We just don't get much of Mel's dialogue about the attack, so I can totally see it happening where Mel was told her gold parts are one thing, when they're actually another, and she doesn't know that they are Arcane objects that can create a shield. In that case, then yes, it makes perfect sense as well that she would run to Jayce out of sheer instinct.
I really love the idea that Mel could have shielded more people if she knew how to control her armor better, or at all. Mel is really burying her thoughts and emotions down deep this season, and I think she has some guilt that she's burying as well, while Jayce's feelings of guilt bubble to the surface immediately because he wears his heart on his sleeve. So she prefers to take care of Jayce rather than experience catharsis herself.
I've also played around with the idea that, if her magic really does clash with Viktor's, she could've protected everybody if Viktor had not been there for his magic to interrupt hers. I'm an angst fan, so I like the thought of Mel needing to contend with her desire to protect people and her failure to do so (whether it was ever in her control or not) - this is a desire and a failure that Jayce and Viktor share, by the way, so Mel struggling with that desire as well while not being a fighter or inventor herself would be fitting and an interesting twist on her character.
Personally, I am very interested in a situation where Mel does know that she has a shield, she knows it has limitations, and she has only a split second to make a critical decision: stay where she is and save a couple of her fellow Councilors (including Cassandra btw...) and probably Jayce, or run to Jayce and guarantee his safety while risking the others' lives? It says a lot about the depth of her feelings that she chose Jayce in this scenario. This makes Mel similar to Jayce - her emotions push her to make a choice that is best for her personally, but might hurt others around her, because her desire to protect what she loves is so strong in a crisis.
I do absolutely agree that Mel's shield works automatically. I don't think she controls whether it deploys or not. (The only point against that is that it seems like the armor warns her right before an attack - why do that unless it's Mel's job to activate the shield herself? We'll see) Given how tired she was at the start of ep1 though, it seems like it takes a lot out of her when it is used. Either the shield is single-use, or it takes a long time to "recharge," or it only works when Mel's life is actually in danger, which is why it didn't deploy when she was pistol-whipped at the memorial. This could also explain why Ambessa was comfortable with putting Mel in danger at the memorial - if something went wrong and someone did try to kill Mel, maybe the shield would have deployed after all. But we won't know that for sure until Mel is attacked again.
I personally think Mel is simply hiding the shield from everyone. So far from what we've seen, no one else in Piltover works with magic in any way unless they're a techmaturgist/engineer like Viktor or Jayce. Magic - non-Hextech magic - still appears to be taboo in Piltover society. I also think it's telling that in Mel's scene with Lest, there was a play going on about Demacia next to them, a place that hates and mistreats mages. This hints to me that Mel has reasons for hiding any Arcane objects or abilities she may have.
#ask me#arcane#spoilers#arcane spoilers#arcane s2#mel medarda#mel arcane#thanks for the ask anon! i love talking about arcane theories and i hope you've been having fun this week thinking about the show#because i sure have!#i have a small suspicion that mel does control when the shield works bc that would mean that mel would have rather been hit in the face#than reveal that she has an arcane shield in front of an audience of hundreds#which has its own implications#but occam's razor says the shield just works automatically so i'm running with that for now

...and I'll tell her so she knows That I'm broke, but I'm real rich in my head That I broke a bone that never healed in my hand So when I hold her close I might loosen my grip, but I won't ever let her go I won't ever let her go.
this is mostly what i was really wanting with that concept art i posted forever ago. that's why i drew the bones with pens lol.
the chorus of Forever is so tanguish and helsknight that it hurts meeee!!! like maybe the song itself has too much of its own story to be them but specifically this part of the chorus goes crazy. and also "I won't be alone for the rest of my life."
if you give me blorbos i WILL relate them to a noah kahan song it's just a matter of time
(also this means u can stop rb'ing the concept art bc it sucks!!!!!)
[Redstone and Skulk] is written by the amazing @silverskye13 ‼️ go read it ‼️
#treewords#mossarts#redstone and skulk#rns#rns tanguish#rns helsknight#i based helsknight's hand off my own which was probably a bad decision because i have tiny bony ass hands#hence the pronounced wrist bone :/#idk if there's a lore implication in the fact that helsknight has broken bones in his hand bc respawns fix everything?#and i don't think he's punched anything since his last respawn???#lol whatever. this is based on vibes JUST LIKE THE LIP SCAR THAT I ALWAYS DRAW HIM WITH ‼️

The "Dan Heng is Dan Feng" dogmatics annoy me a lot. It entirely brushes off one of the most interesting and prevalent questions posed by the game, incarnated by several characters and stories that give the question different hues with different potential answers, and a constant also in HI3, like a thread waving the two games together
#The question about what makes a person themselves is super interesting#Is it the memories? Is it personality? Is it body? Is it resemblance? What about narrative reiteration?#Bronya is not Silver Wolf but they're both HI3 Bronya but also they're not#Is March the same person she once was? What about the Trailblazer? Welt looks at Himeko and Silver Wolf and feels like drowning#but he is looking at nothing other than something eerily recognisable#Vidyadhara are reborn anew as if washed clean but Dan Heng's process was skewed. What does it mean to Dan Heng?#He has the body he has the moves he has the stern haughty air he has muddy memories he can't quite recall but something stays#Is he or is he not the same? Where does one end and the other start? Where do they overlap?#Does how others regard him influence whether he is or isn't Dan Feng?#Does the memories of others weight more than your own memories and will?#What does constitute a person? How is selfhood constructed? What are the ontological implications of all this?#If you respond to these questions one way in one context when it comes to one character‚ can you confidently reply the same thing#in a different context for a different character? If not‚ why? What does it say?#It's not a straight up answer. The question is what's interesting and it's what makes Dan Heng's story interesting#Seeing it dogmatically negated mainly for the purpose of a ship annoys me a lot#It is a constant in HSR but it's even more clear after playing HI3. This problematic about what constitute identify and selfhood#and whether or not they're the same thing is a constant there too. With Kiana‚ with Otto‚ with Kevin‚ with Fu Hua‚ with the simulations#of the Flame Chasers most notably with Mobius but in general with the continuation of their goals and feelings‚ Klein as human and as ELF‚#the iteration of consciences of the Herrschers‚ the puppets of the Herrscher of Domination‚ the influence of the Herrscher of Corruption‚#the many times characters are found in different universes being slightly different yet recognisable‚ the amount of times characters seem#to reiterate existences in different eras‚ echoing past selves with past faces yet different‚...#And usually it's not easy to respond to all of them with the same answer‚ which only opens more questions. It's extremely interesting#and it's obviously a topic Honkai as a game cares about a lot. But no. Nothing matters. Dan Heng *is* Dan Feng yes or yes no questions asked#No problematic. No questioning. No doubts. All usually because of a ship. That the drive. I don't know... I'm all for shipping#but I quite dislike when shipping gets so out of hand it crushes and brushes off good writing or core motifs in a text. It's... shabby#And it saddens me haha. Why do you even care about these characters and their dynamic if you're erasing core traits of them as characters?#Abfkabdkkd anyway...#I talk too much#I should probably delete this later#But I had to vent a little. It annoys me a lot this kind of approach to analysis what can I say

Thinking about a scenario where, after Hornet is taken to Pharloom, Ghost and Hollow proceed to gear up with whatever equipment they need to keep their memories while travelling through the wasteland and go after her kidnappers.
But by the time they arrive at Pharloom, the events of Silksong are either in the middle of happening or have already concluded, and since Hornet wasn’t given anything to retain her memories when she was captured, she doesn’t remember anything from Hallownest. Hornet doesn’t know who the two Vessels are, or even what a Vessel is, and as far as she knows Hallownest is some ancient ruined kingdom that she heard about maybe once in passing. Hornet just remembers waking up in that cage as she was brought into Pharloom, a couple blurry memories of being brought through the wastes, and whatever she went through in Pharloom.
Cue potential Angst.
#hollow knight#Silksong#Hollow Knight Hornet#Hollow Knight Ghost#Ghost and Hollow are going through their own full character arcs trying to cross the wastes and reach Hornet#but by the time they get there Hornet has no idea who they are#she just remembers some very blurry wasteland memories#her mind fully clearing up and memory becoming actually useable upon enter Pharloom#whatever horrors she’s been through so far in Pharloom#and a lot of gay thoughts about Lace that take up like 40% of her mind at any given moment#but she either refuses to admit that or hasn’t figured out the concept of Enemies/Rivals to Lovers yet#point is she has no memory of her original home life or siblings#which comes with its own implications even without the two vessels being there

why is it so controversial among feminists to aknowledge that men who come from countries where women have no rights do not like it that we actually do have rights in the west? I'm a social worker in a part of town with a huge arab, turk and romanian-roma population, as immigrants they're more likely to require social services so I mostly have to deal with them. It's grimm what the men have to say about their wifes, daughters and sisters. despite living in a liberal western country the women are not allowed to go outside alone, the girls aren't allowed to join clubs where boys are present (tbh I'm ok with this bc the boys are incredibly sexist and all they do is sexually harass girls when one tries to befriend them, so sex seggregetation IS safer for the girls) they're forced to wear hijab and abaya (if muslim), men proudly proclaim they would divorce their wife and disown their daughter if they stopped wearing hijab. Like, this isn't racism it's reality if you don't preach from your isolated ivory tower but actually work with these people. They come here to reap the spoils of the social care system but want to opress the very people who provide it, since most social workers are women. the entitlement of these men knows no limits, we're all just whores supposed to service them and kiss their feet as feminists we need to stop being tolerant of ideologies and "cultures" that actually want to destroy our autonomy and see us as cattle, it doesn't matter if it's gender ideologues or immigrant men, they aren't poor little victims, they hate western women for stepping out of line and rising above their designated role as servants for men and they hate their daughters whenever they turn out too "western" raised here just as much
right. and white (western) men love women having rights thats why there is no pushback whatsoever. do you know how many white men love andrew tate? „ivory tower“ girl i used to volunteer at a refugee home and homeless shelter. nobody said these men are not misogynistic i dont know what you think you are proving here by listing all the forms their misogyny takes? i know! and this whole „they only come here to smooch of the social security“ is rightwing rhetoric. all i said is that race is no indicator of misogyny. all men are misogynistic and are as blatant about it as they can be without repercussions. also yall seem to heavily confuse race, nationality, culture, and ethnicity. please point me to where i called them poor little victims? racists are so annoying lmao
#ask#also romanian men are often white? what#and like yall know that there are very religious and traditional white men. right?#it just exposes your own bias to make this about race#the implication is always that western men (because lets be real thats what you mean when you say white#which is an additional form of racism lmao)#are somehow less misogynistic and supportive of womens rights#and making it about race ALWAYS has the undertone of innate inferiority#god i could go on for ages with nuance and shit but yall racists wont listen anyways

Thinking about the portrayal of ancestry in Horizons.
#something about depicting adult characters as full people with their own motivations and lives as opposed to just making them flat#or not going deeper than a dichotomy between bad and good. it's refreshing to see stuff that feels real and poignant#i've been rotating rystal gibeon crave quite a lot in my mind lately. love the implications here and there about rystal and leyla#not telling you everything but leaving enough implications to imagine stuff.. i can think of a whole life for rystal and it's neat.#also i like that.. every family member feels like their own person. that thing about everyone having their own life and feelings.#liko is different from lucca and diana. but there are still moments which feel affectionate where you can think she takes after them#refreshing take on ancestry tbh. it strikes delicate balance between knowing your roots and past and finding yourself#learning about past tragedies to give them proper closure because you can't do that if you don't know what happened#even with gibeon.. very pleased and impressed that they are putting care in his character's depiction#specifically showing him as a young man and giving depth and perspective to him. allowing him to be a full character.#instead of just saying he is terrible and ending it at that. he gets to be someone with dreams and motivations and relationships#we've seen little of crave but the implications are there to pick apart and they are interesting#it genuinely enriches amethio's character and his side of the story. to make his relatives distinct people with their own perspectives#like.. instead of just saying his relatives are the worst evil!! they are putting care in the depiction and make them nuanced#characters who feel real.. strained and messy relationships with room for growth and development#definitely gives me more appreciation for the narrative in general. it's a kind of story that i find appealing#actually pleased that ame's side of the story is like that.. it could have been flat but thankfully it isn't.#stories with multiple layers and perspectives to them. my beloved.#anyway the portrayal of ancestry and adult characters in horizons is neat. and interesting.#the way they are tackling that kind of narrative to add to characters like liko and amethio. it's cool#hopefully. we get more on gibeon soon. he specifically has me intrigued.. him and crave too.#the writers definitely have specific themes they like and it shows through the story.. it's neat.#character notes

Actually wait a minute, we have to remember that Tarantulas spiderified himself
His current frame is a modification rather than a matter of wild genetics
Chances are, if he's going to be popping out any kids or sparking anyone else up, chances are they'll take more after his previous Mesothulas frame as opposed to his current Tarantulas frame
I suggest this for comedic reasons
#transformers#maccadam#mechpreg#idw tarantulas#idw mesothulas#same guy#unnamed characters#I've been thinking about mecha who've gone through major changes having sparklings who look like who they used to be#*looks at Reformat Georg* (Megatron)#unless we're suggesting reformats change your CNA. which has implications.#then AGAIN_ I'm making assumptions about cybertronian genetics here about the offspring looking like a mix of their creators#we could look to how mtmte describes protoforms starting out as gray cylinders and developing their looks based on their environment#which has its *own* implications#thinking

honestly so bullshit that we got Tarble tossed at us as a concept, reminded of his existence in the Battle of Gods movie and Super Broly, and then never another thing about him. Like, on the one hand, there isn’t enough of his actual character for me to be attached to him for that reason. All we really get is that he’s a lot more polite than Vegeta, willing to ask for help, was able to maintain a romantic relationship, and that he either wasn’t that strong of a fighter, or possibly didn’t want to fight? (I’ve seen different translations and I still can’t tell which of those two things it is, and there’s a huge difference between those two concepts.) I know that’s enough for some people but I’m relatively slow to form attachments to characters and I need more than a half hour special sadly. However, the idea of him has a lot of interesting potential for me.
Like, clearly he knows who his parent(s?) is/are and that Vegeta is his older brother. He was given at least that much information, so I assume he didn’t get tossed away at birth? But I guess it’s possible that he got given this information later. It could have come from the space pod’s computer or the people on the planet he was sent to (which I am pretty sure is called Tech Tech?). But I'm assuming that he was at least old enough to sort of understand what happened/who the people around him were, which would actually make him pretty close to Vegeta's age. Did they actually get to interact at all? Or do they just know of each other's existence?
Tangent, I do also think that whoever was writing the special either forgot or didn’t know that Vegeta was supposed to be like, at most 7 when his dad died so even if Tarble was born on the same eventful day that Planet Vegeta exploded, they’d only be 7 years apart at most. Genuinely, why do they draw Tarble like a child, this man should be like 35 years old, he’s Goku’s age at minimum.
Anyway, did Tarble like, know that he was sent away for not being strong enough? How does he feel about that? Like, is that a good thing to him because he ended up in a much better place than he would have been (dead or with Freeza)? How much does he know about saiyans? How much do the people on Tech Tech know about saiyans and the history involved?
Speaking of people on Tech Tech, Tarble grew up on a planet where he is blatantly not the same as anyone else around him. Goku at least was not easily distinguished from humans and so everyone just kind of assumed he was a weird human but there’s no way that happened for Tarble. What was that like? Especially if they did have any knowledge of what saiyans are supposed to be like. There's so many things that might be interesting to explore but we don't get to see any of them.
Also, the amount we see of Tarble's personality basically entirely disproves any "saiyans are inherently evil/bloodthirsty" claims.
#tarble#i am going to go find dballzpostings tarble comic to reblog again actually because it evokes emotions in me#this is part 1 I decided to leave the Implications For Vegeta to its own post because Tarble only exists in so much as he is#usually just trivia that Vegeta has a brother which is half my problem so I'm focusing on him as a character here and then I get my self in#the other half of my problem is that they didn't even actually have him interact with Vegeta lol

There was an interesting discussion on reddit the other day and I'm curious what do you think.
https://www.reddit.com/r/InterviewVampire/s/vw0HwPGfzA
Personally, I think Lestat would've went bananas so much faster. With his own rough upbringing among brothers, he'd be much tougher in his parenting to begin with. He also viewed Claudia as romantic competition for Louis, despite him being very much gay and her being his CHILD (I doubt it was intentional on his part, but we feel what we feel). With a boy he'd see it as direct replacement of him imo - 1 for 1 repeat of The Marquis/himself/Gabrielle clusterfuck of his youth.
Oh, interesting! Yeah, I think I agree with you, anon. I think Claudia being a daughter did allow him a degree of separation that a son would not have, both in the sense of his own family make-up and trauma, and in the fact that I think Lestat didn't initially see Claudia as a replacement for himself (I do think he ended up there, and do think he viewed her as a romantic rival too, which I promise I'll answer that longer ask about one day, haha, I just have a lot of thoughts on it! Both in terms of the Gabrielle-Lestat-Claudia of it all, but also in the sense of it as a gothic trope), but rather that he saw her as a replacement for Grace.
I think for Lestat in the moment of it, he really saw Claudia as this mark of Louis' past and a means of him still trying to hold on to his humanity, which is particularly interesting when you consider the fact that Louis tries to sell her to Lestat as the opposite. He coerces Lestat into making her for him on the pretence that she represents a step forward together, a commitment, an inhuman family of which she would bind them as children do bind parents (whether they like it or not).
If Louis had brought a boy home in the aftermath of effectively breaking up with Lestat (and after Jonah), I just don't think there'd be any way for Lestat to divorce the idea that this wouldn't be a son for them but an eventual partner for Louis? As you said, the nature of his incestuous relationship with his own mother, along with the fact that Louis' gay, along with the fact that Lestat has a degree of insecurity in that relationship for a whole range of reasons (Louis' rejection of hunting / vampirism that Lestat sees as a rejection of him, his refusal to say I love you, Jonah, etc etc) I think would've borderline made it impossible, but when you also consider how formative male family violence was in his childhood, as well as how disastrous turning Nicki was - - I almost think Lestat would've been able to say no to Louis if it was a son?
It's a really interesting thing to consider!
#there's also an interesting element there too like#if it was a boy would a part of lestat also consider it a replacement for paul?#and what are the implications there?#both for lestat and for louis?#i think lestat's actually more resentful of male closeness to louis than he is to female closeness#like he seems to have more of an issue with paul than he does with grace which could be down to his own issues with his brothers#and obviously has much more of an issue with jonah than he does with lily#sure a part of it's that louis' gay but still#it's interesting#it makes me sooooooooo curious as to what lestat's going to be like with daniel next season hahah#iwtv asks#louis asks#lestat asks#claudia asks#kind of#unholy family

i do find it really interesting the amount of adam-lives AU fan content where they depict adam just going back to live in the same apartment. even if he doesn't die in the bathroom there is still a sense that he is easily trapped by place, a tendency to haunt, etc.
#r#saw 2004#adam stanheight#i like it bc i think it recognises the implication that adam does actually have quite a defeatist attitude towards his own quality of life#which also links to my thoughts about how yes it is interesting that adam (in the script) states he wanted to become a vet#and that i think anyone who actually lets him achieve that ambition in fan media has missed the point lol

an unnecessary reminder i will go to bat any day of the week for james sunderland.
#ooc. o kaptain.#[listen. i know he can be interpreted a lot of ways. i know he’s a useless weird apathetic shitty cis white man. i know he’s weird and sad.#and do I hate characters like james usually? oh absolutely. but the man has potential to not be terrible and it’s all there in his source#material. plus the weird implication i always feel when we know his dad owns the apartment building in silent hill 4 and ‘his son and#daughter in law disappeared in sh’ which aligns with the in water ending. and confirms the body in the car. but my other vibe is… where was#anyone helping james while Mary was sick…? he was super young and so was she. was he just literally taking on this terminal illness on his#own without any real support? that’s the implication considering this trauma wouldn’t have scarred him to this degree if he HAD a support#system during Mary’s illness. the man was literaly left to deal with the love of his life PROBABLY newly married slowly dying. and totally#unprepared he tried to do the best he could with a horrible situation. Mary was the victim here unquestionably — he fucking killed her— but#what the fuck kind of neglect has to go into a situation to a level so prolonged that he cracks and does it? how many people DIDNT help him#OR Mary during her illness? how many people just didn’t care? deciding ‘James is bad and he did it because he’s selfish and terrible’ isn’t#realistic. and also no. he didn’t do it because he couldn’t have sex with her anymore we get it blah blah pyramid head. if you take it THAT#straightforward idk what to tell you. nothing is. and this game is only more complex the older i get.]

blamore having to wear things like back-less shirts / lower - cut tops and just items of clothing that will allow him SOME sort of free range of movement for his tail in general + will actually not constrict his rib cage may just make him a fashion icon y'all... sorry, i don't make the rules ( nah i'm just joking around with you guys LOL... mostly )
#IT WAS PROBABLY NOTHING BUT IT FELT LIKE THE WORLD: musings.#MAN IS BOUND TO LIE ABOUT HIMSELF: headcanons.#and he also wears cut-off shirts that may have like. rips in them or netting in the front of them due to the fact that one of the-#downsides of his transformation that is more like a minor inconvenience than anything is that he can no longer wear a lot of-#materials and so he kinddd of has to either make his own clothes or get a special tailor to make them for him? so yeahhh BUT he can also-#wear like loose clothing if he wants to completely cover up his rib cage for some reason. though no matter what he HAS to have some sort of#free range of movement for his tail bc it gets very irritated and stiff if it's like stuck in one position for too long / bound in some way#so that's why he has a habit of wearing partial / cut-off shirts and stuff bc he values comfort a LOT + this may have some implications-#behind it if/whenever he's imprisoned because you already know most people are NOT going to risk him having even partial rein-#over it's tail so they would make it so that he can't move it and wouldn't give a shit if it was uncomfy / eventually painful for him.#though blamore would CERTAINLY care and at least try to lash out at whoever's keeping him locked up (which coulddd theoretically be-#arkham since they do have special containment cells for those like Killer Croc and Man-Bat) but they would really have to limit his movemen#because trust me when i say if you allow it to still practice it's bone-manipulation then he is going to be planning each and EVERY-#person's decimation who put him there so... yeah. that's lovely ain't it y'all JSJSJ LMAO but again being compassionate towards patients-#/ inmates in arkham is something that DESPERATELY needs to be practiced though it's certainly missing most of the time from-#the place unfortunately.
