Hello hello, am intrigued by your time travel MCC daydream thing and would love to read more rambles about it.

Who all are the adults in charge there? I think you mentioned Scott and Joel and Lizzie? Anyone else in mind?

And does time traveled Grian get to experience a respawn himself during this? Totally agree he'd be a top tier survivalist buuuuut...

Kay I typed out a really long nonsensical ramble so this time I'm just going to go down the list of S3 players and anyone I don't specifically mention in these two lists is someone I've either never heard of before or can't decide

I specifically think that while Ranboo would be good daydream fuel, I am unfortunately bound by the logic of "nahh he really wouldn't opt in would he" and that Grian on the flip side did it because all of his friends kept gushing about how cute he would be and Grian was 80% sure he would win dispite coming from a permadeath world.

And yes, grian dies while practicing parkour, and and gets disqualified from participating like 2 weeks before the event, which is pretty damn long because I've set the beginning of the daydream as 4 months. At that point he had gotten accustomed to other people dying, but slipping up and falling for the first time into the void, being so sure he was going to die and then suddenly waking up in a bed but still feeling vertigo from falling was entirely different, and Etho [who at this point in time had been set as a teammate for Grian] had to calm him down, and later told Scott that Grian couldn't play in the event.

The rest of Grians time is spent relaxing since he didn't have to worry about dying [he does die at least 3 more times, but most people are being careful around him and hes both grateful for it and despises it], and doing way too much exposition because YHS Grian has an idea that his childhood is definitely not a normal or relatively good one, but hasn't had enough experiences outside of Tokyo since enrolling in Acedemi high to really draw the line on what's like actually kind of horrifying. Specifically he's hesitant to share that he killed people because Grian doesn't want to get outcasted or be seen as a murderer [who would], but everyone around him can't even imagine having to live with the guilt that you permakilled another player, since murder is a relatively light topic and punished with a slap on the wrist for most worlds

Oh I'd also like to add a few logistics and world building things, the biggest one is that anyone who opted into this event [MCC Time Warp maybe? I'm bad at names] was able to choose at what time their past versions would be, and most chose around 14 - 18, though a few chose to be 19 or even 20, and obviously people like Tommy went way under the average because he thought it would be fun and more chaotic, but Scott refused to let anyone chose under 10 years old. When the event is over, not much memory carried over, being incredibly foggy and getting embarrassed by their friends telling them what happened while they were regressed. I'm thinking the actual way they get them travelificated is either some redstone magic and basic time travel box y'know, something that will read a players code to see what year they can grab from based on how old the player is, or something like a more stable recreation of the rift since this daydream is very Grian centric, and the rift will just intrinsically know when to pull a player from when they step through.

Teams for this event are decided about a month before the event, Scott figuring that after 3 months they would have surely figured out exactly who wasn't mentally or physically able to compete [he was wrong] and by the actual event, 8 players have been disqualified. 30 players were time traveled because they expected people to need backup players, and each team is composed of 2 adults and 2 children/teens, with the teams mainly being balanced for safety rather than skill level and the younger kids getting placed with the most responsible adults or a much older teen teammate.

Yknow what? I'd actually go so far as to say that, as much as ive seen it complained about, it's actually pretty hard to "UwU" or "Woobify" Grian within the context of yhs.

I mean. It's possible if you go really extreme with it, but it's hard.

Grian at his core is actually a primarily decent person most of the timeand is a primarily innocent party in most things. One who goes through a Lot.

If you really think about it Grian's moral compass isn't too far off normal basic human morality. He's often anxious and hesitant when faced with any involvement in criminal activity, he's frequently dismayed and offput by suggestions of violence (the less deserved the more dismay is expressed as well), he's disappointed and frustrated at seeing the people around him do fucked up things, he's almost always polite with a good head on his shoulders when faced with a kind or reasonable person. Even well into ts, long after first coming back to Japan, Grian is still incredibly uneasy and fidgety with the suggestion that he take part in violence, I mean, remember that time he, Taurtis, and Sam were tasked with killing Geode and Grian not only initially tried to refuse outright but then checked in shakily with the other two multiple times just to confirm if they were really going to kill someone. Grian's typically the character most likely in the entire series to be incredibly put off by and very hesitant about doing bad things (especially to people he's not one million percent certain deserve it).

And while one could argue that we can't really praise his moral compass for being hesitant about involving himself in crime/wrongdoing when he often ends up participating anyways. Actions speak louder than words and all. However I disagree. The fact that Grian vocally does not wish to be involved in this kind of thing and has proven to behave on the more reasonable and polite side when acting independently in relation to likewise level headed people....is Very important. In fact, in actual legal cases, oftentimes a factor in trying individuals is the question of whether they would commit the crime in question indepently or under normal circumstances. This is the basis for necessity, duress, and insanity pleas, amoung other's. People who would not act the way they did in a certain scenario under normal circumstances are often liable to be judged favourably in their actions. In fact, speaking of duress pleas, Grian's got a pretty solid one for a lot of his actions. The times Sam or Yuki held a knife to his throat or the times police threatened to kill him if he doesn't comply with orders or any alike incidents. In cases where duress isn't applicable to Grian's behaviour there are oftentimes incidents in which an outright case for violence in self defense can be made. In fact, most of Grian's circumstances leave him very viable to be judged sympathetically on a legal standpoint. The fact that he was a minor, the fact that he had no apparent history of violence or crime, the fact that he was in a severely abusive relationship with a criminal and entering said relationship marked the start of any sort of criminal behaviour from Grian, any criminal behaviour from Grian always being in a group setting never lead by himself, the fact that he always clearly and openly protests when pulled into these group settings, the duress and self defense pleas that are applicable to pretty much all incidents in which he does engage. Which are also all factors that can and should be accounted for on. a moral basis as well, obviously. And like, Grian has a reputation for being arrogant, cynical, and rude or whatever, but he's really not. He very rightfully calls out other people's horrible bullshit and makes snappy remarks towards his abuser but that's the opposite of a problem and Grian's proven himself more than capable of reasonable civility towards reasonable people. Grian just isn't the selfish arrogant disrespectful criminal that he's sometimes implied to be and in fact he's largely innocent- or absolvable, if you'd rather- in most of the things levied against him. Grian's not a literal saint giving to the needy and taking care of orphans in his spare time but he's a decent guy overall???

And hey, speaking of that super abusive relationship Grian landed in. Let's not forget the impact of that situation. Sam was undoubtedly abusive towards Grian. He threatened Grian's life various times, he basically told Grian he was nothing compared to Taurtis, he shoved plastic down Grian's throat and laughed when he choked, he got Grian locked up in solitary confinement through complete lies just because he thought it'd be entertaining I guess, he forced Grian to kiss an abnormally large amount of people against his will (some of these instances sam recorded despite being asked not to), he himself tried to make out with Grian without consent while Grian was sleeping in his own private room, he forcefully dressed Grian up in feminine cosplay meant to be ~attractive~ complete with fake breasts, he lied to Grian about the gender identity of someone Grian dated as a joke (his words) and lightly mocked Grian afterwards, he locked Grian in a basement for three days straight and it's unclear whether or not he was planning to let him out anytime soon, he dragged Grian into a closet with school staff despite Grian's very vocal distress and discomfort then scolded Grian for considering reported it when this staff member made uncomfortable comments on the outfit Sam had forced Grian into, Sam offered to give Grian to another guy who made a similar uncomfortable comment later on as part of some trade, he consistently dragged Grian against his will into criminal activity whether by threatening him, tricking him into participating, or just altogether falsely implicatng him, amoung Many other things. And every step of the way Sam did his best to completely gaslight Grian. He used every gaslighting technique in the book. Telling blatant lies (for example, "i would never stab taurtis", "you are taurtis", "grian's crazy and he stabbed taurtis"), he denies doing shit to Grian that Grian knows damn well he did ("i would never stab taurtis"). He hard projected his bs onto Grian (from blaming grian for 'making' sam do awful shit sam did to claiming grian actually fullstop did the awful shit sam did). He was just constantly trying to turn people against Grian (convincing yuki and taurtis to back him up in calling grian a bad manipulative friend and insisting he needed to apologize for 'making' sam horrifically abuse him. arriving in the police station and instantly without hesitation telling them grian was crazy and dangerous and pinning his own crimes on grian. having taurtis back him up and help scold grian for getting mad about being locked in the basement for days). Telling Grian he's crazy (taurtis incident again, solitary confinement incident, the time sam kissed grian without his consent while he slept and grian got mad). Telling everyone else that Grian's a manipulative liar (taurtis incident again, solitary confinement incident again). Yknow. Gaslighting. Sam was just so unbelievably abusive. In like. Every possible way. Which adds a LOT of trauma to Grian. That on top of his parents abandoning him as a little kid too because we couldn't leave it at severe abuse.

Grian's not a bad person. And he's certainly a very sympathetic person. Which is why it would be hard to woobify yhs Grian. It would be hard to make a very sympathetic very sad character egregiously sympathetic and sad. His whole arc is getting abandoned by his parents, going to visit his friends, and getting violently abused and forced into a multitude of disturbing activities against his will for an extended period of time.

One could argue that sure Grian isn't a bad person and sure Grian's got a pretty sad life, but certainly a lot of people are guilty of making Grian more helpless and scared and generally 'pathetic' than he is in canon.

To which I reply...not really?

Grian already doesn't have half the fight response people ascribe to him throughout the series. That was a whole other post but honestly Grian's response to traumatic situations is very frequently to cave to them and he's got a much stronger submissive streak than people often admit. I mean, Grian was asked to dress up as his best friend who just got stabbed "to make things less awkward and make me feel better" and he did it within ten seconds of being asked without the others even needing to threaten him at all. Grian does express quite a bit of despair, fear, and submissive tendency in canon when faced with dangerous or traumatic situations. And while it's possible to go a bit too far with that if you consistently leave out the token fight entirely, I see people swing way too far un the opposite direction way too often. There's a reason Grian never actually killed Sam in canon. There's a reason Grian never made a serious attempt to get him arrested for his crimes. There's a reason Grian never just left. When Sam found Grian after he ran out of the gym during the Taurtis incident? Grian didn't lunge for Sam. There was no serious altercation between the two. Grian scrambled back and tearfully babbled platitudes while shoving plastic down his own throat on command. And even beyond that, a lot of the interpretations accused of making Grian too helpless/scared/'pathetic' are works that involve Grian processing trauma years after the fact. Which. Even if Grian was the most aggressive on edge fighter in the history of trauma responses during the traumatic events? People don't process their trauma after the fact the same way they instinctively respond in the moment. Even if Grian never shed a tear throughout any of the traumatic ordeals he experienced, it would be far from unrealistic behaviour for him to still process after the fact by panicking and sobbing his eyes out regularly. Which, again, Grian wasn't even all that fight oriented while it was happening so panic and tears isn't even super far removed from his actual in the moment responses let alone processing after-responses. It's just. It's really hard to "UwU" Grian tbh. He's a decent person, he went through hell (his own words actually), and he was never even really very effectively aggressive when he did. And while it's possible to dip too far into that territory, far more often I see things swung egregiously far in the other direction.

A castle stood in the middle of frozen plains. Though the wind was cold and harsh, inside was warm and cozy. There was the sound of a few people running through the halls, none of them that old.

“Blood for the Blood God!” A young voice yelled as they tackled someone.

“Hey! Get off me!” A similar voice spoke.

“Come on Techno, you’re taller than me!”

“And you have wings! Get your own blood!”

A third voice spoke up as they ran by. “I’m gonna have the last of the juice!”

“No! That’s my blood!” The young avian jumped up from pinning his one brother down and ran after the other. “Wilburrrrrr!”

By the time Techno reached the kitchen, his brothers were fighting in front of the fridge. As they tustled, he opened the fridge up and pulled out some cherry juice and used the last of the bottle to fill his glass. “Sorry Blood God, my juice now.”

The two kids stopped fighting and the avian pouted. “That’s not fair!”

The three of them ended up arguing until someone new entered the kitchen. A man with raven wings and wearing a crown walked in holding a baby in his arms. “Boys…” he spoke in a tone that made the triplets immediately stop what they were doing.

“It’s Techno’s fault! He stole my blood!”

“Only because you were too busy fighting with Wilbur.”

“Only cause he tried to get the blood first.”

“You weren’t fast enough!”

“I’m super fast! I just didn’t want to use my wings and beat you and make you cry!”

“I wouldn’t cry!”

“Everyone says you would!”

The cheery tone from the arguing children seemed to disappear along with the cost warmth as a chill seemed to find its way into the castle. The king carefully passed the baby to Techno and then kneeled down. “Xelqua, are you hearing the voices again?”

“No.” Xelqua said, obviously lying, making the king sigh.

“You know you need to tell daddy when you start to hear them again.”

Xelqua crosses his arms. “Techno doesn’t always tell you when he hears them!”

“And I don’t like him doing that either.” The king sighed. “Will you promise to always tell me if I get you some more juice?”

“Blood for me!” Xelqua said happily, nodding in agreement.

“Yeah, blood for the Blood God!” Techno’s replied, handing the baby back to his dad.

They were only separated for a moment. Philza has his children holding onto his wings as they went through the market. He heard Xelqua cheer at seeing a stand of music discs. Before Phil could remind his son to stay with them, the child had let go of his wing. 

The king immediately moved to grabbed Xelqua, only to find him missing. He assumed he was just faster and lost in the crowd, but even going on a path to the music stand, his son was missing. 

He started searching in a wider area, some of the crowd started looking too. Philza started to worry about his son being kidnapped with him being a prince and all. He offered a reward, right there in the crowd for whoever found his son. He hoped it would work, but it didn’t.

Phil kept searching even when Wilbur started to complain he was tired and the baby in his arms started wailing. But his son didn’t reappear.

In a distant world, Xelqua put his foot down on the sidewalk, surprised to see it not cobblestone and also barely anyone in sight. “Daddy?” He looked around for his dad, but he wasn’t there. “D-daddy? D-dad?!” He looked around wildly, but still there was no sign of the king. “Dad! T-Techno! Wilbur!” He shouted for his family. But they weren’t there.

A woman spotted the lost Xelqua and took him to the police. When he described his family and home, the officers were left scratching their heads. They listed him as a found person, but no one ever came. 

After a month he was put in the foster system. Compared to his previous life as a prince, Being an orphan was the worst thing ever. He hated being bullied for everything. His wings, which he eventually learned to hide completely. The way he talked, which caused him to try and hide his accent. And his name. That wasn’t something he could easily change, but when he ran away and started a new life on his own, it was easier. And when Sam and Taurus asked for his name. It was Grian.

Part of Grian was glad when the universe went sideways and he couldn’t find Sam or Taurtis. He had done some things that most people would frown upon. But he had to do them. He needed the ransom money, he needed to help his friends escape, he needed to kill YakuzaKaru. And it hadn’t helped when the voices told him he was right.

But suddenly he was in a world that was much simpler and closer to how home had been. He was free to do whatever he pleased. He ended up moving towards an ocean and making a castle in the middle of it. It wasn’t the Antarctic Empire, but it was his empire. His Grian Empire.

And it was so much better here. If he exploded someone or robbed them or trapped them in a box, he wasn’t in danger of getting hurt or arrested. The worst that happened was the Watchers showing up. They liked using clay and Grian needed clay. So he stole every bit he could. Of course, the Watchers didn’t like that, so he was told to burn it or have his items trapped away or something else.

Grian thought it was unfair. What gave them the right to choose what he was doing was wrong? He didn’t see anyone else get in trouble. And the voices agreed with him, it wasn’t his fault.

And then he was taken away by the Watchers. While he was scared by that, the voices assured him it would be fine. The Watchers had just been testing him. And now they were giving him a chance to join. He would have said no, but then he thought about the family he lost. The Watchers were powerful. If he became one, he could find his family again.

He took the power. He became a Watcher. The voices became clearer and he felt complete. At least until he realized he couldn’t find his family, even with all the power being a Watcher gave him. He could see into a million worlds, but it had been years, and when he looked into the world that housed his home, all he saw was an old empty castle. There was no one left.

Grian ended up shutting away his Watcher side in anger. He finally had the chance to see his family and they were gone. And if those voices hadn’t told him to take the power and look, he wouldn’t have learned the truth. Grian preferred the idea that he could see his family again, or at least imagine the possibility, then know for sure that he was truly alone.

So Grian used his powers as a Watcher to hide the voices and the powers away. If he wanted to, he could pull them back, but why bother. He stayed with the Watchers for a while, gazing into the world he had just left before reaching for his powers just a little to look into other worlds. He then met someone who felt like his match. Everyone knew Redstoners and Builders fit perfectly together. And Grian was a builder while this man created redstone masterpieces. 

Grian watched as the man left into a server called Hermitcraft. He followed along and searched for the admin of the world. The admin seemed surprised to see Grian, but allowed him to join them, though not right away as they were going to be moving worlds soon. Grian agreed to wait, and wait he did. The moment the world was open, Grian took himself there. It was empty for a short bit, but then other people started showing up.

Grian followed the redstoner Mumbo around, glad to have a new friend. He didn’t understand half the things Mumbo talked about when it came to redstone, but it was still fun to listen to. It helped distract him from all that came before.

Once or twice, Grian had to use his powers from being a Watcher, and he had to explain to Xisuma what he was. The Voidwalker seemed to understand if be a little put off by how someone like Grian could actually be a Watcher.

When they moved to another world, Grian followed. It was peaceful for the longest time until Mumbo created Hermit Challenges. Well, it wasn’t right when he created them, but later down the line. He was just asked to wear blue. It shouldn’t have been that hard to do. But he always wore red. Blue wasn’t his color, it was his brother’s color. Grian tried arguing with Mumbo, asking him to allow the challenge to be skipped. He didn’t explain why he didn’t want to do it, so Mumbo said he had to.

Eventually, Grian wore blue. And then the mansion exploded. Everyone rushed to the ruined building and saw Grian in front of it, holding TNT. But Grian didn’t look like himself. He had tried to hide the memories away. It was just going to be for a day, but to hide the memories of his part life, he had to be a Watcher. And being a Watcher brought back his voices. And if he hated blue so much, why have a mansion that was all blue?

It took days for everyone to calm him down and get him back to normal. They panicked when he brought out his powers once more though it was just to repair what he had destroyed. Grian refused to meet Mumbo’s eyes for a while, so he went to his second closest friend Iskall to talk with. Despite Iskall’s insistence that he was not a therapist, he agreed to help Grian talk through what was going on in his mind. 

Between talks, Iskall spoke with Xisuma to relay what he had learned and soon all the Hermits were informed about what was going on with Grian. Of course Grian didn’t give out every detail like his life with Sam and Taurtis and the fact that he was a prince. All he said was he lost his family and ended up in a not so great crowd as a teen.

The next time Grian asked to opt out of something, people quickly obliged, both to not have the newest hermit hurting more, and also to make sure the server wasn’t destroyed by a Watcher going haywire.

It was months after the incident of the mansion exploding that Tommy appeared. No one knew where the kid had appeared from but it was obvious that sending him back couldn’t be an option. Mambo and Grian both took a liking to Tommy, Grian also being the newest Hermit and Mumbo being the youngest. Well, obviously now Tommy was both the youngest and newest, but it was the principle of the matter.

Though he was extremely wary of the pair at first, Tommy quickly warmed up to them, especially Grian. The two of them were so similar, people assumed they were siblings at one point. When someone pointed it out, then immediately regretted it because Grian got upset and started yelling at them. He flew off and Tommy followed behind, not knowing what was going on. 

Grian explained how he lost his family and how by the time he finally got home, they were all gone. Tommy told Grian about his own family, how they had slowly all gone a little crazy at the situation Dream had put them in. Slowly, the two of them bonded, just talking about the situation, joking around. Grian told some stories and Tommy replied with his own.

It was when Tommy pretended to be his oldest brother and said ‘blood for the blood god’ when Grian froze and became pale. Neither of them had used names for their family. At least, Tommy hadn’t used anything other than nicknames. Grian asked if the blood god was Xelqua. Tommy asked how Grian could possibly know that name.

When Grian learned Tommy was his brother, he pulled the teen into a crushing hug. He refused to let go for the longest time, terrified that just like last time, the moment he let go, they would end up in separate worlds. Tommy pretended to complain, but he was fine with Grian hugging him. He understood.

Grian made sure everyone was together when he used his Watcher powers again. Tommy had no clue what was going on and why everyone looked ready for war. The Hermits had promised they didn’t do that here, and it was worse that they all seemed ready to specifically fight Grian. Tommy nearly jumped between then, ready to fight every hermit for his brother, when Grian pulled out his Watcher powers. If Tommy had been scared of Dream, he was suddenly even more scared of his brother. 

The moments seemed to stretch out and the Hermits started moving towards Grian, ready to fight a Watcher, when he pushed it back down. Immediately Hermits were shedding armor and putting their elytra back on, glad that no fighting had to occur. Xisuma pulled Tommy aside to fully explain everything to the boy while Mumbo stayed with Grian as a shoulder to cry on. When Tommy returned, Grian once again held him close, this time seeming more worried about losing his brother. Though not in the sense that Tommy could disappear, but in the sense that Tommy could be like his brothers, losing themselves to madness. Just like Grian had nearly done.

While everyone argued, Grian used his Watcher powers more, gazing into the SMP that Tommy had come from. Though no one liked the methods, they were at least glad to get more insight into what had led Tommy to being the way he was. And because of it they were able to help him heal better.

One thing that became obvious was how the time within the world of Hermitcraft passed faster than in other worlds. It helped explain why it was so odd that Grian and Tommy, who once were only around five years apart were now closer to ten. Because of that, there was little worry of the SMP catching them by surprise and trying to find Tommy. Before the next MCC meeting, Tommy hit a growth spurt which made it harder for his old friends to recognize him even before he put on a slight disguise.

Back in Hermittown, Tommy slowly learned to be like his new family. Instead of stealing or hoping for handouts, he used the knowledge from the other Hermits to make farms and get plenty of resources. He didn’t mind spending hours in a mine as the mix of an efficiency five pickaxe and a haste two beacon made the stone break as if it were simply breaking grass. It was peaceful other than the occasional monster showing up and Grian looked proud of him every time so it always seemed worth it. Especially as he always ended up with plenty of diamonds.

When he first started building, the biggest thing Tommy made was a cobble tower up to the build limit, but after mining so much, filling his inventory with cobble, and having an amazing builder for a brother, Tommy built more. He created what looked like a tall wizard tower, which Grian begrudgingly was happy about, though Tommy saw the way Scar smiled smugly at Grian. For the most part the tower was just cobble, but here and there were stone bricks and mossy cobble, spruce and dark oak wood, and other stones to bring some color.

There were different floors and Tommy nearly gave Iskall a heart attack when the redstoner took a tour of the tower and walked in on the floor entirely made of diorite. One floor was filled with yellows and greens and housed a single bee which everyone was pretty sure somehow held part of Tubbo’s soul. It was messy, but at the top of the tower, Mumbo had helped Tommy create a cycling screen. Tommy made half of it the flag of L’Manburg and the other half the flag of the Antarctic Empire. Every few days he would flip a lever and the flag would change. Though certain parts of his past weren’t the greatest, Tommy was glad to have something to remind him of it, and Grian was glad to see the flag of his old family once again.

The last time Grian peeked into the SMP, he saw Dream getting so close to finding a way to Hermitcraft. He warned Xisuma who carefully told other Hermits to prepare, trying to not scare Tommy. Eventually the teen found out, which was probably for the best so when Dream did show up, he didn’t completely panic. Tommy tried to deny Dream could find a way in, and forgetting the time difference between the two worlds, Tommy slowly thought that he really wouldn’t show up.

But when Tubbo appeared and mentioned Dream would be coming, it became very real. Tommy prepared as did Grian. Grian flew to his brother to give him comfort before the battle started. Grian said he would do anything to make sure they couldn’t take Tommy. Tommy asked Grian to promise him not to use his Watcher powers.

Grian hesitated. He had been using the powers more and more. He’d slowly been getting used to them. Surely it would be fine for an emergency. But Tommy wouldn’t listen to Grian’s reasoning and reluctantly Grian promised not to use those powers.

He broke his promise.

Hi love! I Noticed a lot of people talking about and like clipping the little things that the lids were up to and stuff on stage at reading and obviously it was recorded so we can see it over in a lot more like detail but I thought I’d just like say afew things that I noticed at Leeds idk I feel like you might like to hear abt uno idk lol feel free to ignore me haha x So I was absolutely fucking steaming lmao it’s like dominos if you get drunk the wednesday which I did pretty much by accident you fight the hangover by getting more paralytic because you don’t want to waste the day dealing with it and that just basically lasts until it all comes crumbling Tuesday morning and you think you’ll have to take the work day off to take yourself off to a hospital anyway so I only really remember like bits but I got loads of decent videos from my bfs shoulders and a lot of us falling over haha.

So like I immediately noticed how lonely bondy was pretty much straight after longshot I hopped to get a good view of him from over people and yh he looked like a lonely little boy :( I’m not suggesting anything I just wanted to give him a big fat hug but I figured they were probably quite focused on not fucking up so I thought maybe he was just concentrated on his guitar n his little peddle thingys n stuff.

Idk what he’s going for with the outfits but I was not there for it idk if anyone got a good picture honestly you do you boo he obviously looks better then I ever will but I miss the fluffy hair n oversized tees :(

I also don’t see how ppl thought they were emotional or really any different at all van spoke quite abit I think in between each song again I was fucking steaming so I only have like blurry memories but he just seemed his regular happy self uno?

I didn’t see Bob or benji at all :( like I didn’t notice them much on the cameras either especially not Bob. I kinda feel like they all don’t really enjoy the bigger shows all that much like obviously playing Leeds headline Is a massive fucking humongous accomplishment and I’m so fucking proud of them but I dunno there’s just so much distance between the crowd and the artists and I feel like van wouldn’t have enjoyed that much at all. And also he didn’t really look at us once his eyes were shut or they were on his guitar or they were literally anywhere else idk he talked about playing introducing all those years ago but other then that there wasn’t really much recognition that there was even a crowd there haha which again means absolutely nothing they killed it as usual and ofc they’re distant they’ve obviously chosen the distance so I think they all seemed okay and I wish them all the best in the world they sounded great and ofc looked great and they’re all the sweetest babes and whatever they want in life I’m all for and is what I want in life and I hope they look after themselves most of all whatever that is if that’s distance from their fans of whatever I wish them the best and I can wholeheartedly say that I wouldn’t want all of it like that yet again I didn’t really choose it did I haha anyway love them all :) x (I went into work on the Tuesday Btw I acc GOT UP AT SIX AM and took myself off to a fucking warehouse where I at the ripe old age of 18 pack ppls fucking boots body lotion for a living lmao biggest achievement tha bigger then headlining r&l fucking throwing up and crying in my dusty ass worst toilet in Scotland esc work toilets)

Ahhh man yous are probably still a little bit pissed now, imagine getting hammered on the Wednesday, am impressed u survived and am mad impressed u actually made it into work there's no way id have made it into work man.

I actually really appreciated this little insight to what it was like there, I think from my own experience at festivals the band to fan interaction is quite often a bit of a let down /feels really distant and strange bc of how far a crowd are from the stage and stuff.

There's a part of me that thinks we're all super reading into it all too much? Like we're seeing them looking emotional or sad and lonely looking because we think there's something wrong. Like ur more likely to notice things like that when you're working on a theory that they fit. Idk.

That's so sad about Bondy though man, poor wee soul I wanna give him a hug.

I do wonder if it woulda been a massive shock to their system being back, or whether 2 years off has reminded them what normal life is and they think they might quite like normal life. Idk I think it must be kind of overwhelming playing a show that massive after nothing for two years, they haven't even done a warm up gig as far as I know? Like a lot of other bands usually do a small gig somewhere random before a big show like that and instead they've just gone straight in at the deep end. I reckon that would be a shock to the system.

Anyway I too hope they enjoyed themselves and hope they feel proud and like they have achieved something cause they really have done.

Idk I love them a lot and they're a class band and I hope they aren't struggling I really do.

UGHHHGHGH. I keep thinking of Hades angst and yo,,I remember a screenshot from Astraeus route and I think it had Hades holding his scythe (from his Reaper) to MCs neck or something?? OR MAYBE I LIKE,,IMAGINED THAT??? But like,,imagine if that happened...

MC doesn’t want to be Hera. She begs for anything else to happen to her. She’s lost, scared, in despair, and she needs a way out. And Hades knows this. Not just because she doesn’t want to die, but because like I headcannon, when a god takes over, you basically have to be in this abyss and watch what happens, ya know?? And honestly that IS terrifying, it makes sense for her to not want to be there. ESPECIALLY FOR ETERNITY?!?!?!? THAT WOULD BE HELL ITSELF!! AND SHE TELLS HADES THAT!!

So...she goes to him and begs him for a way out. And like...he has tried hard. He has taken the route in his own route (where he’s fought for her with everything) and it’s still not enough. They’re gonna make sure she becomes Hera, no questions, and they’re both scared. And MC has an idea and so does Hades, and neither of them like it. She basically asks him to kill her...And like my mind was like “NO!!!” And that screenshot came to mind (unless its fake and I hallucinated it-) and I was so sad because...in this AU he would. She’d beg and say how she’d rather die at his hands than the other Gods hands. Wants the last thing she sees to be her fiancée. Even if its a sad look, he’s still there. And that’s what she wants. She doesn’t want to be separated, to see him from afar, to see him suffer knowing he won’t hear her last words. 

Which would be “I love you.”

But she will not die at the hands of all the Gods. Part of MC thinks its to spite the Gods and say how they cant control her, another part is fear. And there’s a little part of hope in there, right in her chest, small but bright, hoping that she’ll find her way to him. She’ll be able to hold him again, see his purple eyes look at her with all the love in the world, and see everyone again. Well,,,everyone immortal. And she’s reminded of everyone. Hades sneaks Alex, May, Josh, the boys, and Aphrodite to see her. She tells them what she plans to do. Obviously, none of them like it. They hate it and suggest everything else, but MC can’t change her mind. She will not risk the chance of her keeping Heras power OR being stuck in an abyss forever. Just the mention of the idea makes everyone cringe because she’s right...that IS a hell. So...they spend one last night with her. They keep it quiet, watch a movie, talk, tell her what they all want to tell her. 

Especially ALEX!! ALEXXX!!! They’re scared to tell her. They know they will be denied and afraid to ruin everything at this last moment, but they need to tell her. So, they do. They tell her everything on their heart and she listens with surprised eyes. She was oblivious to this. She thinks its because she hasn’t been relaxed with them in a long time, so she never noticed, but now that it’s in front of her face...she realizes tHAT YEAH ALEX DOES LOVE HER AND HAS SHOWN IT BIJFBKF. And she smiles and “C” comes out of her mouth before she cuts herself off.

That’s who they have been to her all the time, and she smiles and pulls them into a hug. “Thank you, Alex. I love you too, I hope you know that Alex. Maybe not the same way, but you are my best friend, Alex. I love you, too.” She said Alex so many times, as if she was learning their name for the first time again. It makes them happy to hear it come from her lips again, and everyone loves the sweet moment. And Cerberus and his brothers give her hugs and Cerberus gets his aura out to cheer her up and keep things happy for a bit. Josh shares funny stories of cooking, his mishaps, and everything! Aphrodite tells her own stories, BASICALLY EVERYONE SHARES SOME WHOLESOME STORIES. EVEN MC!! SHARING HER FEELINGS OF EVERYONE AND HOW SHE LOVES THEMMM ALL!!!

 And when everything is said and done, its about 6 am, and the Gods are coming for her. They’re coming to take her to the throne room, but no.

They won’t get her.

They can’t.

Everyone leaves them alone, but they all give her a kiss on the cheek or forehead and a TIGHT hug because they will miss her. THEY WILL!! And May and Josh basically threaten that she better know that. She knows that and promises that she’ll be watching them from the afterlife and it makes them all cry harder, but they leave and its just Hades and MC. However, to be NSFW real quick, they ‘get together’ before it happens bc honestly,,,idk thats just where my mind went lol. AND THEN,, THE TIME HAS COME,, HE HAS TO KILL HER BECAUSE HE PROMISED HER!! He calls upon his Aura and MC notices the sad look on the Reaper and she gives them both one last smile. The Scythe is at her neck and Hades’ tears streak down his face as she closes her eyes and takes her final breath. He was holding her hand and the grip was tight, and it went limp (Idk what he’d do necessarily?? Just uses the scythe to take her soul). She was falling to the ground but he caught her instantly and held her to him as he cried on the floor. What would he tell the Gods? What would he do? What will he do without her? He has his friends and everyone to back up that she wanted this...but still. 

What will he do without her? Who will be the light to his shadows? 

Zeus and Poseidon come through his door (not even knocking), and they call out for Hades, but they speed up when they hear Hades sobs. They come to the main room (idk I assume the door is a littles away from the main room like the living room) and they see Hades clutching MCs body to him. There’s no blood, no struggle, nothing. Just him holding the love of HIS LIFE in his arms, knowing he just ended the life of someone he loves once again...

Zeus and Poseidon just stand there for a second. Hades refuses to look them in the eye, cant look at them, and just looks at his lover...the one he loves so much...But he can’t avoid it forever. He looks up at his brothers and Zeus is furious and Poseidon is sad. Zeus is so close to attacking him, but Poseidon grabs his arm with a TIGHT grip. Poseidon isn’t even looking at anyone, just at the ground. “Hades...what happened?” His voice isn’t angry, it’s just sad, and worried. Zeus still can’t say a word. Hades looks back up at them. 

“She...she wanted it to end.” His voice was shaky and tears still streamed down his face. “She told me...she wanted it to be me. For me to end it. Not you.” He growled the ‘you’ out. “She didn’t want to be trapped in an abyss for eternity. And it makes sense. None of us want to be trapped...”. He stops there, he can’t continue. He looks back down at her and hugs her body closer to him. 

“The Reaper has taken yet another soul...” he whispers out, and his brothers hear him. This time, even Zeus is sad. He’s never seen his older brother like this (yh I found out Hades is the OLDEST FIREJBFD). This emotional and this heart broken. Or maybe he has and he just never payed attention. That makes him realize his actions and everything he’s done. Its shameful and he stares at MC as well, feeling his heart drop. And its not just because of Hera...its because she was going to be his sister-in-law (I think that’s what they are??? IDK MEG-) and that is an innocent woman. He doesn’t know how to face this (not even my Zeus knows how to face his emotions-), so he just walks to Hades and goes to sit beside him. Hades flinches away from him and his hold tightens on her for a moment, and both brothers understand why he does that. But they just sit beside him, in silence. “She asked you?”

“Yes. I would not take her life for no reason...I would NEVER even dream of it”. Poseidon hears the bite in his voice and the way its darker from his power, the power he tries to hide and not flaunt around like everyone. He just nods and it goes silent. “But at least...it wasn’t painful...”. Hades whispers it out. He knew the ritual would be painful, he knows it is. Not from experience but the ritual takes the soul apart...it’s going to hurt. He wouldn’t wish that pain on her. He would give his life, but the Gods wouldn’t accept it. Hell, he’s lucky they let him have her for one more night. The tears have stopped because they can’t continue. They always rise to the surface, but won’t drop. “I lost her...she’s gone...it’s all our faults...”. Hades made sure they all knew it was their faults. Not them but the Gods in general. They’re desperation for a Goddess who didn’t want to come back, who BEGGED to not come back, led to the death of an innocent woman. Led to a woman wanting to die. And I imagined Hades finally telling Zeus the whole truth like...it’s an emotional moment, and he feels like he should tell him.

“Zeus,” he says, his voice back to normal since he’s reigned his power back in, “Hera wanted to die. She asked me to take her, so I did. But she made me promise her to not let her come back. Never. Or maybe until she was ready, I’m not sure exactly. And when I found [MCs mothers name]...”. His breath catches at the mention of MCs mother who was also taken to early, a woman he loves as well, who was killed by the Gods. Direct or not didn’t matter. “She was Hera’s reincarnation and I...I was a little afraid. I made H.E.R.A with her and Aphrodite and I planned to tell her of her power that she held. But...I realized that I cared for her. Not in a romantic way, but she was a sister to me, I cared for her dearly, yet she was taken away from us because of US!” His voice was louder, and his eyes were shut still facing MCs body. Poseidon and Zeus flinch at his voice, not used to Hades being this angry even if they understand why he’s angry. “And I had to hold her in my arms when she died...and it moved to MC...and I fell for her, and I’ve done everything I can. But none of you wanted to think of her. Think of a woman who has done SO MUCH for us, a woman who has already suffered because. OF. US!” 

When he mentioned that she had done so much for them, they were reminded of his s1 when basically everyone disappeared and was taken, yet MC was such a big factor into helping them...and they forgot that. They shouldn’t have, but they did. And it hurt them all. 

AND AWAY FROM HADES TELLING ZEUS AND POSEIDON HIS STORY, they have a funeral on Earth. Even Hades will not bury her on Olympus. A part of him wants to since her mother is buried there, but he remembers Josh, May, and Alex. None of them will come to Olympus anymore, he knows it, and he won’t torture them by forcing them to come to Olympus to see her. And its all emotional. And,,,Hades tells everyone (as in her close family,,including May bc she IS family AND THE BOYS!!) that he’s sorry, but they know he did his best. Aphrodite witnessed it, and so did everyone else. And for the few years...it’s all silent. Hades attends meetings and does his work because he knows MC wants him to. MC wants him to keep living, being kind, helping people, and being Hades. But she asked him to promise her something...promise to never love another. And it was promised with NO hesitation. He loves her and no one else and he’s lucky to have had the chance to love her

ESPECIALLY AFTER KNOWING ALEX LOVES HER!! THEY’VE KNOWN HER LONGER AND HONESTLY HADES IS A LITTLE SURPRISED SHE DIDNT END UP WITH ALEX IFBHKRJEBWB. But like I said, everything is silent, emotionless. Everyone smiles from time to time, but it’s mainly quiet. Well, some of the Gods don’t care, and he honestly gets PISSED when he sees that, but he just goes back to his estate or his condo. Probably his condo since he has more memories of her there. She was never one for Olympus. It was beautiful to her, but it made her anxious, so the condo (and her apartment) was her safe place. And he goes to the fridge the day of her funeral and guess what he sees??? GUESS WHAT HE SEES??? He sees MCs baked goods. He takes them out and eats them and tastes how sweet and full of love they are. He KNOWS it will be a long time before he can taste this type of sweetness again, but he’ll happily wait 1,000 years if that’s what it took for her to come back to him. And he’ll keep his promise. 

He will find his light again. He will. And maybe his light will find him. Light needs darkness after all....

UGH MEGGG!!! IM SAD!!! BUT I LOVE IT!!! LITERALLY STILL SOBBING AT THIS IDEA 😭. I JUST!!! LOVE HADES SO MUCH!!! AND HIM BEING EMOTIONAL AND STILL BE SO HARD AT UNDERSTANDING EMOTIONS IS SO AMAZING!!!! I love him and hNNNG IM SO SAD. I hope you like this and sorry its so long...

Does anyone else have irrational fears?

Mine is spiders and insects and stuff

Like the big ones are beetle and spiders

I can’t stand them

If I see one I panic, my heart feels as though it’s about to explode and my hands shake for the next like three hours even if the things gone.

But I’ve always been like that. And you’d think by now my family would stop laughing. I say all of them, my dad doesn’t care that much. He’ll just kill it if he knows about it and move on. Which I guess is good?

Now I’m not saying I don’t get it. None of them have the fear so they done understand and I’ve never been able to express it without just ending in ‘I just hate and I just can’t.’

But like I’m pretty good at hiding it at school. Only those close to me would know. Whenever there’s a spider and the freak outs start I usually just stay silent and try to ignore everything till it’s over. I can talk about them but if I’m on my own I freak. I have coutless stories where I’ve ran out of the room cuz I’ve seen one and then I’ve had to stand there and calm myself before I ask someone to kill it for me. It always ends up with them saying ‘it’s just a spider.’

Like yeah I know, but doesn’t mean I ducking want to see it.

My most resent terrors are beetles, that has definitely gotten worse.

I had one like months ago just appear at night. I could hear it scurrying around and I tried to kill it. I thought, it’s 2am, I can manage this. I got my boot and stamped on it. Left the room to get tissue whilst also calm myself and came back and it was fine. Now @fang1rling-again can attest to the amount of panic I had that night. It was the fucking worst and it still rattle me. But both my brother and mom laughed.

In the end they both apologized and stopped. That night. In the morning that made some small jokes. My brother imitated the sound and I felt sick. But obviously just laughed along with them.

Like a few days (maybe even 1) there was another on my wall. (I have no idea why there are so many but I hate it.) it was on my art works and I panicked so much. Cuz like, I can’t squish it on the wall cuz then I need to get rid of my artwork (of feyre) but I’m really proud of it, that’s why it on the wall. So I sort of leave and pace for a little knowing full well the ridicule will follow. My mom comes upstairs and funds out. She’s kinda pissed she had to kill yet another one but does it anyway. (The drawing was fine, the creature moved off it whilst I was pacing. )

Again couple days later there’s another one. Right next to my bed. When I say that I mean next to it. I have a sofa bed which is low to the ground and next to a wall. So where I sleep it was on the wall to my left. Once again the panic was there. Once again my mom has to kill it. Once again she laughed, and said it’s only a beetle. Even tried to move the tissue that it was dead it towards me. That day I just wasn’t in the mood for it and just died inside slowly.

Now next is a spider story. Which is actually funny (ish) (only because like the day before something actually scary happened outside my house that we had to call the police for and I wasn’t scared at all) but anyway I was outside next to my front door, I finished watched a polandbananabooks video and was about to write more judeXcardan. But I look up and there’s a spider. So my mom has to kill it. But she misses and it dissapears. Cuz of my fear I stop using the laptop till the next day. However whilst in the living room my mom tells my dad who sighs and goes to try and find it. It wasn’t there. So eh left it. I haven’t seen it since and I sort of hate sitting there even tho it’s like my fav space cuz it’s just me and the laptop, with YouTube or writing it tumblr.

Finally cut to tonight. For the past week I kept hearing the sounds out a beetle and I just thought I was paranoid so I ignored it. But tonight I was fed up so I tried to look for it. Turns out it was in a can in my bin. I panicked, cuz obv. But also it’s in a energy drink can which is not allowed to have but do. So my options are wait till I take the rubbish out, make the thing fall out and kill it. Or move it outside my room in a box and wait till I can take my rubbish outside. That way it’s not in my room and I can finally go to sleep without hearing it and making my head explode. So that’s what I did. My brother actually suggested it cuz I let him know I was freaking out. He was actually good, didn’t laugh, didn’t mock. I think he finally gets that it’s an irrational fear that isn’t going away, that drains me and genially messes with me. I try and keep it hidden bc it’s so stupid and I hate it so much. But here I am, writing this to see if it helps just trying to explain it slightly, crying ever so slightly whilst listing to Hamilton to cheer me up. It’s so weird, cuz I don’t consider myself to be easily afraid. But my entire life I have always been afraid of creatures. I have countless, COUNTLESS, stories of times I’ve seen one and ran. My paranoid brain still thinks I can hear it.... wait. Idk if it is actually in the can outside my room or if it got out whilst I left to talk to my brother. I hate this

Apparently this isn’t a reminder about fears it explain as it happens. But idk if it actually is. Imma check the can..

My mom came upstairs and now knows. She seemed annoyed I didn’t tell her but hasn’t really done anything. She belives it’s in the can and told me to go to bed. So the can is still there (she allows me to drink energy drinks my dad doesn’t, so that’s why it still has to be there till I can take my rubbish out) (it’s a whole thing that kinda sounds stupid but yh)

So it’s there, maybe. I think my brain was messing with me when I thought I heard it. Idk. But my mom didn’t laugh at me this time. Which helps. However she did keep asking about the thing like I dared to peer into the can and look at it properly to know everything about it. Even tho in reality she knows I barley touched the can as I moved it

Anywayyyy, rant over? Is this a rant? A reminicence Of fears or a walk me through experience of it. Either way I think it helped me slightly. I’m not shaking any more, and now I can hopefully start sleeping without hearing it and my brain messing up.

Present Mic was called to the scene after being contacted by Eraserhead’s agency that a incident had accord; Upon answering the call, the Voice Hero was worried something bad had happened and his fiancé had been taken to the hospital, only to be told that the other man was reacting to one of the thug’s quirks and was now in a panicked-like state.

Eraserhead wouldn’t allow anyone near him, they explained that the purp’s quirk induces anxiety in the target and causes them to grow paranoid.

Mic enters the room, looking around the scene for the other man and is greeted by one of the officers, telling him that Eraserhead had locked himself up in one of the backrooms of the store and wouldn’t let anyone in to try and talk him down.

“How long does the quirk last for?” Mic asks, glancing over to the scene, a lot of the shelves have been knocked over durning the fight but it looks like no one was seriously hurt durning the altercation, which was relieving to see.

“Not really sure, the man isn’t talking.”

“Did Eraser try to erase his quirk?” He asks, walking with the officer towards the back as he shoves his hands into his pockets.

“Not that I know of, he was pretty out of it.” The Officer tells him, rubbing the back of his neck. “Just kept pulling at his own hair in a panic and calling out for someone named Hizashi; That would be you, corrected?”

“Yes,m; That’s why you called me, right?”

“Yes sir, we figured if he saw you, he would calm down.” They stop in front of a door and the officer nods towards it. “Otherwise we’ll have to restrain him, he’s already lashed out at two other officers.”

“Don’t worry, I can handle him.” Mic chuckles, opening the door and peers inside, seeing the other man sitting in the far corner with his head between his knees. He slips inside and closes the door behind him, waiting for his fiancé to react to his presence.

He could tell the other man is shaking from where he’s standing and slowly approaches the anxious man, pausing only when the man jerks his head up and glares at him with red glowing eyes.

“Shouta...hey, it’s just me.” Mic holds his hands up defensively, offering a reassuring smile. “Are you doing okay? I mean, of course you’re not, you’re suffering from the effect of some punk’s quirk but are you...okay with me being here?”

“Hizashi...I don’t want to be here.” The underground hero mutters, shaking as he spoke and hugs himself tighter. “I-I can’t be here, it’s not safe.”

“Then let’s go home, baby.” Mic says, slowly approaching him and watches him shakes his head quickly.

“Too many people out there, I want any of them near me-“ He takes a deep breath and scoots back when Mic comes to closer. “I’m afraid I’ll hurt them, I can’t really control myself right now.”

“Come on, Sho.” Mic smiles, kneeling down to look at him. “You’re not going to hurt anyone, just come out with me and we’ll have you looked at-“

“No!” The man snaps, having a look of regret the moment he shouted at him. “N-no, I can’t...I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to...”

“You’re fine, just breath for me, okay?” Mic tells him, wanting to comfort him and make him feel better; Obviously this quirk is very dangerously, could possibly caused a large panic is he had used it on a crowded area. “Can I come closer?”

Eraserhead meets his eyes, biting his bottom lip before giving a little nod so Mic shuffled closer on his knees and reaches out for him to take his hand.

“I’m not going to hurt you, you know I would never want to hurt you, Sho.” Mic tells him, wanting him to take his hand and slowly, Eraserhead reaches out to take his hand. He rubs his thumb against his knuckles with a soft smile and kisses his hand before scooting closer to reach up to press his hand against his cheek. Eraserhead lets out a sigh when he touches him and leans his head against his touch but he still trembled where he sat. “There we go. See? You’re perfectly safe, Shouta; Nobody here’s going to hurt you, I wouldn’t let them.”

“They’ve already been taken care of; Right now, we’re just worried about you.”

“I made a absolute fool of myself, Zashi.” He buries his hands into his hair and hides his face against his knees. “I can’t go out there if the media is out there.”

“Just ignore those leeches, baby; You’re going to be fine.” Mic tells him, rubbing his knee to try and get the other hero to relax. “You did nothing wrong, even locked yourself up into a empty room to avoid hurting anyone; You did a good job, Sho.”

“I attacked two officers.”

“You were effected by a anxiety inducing quirk, it’s understandable-“

“Hizashi, I cowered in a backroom of a convenient store because I thought the officers were trying to kill me.” Eraserhead points out with a bitter look on his face, letting out a shuttering breath. “That’s not heroic of me, I wouldn’t be surprised if they put me in the back of a police vehicle along with the thugs I was just fighting.”

“Shouta, that’s not going to happen; You’re perfectly okay, we’re just worried about you.” Mic chuckles, sitting down in front of him and takes his hands from him to hold in his; Knowing it’s just the quirk that’s making him think like this. “So let’s get out of here and go home, I can make diner while you sit on the couch and love on the cat.”

“I can’t...I-I...” Eraserhead trails off and looks at the door, looking defeated as his fiancé gives his hands a gentle squeeze.

“No one is going to hurt you, baby; you can trust me.” Mic kisses each hand again and looks him in the eyes.

“I don’t understand how you can put up with someone like me, Zashi; I really don’t.”

“What do you mean? I love you, you dope.” Mic chuckles, giving his fiancé a look.

“I’m just not someone you’d expect to be with someone like you, I’m grumpy, worthless and-“

“Hey, hey now; That’s my fiancé you’re talking about!” Mic interrupts him. “Don’t talk like that, you’re not worthless and you know I’m pretty scary when I haven’t had my morning coffee yet.”

“I can’t even handle myself durning a villain attack, I’m pathetic; I should have been able to prevent this from happening.” Eraserhead mutters, leaning his head against the wall. “And not hide myself away in some room because of a lousy quirk, you deserve someone better than me.”

“Shouta...baby, look at me.” Mic gets him to look at him again and rubs his thumb against his cheek. “I love you, so much. If only you could see yourself the way I see you, because, holy shit, you’d realise how much I’ve fallen for you. You’re amazing to me, so strong and brave; I’m so lucky to have you.”

“I love you too.” The underground hero says as a small smile forms on his face and shifts so he’s on his knees to pull the blonde into a tight hug. “Thank you, Zashi; I’m so glad that you’re here with me.”

“So do you think you can follow me out to get you to a hospital?” Mic asks, petting his fiancé’s hair.

“I think so...I think the quirk is starting to wear off.” He says as Mic stands up and helps him to his feet as well. “Just...stay close, okay?”

“They’re aware of the state you’re in, I’ll just remind them to keep their distance until it completely wears off.” Mic wraps a protective arm around his shoulders and walks over to the door. “I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”

The tale of flass: this is a story I improvised on the spot when my friend asked me to tell her a story to cheer her up. I'm quite proud of it.

OK, so there's a frog.

And it's just hangin out, doing its thing, as frogs do.

And he decides "yo"

"yo i want to be higher up than I am currently able to access with my mainly aquatic body."

So what he does is he goes and talks to a duck, because he knows that ducks can fly.

And he goes up to a particularly glossy mallard and he's like

"ay bro, can you carry me up to the treetops?"

And the mallard(by the name of craigory) be like

"bruh sorry but idk if I can like carry you that high up I ain't no BOFP, man"

And our boi the frog (by the name of flass)

Be like

"ay bruh what's a BOFP"

And craigory, the sassy cunt that he is, looks him in the eye and says, I shit you not here, he straight up looks our boi flass right in the eye and he says

(Are you ready to hear what this sassy dick waffle says to our boi flass?)

This bitch no cap be like straight up

"bird of fuckin prey"

And see now flass, the tru gangsta that he is takes it on the head cus he ain't finna let this bitch be openly disrespectin him.

So flass says to craigory

"can you tell me where I can find a bird of fuckin prey then so that I can ask them to take me up to the treetops?"

Now craigory (WHAT a cunt this man is) looks at flass, this little frog in front of him and has the unmitigated fucking audacity to say to our boi flass

If a bird of fuckin prey sees you then it will surely eat you instantly. I caution you, sir, do not throw away your life"

And flass, the Absolute Don that he is, turns away from this lil bitch craigory and says "then I will die in the pursuit of fulfillment." and if that ain't the heaviest shit you've ever heard then bruh idek what to say to u, the dudes soul is dressed like an 80s action hero.

So flass hops away in slowmo and eats a fly midair just to flex.

And he hops away to find a lil sparrow. And the sparrow is just vibin and gettin straight blazed and flass hops up, takes a deep sniff and nods in approval for the kush was good and therefore the sparrow was surely a woman of taste and culture. And a sparrow of such taste and culture must surely be a sparrow of some great education.

Now our man Flass hops up to this sparrow and he says

"ay bruh, how's it hangin"

And the sparrow looks at her bead curtain and says "yeah bruh it's hangin good. I only put it up last week and it's already weathering rly nicely" and flass saw that it was so and he nodded in agreement.

Now flass sits his fine froggy ass down in front of this sparrow and he says

"bruh I wanna get up to the treetops bc I feel unfulfilled being confined to ground level. I asked that cunty dick weed craigory to take me up there but the pussy said he couldn't carry me and I'd need like a bird of fuckin prey so I thought of you. Your a bird of fuckin prey right? We eat the same things too so I thought you might be an absolute bro and carry me up to the treetop sometime"

Now this sparrow looks at flass and she sees that he rly means all he's saying and then she looks at herself, about the same size as him and she says to him "bruh sorry but im literally too small to carry your fine ass anywhere. You'd need something bigger than me like a crow"

Yh nah she ain't gonna be able to carry him up there. But what she does is she looks him in the eye and she says

"OK so like I know where you can find a crow who could take you up there but I'm pretty sure he's not gonna do it for free"

And Flass says to this sparrow (by the name of velvet)

"bro if I can pay I will. This is all I need to die happy"

So velvet looks at flass and she sees how his soul is dressed with the leather jacket and the stubble and guns and big sunglasses and she thinks woah this dude is a straight up 80s movie badass ain't nothing gonna change his mind so she says "bro just hang out with me till I'm sober then ill take you to the crow."

And flass says

"nah bruh I gotta get going. Gotta see them treetops"

And velvet says

"bro I have Mario kart"

And flass says

"bro I'm in"

So flass hangs out and chills with velvet and they smoke and play Mariokart and then he sleeps over. Then in the morning when they're both sober again velvets like

"OK bruh lets get you to that crow so we can talk to him"

So velvet takes flass to the recent corpse of a dead buffalo, where there's a crow scoffing down some meat and the crow looks around and sees them and clacks its beak menacingly.

Now both flass and velvet know that this crow with this clackety beak of his could easily kill both of them.

It is a truth of which they are both acutely aware.

So now this crow(by the name of glowstick) looks at these two lil Bois and thinks yo these 2 got something to say. So he says

"yo you 2 got something to say?"

So velvet gives flass a nudge to go talk to this dude so flass hops real cool up to velvet and he says

"OK bro so here's the deaio. Here's the sich. Here's the case file. The writing on the wall. The drink in the cup. The tea. I feel rly unfulfilled at fuckin ground lvl bc I can't get up these fuckin trees. So I went to that cunt graigory who sent me to this glorious bitch velvet who got me high then hung out with me till we were sober and then brought me here so I could talk to you so like could you just fly me up above them there treetops real quick? If I do then Im pretty sure i can die happy"

Right so glowstick looks this absolute Chad up and down and thinks for a moment and says

"OK so ill be willing to fly you up there and carry you around for a bit but it'll cost ya"

And flass takes a step forward, looks glowstick in the eye and says "whatever your price is bro I'll pay it"

Now seeing that flass isn't gonna be shaken easily he sits down on the carcass, fixes this fine-ass froggy fella with one eye, clacks his beak a couple more times and leans forward:

"I'll take you up there and I'll fly you around for a while until sundown. But once night falls I get to eat you"

Now flass obviously isn't too keen on this deal but the way he sees it it's the best deal he's gonna get cus he really needs to get up there into the sky. So he hops back over to velvet and hugs her.

"bro you've been a good friend so far. You wanna come hang out until sunset?"

So velvet hugs him back bc this is her bro and he's gonna go live his dream until he dies so she's like

"yeah bro ill come hang out till sunset but I'm not gonna stick around to watch you get eaten ok?"

And flass is like

"cool, I'm good with that"

So now he hops back over to glowstick who's taking this completely serious. He's gonna hold up his end of the bargain and he's gonna earn that muthafuckin meal. So he holds oup his claws and grabs flass and spreads his wings

And takes flight.

Now remember, flass is fully used to jumping high and far but the experience of going up and staying up is completely new to him. Glowstick claws are carefully but firmly holding him so that he doesn't slip or fall and get hurt. He sees the tops of the trees and the blue sky with the sun overhead and he spreads his arms like wings and laughs, pretending he himself is flying.

As the day wears on the joy doesn't lessen until the sun dips to the horizon. Glowstick takes flass to the top of a tree to watch the sunset and velvet lands next to them and they all huddle together in the final moments of daylight.

When the sun is gone velvet turns to flass and bumps his head, tenderly, with hers. He, of course returns the gesture to the truest friend he's known in his short life before she turns and flits away.

Now flass turns to glowstick and says

"bro. Thank you for bringing me up here. I was right, having experienced the freedom and joy of living my dream and flying I can say truthfully that dying now wont be so bad. I've just got one last request bro. Make it quick. I wanna go out on a high note."

Glowstick nods his head at this brave lil frog and says

"lil bruh you've earned my respect with your courage. I'm still gonna eat you because that's nature and also the terms of our deal but I will give you the death you want.

And I will tell your story to everyone I meet who needs to hear it,and I will tell them to pass it on so that, even after you die here, your legacy and your 80s action hero soul will live on forever."

So flass stands proud and strong and closes his eyes and remembers how it felt to fly, to rush through the air and to go up and stay up. He remembers the feeling of watching a sunset with his best friend. He remembers all this and more and he finds that he is smiling. He settles into this warm bliss and breathes in.

In the days, months, weeks and years that follow this day the tale of flass and his courage and dedication to fulfillment even in the face of his death spread through the forest to the rivers, the plains, the seas and all the way to other, much different forests across those seas. Faithfully told by velvet and glowstick and embellished from there with each telling until those who told it and heard it almost felt that warm bliss, that feeling of unbridled joy at finding your dream has become reality. They could swear they see, in the corner of their eye if they have one, a faint smile. Like one you might find on the face of a particularly happy frog who had just watched his first and last sunset with his best friend and the crow who had made this possible. And his legacy inspires hundreds of thousands of creatures to follow their dreams however small.

Somewhere, thanks to the story of flass, a primate is tending to a small piece of burning wood, Feeding it dry leaves and twigs to keep it alight, in hopes of warming a cave so that it and its family may not just survive, but be comfortable through the next winter and many after.

the little dude brought a wave of joy across the world. He triggered the discovery of fire. He taught glowstick about nobility in the face of death. He lives on in the stories told of him and the dreams realised in his memory.

As long as there is someone or something pursuing a dream then flass will never be dead.

Freddie Revisits - Avatar: The Last Airbender

Book 1, Episodes 1 & 2

Okay, so first things first, the way the intro to the first episode gives just the right amount of exposition is amazing. Then, we cut to Sokka and Katara having some brother and sister shenanigans and it's all fun, until, ofc, Sokka pulls the "girls stay at home" shit. Right off the bat, Katara blows the fuck up (you go Queen! Tell 'em) and calls him sexist, right front and center. And the fact that that exact scene tells us that benders' powers become stronger and out of control with emotions, in this case, anger. And it's just so perfect, and not forced, it's amazing. Anyways the whole thing with Aang's introduction is really funny, and it serves to show that he's just a 12yo, and like, you can tell that he likes being a carefree 12 yo, by him saying he didn't know the Avatar, and in the end of ep2 admitting to not wanting to be the Avatar. But yh, the whole thing with his introduction to the village and him flying is great, and Sokka being all weird with Aang calling his staff a weapon when it didn't have a blade, we can see that Sokka is a naïve boy trying to be though, because obviously a weapon doesn't need to be sharp to hurt you. Anyways the whole rest of the episode is just bonding time, a flashback of Aang saving himself and Appa and comedy, and yeah, im gonna skip over a bit.

So, the whole thing in the abandoned Fire Navy ship was cool, and the fact that Aang talks about having friends everywhere is foreshadowing for Boomie (I think that was his name, yk, the crazy Earthbender), who we won't until a little bit later in the show. Anyways, the whole thing with Zuko training tells us a lot about them. One, we can tell that Iroh is full of wisdom, and that he understands the way Firebending works, which is something uncommon, since not every Bender can explain how it feels, at least that's what I remember. We also have a hint at Zuko's backstory, when he says that his Honor is on the line when he talks about capturing the Avatar. And honestly (and I'm skipping a little further here), when Aang replies to Zuko's "you're actually just a kid" with "and you're just a teenager" is like, so true, and immediately we get a parallel between the two: 2 boys that have responsibilities that aren't fit for their age, I mean, Zuko's father, grandfather and great-grandfather tried to find Aang, and they couldn't, and Ozai should know Aang would be very powerful (if he hadn't been frozen), which Zuko himself says ("he's had a 100 years to master all the elements"), so from that alone we can tell Zuko doesn't have the best parents. And Aang has the biggest responsibility in the world, which we know thanks to the intro. Also, Zuko is the first in the series to tell us anything about the Air Nomad's culture, which is something I thought I'd point out. Anyways, Aang and Zuko's lackluster "battle" showed us just how innocent and kind Aang is, and how Zuko isn't cruel. How? By the fact that Aang never attacks Zuko and turns himself in the moment he sees that the Water Tribe might get hurt. And the fact that Zuko doesn't hesitate to spare them too, immediately taking Aang's offer. Then we got another scene I'd like to talk about: Aang running to get his staff. Like, he's 12yo but he's smart. He knows that there are VERY few people alive who Mya have dealt with Airbenders, so chances are he'll have the element of surprise over the soldiers, and he does, which is how he escapes. Then we have the first time we see Aang use the Avatar Mode in the present. And it's amazing, bc he's still not killing anyone, and only getting them away, so he can grab his staff and run. Then we have Zuko getting his sweet, sweet revenge on Zuko by poking his head until he falls into the water. Then Katara adapting herself so she can freeze the soldiers, which is very smart of her, and she thought of it on the spot. Then we get the revelation that Aang didn't want to be the Avatar, which we'll understand later when we find out how the monks raised him, which will contrast with his playful nature.

Alright, so that's it for now, I'm going to bed, and I'll update whenever I watch ep3

have you seen Runaways on Hulu yet? I've heard great things about it

I watched a couple of episodes and uhhhh I wasn;t impressed at all

I think because I adore the comic books I find it hard to understand the changes they made, especially in how it kind of tears out a large part of the point of the comics by having them be at least for a while….not runaways…

like the starting point is a lot of rich teenagers who are quite suddenly confronted with the evil of their parents and abandon their advantages to live on the streets in order not to be a part of it, it’s tragic and a lot about kids learning to survive together and having them for the first part of the show continue to live in luxury and carry on with their normal lives is bizarre

also I hate hate hate the changes to Chase, like he is viciously abused by his father for not being ‘smart’ and this is especially tied up with the eugenical ideology of the parents and the idea that they have to have the ‘perfect’ children and chase did not fit that, again a lot of his character is that he’s a lot rougher than the others and knows more about how to survive because hes kinda had to, but the show decided he wasn;t interesting enough and made him really smart in the show lmfao like hmmmmmm maybe this abused kid should be more like how his abusive father wants him to be!!! fuck off!

And then having some fucking weird love triangle with gert, chase and karolina was wack and how warped the whole chase/gert romance was rly upset me, in fact they gutted a lot of gert’s character and as far as I got didn;t have a single mention of her socialism lmao they just have her be like…a libfem who is actually just ealous she cant this jockboy ooooh how exciting bleurch

Also changing Nico’s powers I think takes away a large part of her character too, like the whole idea of her staff is she has to say a spell using any word but she can only say it once, so she constantly has to be aware of what she says, when she uses spells and is terrified of running out, fear of not being good enough of not having enough is a large part of Nico’s character, she is intensely insecure, and having such an uncertain and finite power is a fantastic mechanic to show that but instead its like yh she thinks it it happens cool????

and having Karolina be some kind of pseudoscientologist was weird and again I couldn;t work out why, especially in how her lesbianism is treated as some sort of rebellion thing against her upbringing which uhhhhhhhhh yikes

I will say I liked the Nico and Alex interactions a lot, even if I don;t understand the point of the dead sister story in it and I’m sad they got rid of Nico and Gert’s friendship

The death of Molly’s parents was possibly due to them being mutants but I’m not sure? again it seemed an odd change and gets rid of how tragic the running away situation is for her trying to grapple with the fact that her parents were evil and she has to get out at ten years old (her interactions with wolverine regarding this kill me lmao) and instead relegating that to backstory is a shame

Alex was probably the best portrayed out of them, his isolation, nerdiness and leadership skills were showing through in those first few episodes although obviously his major character moments come a lot later and I didn;t get to that point and I do worry that they’ll mess that up to lmao

Anyway I haven;t watched a lot of it so maybe some of this gets corrected and maybe it gets a lot better but I was so excited by the casting and I had high hopes and they got crushed pretty quick which sucks cause I’ve been waiting for this for over 8 years :’)

For real though watching yhs has lead me to the conclusion that despite Grian seemingly has such an active fight instinct....most of the time he actually doesnt respond to situations with half the fight attributed to him.

When faced with a traumatic situation Grian will absolutely bare his teeth at the nearest threat. He's absolutely vitriolic towards Sam at all times without fail and has even initiated physical violence in their confrontations once or twice. He's often on edge, often quick to angry outbursts, just overall rather hostile when faced with a dangerous/frightening/harmful situation. Which definitely indicates his main response to these scenarios is to fight. Hard.

However the more I engaged with fanon the more I faltered. A lot of fanon does portray him as very hostile in the face of trouble. Which should make sense. Canonically Grian knows when to say no, when to argue, and even sometimes when to physically fight back. Any episode with Grian present will likely have examples of him pushing back against harmful situations. And yet something always feels very Off about that being the start and end of it in a lot of fanon. Which led me down an interesting line of thinking.

I honestly suspect that Grian's volatility and will to fight back isn't nearly as strong as one would believe from observing him on surface level. In fact, his on the surface hostility feels like it's borderline a facade altogether to be honest.

I mean look at examples throughout canon of Grian in distressing situations.

Yhs halloween episode. The one where Taurtis got stabbed. And the following situation where Grian is famously forced to dress up like Taurtis. Grian would later be very upset about Sam stabbing Taurtis, however his initial response was to nervously laugh and even give Sam appeasing praise. I mean, Grian says "you weren't supposed to stab him" pretty clearly, but he anxiously laughs before and afterwards and even tells Sam he's proud of him when prompted. Obviously Grian was very upset about the whole thing later on after taking Taurtis to the hospital however in the moment he's mostly silent and when he's not he's just nervously laughing throughout, even agreeing with whatever *Sam* says when he's outright prompted by name for an opinion, then when everyone else tries to play it off casually Grian actually goes along with it almost entirely, even agreeing to let Taurtis drive him home for some reason. Then, according to his own story, he had an opportunity to talk to police at the hospital and he didn't incriminate Sam. He knew they were supicious of *him* but he still didn't incriminate the actual killer. "I told them I found him like that" Grian alleged. Honestly it sounds like he didn't tell them much of *anything* before being released and making the walk back to meet Sam. The next morning Grian was significantly more vocally upset about Taurtis being stabbed and expressed being upset with Sam however he seemed significantly more anxious than he was angry throughout the interaction. Then Grian immediately pretty readily agreed to go with Sam and Yuki to school and willingly put on the Taurtis outfit before the other's even started with the threats in the name of making things 'less awkward'. He certainly objected, however he was once again a lot more anxious than angry, nervously laughing, coming up with really weak unimportant excuses, and agreeing within ten seconds of being asked. Pretty much the rest of his time dressed as Taurtis goes very similarly. He objects to most things he's told to do and brings up Sam stabbing Taurtis multiple times despite the other's not wanting him to but is primarily nervous rather than hostile and he never actuslly puts up enough resistence for it to stick. Even when the other's were stuffing plastic down his throat and he told them he thought it may kill him Grian still did it and told the other's he *liked* it when pushed. Eventually he got out of it by running on Rowan's command and no sooner than being told to get out of there. When Sam found him again Grian immediately even reverted back to doing as he was told and cowering away from him in obvious fear up until Okami and Rowan showed up and shoved Grian behind them. Then he *still went home that night* knowing Sam would be there. When they found Taurtis it was pretty clear that Grian was hoping Taurtis would help him once he got his memory back however when instructed to stop telling Taurtis who he was Grian for the most part did aside from subtle pushing about the familiarity of certain things and then later when Taurtis got his memory back and made it pretty clear he wasn't going to help Grian? Grian conceded. He spent a good few minutes arguing about everything he'd gone through- everything they both had- and insisting it wasn't okay but when Taurtis made it pretty clear he wasn't going to do anything and they collectively agreed Grian was the real problem? Grian kinda...stopped. When Taurtis made it clear he wasn't going to be helping, Grian just kinda fell back into their normal routine with the other's, and when Sam demanded an 'apology soda' from Grian for what he'd apparently done, Grian bought it for him saying "If that's what it takes for things to go back to normal".

Let's also look at Grian's involvement with the law during/shortly-after the Halloween situation. When Sam and Yuki dragged him to join the Yakuza he was upset and objected anxiously but caved as soon as he got pushback. When Sam wanted to steak from the Yakuza he once again got objections from Grian who nervously insisted that it was a terrible idea but once again Sam shoved aside Grian's complaints and once again Grian just kinda fell into place despite being upset. When the police also started threatening the trio's lives to work for them, Grian objected. He questioned if they were allowed to do that and was very openly not happy about any of it, however he very quickly submitted under pressure. Both times Grian was locked in solitary confinement he loudly protested his sanity and both times he voiced how disturbing it was on a really deep level being locked up like that but both times when he was let out he just went with the other two again and let them brush it all off- even knowing full well they let him out to be *death fodder*. He just went with them relatively quietly save for maybe a token remark or two. Honestly the large majority of this bs Grian was involved with was under physical threat and he almost always bent under it. Even down to his fight with Pie over Ellen. Pie showed up and started challenging their relationship. Sam, Taurtis, and Yuki insisted they have a knife fight. Grian said *no*. Pie said yes. Sam, Taurtis, and Yuki affirmed there would be a knife fight. Grian objects more. Everyone else present discusses how the knife fight will work. Grian gets stabbed. Grian suggests they just ask Ellen who they want to date *obviously*. Ellen chooses nobody and leaves. Grian was upset but then just kinda accepts it and goes on with what the whole group was doing before.

And just to round this out with one more example. The Starwars Cosplay Incident. Apparently Sam burst into Grian's room, undressed him, shoved him into Leia Cosplay complete with fake boobs, and locked him in the basement for three days. Grian sits there for three days until Taurtis rescues him.  Grian has a moment of being rightfully very angry and finally even tries to physically attack Sam, demanding to know if Taurtis is aware of what Sam did to him and insisting that they can't expect everything to be fine now. Except it kinda...was. Taurtis stopped Grian from attacking Sam, they both brushed it off as a joke and not a big deal, and then they went to school. And Grian just *went*. He walked with the other two, he wore the outfit Sam put him in, and he just kinda moved on. Grian would later object when the clones tried to pull him out of class, snapping that he just wants to learn and get an education like a normal person and demanding to know why he's not allowed to. But he goes! And when he's released he walks right back to Sam and Taurtis, makes some bitter remarks to them, and let's them shove it all aside as if it's unimportant. Later when it's Grian, Sam, and a member of school staff alone in the closet, some innapropriate remarks are made to Grian. He very quickly says he's reporting the remarks made by school staff but Sam tells him not to be rude and it doesn't seem Grian ever does. Later on when Geode makes a comment about Grian's outfit as well Sam and Taurtis start pondering *giving* Grian to them. Grian repeatedly said *no* but with a lot more despair than defiance and we don't even know if he'd have actually followed through with fighting back if they'd tried to actually give him away because they were interrupted before the situation got to that point. Grian once again just let the other's move on as if that didn't happen and continued following them around, though! And he wore that damn outfit he was very explicitly uncomfortable with. All day.

Which is kinda all to say that when it comes to fighting back Grian is a lot more bark than bite.

Grian throws out a lot of bitter remarks, makes his objections very apparent in most things, and even has more than one vitriolic rant to his abuser(s) throughout the series. But that layer of his responses to things is so fragile that it tends to fall away within minutes- if that, sometimes *seconds*.

Of course ive seen other people take note of this and argue that it means Grian actually *wants* to do these thingd he's objecting to but I think that's silly. If it were just things like group crime or violent acts then id possibly see it but Grian puts up the same kind of response to having plastic shoved down his throat and to being locked in the basement for days which there's no way in hell he was any kind of okay with. The more likely scenario here isn't that he secretly wanted to do any of these things and made his resistence weak so he could pretend he tried while still doing it.

The likely scenario here is that his fight response is much more for show than one would think. Because Grian's strongest most influential response to things really never seems to be to fight. Aggression is really hardly Grian's overall stance on handling a distressing situation.

Much more frequently you see the most influence coming from completely other instinctive responses.

Looking for outside help in adults, friends, and classmates like when Okami and Rowan protected him during his time dressed as Taurtis or when Grian tried desperately to get Taurtis to be on his side and help him after Sam seriously hurt him both when Taurtis first got his memory back after Halloween and when Taurtis found Grian in the basement during the Starwars Cosplay Incident, hell, even during his fight with Pie it can be argued that Grian calling for them to just ask Ellen was an appeal to outside help as he hoped Ellen would agree to end the fight and save him from the situation as a result.

Running away- or trying to at least- from the threat. Most notably seen back during the halloween incident when he quite literally ran out the back of the gym and hid from Sam+Yuki then hiding behind Okami and Rowan when they showed up in an attempt to flee from Sam which is how he got away from the other's at all during that situation. Grian's consistent need to exclaim every so often how much he wants to go back to Europe is a subtler example of this, though, of Grian's urge to get away.

Honestly though being quiet and moving as he's directed seems to be the most common winning response. You see little sparks of reaction from him but most of the time Grian is just quiet, nervously laughing, following Taurtis and Sam around in what they ask of him, and even outright appeasement strategies to maintain a calm environment. This is So common from Grian. This is what usually wins out. His quiet nervous laughter and agreeing with Sam when Taurtis is first stabbed. The fact that he didn't tell the police what Sam did when alone with them during questioning and then immediately walked to meet up with Sam and went to school with Sam+Yuki with literally no objections. The fact that he didn't say no like *at all* to putting on the Taurtis outfit in the name of not making things awkward and complied within seconds of first being asked. How he proceeded to do what he was asked all day and didn't make any move to get away until Rowan outright instructed him to run. The fact that he went back! The fact that he went along with it when they joined the Yakuza and when they stole from the Yakuza and when they joined up with the cops and when they *forced him into a knife fight*. How Grian eventually just lost his spark of defiance after Taurtis first got his memories back and made it clear he wasn't helping Grian, with Grian agreeing to buy Sam a fucking *apology soda* if it meant things would go back to normal after hearing everyone else agree that *he* was the problem in all he'd been put through. The way he just goes back to following Sam and Taurtis after they got him locked in solitary confinement on blatant lies because they *wanted* to. The way he walks around school with the other two while wearing cosplay that made him feel gross and uncomfortable that Sam had literally physically forced onto him and just went along with what he was told in the end.

Grian always puts up a fight but not a good one. He makes side comments, he makes objections, he even has more than one emotional rant about the hell he's put through, however this never wins out in the end and this presenting fight is very frequently just barely holding down much stronger freeze and fawn instincts that usually win out pretty damn quick.

Which!!! In a situation like Grian's it actually makes significantly more sense to have strong freeze and fawn responses than to have a strong fight response! I mean, think about it. A fight response is primarily useful in scenarios in which it's possible to take strong action to remove the threat. You're attacked by a dog so you throw stuff at it till it backs away. You're picked on by an upperclassman so you punch em' in the nose expecting fully that they'll leave you be after. Someone attacks you while you're walking home so you try and stab them with your key. Fighting is an incredibly good response for random/one time attacks. If you're ever kidnapped you wanna scream and punch and kick and make a scene so they can't take you to a secondary location. You fight. Fighting is optimal for unexpected stranger conflicts. That's not the situation Grian's in though. Grian suffers from serious long term physical, emotional, and financial abuse. He's in a country he doesn't have residency or family in, he doesn't have a readily available source of income, he doesn't have his own mode of transportation, it seems that most of the time he doesnt have a clear way home, he's often dealing with long term friends of his and seemingly his biggest source of support prior to this situation, even back in Europe he doesn't have much support system to run to given his parents canonically left him, he's frequently under threat of physical danger, etc. This is not the kind of situation in which an intense primary fight response helps. This is the type of situation in which an intense primary fight response either gets you seriously hurt or wandering the streets with no way to provide for yourself. It would likely be similar if he presented an intense primary flight response to be honest. In long term abuse situations where there's no rational way of escaping safely or no rational place to escape to? Often the primary responses that promote survival are fawn and freeze. Appeasing the aggressor or sinking into the background. Those are your ways to stay alive when you can't expect to 'win' or escape. It absolutely makes more sense for Grian to have primary fawn and freeze responses than a primary fight response.

But then why does he present so much hostility? What's with all the bitter remarks and the attempts to voice objections and the occasional overt insults/screaming? How does a fawn/freeze response present as fight when first pressed at?? Well fun fact, I have experience with that kind of presentation because I *was* that kind of presentation. Oh boy did I try to push strong fight responses towards my abusive father with token resistences and petty remarks even though most of the time I crumpled under the slightest pressure and spent my time ignoring the problem or dissociating or trying very hard to avoid future conflicts. You put up a token front of fight even if that's never going to be your primary response for the sake of your own mental health, really. To assure the world- and *you*- knows that you don't *want* this situation. So you can say you tried. Out of some misguided hope that your attempted bravado won't be seen through and that maybe this time they'll just stop pushing instead of calling the bluff. Which. Makes sense with Grian as well. I mean looking at the times he really truly goes off before reverting back to a more appeasing stance, most notably his rants from when Taurtis first got his memory back as well as from when he got out of the basement during the Starwars Cosplay Incident. Most of those rants were taken up by Grian loudly and passionately reiterating what he'd been through, insisting he was the victim, and calling Sam an awful person before the defiance fades out and he becomes more willing to just go about their day. It's one attempted push hoping the other parties present will vie in his favour and a reassertion that he's not okay with this and that *he* is being hurt which gives way within minutes to a much duller attitude. That's just a painfully familiar format. Adding on Grian's token objections/passive aggressive remarks to many situations that distress him and how quickly those objections give way as dismissed by others. That kind of behaviour feels strongly like an attempt to preserve your own mental wellbeing as much as possible with the knowledge that you tried to some extent and with just generally hearing out loud that you are the victim even if from yourself. Grian's behaviour just really feels like a facade of defiance to cover up general helplessness which makes a Lot of sense for the scenario. Probably more than just plain defiance would.

Ok, can we just talk about this? I saw this image on Twitter and for some reason I feel really emotional about it. Well, it IS an emotional image. It’s Kuroko passing on the torch to Robo as in Kuroko no Basuke has done it’s job and is now over, handing over everything to the new golf series.

This is probably going to be just a rant but I need to dump these thoughts somewhere, and where better than Tumblr? ;) Where to start... So the Kurobas LAST GAME movie has earner over 1 BILLION YEN IN CINEMAS ONLY!!! Like, hello!? Production I.G isn’t this like a gold mine? People obviously want to see more so WHY ARE YOU NOT GIVING US MORE? The figure alone says something AND that is just the 1st wave! Just you wait until the DVDs and Blu-rays come out! With the combination of 1 billion yen + the DVDs, I don’t know what more evidence the studio needs. Kurobas ended when it was on top of it’s game. I think that’s insane!

(BTW GUYS, Please try to buy the DVD or Blu-ray instead of downloading the movie from HorribleSubs and other websites. The anime industry survives from the income of their DVDs and so if they sell, the companies will see that PEOPLE WANT that anime. Plz Plz if you’re a Kurobas fan, support the creators. I’ve already pre-ordered my blu-ray of LAST GAME too. Ah! U can watch blu-ray in any region, u just have to have a PlayStation or a Blu-ray player. So yh, if u can, plz buy the DVDs)

Another thing is that we have the stage plays! So far we had 1 and another is playing in theaters RIGHT NOW! And we know that there will be more since the whole story wasn’t told yet. We don’t have Murasakibara or Akashi in the stage play just yet and they are sure to come. Because of the popularity, they’ve already announced the release dates of the DVDs too! (blu-rays as well). I mean why would they announce it if there was no demand? PLUS NEED I MENTION THAT THE TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT? DEMAND PPL! HELLO Production I.G!!!

We ALSO have the Replace PLUS manga that is BEING PUBLISHED. There aren’t many chapters for us to read online (which I hate and would kill for), but in Japan they’re selling too! I don’t have the exact figures or anything but what I’m trying to say is that the Kurobas is still alive! it has a side manga that is being published and even though it’s not done by the original creator, it’s still supervised by him! Kurobas is STILL ALIVE! (Replace PLUS needs more love from the online community...)

The Kurobas fanbase is legendary and it’s still strong in force. There are still Kurobas events and merchandise that is out there and it’s not taken out. Why? Because fans are still there, buying it. I really believe that Kurobas has made an impact on a lot of people and so they want to support the series. They love the story and the characters as well. Don’t write Kurobas off just yet Fujimaki. There is so much potential here. Like making another season with the content from Replace PLUS (yh, I’m still waiting for the announcement and I’m probably not alone).

I’m probably exaggerating but I’m just a Kurobas dork. I’ve never loved a series this much and I think that I never will. I know that people keep saying that “there is nothing else to do. The main point of the story is over” but I just can’t take that. I love everything about Kurobas and I just want to see more of it. I know that Fujimaki is finally doing the manga he always wanted to do (about golf) but Kurobas is not over, so don’t do the passing of the torch Fujimaki! It ain’t over yet!

As long as the fandom is alive, Kurobas is still alive. So guys please, support the creators and show them you care. For those of us outside of Japan, we can buy the DVDs and support them that way. Everything else will depend on the Japanese fans and from what I heard, they’re to be feared XD

(I know that there were many interviews where Fujimaki said that he’d like to continue one day but until that day comes, it’s only small talk to me... and I also went to Animate in Shibuya and saw that the Kurobas merch section has SHRANK considerably! ALTHOUGH! There is still the Chara Pop store and J-World that have Kurobas events! I still have hope but at this point with no announcements made, I’m getting more desperate and desperate by day. That’s why when I saw this image, it struck me like a knife to the chest...)

Sorry about this rant but I really wanted to get this out here. Now I feel better... Man, this image really got to me... (Now I can only pray for announcements... Plz let there be more... I NEED my bbys in my life) If anyone has more info, plz message me ;)

   And the medical thing???? Like????? First of all, pregnancy is still super dangerous, it still kills people here in the US (Texas is actually #1 for this). Secondly?? Not a lot of work gets put into women’s conditions. And a lot of women are pushed away and devalued and ignored at doctors offices? Like? And women on longer life expectancy on top of all this. I’m not saying dudes are weak but uh…

the pregnancy thing i mentioned that not many meds are tested on people who r pregnant so u have to go off ur meds as well there.... (which predominantly affects cis women but obvs can affect people of any gender who can get pregnant)

not to mention the common heart attack symptoms thing - being much more common for people to know the stereotypical guy ones
