the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

I just think it's funny how my coworker including me in both her post and IG stories made it look like I was way more included than I actually was in the ski trip
#if I hit my head and got amnesia and forgot the ski trip then looked at her post/stories#I would think I had a great time and was really included in the group#which is so far from the case#I felt so excluded on that trip#the first thing I did when we got to the cabin was go in the bathroom and cry#I stayed alone upstairs on my bed reading my book while everyone else socialized downstairs by the fireplace#the main thing is confusion#like I am just so confused why I felt like part of my work friend group in the past like on staff retreats and when we hang out outside of#*work#but then all of a sudden on this ski trip we no longer felt like a trio#it was my work friends being a duo and me on my own#they were attached at the freaking hip#there was even a point where my work friend was gonna go to the ski resort with our manager#and she suggested her friend/my other work friend and I go in the other car#and just as I predicted...I get to the other car and turn around#and there's my other work friend with my work friend about to get in my manager's vehicle#so I was gonna go alone in the other car with these two other pple#and they might've noticed I was feeling some type of way#cuz they asked if I was sure#and ofc I was like yeah it's fine#but dude how attached at the hip do you have to be....#and they're roommates so they already see each other every day#it's just so........#anyway#I've got very mixed feelings about this trip#and it's weird how she included me so much in the post like the very first photo is us three#but majority of the time it was them two#taking pictures of each other in the snow...walking together....meanwhile I'm behind on my own#personal

btw. incredibly refreshing to see someone capable of criticizing ghost trick. usually when i see people talking about what it gets wrong they're talking about some weird nitpick (or a completely made-the-fuck-up problem) instead of the flaws the game actually has.
(not to be taken as ghost trick hate, for the record. its one of my favorite games, it's just not perfect)
listen. you're gonna have to let me slow cook this one for a few more days cause I'm watching metanarrates play the game with a friend of ours and I'd like to discuss this with them first to get my thoughts in order, but i feel like the misogyny in Lynne's "ambiguous age" and constant infantilization is a perfect microcosm of the larger hypocrisy in ghost trick's social critique (or rather, lack of)
#the writing is constantly pussyfooting around the topic of police brutality in spite of featuring it prevalently in its mystery plot#which like eta said on our last call is far from unprecedented for a product of detective fiction as a genre#(even when its sleuth protagonists are not in fact police authorities—which is not the case for grick)#answered asks#ghost trick#also thank you so much!

#first time writing a gendered reader… it’s quite fun#but i have to keep reminding myself that he Has (gendered) Pronouns#because i always write the reader as having an undefined gender for the sake of accessibility and also my own comfort to some extent#my general verdict is not to write a gendered reader unless it adds to the story somehow (in this case it definitely does)#but if it doesn’t… it just makes it harder to write/ read for me#nothing quite like an untagged ‘her’ popping into existence when you’re reading through a nice little fic :’)#of course people writing reader-inserts don’t have to cater to gender identities which aren’t their own#but it doesn’t stop that being a little jarring for myself and presumably some others#so basically yeah. gender-neutral readers are (usually) the way to go for me#but straying from that is enjoyable so far because it’s going to inform a lot of the reader’s behaviour in this fic#r’s random thoughts#au: kitsune!heizou#heizou x reader

i must talk to the guy who offered me the part time bookkeeper job again (wasn't 100% sure i was qualified for it when he first brought it up lol) and depending on what the pay is, i may survive after all
#i am moving money around arbitrarily in my accounts to pretend that i am doing something#and I've gotten the credit card debt low enough now that it's theoretically possible to have it paid off before i would have my surgery#which of course is only the case if i use the e-begged amount for the current debt and then just take on more debt lol#so far I've only pulled from it to make my payments to joss for the amount that i borrowed from her for the myofunctional therapy#so that way i don't have to give her my entire bonus next summer lol#so if this extra job pays even what I'm hoping for as a low estimate i should make it#and escape the pits of debt slavery in like 2 years#i think
