Y'know, I've seen a few people get this "elf ear" surgery and it just reminded me of Spock.

Like imagine Spock, Kirk and Bones get transported to our present time and Spock doesn't even have to hide his ears because of those elf ear surgeries.

Spock is fascinated by old 21st century Earth beauty customs, Bones is losing his mind and Kirk is just happy he doesn't have to bullshit any excuse for Spock [again].

Just imagine the possibilities. [Also Spock would be absolutely awesome at a ren faire just saying.]

Vanitas follows her as she leads him, focusing on her intently while also keeping himself open to what his Unversed are doing. None have died yet, but he doesn't kid himself. The Heartless that lurk here will undoubtedly destroy more than one before long. At least they'd make a good distraction.

Negativity and darkness are closely linked, and being made of pure negativity would code as a heart drowning in darkness to the unthinking beasts. As long as they're scattered around, they would seem like easy prey.

Before long, they've arrived, and Vanitas is looking up at a home. It suddenly occurs to him that, outside of the Land of Departure's main building, he's never been inside of anything that could be considered "a home."

No matter. As long as it was a place to rest and recover, he'd be fine.

He turns his head toward Kairi as she speaks. He doesn't bother answering her question about asking one, since he assumes she's going to carry on and ask anyway. She doesn't disappoint him there.

"This is definitely the Realm of Darkness," Vanitas confirms. As for her next question, he pauses, then glances around. "Who knows. Sure looks like you're little island. But it feels kinda hollow though, don't it?"

Kairi tries not to let the happiness show too much on her face, knowing that if she means to earn his cooperation she has to be firm. But surely he could feel it, the increase of light -- perhaps she is just as happy to get her way as she is to be able to see to his wellbeing.

She gestures him to follow her, and makes sure not to go too fast. Always slowing down when it seems he's straggling, and keeping a watchful eye on his body language. He is in a terrible way, regardless of how he behaves. His guards were raised, and if she knew what was good for her she would probably do the same.

But she couldn't help it. Even as she toiled away in these dim streets, that lackadaisical nature of hers ultimately resurfaced when the company of another presented itself. Maybe it was as much a defense mechanism as his abrasiveness.

❝ Uhm... hey... can I ask you something? ❞

The question is quiet when they reach their destination, what appeared to be the yard of her childhood home. All of the flowers in the garden, wilted, the vibrancy from the lawn, dull, and all of the light in the windows, gone. Somewhere in the highest window was her room, where she hid in fear for hearts knows how many days. It was where she planned to lead him -- because currently it was the safest place in this gloomy hell.

And yet... standing here, with him... she is reminded of the question she had been too afraid to ask. Even now she feels guilty to, when he can barely stand. ❝ This place... It looks like my home. The islands. But it's... it's different. ❞ She bites her lip to stop it from quivering. ❝ D...Do you think my homeworld fell to the darkness? ❞
