I have forgotten that it is actually kind of Therapy Homework for me to post things online!
#this sounds really stupid and questionable i know. but basically.#i have an issue where any time i do Anything i feel the need to tell my friends about it for validation and attention and stuff#which means that when they don't respond immediately i feel shitty and also. when we do have conversations i have nothing to talk about#but online especially here on tumblr i really do not give a shit about it#but like. i still get to get it out and be like “OH MY GOD I DID SOMETHING”#it sounds kind of weird i know but it works for me and it improves my relationships with my friends lol. ideally someday i will not#need to acknowledge Everything I Do like that but for now tumblr is WAY healthier than like spamming my friends lol#so anyway! today i went to a new bookstore in my area and it was GREAT and i added a Ton of books to my list (the classics section!!!)#and also there were some people in the d&D section and i joined in on a convo of theirs abt paladdins. i was kind of awkward about it but#i'm still glad i talked and they seemed pleasantly surprised if slightly amused by the interaction! but like really. it is SO cool#that you can just meet people in public!! and especially that bookstores are sort of...#directly conducive to meeting people with similar interests just based off of how the sections are organized#i got a collection of Poe and a history book#aLSO i went to costco for the first time#and i baked oatmeal raisin cookies! haven't baked since i started high school p much but i'm getting back to it after thanksgiving cooking#and they came out pretty decently!#and i just made like. a cucumber salad kind of. idk what to call it. and i really like it. ya boi is cooking a lot now bc#he remembered how fun it is#anyway! yeah i really need to get back to journaling in general too!!!#dante dicit#journal tag#ig#might delete

You Flinched | 141 Headcannons
Don't mind me, just some 141 boys reacting to finding out reader has a history of abuse or DV. We all know that our boys would never harm a loved one, but I began thinking about them responding to their loved one being triggered. Because trauma isn't rational.
CW: DV mentioned/alluded to (not on-screen), trauma
Characters: Simon "Ghost" Riley, Johnny "Soap" MacTavish, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, John Price, gn!reader
Word Count: 2,833
A/N: Yes this is self-indulgent because I have my own history and use my comfort characters to help. So I hope it can help someone else in the same way it helps me. Also forgive me, I threw it together on a whim and didn't really edit it.
Simon "GHOST" Riley
Simon is usually very careful with how he presents. He knows he's big, he knows he's intimidating, and most of all he knows what it's like to be vulnerable and scared of someone bigger than you. He knows when to use his voice/stature to his advantage (like on the battlefield) vs when to tone it down (like in private). He never wants to be scary to those he loves, ever. In fact, he wants his loved ones to have the opposite experience from what he had growing up.
That said, we all have our moments. It was, you both could admit, a silly argument over what ended up amounting to a non-issue. He was fresh back from the field and sleep-deprived and you had had a long shitty day and so a small disagreement became an argument. Somewhere in the bickering Simon decided he was over it. He stood, crumpling the paper he was holding into a fist and raising his voice, which he almost never did.
The combination of the fist and the yelling was what did it. He stood up so tall, so fast, and suddenly you were eight again, hiding in the cupboards and terrified to make a sound. Not knowing what would happen if you were found, but knowing for certain it wouldn't be good. When your parents went into their rages, there was nothing to do but hide and wait it out. As if reciting a dance you knew by heart, you shrank back, hands coming up defensively.
Simon noticed instantly, despite your best attempts to play it off. He knew all too well the look of a terrorized inner child and recognized it immediately in your pale face and shrinking posture. It broke his heart; he immediately regretted lashing out as it was, but this was even worse.
He'd step back, giving you space. He'd ask permission before approaching you and before hugging you, and once you gave it you'd be wrapped in an embrace that was both tender and hard as steel. He'd hold you for a long time, not saying anything. If you cracked and it all came spilling out, he'd listen intently. If you didn't want to talk about it, he'd respect it and not breathe a word about it until you were ready. You could feel in his heartbeat his need to make you feel safe warring with his desire to find whoever made you afraid and teach them a lesson about fear.
Simon is a man of actions, not words, and he's never been a fan of "sorry" and instead prefers follow-through. Now, though, the word poured from his lips. Wrapping your arms around him in return, you forgave him wordlessly.
The next free time you both had, he'd surprise you by taking you to a shooting range. Another weekend, he'd teach you basic knife skills and how to throw a decent punch. If questioned, he'd say it was something he'd been meaning to do for a while with a dismissive shrug. But you had a hunch, even if he couldn't or wouldn't verbalize it, that he was sharing with you the ways he'd learned to overcome feeling powerless when he was younger. By learning to defend and fight back, you could take your agency back and walk into the world unafraid. It didn't matter that he'd grind anyone who bothered you into dust, because it was about you and making you feel empowered. Simon wasn't one to give you bouquets of flowers and poems, but he could give you this. And, slowly but surely, it started to work.
John "SOAP" Mactavish
You and Johnny were out with some mutual friends at the pub one night, drinking and having fun. Your boisterous Scotsman was ever the social butterfly, and he never failed to bring the party wherever he went.
You and a friend were laughing at something on your phone, and when you handed it Johnny to show him, you froze as your eyes saw an unmistakable silhouette over his shoulder. You recovered quickly, sure that it was a mistake, but not quickly enough. Johnny's face went serious as he studied your expression, which was suddenly tense.
You'd play it off, not wanting to ruin the good vibe. You'd even double check to reassure yourself that it wasn't him, but your stomach would sink once you looked back. In a corner of the bar, nursing a glass of dark liquor, was your ex. He noticed you at the same time, and the eye contact made you feel sick.
At this, Johnny would take a look for himself, and would pick out the man eyeing you from across the bar right away. After giving the man a once-over, he'd turn back to you.
"Is that who I think it is?" You'd nod. You had told him bits and pieces of how your ex treated you, but left out the worst of it lest Johnny go on a rampage to defend your honor. He's loyal to a fault and would not take kindly to anyone mistreating people he cared about.
The unfortunate thing was, being special forces came with an ability to read people and situations, and your reaction to seeing your ex filled in the gaps well enough for Johnny to understand what wasn't being said. You were scared, and the man seemed to know it by the smug expression he wore as he stared at you.
Rather than cause a scene, as you had feared, Johnny scooted so he completely blocked your view of the other man (and the man's view of you via his broad shoulders). Seamlessly, he'd continue the conversation with the folks around you as if nothing was amiss, despite his hand never leaving your thigh in a move that was at once possessive and reassuring. You leaned into the touch, comforted by Johnny's presence and relieved that the situation had seemingly blown over.
A bit later, Johnny announced he was going to the bar to get another round for the table. On instinct, your gaze shot to where your ex had been sitting, but his seat was now empty. Breathing a sigh of relief, your eyes turned to follow Johnny through the room. You could never get tired of looking at him. It wasn't until he reached the bar and clapped a fellow patron on the shoulder that you realized the individual he was talking to wasn't the bartender, but your ex who had moved seats. Keeping his hand on the man's shoulder, Johnny struck up a conversation like a true natural.
Oh no.
You braced for a commotion, but Johnny's expression and body language stayed friendly and open. You couldn't hear what he was saying to the man, and if asked he'd tell you he was just introducing himself. But when he let go of your ex's shoulder and flagged down the bartender to order a drink, the other man threw some money onto the bar and all but ran out the door.
The place would become a frequent haunt for your friend group, but you'd never see your ex darken the doorstep again after Johnny's talk with him. Good riddance.
Kyle "Gaz" Garrick
You and Kyle had been going steady for a bit now, and you were excited to introduce him to your family. Well, most of your family. You didn't have a good relationship with your stepdad, and Kyle respected that it was a sore spot for you. He would never pry, but he could pick up on how your tone would change when your stepdad would come up in conversation, how your posture would change when your mom dragged him into the frame to say hello during your video chats.
A big family dinner was the perfect opportunity to introduce everyone to Kyle, and you were looking forward to it. Truly. You had a nice outfit picked out and Kyle bought some fancy wine to bring, hoping for a good first impression. He needn't have worried; your aunts and cousins all fawned over him, and your uncles were endlessly impressed by his stories from his job. Long story short, he was a hit.
He stayed by you all night, stroking the back of your hand with his thumb as he made conversation. At first, you chalked it up to being the new guy in the room, but the ease of his posture suggested he wasn't nervous. Rather, his frequent check-ins started to make it feel like his closeness was for your benefit. You were the one who was nervous, looking over your shoulder every few minutes praying you didn't see a certain face in the crowd. You loved your family, but get-togethers always came with a certain amount of anxiety. Every time your eyes strayed around the room, Kyle's followed, taking in the crowd. Even more frequently, you caught him sneaking glances at you, as if assessing if you were alright.
You were alright, until the front door opened and you heard a specific voice boom in greeting. Your mom and stepdad strode in, late as always, your mom carrying the casserole dish and your stepdad slapping a case of beer on the counter. Your demeanor changed immediately, shrinking yourself as if you could become invisible if you just hunched enough. It didn't work, of course, and they spotted you within seconds. Before you could react, Kyle was in front of you, placing himself between you and your parents with a smile and his hand out to shake.
"I'm Kyle, heard lots about you," he said neutrally, shaking hands with both of them. They turned to you, but Kyle spoke again. "How was the drive? Heard you had to come across that new expressway, have they finished that yet?"
It was like that the rest of the evening. Kyle remained an immovable barrier between you and your stepdad, keeping him engaged in conversation and unable to address you. You and your mom were able to slip away shortly to help set the table and catch up, and every time you snuck a glance at the men out of the corner of your eye, the view was the same: Kyle orienting himself as a physical wall, keeping you out of eyeshot. His body language was at-ease, his smile friendly enough, but his eyes were tight, not like they had been when talking with everyone else.
When everyone grabbed a seat, Kyle pulled a chair out for you before quickly stealing the spot next to you from your stepdad. You looked at him with gratitude and he squeezed your knee reassuringly under the table, all the while maintaining conversations with those around him as if nothing was amiss. If you hadn't already loved him, you certainly would have after that night.
Captain John Price
Ah, spring cleaning.
Well, it was November, but still. It's refreshing to get rid of old stuff and start anew, but it's also essential when you're combining two households. John had finally convinced you to move in with him, so the two of you were creating piles labeled "Keep" "Trash" and "Donate". Upon reaching the bottom of an old box labelled "Miscellaneous," you came upon something that had your stomach churning. Old records: Johnny Cash, the Sex Pistols, the Doors. You hadn't realized you had them, and you weren't particularly fond of who they belonged to.
You didn't realize you had frozen in place until John snapped you out of it, coming up behind you with a hand snaking around your waist and his chin resting on your shoulder.
"Whatcha got, love?" He whistled when you showed him.
"The condition those are in, you could get a pretty penny. I didn't know you collected vinyl, I'd have bought a player."
"They're not... mine." You explained, as briefly as possible, that they were your ex's and must have gotten mixed up in your stuff when you split several years ago. He hummed in understanding.
"Right, then. To the garbage with it?"
It was the logical solution. He hadn't asked after them, so he must not miss them that badly. You would rather lie down in traffic than have any contact with him. But John's comment about their value stopped you from throwing them onto the "Trash" pile. Damn your too-kind heart, always causing problems.
It was easy enough to find your ex's contact info; you had changed your number after the split, he hadn't. Soon enough, you had agreed on a time for him to swing by and grab the stuff when he was free. The rest of moving made the days go by in a blur of organizing and unpacking and bickering over where the toaster should go and which wall to mount the TV on. That is, until you looked at your calendar and realized that it was today. This afternoon was the interaction you'd spent the week trying not to think about. You'd stepped around the box of his things all week, mentally blocking out why it was sitting in the front hall. You'd managed to stay busy, and bury your anxiety in the endless tasks that come with setting up a new home.
But time had run out, and in mere hours you were going to be face to face with someone you had once sworn never to see again. The realization made the room feel too small, made the air feel too warm, made you feel like you were suffocating. Suddenly you just had to get out.
"We need... yogurt." You blurted, walking too quickly and too loudly into the foyer to grab your keys.
"Yogurt? Right now?" John called from the kitchen.
"Yes, right now! For... for a recipe," you mustered, hoping you sounded convincing. This had been a mistake, a huge mistake, and your brain was screaming RUN! RUN! RUN! as loudly as it could. Hand on the doorknob, however, you froze. If you left, John would be here when your ex arrived. He'd answer the door, introduce himself, and hand off the items. Shouldn't that be ideal? No contact between you and him, simple and easy. But rather than provide relief, the thought made you sick to your stomach. It felt like a defiling almost, to think of him entering your new sanctuary and meeting the love you thought you'd never have. It felt wrong on every level, and your feet rooted to the spot in agreement.
"Still here, love?" John came into view, the book he'd been reading in hand, finger acting as a bookmark. "I was thinking, I could go if you wanted. Just text me what we need. Don't you have someone coming by?"
Yes - that's it, you thought. Have John go, get him away from here before he could arrive. You'd handle it on your own; you'd done it before.
Nodding, you stepped aside, slipping your shoes off next to the door. John put his book down and approached, taking your place and grabbing his keys off the hook. He turned to kiss your forehead, but stopped short and stared at you. He noticed for the first time that you were fidgety, as if anxious for him to leave when usually it was the exact opposite. His ever-observant eyes spent several seconds taking you in, and you knew as he asked the question that he already knew the answer.
"Everything alright?"
Of course it was! How silly to think otherwise! You began playing it off, the same way you had gotten so good at doing back when you and he were still together and your friends would ask you the same thing. Just hyper, just busy, just this, just that, always an excuse to avoid saying "I'm afraid." Afraid of what mood he'd be in, afraid of what awaited you when you two would be alone later. Fear you hadn't felt in a long time, but could feel now just as bone-deep as it had been back then. As if your body had stored it as muscle memory just in case this day came.
"Are you nervous about something?" It was another question you could tell he already knew the answer to, and you wanted to feel irked about it, but looking into those eyes you suddenly just felt tired. Tired of carrying the fear and the uncertainty alone. So you exhaled for a long time, and slowly told him exactly what you were nervous about.
It felt good to get it off your chest. Until now, no one had ever known the extent of what had gone on. You expected John to explode into some fit of hyper-masculine protectiveness like guys on TV, but he didn't. He listened to you talk, and then he nodded and sat on the couch, reopening his book on his lap.
"What are you doing?" You eyed him suspiciously, unable to believe that that was the end of the conversation.
"Well, I'm waiting right here. And when this lad knocks, I'm going to answer the door and have a little chat with him."

Hi again~! Your first batch of valentines are super cute, you did a great job! Also, I would be honored to be 💙 Anon if you’d like! Sorry for responding late, but I didn’t want to clog up your inbox! Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to come off anon. 😂
I have a fresh request for you too, I hope you’ll like it! Would you please do romantic headcanons or a little oneshot (I’ll let you decide which you feel like!) for Vox and f!reader going out dancing? I got the idea in my head recently and it won’t go away! Like just imagine him taking reader to one of those 1950s style nightclubs with the big ol’ dance floors for a night out—I think it’d be so cute! 😊
Thank you as always for all your hard work!
-💙
Rum Punch [Romantic]
In which on one random boring night you bring up how you miss dancing at clubs, and Vox only wants to make you happy. Reader is female.
Song - Don't Start Now x Hung Up Remix
There was nothing peculiar going on for you or your husband tonight; just normal days highlighted by seeing one another. There was nothing wrong with repetition, of course, you were both comfortable and happy as you were most nights.
But tonight, you couldn't help but feel inspired by the various songs switching as Vox scrolled through sinstagram.
"If you like staring at me so much, why not take a picture?" The voice blurted from your phone, and when you looked down at it, Vox's head had taken over the screen.
Rolling your eyes, you swiped the screen, which caused his visage to switch back to his main monitor.
"Not you, though I know you just love the idea of being my only focal point." Your neutral expression shifted into a smile, enjoying your usual teasing.
"I was just feeling..." As you trailed, the overlord leaned toward you expectantly. "Inspired?"
Reaching over, you pressed a button on the side of his screen, which immediately closed off his face and opened up his home screen. An angry grumbling came from your phone again, and you couldn't help but laugh as you used his monitor to look up the nearest club.
He swatted your hands away once you finished typing, and his face came back with a look of annoyance.
"Listen, if you want to party so bad, I'll take you to a party! Best of the best, every celebrity you could ever-"
"That's sweet and all, but I mean a real party—an old club with a big dance floor and shitty drinks!" You stood up, holding your hands far apart as you expressed the size of the dancefloor. Vox only sat back, sinking into the couch.
He looked up to the sky as you jokingly showed off some disco moves to exaggerate your point, though he stopped you when he held up a hand.
"Well, if my baby wants to party, then party we will! But I get to pick the place."
. . .
Only an hour later, the two of you were dressed and on your way. You argued that you didn't want to draw any attention, so he begrudgingly called a cab instead of his usual driver.
"So! Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
"Not even a hint?"
Vox only shook his head, though he laughed at your interest. Hell had a fuckton of bars, most shittier than the rest, so he made sure to pick a place he had minor ties to, that way he could ensure your safety.
Not that he would tell you that. He knew you liked the authenticity of being a stranger to others, but you should have thought of that before you said 'I do' to hell's most known man.
When you arrived, Vox could see the excitement creep onto your face upon seeing the club. It was run down, certainly, but it had a full parking lot and the music was blaring.
He seemed quite proud of himself, knowing he'd done a good job, but he quickly straightened himself out and offered a hand to you. In no time, the muffled music turned into a rhythm your heart could beat too, surrounded by friends and couples dancing together.
This was certainly old school—older than you expected—it was tacky, but it was perfect. Everyone's heels tapped on the waxed pine floor, which made every step louder than it seemed and filled the room with the drum of dozens dancing.
It looked to be some kind of tropical theme, with fake palm trees along the walls and many colourful cocktails with pineapple wedges or mini umbrellas.
All the chairs were wicker, along with the tables, though those had glass slabs on top of them to protect from the likely hundreds of spills this place saw per night. The seating surrounded the dance floor, most tables had a few people who would take turns on the dance floor. While you were interested in the warm-toned string lights hanging around the ceiling, Vox was interested in grabbing a drink.
"For the lady, a rum punch...and I'll go for the blue Hawaii." There were almost too many options, but you couldn't go wrong with the classics.
You were still distracted taking in the scene as he leant against the bar, glancing at you with a chuckle. He was sure he could have picked anywhere and you'd have been happy, but he liked to think he did a good job.
"You know, this sorta scene really reminds me of my startup in hell." A drink in each hand, Vox let you take a sip of both before handing you the one you enjoyed more. As always, you stared at him when he drank, probably still weirded out by how a monitor drank. Vox chose to ignore it as per usual.
When your gaze never left him, he figured he might as well continue.
"Val and I have known each other a long, long time. He got into business before me, and you know his thing. He'd go to every nightclub in the city, trying to find people who'd hear him out." Vox stiffed a laugh, seemingly amused, thinking of Valentino's struggle to fame.
"He needed a cameraman, and I was better than nothing. But cameramen were easy to hire, so quickly I was moved to handling the website, and you know the rest from there." He turned his monitor to the dancefloor, his now mostly empty drink placed on the table you were standing by.
"Places like these were all the hype. We went from scouting in them to blowing our paychecks in them to owning them." In his peripherals, he saw you down the last of your drink, sitting it next to his and pumping your first in the air.
"Here's to the past! And how much better it feels looking back on it than being in it." You dropped a lighthearted comment to pull him back to the present, grabbing his hand to drag him into the mingling hot bodies dancing as if they were going to die tomorrow.
He had to duck and squeeze between everyone, seeing as you were far smaller and could get through easier. But eventually, you were in the centre of the dance floor, facing each other.
"Are you sure it's okay to dance after chugging a drink?"
"I can't hear you! Just dance dumbass!" He could hear you just fine, but he shrugged it off with a grin, seeing you bust out the same moves you had in your living room just a few hours ago.
Only this time, he grabbed one of your hands and joined in.
Song after song, you two were never further than a few inches from each other. While Vox focused on keeping you close to him, you were busy singing out the lyrics to songs he didn't even know you knew. He made sure everyone saw that you were all over him, and he was just the same back, to make sure there were no incidents with stupid demons thinking they could take you away from him.
Even in the heat of dancing, Vox would always be jealous enough to worry about others looking at you.
But those thoughts were easily distracted when you'd pull him in for a kiss or push up against him, asking him to do a move with you.
A few drinks later and the night was a blur shaped vaguely like you, something that danced around his head until, eventually, he could remember that you both had work the next day and needed to leave.
When you left the building, there were only a few cars left in the parking lot, the building having mostly cleared during the handful of hours you'd both spent there.
Vox was holding you in his arms, bridal style, while you held loosely onto the heels you really shouldn't have worn.
This time, he called for his driver and let you comfortably lay in the back with your head in his lap, his claws carefully tracing through your hair and scratching your scalp. He could tell you were half asleep, but still coming down from the high of the club.
"Vox."
"Mhmm?"
"Thank you for taking me out," You paused as if you had something else to add, but when the pause continued for what felt like minutes, Vox realized you'd passed out on his lap.
For once, his grin was nothing but a careful smile, his hand leaving your head to rub circles into your shoulder.
"Thank you for reminding me what it felt like to be human."

A/N: I wrote this like a month ago when I needed to vent, but I thought some of y'all might appreciate it, so I'll share it here. I almost feel like it could be the start of a series, but idk, lmk what you think?(Also, I tried to leave the 'they' in question vague, so it could be an ex, family, friend or whatever you prefer.)

Joon being wide awake at three in the morning was far from out of the ordinary, he'd often said that he did some of his best work at night, having passed more than his fair share of sleepless nights writing.
You however, were usually long dead to the world at this hour, which is why when his phone screen lit up with your name, he was quick to answer.
"Hey y/n."
"Joon?" The shake in your voice instantly put made him sit up straighter, concerned.
"What happened?"
"Can... can I come over?" You asked.
"Of course." He said, without hesitation. "Are you okay? Do you need me to get you?"
"I'm fine." You said, but he knew that wasn't fully true, it was clear you'd been crying. "I just don't want to stay here tonight."
"Come over. Do you want me to set up our usuals?" He asked.
"Sure." You responded.
Over the course of your friendship, you two had developed a near ritual of whenever one of you was upset, you'd go over to the other's place to talk, usually over some sort of drinks.
You couldn't count how many nights you'd spent camped out on each other's sofas, or sometimes beds, ranting about everything from shitty ex's, family or work problems, or even just that one neighbor who never waved back at you. It didn't necessarily fix any of the issues, but it was comforting nonetheless to have someone who would lend a sympathetic ear or a shoulder to cry on.
He could tell whatever happened must have been bad. Normally, when you called, you would already be giving him the rundown of whatever had happened, so your quietness on the other end of the phone was more than a little worrying.
You showed up not long after, your sweats and oversized hoodie making you seem even smaller to him than normally.
Skipping over any greeting, he immediately pulled you into a tight, protective hug.
"What happened?" He asked again, but you just shook your head.
"Not yet." You mumbled, trying to soak in his soothing warmth. It was remarkable how easily the simple gesture from him never failed to give you such a sense of comfort and safety.
Once you finally separated, he quickly got you situated on the couch with your drinks, waiting patiently for you to begin.
"They lied, again." You said, staring at the floor as you spoke. "I thought things were getting better. I thought we were getting past it, but they fucking lied, right to my face."
The grip on his glass tightened as he listened to you explain, his long simmering anger and frustration at your situation rising to a boil.
"Fuck 'em." He said suddenly.
You looked up at him in surprise.
"I mean it," he said seriously. "You've put up with this shit for long enough. If they can't even have the basic decency to be honest with you, after everything that's happened, then fuck 'em. You deserve so much better than that, than them."
Caught off guard by the intensity of his words, you were hit with a sudden wave of emotion, trying desperately to blink back tears but failing.
"Shit, I'm sorry! Please don't cry." He apologized, frantically scrambling over to pull you into another hug.
"Why are you always so nice to me?" You sniffled.
He looked at you for a moment, unsure of how to answer other than the simple truth. "Because it's what you deserve."
You sat together for a while until your tears ceased and he noticed you drooping on his shoulder and suggested going to bed, waiting till he felt your breaths even out next to him before drifting off as well.
You woke in the morning to the loud clang of cookware and quiet curses.
"Joon?" You called groggily, finding him milling about the kitchen, looking slightly frazzled.
"Sorry babe, did I wake you?" He asked.
"Nah, it's fine." You said, ignoring the term of endearment he reserved for the nights you you stayed over. "What are you doing?"
"Making breakfast, or at least trying to." He said, stirring a pan of eggs uncertainly.
"Here, let me." You offered, taking over as he watched.
"So, um, I was thinking..." He said, trailing off uncertainly.
"Hmm?" You hummed.
"What if you just... stayed here?" He asked nervously. "At least for a little bit?"
You looked up in surprise. "Here?"
"Yeah, I mean, if you want to." He said, fiddling with his sleeves awkwardly. "It's nice having you around, and you're here all the time anyway and I...
"I don't want you to go back there." He said quietly. "They're not good for you, so I thought maybe you could just... be here?"
Slowly, you nodded. "I think I'd like that."
He smiled, relieved. "Good."

more update. just went through the longest three days of my whole life. click to read my tale of woe.
sept 10: had to go get my visa medical exam done (which ate 500 of my savings up... boohoo...) and it was such a long and evil journey into toronto to go get that done (i live in a city an hour outside) because my dad's car is being weird right now so i had to take trains there... and then when i got there they informed me that i was missing blood work (it was done, but i didn't have the actual proof of it. so i needed to ask the doctor who did my blood work to email me that.) so i almost started crying until they said i could still get the rest of the exam done that day and just email them the blood work proof later. Like legit immediately tearing up. i'm not built for these sorts of tasks i think. anyway that meant that i couldn't even ride home with a peace of mind knowing that that's done because it wasnt. i needed that blood work proof.
sept 11: i called the walk in clinic who initially did my blood work to ask if i could get it emailed to me so i could then email it to the visa medical people, and no one answered at all. ever. so i just got up and walked to the clinic. and when i entered the building there was a huge sign on the clinic's door that said they moved and the clinic no longer operates. again, started immediately tearing up because i can't handle anything. anyway i went on a wild goose chase that ended in me calling the doctor who issued the blood test personally and asking if anyone even still had my records and she said that public health did, but i needed to schedule a telehealth appointment to ask a doctor for it. my online appointment would be in the afternoon of the next day which was stressful becauuuuse
sept 12: in the morning of this day i had to go for an oral diagnostic to find out how much it was gonna cost to fix my painful rotting bulimia teeth. i didn't want to go on the train again and my dad was still eager to drive despite his car's condition so i said fuck it because my dentist appointment could be rescheduled if the car broke down on the highway, unlike my visa medical exam where i had to be there. so we went to toronto in our shitty car and i got poked and prodded by a dental student (i have to get my work done by students because it's the lowest cost dental work available to me) and he then informed me that i would need two cleanings which would cost $208 together, and then it would be $130 per tooth filled. and i have very very many cavities. so i think my stuff would be around $1500 to fix which is by all means a bargain but i started freaking the fuck out in the car on the way home because i still don't even have that. like YES it could have been $5000-$10000. but i still don't have $1500. so um. god. yeah. actually i'm still kind of freaking out about that. lol anyway
sept 12 pt 2: we got home just in time for my telehealth appointment and they gave me my blood work proof immediately and easily and i was very relieved and then i emailed it to the visa medical people like they told me to. and it's been very many daylight work hours and no one has responded to me so now i'm filled with an insane dread that there's still something wrong and missing and i can't stop freaking out and crying because i need just one thing to go smoothly just one please just one damn thing. oh ym god please. PLEASEE
sept 13: now we're at today where i am covered in exposed nerves and irritable and scared because i cannot stop thinking about how i need 1500 bucks and also an email back from the visa people who have my whole life in their hands right now. i am doing my commissions because i need to take more because i need that money. i put up a ko-fi goal for an amount a little less than $1500 because that's more of a broad estimate, but i can't be asked to spread my ko-fi link around again so close to when i already e-begged. i feel bad. there's people dying and i'm begging for help to get my tooth hurty fixed. it feels bad. but the goal is there and my commissions are open and if anyone wants to smile at me they can. if anyone has and ideas on how to spead it without me actually spreading it because i just don't have the moxie rn that would be nice too.
Thanks for reading i love you all

Opinion on the video? I feel you'll have funny or spicy things to say about certain parts of it, lol.
So, I haven't answered many asks about the video, simply because the first time I watched it, I watched it in sections and I feel like I missed a lot, so I had to find time and go back to rewatch it before I truly formulated an opinion and responded to anything.
I've done that, so I'll start answering some of these asks now.
To be completely honest, I did write up a very long post about the video, but I wound up scrapping it. It was long, wordy, and 100% bound to get me canceled on here, lol.
So instead, I'm summarize my thoughts here.
This video can basically be split into two parts: The Guests, and the Post Guests.
I might just skip over the whole part with the guests because honestly, I don't even know why they were there. They didn't seem into it, Larray especially wasn't taking it seriously, and I feel like everyone involved was just in it for the view farming. Honestly, the whole first 20 minutes was a skip for me, and I feel like this collab would've been better served in a regular video and not their huge project of the year that's supposed to break barriers and show who they are as people.
The Merry Knockers coming in and doing their thing was fine for what it was - again, I'm not fully feeling their vibes with this, but I'm not going to keep poking at it. It is what it is. So for what it is, it was fine.
I do want to point out one random thing, which is that Colby should go on Wheel of Fortune, cause his guessing game about what these knocks were spelling out was on point, holy damn.
Also, their message about the other side - I think at the end of the day, all anyone wants for the afterlife is for their best case scenario to be true, whether that be dark eternal nothingness or fluffy clouds with angels on them or reincarnation or something in between. We all just want peace, whatever that means for us personally. So, it was a nice message in that regards and it obviously meant a lot to then.
That's what matters. Impact.
The vibes changed the second the guests left, as they always do. Why snc can't just realize that and get comfortable being on their own more often is beyond me, but honestly- it just flows better when it's the two of them.
Now, the one thing I want to point out about this video is that they spent 90% of the time not acknowledging the elephant in the basement- Sam and his middle child tendencies rearing their ugly heads again.
I am going to tread very carefully here, but I'm also going to put it bluntly - what Sam did was selfish. They went into this with a pre-agreed upon idea and plan for the video and the basement in particular, and Sam tried to go into business and - as Colby eloquently put it - "take it for himself." And that's what that was, btw...it was not possession, it was not, "Oh wow, I need a quiet place to think about Grandma." He tried to go into business for himself and take the Big Moment of the video for himself, and when it failed, he sat back for three days and waited until the Big Moment - and a camera - was on them to tell Colby about it.
I would've been pissed too. In fact, I give Colby props for how calmly he handled it, cause I would've thrown some hands lol.
Just a shitty, selfish, non team player thing to do.
What cracked me up about this whole thing was how Colby checked him immediately with just a clenched jaw, a few disappointed words, and a mom look. That's all it took to get Sam backtracking like a motherfucker.
They seriously do act like a long suffering married couple sometimes.
Anyway, 3 minutes later and Sam is the only thing keeping Colby from drowning in the Conjuring Well, so that ought to tell you that they'll be just fine.
The Estes Method...ok. We need to talk about Dave, cause homeboy really just wants to get laid. Is that why he's tryjng to get everyone to go out into the woods? Like bro, you're dead, calm down.
Anyway, Sam's reaction to the "sex" answer was 10/10. Little bit of "what the fuck" mixed with a whole lot of begrudging respect.
Sassy, still-pissed Colby just reacting to Sam's shaking with a disgusted sounding "what are you doing?" also made me laugh.
In general, just know that the basement made me laugh.
The camera malfunctioning at the end - I actually thought Colby was turning it off at first, ngl. It just felt like drama for drama's sake. And then Sam had the bright idea to film it happening on his phone so we could see that it wasn't them - which they need to do more of, by the way - so that was cool.
The head popping up behind them when they came up from the basement: I need confirmation that nobody else was in the house before I even syart going down any possible road on this one. Sorry, snc, but that totally looks like a human.
Anyway, the video was fine for what it was. Psychology wise, there was some utterly fascinating parts to watch and dissect, they got some fun evidence, and there was a lot of snc alone time which is always a plus.
Overall, I'd probably give it a solid 6/10.

i m really sorry you have to deal with so many shitty people on your blog, fandom is supposed to be about fun and creativity and that just sounds rough :/ i m enjoying your posts though and even when i have a different interpretation its fun to hear your perspective!
thank you, that's very kind! that's the thing i wish people were more generous in their interpretation of my posts, when i say something that i believe is true, while i am advocating for my perspective, i am NOT attempting to force anyone to believe me either.
i don't think less of anyone with different opinions, unless they act rude or say things to me that i consider offensive. it's very possible to disagree without tearing someone apart for having a different opinion! i never go to other people's blogs or hop on other people's posts to correct or insult them, if i have an opinion i make my own post and stay in my own lane. i wish people would return that favor, you know?
it's just frustrating because i think the stakes of disagreeing about star wars can be very low. it's related to but also detached from the real world! we can coexist without erasing each other. just like.. please don't insult the buddhism that i follow when you criticize the jedi on my posts, you know? and don't imply that i'm dumb or uneducated about topics that i've spent years enthusiastically exploring, it really hurts my feelings. we can both be right :/
it just feels so unfair sometimes that i always have to keep thinking like a PR agent to avoid all possible bad-faith interpretations of my words. it's genuinely exhausting and prevents me from sharing a lot of things that i write and immediately save to drafts, just knowing how they would be read uncharitably by some and how they would respond.
there's so much vitriol and i try so hard to not participate or encourage that, but it's difficult when everything gets taken in the worst way possible. there are a lot of ways that i like having the size of audience that i have, i get to meet and talk to and entertain thousands of people, which is amazing, but it comes with so many downsides that sometimes i want to crawl under a rock and disappear.
annnnd that was a lot haha sorry i just. in general i really like this site and i LOVE star wars and the friends i've made in fandom, so i will never leave or stop writing, but there are just a lot of downsides that mean participating on here sometimes really hurts my feelings. when i know people don't care about that or even sometimes want that to happen, it just.. it sucks :/
#anyway it means a lot that you would send me this#thank you!!#sorry for unloading a rant on you lmao

Ask the pack! This is a 2 parter I guess lol
Dose the order at which everyone joined the pack effect anything? Like to me Hyunjin, Changbin and OC should have a very very solid relationship… same with Minho and Han. Was it difficult for anyone to just mesh right in or did everyone feel like missing puzzle pieces?
Also did anyone want to peruse someone and someone else was against it? What is the processing of joining/ being invited to the pack like?
"Yeah, so-" Changbin rubs at the back of his neck, his lips pulling into a slight grimace. "-there were definitely some hiccups along the way."
"That's putting it lightly." You laugh good naturedly.
"Minho-hyung hated your guts for awhile, hyung." Hyunjin points out casually, and Changbin rolls his eyes.
"Minho-hyung hates everyone at first."
"Still do." Minho replies flatly, inspecting his nails, the chipped crimson polish Hyunjin had applied a few days ago already flaking.
"It's not easy joining a pack that's already been established." You go on, ignoring Minho's pointed satire, even as he hides a smirk behind his teeth. "I don't know if I would call what Hyunjin and Changbin had formed a 'pack' perse? Not in the beginning at least, but it was still intimidating to try to find where I fit in their dynamic."
"You mean they were fuck buddies. Idiot fuck buddies who didn't realize they liked each other." Seungmin chimes in now, wicked glee in the depths of his dark eyes. He glances between Hyunjin and Changbin smugly. "It's okay, hyungs, we can't all be pretty and smart."
Hyunjin punches his shoulder.
"It can be scary." Felix nods, looking thoughtful. "I was terrified to meet you all after Minho-hyung mentioned Changbin, but there's also something instinctual-deep inside-that immediately felt like I was in the right place after you all had accepted me."
"Biology." Seungmin says now, having escaped Hyunjin's hold. "Wolves crave companionship and pack dynamics. That's what you were feeling, the call had been answered."
"As far as who joined when and how that affected relationships-" Changbin says with a shrug. "I dunno. We just all kinda merged together and it felt like we'd known each other forever, the time differences didn't matter."
"For awhile though-" You point out, glancing at the other alpha, and then to Jisung, who sits beside him. "-Minho was incredibly protective over Jisungie, even after we'd all become involved. And I think a lot of that had to do with their already previously formed relationship with each other."
"And my shitty past." Jisung shrugs and nods in agreement.
"I think we were all kind of on board pursuing everyone as we met them?" Hyunjin muses, his voice serious. "It's not like we held a vote or anything about any of it, but we all just kind of felt when someone was supposed to be part of the pack?"
"Okay, not true." Jisung interrupts, and Hyunjin shoots him a glare. "I can think of two instances where not all of us agreed on pursuing and courting someone and letting them in."
"Ah, yeah." Seungmin nods now in agreement with the other beta. "Noona hated Chan-hyung for awhile, even though Changbin-hyung was adamant she give him a chance."
"Okay, first off, I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I didn't hate him." You immediately protest glancing at the head alpha, but there's only open amusement on his pretty features.
"You hated him." Jisung quips back with a wicked smirk and finality in his tone.
You sigh heavily, and Chan reaches out to pat your thigh sympathetically.
"And the other?" Jeongin looks curious, and sometimes, you forget he was the last to join the pack, missing some of the early days drama of finding out just how all of you fit together.
"The second was surprisingly Felix." You respond, and the omega looks sufficiently apologetic as you grin at him.
"Sorry guys."
"Don't apologize." Minho snaps, cuffing him playfully on the ear before pulling him into a hug.
"Hyunjin was head over heels the moment they met-which now, makes sense-but Changbin was definitely not as taken so quickly."
"In my defense-" Changbin holds up a finger, giving Felix an apologetic look of his own. "Minho tried to force him on me, and that left a sour taste in my mouth. And then when he immediately suggested Felix be the one to help you through your rut when we got snowed in, well, my alpha didn't take it well."
"Hmmm. Interesting." You muse, biting back a grin now. "Wonder what it feels like to have someone force someone else on you, hm, Binnie?"
You bat your eyes innocently at the other alpha.
Chan laughs, and Changbin glares.
"Okay, okay. Point taken."

tw: hints at underage drinking
Sakusa Kiyoomi would never admit it, but you're his best friend.
When people look at the two of you, he sees the lingering question of "how are they friends?" and he understands, he really does.
He's aware he's not an easy person to get along with: he's prickly and hides in corners and glares at anyone who comes close, but you never seemed to care.
You came along one day, plopping down next to where he was standing (at a secluded corner during a party), turning to look at him and ask, "mind if I sit here?"
And because despite the fact that he doesn't like people in general, he also had his ridiculous pride which made him want to prove to Komori that he could make friends on his own.
So he let you, and the rest was history.
So when he wakes up to his phone vibrating like crazy at 2 am one night and sees that you called him—called him 17 times to be exact—he's never dialed your number so quickly in his life.
"Omi?"
And his heart breaks along with your voice.
"What happened?"
He hears you breath shakily, hears the faint rustling of the sheets as you sit up, and he hears as the tears start falling.
"They broke up with me."
"Oh," is all he can say, because despite the fact that you're falling apart on the other side of the line, he can't help but feel relieved, knowing you will never have to cry over that asshole ever again.
"Yeah," you say. "It's okay. I wasn't what they wanted anyway."
Sakusa wants to correct you, because he knows you're all anyone could ever want: loving, kind, loyal to a fault. Anyone except your ex, apparently. "They must be stupid then."
You giggle, sniffling a bit. "Maybe so."
Silence falls, but Sakusa decides silence is better than your cries. He sits there and wonders how to make you feel better when he's so far away.
"You know what the worst part is?" you ask after blowing your nose. "I can't even call them my ex. We weren't anything ever but it was everything to me. What am I supposed to do with that?
We were close, and for a moment they were almost mine but they gave me absolutely nothing to hold on to."
You're crying again, and Sakusa takes a deep breath. "I don't know," he admits. "I don't know."
-
You wake up to the sound of your phone falling to the floor.
You groan, rubbing your eyes (they sting like hell), and squinting at the clock. 10:47, it blinks back at you.
Your phone is dead, so you plug it in and make your way to the kitchen. The house is dead silent, a good thing because your head is still pounding from last night—how shitty of your ex to break up on you on fucking Christmas of all days.
How in character, you suppose ruefully.
Your memory from last night is hazy; you clutch at your head in pain while you serve yourself a glass of water. You remember arriving, their smile at you as they said, "you look amazing." There were quite a bit of people there last night, someone had offered you a cup of something, and then another, and then another. You remember an image of your ex's eyes hovering over yours, the warmth of their breath fanning over your lips as you lean in and nearly- nearly kiss them.
And you remember hearing them admit to someone that they never cared for you, that it was all a stupid dare and they were getting bored.
Your mind goes back to the four months you spent together, and all the nearly kisses you had.
You gulp down the water, grip tight around the glass. Omi was right, you sigh. How annoying.
Ah shit, Omi.
You dash back to your room where your phone lay abandoned and you huff impatiently as it takes forever to turn on.
You have 3 unread messages from - Omi 🤮
Omi 🤮: Hey are you feeling better?
Omi 🤮: y/n?
Omi 🤮: When you're done moping about that damn fool text me, okay?
You no longer feel bad about making him stay on call with you at that ungodly hour.
You're mean, you respond. Jerk, you add for good measure.
The response is almost immediate.
Omi 🤮: You're alive
Omi 🤮: I was starting to get worried
This boy-
Omi 🤮: How do you feel?
Your angry reply dies as you fall back on your bed with a huff.
you: Like shit
Omi 🤮: Have you eaten?
Your stomach grumbles and you grimace.
you: I'm on it rn i swear
He doesn't respond, so you let your phone plop next to you on the bed. Then it starts ringing.
"You're not 'on it' or anything, you liar."
"Oh my god, what are you a creep"
He chuckles. "Just go get food. You'll feel better."
"Okay, okay, you're so annoying," you put him on speaker once you reach the kitchen.
"You're the annoying one here."
"Whatever," you laugh as the cereal falls into the bowl. "You love me anyway."
"Hmph," is all he says, and you laugh again, imagining him scrunch up his face (like he's constipated, you snort), like he always does when he doesn't want to admit he cares.
"Are you still gonna come?"
"Why wouldn't I?" you ask. "I gotta be there to support my bestie, my bff, my partner in crime-"
"Stop," he groans and you laugh again. "I just figured you'd be too busy moping about that loser."
"I am not moping," your grin falls from your face and he snorts.
"You woke me up at 2 am last night because you were moping."
"I just got my heart broken; jeez Omi, can't you be nice to me for two seconds," you groan. "I was gonna apologize for waking you up but since you're being an ass about it now I won't."
"You love me anyway," he repeats your previous words back to you, and you wish you were there to wipe that stupid smirk off his face.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," you roll your eyes. He hums, and you sigh.
He says nothing else, letting you eat your cereal, a more somber mood settling between you both.
"Thanks," you eventually say. "I mean it."
He hums again.
"Love you." And seeing the 6:34:27 long duration of the call, you know he does too.

"You sure you don't wanna come to the ball?" I asked Mathilda, climbing down the dormitories' stairs.
"No, I'd rather stay..." Her mouth opened in agape when she saw me. "You look... Wow."
"Why, thank you." I replied, walking towards my best friend with a smile. "I'll probably be here before 10:00 pm." I assured her, squeezing her shoulders. "And we can gossip a bit."
"Already looking forward to it." Mathilda patted my hand with a chuckle. "Have fun, will you?"
I nodded and waved her goodbye before leaving the common room.
"Bloody hell, Y/l/n!" George, who as promised, had been waiting for me at the entrance of the dungeons, shamelessly though harmlessly, checked me out. "You clean up nice, huh?"
"Of course I do." I walked to meet him at his spot. "You don't look so bad yourself, Weasley." With his chin up and a proud smile, he offered me his arm, which I gladly took, and we headed off to the Great Hall.
A fairly big crowd had formed at the doors, mostly conformed by people who were waiting for their partner slash group, and some not-so-subtle gossips.
While I intended to go straight into the Hall, George tugged me away from the shortest path, claiming that he wanted to 'have an overall view'.
I reckoned he had something else in mind when we passed by Fred and Angelina, both immersed in their conversation until my friend caught a glimpse of us.
"Damn Y/n!" I held back George, who was playing dumb for some reason, and made my way to the couple. "You look SO good, doesn't she, Fred?" She nudged her partner, giving him a knowing grin.
"I guess you look nice." His nonchalant reply was accompanied with a shrug.
"She looks breathtaking, actually." George's correction left me staring at him speechless. "Just like Angelina."
Oh well. "Yeah" I agreed, clinging onto my partner's forearm, finally getting a vague idea of what was going on —not quite there yet, though. "Angelina, love, you look astonishing, right George?"
"Right." I could see my friend's cheeks reddening ever so slightly whilst making eye contact with George.
"Shall we go in?" I suggested, already heading to the gates.
FRED'S P.O.V
'Breathtaking' was the exact word I was thinking about when Angelina asked me about Y/n, and George knew it.
The girls probably didn't catch how my jaw dropped when I saw her, but my brother did.
He knew it.
"Go with her, yeah?" I requested to Angelina, gesturing at Y/n and at the Great Hall simultaneously. "George, can I have a word with you?"
He nodded and whispered "Go on, ladies." before walking to me. "What is it, Freddie?"
"What's your game?"
"I think I don't follow." The fact that he had the nerve to speak that blantant lie angered me more than I would ever admit.
"Why is she your date?"
"Why is she not your date?" He retorted, triggering a gasp from me, followed by a scoff. "You're not only completely oblivious, you're also a coward."
"Beg your pardon?" Was the only thing I could bring myself to say; I blamed the shock caused by my brother's nonsense.
"AND you stole my date." Oh, so this was about Angelina. "Now if you excuse me," he patted my back a couple times. "I'll go dance all night with MY absolutely breathtaking date."
"Have fun with Slytherin girl, Georgie." I replied, sprinting to reach him. "I'll go dance with our beautiful Angelina."
"Tosser." I could hear him say as I jogged into the Hall to reach the girls.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
READER'S P. O. V.
George probably wasn't the best dancer, but he clearly knew some moves, and made me want to stay on the dancefloor for a good couple of hours, having a great time.
That's one of the reasons why I decided to help him out.
"Oi!" He leaned on and I stood on my tiptoes, holding onto his forearms so I could speak directly into his ear. "Wanna dance with Angelina?"
"Maybe" He slightly pulled away and both our gazes spotted the girl, dancing madly with Fred. "Yeah! Yeah I do!" He shouted so I could hear him over the music, now that we were apart.
"Alright, come!" I tugged his hand and together we narrowed the already short distance between them and us.
The timing was perfect, almost as if it was meant to be like that; the moment we reached them a slow song started to play.
"Angelina, may I steal your date for a dance?" I requested, not waiting for Angelina's nod before letting go of George and tugging Fred's hand. "You can have mine." I spared my friend a teasing smile and a wink while I pulled her date away from George and her.
"Stealing me away, huh?" Once we were far enough, I spun around and held up one of his hands, his left one falling on my waist and my right one on his shoulder. "Eager to be near me again, Y/l/n?"
"So I'm not 'Slytherin girl' anymore?" I raised my eyebrows at him with a smirk on my face as we swayed.
"You heard that?" All from sudden he turned somehow self-conscious.
"This may come as a shock to you," I peeked over his shoulder to check on George and Angelina. "but you two are quite loud."
"I didn't mean it." His word had way more regret than necessary for something as stupid as what he was sort of apologizing for.
"I know." My eyes returned to his just in time for him to made me twirl and pulling me back to him, this time a bit closer than we were before. "Asking Angelina out was a shitty move." I pointed out.
"You won't believe me," he began, "But I completely forgot." I snorted. "I swear!" His eyes widened and both our mouths twisted into an amused smile. "She was near me when Ron asked me who I'd be taking, and I didn't think twice."
A soft, genuine laugh escaped my lips; one which made the boy in front of me smile.
"Is he pissed?"
"Earlier? Very. Now?" I gestured behind Fred, urging him to look at his twin brother, now kissing Angelina. "I don't think so, no."
This time it was his laugh that made a smile tug the corners of my mouth.
"You do look breathtaking." He spoke quietly, almost in a whisper. "Dunno why I didn't tell you earlier."
"Because you're a twit." He chuckled, shaking his head with his eyes fixed on our feet. "You look very handsome, though."
"I am very handsome." He corrected me, looking at me again, now with that damn smug face.
Out of every possible comeback, I chose the one that he expected the least. "Yes, you are." His cheeks turned mildly red and his grin fluttered; I counted it as a win.
"You're beautiful." He returned the compliment, after a moment of silence, to which I responded with a confident 'I know'. "So cocky."
"That makes the two of us." I pointed out.
Silence fell among us again. Comfortable silence, though, one that I could get used to.
Another twirl, another pull to stand even closer.
A small lean was enough for my head to rest against his chest. I blamed tiredness for the need to do that, but I didn't find anything to blame for the way his heart was pounding against his chest, nor for that strange feeling in my stomach.
As soon as he took a deep breath, we both eased into each other's arms, giving up the tension that our bodies had held.
We stayed like that for a while, until I looked around and realized most people had left, George and Angelina included; the dancefloor was now almost empty.
"I don't know what time is it," I spoke, letting my fingertips trace random patterns over his shoulder, dancing down to his chest.
"Me neither" he spoke, making me sway.
"I reckon this is the longest we've been together without jumping down each other's throats." I observed. "And it's probably the longest—"
My words died when, without any kind of warning, his lips landed on mines.
His right hand unconsciously gripped mine for an instant with such force, almost as if it was holding onto it for dear life.
Before I could even think about kissing him back, he retreated back to his previous position, offering me a smile I couldn't decipher accompanied by a wink that made him look relaxed an confident.
All façade, I thought to my self, as he said nothing —no teasing, no cracking jokes; he just kept slowdancing, his hands now more loose, seeming like he was prepared for me to run away; his gaze was also casted down and his cheeks flushing.
I would have teased him if it wasn't for the way I felt my own face burning.
I did let go of his hold, and he subtly stepped back, lowering his arms.
Just like me, he didn't have time to react when I pulled him down, cupping his cheeks for a proper kiss, which he returned instantly.
I felt both his hands on my hips as he leaned on, drawing me against him as close as he possibly could, while my hands left his cheeks to circle his neck.
All of a sudden I remembered that I needed to breath; I broke away, leading my hands to his shoulders, where I could feel how heavy his breathing was.
"What's just happened?" I mumbled, my eyes fluttering open to look into his.
"Dunno." He confessed. "Did you like it?"
"Very much." I replied instinctively, not bothering on thinking it through.
"Wicked." He muttered against my lips before going in for the third kiss, this one more heated.
With a hand on his chest i slightly pushed him away, scanning the place around us before asking, "Wanna go for a walk around the castle?"
"Please." His response was so immediate that we both had to chuckle at it.
"Wicked." I mocked, earning a playful push from him. I my fingers interlaced with his and I led the way.
FRED'S P. O. V.
"Shhh!" I playfully shushed Y/n's giggles, loosely hugging her from behind with my lips pecking her shoulder as we went downstairs in the direction of her House. "You don't want us to get caught, do you?" I let go of her waist just when we found ourselves halfway through the corridor.
"Merlin's beard—" Y/n, who had turned to face me, widened her eyes at the sight of me under the dim lights of the dungeons. "You're a mess." She whispered between quiet laughs, raising her hands up to my face to try and remove some of the lipstick stains she had left all over me.
"Don't you dare laugh, woman." I feigned pain, only making her giggle more. "You made a mess out of me."
She held my chin and moved my face from side to side, checking if she had made it any better. "What am I supposed to do with your neck?" She huffed.
"Place a couple more kisses there?" I suggested with a smirk, fixing her hair as best as I could. "Or a bite, you choose."
"I'm serious." Her thumb gently rubbed the side of my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
"Let them there for people to see." I was joking. My tone was playful. I didn't really mean it.
It was just a joke, right?
Her hands slid down my chest before leaving my body. "I'd rather not to." She replied absent-minded, making me realize that maybe I wasn't joking; maybe I wanted people to see— to know.
She didn't, though.
"Hey, everything's alright?" She questioned, concern making its way to her face when her eyes found mines.
"Of course." I replied— no, I lied. I lied to her and to myself. "Just tired."
"No wonder why." She laughed at her own innuendo, but the only thing she got out of me was an unenthusiastic half smile. "I'm gonna head back now." She added, probably sensing something wasn't right. "Get some sleep."
"I'll go have a shower." I informed her, stepping back in the stairs' direction without breaking eye contact.
"See you in a couple of hours." She responded, mirroring my moves, but towards her common room.
I nodded briefly before heading up to my own House, craving a cold shower to shake her voice off my mind and detach her touch and kisses from my skin.
Hooooh boy👀 okay so if you have a character limit just do Dabi and Shinsou (my absolute favourite boys) but if you don't have a character limit I'd also like Aizawa and Bakugou with a s/o who's very obedient and good for them (and ofc good to them) and they're afraid that they're boring because they don't really break any rules or misbehave. Everybody's on and on abt brats and my obedient subby lil ass is over here like qwq obedient subbies aren't boring😤😤 take your time and don't feel pressured oke?? 💕💕
oh my god i love you, you are so so sweet 💕💕💕 I hope I did this request justice, the implications are just !!! So sweet QuQ
no character limit, so i will do all the bbys 🥰
TW: NSFW, Dom/sub themes, light quirk use for sexy times (shinsou), Daddy kink (for Aizawa, I’m sorry lol), some name calling... I think that’s it! Let me know if I missed anything!
HERES MY TAKE ON SUPER GOOD SUBS AND HOW THE HUBBIES WOULD REACT!
-Dabi-
•Okay okay so we all know Dabi is a HARD dom, he has a LOT of aggression to work through in a healthy way, and you help make that happen!
•You’d worry that Dabi would prefer a “bad girl”, a brat that talked back sometimes so he could punish them and REALLY let all that frustration out!
•Once you talked to him about it he would laugh at you. He’s just mean like that lol. BUT once he calmed down and realized it was something that was actually bothering you he’d just look at you and be like “...really?”
•Because what you HADN’T considered is that Dabi spent so much of his life with absolutely no control over his environment, he lived in constant fear of uncertainty. The only certainty he EVER had at home was pain.
•You provide him with total control. You never talk back, you never question him. You do as you’re told and then you say “Thank you Sir” in your sweet little voice no matter what depraved things he’s made you do for him. The absolute control he has with you makes him feel like he’s on top of the world! And you THANK him for it??? Way to stroke his massive ego while you’re at it, damn.
•You give him the stability he never thought he’d have, and the unconditional love and adoration and worship that he never thought he deserved. To him, you’re perfect. His perfect little angel. He would kill and die for you. He would get drunk off of your submission.
•He’d get bored of a brat pretty quickly, not as much of a power trip in his opinion. XP
•I feel like he doesn’t really go heavy on the praise, but when it DOES happen, when you’re on your knees worshipping his cock and using your talented mouth for what it’s MEANT to be used for, and he’s certain your mouth was meant for this, and he slides a hand into your hair grabbing a handful and tugging while his other hand grasps at any stable piece of furniture for some stability and groans out unfiltered praises in his deep gravelly voice??? It feels like you’re both on cloud nine, and nothing is ever going to tear you down from it.
-Shinsou-
• Shinsou would love his precious little kitty cat and shower you with praise and adoration and gifts to reward you for being so good for him all the time. He is a quiet simp, and will the worship the ground you walk on.
• If you voiced your concern about being boring, he would just smile deviously and then back you up against a wall of your shared apartment and start kissing your neck and saying things like “What do you mean kitty cat, don’t we have fun?” And then he will spend the next few hours reminding you just how much fun you have together~~~
• He would make sure that you never worried about being boring again. He would have a wonderful time making you verbalize all the "fun" things you want him to do to you. The fact that he can make you say all those embarrassing things so easily and make you beg for him without a second thought from you makes him so unbelievably feral. He doesn't even have to use his quirk to make you do anything he wants, which makes him feel like the most powerful man that’s ever lived, although whenever you bat your pretty little eyes at him and beg him to "Pleeeaaaassseeee brainwash me and turn me into your puppet? Pretty please?”. He will melt, and he will HAVE to grant all his perfect little kitten’s wishes.
• The reason he absolutely adores your complete obedience and submission is the undying and unwavering trust you clearly have in him. To do all the things he asks of you, no matter how humiliating, without so much as a single complaint? It makes him lightheaded and he will tell you that there is only one feeling in the world better than that, and thats being in love with you. He’s such a sap.
• It's the trust he gets off on. Even after becoming a pro-hero, the media tends to treat him similarly to Aizawa. They have this sort of “scary vigilanty that barely operates within the law” angle on him, even though he isn’t scary at all, and he’s a wonderful hero. The public tends to like him, but in a wary sort of way. Some people are still afraid to look him in the eyes or respond to him at all. So the trust you openly display is intoxicating to him.
• And of course, as is most important, the fact that you trust him enough that you will use your safe word when you need to, knowing that he will immediately put a stop to whatever is going on and hold you tight and take care of you never fails to warm his heart. He is never disappointed when this happens because it shows just how much you TRUST him to take care of you and not abuse his power.
-Aizawa-
• Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
•Okay so Aizawa is a different beast entirely.
•We all know Aizawa is a Daddy, and he expects his sweet little submissive baby to behave at all times. He’s HAD bratty subs before, and honestly, he finds them tiring. He can and WILL correct misbehaving subs with an iron fist, but over time he’s gotten tired of the whiny “make me”’s and the purposeful breaking of his carefully thought out rules.
•He deals with bratty teens all day, what makes you think he has the patience to deal with another brat at HOME? Nah.
•What he enjoys most about your near worshipful levels of obedience and submission is the level of respect you display to him. How much you truly want to please him and impress him. He finds it equally endearing and entertaining.
• You memorized every single one of his rules, every position, every expectation that he had of you, and you never failed to preform beautifully. He would never expect PERFECTION from a partner, per say, he’s perfectly lenient when and if you make an honest mistake, but he tells you all the time how perfect you are for him. He’ll tell you how much he loves the lengths at which you’ll go to please him.
• This man LIVES to tease you about how obedient you are, almost daring you to step out of line. You never take the bait though, you just get adorably embarrassed and pout at him while he teases you more. “Awe, what is it kitten? You know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d think you like it when I tease you.” as he drags his thumb across your lower lip while it trembles, the deep bass of his voice reverebrating through your skull and turning you to mush.
•He layers the praise on THICK when you’ve earned it. Once he’s had his fun tormenting and teasing and edging you, he will fuck you slowly and deeply, agonizingly, and he will tell you what a good little slut you are for his cock and it’s ages before you realize that he’s prolonging your torture by fucking you this way and saying these things to you. He wants to see how far he can push you before you either break down into a pitiful mess of tears and pleas, or if maybe ther IS a needy little brat in there just waiting to come out. It’s always the former though, and he always loves getting you to that point. You’d do anything for him, and he knows it. He gets just a little high on it.
-Bakugou-
•Mans wrote the BOOK on hero worship, and he expects you to worship.
•Pro-hero Dynamight expects nothing but perfection, and he expects you to measure up. He can tell a brat from a mile away, and I genuinely think he actively avoids them. He’s enough of a brat to for both of you anyway lmao
•I hope you like pain, because he’s the type to inflict it for fun and not just for punishment. A true sadist for the truest masochist.
•If you ever talked to Bakugou about your fear of being boring to him, I really hope you’re prepared for the consequences. “What??? You think if you were just some boring shitty extra that I’d honestly waste any time on you? Do you really think I’m that stupid???” Its all in an attempt to reassure you, but he will spend the rest of the night punishing you for thinking so lowly of yourself.
•No matter HOW good you seem to be, getting a praise out of this man is damn near IMPOSSIBLE, even when he IS pleased with you. Getting him to verbalize anything he’s happy about is a struggle, so you start to look for the subtle signs. You notice his hands trail lightly down your back when you handle the paddle better than the night before. The way he brushes your hair out of your face when he’s roughly fucking into you after a particularly frustrating day of hero work, and you don’t even bat an eye at his brutality. The soft smile you almost miss when you KNOW he’s had a rough day at work and meet him at the door, already on your knees in one of his favorite outfits and with dinner already cooking away on the stove. Sure, he usually cooks, but when all he has to do is come home and have you... He’s damn near ready to propose every time you do it because you are just. So. Good to him. Good for him. And on those days, when you’re both showered and warm in bed and he’s stroking your hair and half asleep, you can hear faint praises fall from his lips. You know he means them everyday, but it’s on these days when his stress is melted away completely by your touch and your love and he’s so filled with contentment and just by being with you that his heart and mind are relaxed enough to let a little vulnerability show. As a treat.
• He never thought he would feel like this about anyone. Never thought that anyone would ever measure up to his impossible standards, but you take all his gruffness in stride and throw it back at him by being warm and loving, following all of his rules, doing everything you can to make him happy, and treating him like a god. He can’t think of anything better than spending the rest of his life with you.
𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄 ❞ ( EREN JAEGER X FEM. READER ) CH 2: SETTLING IN THE NEW REALITY.
𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 ;; Eren is dead, your friends are dead, Annie and Armin are probably starting a new life together, Levi and Mikasa are hiding together somewhere, and you are left alone. Left alone in misery, you try to bring Eren and your friends back to life by abusing the extent of your abilities.
𝗮 / 𝗻 ;; this is inspired by wandavision, some aot manga spoilers, ending is different, eren is crystalized, reader, eren and almost everyone twenty one here.
𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿 ;; reader has abilities like wanda maximoff, you have powers like chaos magic, manga spoilers, don't read if you don't want to be spoiled. Different ending from the manga.
𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞. ;; this fanfic has a different ending from the manga. eren is crystalized in this one, annie and armin are living their lives before their time is up, mikasa and levi are both in hiding and you are left alone. (this is canon-divergence with a little sci-fi in this.) titans are still existent. Everyone is 21 years old. PART ONE here.
"SO WHY'D YOU join the program?" Annie Leonhart, a warrior candidate, finally spoke up after being silent for days.
"I joined due to my father forcing me to. He said that if i didn't, i would disgrace my family." You softly whispered, you didn't know anyone here and was too shy to interact with anyone.
"Oh." The blonde apathetically responded.
"What about you? Why'd you join?" You asked, being curious about the blonde's backstory.
You waited for her answer which took a few minutes for her to respond. She might have dealt with traumatic things, you thought.
"I joined for my father." She said.
"Ah." It was quiet for ten minutes but it wasn't an eerie type of silence. It was more of a comfortable silence than anything.
"My name is Annie. Annie Leonhart." She said, lifting her hand for you to shake. You smiled, immediately shaking her hand. "I'm [Y/N]. [Y/N] [L/N]."
"[L/N]? Like the House of [L/N]?" Annie asked, looking a bit shocked while you just nodded. "So that's why your father expected a lot from you." She lowly said.
"Mhm." There was a comfortable silence between the two of you as you two just sat there.
At least you made a friend, right?
"Y/N? ARE YOU alright?" Your dear boyfriend, Eren asked while you were still on bed due to just waking up. "I'm alright." You responded as you slowly got up.
"Are you sure? You were crying while asleep. Do you wanna talk about it? Armin used to tell me that to feel better, you have to talk it out with the one you love." Eren asked once again, getting worried.
There. Right there. Armin's name was enough to pull your sanity back to reality. A reality where Eren was dead, Jean and Connie are mindless titans, Armin and Annie are building a new life together, Levi is probably in hiding with Mikasa and you were left alone.
You wanted to live in denial. You needed to live in denial. You wished that you were as careless when you were a child. Back when you didn't have anything to worry about. Back with Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt. Back with Porco, Pieck and the others.
You wished that you didn't join the warrior program. You wished you disgraced the family. You wished that you were never experimented on and never get this power.
But at the same time, you wished for a peaceful life with Eren. If you never joined the program, then you would have never met Eren or Annie. Or even your closest friends.
"Y/N?"
Eren's voice brought you back to reality. No, not in reality but the reality you have made. "Hmm?" You hummed as you got out of bed.
As if the earlier scene never happened, Eren grinned and hugged you which surprised you a little bit. "Eren, are you alright?" You asked as he continued hugging you. Softening up, you hugged him back but still wondered why he was hugging you.
"I love you." He softly spoke as he nuzzled his head to your neck. Smiling, you kissed his forehead and responded, "I love you too, darling. But would you mind telling me what is up?"
Eren grumbled, but still responded. "I'm fine."
"Are you sure? Do you wanna talk about it? Armin used to tell me that to feel better, you have to talk it out with your lover." You repeated his words, but due to you rewinding reality, it never happened.
"Its just that. . ." Eren tried to speak up but couldn't find the right words.
"Just what?" You asked him, getting worried.
"I— I don't know. I feel trapped. Like i'm enslaved and stuck. I think something's wrong, [Y/N]." He admitted.
Rewrite.
"Its just that. . ." Eren tried to speak up but couldn't find the right words.
"Just what?" You asked him, getting worried.
"I— I don't know. I'm just worried that once we build a family, i won't be able to give us the things we need." He admitted, sighing in defeat as he laid his head down onto your lap.
You smiled softly and looked at him. "We're not yet married and you're already worrying about that?" You asked sarcastically. I mean, you were right, he hasn't proposed to you yet.
"Well, i know but—" You cut Eren off by kissing him softly. He was surprised but then kissed you back lovingly.
Maybe it's not that bad to stay in denial and live in this fake reality until the final days of your life.
"Your Majesty, there's something wrong in Shiganshina, its urgent!" One of the royal guards yelled as they ran towards the queen. Historia, being oblivious to what was happening then turned around to see five royal guards tired and sweating.
"What? What's wrong?" Historia asked hastily, not knowing why the guards were panting and sweating heavily.
"Its— Its Shiganshina, we can't seem to enter the town and even if we tried, we would get thrown away by an invisible thing! Hitch Dreyse tried to do it but disappeared!" One of the guards explained.
Historia felt nervous. What was she supposed to do? An invisible barrier banishing people out? It seemed ridiculous but she knew that they wouldn't lie to her and so she decided.
"Take me there."
"SO TELL ME, where exactly are you going?" You asked him, helping him tie his hair into a bun.
"I found a job as a doctor near our house and i need money to buy a rin—" Eren stopped himself while you just looked at him curiously.
"Money to buy a what?" You asked him, crossing your arms.
"Money to buy us food, darling!" He immediately answered. "Besides, we wouldn't be able to survive if i don't work. How could we buy the food we need if i don't work?" Eren reasoned.
"Uh, Magic?" You said. Your humor was always shitty but you were somehow saying the truth.
Eren just sighed as he kissed your forehead. "I'm heading to work." He said while you squinted your eyes.
"Alright then. See you, Love you." You said, getting curious about what he was intending to do.
"Love you too! I'll make sure to bring something home!" He lovingly said as he went to his workplace.
That was weird, you thought.
Once you were about to sit down, you heard a knock on the door. You sighed. You're not gonna get a break until the end of the day. Walking to the door, you were shocked to see a certain someone.
"Heya [N/N]!" The woman in your doorstep said.
The woman was Hitch Dreyse.
"So why can't you enter this?" Historia asked as they were all near the town that was isolated.
"Nobody knows. Some say that it had some invisible barrier. Not to mention, all civilians that lives in Shiganshina are also stuck in there." One of the guards said.
"So all civilians that lived here are also stuck in this thing?" Historia asked, feeling dread and sadness. She failed as a Queen. What was she gonna do now?
"Mhm. They are either dead or stuck there. Nobody knows. The only one who entered the town was Hitch Dreyse and none of us have heard of her wellbeing for two weeks." The guard explained.
Historia nodded and told the guard to continue as she tried touching the electrical barrier. The guards noticed and tried to stop her but before they could, she disappeared suddenly.
The guards then immediately freaked out and took out their firearms. "Your highness?!"
None of them knew that their Queen Historia was stuck in a reality that her friend had created.
Hi bitches! What is your favourite way of dealing with rude people in general?
I also had a question regarding a job. I haven't been scheduled in almost 2 months. I have talked to my manager about this and she was very rude and made responded with " I don't like people who call in sick". Sadly, December was a bad month for me medically and I had to call in for almost 95% of my shifts (so like 8). Not only that but we are still in the midst of a global pandemic. If I'm not scheduled again for the next round of schedules, I am going to have to terminate my employment.
There's been many issues with this store in particular and I'm thinking of writing a letter to corporate, the store manager, another manager who likes me and will listen, as well as my crew manager. Would this be a bad idea? I'd be professional and polite while making my concerns noted.
My crew manager has also only been my manager since Christmas day. Which means I only called out for 2 shifts under her management due to my arm being twice the size it should be with hives.
I realize it might not doing anything but I could at least advocate for myself and some of my co-workers (without naming them).
Thank you!
To answer your first question: petty revenge usually does the trick. That or I kill them with kindness.
As to your second question... start looking for a new job immediately. You haven’t been scheduled in two months. Combine that with your manager’s very obvious “fuck you,” and the truth of the situation is that you are no longer employed by this company. The way I interpret this is that they’ve fired you without firing you. Cut your losses and move on immediately. No need to formally quit when they’ve made it plain they can do without you.
As to whether to write those letters to corporate and the store manager... that’s up to you! But write them with the understanding that it’s very unlikely you’ll ever be doing another shift in this store. I hope that means you will feel more free to spill the tea and speak truthfully! But really, I don’t think you have much to gain from writing these letters aside from possibly being reinstated in this shitty job. Find another one, my darling child. You can do better.
Roman had never been so exhausted in his life. His feet were sore, his muscles ached, and there was nothing he wanted more than to collapse into his feather bed and sleep for a day. No wait, a massage from the royal masseuse to ease his muscle tension. No, a massage then sleep for a day.
Yes, that would be the dream.
Unfortunately, Roman’s life had been more akin to a nightmare these past few days. He was a prince, for crying out loud, heir to the throne itself! And now he was being forced to sneak through the woods in the middle of the night like...like some common ruffian!
“You said we’d be reaching real lodgings soon!” he whined. His mother would say that his tone of voice was “unbefitting of a prince,” but he felt that after three days of sleeping rough with no one but his irksome personal knight for company, he was entitled to a bit of complaining. Speaking of his knight...
“We will, highness.” Roman could never figure out how the formal address managed to sound so insulting when Sir Virgil Ellsworth said it. “We should reach it before daybreak, so long as you do not slow us down with any more of your griping.”
Roman made a petulant noise (that his mother would also not have approved of), but Virgil just rolled his eyes and pressed onwards, slipping through the foliage with the ease of a practiced woodsman. Roman stumbled along clumsily behind him, trying to resist the urge to gripe (he was a prince, he did not gripe...he loudly protested) about the terrain.
He managed this for approximately three minutes, which he thought was a rather impressive effort, giving the circumstances.
“If your plan was to hide out at an inn then I don’t see why we had to trek through the undergrowth like this. Would it not have been simpler to take the roads? You do know what roads are, don’t you Sir Ellsworth?”
“You do know what caution is, don’t you highness?” Virgil retorted. “By all means, take the roads, if you want to be caught by the assassins in less than a day.”
Roman opened his mouth to argue back, but Virgil shut him up with a scathing glare.
“I know you’re used to being the one to boss people around, Princey, but we’re not in the palace any longer. It’s my job to keep you alive, and out here, what I say goes. Got that?”
He turned around without waiting for an answer, a breach of protocol that ordinarily would land him in serious trouble, but even Roman had to admit that the systems of etiquette and protocol that he was used to didn’t matter much in the middle of a coup. And as much as Roman had whined and complained (and alright, griped) about their traveling conditions, underneath his brash facade he was just glad that Virgil had remained loyal to him, even after the people who paid his salary had been run through by assassins’ blades.
Not that he’d ever admit that out loud to his knight of course.
“Okay, we’re almost there,” Virgil said, pulling Roman out of his musings. “Keep your head down, and let me do the talking.”
Roman glowered at him, but he pulled the hood of his travelling cloak up to obscure his face and followed Virgil without further complaint. Roman wasn’t sure how Virgil knew where they were, the woods all looked the same to him, but one minute they were surrounded by trees and the next they were stepping onto a dirt road that led into a tiny village. Virgil kept glancing around as they approached a building that Roman would call quaint if he wanted to be kind...ramshackle if he was feeling more irritable, which tonight he was.
“You’re sure this is an inn?”
“What part of keep your voice down is confusing you?” Virgil hissed with perhaps a touch more venom in his voice than was typical, and Roman blinked.
“Okay, okay, sorry,” he muttered, folding his arms with a huff.
Virgil sighed and shook his head, then stepped forward and nudged the door open a crack, peering inside. Apparently satisfied with what he saw, he pushed the door open properly and gestured for Roman to follow him inside.
Roman didn’t have much experience with inns, on the rare occasion that he had to travel his entourage would usually solicit the hospitality of a local noble family, so he had no idea if the cramped space was typical of this more...rustic establishment. Still, the room was cleaner than he’d expected; the stone floor was swept, the worn wooden tables were wiped down, and a pleasant, homey smell wafted through the air. It wasn’t hard to imagine the room full of peasants after a hard day's work, enjoying hearty food and drink to forget their hardships for a few hours.
For now though, the room sat empty, save for one man who was hunched over the fireplace, stirring something in an iron pot. He spun around when he heard the door close behind them, and his eyes widened behind a pair of round glasses.
“Oh! I wasn’t expecting customers this early in the morning, I–”
“Pat, it’s me.”
The man froze.
“Virgil?” he asked, and Virgil nodded. “Oh my– what are you doing here? When I heard about the capital, I was afraid that–”
“I need your help,” Virgil interrupted, and the man nodded.
“Of course, whatever you need!.”
“A room? And off the books, Patton, nobody can know we’re here.”
Patton’s eyes flickered to Roman for a moment before looking back to Virgil with a firm nod.
“Of course, of course. This way.”
He led Virgil and Roman up a staircase and down a hall, ushering them into a room.
“It’s not much, but it’s yours for as long as you need it. And once I’m done opening things up downstairs I’ll come up and bring you some porridge, you kiddos must be hungry.”
“I can pay you,” Virgil began, but Patton shook his head.
“Keep your money. I have a feeling you’ll be needing it more than me anyhow. Just stay safe for me, okay?”
Virgil nodded. “Thank you.”
Patton smiled at him, then with one last glance at Roman, slipped out of the room and back downstairs. Virgil shut the door behind him, then quickly crossed the room and closed the shutters as well, blocking out the first few rays of morning sunlight.
“Okay,” he said, a bit of tension finally leaving his shoulders. “We should be okay to rest here for a bit.
Roman looked around the room, and tried not to grimace. It was tiny, barely big enough to comfortably fit the single bed, wooden chair, and side table. No wardrobe, no desk, no vanity, and no lavatory. Still, at least there was a bed. No matter how lumpy the mattress might be, it was sure to be more comfortable than the forest floor.
“Will this suffice for you, then?” Virgil asked, raising an eyebrow, and Roman sighed.
“It will have to do, I suppose,” he said, and Virgil rolled his eyes.
“It better, because this is the only inn this side of the capital that won’t sell us out at the first flash of some coin.”
“So that innkeeper, you trust him then?”
“With my life,” Virgil responded immediately, and Roman blinked.
“Well alright then,” he muttered. He looked around the room, then frowned as one particular detail stuck out to him. “There’s only one bed.”
“It’s a roadside inn, Princey, it doesn’t exactly have suites.”
“I know, I wasn’t exactly expecting the lap of luxury here, but–”
“Relax,” Virgil interrupted. He pulled off his cloak and bunched it into a ball before stretching out on the floor and stuffing it under his head. “I’m all good, see? No need to worry about sharing your bed with the measly common folk.”
“I’m aware you’re making fun of me,” Roman grumbled, and Virgil laughed.
“Good, I’d be worried if that was lost on you.”
“You think just because the world is collapsing around us that you can mistreat me so? I am still your prince.”
Virgil gave him an unimpressed look, and Roman swallowed, suddenly cognizant of the fact that the only reason he was still alive was because of Virgil’s interference. He’d taken it for granted, Virgil was his knight, after all, it was his job to protect him, but when the rest of the palace had fallen, there would have been nothing stopping Virgil from giving Roman up to save his own skin. Instead, Virgil had taken him to safety, and Roman felt his face warm in shame.
“I apologize,” he said quietly, looking down. “That was...not a very chivalrous remark. I do recognize that it is only because of you that I am even alive, let alone a prince, and...I am grateful for that.”
He glanced up, just in time to see a strange expression flicker across Virgil’s face for just a moment before his familiar smirk was back.
“Alright, Princey, don’t get sappy on me now,” he said, and Roman let himself smirk back.
“Just covering my bases here, I can’t exactly have rumors start spreading that the prince of the land doesn’t appreciate when someone saves his life.”
“Go to sleep, highness, your precious reputation is safe with me,” Virgil snickered, closing his eyes.
Roman chuckled, but as he lay back on the lumpy mattress, he didn’t miss the way Virgil’s hand drifted to rest on the hilt of his sword, or how he adjusted his position so that his body lay across the doorframe, one final barrier between Roman and any threat that might dare to enter.
“Yeah, yeah,” he said, letting his own eyes slip closed. “I know I’m safe with you.”
I know you don't like Chloe Price anymore. But since you like to change things about your favorite things like Star Wars, DC, Marvel and Horror, how would you change how DONTNOD/Deck Nine handled Chloe?
A lot. I will start with BTS and then LIS. But to be fair, I’ve grown to like Chloe again. My big problem is how she treats Max, the fact that we cannot choose who Max focuses on(again I’d choose Warren and Kate if I could) and well the hateful and toxic Pricefield fans ruined Chloe for me. But here’s how I would change Chloe if I could
BTS
First of all, hire someone who actually understands how teenagers talk(especially teenage girls) and make the dialogue less cringey(this goes for both games)
Give Chloe more of a character arc. I don’t feel that Deck Nine did Chloe justice. The writers attempt to evoke empathy with Chloe feeling grief which is done via exactly one emotion- which is a very childish understanding of how loss and coping works. She had no character arc, considering she was the exact same character that we already knew in LiS Episode 1 (A bitter disaffected teenage youth with no regard for authority) so we didn’t get to see Chloe evolve into the character we loved in the first game. She just already was it. The gameplay undid the narrative we were given about Chloe being a loner in that you can talk to and make friends with pretty much anybody and they all acted like they liked and were genuinely happy to see Chloe. Very rarely were there interactions with Blackwell students that ended with Chloe’s presence not being welcomed, only Wells, Victoria and Nathan showed contempt for Chloe(even with Nathan that goes away when he claps for her at the play) The reason this is done is because the game wouldn’t be fun if Chloe actually was a loner. The core mechanic of Life is Strange is being able to talk to people and experiment with your surroundings. A game where nobody wanted to talk to Chloe works against the core mechanic. But in making her the main character it undoes the weight of the narrative of Chloe being alone until Rachel/Max. I just strongly feel that Deck Nine did not understand Chloe as a character and did not do her justice. We should’ve gotten Chloe at her lowest, evolving from Max’s best friend to the character we know in the first game and Rachel helping lift Chloe through the worse point of her life. Chloe and Rachel together having fun rocking out and Chloe starting to live again and show that Chloe Price loves Rachel Amber and Rachel loves Chloe. Chloe losing Rachel and showing how Chloe has to deal with Rachel missing, how she became in debt to Frank and how she got involved with Nathan and how Chloe ends up in the bathroom.
The game should have 5 episodes. The first 2 episodes focus on Chloe and Rachel’s first year together. Episode 3 focuses on 2011. 4 focuses on 2012 and the final episode focuses on 2013 and Chloe’s breakdown over Rachel’s disappearance. A bonus episode “Firewalk with me” to show us Rachel’s final days and the choices that led her to the Dark Room. Needless to say, those fans who were against LIS 2 would have something to look forward to cause Deck Nine would take their time with BTS in this scenario.
Make it very clear that David is abusive. The problem with their dynamic in BTS is that they go out of their way to make Chloe irrational for not giving David a chance. In BTS Chloe says she hates David because he calls her “girly” and the game practically implies Chloe is at fault for the conflict between Chloe and David for not accepting David’s photo...what kind of abuse apologetic bullshit is that? Okay so start off by saying in her journal that “Joyce really remarried the first asshole she saw in Two Whales.” because by the time of 2010 in the canon of the first game, they are already married. Have it implied in her entry about David that it’s like “living Full Metal Jacket” that alone implies emotional and mental abuse if you’ve seen the Bootcamp scenes. Chloe in the entry would continue to say, life’s been a living hell ever since David entered the picture and Joyce takes his side every time. We would get the impression that David does not understand nor does he care about Chloe's depression and grief for losing William and Max moving away. When fighting with Joyce about David, say “he keeps hitting me and you keep defending him, how do you expect me to get over dad by letting some abusive asshole take his place?” Joyce would respond with “you keep pushing him, what did you think was gonna happen” And worse, David just started the Security Officer job at Blackwell. Needless to say Chloe is not taking any of this well. So when David and Chloe go to Blackhell, he’s basically ordering her around, talking down to her. Telling her “You’ve had two years free of having a father figure in your life. I am your father now. I’ve been showing you what a stable home is like, yet you keep pushing me.” Chloe back talks him and it results in David smacking her. David would then say “Look what you made me do.” Later in the game, Chloe would get herself expelled just to get away from David and David would berate her and call her a loser. Near the end of Episode 3 or 4, Rachel would have dinner with Chloe, Joyce and David. Rachel would see the way David treats Chloe and stands up for her girlfriend. Threatens to call the cops on David if he ever hurts her girlfriend ever again. This of course would spark down David’s obsession with surveillance and his investigation into stalking Rachel, all because he wanted to save his pathetic fucking ass.
Actually give Chloe a transformation. The problem with BTS, is that Chloe is the same character from the first game. We don’t get to see how the innocent and happy Chloe becomes the Chloe from the first game. She’s just like this immediately. We should get a Batman Returns Catwoman like transformation for Chloe. Chloe’s had it with David, Joyce, Blackhell and now Rachel for leaving. So Chloe would basically be destroying her room and tossing everything away that belonged to the old Chloe.
Make the game about Rachel helping Chloe down the worst moment of her life. Chloe’s “Rachel was my angel” comment showed a lot to how Chloe loved Rachel and how much she meant to her. Chloe tells Max that Rachel entered her life when was at her absolute lowest and that it was she who helped her deal with the grief of having lost her father but the entire game is centered around Chloe being the one who is supporting Rachel as she deals with a serious family drama of her own. What Before The Storm should have been. Rachel helping lift Chloe through the worse point of her life. If Rachel had stopped Chloe from committing suicide… as was the commonly believed interpretation to what happened between Chloe and Rachel up until BtS, then Chloe’s ”“she was my angel” would have meant it was truly special and real. But instead they bump into each other at an illegal concert and Rachel distracted some thug who works for Damon and we spend the game finding out who Sera is in a reveal we all saw it coming and only to have Rachel taken out of the third episode where Rachel never talks to her and makes the whole thing feel pointless. What the game should have been was Chloe and Rachel together having fun rocking out, becoming girlfriends and Chloe starting to live again and show that Chloe Price loves Rachel Amber and Rachel loves Chloe.
Do Chloe’s past with Victoria better. A minor change, but they kind of make Chloe and Rachel look like jerks in the Victoria drugging in part 2. If you let Rachel drop out the play, you drug Victoria or back talk her out of doing the play that she was given. Also it lines up with the first game better this way. In LIS, if you choose to take the picture with Victoria in paint, when seeing said picture, Chloe will say “Boo-Yah skank! Karma’s a bitch!” So I guess we can have Victoria bullying Chloe with her mean girl bullshit, Chloe fights back, Victoria gets scared, so Victoria helps get Chloe expelled by reporting her graffiti(as is the reason she was expelled from Blackwell)
When Rachel goes missing, we spend the final episode looking for her. It’s a very sad and tragic episode. We all know there is no hope in finding Rachel, but we still try anyway, in some hope that Rachel is still out there. So Chloe leaves up the posters, is in debt to Frank and tries to steal money from Nathan. Which leads Chloe to that faithful day in the bathroom.
LIS
Chloe does not park in the handicapped space(I don’t even have to tell you why this was a bad idea to begin with)
Chloe stops guilt tripping Max after the first truck ride
If you chose not to come out of the closet or not take the blame, after lashing out at Max, Chloe will apologize for lashing out at us. Same for if we chose not to fire the gun.
Does not get pissy if we take Kate’s call, in fact prior to Chloe’s test, Max would explain the situation with Kate and Chloe would be understanding as she understands being depressed herself and would even help Max out in finding evidence to implicate Nathan and David.
It’s not the handicapped fund, it’s the “Prescott Donation”(aka Sean’s bribery money) this way we can feel less guilty about not stealing from the handicapped fund and Chloe doesn’t look like an ableist
If Chloe does snap after finding about Rachel and says the same things she did about Kate as she did in canon. Max can then lose her shit and stand up to Chloe. Basically says the way she treats her is not okay and if she wants to help her find Rachel and seek justice for Kate, then things are gonna have to change or they are finished. Then Max leaves Chloe behind with Chloe realizing that she needs to change. Ideally something like Bojack Horseman “You can't keep doing this! You can't keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself as if that makes it okay! You need to be better! Chloe, stop. It's not alcohol, drugs, or your parents, David, Rachel or all the bad things that happened to you before. It's you. It's you. I want to find Rachel and get justice for Kate, but if this is how you’re gonna keep treating me...Fuck, man... What else is there to say?“ I know LIS came out way before BJHM or that particular episode, but it’s the perfect example of how Max could’ve stood up to Chloe’s toxic behavior
After the returning from her time jump, Max returns to her dorm and goes to Chloe. Chloe properly apologizes for how she’s been acting since they got back together and agree to put everything in the past so they can work together to find Rachel and give Kate justice
Max is given the option to enter the Everyday Hero’s Contest. If you saved Kate, Max with Kate’s permission, Kate would let Max take a photo of her in the hospital. And Max enters her photo at the last minute when she returns to Blackwell. If you did not save Kate, then Chloe would give up the Butterfly photo so Max can enter the photo. Either way Max will win the contest. Max wins the Everyday Hero Contest. Max gives an inspiring speech about how everyone can be a hero and that Kate has always inspired her, how much she loves Kate and that she hopes that Kate knows that she is loved by everyone in Blackwell and everyone, especially Chloe, Warren, Victoria would cheer Max on. This would also give Jefferson the means and opportunity to drug Max without killing Chloe at the Junkyard. Chloe doesn’t die because it’s a public place and Jefferson has Max where he wants her. It honestly works better than Jefferson magically appearing at the Junkyard with no explanation(and it never being brought up).
What could happen in Episode 5 is basically the same thing, only in an act of desperation, Chloe goes to David to help save Max. They put their differences aside to save the person Chloe loves the most and David gets to stop Jefferson. Chloe could not be there to save Rachel, but she can be there for Max. Chloe saves Max and Jefferson goes to jail. Together Max and Chloe goes directly into the eye of the storm to save everyone at the diner. However instead of using Warren’s photo to save Chloe, Max uses it to warn David about Jefferson and to reach the Lighthouse. The same choice is given to us and instead of a copout ending, Max actually uses the photo to save Chloe and the town. Warns David and David barges in and catches Nathan redhanded with the gun and uncovers the truth of Rachel, Kate and Jefferson. Max warns the town of the storm. Everyone listens. After Jefferson’s arrest, the police clears the bunker of Jefferson’s predatory display and the town hides in the bunker. The town is rebuilt. A town can be rebuilt, but you can’t build another Chloe. Jefferson and Sean are rotting in prison and Nathan is getting the help he desperately needed. Chloe finally moves on from her hatred of David and the Price family gets to start over. A montage of Max and Chloe together either romantic or platonic and if you chose to romance Warren, a little clip of Going Ape, if just friends, then we see Warren, Kate, Max and Chloe Going Ape! It ends on Rachel’s funeral and the final scene shows the Doe spirit as both Max and Chloe smile as Rachel’s spirit finally rests.
Chloe’s arc is lashing out at a cruel world, learning to let the right people in, healing and letting go of her hate and starting over. It just doesn’t work if she has to die to actually learn this and also that character arc goes out the window of you choose the save Chloe ending (and makes max look like an awful person for killing all her friends and Joyce). Chloe gets to live, she’s at peace knowing that Rachel was brought to justice, she’s willing to start over with David, she has her best friend and mother in her life. If you chose the Pricefield route, then Chloe is at peace with Rachel passing on and she starts anew with Max. If not, then Chloe still has her best friend and knows she will always be there and she will always be there for Max in return.
Also, I like the idea of Max and Chloe road tripping together as was demonstrated in LIS 2, but I also like the idea of Warren, Victoria and Kate joining them as well and they live in their own commune. Maybe Max, Warren and Chloe are in a poly relationship, while Kate and Victoria are together!!!
Part 9
The before mentioned Bakugou Katsuki is glaring down at me with a smirk on his face and the journal held out of my reach. "I'll have you know I didnt steal it I was given it to borrow." I huffed out. I the reached for the notebook only for him to yank it farther back. "Really now?" He said with that stupid look on his face. "Yes. Look I know your just trying to protect your friends stuff but-"
I was cut off by him growling and then him throwing the journal back at me, which I luckily caught before it wacked me in the face. "As if I'd protect anything for that shitty nerd." Wow that was a big change of attitude. "Well anyway Midoriya lent his journal for me to read." He scoffed. "Of course that peice of shit would give up anything for a pretty face." He shoved his hands in his pockets and slouched down in his seat. Despite my better judgement I decided to tease him a bit. "Wow, you think I'm pretty? Thanks!" I then look over and gave him a sly smile. He whipped his head around so fast and started raising his voice. "I was insulting Deku not giving out a compliment!" I could see the steam coming out of his ears which gave me a bit of a laugh which in turn caused him to start throwing out more curses.
I dont know how but we eventually came to a silence. I was continuing to read Midoriya's journal while Bakugou listened to his music. I began to turn the page and was met by a full two page spread on the very angry pomeranian that was beside me. I turn over the page and the information went over the page behind it. "What the hell?" The journal was once again snatched from me by the blonde. "Stop doing that!" I quickly grabbed the book from him before he could move it. He was about to say something but I spoke before he could. "If you wanna see just ask." I scoot over closer to him and place the journal in between us. He muttered something but I couldn't quite pick up on that it was. He began to learn over a bit to see the contents of the page. "Wow. He has a lot of information on you I think you might already have a fan." I said trying to get rid of the awkward tension but it was only met with anger. "More like a stalker why the hell would he need to analyze practically everything about me." He said in more of a demanding tone rather than an actual question. "Well hey if it makes you feel better you have one more page than All Might!" I flipped over the page to show him the rest of the information. "Well obviously, even a shitty nerd can tell I'm gonna surpass All Might!" I slightly winced at his loud tone. "Hey look I know your whole thing is being angry but can you tone down the yelling a bit?" He let out a scoff at me ,but he stopped yelling so that's kind of a win, "Midoriya realty likes you."
"Pfft yeah right he's just trying to find my weakness. Nosy piece of shit." Damn, I thought since they were childhood friends that they would at the very least be compatible but it just seems this is a relationship of the push over and the pusher. If that is even a thing. "So are you guys not childhood friends or..?" I left my sentence for him to answer but he just glared down at the pages of the paper. After an awkward amount of silence her finally let out a rushed response. "We just happened to be neighbors so we were always around each other. I would've never associate with him otherwise." With that he leaned back into his seat and shoved his headphones back into his ears. Well I guess that means the conversation is over now. I follow in leaning back into my seat and I decide to put up the notebook in favor of getting a quick amount of shut eye before having to rant to Tomura about my day and such.
.
.
.
Bakugou POV
I decide to shove my headphones into my ears to get out of the conversation with the girl seated next to me. I'll be honest that question. Whether or not me and Deku were friends got me thinking. Were we ever really friends? I mean we hung out a lot but that was more out of convenience than actual friendship. I positive that if we weren't so close by to one another we would have never even spoke to one another. Then again isn't that how young brats make friends? Or am I missing something? Fuck I hate this. That shitty extra really got me thinking about pointless shit.
I look over to the girl and notice her drifting off to sleep. "Hey if you even think about laying your head on me I'll blow your ass sky high got it?" That seemed to get her attention. "As if, you probably would be the worst person to lay on." She responded with venom evident in her voice. Well shit. Didn't know someone like her could have a attitude like that. Kinda funny seeing a innocent looking girl get so angry. I must have not been able to contain my laughter cause she glared daggers at me and scooted farther from me before slightly going into herself to find a nicer position to rest. So she definitely is grumpy when it comes to sleep. Then again who isn't
I started thinking back to what is gonna happen when I get back home. Me and the old hag didn't really leave on the best terms. I began to remember that morning and slightly cringed at the memory. I woke up very aggravated the fact Deku made it into UA still fresh in my mind. By the time I made it downstairs ready to leave I almost made it out the door without the old hag catching me. Almost. "Katsuki!" Fuck. Part of me wanted to leave and pretend I didn't hear her but my old man decided for me with a. "Just go and do it before she runs after you." I let out a slight groan but walked into the kitchen where she called me from. "Yeah what is it?"
"Don't you mean 'yes ma'am' brat?" I rolled my eyes punctuated with a groan. "Look I got to get going if I wanna get to school on time."
"You can catch the next train if I keep you to long but it won't even take five minuets if you cooperate." I look over to the clock on the stove and began to do the quick math of when I'll get to the train. "Uhgg, fine what do you need." She gave me one of her strained smiles. "Great to see you cooperating! For once..." She slightly muttered that last part. Yeah lets just day the rest went downhill... Fast. Apparently she wanted to make some type of sweet bullshit but she was having trouble so decided to employ her son. The rest was just yelling and bickering, which not only resulted in me storming out but also me running late and having to catch the later train. Then the fight with Deku I guess seeing that journal just made me snap slightly. My thought process was immediately interrupted by a sudden weight on my shoulder. I practically whipped my head around to be met with a head of H/C hair.
