Actually I am going to go to bed early to wake up early so I can do the rest of the presentation prep with a more rested mind. I already have the bulk of it done anyways, I just need to smooth things put.
I am just so, so tired...
#speculation nation#i was actively working on it for like... well 7.5 hours straight. but also probably like a cumulative hour ish during my earlier class#i also of course had class too. which was also work. so Really ive been doing school stuff for. hm. nearly 10 hours today??#which is ROUGH. i am so so tired. i have a headache. im eating now. gonna go to bed right after.#gonna wake up with a fresher mind. finalize the presentation. give the presentation.#probably chill between that and my next class bc Lol.#then theres class... then i go home... arrive back around 3 ish...#probably rest a bit more... maybe take a nap depending on how tired i am...#and then it'll be exam time. which may take up the rest of my evening. i dont know.#i'll only Really get to rest come friday. and Boy will i be resting.#come saturday and sunday i'll need to get to work on my essay exam. but at the very least. i'll give myself One true day off.#i really really need it 😭😭😭😭

See see see this is the point- I’m the eldest daughter too so like that’s the issue- I wouldn’t want to be mature again Ina relationship and then it’d be stressful for me and knowing gojo can be a little rough I’d overthink and kms after a fight💀so this is why seeing a poly with geto and gojo would work amazing for me because like. "Oh! I forgot to tell you Dream is coming today!"
Tommy froze as soon as those words came out of Wilbur's mouth. His jaw tightened and he finished stacking the wood he collected. Then he cracked his knuckles and walked to his tent, pushing it open and crawling inside. Wilbur frowned a little and finished putting the flowers down. He walked over to the tent and crouched down, looking in at Tommy. Tommy crawled in the samll bed he made and pulled the blankets around himself. He closed his eyes despite not being tired at all, but he didn't want to see or even hear Dream.
"Are you alright Tommy? Do you need some blue?"
Wilbur was concerned for his, still alive, little brother. Although he didn't quite understand why Tommy was so upset, he still tried to be a supportive brother. Tommy was grateful that Wilbur hadn't fully abandoned him yet, but at the same time he wanted him to go away.
"No Wilbur. I am just feeling sick, and going to take a nap."
Tommy was lying of course. He just didn't want to be around Dream, at all, ever again. He despised him completely for separating him and Tubbo. Although Tommy was beginning to think everything was his fault and he deserved this. He was beginning to think he deserved all of this. He just wanted to wilt away.
"Alright! I will finish up the garden and bring you back some food!"
Wilbur said cheerfully, walking away from the tent. Tommy curled up in a ball on the uncomfortable floor of the tent. Then he wrapped the blanket around himself, pulling it over his head. He closed his eyes and gently put his hand over them, breathing lightly. He laid there in silence, listening to his own breathing and the birds chirping in the nearby trees. It was slightly calming but he couldn't sleep. He was dreading the arrival of Dream, but already planned to 'be asleep' when he does actually arrive. Wilbur occasionally checked on him to see that Tommy barley moved. Wilbur continued to leave him alone, but stacked his chest with food he collected. He also continued working on the garden as Tommy continued to hide under the blanket in the tent. Time passed slowly and Tommy felt like every second was a year. He was felt bored and impatient while he laid under the blankets, but couldn't sleep and didn't want to get up. He didn't want to get up, and leave the tent knowing Dream was coming and would probably be here soon.
"Where's Tommy?"
Soon was an understatement. Then again Tommy was unsure how much time actually passed, he laid there for so long. Wilbur waved and smiled at Dream, holding out a flower to him.
"Hello Dream! Tommy is asleep in the tent. He doesn't feel good, please do not disturb him!"
Wilbur said politely but yet it still somehow managed to sound like a threat. Dream glanced at the tent, wondering if Tommy had gotten sick. He looked back at Wilbur and smiled softly, back at him. Then Dream looked around slowly taking in what has been done around here. He noticed the two small stacks of wood and sticks, as well as a small little container made out of rocks and dirt. He opened it and looked in to see raw chicken and fish. Some of it looked rotten, and smelled bad. He cringed a little and shut it, walking over to the tent. He glanced in to look at Tommy. Tommy was still curled up under the blanket in a ball. Under the blanket Tommy still had his eyes closed, but kept listening. Dream decided to leave him alone, giving him the benefit of the doubt.
"Has he been eating normally? Drinking normally?"
Dream did in fact have concern for Tommy's health, because he knew how hurt Tubbo would be if he died. Tubbo would blame Dream, which technically it is his fault. Dream is the one who made Tubbo exile Tommy. But still Tubbo would blame dream, hate him, even resent him, and most likely cut off all ties with him. Tubbo would turn his back on Dream and show him no compassion at all. The only thing Dream would get from Tubbo would be war. Or flat out murder. Imprisonment.
"Um yeah kinda. He's been drinking a lot, I don't watch him but im sure he eats just fine."
Wilbur did watch Tommy though. Wilbur hovered over Tommy every time he got up from the bed. Wilbur knew and saw everything that Tommy did. Wilbur didn't trust Dream with important information about his younger brother. Even with memory loss Wilbur felt there was something off with this situation. He decided against being honest with Dream. It's not like Dream would be able to tell anyways.
"Do you guys need more food? More blankets?"
Dream was trying to be nice, offering the few things that would keep Tommy alive. So if he did die Wilbur would be his witness that he tried to give them up. Although Wilbur wouldn't let Tommy die. Wilbur was all Tommy had left and he knew that. He knew that Tommy needed him now more than ever, and wouldn't let anything happen to him. Wilbur was working on bringing his stuff from his regular home over to Tommy's tent. Mostly books so Tommy wouldn't be so bored and lonely.
"No."
Wilbur replied dully before going back to work on the garden. Wilbur found very few seeds and decided to plant them in hopes food for Tommy would grow. As Wilbur worked on the garden not far from the tent, Dream made an actual chest. A big enough one where they could store useful things in there. He transferred the good food over to the chest before scrapping the shit chest and rotten food. Tommy was a little annoyed that Wilbur declined extra blankets, because he was cold. Even though Wilbur was dead, Tommy wasn't yet. Tommy mentally rolled his eyes and did his best to keep in place. He occasionally rolled over, and stretched out his legs but didn't get up. He didn't want to get up, hearing dream's voice was enough to give him a headache.
"Alright Wilbur, let me know when Tommy gets up. Also let me know if he gets even more sick. I'll be back tomorrow."
Dream gave up and got back in his boat, pushing off from the island. Wilbur got up from the garden and dusted his hands off. He waved and watched, waiting patiently for Dream to disappear out of sight. Once he was gone Wilbur walked over to the tent and gently cleared his throat.
"He is gone now Tommy."
"Thank you Wilbur...."
Tommy barely moved again, worrying Wilbur a little. He gently set some blue in the tent next to Tommy before backing off. Tommy looked at it and it got darker blue. He rolled his eyes and rolled over in the tent, gently grabbing the compass. He softly rubbed the marks in it and gently rubbed his thumb over Tubbo's name that was carved in it. He closed his eyes and gently pulled it to his chest.
The next few days Wilbur politely told Tommy every time Dream was going to show up. Which Tommy was grateful for, and managed to program his sleeo schedule with Dream's visits. It made Dream a little worried that Tommy was sick, and getting worse. Wilbur provided no help to Dream and gave him plain answers. Although it only lasted a few more days before Dream caved and tried waking him up. Mainly because he was worried Tommy was dying.
"Hey long time no see."
"Go away."
Tommy rolled away from Dream as soon as he saw his face, covering himself back up with the blanket. Dream yanked it off him, making him shiver and shake from the cold wind that blew in the tent. It made Dream feel a little bit bad, but didn't give the blanket back.
"Come on Tommy. I wanna see you up and moving, lets go."
Tommy rolled his eyes and removed the pillow from under his head. He put it on top of his head and curled up in a ball, cold without his blanket. That Dream had.....
"Tommy-"
"Go away. Don't you have a husband to be with? And friends to chat up? Leave me alone. This is my little place so stop invading me and go away!"
Tommy snapped at him, his voice rough and tired. Dream stood up and tossed the blanket to him, still feeling worried. His voice was different than what it had usually been. Dream knew that Tubbo would kill him if anything bad happened to Tommy. So Dream needed to figure something out and fast. Meanwhile Tommy grabbed the blanket and wrapped himself up. The blanket was thin and small but it kept him a little warm at least. It was all Tommy had so it worked for now....

Pregnancy 2 // First Trimester
Figured I would do an update on how the first trimester was for Baby 2! Things have been different and more intense the second time around! Excited to share the details with you below.
WEIGHT GAINED
I haven’t tracked my exact weight for JUST the first trimester but at my 16 week appt I had gained 9 pounds which my dr said was normal and on track! I will say the pounds started packing on WAY faster this second time around. Almost to the point I was freaked out. But you have to think that everything is growing and taking shape faster and as long as I am on track with my doctor I am feeling great. It is always also strange coming off fertility treatment into pregnancy because I am not fully myself. I had been doing fertility medication for almost a year and that always adds some start weight. But, like I said, it’s all part of my story. All part of my process. And honestly, the fact that I am here, it all doesn’t matter. I am so grateful to be pregnant and have a healthy baby!!
HOW I’M FEELING: PHYSICALLY
Nausea
GOOD GOD. My nausea was 10x worse this time around. At 6 weeks, I went on diclegis prescription for nausea and took 2 pills at night. Despite being on meds, I still struggled through most of my first trimester with extreme nausea. Luckily I did not have vomiting but man… the nausea was REALLY bad. To be honest with you, none of the “tricks” worked for me either. Sure snacks, small meals, ginger, etc etc but nope. Massive unrelenting nausea. The hardest part about it is that being the mom to a toddler means you don’t have the luxury of resting like you do as a first time pregnant woman. Having to take care of an active child while struggling with feeling ill is miserable. I have to thank Blake for pretty much taking over the minute he would be done with work to help me as I was doubled over on the couch. It was rough. And rough knowing just how long the first trimester is. What I did make sure to do was ALWAYS have a snack in the mid afternoon. If I didn’t have some kind of snack between 2-4pm, I would be even more miserable. Saltine crackers were always on my nightstand along with bold chex mix, and goldfish.
Growing pains
I experienced some more intense round ligament pain in my groin area this time around. I noticed it mostly at night. Especially when I needed to lawn, or sneeze or make a bigger movement I would get a twitch of pain from it.
Pregnancy Brain
Like my first pregnancy, pregnancy brain is a REAL THING. I swear the moment I got pregnant my brain turned to mush. It’s hard to explain but I can’t remember anything to save my life. Lol!
Exhaustion
I was a new level of tired being pregnant and chasing a toddler. Truth be told being in a pandemic didn’t help either. Not being able to take him places etc. I was very tired but the sickness bothered me more than being tired.
Constipation
Sorry if that’s TMI but wow the constipation was bad this time around. The first month or two was tough and I know it also has alot to do with how much progesterone is in my body. Since I wasn’t drinking coffee after my transfer right away, it was extra tough. I always feel like coffee gets me moving. HA! I know. So much TMI. You’re welcome.
Baby bump
This time around I feel my belly popped out a lot sooner! At 14 weeks I feel I had a tiny little bump. I am sure I will look back and be like, WOW that wasn’t much of a bump but it’s when I felt there was a defined transformation.
HOW I’M FEELING: MENTALLY
I think similarly to my first pregnancy, after so much loss (with each of our failed embryo transfers) you keep waiting and holding your breath as each week passes you by. Each week it’s own milestone. And you find yourself thinking, “Oh I will feel good once I hear the heart beat!” “Oh I will feel good when I hit the second trimester.” But really, I think there is always a sense of unease as you move through the process. I think it’s healthy to be a little bit nervous. It’s honest. I think things have just been more stressful with the fact that we are still in a global pandemic because of Covid-19. That has put alot of stress on us keeping our family safe during these times and staying as isolated as we can while also being aware of taking care of our mental health. We are very fortunate living where we do to be able to spend time together outdoors and that has been great for the mind and body. Really, I go to bed, and wake up every day just so damn grateful knowing that I am growing life and repeating to myself that I AM PREGNANT. And THIS IS OUR CHANCE. This is our miracle. It’s been such an emotional roller coaster to get to this point and really, despite any outside stressors buzzing around, I am just so grateful and smile so big everyday knowing that next Summer I get to make Otis a big brother.
WHAT I’M EATING
First trimester for me was CARBS. CARBS and MORE CARBS. Honestly most days I barely had an appetite because of how sick I felt but I know how important it was to nourish my body. So I would basically have to force myself to have my meals. ESPECIALLY when it came to dinner. I had no appetite at all at night. It was bad.
That being said, I didn’t have any coffee for weeks. First off because I avoid caffeine after my embryo transfer and didn’t feel comfortable drinking it until after I heard the heartbeat. At a certain point, when my nausea would allow in the am and I was in the mood for coffee, I started to drink it again. I started with decaf but then had some headaches and my doctor always encourages me to have 1 cup of caffeine to help with my headaches. What I was drinking and couldn’t stop was bubble water (or carbonated water) whatever you like to call it. I usually prefer lukewarm drinks but this pregnancy I was craving ICED COLD bubble water. We actually ended up getting this carbonated water maker and we literally use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. For some reason the cold bubble water just helped with my nausea believe it of not.
Thankfully eggs were a lifesaver for me and I could tolerate them. My favorite go to breakfast that didn’t make me want to throw up: a piece of toast, a tiny bit of mayo, and a sliced hard boiled egg with salt and pepper. I basically ate that every day. I also had a lot of bagels with cream cheese when I wasn’t feeling great. Food was just tough so we didn’t meal plan as much so I could eat more what I could stomach that day.
As the first trimester went on, I was able to eat more regularly. I always try to eat protein for breakfast (like egg) to help really nourish me. I also try to make smarter choices and slip some protein in my afternoon snack. My favorites: string cheese, chocolate covered almonds, toast or apples with almond butter. Don’t get me wrong, some days I have a bowl of chips, a cupcake, or something else that is naughty. I think it’s all about balance and sometimes, you just have to indulge.
HOW I’M SLEEPING
First trimester sleep was rough. With the waking up to pee almost every night that was one element. It’s likely the hormone changes that always get to me. Last pregnancy I had to take unisom to get some form of normal sleep. Since I started the diclegis at 6 weeks with 2 pills at night, I found that helped me sleep MUCH better. So for now, I am sleeping ok. Some nights are better than others. I do toss and turn alot.
EXERCISE
I didn’t really work out at all till at least around 10-11 weeks. Of course I was doing my daily walks with Otis etc and getting my steps in and my blood pumping. But I wanted to take it easy and honestly I didn’t have the energy to do anything before then. Starting at 11 weeks I started short 10 minute workouts on my elliptical that we have in our garage and Blake got me for Christmas. I try to do that, or just walk briskly on our treadmill for 10-15 minutes. There are weeks I barely get 1 “workout” if you even want to call it that. Basically I just try to get my blood pumping whether I am walking for Otis’ morning walk or doing something else. I also started prenatal yoga class (virtually online) every week and its been music ot my soul. Great stretching and a great time for me to sit and connect with my body and the baby. It’s something I really enjoyed while pregnant with Otis so it’s a sense of comfort being able to participate even from my computer at home.
MEDS IM TAKING
For most of the first trimester, I stayed on alot of my IVF medications. I stayed on my prednisone steroids till 9 weeks and then weaned down my estrogen patches as well as weaned down to 1 progesterone injection a day. During this time, I did get some hormonal headaches with all the fluctuations but luckily they weren’t horrible and only lasted 2 days. I finally was able to stop all my meds (with the exception of baby aspirin and my diclegis) at my graduation appointment from the fertility clinic at 12 weeks!!! This was a HUGE milestone after literally doing injections and taking medications for almost a year in prep for each of my FET (frozen embryo transfer) cycles.
CHALLENGES
The biggest hurdles this pregnancy have been knowing and believing that feeling like crap would likely get better at the end of the first trimester. After a year of hormone meds, and then feeling awful my first trimester, a UTI, a yeast infection from the meds of the UTI (sorry TMI!!) I got to the point where being in my own skin was just frustrating. Being pregnant is a WILD things because your body is completely taken over. It’s beautiful in many ways and also still really emotionally challenging in others. I am so thankful to see the light at the end of the tunnel of the first tri. But anyone else that is “IN IT” my heart hugs yours mamas. It’s tough!!
WHAT I’M WEARING
I feel everything comes on sooner with the second pregnancy and the need for stretchy things came sooner. When it comes to leggings, I still wear my pre-pregnancy lululemon align leggings which are high rise and so stretchy as well as my alo leggings that are really soft and a little lower rise. Both still fit comfortably and fit over my growing body. Toward the end of my first trimester, I ended up buying these maternity leggings from beyond yoga and I LOVE them. They feel like second skin and are so buttery soft. They come all the way up over your bump or you can also fold it down to go under. Highly suggest them as they are SO comfy.
Also because I don’t leave my house often (because of Covid-19) I wear a ton of sweats. These sets from Michael Stars have been a guilty pleasure because they are SO soft and made of terry material. I also love my sweat set from Tan Lines that Sivan sent over. The material is SO soft and I feel like a cool mom in them. Although Blake made fun of my crop top sweater. HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT IS COOL!!! I do enjoy wearing more cropped tops when pregnant to let the belly have it’s little bit of room. I did end up getting one pair of maternity denim from jbrand that actually fit great toward the end of my first trimester also. Will report back when I wear them out. Equally stretchy too.
I did buy 3 bras from skims that I have been loving too. This scoop bra, this triangle bra and this nursing bra are all GREAT. I wanted to see what the hype was about with this brand and I have to say the materials are ON POINT. VERY comfy. If you plan to order, SIZE UP and size up big time. I got at least size L in everything because my boobs are enormous now and I feel their stuff runs small. I also have a ton of bras from Otis’ pregnancy. From last pregnancy, I have my hatch and bravado bras that I wear weekly also.
It’s different for the second pregnancy because you start showing and feeling bigger sooner (at least in my case) so you are in that in between period of not fully having a bump but feeling large and awkward if that makes sense. I have to say, a perk of pandemic life is the fact that I am mostly in lounge wear so I have been able to avoid real clothes for most of the first trimester aside from doctors appointments etc.
SELF LOVE
First trimester was just really challenging with not feeling well constantly. Hard to give yourself self love, in a pandemic, with no childcare help. If anything, I tried to listen to my body, and lay down when Otis was napping and try my best to give my body the much needed rest it was craving. Nearing the end of the first tri, showers and a blow dry were my self care routine and even an at home mani/pedi. Feeling better was already such a treat and allowed me the time to do some other things for myself. I think it’s just so important to listen to your body and slow down when you need it.

BABY PREPARATIONS
So we didn’t do much to prep for baby in the first trimester except for me sharing our good news with my good friend (and interior design guru) Anne! She helped to plan out the interiors of our whole home including master bedroom, living and dining rooms, and most recently Otis’ nursery. I basically texted her and forced her to dream up Baby #2 nursery ideas so we are currently working on that! IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC.
WHAT’S NEXT
I am looking forward to more ultrasounds!!!! I can not WAIT for my anatomy scan at 20 weeks to get some more face time with baby. Other than that, it’s check off each week as an incredible milestone and try to remain as active as I can to help get my body strong for delivery again. It’s exciting to near the half mark and be buying things for baby, talking to Otis about the baby and just imagining our life together as a family. I honestly am still in shock everyday. I feel lucky everyday. Our rainbows have brighten out life immensely and I am so excited to continue to share our journey with you all. Big love from all of us.

Like my first pregnancy, pregnancy brain is a REAL THING. I swear the moment I got pregnant my brain turned to mush. It’s hard to explain but I can’t remember anything to save my life. Lol!
Exhaustion
I was a new level of tired being pregnant and chasing a toddler. Truth be told being in a pandemic didn’t help either. Not being able to take him places etc. I was very tired but the sickness bothered me more than being tired.
Constipation
Sorry if that’s TMI but wow the constipation was bad this time around. The first month or two was tough and I know it also has alot to do with how much progesterone is in my body. Since I wasn’t drinking coffee after my transfer right away, it was extra tough. I always feel like coffee gets me moving. HA! I know. So much TMI. You’re welcome.
Baby bump
This time around I feel my belly popped out a lot sooner! At 14 weeks I feel I had a tiny little bump. I am sure I will look back and be like, WOW that wasn’t much of a bump but it’s when I felt there was a defined transformation.
HOW I’M FEELING: MENTALLY
I think similarly to my first pregnancy, after so much loss (with each of our failed embryo transfers) you keep waiting and holding your breath as each week passes you by. Each week it’s own milestone. And you find yourself thinking, “Oh I will feel good once I hear the heart beat!” “Oh I will feel good when I hit the second trimester.” But really, I think there is always a sense of unease as you move through the process. I think it’s healthy to be a little bit nervous. It’s honest. I think things have just been more stressful with the fact that we are still in a global pandemic because of Covid-19. That has put alot of stress on us keeping our family safe during these times and staying as isolated as we can while also being aware of taking care of our mental health. We are very fortunate living where we do to be able to spend time together outdoors and that has been great for the mind and body. Really, I go to bed, and wake up every day just so damn grateful knowing that I am growing life and repeating to myself that I AM PREGNANT. And THIS IS OUR CHANCE. This is our miracle. It’s been such an emotional roller coaster to get to this point and really, despite any outside stressors buzzing around, I am just so grateful and smile so big everyday knowing that next Summer I get to make Otis a big brother.
WHAT I’M EATING
First trimester for me was CARBS. CARBS and MORE CARBS. Honestly most days I barely had an appetite because of how sick I felt but I know how important it was to nourish my body. So I would basically have to force myself to have my meals. ESPECIALLY when it came to dinner. I had no appetite at all at night. It was bad.
That being said, I didn’t have any coffee for weeks. First off because I avoid caffeine after my embryo transfer and didn’t feel comfortable drinking it until after I heard the heartbeat. At a certain point, when my nausea would allow in the am and I was in the mood for coffee, I started to drink it again. I started with decaf but then had some headaches and my doctor always encourages me to have 1 cup of caffeine to help with my headaches. What I was drinking and couldn’t stop was bubble water (or carbonated water) whatever you like to call it. I usually prefer lukewarm drinks but this pregnancy I was craving ICED COLD bubble water. We actually ended up getting this carbonated water maker and we literally use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. For some reason the cold bubble water just helped with my nausea believe it of not.
Thankfully eggs were a lifesaver for me and I could tolerate them. My favorite go to breakfast that didn’t make me want to throw up: a piece of toast, a tiny bit of mayo, and a sliced hard boiled egg with salt and pepper. I basically ate that every day. I also had a lot of bagels with cream cheese when I wasn’t feeling great. Food was just tough so we didn’t meal plan as much so I could eat more what I could stomach that day.
As the first trimester went on, I was able to eat more regularly. I always try to eat protein for breakfast (like egg) to help really nourish me. I also try to make smarter choices and slip some protein in my afternoon snack. My favorites: string cheese, chocolate covered almonds, toast or apples with almond butter. Don’t get me wrong, some days I have a bowl of chips, a cupcake, or something else that is naughty. I think it’s all about balance and sometimes, you just have to indulge.
HOW I’M SLEEPING
First trimester sleep was rough. With the waking up to pee almost every night that was one element. It’s likely the hormone changes that always get to me. Last pregnancy I had to take unisom to get some form of normal sleep. Since I started the diclegis at 6 weeks with 2 pills at night, I found that helped me sleep MUCH better. So for now, I am sleeping ok. Some nights are better than others. I do toss and turn alot.
EXERCISE
I didn’t really work out at all till at least around 10-11 weeks. Of course I was doing my daily walks with Otis etc and getting my steps in and my blood pumping. But I wanted to take it easy and honestly I didn’t have the energy to do anything before then. Starting at 11 weeks I started short 10 minute workouts on my elliptical that we have in our garage and Blake got me for Christmas. I try to do that, or just walk briskly on our treadmill for 10-15 minutes. There are weeks I barely get 1 “workout” if you even want to call it that. Basically I just try to get my blood pumping whether I am walking for Otis’ morning walk or doing something else. I also started prenatal yoga class (virtually online) every week and its been music ot my soul. Great stretching and a great time for me to sit and connect with my body and the baby. It’s something I really enjoyed while pregnant with Otis so it’s a sense of comfort being able to participate even from my computer at home.
MEDS IM TAKING
For most of the first trimester, I stayed on alot of my IVF medications. I stayed on my prednisone steroids till 9 weeks and then weaned down my estrogen patches as well as weaned down to 1 progesterone injection a day. During this time, I did get some hormonal headaches with all the fluctuations but luckily they weren’t horrible and only lasted 2 days. I finally was able to stop all my meds (with the exception of baby aspirin and my diclegis) at my graduation appointment from the fertility clinic at 12 weeks!!! This was a HUGE milestone after literally doing injections and taking medications for almost a year in prep for each of my FET (frozen embryo transfer) cycles.
CHALLENGES
The biggest hurdles this pregnancy have been knowing and believing that feeling like crap would likely get better at the end of the first trimester. After a year of hormone meds, and then feeling awful my first trimester, a UTI, a yeast infection from the meds of the UTI (sorry TMI!!) I got to the point where being in my own skin was just frustrating. Being pregnant is a WILD things because your body is completely taken over. It’s beautiful in many ways and also still really emotionally challenging in others. I am so thankful to see the light at the end of the tunnel of the first tri. But anyone else that is “IN IT” my heart hugs yours mamas. It’s tough!!
WHAT I’M WEARING
I feel everything comes on sooner with the second pregnancy and the need for stretchy things came sooner. When it comes to leggings, I still wear my pre-pregnancy lululemon align leggings which are high rise and so stretchy as well as my alo leggings that are really soft and a little lower rise. Both still fit comfortably and fit over my growing body. Toward the end of my first trimester, I ended up buying these maternity leggings from beyond yoga and I LOVE them. They feel like second skin and are so buttery soft. They come all the way up over your bump or you can also fold it down to go under. Highly suggest them as they are SO comfy.
Also because I don’t leave my house often (because of Covid-19) I wear a ton of sweats. These sets from Michael Stars have been a guilty pleasure because they are SO soft and made of terry material. I also love my sweat set from Tan Lines that Sivan sent over. The material is SO soft and I feel like a cool mom in them. Although Blake made fun of my crop top sweater. HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT IS COOL!!! I do enjoy wearing more cropped tops when pregnant to let the belly have it’s little bit of room. I did end up getting one pair of maternity denim from jbrand that actually fit great toward the end of my first trimester also. Will report back when I wear them out. Equally stretchy too.
I did buy 3 bras from skims that I have been loving too. This scoop bra, this triangle bra and this nursing bra are all GREAT. I wanted to see what the hype was about with this brand and I have to say the materials are ON POINT. VERY comfy. If you plan to order, SIZE UP and size up big time. I got at least size L in everything because my boobs are enormous now and I feel their stuff runs small. I also have a ton of bras from Otis’ pregnancy. From last pregnancy, I have my hatch and bravado bras that I wear weekly also.
It’s different for the second pregnancy because you start showing and feeling bigger sooner (at least in my case) so you are in that in between period of not fully having a bump but feeling large and awkward if that makes sense. I have to say, a perk of pandemic life is the fact that I am mostly in lounge wear so I have been able to avoid real clothes for most of the first trimester aside from doctors appointments etc.
SELF LOVE
First trimester was just really challenging with not feeling well constantly. Hard to give yourself self love, in a pandemic, with no childcare help. If anything, I tried to listen to my body, and lay down when Otis was napping and try my best to give my body the much needed rest it was craving. Nearing the end of the first tri, showers and a blow dry were my self care routine and even an at home mani/pedi. Feeling better was already such a treat and allowed me the time to do some other things for myself. I think it’s just so important to listen to your body and slow down when you need it.

BABY PREPARATIONS
So we didn’t do much to prep for baby in the first trimester except for me sharing our good news with my good friend (and interior design guru) Anne! She helped to plan out the interiors of our whole home including master bedroom, living and dining rooms, and most recently Otis’ nursery. I basically texted her and forced her to dream up Baby #2 nursery ideas so we are currently working on that! IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC.
WHAT’S NEXT
I am looking forward to more ultrasounds!!!! I can not WAIT for my anatomy scan at 20 weeks to get some more face time with baby. Other than that, it’s check off each week as an incredible milestone and try to remain as active as I can to help get my body strong for delivery again. It’s exciting to near the half mark and be buying things for baby, talking to Otis about the baby and just imagining our life together as a family. I honestly am still in shock everyday. I feel lucky everyday. Our rainbows have brighten out life immensely and I am so excited to continue to share our journey with you all. Big love from all of us.

I am a safe driver. I've never had a car accident or ticket. As a consequence of my choices, I pay very low rates for car insurance. Other people I know have had accidents and many tickets, they pay a lot for car insurance. In this system, each person pays a different rate based on the consequences of their choices and actions. So what is wrong with this system? Why can't we use the exact same system for health insurance? If I eat right, exercise, and wash my hands then I will rarely get ill and should pay very low insurance rates. My neighbor eats junk food, smokes, and never exercises, has lots of medical issues and will for as long as he lives, shouldn't he pay a much higher rate for insurance? Why would anybody want a government system in which we will both pay the same rate? That is blatantly unfair to me since I make good choices and wont get sick as often. 10 Day Juice Cleanse
I was recently approached to take part in a 10 day juice cleanse ran by two local business’s, Anne-Marie from Optimal Health and Wellness and Claire from Conscious Kitchen. The 10 days comprise of 5 juices per day along with 3 colonic’s spread over the course of the cleanse.
I have suffered for years with chronic stomach complaints, irregular bowels and bloating which was finally diagnosed as colitis as a couple of years back. Along side this, constant fatigue and trouble sleeping, even though I am a strict vegan and eat pretty well.
This seemed like a great opportunity to reset my body and try something quite extreme and new.
In 2016 I left the country to travel Asia for a year, after a few months travelling my stomach complaints appeared to disappear, I was eating a lot differently to home and had no stress so I guess that contributed. I started to put on a bit of weight which I needed. However towards the end of my travels I didn't feel comfortable any more, both in myself and looks, id put on a stone over the year which doesn't seem a lot to most people but to me this was a huge amount to my already small frame.
Over that year id treated my body pretty badly without even realising, Asian food is pretty amazing although with that comes a lot of sugar, salt and the dreaded MSG. I tried to eat as healthy as I could however backpacking is pretty hard going and you can easily spiral out of control with all the unregulated beers, fizzy drinks and sweet treats.
Id wanted to do a cleanse like this for some time but needed that extra push to do it so I decided to go ahead with it, what did I have to loose, I was also helping Anne-Marie and Claire test out this new package so I was doing good for them to by playing guinea pig for the next 10 days.
Ben has decided to do the first 3 days with me! <3

Friday - Day 1

Woke up not feeling great, Id had a busy week and no sleep so felt exhausted before I even started the juices. Started off the morning with a tasty tangy green juice, this is ok … or so I thought.
Around mid morning I started to get the worse headache. This lasted the whole day and didn't help I was busy at work bending down and picking stuff up gave me a horrible head rush and numbing pressure feeling.
Besides the head ache im not hungry so that's a plus. Through out the day I had two green detox juices, along with two beetroot juices and to finish off the day a tomato soup.
After work I went straight to the clinic for my first colonic!, it actually went OK I was dreading it but it was fine and Anne-Marie was really good and spoke throughout the whole half an hour so it didn't feel uncomfortable at all. A lot of old waste was evident so it was a really successful colonic. Felt pretty good afterwards and not uncomfortable during the evening like I usually do from over indulging during the day.
Dinner was really nice, however id usually have double the portion accompanied by a few slices of fresh toasted bread haha, so I ate the soup as slowly as I could savouring every last mouthful.
Im a snacker so this is my main problem, especially as its the weekend and usually ill have a treat while watching a film on a Friday night, instead I drank lots of detox tea with lemon and honey, plus lots of warm water, this helped to keep me satisfied.
No matter how much water I drank today my head ache was still clinging on. I was shattered so went to bed feeling a bit rough. What have I got myself into!…
Saturday - Day 2
Weight – 115.6Ibs/8.257st
Woke up feeling pretty groggy. Had a foggy headache all day until the afternoon when it started to slowly go away. Again I wasn't hungry at all just bored of the same stuff… and its only day 2!
My skin broke out today with a few spots on my face, this is most likely from the colonic. Going to make sure I treat my skin with a few face masks over the week.
Clay Mud Mask, made my skin feel amazing, I also used a bentonite clay mask later in the week, this stuff is awesome you can also drink it to aid detoxing.
Went to the osteopath late morning for treatment which made me feel a bit better and took my mind off the headache.
Today was pretty difficult as usually we go out to eat and drink at the weekends, so mentally I think it was tougher, we saw our friends and they were all going for dinner and drinks so I felt a bit jealous, so instead I went shopping and treated myself to some skincare, bath goodies and a new fluffy dressing gown!
Later on we decided to go and get a Thai deep tissue massage, this is great for detoxing as it helps release toxins. And it makes you feel good and relaxed.
Even though this was the hardest day mentally after the massage we got back and had carrot soup which was really nice and I felt satisfied, we watched a film and was in bed by around midnight, felt exhausted still so it was good to get some rest.
Again my stomach feels a lot better small amount of bowel movements and no pain so that's positive.
Time of the month has arrived unexpectedly! Brilliant! Grrrrrrr, this is going to be awful.
(I later found out from Anne-Marie that cleansing can bring this on as the body is detoxing, another lady on the cleanse also came on soon after she started)
Sunday - Day 3
Weight – 114Ibs/8.143st
Had a rough night, night sweats (which I suffer with anyway) but I think my body is starting to go through the detox process. Woke up a couple of times in the night and had to change my clothes.
Besides this I woke up with no head ache and felt OK! And I wasn't feeling hungry!
Decided to jump in the bath and filled it with Epsom bath salts, and a nice bath bomb as I was feeling a bit achey from the osteopath and massage. Its important to treat your body when detoxing, salt baths are key in helping to relieve any pain and they also aid the detox, by drawing out toxins from the skin!.

Went to see my parents in the afternoon, bad choice!, Mum was cooking a roast! Stayed for a couple of hours then went back to Ben's as I couldn't be in the house any longer haha.
I've had lots of energy today, which is surprising as I thought id feel worse. Im missing my beloved coffee, mainly for the taste and smell, but I don't feel like I need it to stay awake or give me buzz. Started to get sleepy earlier on in the evening to what I usually do so went to bed at a reasonable time and slept through the night!
Today's juices were a bit different, I had a carrot and fennel juice which was weird but actually quite tasty, the regular two green detox juices, two beet juices and today's soup was a spicy broth which was really nice.

Monday - Day 4

Feeling really good today, not tired and groggy and more importantly not craving coffee!. Also im not particularly hungry, had another salt bath as I was starting work later today so started my juices at around 10:30am. Work was bearable and I didn't get any headaches. Really feeling the difference today and feel a lot lighter and alert.
Laid in bed that night and realised a lot of my chronic pain has disappeared, I usually ache a lot all over but its gone down, not sure if its the salt baths or a combo of the juices but I feel really good and relaxed.
My stomach is a bit iffy and noisy today but generally its been OK.
I usually have a rash/little bumps on the backs of both of my arms but this has nearly disappeared!

Tuesday - Day 5
Weight – 108Ibs/7st 10 (different scales)
Nothing much to report, dropping weight and feeling great! Worked the late shift today which I think was easier with the juices as I waited till nearly lunch time to start my juices.
Wednesday - Day 6
Weight – 106Ibs/7st 8 (different scales)
So much energy and feeling great I can notice my body changing inside and out my stomach is flat and I’m starting to see definition again rather than a little pop belly! Feeling a lot better about myself and excited to carry on and feel even more benefits.
Starting to tire of the juices a bit and feeling the cold more, those who know me know im always cold any way so im struggling a bit with that.
My period has been pretty heavy and different which it isn't usually, this is another sign of the body going through detoxification. (it ended up lasting 6 days compared to my regular 3 day cycle)
Thursday - Day 7
Weight – (didn't weigh today as I've been using different scales so its not accurate)
Feeling pretty great, my skin feels soft and no break outs, lots of energy. Must admit im getting bored of just juices now, I love cooking and eating im missing this the most. Work went OK finished a bit earlier had another salt bath before heading to Anne-Marie’s for my second colonic. Went well again, old waste still evident. Feeling really light today but also quite hungry, had my last juice of the day then went to meet some friends, which was nice.
Friday – Day 8

Busy day at work so I felt pretty tired and run down today. Juices were a bit different today which was refreshing, started with a watermelon juice (my fav) and also some blue algae juices (my least fav) Met up with friends in the evening for dinner! Well I watched as they scoffed pizza, super jealous but I had some olives…. Not exactly a delicious pizza but at least it was something a bit different and I didn't look like a total weirdo not eating in a restaurant watching my friends eat, haha.

Really bored of not eating now, its the weekend again and I just want to go out for brunch!, eat beans on toast and drink delicious coffee, so I did… watched Ben eat a cooked breakfast, while I sipped on a juice! Haha.
Feeling a bit moody about it today, but its nearly over. Even though im feeling a bit shitty today mentally, I physically feel really good, so I cant complain, im glad I’ve done it and really starting to rethink about the sort of things I will eat and drink after the cleanse is over.
We did some shopping and when I got back felt pretty sleepy so I had a nap before we made our way to Ben's family for a birthday, again this was nice but im missing eating and drinking beers. Got home and slept through the whole night! This is a rarity for me. The caffeine has finally left my body and my sleep is definitely improving.
Sunday - Day 10 – The Last Leg

Even though I slept loads im feeling a bit groggy today and impatient, its the last day!
I started the day like normal,...another juice! While I made Ben crumpets! How nice am I!?
Now I really was looking forward to the end of the cleanse. I love juices, smoothies and weird healthy foods and drinks. However after 10 days of not actually eating it starts to become very mundane. I love cooking, creating exciting dishes and more importantly eating them, so that's been the most difficult part for me. I spent the next few hours writing, drinking more juices and had a nice bath.
4pm soon rolled round and I was ready for my final colonic and summary chat with Anne-Marie and Claire. I spoke to them about my highs and lows over the last 10 days and how I feel so much better than before.
Both of the girls have noticed a big change in my appearance, my skin has become much better, my eyes are brighter, my stomach issues are pretty much non existent. The biggest change has been the energy, I feel so much more with it that I did. Im going to kick the coffee habit during the week and save it as a treat for the weekends, and also eat smaller portions to what I have been.
Its Monday morning I've woke up even lighter, my final weight from the cleanse is 111Ibs/7.929st.
My favourite thing to eat is breakfast foods so Im going to have my first proper meal, a veggie cooked breakfast made by my lovely Mum.
Delicious, probably the slowest I’ve eaten in a while, my jaw ached a bit having to actually chew haha.
Im so glad I took part in this experiment and will be forever thankful to Anne-Marie and Claire for giving me the opportunity and support that they did.
