Love and Deepspace Timeline: MC, Philos, and the Aether Core

Look I finished Xav's myths card. I don't regret waiting until I was done with it to post his timeline because the last two nodes have more to do with MC than him, but I am in a state so we are making this to cope.

This is all speculation and should not be taken as fact, I have done two other posts, one on Zayne and one on Xavier and I will not be doing one on Rafayel please see this reddit post by u/joonmin for relevant information about his myths card blah blah blah.

This post is less of a timeline and more here to answer questions you very likely have if you: A) decided to browse reddit and saw people saying Xavier feels like the "cannon ro" [this is a gacha game there isn't one] but have never read any of his memories, moments, or dates B) read chapter 8 and went "none of this makes sense I feel like I am missing something" or C) just generally are confused about L&D's world building and what's up with MC. I have answers for you. Wibbly wobbly soupy answers. This post also has a TL;DR in case you don't want to see me break out the string board and just want the relevant bits of information about MC you won't get from the msq.

SPOILERS FOR ALL IN GAME CONTENT UP TO CHAPTER 8, VARIOUS MOMENTS, AND ANECDOTES RELATED TO ALL 3 ROS, PROCEED WITH CARE.

Current Timeline MC (i.e. The one we are playing as)

The game starts with MC's graduation from the Academy and first day as a fully licensed hunter. We learn a few things in this first chapter, namely that MC is combat trained, has a rare heart condition known as Protocore Syndrome that has no known cure, and that her decision to become a hunter has something to do with what she experienced fourteen years ago during the Catastrophe when the Deepspace Tunnel opened and Wanderers started invading earth.

Specifically MC describes something burrowing itself into her heart. She feels helpless, like prey, and has a strong desire to never feel anything like this again. Which is unfortunate because I have a feeling a lot of someones are going to be on her trail sooner rather than later.

In Chapter 5 it is revealed that MC has an Aether core fused to her heart. This sort of human experimentation is highly illegal and it is unknown who did this to MC other than our beloved Grandmother was directly involved. Grandma appears to have taken MC away from wherever this happened after the tests started to threaten MC's life.

This is known to Dr. Zayne and Dr. Noah, though neither seem to know more than what Grandma told them. Neither of them seem to fully understand what an Aether core is or what it is doing to MC's heart. Zayne in particular seems to find this extremely concerning.

Uncovering the mystery of the Aether core seems to be what will be driving the first arc so we will not be discussing it at length here. I do want to note that Xavier absolutely knows what it is, while Zayne does not but does seem to know more of the technical aspects of how it is effecting MC, and Rafayel is at least aware of it being valuable and maybe why exactly the people in the N109 Zone want it.

At some point in the past MC met and made a promise to Rafayel. It is my personal theory that this likely took place on Hat Island during the field trip MC talks about due to some of the comments made in Chapter 7.

MC and Caleb were friends with Zayne in childhood. MC's exact age is a bit fuzzy, but the game does seem to suggest she is younger than Zayne. She does not know why Zayne disappeared from her life or what led him to become a doctor.

Comments in Chapter 4 suggests that Caleb encouraged MC to become a hunter. He seems to be very supportive of her, but Grandma seems more interested in trusting MC's protection to Zayne.

On the surface MC seems pretty normal. Her memories from before the Catastrophe seem to be gone, if she had a mother and father or other blood relatives, she doesn't remember them anymore.

Philos MC (i.e. What is Going on in the Myths)

It is revealed in Xavier's When Shooting Stars Fall anecdote that Philos is Earth in the distant future. This has confused numerous people in the notes of my Xav's timeline so I am going to be insufferable and attempt to assist with a graph:

The MC you play belongs to the game timeline, the MCs (plural each myths card features a different one) in the Myths cards come from the Philos timeline. I have tagged the Game timeline as a "potential tangent" as the events that take place in game are entirely reliant on the existence of the Deepspace Tunnel, which is created in the Philos timeline.

At some point in the Original/Philos Timeline, Earth's core ceases to function. Humanity replaces it with a new, artificial core that causes noticeable weather changes and fuses all of the tectonic plates together, and begins a new calendar counting forward from the years since Earth ceased to be and Philos was born. As a result, we don't know what exact year Earth's core giving out happened in the Original Timeline. The artificial core allows almost all humans to "live eternal." They seem to be like Tolkien's elves in the sense they can live for an eternity but they start to get tired after a while and give up on life. This is why there is a royal family that needs a line of succession. Xavier is the Crown Prince of Philos, he meets MC in school and learns she has a rare disease called Protocore Syndrome which will not allow her to live forever. He attempts to cure this by finding a specific protocore she mentions, but fails to reach her in time and is forced to watch her die. This all happens in the year 214.

At some point MC is reborn and assigned to the same teacher as Xavier. She is to train to become his knight and serve as the leader of the Lightseekers, an order tasked with killing Wanderers. At some point during or before Xavier's coming of age ceremony, he learns the truth about Philos: the planet is dying due to the artificial core never having been meant to sustain the planet this long. The Royal Family's solution for this is to occasionally feed humans to the heart of Philos in Starfall Forest. When they do this, it creates Wanderers. As if that wasn't bad enough, Xavier learns that his father and the royal family have found what they think could be a permanent solution: there is a girl who has achieved true immortality. She is the only person on Philos who can die and be reborn constantly, and while they don't seem to know why she does this, the royal family believes this girl is the life force of the planet itself.

This girl is MC and Xavier does not want this to happen. He has a plan that he does not explain to MC, but it involves traveling back in time. He says they have specific places in time picked out, but we know from Xavier's Passing By anecdote that something went wrong with his team's attempt at time travel and now there is no guarantee that the MC he left on Philos as its Queen is still there.

So now we have two timelines: Original/Philos Timeline and Game/Tangent Timeline. But all of that is just taking Xavier's anecdotes and Myths card into account... so what happens if we try to plug in the other two ROs?

Rafayel

In u/Joonmin's reddit post they mention two very important bits of information: 1) It has been 30,000 years since the sea dried up and 2) MC is a member of the royal family of Philos, not by birth but because "she has a heart that’s been blessed by the gods" and has "awoken from the depths." If all three myths cards take place in the same Philos timeline as the one Xavier leaves, we can reasonably place Raf's myths card after Xavier's backtrack mission.

So the Philos timeline would look like this. I have a note for Zayne's card there as well, but if I had to get picky with it I'm slightly tempted to place his Myths card between MC's first death and her being reborn to meet Xavier again. The other explanation would be that there are three separate Philos timelines created because the MC was successfully scarified to the Heart of Philos. In Xavier's Myths 6 MC briefly takes a dip in the space time anomaly at the center of Starfall Forest which could also explain MC scattering across different timelines, but the in game spacepedia makes a point to say that there is a chance that life still exists on Philos:

So it could simply be that MC over there has been stuck in the exact cycle of death and rebirth that Xavier was trying to prevent. It could also mean that when they add that mystery fourth love interest there is an explanation for a fourth possible myths card. Anyway all this information leaves us with a set of timelines that currently look like this:

This still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. For example, if the Philos timeline is where this all starts, what version of it is? What caused Earth's core to give out in that original timeline? Is Rafayel and Lumeria's existence the consequences of clashing timelines or are mermaids cannon to this universe? What effect on the space time continuum did Xavier's actions have? And how much of this is actually going to be answered in game?

TL;DR

Philos is Earth in the future with an artificial core that started running out of power, and never should have been made in the first place.

The royal family fed some of their long lived humans to the anomaly in Starfall forest to keep the planet running, but then they found out about a girl who could constantly be reborn each time she died and had an idea.

An idea Xavier wasn't very keen on but who cares. They thought that "when the time was right" they would sacrifice her to the rift and leave her there to die and be reborn forever. They also did not think to ask her.

Oh yeah when they fed people to the rift they turned into Wanderers. So wanderers = people as mentioned in Zayne's Still in the Dark anecdote.

Whatever makes MC reincarnate might have something to do with Lumeria, or at the very least the Lumerians in Rafayel's myths card seem to think it does.

In game MC, current timeline MC knows none of this, and has no memories from her lives, past or future. This is consistent across all her incarnations.

Final Thoughts

The only reason why I think this way about timelines is because I watched Donnie Darko in a college theater class. People like to argue about that movie and how it is supposed to be interpreted, but generally speaking they all seem to think that Tangent Timelines and the Tangent Universes they spawn get deleted very quickly, so maybe that's why the game starts by talking about "being able to leave this loop" and why Xavier seems to think something bad will be happening to Linkon City soon.

Chapter 8 ends with Xavier attempting to send a message back through the Deepspace Tunnel to make contact with someone. Interestingly enough he calls this "Traceback II." This sounded familiar to me and sure enough the game starts by mentioning that exact same thing, it is going past a black hole and is what says that line "we are stuck in this loop."

I thought in previous posts that the Aether Core is what could cure MC... but now I think the Aether Core is likely what Philos's artificial core is called... so who created it in the first place? ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ)

The Deepspace Tunnel is a spacetime anomaly likely caused by Philos's existence since it was "never meant to exist." So why was it created? And by who?

yessss i am extremely partial to one eddie diaz. i write buck and eddie perspective somewhat? evenly?? i would have to check the stats to be sure, but it's not thaaat skewed. however. whenever i am writing buck perspective a part of me is hanging my head sad charlie brown-style, bc i am not writing eddie diaz. i don't know why exactly, beyond just that eddie's specific cocktail of issues r really compelling to me - i like, for example, stories that do a little bit of reckoning with the Being Gay Of It All, which is very much eddie's domain. i like his emotional problems. i like how tightly wound and deeply repressed he is. he's just interesting and fun to me!!!

23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?

this is so fun... i don't write a lot of AUs and i don't write a lot of traditionally super trope-y stuff, i think? for buddie specifically i have a 'buck and eddie meet earlier' fic that i've been thinking about in the back of my mind for a looong time, where buck and eddie meet in season 1 and have a relationship that is essentially buck's equivalent of the abby relationship, in the sense that it's his first serious relationship, he really throws himself into it and tries to take on everything, and it ends kind of badly - and they break up, eddie starts working at the 118, and they become friends anyway without anyone really knowing that they'd been thru this together. and then of course eventually they get together again, but not until literal years have passed!! that would be my version of an alt first meeting that i would write if i ever had the time!!

4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?

this question is so hard :0 i'm making it simple and saying something from my newest fic, problem solving - this isn't a particularly subtle detail, but i had sooo much fun trying to make it feel a little bit like the s2e1 gym fight in this fic. i feel like there's something i'm forgetting, but putting eddie in the black tank top and having buck's freakout be 'you can't just say that' ala 'you're not supposed to just walk in... there's meant to be a getting to know u period' blah blah blah whatever he says. i loveeee buck having these super engrained ideas of what Should be happening and freaking the fuck out when something outside of that track starts going down - even when it is, objectively, a positive thing 4 him!!

hiiiii!!! long time no talkkkkk my lovlies (＞ω＜)♡

first off-- an apology :(( im really sorry for just disappearing. i hate it, you guys hate it. i know :( it's really my worst flaw when it comes to writing / tumblr in general, haha~ i get rlly into something and hyperfixate on it (fun fact: bound by blood was written in like 3 days bc i got so into it lol), and then a gradual fallout until i feel burnt out. which then leads to the whole "omg i left for so long, now im anxious that everyone is gonna hate me when i come back and cause i haven't updated in so long and yadda yadda" when i actually want to come back LMAOOOO. which i know isn't true, but like, you know AKSNDK. So i hung out on my anime blog for a bit, then on discord, blah blah blah boring stuff!!

either way, i really am sorry for just dipping for so long. i always came back to check on this blog every once and awhile and to read stories. i really love the little community i built over here and i love all of you guys dearly. you really make this blog such a fun and enjoyable space for me so i hope you accept my apology and we can all still be fun and hang out and stuff <33 i missed you guys dearly.

I am back!! I was planning to come back for kinktober, actually, but unfortunately time just got away from me and I wasn't able to complete everything that I wanted to. This semester has been HECTIC!!! Senior thesis's are no joke, man, no joke. Feeding 600 spiders... every week.... BLEH!! (not cause of the spiders aksjhwfkh just cause it takes so long!! like!!)

That being said-- I don't have a current update schedule yet, just because I don't want to put too much pressure on myself again (burnout is a bitch!!) but~~ as of right now, I have plans for a "full comeback" (read: first fic) to come out the first week of November!! A little teaser of it will be at the bottom of this post too <33

Hopefully, if everything goes according to plan I will have a 'ficvember' (lol), where I post a fic every other week of November and December!! It is not set in stone (read as: I want to have a few fics lined up before I start just so I don't feel overwhelmed) but if everything goes according to plan, it will happen!! I'll make sure of it!!

I also plan to have a follower milestone soon, so stay tuned for an announcement post of that. I have lots of different things I want to do for it, I'm just not fully sure what you guys would like to see! I also updated my wips, so feel free to check them out to see what i've been working on!

Okay so Casey Marie's muscles are something I'm never going to get over. SHE LOOKS GOOD!!!!! Her getup is feeling a little too reminiscent of a cape-wielding superhero for my tastes to be honest - I really loved the more practical outfits she wore in TLR Lost Years, especially in issue 4 when she was running the training mission for the kids. But ah well, I'm sure this will grow on me. FINAL THOUGHTS:

dude that first issue was wordy but the kids were ON POINT. they were so fun!! their dialogue is fun and they kick ass.

i loved yi announcing the punishment for casey while the others were like NOO SHE DIDNT MEAN THAT DONT LISTEN TO HER. we're getting more of their personalities and it's great!! it was a nice throwback to issue 2 of lost years when they were cleaning - yi refused to help because of how strictly she was following instructions. im picking up that she might be neurodivergent but i did get that from the lost years too - only doing things within strict instructions, getting frustrated at teaching odyn chess, not because of him playing horseys with the knights but that it was Against The Rules Of Chess - and now not picking up on some social cues. It's nice to see!! I love her very much, but it feels like besides rehashing the origin story she took a bit of a backseat to the other three.

i want to know more about why uno said being a rebel was moja's 'thing', since she didn't seem to be any more rebellious than the other three in this issue. we didn't get any unique interactions between her and casey marie which is what i felt was lacking from lost years but i wonder if this is hinting towards a more turbulent mother-daughter dynamic with them... I REALLY HOPE SO!! her and uno butting heads in a leo-raph way is very fun - i don't mind one or two prior group dynamics leaking into the new turtle siblings because they're all so different from the original 4.

uno seems to be taking on slightly more of a leader role than moja so i think he won the title of fearless leader. which is fine, i think it'll be fun to see and he's definitely less of an asshole now than when he was growing up in lost years. still picking on odyn a bit but seems to snipe at moja just as much. even when he was commenting on yi's storytelling he didn't make fun of her, though - i think she may have inherited the 2k3 don ability of being Completely Unbullyable.

i was really pleased that odyn felt more involved!! i feel like he took the backseat a few times in lost years - it was fun seeing more of his personality shine through! he and yi seem to get on the best, and i giggled at them rolling their eyes at moja and uno's raph-leo schtick. i didn't expect him to TURN TO FUCKING STONE THOUGH, so i'm nervous about that. WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHO DID THIS TO MY BOY? IS HE GOING TO TURN BACK NEXT CHAPTER OR IS HE OUT OF COMMISSION UNTIL THE END OF THE RUN??? (if it's the latter i'll be a bit annoyed - don't take odyn away from the equation please!!)

I do wonder if by introducing casually that they can PSYCHICALLY CONNECT, the turtles will use that as a technique to reach odyn's mind to make sure he's still in there and piece together what's happened to him. i mean, their casual telepathy has gotta be some sort of chekhov's gun right?

and shit.... april was so fucking mad casey took the babies out so she's going to EXPLODE when she finds out what happened to her baby boy, her beloved favourite, her baby odyn :''(( im giggling rubbing my hands together waiting for the fallout but also if she cries i might cry too. speaking of april, she seems to be working on a new project and i saw nano particles mentioned - are we going to have a roninverse version of nano in this run???? I NEED MY ROBOT SON

as always, casey marie... u have aged like fine wine. u are stunning. disappointed that ur still believing that jiro can do good as a cop when their entire police force and government is corrupt as fuck. just feels very naive of her. i'm excited to see her break down at the concept of losing odyn - in fact i need everyone to mourn this beautiful kid. they tell us so much that shes a super clingy helicopter mom and i am picking up on the strict part, but it would be nice to see more of her just... hugging her kids. holding them. i get why she didnt in this issue but id love more mama casey squishing their cheeks and kissing their foreheads.

i have zero fucking clue what's going on with odyn. im wondering if it's somehow related to nano, or to whatever project April is working on - she says it's to do with clearing the tunnels, but I''m not convinced. who knows, there might be some ulterior motive happening.

first of all. anzu also has to say. this series is made by rejet, which is a subsidiary team under idea factory.. you've probably seen anzu talked about the neptunia series before, that's also made by idea factory under the team compile heart. now. anzu likes to say compheart is the good of idea factory and rejet is the bad of idea factory 🕊 like sorry for getting you interested in the weird vampire men. but you could be playing a neptunia game and having fun right now. u could be playing fairy fencer f if you want a more serious tone one also written by compheart and having fun right now. if u want a vn you could even be playing date a live right now.. anzu doesn't even know much ab dal, but it is written by compheart so anzu has faith that it's probably better than what the bright minds over at rejet are doing/j

second of all... anzu should probably put a TW list somewhere before you even begin looking into the series at all but it'll be so long anzu doesn't know where exactly to start. so anzu will just generally go and say this series has very dark themes and topics, and also the whole point of it are S-M (/sadomasochism) scenarios .. and all endings you get are solely based on whether you make more sadistic or masochistic choices. certainly, the games get more lax later on, and the characters are admittedly nicer .. depending on character as well .. but you'd also miss a lot of context if you just jump into a latter one..

now is there a plot to this thing.. yes.. is it good?.. well... some people certainly like it, anzu less so with how much it complicates itself in some of the latest titles.. though to anzu's surprise, anzu really liked the setting and writing around the very last game (chaos lineage), even though anzu had No expectations from it at all after the game right before it (lost eden) ..

anzu will try . to explain most things without spoiling too much as well if you're still around and reading. and also trying to keep it short. these are all otome games and there's 7 of them, though 2/7 are less so story filled and more just for funsies ☝️

all games have a set in protagonist with a preexisting character and setting that isn't just a bland faceless nobody named yui. first game (haunted dark bridal/hdb), first introduction to everything, she's the daughter of a priest that was sent off to a manor given her dad had to leave for europe.. the manor seemed empty and haunted, and upon entering she's met with a family of 6 vampire brothers that she now cannot leave out of.. ayato, laito, kanato, reiji, shuu and subaru.. the first three are triplets, and the game's first run forces you to choose between the 3 initially, which anzu likes to call 'this series loving to force you to do the worst first' (as in second game also follows through with a similar limited choice of a first playthrough COUGH). blah blah blah .. you learn that yui was offered up as a sacrificial bride to these vampires because if one of them manages to fall in love with the right person, they can ascend into a stronger vampire, and become the new vampire king after their dad... 500km of text of yui abuse later, yui and the vampire of your choice can fall in love.. question mark. and then alls well when it ends well if its not the third ending for any of them. god bless

2nd game (more, blood/mb) introduces 4 new vampires of another family, ruki, kou, yuma and azusa... you also learn that the whole ascension thing refers to the people involved as 'adam' and 'eve' .. and azusa keeps calling yui eve no matter what throughout all games forth. this game also happens in an alt timeline, where yui would've not chosen any of the initial brothers until that point.. the game forces you to do a route of the initial 6 guys first, but you will get to meet the new ones regardless because in the story parts they'll keep popping up to try and take yui away.. in their own route, in the prologue they manage to kidnap yui instead to their own manor, and the whole 'vampires fighting over you' is still present, with one of the initial 6 appearing in each of the 4 new ones routes as well..

anzu has to add just that anzu thinks most if not all match-ups made for this game are very good.. unbelievable amounts of bias, but kou appearing in laito's route is such a good view into both of their characters, how alike yet distant and different they are as well.. cough. but for the others too. ayato and ruki's beef is timeless

third game (vandead carnival) is one of the silly ones. so anzu will skip it for now. fourth one (dark fate/df) introduces 2 new guys that are not vampires for once, and the series turns into extremely plot lore story based onward from here. while you knew a bit about the world setting very generally previously, it all turns to very focused on that from now.. you get to keep going between the human world and the demon world constantly in this game in all routes, and you'll learn about the 4 demon races and how these 2 new guys (carla and shin, brothers again. of course) are a 5th race called the first bloods that have dna from all other races and can seamlessly use the powers of all kinds.. they hate vampires and their whole beef with this kind is lore related to the initial 6's dad that just fucks things up anywhere everywhere all the time. for fun 💔. so won't go much over it.. a lot of the characters are also much nicer by this title and .. not to be a party pooper but anzu kind of prefers them being insane so. anzu personal bias towards preferring the earlier ones .. sorry for being the main target demographic of the first game. /j again this one's also in an alt timeline.. yadda yadda.. they really like throwing this alt timeline stuff everywhere.

fifth game (lunatic parade) is again a silly one. so skip for now ✋️ sixth game (lost eden/le). boy oh boy. anzu really doesn't like this one.. but many do so. anzu cannot fault anyone, its very storyfilled, you get a lot of interactions between the guys and their bonds and friendships and getting over hardships together etc in this one. but man. anzu really doesnt care and its not why anzu is here 💔 so well. by this title, the initial guy's dad dies so one of them is forced to become the new vampire king with his powers now bestowed upon them, the new vampire king is different per each route, generally being the guy you chose if its one of the 6 ones, if its the 2nd family of 4 or the firstbloods, then it'll be one of the 6 sons that most have ties to the one you chose .. and there's a lot of back and forth of them not being able to control their powers well, struggling to keep things still and fine and well and .. yeah . a lot of story and worldbuilding. certainly, anzu understands why people care about it but.. not for anzu, so don't have much to say about it. this one also introduces a new guy, kino, and anzu loves him a lot but he is utterly terrible and probably 'the worst one' in anzu's book. regardless, anzu still likes him a lot. uhh.. dont have much to say about kino, his whole existence is a walking spoiler if you dont know anything prior/j

LAST GAME! (chaos lineage/cl) now. man. yeah. after how let down anzu was by LE, anzu had absolutely no faith in this one but decided to do it anyway... and anzu was certainly hella surprised and liked it despite, it again focuses a lot on story and character interactions. this game happens before LE begins so the prior vampire king didn't die yet, and it sets up to test the bonds of adam and eve by creating a miniature garden sort of closed off universe where yui and all 13 vampires are thrown into.. they all have misplaced memories, and are all placed into 3 new families that are All over the place. the purpose of it is also to make the brothers fight each other, even if normally they wouldve never fought one another to death.. it has a lot of angst of this whole situation, and also yui's struggles that (guy you chose who is implied already yui's boyfriend by here) cannot seem to remember her or any trials and hardships theyve overcome so far.. but through the power of bonds, you manage to restore the memories of the others here and there... it's a very interesting setting, the game's system was now remade into chess piece choices and no longer S-M, a lot of things were changed with this one. which anzu expected to hate just about everything of it, but anzu really was very pleasantly surprised by it.. given this game happens before LE, you also have no clue who kino is again, and the game acts as an introduction to his character again.. which anzu is extremely glad for, he deserved this and needed it a lot.. 😭 it's not all that much different from LE, but anzu really believes they made his character and struggles show and get handled way better in CL.. plus you still get told just about everything of his past, his wishes and whatnot as well in this game too.. so there's not that much missed from LE, honestly, in his route ..

phew. okay. now the other 2 anzu left off.. they're way shorter than all the rest and focus solely on yui going on a little amusement park date with vampire of choice. it has tons of minigames, but they're nothing incredibly breathtaking, most of them feel like flashgames from 2010 ❤️ which isn't a bad thing, anzu honestly likes them.. these games also seem to be disliked by some people more generally agreed than the rest? from what anzu's seen at least. but anzu really likes the atmosphere they have and how lax they are.. these two also feature sub stories where you hang out with main vampire of choice and all the other ones in short scenarios.. most of them are either cute and sweet or funny, anzu really did enjoy most of everything these titles had to offer 🙏

cough............. you asked for character explanations as well, so anzu will also try to briefly explain what they're all like.

it's hard to characterize yui, she's very different between games and routes and even endings. MB especially seemed to try and take a lot of liberty with her character, at times she's rather the more sadistic one that ends up putting the vampires in situations... certainly you'd also have an easier time looking for an analysis of her character from others who like her, anzu personally doesn't care about her that much to put it all together.. sorry 💔

ayato is probably the face of this whole series.. he's a hotheaded character that does everything just about as he pleases and sees fit. personally to anzu, he's very funny and also the most normal of the triplets... while he is very carefree, even if he doesnt admit it or does it just to seem high and mighty, he's also caring and trying hard for his sake or others, especially in the latter titles

laito....... laito is an entire specimen. anzu fears saying a wrong thing about him to give off a wrong idea about him. he's a pervert and he takes that title to heart, that's most of his character on the outside, but inside he's very troubled and struggles a lot. anzu relates to his inability of understanding human concepts (especially in hdb) highly, which is also why anzu is so interested in him. even if he may say some things, thinking he fully understands them, you can just tell they're said in such an inhumane way that do not at all express those said things, and anzu loves it.. he becomes far more understanding of things like these in latter games, and anzu can understand why people can thorougly enjoy helping him through to understand things like love and such, but anzu equally is fully apathetic to a lot of human held values and concepts, so the more understanding he becomes, the lesser anzu is interested in him.. i.e past MB, anzu doesn't really care about his presence that much .. </3

kanato... anzu will be honest, anzu did not read many of his routes, so anzu cannot give a full well written thing about him. the favoritism will show through 💔 he's a very spoiled brat type of character that demands things from all those around him, and he's quick to run his mouth over the littlest of inconveniences. whenever he expresses his gratitude or love it feels very either tsun or more said in a manner that makes him sound like the best guy ever for daring to be so kind.. anzu thinks he's also funny, a lot of interactions between him and his brothers, especially ayato and laito, are very comedic, and you can also tell despite it all, they weirdly so also care about each other

reiji is just ibara saegusa 2 if you know anything about enstars this guy is just the 2nd coming of ibara. cough if you don't uhm...well. um. he's very authoritative, hes the guy generally keeping everyone in place in the sakamaki family, and without him things would be even more chaotic. .. anzu also doesn't care that much about him to be able to give insight off his own routes 💔

shuu is the all time favorite of everyone walking these lands. not anzu though. unlike all the rest of them anzu has never done a route of his so. uh. 😭 he exists.. he sleeps a lot.. hes pretty chill honestly.. from what anzu knows, his routes are also much less terrible than the rest so well..? he's fine but it annoys anzu he clipped his mp3player on his choker boy you did not need to do that, aint no one taking your mp3player from you/j

subaru is the youngest of the sakamakis. this guy has no temper. anzu did some of his routes because they also include kou.... he's highly the most tsundere character this series has to offer. if you dare say he's caring in any way shape or form for anyone he will just punch a wall. he punches walls a lot... he's kind of like that archetype of emo guys in 2012 mixed with a tough one, if something goes against his wishes (that is not life threatening) he will just go HAAH? punch a wall and retract back in his emo coffin to sleep in. like a real vampire ⛓️🔗🌙🥀🦇

new family. yay. ruki is the oldest of the mukamis, he's very calm and composed and is very good at bringing his family together and offering advice for this and that.. he reads a lot, he probably has the entire library or alexandria up in his brain, he can cook well, and he sounds just like about the perfect husband until you do his route and he starts acting like an alpha male 💥 okay. jokes aside he's still very nice and caring, in his own dark academia way of being. anzu likes him this is why anzu is bullying him 💔

kou is the 2nd in line for the mukamis.. hes an idol, he sings and dances, stars in movies, variety shows, photoshoots, etc, just about any job an idol can get. hes very active in his idol field and would you look at that this is the first guy with a job isnt it. /j .. he's somewhat of a pervert at times as well and highly a tease, though far off what laito's character is in comparison.. given his backstory and how he was raised, he starts off believing everything in the world is 'give and take', so he takes advantage of his own forced ideology to make yui give herself up by offering things. you generally get to make him loosen up on this idea, and by LE/CL he becomes quite a wet flop of a guy. in a good sense hes like a puppy .. cough

yuma is the third son, he's very big and mighty and acts the part, but also much like subaru he's also quite caring in his own.. weird ways ❤️ he likes farming, he has a garden wherever he goes, he likes offering his fresh well grown vegetables to those close to him.. while he seems more emotionally unavailable at times or very upfront without a second thought, he means well, but he has troubles expressing himself ........ very well shown in backstory memories with him, or how he is and acts to all around him in MB. anzu also thinks hes funny 🙏

the last and youngest and tiniest of the mukamis.. azusa .. is just a little guy ☝️ and this is the one thing the entire fandom agrees upon ��� in anzu's opinion hes the nicest one out of all of them. he's a masochist and likes cutting himself.. but besides this and his own antics of the sorts, he is the most caring and understanding at all times.. if you are to do any of the mukamis routes, even if it's not his, he's almost always on yui's side and jumps to her defense before anything regrettable happens. however do not be fooled of his little guy status, kou is absolutely far more of a loser that can't do anything compared to azusa.. he may be little guy in status and mind, but absolutely not the babiest unable to do anything of the mukamis. kou's loser status needs to be acknowledged more 💔 and azusa is undeserving of such labeling

carla, the older of the firstblood brothers.. anzu cares about him just as much as shuu. however, he can be very funny sometimes in his absolutely otherworldly antics.. when LP starts, the plot to it is that yui's heart was stolen and even then he wishes to not go retrieve her heart and save her life and he only goes because he's heard there is a limited edition panini sold at the parade and he really wants to try it. thanks carla for your services. he speaks in old people dialect (?), he's very scary and his presence absolutely shows through at all times.. he's very imposing and hard to say 'no' to..

shin, the younger tsukinami.. now anzu loves shin so much. but everyone else in the world will not agree with this/j he's like koga oogami minus the yugioh.. if you dont know enstars again well. whyre you on anzus blog!? /j .. given he has first blood powers, he can transform in anything between a bat, a snake, a crow or a wolf. he is very dedicated to his alpha wolf form and is the only guy we even see transformed ever.. he normally also has a tail which is very cute. in his initial route he's a total sadist but anzu also wouldn't label it as that bad compared to others.. and in later titles with an established relationship hes equally cute and flustered about it and tsun.. expect a lot of 'its not like i care about you or anything's .. to anzu he's incredibly funny. a lot of his interactions with the other guys (outside of DF) are golden.. anzu also finds his voice and way of speaking funny, and his little hehe laughs are also downright contagious at times. he is great 11/10 and anzu wishes more people liked him :(

the very last one. kino. its hard to categorize kino without writing spoilers. he is a far more spoiled brat character than kanato in anzu's opinion... he has a 'friend' by his side names yuuri though he treats this guy more like a servant than anything.. he's on the deepest ends of sadists this game has to offer especially in LE. in anzu's opinion. ... he is possibly one of the strongest guys out of the rest, but it's also equally funny he's a total complete raging phone gamer. this guy plays gacha games and spends all his money on it and he WILL tell you about it. it will now be Your issue as well. and you also have to play his games too. you cannot escape him. extremely cunning.. extremely teasing.. gamer man. shin's VA hates this guy. 10/10

I like to think that she got the black hair from her father but the bright pink eyes from her mother which contrast each other VERY MUCH ITS ALMOST FUNNY . I DONT PLAY ABT DESIGN !

-> Miori and Airi Dynamic: Airi used to be intimidated by her as a kid and she still is now. But she's not very intimidated and she cannot see a universe where she is distanced from her sister—they aren't close, but they SHOULD be seen together every week-month unless something is wrong. This is because Miori is almost like a second parent whenever their actual parents are unavailable, and since Airi is the next most busiest person in their family she always has to depend on Miori in taking her to places or blah blah . Which she doesn't mind, and which Airi finally finds it to warm up to her. And sometimes she talks back to her in which she also regrets shortly.

-> Miori and Akari Dynamic: Akari treats her eldest sister with the MOST RESPECT. They didn't use to talk that much because Akari was always with Airi + Miori was so busy with studies, but when Airi's off to her Idol duties it only leaves the two of them. Akari is very obviously scared of her elder sister, and her Miori acts a bit "dense" to this. But either way Akari really loves her family! She doesn't really know how to make Miori smile the same way she makes Airi smile, but she knows Miori can smile and she treasures those moments a lot ! Akari is a giant smiley :3 Also Miori does take her time to help Akari prepare for sport competitions, because she "already experienced them much better than Airi," and probably because it was her way to spend more time with her youngest sibling ^o^

Younger Sister: Akari Momoi

-> her hair is a darker shade of pink ! it is also very messy usually.... and mayb fluffy . She also has double fangs!

-> I imagine her to give a bit of a "rainbow dash energy," as in she's really energetic and upbeat. almost like airi in a way—this is because she really aspires to be like her older sister!!! Back then, I think she was more of a shy person and just an overall..... crybaby . But Airi always used to protect her back then which is why Akari saw her as a role model and adapted to being a but more lively like her !! ^o^

It is rarely that they fight and if ever they do its usually playful—and usually Akari apologises quickly cause of how sensitive she is. That's why Airi doesn't usually fight with her. Againnn Akari sees Airi as a role model !! And uhmmm someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think she's the sister that enjoyed seeing Airi smile back in Time to Restart? I genuinely think they share a mutual desire into wanting to make eachother smile!!!! Airi is like Akari's second best friend.... because they're so close in age ..... all the good things!!!! huhuhu.... and it's cannon that Airi always stood up for her and protected her from bullies..... so they're really the sweetest siblings!!!! Airi was probably the first to understand how sensitive Akari is :'3 their dynamic can have ups and downs, and since airi always takes care of akari (I think she said this in mysekai?) she can be a bit strict with her too, (this is implied in the same convo with rin abt her eldest sister!) buttttt i think it's a bit funny if akaris developed a bit of a sad wet cat look and airi stops everything she's saying cuz she gets how sensitive she is. It's like a cycle, but they always make up ;3 i think airis made it a habit to not go too far when being strict with her tho, which is why akari is also really respectful around her!!

So Mega.lop.olis is an actual mindfuck. Like the visuals are so incredibly cool but if you don't pay close attention it will seem like random and complete nonsense.

Despite everyone saying how bad it is, its actually not? I found it to be really good with a good story that goes into a pretty deep discussion about our way of living. (Again if you're paying attention!)

Now onto the other stuff (that I was screaming about last night)

They outright say my boy has mania and given how a certain scene goes and the story that goes with it it is very very deeply implied that my love suffers from the same mental illness I do which is very unfortunate but I instantly could relate to him on a deeper more understanding level. Ce.s.ar went through an episode and did some not so great things and my heart absolutely broke for him. As stated last night, the moment it started I instantly knew what was happening before it became aware to audience.

Much like my irl self and the woman who birthed me, he does not get on well with his mother. We both have very very shitty mothers (our fathers aren't in the picture. This also contributes to Ce.s.ar's moods and again my heart breaks for him because he's just so sweet and his mother is so....not...)

Pretty sure my boy cannot die, like.. ever. I yelled in the theater last night mainly because loud sound and what happened to him (he got shot in the right side of his face ;A; survived though by using the very stuff he discovered to create, to heal his face. The surgeons used it for him)

Silly rambles(?) Kinda.

I did not like the canon love interest that was happening. Ya know despite my raging jealousy lol like just viewing it, they would have been better off as rivals(?) Granted she helps him in a huge way when someone tries to lie and say he's done (x) things and proves he is innocent but in terms of relationship all I saw was someone following him around (literally stalking him in her car with her friend) and then it's just a weird little timeskip of "oh we work together now" but doesn't say or show what she actually does?

Also what confused me is Ce.s.ar's ability to stop time. Well not so much him in general but more so...can anyone use it? Because there's a scene (blah blah canonxcanon) where she gets him to think about her to try and stop time because he seemed to have lost the ability after his big episode. It works and thats what kicks off their relationship? But then their relationship isn't really..idk concrete? Its so hard to explain but I did not connect to her and his relationship. Nothing made me root for them as a couple in the way the movie thought I might would??

And he just goes "absolutely not, extremely dangerous you all should RUN!" and then he got all giggly and was like "no its actually extremely safe~" also he smiles A LOT and also also there is a moment when he's learning something similar to those old games in school like miss Mary mack hand game and he gets faster and faster and faster and when its basically noncoherent the other is like "stop! What are you doing!?" And he's like "a solo!" HELP he's so fucking cute???? like I love you even more??

I was expecting softly spoken always serious. While I got it in certain scenes from him, he's actually so playful and silly which is so fucking great for me because I too am very playful and silly. He can also be loud like his voice can be very commanding and im like.."h-h..hey ~♡'

his love interests father is responsible for making sure his dead wife's body was never found??? Hullo!? And then its touched upon a little bit but then the movie treated Ce.s.ar and the girls dad as if it was completely forgotten by the end if the movie like after that reveal it was still the dad hating him and Ce.s.ar was just....??? Still wanting his praise and approval?? I really did not like that. He should have been pissed! I mean the man convicted Ce.s.ar of killing his own wife which wasn't the case. Due to Ce.s.ar's untreated bip.olar he (like me) was deemed 'too much' and sadly, unfortunately, his wife couldn't take it and she did take her own life but it was that girls father that made it look like he killed her and Ce.s.ar was convicted (but acquitted shortly after)

So I'm taking my man, from everything. Oki so I'm just gonna ramble here so bare with my uncohesive thoughts and flow in explanation. So I think Anna wouldn't have the same goals as Johan per se. Because although this is a reverse au, it won't exactly be the same as if Johan were just a girl version.

Some main points that I think Anna's goal would differ is that wherein Johan wants to eliminate all things (except select few: nina and tenma) because to him all lives are equally dead to him.

Anna would difer in the way that she would want to eliminate all things that she personally thinks would get in the way for her new world. Think something like makima or daenerys (done right... not the season 8 mad queen writing fhasjdk).

Because to me, johan represents the kind of evil where no life has meaning... but anna is a special kind of evil where only *certain* lives have meaning. BEcause it's fuckign terrifying yes that to johan everyone is an ant and you could die at any second because evey life is equally insignificant to him

anna has this fucking terrifiyng element where some lives do matter, and SHE deciedes wether u live or die or not, SHE chooses, little miss unhinged playing god.

And this ties to the fact that she was given up as a kid, so in that way, she believes that maybe some people are worth sacrificing if it means a means to an end. sometimes i'm an asshole, n more frequently than that i can be short w ppl (sometimes even when i don't intend to). i'm far from perfect, n i've been even further from it n def have my share of shit i can look back at n wish i'd handled better (nothing so atrocious as implied here), but the only reason i can look back n feel that way is bc i continuously strive to grow n learn n become more aware. like, i grew up in a time w very different social norms, no access to information that couldn't be found in the local library or experienced firsthand if within biking distance, n was raised by parents from an entirely different culture than where i grew up. we've all got our challenges, but my point is that in many ways my process will have necessarily looked a lot different than it does for a massive amt of the active tumblr base. i'm sure many others here around my age or older or w v different backgrounds from the "average" blogger feel similarly. blah blah but yeah thank u sincerely.

So, we *talked* about a lot of things but I haven't had a chance to try any of them yet, but here's some of what we talked about:

INCUP method:

I - Interest (if the thing in question isn't generating any interest in you, you're not gonna wanna do it - in the context of a hobby the interest is kinda already there I guess, but could also look like cutting a scene you're not excited to write - if it doesn't interest you maybe find a way to make it so the story doesn't need that scene so that you can write something you find more fun)

N - Novelty (if you're doing the same thing over and over, your brain might be like "I've already sucked all the good I can extract from this; I want something new and shiny" so you need to change something up to get yourself going again - maybe location, maybe you get yourself a scented candle and a fun beverage or a good soundtrack to make the action feel fresher)

C - Challenge (finding the right level of "this isn't so difficult as to be off-putting but it's difficult enough to hold my attention" which for writing could be like breaking a project down into smaller tasks or pieces and just focusing on one of those to start so you don't get overwhelmed)

U - Urgency (thissss is the one I KNOW always motivates me super well, but I don't know how to generate it outside of an official fandom event that has deadlines and an external Watcher keeping me in line. but damn I wish I did. I need to find a way to create a sense of urgency in me without an outside influence. I have not figured out how to do this.)

P - Play (I feel like this sort of circles back to interest. Make it fun! If you're not having fun (since this is in the context of a hobby) change it up!)

We did also identify something interesting - after analyzing the times that I was super productive creatively, we found that it was when I was under serious stress and generally miserable. Writing was literally keeping me afloat. But now I'm in a much kinder job, and none of my immediate family are actively dying, and I no longer have that dire need fueling me. WHICH IS GREAT. but like... dammit. lol

So we talked about needing to find other ways to generate that fuel WITHOUT being in dire straights. Which is when we started talking about the INCUP method and other stuff but then our session was over so 🤷

my homework is to try some stuff and circle back next time and see what worked and what didn't and blah blah it's a process lol

Here's a more serious headcanon or thought (add a trigger if you must): have you thought about Sonny as a victim of CSA?

I read a really good fic about it, and it got me wondering. He is the child of the Catholic Church, and you know how it goes. Since I also headcanon him as bi/pan, he probably felt alot more confusion and shame, wondering if he liked men because of the assult or if the assult made him this way (none of this is true obviously). Like I wonder if his guilt amplified because of possible hypersexuality from the attack and tried so hard to repress it along with his attraction for both genders.

I wonder if that one priest who he said saved his life helped him heal from his trauma and restore his faith. Reassured him that what happened to him was disgusting, that God made him in His image, so he is not disgusting for liking men. That type of pain never leaves, but he had one authority figure who understood and protected him growing up. there are a variety of reasons for why i've moved on from atla and why i don't plan on revisiting it.

it's a show i watched when i was much younger, and i have fond memories that i want to remain as just fond memories of the past

Irregardless, I can tell you that there's a substantial chunk of Americans who have been radicalized to such an extent that there's no turning back; these people will believe whatever they are told and are absolutely frothing at the mouth, ready to kill if given a "morally righteous" reason, and consume media which exclusively feeds them further radical thought (the amount of active popular grifters has gotten so large they are forming their own fucking companies made of several layers of huckster). They will never stop believing this crap as it's become inherent to their Idealogy, effectively a building block of their soul.

As well, Qanon followers didn't just magically go away. While a large number of them have learned to not actively reveal their hand and more have simply decided it was a psy-op, they still entirely believe that a cabal of deep state pedophiles are blah blah blah blah...

This is a substantial base on top of your standard "Republican/Conservative" who doesn't know what fascism is and doesn't care as long as their guy wins, cause they might TAKE OUR GUNS! 1) Trump wins > mass riots > civil war

2) Trump wins > coup > civil war

4) Sleepy Joe wins > Trump throws a coup > Wins (Probably unlikely as the military would be forced to back the bag of bones currently pretending to be not racist (Biden) )

5) Sleepy Joe wins > Trump throws a coup > loses

6) Sleepy Joe Wins > Democrats/legal system actually do something useful and stop Trump from committing a coup > America is still on the brink of collapse (where's it's been for years)

There's a functional rot in America that just isn't going to magically go away even if Trump is arrested, there's no stopping the The right with their S.C majority while the Democratic party is functionally no better and only marginally less inclined to upset cis het whitefolk (if your not white, they don't care about you beyond performative gestures). They won't ever change (there's a reason why MLK said Moderates are the biggest hurdle to equality), so here's an obvious spot in history for any old bigot to take the stand and try to "Make America Great Again"

Largely speaking, I'd rather there's no violence, but I'm also not some fool who errantly believes that America is "too great and strong " to split and fall into chaos. The country has been radicalized towards Christo-Fascism and there's no stopping it unless people play legal hot potato and keep offices from being filled by them until they all die of old age and Covid...

Oh and that's not going to happen because part of Qanons movement has been to convince people to infiltrate government (mostly local, but you've got senators and congressmen who are connected to it all the way down to infiltrating the positions of election officials) and attempt to aid their president, when the time comes. This is on top of the countless corporate ghouls who currently have political power that are directly paid and bought for by rich white conservatives.

Ideally, Trumps coup is a thousand bigots getting arrested/shot...but the cops don't like siding against their own, do they?

edit: btw irregardless of what happens there's nothing anyone can do besides prepare as the legal system is useless and the only solution would be mass riots and the near entire removal of all politicians from federal and state positions, which I'm all for!
