Sometimes when I'm birdwatching

#sometimes when i’m birdwatching #things that aren’t birds #these were the closest I got to fish #on my first tenkara angling attempt #I didn't actually try to catch these #I suspect they're chub rather than trout #not actually sure #my fish ID skills being much more rudimentary #but they were tiny #maybe 2 to 3 inches tops #I was doing the tenkara thing #in some of the deeper pools #which in this creek #means about 2-3 feet deep #basically bathtub-sized #I'm not sure there were any fish in there #I certainly didn't catch any #maybe one strike (if it wasn't a rock or a stick catching the fly)#one swirl at the surface that might have been a trout #but it was useful practice #and I look forward to applying what I learned #on a creek with actually visible trout #so I know if I don't catch any #that it's not just because they're not there #closer...

this was a project i worked on for an art mentorship program i was a part of last year, in which i got to work with an art director to illustrate a cover for any book of my choice. i picked wolfsong cause it's one of my most beloved books, and i had wanted to create a cover for it as a personal project for a long time 🧡

being adhd is crazy ill spend all day worrying that i’ve forgotten something, triple checking my calendar and my messages to make sure i haven’t missed an appointment or left someone hanging, and it still happens anyway. incredible

#i also have a lot of OH SHIT moments where i remember what i’ve forgotten #and in my quest to write it down / do it i somehow get sidetracked before i know it and then boom. it’s gone again #it just causes so much stress man. especially in a college setting which i am currently living #like what do you mean i have 6 classes all with different requirements and deadlines and communication methods #and i’m just? supposed to get everything done by the due date and not forget shit?#god. i’m not even complaining about my teachers or whatever they’re nice. i’m just complaining about my brain #lays face first in the creek. i am. so tired #gear diary
