Thinking about how everyone in pkmashe bw all die whether or not it’s literally (Hilbert (technically)) or metaphorically (the other four)
#Hilbert died and everyone died along with him for one reason or another#just not actually like him#they all die for different reasons and different ways#too#cheren dies in the public eyes of the people#bianca dies with no remaining positive memories of her life leading up to that moment#Hilda dies with the entire thing she lived for being ruined and something she can’t ever return to#n dies with no home to come back to in a world who didn’t know he existed up until that point#do these all make sense#i could probably explain better when it’s not almost 4am#essentially they all come back to what someone could consider what makes somebody human#whether it be perception. memories. passions. the concept of family#and how each have been ruined in some way with a respective character

Hello, I hope it's not rude but I'm REALLY REALLY fond of your art!!!!! I was scrolling through your blog from new to old and found that you have Bpd,,,. I only heard about this condition, what is it like? If it's ok to know,,,!
hello, thank u! uhm it's something? HAHAHAHA idk how to explain it 😭🏳 lemme try to be as direct as possible
I'm high-functioning, but there are points I seriously just start showing symptoms.
Emotions: INTENSE as it can get while FEELING 99 PERCENT EMPTY. Something just- keeps you so.. hungry (not literally). Sensory is also another factor, and honestly I burn out a lot, tend to get overwhelmed n meltdown like shit
Identity: I either have BEEF WITH it, feel GODLY, or be so LOW, really low. I live with both passion and hate. I'm very confused. But I can say I'm just tired!
Attachments: Relationships are so hard to maintain bc of how much I fear abandonment, like bro I can't even leave my family as much as I want to. I'm more scared of getting disowned or losing my name. Love is a concept I long to grasp at the same time scared of it, I don't understand jackshit about " love ".
> I tend to self-Isolate with or without reason
> ...I used to test other people whether they can handle me or not, whether they'd leave or not. Not anymore though, but the thought lingers.
> Very- paranoid- about.. perception, neglect and invalidity HAHA.
Mindset: They call it Black and White, or generally just two categories to label my perception of things. However, I try to understand AS MUCH AS I CAN about a situation, etc. See what's in-between before I decide. that's really hard for me to do LOL.
> I always do my best to think and be nice
> I can be so fucking bad at the same time, only to regret it the next second or so
> My mind is scattered all over the place, It's exhausting
Trauma: I have memory problems and a lot to connect with that. Hate and fear is what I'm accustomed to. I live with a fuck ton of active predicaments like hell. Old wounds keeps reopening, and new ones never closes.
Impulse: shows in speech more than in action (THANK GOD LMAO I'D DIE IF I LET MY INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS WIN)
Habits: uhm. Ranging from sunshine and rainbows to SELF-DESTRUCTIVE. I get obsessive, like.. really obsessive.
Coping mechanisms: Usually I have mood stabilizers and anti-depressants n shit, but I don't rely on them anymore (bc I can't keep buying). I don't have good coping mechanisms even for physical needs. It's so bad bro. So I just end up drawing. that's the only good one I can list.
Living with it: Exhausting and an internal war 24/7. Does it affect me physically? Yes. Does it come with other mental factors and conditions? Also yes! But as one of God's most tired soldiers, nothing I can do but keep walking.
What I'm confused about: dawg last time, i kept searching about how conditions co exists like— Thats normal?? N the last diagnosis I was in confirms it does and nothing to worry about. BLUD I AM DEF WORRYING. Autism n bpd? u mean my behavior and shit isnt meant to be invalid as most people perceive — u mean these fckass experiences built that bpd? ☠️ WHAT AM I THEN—
(I'm having a hard time believing it bc as an adult, it's harder to process information like these)
#messyr#uhh HAHA! people n my environment -- is like- all fun and games until you actually start showing mentally ill shit yknow?#like whoa didnt know ur fkin crazy or like in a way theyll say or avoid bc they cant handle what theyre seeing#some stays to understand and help and i am VERY grateful for them.#bpd#no i dont mind answering questions like these#if anything i like sharing the experience bc ik other people are able to relate to it or have the same#at least they know they are heard and valid#comorbid conditions

Of mugs and secrets (Or how Dante found out about your relationship with Vergil)
I finally finished after entire week of writing and editing! I never thought my first fanfic would be of 2223 words! I really hope you enjoy it! :D
The room was still dark as calmness reigned; the only sounds were the soft breathing on your ear of the man sleeping next to you. Vergil was spooning you, the warm feeling making a real struggle having to get up to start your day. You wiggle trying to move the least required, not wanting to disturb your boyfriend’s sleep, you almost made it, until he made some soft grunts. You froze fearing you might have woken him up, but he just turned to his side of the bed.
A smile found its way into your lips as you approached to kiss him ever so lightly on his mouth, then proceeding to leave the bedroom. You started to go through your day’s agenda in your head, the pendant paperwork waiting at work, visiting Nico to pick up your beloved, just repaired sword Polaris, and the appointment with a possible client. However, all your plans came to a halt the moment you notice a dark figure lying on the living room’s couch. Quietly you summon your spear Morgenstern out of thin air and approach the figure, looking around to see if something else was hiding in the shadows.
“Well now this is what I an exciting welcome (Y/N)” a sleepy familiar voice said making you jump out of the impression.
“My god… Dante! I was this close to stab you!”
“As you know, you wouldn’t be the only one sweetie” he sat on the couch while stretching his arms with an audible pop from his bones.
You met Dante when you were just a kid, with no family left, he rescued you from being a sacrifice for a greater demon since you were a Nephilim, however that seemed to be only the beginning of your problems. Demons appeared to be drawn to your blood like moths to a flame and thus, the week that you hadn’t been attacked by a demon, extremely uncommon. So instead of going to every orphanage or school you assisted to save you, Morrison decided it was for the best if Dante just adopted you. That way he could keep an eye on you, so no more civilians were put on danger, and also train you. Dante wasn’t in any sense qualified to adopting a little girl, but with your help (The motherly interventions of Lady and Trish, and some extra cash from Morrison) you two worked it out and in the process, perceived each other a bit like father and daughter.
“What on earth are you doing here?” you made Morgenstern disappear, heartbeat slowing down now that there was no real danger “And how did you get in?”
“Perks from my brand-new powers, and as for your first question… Let’s leave it I had kind of an emergency”
“Ok let’s review your concept of emergency” You leaned into him, taking carefully his face on your hands checking for any sings of cuts or bruises “does it involve injuries?”
“Not this time” he chuckled as you were still inspecting the rest of his body. After confirming the man was in one piece, you decided to head to the kitchen to start making breakfast with Dante following right behind you.
“An angry Trish or Lady?” you opened the fridge to start looking for the ingredients to make pancakes, you really stomach really needed some food now.
“Nah we just had drinks last week” he took a seat on the small kitchen table.
“Another powerful demon king about to be resurrected?” once you gathered everything you needed; you poured some flour along milk on the crystal bowl you took from the kitchen cabinet.
“Funny (Y/N) but no, not a demon, and somehow way more terrifying then one…Patty wants go out on a date with me” you almost dropped the egg you just grabbed for the batter, staring at him in disbelief on what he just said heard.
“Wait… so you broke into my apartment at” you looked at the clock next to the fridge “at 7:00 am just because you’re scared of a 19-year-old who wants a date with you?”
“I was coming back from a job! Morrison called me and he said a miss was waiting for me at DMC! Then I heard her voice on the phone! I’m not going anywhere with her when she’s faking a promise!”
“Dante…” Calm, take a deep breath you thought as you focused on inhaling deeply, he sure had a talent for making you lose your temper sometimes “are you serious? Both Morrison and I were there! I perfectly recall you saying when she’s turned old enough you would date her!
“Damn, so you’re saying she isn’t lying and I must keep my promise?”
“Yeah sure because I definitely want Patty to come on our already uncomfortable family dinners at Nero’s home” you answered sarcastically as you mixed the bowl’s ingredients “Just take her out to eat pizza or something, keep it as casual as possible so she doesn’t get her hopes up”
“Or... you could allow me to stay for a few days”
“Dante...”
“Please (Y/N) only 2 days!” he lifted up the chair and moved next to you “Just until she’s tired of stalking me!”
“Since you’re here not like I have much of a choice, do I?”
“I knew I could count on you!” Dante said while lifting you off the ground, on really strong hug just like he has done all these years since you were a kid.
“Be quiet!” you whisper loudly, squirming a bit in his tight embrace “Vergil is still sleeping!”
“Wait, what’s Verge doing here?” he dropped you while looking at you quite confused.
Oh, you just fucked up big this time… Dante was the only one who didn’t know about your relationship with Vergil. Unknowing of your past together when he was V, Dante’s father instincts awakened, as he warned you to stay away from Vergil, after noticing the constant glances you shared with his twin, fearing his brother got interested in you just because you were a Nephilim.
“He uh... went on a job yesterday, and uh he got poisoned by a demon so he needed someone to cure him!” That was the only excuse your sleepy brain was able to scheme in those few seconds, thinking Dante would buy it… then you remembered the eldest son of Sparda never asked for help.
“So, he decided to come here was the best idea?”
“Yeah” you tried to smile at him to look as convincing as possible.
“My brother looking for you to heal him?... All right never thought I’d see the day the dumbass put his pride aside and ask for help!”
“Heh… guess he still remembers one of the times I cured him when he was V” You sighed in relief, turning your attention on the coffee machine to prepare some, thinking you got away with your little lie until…
“But why he didn’t return to Devil May Cry?”
“I-it was really late and cold outside so I suggested he spent the night here “blush adorned your checks, once you realized the size of the stupidity you just said. “Al-also, I needed to be certain I cured the wound properly.
Dante just hummed and returned to his seat, whether he believed that poorly made answer or not, he didn’t say it. You were about to change topic, but were interrupted by a growling.
“Geez...” you couldn’t help but laugh lightly “I suppose you haven't eaten anything”
“Can’t lie at this point” You smiled at him. Once the coffee machine finished you poured some coffee on 3 cups that you placed on the counter. With all the noise, probably Vergil would join you both for breakfast.
“Stay right here, and don’t touch anything” you said as walking past beside him.
A shower was really much needed. You were already a bit late and didn’t want to waste more minutes, after all, you could always buy something to eat at work if you didn’t have time left. On the hallway to the bathroom you found the elder son of Sparda already got up.
“Oh, hi I thought you were still asleep” you stood on your tiptoes to give him a quick peck on his cheek “Didn’t want to wake you up”
“To whom I must thank for making Dante grace us with his presence this early in the morning?” his icy blue eyes showing an evident annoyance.
“That would be Patty… apparently the poor girl really wants a date with your brother to the point she’s waiting for him at Devil May Cry as we speak”
“I’m afraid that doesn’t justify why he’s here” a frown taking over his features.
“Well… “you played with a loose lock of your hair Lady and Trish aren’t home, Nico still wants to bang him and I’m not letting that happen, and finally Nero made crystal clear last time I spoke to him, he wanted Dante at least 10 mts away from Kyrie and Credo” Your best friends had just had their beautiful son, the last thing Nero needed was having Dante in their house with Kyrie so delicate after her pregnancy.
“Hmpf still he isn’t staying here” Vergil crossed his arms, his answer just as you predicted.
“Please I can’t kick him out of the apartment just like that! I bet if you were the one in his…”
“I would never find myself in such a ridiculous situation like this”
“Right, forget what I just said” you said a bit ashamed while scratching your head.
“Even if I did unlike Dante, I could find a solution on my own”
“My point is! He needs help” you cupped his face in your hands “I know we had plans but come on, it’s going to be just a couple of days” you gave him the best puppy eyes you could.
It wasn’t as frequent as you wished for Vergil to stay in your apartment, between your jobs and the constant efforts to hide the truth to Dante. That’s why those days where two of you just sat on a couch to read, or did any other silly activity together, became so precious memories.
“I promise I’ll make it up for you when he leaves” you whispered in his ear face turning red with the possible implications.
He pushed you carefully against a wall lifting you face and grazing with his thumb your plump lips.
“You should not take promises so lightly my dear angel” you melted at his words, his lips mere inches from yours “I fear you may have acquired my brother’s demeanors”
“Have I ever broken my word before?”
An almost imperceptible smile, one only you got to recognize adorned his face as he claimed your mouth on a passionate kiss, that to your perception didn’t last enough. But you didn’t complain once Vergil separated from you, the risk of being caught by Dante was way too high.
“He’s in the kitchen” you cleared your throat, trying to control your small gasps for air.
“I expected no less” he fixed his hair and clothes, erasing any sings of the kiss you just had.
“Welp I’m going to shower now, not taking long” you passed beside him and closed the bathroom’s door only to open it a few seconds later “Vergil wait! Geez I almost forgot; I left some coffee for you and Dante on the kitchen counter. I’m pretty sure you’ll know which mug is yours since your favorite mug broke in our tiny accident a few nights ago”
You winked playfully at him, but he only limited to clicked his tongue in disapproval and directed to the kitchen. Once Nico knew about your relationship with Nero’s deadbeat father (as she always called him) the mechanic wasted no time to tease, giving you a little present: a white mug with big blue letters that read I’m your daddy for your boyfriend to use. Obviously, once Vergil found out the existence of the mug, the first thing he wanted was to toss it on a trash can, but you didn’t allow it being a gift from Nico.
While you showered the guilt took over you for hiding Dante about you and Vergil. Maybe it was time to tell him the truth, after all, didn’t he always wanted for his brother to embrace his humanity and live a somewhat normal life? You stepped out of the bathroom once you finished, so deep in these thoughts that it wasn’t until you were on your way to the kitchen, that you noticed how quiet the house was. At this point you were so used to whenever the twins were together their heated conversations escalated quickly to an argument that sometimes required a third-party intervention, so the silence was really unusual.
“Ok now, is it okay for you guys to eat pan…cakes...”
Your voice lowered the volume as you looked at the scene before your eyes. Vergil and Dante were staring fixedly at each other with a murderous gaze, each one with a hand around the infamous cup, now you knew the real reason for the unusual silence, Dante must have assumed the mug was his.
“So…” you laugh nervously “I guess the cat is out of the bag.
The end

[ prologue | one | two | three | four | five | six | seven ]
It’s during the third day that Namjoon begrudgingly makes three mind-blowing discoveries. Firstly, he really needs to keep a better tab on his friends (aka he’s not a perceptive friend at all outside of Bangtan), secondly, Jimin really has no idea what they are saying to him and thirdly, he realizes that he can’t lie to save his life. (He should really work on a good way of introducing this Jimin to the others - he can’t lie about this.) But then again, it’s not like Namjoon lies to the members often, let alone enough to get some practice in. (But the thought of the cheeky brat called Taehyung that always plays along with his lies does annoy him. The younger always acts so gullible and innocent, never giving off any vibes of treason with those big brown puppy eyes. The nerve!)
The day starts rosy. Hues of red and lilac mix with faded blue in a slow, heavenly progression, calling for a mellow day in Korea’s capital. Namjoon enjoys it, takes a few photos of Seoul’s skyline that elegantly poses in front of the impressive canvas. His own lyrics travel through his mind, reminding him of the shifting image the metropolis takes in his mind, being so different than what he remembers from his first days with the members.
When he looks down through the window, there’s nothing he hasn’t seen before - the bustling of too many humans on too small sidewalks, pressed towards the high buildings by the loud traffic that separates them from the other side. Almost everyone chooses a fast walking pace in this part of Gangnam, born with a destination and stepping ahead with bold steps and expensive clothes.
Locking these images away as precious memories, Namjoon turns around, watching with golden anticipation how the first rays of sun slowly reach out to create a sight that he has never seen before. A baby leopard’s body softly rises and falls with every breath, nestled into the curving white sheets of the rapper’s bed. Thanks to the visiting sun’s light, the fur glows in a warm golden tone even through the dark spots almost make up all of the cub’s plushy baby pelt. He looks like a tiny glowing ball of fur. It’s a sight, truly a sight worth seeing every day, Namjoon thinks and takes a few nice pictures of his little dongsaeng. Pictures even Taehyung would frame and hang on his walls, right next to his thousand-dollar paintings.
At the moment, everything is quiet and Namjoon even hears his own heart rumbling its own chill melody, riding the soft indie playlist vibe. The only thing that makes him feel even better in this beautiful room with the big windows that let him see even Namsan Mountain dipped in the glorious sunrise is the feel of Jimin under his fingers.
At first, Namjoon is hesitant to even sit back on the bed. It would be a shame to wake my little dongsaeng up, he thinks, he’s sleeping so peacefully. But then a strange yet not unfamiliar sense of loneliness, of reclusion wraps around him in this early hour, struts in before he can close the door and he needs to feel another warm body close to himself. To his relief, Jimin doesn’t protest when he is slowly lifted against Namjoon’s t-shirt-clad chest. His little paws simply knead the firm underground and he finds a new way to curl up, not able to hold himself on his feet with the morning stuck inside his bones. He slightly tips over to the side and into Namjoon’s open hand.
It’s pleasant to have him here like this, Namjoon thinks, even if we don’t know what’s happening. Maybe Yoongi was right and this is a blessing rather than a curse. Until it ends, we’ll just cuddle and play. It sounds like a good plan in Namjoon’s mind and it’s enough to push away the bitter feelings that come with being an ever-recognizable idol who can’t even step in front of his own door without precautions.
Jimin doesn’t seem to sense his inner struggle, just comfortably nuzzles his snout into the rapper’s throat and falls asleep with his tail and legs slightly twitching against Namjoon’s palm. He must be dreaming. How adorable. The small movements remind him of Rapmon and with a longing sigh, he tells himself to pick her up later. When Jimin dreamily darts out to lick Namjoon’s jaw, he wonders whether Jimin and Rapmon would like each other. Whether the dog would recognize that this is Jimin, who she has played with many times before (even she can’t resist Jimin’s charms).
Namjoon’s soul feels light with the sun falling in gently and Jimin lathering him in kitty affection at the same time. He can only hope that Rapmon likes sharing.
Breakfast goes… okay. It’s not difficult to get Jimin to munch happily on meat. It’s just that he’s so easily distracted (and by the smallest things, really) that Namjoon has to catch him from rolling off the table twice and after relocating to the floor, retrieves Jimin from underneath the sofa, not once, not twice, but four times. There is just one incredibly bold (and lucky) ladybug inside the apartment with them and there seems to be no other explanation; this one must be part of the Resistance because even when Namjoon carries it outside, it just comes back and continues crawling over any given surface. Namjoon notes with a discouraged sigh that all his parenting methods and tactics are useless with his dongsaeng now.
The first time Jimin catches it in his mouth Namjoon has all the mind to let him have this victory and get him back to breakfast (Jimin’s stalked after the bug for five minutes, looking disheveled and dirty as he’s collected every single cloud of dust from behind the bookshelves and Namjoon is not koniophobic in any way, but he simply doesn’t have the nerve to wash Jimin ten times a day).
The second time the dancer catches the red little thing in his mouth (yeah, because it escaped the first time, good job Jimin), Namjoon looks to heaven while he waits for the crunch. It doesn’t come. Instead, he has to deal with a regretful-looking cub that puts its paws on his thighs and meows some hardly understandable pleas at him while opening its mouth. He has no idea what it means but he spots the wet little bug and digs it out. The second it’s out in the open, Jimin excitedly paws at it, effectively tossing it through the room and sprinting after it before Namjoon can complain or even remember that he wanted his dongsaeng to eat this nutritious breakfast that required twenty minutes (!) of passionate research. But the kitty plays and just when the hyung rises to pick up the happy-go-lucky cub, the doorbell rings.
Shit. A shock flows through Namjoon’s body without him even knowing who this is going to be. It could be Yoongi, who has forgotten something in his room (unlikely, he’s got all one could need to survive a zombie apocalypse in that studio of his), or any other member who took a few trains too early to surprise the leader with a premature return (just as unlikely, they will all spend as much time with their families as possible). Other than that, there is a slight possibility that staff is at the door, sent by management with some new information about their upcoming tour or schedule changes or maybe a new sponsoring deal. Shit, it might be staff. I haven’t checked my mails or my schedule since we came home. Who else can get into the building?
There’s just a slight issue that comes with the reassuring knowledge that this is staff (staff is on very good terms with all the members). Staff can’t see Jimin like this. Namjoon moves fast, grabs a complaining but weak cub with a thrashing tail and a little ladybug provocatively crawling over his face. For a lack of good hiding places and time, the rapper places the kitty in a drawer in the next room. Best solution, he thinks, (pats his own shoulder for his problem-solving skills) and rushes towards the door when the bell rings for the third time.
Trying to present himself as a collected, calm human being with no leopard cubs hidden in his apartment’s drawers, Namjoon remembers his stage breathing exercises, takes a really deep breath (and a second one, for good measure) and moves a hand through his hair. A soft meow that sounds like a confused question sounds in the distance and he hopes he can either get this business done outside the apartment or that whoever is out there won’t be able to pick up Jimin’s vocalizations. (He is aware that separating the cub from the only parental figure in his life so spontaneously can’t be good, but he shoos that gut feeling away in hopes of good luck.) The bad feeling is accompanied with a crashing sound in the distance that makes Namjoon’s head whip around so hard he might get neck strains later. The little leopard, undeterred by his fall and crash, runs to the door immediately.
“Oh God, no, Jimin-ah,” Namjoon pants in surprise and tries to grab the little one who is just way too curious for his own good. Those blue eyes glow with babylike innocence and Namjoon has to hold on to the wall to not fall for the younger’s charms. No, he wants to say sternly, but something tells him the little leopard doesn’t understand the concept of… things… yet. So all he can do before the doorbell rings a fourth time is to kinda push Jimin away gently and ignore the playful mewl and the sharp claws digging into his big toe. That should occupy him enough, Namjoon hopes and grabs the door handle.

Lover’s Exploration of Love
Taylor has spoken about how she explores every dynamic of love and not just the good times. After listening to the album on repeat for a day and a half, I’ve created this list of the types of love I’ve found within each track. Enjoy and reblog if you want!
Track 1 - I Forgot That you Existed
Love of freedom / Loving yourself
That moment when you finally get over that one person causing your grief in your life whether it’s an ex partner or ex friend
Track 2 - Cruel Summer
Trapped love
The exploration of a fresh relationship with the new concept of secrecy and the impacts of hiding from the public eye.
Track 3 - Lover
Pure love
Looking over at your significant other and just knowing that no matter what, you want to spend the rest of your life with them. Pure and innocent love, the feeling the nobody else in the world matters.
Track 4 - The Man
Love/preference of men in society
The sexism that is quite prominent in society and the clear divide between men and women who do the exact same thing and are labelled under different connotations.
Track 5 - The Archer
Fragile love
The kind of love that is so precious you’re almost scared to commit to due to previous experiences in love and in life. The most anxious song on the album but also one of the sweetest as she slowly figures out that she’s “alright right here”
Track 6 - I Think He Knows
Reciprocated love
Love that is undeniable from the moment of the first meeting. This song is reminiscent of the rush of joy and utter happiness you see when you look at your significant other and they look at you the same way
Track 7 - Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince
Love throughout external turmoil
When one person in the relationship is facing difficulty but the relationship is their sacred place. The feeling that you are loved and protected in spite of trouble.
Track 8 - Paper Rings
Excitement in love
You don’t need diamonds or luxurious gifts to show that you absolutely adore your significant other. Their presence is enough. Love isn’t material!!!
Track 9 - Cornelia Street
Love of memories as a result of love
The weight that places hold when magical memories are made in a location with a significant other.
Track 10 - Death by a Thousand Cuts
Loss of love
Love in a worst case scenario in which a carefully crafted and longstanding relationship burns out. Genuine heartbreak and denial “it’s just a thousand cuts”
Track 11 - London Boy
Foreign love
(also a personal love song to JOE 🥰)
Just a fun bop showing how much Taylor loves English accents
Track 12 - Soon You’ll Get Better (ft The Dixie Chicks)
Family love
The torment felt when someone you love so dearly is dealing with hardship and how you sometimes have to let them deal with it in their own way whilst supporting them. Trying your best to show them that you’re okay so that they can get better and feel comfortable even if you’re not okay. A raw expression of the connection between parents and their children and the impacts of illness on an entire family.
Track 13 - False God
Love for a relationship itself
Facing issues in a relationship but discovering that no matter what happens you can’t bear to pull away from your significant other because the good times triumph the bad times.
(This feels like an extension on the line in DBM “my drug is my baby” as well as the themes of that song)
Track 14 - You Need to Calm Down
Love of EVERYONE
The all inclusive anthem dealing with a myriad of societal issues. Demonstrates the ability to respect another’s opinion while explaining why it’s not preferable. Encouragement cityyyyyyyyy. Loving every single person on planet Earth regardless of gender experession, race, sexuality, nationality, language, status etc.
Track 15 - Afterglow
Repairing love
Genuine and heartfelt apology following a self initiated argument. Understanding that sometimes oneself makes mistakes in causing arguments over the smaller issues and the realisation that no matter what happens, love shouldn’t be destroyed over the small problems.
(Reminds me of her Elle interview in which she recommends learning to make a genuine apology when you’ve down something wrong)
Track 16 - ME! (Ft Brendon Urie)
Self-love and confidence in a relationship
Acknowledgement of one’s own faults but allowing yourself to fall head over heels in love with somebody and the mutual understanding that you’ll get through any troubles together because you’re a perfect match.
Track 17 - It’s Nice to Have a Friend
Unexpected love
Love derived from a once innocent friendship and how childish but exciting it feels upon finding out that the other person ‘likes’ you.
Track 18 - Daylight
Security in a loving relationship
Angelic lyrics showcasing passion in love. Being totally smitten with your partner that the rest of the world and darkness shatters when you see/think of them. Past mistakes are mended and that perceptions of love change depending on who is giving you the love you experience.
@taylorswift Did I get it right or did I just completely miss the target? 😂

✨You are Lava! (Fire/Earth)
Tagged by: @canspotatimeagent
Tagging: Steal it!
The Volcanic element combines the will-power, courage, and brilliant vision of Fire with the diligence, stability, and common sense of earth. That is an excellent recipe for success. Lava combines the abstract, big-picture vision of Fire and the detailed precision of Earth to get things done. Lava enjoys setting bold, daring, nearly impossible goals, then slowly but surely making it happen – all perfectly according to plan. Everything in Lava’s life goes to serve The Plan: an extremely complex life-long plan for success that incorporates every foreseeable variable and contingency. Often, Lava begins making The Plan while still a small child and continues to refine it and re-work it across his or her life. Their ability to predict the future is mysterious and can be either inspiring or terrifying depending on whether Lava is a friend or enemy. In some, this predictive power is based on a deep, abstract understanding of the universe and its patterns and meanings. In others, it is due to a keen memory, concrete reasoning, and an ability to predict the future by analyzing past behavior. Lava is also family-oriented; it uses its tremendous energy and consistent devotion to serve and love friends and family. Beneath the fierce, stubborn exterior is a real, genuine, human warmth and a loyal love that will never die. Those lucky enough to be in Lava’s inner circle are blessed indeed. They are fiercely protective of those they love and would do absolutely anything for them. Respect, honor, integrity, and courage matter a great deal to Lava. Such respect is earned, never given. Since this Mixed Element combines the two dry elements (Fire and Earth), Lava will tend to be very dry. Here, “dryness” refers to being resistant to change or outside forces – i.e. being decisive, consistent, logical, and stubborn.
Core Strengths: Lava is brave, bold, ambitious, strong-willed, energetic, charismatic, honest, loyal, just, honorable, dedicated, stable, practical, orderly, structured, fair-minded, patient, rational, respectful, and dependable. Possible Weaknesses: When immature, Lava might be arrogant, angry, harsh, bitter, jealous, greedy, stiff, callous, have judgmental tendencies, bossy, excessively competitive, and too focused.
Lava can be made by Fire and Earth in many ways. INTJ can be thought of as a cool Fire – just as ambitious, bold, visionary, abstract, and driven, but with a calmer, more patient, more introverted nature. In the alternative, INTJs can be thought of as a more ambitious and much more abstract version of Earth. INTJ may occasionally show up as Ice if the INTJ in question is introverted enough. ESTJ can be thought of as Earth heated up – just as practical, diligent, stubborn, and stable, but with much more ambition, drive, and extroversion. In the alternative, ESTJ can be thought of as a much more concrete, practical, and methodical version of Fire. ENTJs and ISTJs may occasionally show up as Lava, though they are normally pure Fire and pure Earth respectively. Functions: Extroverted Thinking, Introverted Sensing, Introverted Intuition, and introverted feeling Enneagram Types: 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8 Platonic Solid: Pyramid (Tetrahedron) and Cube (Hexahedron) Aristotelian Environment: Dry (Either Hot or Cool) Temperament: Choleric/Melancholic or Melancholic/Choleric Cardinal Virtue: Courage (Fortitudo) Yin-Yang: Full Yang and New Yin Opposite Element: Mist/Cloud/Rain (Air/Water) – While Lava is the element of law, order, stability, practicality, diligence, tradition, bravery, willpower, liveliness, and long-term vision, Mist is spontaneous, free, adaptable, idealistic, cosmopolitan, caution, compassion, calm, and artistic.
Fire Summary: Fire is the element of will-power, courage, and vision. Fire is an active, focused, goal-oriented element. It is courageous, bold, strong-willed, passionate, ambitious, and fiercely dedicated. Fire insists on always moving onward and upward, always boldly going somewhere. It needs a goal, a direction, a dream to pursue. When given a noble goal, nothing is more majestic than Fire as it breaks through all obstacles, transcends all boundaries, and forges ahead through all hardships to make dreams into reality. Fire has a strong sense of justice, honor, and integrity. Fire is the spark of inspiration, flashes of deep insight, and bold visions for the future. It is creativity, plans, goals, intuition, patterns, archetypes, and the sense of a cosmic driving purpose. Fire is passion, so apathy is a foreign concept to it. Fire has strong opinions and beliefs about pretty much everything. This passion carries over into all areas of life, whether it is work, school, hobbies or personal relations. There is no more fiercely dedicated friend, lover, or enemy than Fire. Fire can be the warm-hearted fireplace to give warmth to the weary, the torch to give light and direction in darkness, the Sun that brings life and light to the world, the Promethean Fire that inspires invention and science, the forge that drives industry onward, or the raging fire that annihilates every enemy in its path. It has such tremendous mental and emotional energy that other elements often feel overwhelmed. However, just like physical fire without fuel turns to ash, so Fiery people sink into deep, restless depression when they lose their drive and have no dream and no goal to pursue. Also, Fire’s single-minded zeal can at times turn into arrogance and a tendency to belittle and devalue anything or anyone that stands in the way of Fire’s Goal. Immature Fire can also have issues with anger, harshness, being judgmental, bossiness, hasty decisions, and being excessively competitive. Earth Summary: Earth is the element of stability, law, and order. It is the most closely tied to the physical reality. It is also the most enduring. Earth people are known for their steady, patient strength – enduring all hardship, weathering all change. They are strong and stable, honest and loyal, fair-minded and rational, orderly and reliable. Under stress and pressure that would break anyone else, Earth still stands. It can be the tall, strong, majestic mountain; the nurturing soil that makes things grow; the stone wall that withstands the enemy’s fire; the castle that protects those within; the cave that shelters from the storm; the precise, organized, and beautiful gemstone; the deep canyon; the brick and stone that make up mighty towers and humble homes alike; or the caverns of the deep that guard the earth’s riches. Earth is a practical element and enjoys building things and helping things grow. Earth is common sense, memory, organization, details, patience, maturity, and perceptiveness. It is also known as the most family-oriented of the elements and frequently takes on a parental or big sibling role when dealing with younger people. Connected with that is a deep respect for the elderly, for tradition, and for anything that has withstood the test of time. Earning respect is key to earth. Because of its stability and desire for permanence, a close relationship with an Earthen person is likely to last a lifetime. Earth’s greatest strength and weakness lies in its inertia: it changes very slowly and resists all outside influences. This gives it its great strength, stability, and calm, but it also makes it rigid, inflexible, and extremely stubborn. For good or ill, Earth is what it is and that is unlikely to change.

YOU ARE LAVA (FIRE/EARTH) !
The Volcanic element combines the will-power, courage, and brilliant vision of Fire with the diligence, stability, and common sense of earth. That is an excellent recipe for success. Lava combines the abstract, big-picture vision of Fire and the detailed precision of Earth to get things done. Lava enjoys setting bold, daring, nearly impossible goals, then slowly but surely making it happen -- all perfectly according to plan. Beneath the fierce, stubborn exterior is a real, geniune, human warmth and a loyal love that will never die. Those lucky enough to be in Lava’s inner circle are blessed indeed. They are fiercely protective of those they love and would do absolutely anything for them. Respect, honor, integrity, and courage matter a great deal to Lava. Such respect is earned, never given. Since this Mixed Element combines the two dry elements (Fre and Earth), Lava will tend to be very dry. Here, “dryness” refers to being resistant to change or outside forces -- i.e. being decisive, consistent, logical, and stubborn.
ESTJ can be thought of as Earth heated up -- just as practical, diligent, stubborn, and stable, but with much more ambition, drive, and extroversion. In the alternative, ESTJ can be thought of as a much more concrete, practical, and methodical version of Fire.

Adolescent Depression: causes, symptoms, treatment, and Parental Communication
Adolescence is a time of transition, and it is "natural" for adolescents to be moody, irritable, lonely. As a result, depression in teenagers is often misdiagnosed or merely due to normal teenage behavior. The stresses of everyday life are also having a negative impact on our young teens. Take a look at the numbers below and be astounded. Figures dont lie, and they are also the perfect way to highlight those details that, when introduced to the general public's attention, leave a permanent impression. It is important to capture the interest of someone who wishes to hear more about what the numbers are showing. There is no wonder that numbers are nothing more than concrete concepts with the potential to sway even the most cynical of minds, and it would even offer the young generation the real picture when it comes to teenage depression. Twenty Percent Of Teenagers Are Sufferers The first thing that will make you wake up and take notes of adolescent depression rates is the fact that almost one-fifth of the adolescent population of the United States has undergone a degree of psychiatric depression before reaching full adulthood. Not just that, but ten to fifteen percent of adolescents have signs of adolescent depression, while another five percent of the adolescent population has suffered from major depression. Second, another concerning feature of adolescent depression is the lack of social acceptance for adolescents with such an illness, and what's worst is that as many as 8% of teenagers would have witnessed the recurrence of depression at least once a year. This is concerning because depression affects just 5% of the national population. adolescent depression usually lasts for eight months. Teenagers are now at risk of having another bout of adolescent depression within two years, with the chances of this happening ranging from twenty to forty percent, and there is also a seventy percent chance that they will have another bout of adolescent depression. Third, a common characteristic of adolescence depression is that many teens experience seasonal depression. This form of depression is most common during the winter, but it can also be seen in areas of high altitudes. And the weather may play a role in the onset of seasonal depression, so teens must be mindful of these social influences on their mental health. Fourth, other data on adolescent depression show that dysthymia, or a moderate type of depression that persists for a long time, affects around 2% of adolescents, and a similar number of teenagers are more likely to develop bipolar depression as they get older. Indeed, it is estimated that up to 15% of teens who have had major depression are at risk of experiencing bipolar depression later in life. As a result, it is fair to conclude that adolescent depression can impact adolescents regardless of their socioeconomic status, economic class, ethnicity, ethnicity, or accomplishments, and that adolescent depression is a very serious mental health condition affecting teens in the United States. There are some prominent early signs of adolescent depression. If you think your underage child is troubled, you must get treatment urgently.
Adolescent Depression Different Than Adult Depression?
Depression is a mood disease in which people feel depressed, withdrawn, lose confidence in what is going on around them, have learning difficulties, and can even commit suicide. Depressive symptoms are normal, and most people will experience them at some stage in their life even though they are not diagnosed with depression. Men have a lifetime prevalence of depression ranging from 5% to 12%, whereas women have a prevalence ranging from 10% to 25%. Severe depression ranked fourth in terms of disease dysfunction and related risk factors in 1990. Depression is expected to rate second only to heart disease as a concern by the year 2020. Depression has also been attributed to an elevated risk of cancer, respiratory failure, immune dysfunction, allergies, migraine, insomnia, infectious disease, and suicide. The body responds similarly to depression and stress. Corticosteroids are hormones that are produced when a person is stressed or depressed. Cortisol levels in the adrenal glands rise and remain elevated during depression, affecting long-term memory. Individuals suffering from depression include increased development in the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and adrenal glands. Long-term stress has been linked to a decline in hypothalamus volume. The hypothalamus is in charge of processing input from the autonomic nervous system and controlling feeding, sexual activity, sleep habits, impulses, and hormone secretion. People who have had repeated bouts of depression have irregular electroencephalograph sleep cycles. Enlarged ventricles and greater cerebral atrophy have been observed in depressive patients with psychotic characteristics. Adolescent depression can show itself in a variety of ways. Adolescents and infants, according to the DSM-IV-TR, exhibit more irritability, social withdrawal, and somatic complaints. Displays of melancholy and psychomotor retardation, as seen in people with depressive disorders, are not common in teenagers. Adolescent depression, on the other hand, may be characterized by frustration, confusion, exhaustion, and lack of interest in usually pleasurable activities. Another characteristic of teen depression is that it affects both boys and girls equally. Because of the presenting signs, adolescent depression is impossible to diagnose. Other conditions, such as Conduct Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and Anxiety, are often associated with the disorder. There are two forms of depression. Shyness, fear, worrying behavior, and avoidance are all correlated with internalizing style. Externalizing personality is linked to substance addiction and behavior disorder. A variety of studies have associated depression and other psychosocial factors to adult pain perception. It stands to reason that depression, or symptoms of depression, will be found in teenagers who are in distress. Adolescents' sense of well-being has been attributed to low back and mid-back pain. Adolescents and children who have back pain complain that their health is bad and that they are unhappy. Physical fitness is a major indicator of depression in youth, both now and in the future. In addition, physical disorder is linked to depression.
Warning signs and symptoms Of Adolescent Depression
Poor or fluctuating grades in school, disappointment in school or at work, and a sense of inability to achieve expectations are all red flags. Withdrawal from friends, family, and hobbies is another possibility. They will become more isolated as time goes by. They can show signs of depression, hopelessness, and a lack of motivation/enthusiasm. Their self-esteem may range from poor to non-existent. They may be unable to focus, make decisions, or miss things sometimes. Changes of sleep and appetite are possible. They can become irritable, irritated, and anxious as a result. They can become addicted to substances (self-medicate), depressed, or obsessed with death. When the adolescent exhibits some of these symptoms, continue to speak to them, even if it's just to let them know you're there for them, and get treatment right away. There are some indicators that a person is suffering from adolescent depression. Changes in appetite, changes in sleep schedule, lack of interest in usually common sports, irritability and often irrational response to anger, and, last but not least, declarations of depression are among the signs. Changes in appetite or eating habits are a typical and very strong indicator of teenage depression. In reality, it is one of the primary symptoms. More specifically, the signs can include eating too much, eating too little, or not eating at all for an extended period of time. These symptoms of teenage depression should not be confused with those with an eating disorder. However, these main signs may also turn into more neurotic habits, particularly as the patient begins to feel better following a diet shift. Changes in sleep and sleep schedule, including changes of appetite or feeding pattern, are symptoms of teenage depression, but the behaviour varies from person to person. Nonetheless, a significant shift in sleep habits with no apparent cause should be regarded as a fairly solid and not-to-be-ignored warning sign. Another well-known symptom of teenage depression is a rapid and unexplained decline in involvement in previously favored hobbies. It's not the same as when a child outgrows a passion of a certain game. If your child enjoys a sport and suddenly decides not to participate during the season, you should be concerned. It may be a symptom of teenage depression. Another red flag, which is difficult to ignore, is when the child becomes enraged frequently or overreacts to his or her own annoyance. This may be more than just a case of more or less anticipated adolescent rebelliousness. However, distinguishing between typical juvenile misbehavior and depression-driven misbehavior requires the expertise of a trained and experienced healthcare professional. There is no such thing as a single symptom of depression. It's still a slew of symptoms. When your child expresses despair, it may only be a terrible hair day, so if you've recently encountered any of the above symptoms of stress, it's time to take action. Call your doctor and brace yourself and your family for a bumpy trip.
Adolescent Depression - Causes and Best Treatment Options Available
Adolescent depression is a form of depression that may develop during adolescence. This form of depression is characterized by a lack of confidence, feelings of worthlessness, persistent disappointment, and discouragement, among other negative emotions. You can't tell whether an adolescent will get sad or not; often it can be predicted, but in most situations, it can be kept silent before anything happens. It is important to treat teen depression until it worsens, which could happen at any moment. You must address the issue as soon as you know you are stressed or your adolescent is depressed. It might not be an easy problem to solve, but you have to start somewhere. Adolescent depression may be a teenager's acute reaction to such conditions or even normal stress, but it may also be a condition that they may recover from for years if they are not supported. When it comes to adolescents, depression is often caused by: - Arguments of independence from parents - a lack of liberty (in their minds). - The normal maturing mechanism, as well as the tension and worry that it entails. - Sexual hormones may play a significant role in depression. Adolescent depression can also be a transient response to upsetting circumstances that may escalate to a lasting situation, such as: - Failing school - Being the victim of bullying - Death of a relative or a close friend - A sad breakup with a partner Teenagers with poor self-esteem, those who are very critical of themselves, and those who believe they have little or no influence over such stressful experiences are at risk of depression. It is also well recognized that teenage girls are more likely than teenage boys to feel depression while they are going through a tough time. Any of the risk factors are as follows: - Unstable care giving - Weak social skills - Chronic illnesses - Sexual, mental and physical child abuse - Genetic depression - family history of the disorder - Parental loss due to divorce or death, as well as other traumatic life activities Any eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia, have been linked to adolescent depression.. Treatments It is important to rule out any physical illnesses first, such as hypothyroidism or anemia. Depression should be considered after all physical causes have been ruled out. The below are some treatments for teenage depression: When pursuing care for teenage depression, psychotherapy may be the first choice. Talk counseling attempts to help the troubled adolescent to improve their way of thinking. They will be taught more reasonable ways to solve their problems, as well as how to develop their interpersonal and social skills. Medication - Antidepressants are often used for children, but with great caution. This is due to a lack of knowledge on the long-term impact of antidepressants on teenagers. Antidepressant side effects can cause children under the age of 21 to have suicidal thoughts or even attempt suicide, necessitating hospitalization. Alternative treatments such as acupuncture, acupressure, and specifically tailored fitness plans can be beneficial to teenagers suffering from depression. Before adopting any new treatments, consult with your child's doctor. Herbal supplements are completely safe and have far less, if any, side effects than antidepressants. Check with your child's doctor whether he or she is on any medications for any health issues. The herbs are not dangerous; however, they can diminish the potency of certain prescription drugs, putting your child at risk.
Coping With Adolescent Depression
Adolescent depression is highly common and can develop in children who will never feel it again. Then, what happens? It is popular for a variety of purposes. For instance, teenage hormone levels undergo drastic modifications and differences. Hormone fluctuations can disrupt a person's mental health. Technically, the condition is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. When chemicals or hormones get out of balance, a person becomes depressed. Adolescents are most likely to undergo the emotions when their hormones shift often.. Children are still suffering a great deal of tension. To an adult who may not have children, this will seem to be a humorous joke. They do, after all, have their whole life ahead of them. They have little commitments and are at a point in their lives where they will have a good time. Regrettably, this is not completely right. Teenagers are continually subjected to social pressure. They are pushed to be slim, to dress well, and to use drugs and alcohol. Any of these stresses, particularly drug and alcohol pressures, are difficult for a teenager to cope with. Drugs and alcohol are depressants, and if a teenager continues to use them, he or she can develop depression. Loss is another cause. When a loved one dies, it is common for a person to feel depression. This trigger isn't just for teens. What Should You Do? Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do to influence a teenager's hormones or reaction to social pressure. What you should do is speak to your kid about social pressure before they reach the age of adolescence. Describe what it is and how to deal with it. Keep a good watch on your infant as well. They may be depressed if they have severe mood swings or begin to behave abnormally. It may also be a warning if they become socially isolated and refuse to hang out with their mates. Maintain a constant line of contact with your kids. This will assist you with understanding how they are feeling. If you or your kid suspects they are sad, take them to a mental health provider right away. You should begin by speaking with a school counselor. A school psychologist may be able to assist them in coping with their hormones and social pressure. However, if the emotions are more intense, you can see a therapist. Trained therapists are well equipped to treat teenage depression..
Adolescent Depression and Parent Communication
Photo by Ivan Samkov on Pexels.com It is self-evident that puberty is a time of accelerated growth. The child's social responsibility extends into the home, and peer relationships tend to take precedence. Simultaneously, molecular changes are taking place, resulting in bursts of physical and academic development. It's no surprise that so many teenagers report feeling anxious and pressured. Despite the above causes, most teenagers adapt to maturity without incident and grow up to be well-adjusted adults. In particular, study over the last ten years suggests that roughly 80% of all teenagers achieve maturity without major difficulties. Many of the remaining 20% face transition challenges as a result of a variety of reasons such as family conflicts, peer interactions, and educational pressures. For others, the end result is sadness, and normal development is halted. Depression in puberty resembles adult depression. The adolescent is filled with depression, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in a brighter future. Eating and sleeping habits may change; friendships and family relationships may suffer; and school grades may begin to fall. In certain circumstances, the stress subsides and life resumes normalcy. However, if depression persists, the adolescent's life trajectory will be permanently changed, leading to school failure, drug misuse, and an unstable adult lifestyle. Fortunately, parents may take a variety of measures to assist their teen in overcoming stress and returning to normal functioning. To begin, it is critical to understand the improvements in the teen's biochemistry predispose them to emotional control issues. As a result, juvenile populations experience emotional extremes more often than infant or adult populations. Some days can feel like a roller coaster of emotional highs and lows. As a result, adults can become irritated and impatient when a teenager expresses his or her feelings. Second, it is critical to recognize that these emotional responses are very genuine, and that often just listening can be extremely beneficial to the teen. For example, when teenagers are so dependent on their peers, the absence of a best friend or first girlfriend is always viewed as tragic. And parents who are sympathetic to their teen's sadness may grow impatient as the teen's storms of crying, sleepless nights, and sullen demeanor disrupt the family environment. However, if parents are not present, teens can find another person to speak to. Someone else is usually another teenager who lacks the loyalty, empathy, and intelligence needed to be genuinely helpful. Furthermore, as hidden confidantes become Facebook comments, trust problems often emerge. Parents wield considerable strength. Read the full article

Virgo Affirmation
I was born under the sign of Virgo. I accept all its power, potentials, and gifts. I am the Magician of the Universe I accept the healing and magical powers I have or will use for the benefit of myself so I may serve others spiritually and materially, in whatever capacity I choose as appropriate and fascinating. The key for tapping into my deeper resources is the ever-increasing acceptance of myself, of who I am now, and what I wish to become. I can see, hear and feel myself day by day, month by month, moving toward the perfection of my talents, the integration of my aspects by trusting them and the refinement of what I have already accomplished by more eloquent use of my unique gifts. I accept fully my ability and willingness to help, whether with friends, family, or groups, whether with community service or global goals. I accept deeply my keen analysis and enquiring mind. I accept fully my high energy and amazing memory. I accept fully my ability to see details, to transform separate parts into meaningful wholes. I accept my ability to choose, to distinguish, to discriminate, to easily let go of the "ten thousand" worries of life, to avoid unwise sympathy, to focus on the essentials of life and be wisely passionate. I am dependable I am precise. I am meticulous yet practical. I am industrious and self disciplined. With great ease I refine, soften, and direct my inexhaustible energies, expression my discrimination and wisdom with courage, self reliance, and strength, my power with delicacy and appropriateness my invincibility with protectiveness. I accept my extraordinary ability for self sacrifice and my high intuitive gifts that are rooted deeply to my instinctive human sympathy. The birthright of Virgo is to pierce the Grand Illusion of Life. I accept fully and graciously my amazing powers to renew and cleanse myself and others through all of life’s challenges and changes. I accept all viewpoints while allowing my conscious and subconscious mind to sift and sort out what is natural and honest, the false from the true, the essential from the unnecessary, to pierce through characters and situations at a glance. I understand and accept that I must love myself and trust myself and my perception. I understand the concept of ~those who would be the greatest among you - let them be the servant of all~ because I celebrate spirit through service. It is my destiny. Now I choose to shape my future in a balanced dance between comfort and challenge. (Changing your Destiny - Orser & Zarro)

Place in “How to Date a Brown Girl” and “Way to Rainy Mountain”
The notion of Place is one that is nearly inseparable from the stories that we tell. A character’s relation to their environment plays a meaningful part in the ways we conceptualize the characters as well as how the characters make sense of themselves and their identities. Junot Diaz and N. Scott Momaday both capture a sense of Place in their respective pieces of literature, both literally and metaphorically. The theme of longing for place, in particular, presents itself in both pieces, although it appears differently in each.
In “How to Date a Brown Girl,” Junior’s sense of Place is precarious. On the one hand, he is ashamed of his home and his neighborhood because he does not want to be judged as poor. He hides the government cheese and the toilet paper bin, worried that the girl he has over will see them and be put off. Junior has the curse of an intelligent and anxious person-- the tendency to overthink everything. He sees himself through the eyes of others, people who are judging based on their ownsense of place. In this way, Junior’s perception of place is different depending on which girl’s eyes he is looking through. Diaz writes, “You have choices. If the girl’s from around the way, take her to El Cibao for dinner. Order everything in your busted-up Spanish. Amaze her if she’s black, let her correct you if she’s Latina. If she’s not from around the way, Wendy’s will do” (Diaz).
One can speculate here that Junior’s comfort level within a place is malleable and somewhat dependent on factors such as whether he is with an “outsider” or not. However, even in the presence of those on the “inside” of The Terrace, Junior doesn’t quite feel like he belongs. He writes about meeting up with a girl from the neighborhood, “Sometimes she’ll run into her friends and a whole crowd will show up, and even though that means you ain’t getting shit it will be fun anyway and you’ll wish these people would come over more often.” Junior sees himself on the outside of the group of kids from the neighborhood, although he doesn’t explicitly state why. It is clear, however, that Junior feels different from his peers in general.
The notion of Place in Momaday’s “Way to Rainy Mountain” is perhaps a more concrete one. Whereas Junior’s experience of place is in some ways a more metaphorical one of “belonging,” Momaday presents us with a sense of place that is conceivably more rooted in Earth. Rainy Mountain is the physical place in which his ancestors once lived and thrived, but has now become disparate. Where Junior longs for a place of belonging which he has not yet experienced, Momaday longs for return to a place that once was but is now no longer. Momaday is proud of his heritage and reverent of his ancestors. Being in this place allows him to feel connected to his past. The Kiowa tribe are also very deeply connected with the Earth and their natural surroundings, so the literal physical space is integral to his story.
Another important aspect of “Way to Rainy Mountain” to understand is the ways in which place can be impermanent and evolving. While Rainy Mountain holds the memory of the people who once lived there, it has since become abandoned. Even before
this, his Kiowa ancestors lived somewhere else prior to migrating to Oklahoma to begin with. Place is therefore both the physical environment as well as the Humanness that we bring to it.
For both Junior and Momaday, the places they occupy physically and mentally are greatly influenced by their experiences as minorities. Junior experiences poverty due to his family’s status as immigrants as well as people of color. As a result he lives in a low-income neighborhood, which paints a certain picture in the eyes of others. Where Junior finds himself confined to this place, Momaday’s experience is one of being removed from a place. As Native Americans, the Kiowa people have been subjugated by colonizers, stripping them of their freedom of place time and time again until the forced signage of the treaty that relocated the Kiowa to reservations. These confines within which Momaday and Junior exist are based on a long history of oppression. Junior longs to escape this place, whereas Momaday wants to return to a place.
Notions of belonging, migration, loss and community are all integrated into the concept of place. Examining these characters’ conceptions of place allows us to delve deeper into the greater forces at play in their lives. By understanding what a character longs for, one can create a clearer picture of that character's fears and passions. We do not live in mere coexistence with our surroundings, but in harmony with them. These works by Junot Diaz and N. Scott Momaday both portray how our physical placement in the world impacts the places that we occupy in our minds and in society at large.

Thank you Ayelet, my one true bro!~ Fun fact: I actually wrote out answers earlier in the day but accidentally closed the window on the last question, so let’s see if i can remember what I said :’) Very long post, so read under the line!
3. Shaping our destiny... It truly is an endeavor we all must go through. I believe that it is up to the individual first of all in if they believe in fate in the first place, there are some that can’t have that spiritual capacity and probably will be indifferent when it comes to the concept of fate. Nevertheless, I do believe there is an endgame for us all that is ever changing with our own choice. Meaning that it is up to us to follow one path or another and continue down the road of life until we meet with what final plan a higher power may have in store of us, predetermined or no. So, to me, our fate is ultimately decided by us, we can believe we belong on one road and we stick to our plan to meet that fate, but the world is unpredictable, in these cases is when we make choices that will alter our fate and shape that destiny. Like the famous meme quotes, “Life has many doors, Edd boys!”
4. Nature vs nurture has to be one of the oldest debates out there. The obvious answer for me is that there should be a balance between the two, because having too much or too little of either can drastically change our way of life and perspective, especially at a young age. Having a healthy balance should at the very least show us how to live life more comfortably and properly. Some may end up spiteful and unloving towards the world with a lack of nurture, only relying on the basic survival of the fittest nature lifestyle; or it could go the other way around where too much nurture will pamper a person to the point where they can’t handle the nature of the real world around them. Having that balance is key to finding one’s way of life in pursuit of happiness, in my eyes.
8. Speaking of happiness... It’s something we all strive for in the end. Happiness is different for everyone, it comes in the form of friendly, platonic loves to more romantic kinds, and on personal levels we can regard things like familial love as well as the things we love that make us passionate, whether it be material, knowledge, etc. One’s true happiness lies with their own desires, but something that most should be striving for is success, kindness and the power within us all. What I mean is, I find the aspect of personal growth and improvements to be an source of happiness for at least myself, seeing how I can improve myself, being active and spreading happiness to those I can, and wishing that down the road, I can spread my own experience with the next generation and make the world a better place. It’s nice to have dreams and aspirations, but being able to live your life to it’s fullest is important, I think that each step towards waking up confidently and positively is the first step to finding I see as a universal happiness, something we can all agree that sounds pleasing.
20. The topic of one’s consciousnesses is tricky... It’s hard to wrap my head around it because we are all different and so should our experiences. An example is how one person can be passionate about a certain aspect that makes them happy, while others can be completely indifferent to it. Our consciousnesses will never be quite the same as another, but the only way to test such things is to compare with said others. I think that there is something primal in us all that acts as the building blocks of our understanding of the world and it’s mysteries, how we’ve come as a species to constantly evolve and experience things that have been experienced throughout the history of our world. With that in mind, another theory I believe in is the “collective consciousness”, wherein society’s ideals can be understood and experienced by all. Which comes in many forms as well with different societies all around the world. This really is harder for me to answer more straightforwardly but I hope it counts as answer ;P
26. Our perceptions is another thing affected by societal norms and how one has grown into it and the world. When I looked at this question, the first thing that came to mind was the concept of cryptids, folk lores, myths.... All that good stuff we love, Ayelet~ I bring it up because it’s things like this that keep our minds fresh about the world, as it has so much mysteries that our mind can’t help to imagine and try to work out whether these things can be seen as possibly real things or just tall tales to help us shape that perspective. However, going back to that primal state that could be in us all, I think most people at least understand the famous quote I think, therefore I am”, as the most basic step to understanding the reality around us. Those stories can merely just be stories, but why do people make stories in the first place? To give a new perspective, something that can always change with us all. We can understand the physical perspectives of life, but our mind can play tricks on us, and it’s at that moment I believe there is another realm of that cannot be reached so easily, something more spiritual and magical that can be seen as transcending and what have you. Basically, what I’m trying to say when it comes to understanding whether perspective is real or not is...
I WANT TO BELIEVE. *x-files theme plays in the distance*
33/34. I am grouping these together because they seem to be intertwined. To me, we all do have a soul. I tend to group souls and demeanors in the same boat because I believe that every one of us has a sort of aura to them, which I see as the quality of their soul at the time and to judge how my instincts tell me how I should feel about a new person. One can say their soul is where their heart is, and I half believe that! It’s not where your heart is graphically in your body but more a culmination of spiritual energy that lies depth within us, the very thing that is mentioned in “I think, there for I am.” The soul is something without form and yet, it is another aspect of us that is shaped by our own experiences, perhaps our soul is representational of our mind. There is something I like to believe is real called a “sickness of the soul”, which is how I feel traumatic experiences lie within our psyche. I find that these experiences stick with those affected because it hurt them, it left scars on their soul that may or may never be healed. I view the the soul as how a person can “feel” out someone else, why we can act on instinct and where our primal instincts began from in itself, and why we can have aspects such as faith and vibes.
41. DNA is government conspiracy in itself, they really are reptile people and we are their play things. KIDDING. Maybe half kidding. There are many things considered building blocks and DNA is a prime example of the building blocks of life. The way it is structured, however, fascinates me because they can literally be seen as blueprints, given how the slightest change can be beneficial or detrimental to us as living beings. That’s why I joke about the government, because it does scare me a little since we don’t know the extent of their control over something like DNA, especially since like stem cell research and cloning have been experiences in the past. It also suggests that perhaps, maybe whatever higher power we believe in built us this way as the aforementioned blueprints of life. Hell, the rabbit hole literally gets deeper if you decide to take blueprints literally and believe we are in some sort of Matrix situation. I can’t say why DNA is the way it is, but maybe it’s another conspiracy waiting to be discovered.
45. The concept of dreams in itself is one of the most interesting things in the world to me. I always see it as signs towards something that will or already does relate to your life one way another. It could visualize memories of the past or even past lives, it can display some urges that we must tend to or wants and needs that need to be met, who knows? A lot of dreams may not even mean anything, while others can be scary as all hell, but in cases like this, I feel like the environment around us definitely affects things we dream about, to the point where lucid dreaming is possibly a real thing we can do. Many have tried to understand the meanings of signs or events in dreams, but I believe they represent something going on or that will happen in our lives, whether it be a red herring or a prediction, drams in itself are another realm on its own, something can be a little more easily changed by the world around us, from media, to inspirations or even straight up drugs. They are fascinating for sure, so there no way they don’t mean anything, even if it’s not easy to understand at first.

Part Two: Types of Parents
While we connect with tons of people in our lives, perhaps the first of those relationships begins with our parents, and while they may not continue to be the strongest of our relationships later in life, this central node is where I’ve chosen to start our look into relationships. Of course, what we’re talking about here is writing those parental connections, and the concept of parents actually covers a broader group of people than we might think. So let’s get into it!
Parent: an ancestor, precursor, or progenitor; a source, origin, or cause; a protector or guardian; an organism that produces or generates another. (x)
The definition gives us a really great look at the range of ways someone could relate to another as a parent. Of course, a few of these definitions don’t quite apply cleanly to humans, however it does at least tell us that one does not have to be blood-related to a person to be considered a parent. After all, “protector” or “guardian” do not imply blood-relation. What they do imply is a connection and care about the other person. Let’s take a look at some types of parents and common aspects to their relationships.
Biological Biological parents are the staple of the “parents” concept, as the individuals directly responsible for the birth of the person in question. They are often the first thing to pop into folks’ heads when the word parents is mentioned. These are folks who approach their kids as part of a shared history. They are direct continuations of the family, and the parents are often keepers of that family history knowledge. Whether they actually know that history or not depends on the story you’re telling, but the child expects that the parents have it, and that goes for any type of knowledge, world or family. This shared family history can become a driving force for the biological parents when it comes to their motives for their children. Tension between “what is good for the family” and “what is good for the individual” has the tendency to become a focal point for relationships. The dichotomy is often split by considering parents who are most concerned with the good of the family as bad parents and those who focus on the good of the individual as good parents. Whether this is right or wrong has much to do with portrayal.
Adoptive Adoptive parents have gone through legal processes to become the guardians or parents of an individual. Perhaps they’re already known to the child when they are adopted, or perhaps the child grows up with only memories of their adoptive parents. Adoption situations are always different, and how to go about adopting a child differs from place to place GREATLY, so blanket statements certainly can’t be made, however there are a few things that are common in adoptive parent situations.
An adopted child has more than two parents and if they are aware of this (and they usually are), the thought of those other parents is often forefront in their mind. No matter whether the child is upset by the thought or excited, they will think about it, and part of those thoughts will likely include the idea that they were placed there, not grown there. The talents and abilities of a child, as well as likes and dislikes, are not guaranteed to coincide with those of the adopted family. That their passions may be completely different could spawn a rift in the idea of shared heritage that often bonds a biological family.
The hope of adoptive parents is often the same as those of a healthy biological family: safety and care for the child. How that comes across to the child may vary, just as with biological parents, with the added “You’re not my parent!” trope thrown in.
Clevergirlhelps’ adoption tag ANC Writing Resources’ adoption process & foster care process resources
Assumed/Considered Alongside the idea that not all families are set up in the cultural ideal of the nuclear family (which we’ll talk about more in the next post) comes the concept of assumed or considered parents. These are individuals who may not be legal guardians to the individual at all, but the relationship between the character and these individuals feels like, and is just as good as, a parental-type relationship. I make the distinction between “assumed” and “considered,” one being where the adult decides to take the child under their wing and the other where the child comes to view the adult as a parental figure. These types of relationships often pop up through family friends who frequently attend family gatherings, or friends’ parents, or frequent acquaintances that are met in more common areas like at the park or at a comic book shop. These individuals are well-meaning--or at least are perceived to be by the child--usually because they’ve gone through something similar, general kindness, or they express a kind of camaraderie with the child. These characters may have an agenda all their own in regards to the child, or they may truly be the well-meaning, best-interests-at-heart, affectionate folks they seem. They often come to the table with very different experiences than the child’s legal parents, which acts as an additional draw to the child as they find answers that have a refreshingly different perspective than the one they always get from their legal parents.
Of course, how your characters are related is only part of the battle. Portrayal, the perceptions and understanding your audience gains through those portrayals, and the numerous other possibilities for these kinds of parental relationships contribute to the story you want to tell. We’ll talk a bit about that coming up.
Next up: Parents, part 2!

What is a logo and why you need one
What is a logo? Logo designs are everywhere, but if you are not familiar with the term, you might be asking “what is a logo and why do you need one?” Well, logos are all around you. Everywhere you look, both online and off, you will find logos.
A logo is a visual representation of a brand and it has the power to influence your choices. The easiest way to define logos is as a visual message a company uses to share its values. A logo therefore has meaning.
Why Use A Logo?
Producing logos means creating a symbol for a brand. This symbol can be used digitally on a company website. It is also used on letterheads and business cards. A logo is also known as a logotype. Logos make a company easy to recognize as the logo becomes increasingly familiar to the public. Identification logos are usually bespoke, and carefully designed for a company. They are specifically designed by a marketing or graphic design logo company to represent a brand.
Great logos visually represent more than just a product or service. Instead they show a visual representation of the client’s aspirations or goals. A definition of logo is therefore a sign or emblem which identifies a company and expresses an associated meaning. Think of the bird logo associated with the social media platform Twitter.
Logos do not only belong to businesses. Families often use crests or emblems as a means of identity. Logos are not necessarily visual art images. Some companies use letters or initials to share their work goals.
At one time it was only large companies or organizations that could afford logo designs. Often family crests were considered a sign of wealth. They were very detailed and expensive. As human beings were drawn to signs, symbols and metaphor.
Visual representation has been used to represent countries in the form of flags. Road signs tell us where to go and how to get there. Signs have therefore always directed our attention. Like ancient signs, logos use color and contrast to attract attention. Fortunately, logo designs have become less expensive and available to even small businesses.
In a digital world where so much information is conveyed very quickly, a logo assists with putting across information at a glance. Our brain can pick up a visual image in the blink of an eye. Logos are therefore not easily overlooked and become a memorable part of a brand.
When coming up with a logo, designers work on a concept which will make an impression on customers. The logo needs to both unique and stylish in order to make an effective impact. A logo needs to be both catching and memorable. It will also need to convey the message behind a brand.
When creating a logo, it helps to look at the costs of reproduction. The more details a logo has and the more colors it uses, the more expensive it will be to reproduce. Simple logos are also more effective when reduced to small sizes.
This is important in the digital era where people often use small screens and wearables to view a website. Your logo therefore needs to look as good on a watch screen or pen as it does on a billboard.
Well-designed logos also take into consideration logo styles. Some logos use words or letters and initials. Others use pictures, abstract images or emblems. The age of a company, the company’s name and budget all impact on the design choices.
Logo design styles are sometimes used in combination if a company has the budget. Think of the CK or HP logos, Coca Cola and Pepsi, Twitter, Adidas and Starbucks.
What’s the purpose of a logo?
The purpose of logos is to identify a brand. This way customers will know whether a pair of jeans is made by Levi’s or Guess and will choose accordingly. When customers recognize your brand, they can choose to purchase your products. Identification is therefore the most important aspect of logo design.
Logo designs may be trendy or not, they may change with the times. As long as they identify the product, service, people or company behind the brand, they are effective.
This means that before a designer works on possible logos, s/he needs to explore the contexts a logo will be used in and how it will be received. A designer needs to explore the competition, the message behind the brand and how symbols, colors or shapes have been used in the past. Who owns a specific design. How can an effective logo be designed to stand out from the crowd?
Logo design is a well thought through strategy or technique rather than an art form. Although logos do have an artistic element, a logo’s purpose is commercial. Logos are not about personal taste but about an overall strategy. The goal is for the viewer to identify logo designs and link them to a service or product.
Although aesthetics adds to logo design, this is not the most crucial element of the design. Logos need to stand out in order to extend the brand. The apple logo, for example, associated with creativity, stands out as an easily identifiable means of purchasing that specific brand of computer, tablet, mobile phone or watch. Identification is therefore the most critical element of logo design.
While fine art often holds hidden meanings and deeper layers, logos communicate a very simple message. As long as the design is easily recognizable, the message associated with the brand will be passed along to viewers. Ongoing marketing and a deepening of the messages shared through adverts and social media will help to build the brand.
The purpose of a logo is simply to represent or identify the brand. If we look at Apple or Nike, the logos hold meanings which have come with the advertising campaigns and, in Nike’s case, sponsorships.
Why have a logo?
A logo provides a representation of your brand. This will help you to stand out from the competition. By using a logo, you create a visual symbol which helps you to stand out from the competition. When a logo is easily recognizable, a customer is able to distinguish between products.
A customer is able to choose between Nike and Adidas shoes based on the logo designs on both. When coming up with a logo, designers explore the competition and assess how a logo can stand out. Designers will work to create a logo which is both unique and familiar to the industry it represents.
A logo sends a message about a business
Working logos stand out and are easily recognizable. They also provide information about your company. Logos often help a customer to understand the business you are in. King Cake and Home Depot make it plain that their companies offer specific set products. Your logo will also appeal to a specific market or target audience.
Corporate logos have a different purpose or design to logos which appeal to children. Imagery used in a logo will provide information about a company. Building plans in architect logos and a pair of spectacles in an optometrist’s logo give information about the products and services offered.
Color also helps to appeal to a specific market or share a message. Green is often associated with the environmental movement while red is associated with passion, danger or romance.
After a brand has been in existence for a while, has gained a reputation and has been part of a marketing campaign, the logo will become recognizable. A company can then make use of logo designs alone. The logo will remind clients that your company still exists. They, therefore, remain a crucial part of a brands identity.
The importance of logos cannot be understated. A well-designed logo will be easy to remember. Customers will be reminded of the values you offer. Using pictures, shapes and abstract images makes a logo easy to recognize. This is because the brain processes visual images more quickly than words. A visual image will make a brand easy to recognize and identify.
A logo is the visual face of your business
When you imagine a business, the logo often comes to mind first. The memorable Apple stands out in our minds as does the Nike swoosh.
McDonalds Golden Arches are the first thing we think of when thinking of the brand. These images combine with our memories, experiences and perceptions to give meaning and resonance to a brand. This is the importance of logos.
Logo design influences our decisions
We need logos to represent a brand. This is because our minds continually use symbols and images, shapes and colors to interpret the world.
By looking at a logo we shape meaning and connections which shape a wider world. These meanings are related to the fonts, shapes and colors which make up the logo. Single logos therefore cannot to wider meanings.
From these impressions we make decisions about products or services. We consider how a company fits into our wider values. If a company has a conservative logo and we don’t endorse these values we may ignore it. If it represents our values, we will endorse it. A logo identifies a brand but it also fits in with our personal sense of identity.
This is why it is so important that a logo accurately represents a brand. An on the go company needs an on the go logo and a corporate brand needs a corporate logo. This will help a company to attract the right audience. Logos define a company and if it sends out the wrong message, the company will not survive. Creating an effective and helpful design is therefore crucial.
Logos create a first impression
What is a logo if not the opportunity to make a great first impression? With so much to distract us and so much competition, a logo gives a company the opportunity to attract attention. There is only a very short time space to attract attention and a good logo design gives you the opportunity to attract attention.
A professional design enables us to communicate the message you need. Some businesses go down the DIY route without fully understanding what it takes to create an effective logo. The lost potential will cost a business more than a designer’s fees.
Communicate brand values & additional meaning
Logos send out a message about a brand. Although the most important purpose of a logo is to identify a brand, it will also send out a message. This message includes the brand’s values and purpose. Sticking to a simple idea will enable this message to be easily communicated. Coca Cola have communicated the importance of diversity while the Body Shop focuses on compassion.
Amazon focuses on the happiness which comes with receiving something you really enjoy. The message is positive and the vibrant orange color expresses joy. Orange is a vibrant color associated with warmth and happiness. The logo directs the eye towards an A to Z catalogue which includes a wonderful range of products which promise happiness.
We need logos to transcend simple products and create an emotional resonance. An effective logo enables a stronger brand identity. These identities transcend the image as well as the products sold to appeal to the hearts of viewers.
What makes up an effective logo?
Now that we have answered the question “why do we need a logo?” It is time to explore the different elements which combine in order to create a great logo design.
The process of taking a logo apart is very much like taking apart the elements in a cake. The ingredients combine to create something new and unique. Let’s break down some common logo elements. These elements come together to create a wide range of different possibilities.
Typography
While they may look like simple letters, typography is carefully chosen to send out a message. Clean, modern designs send messages of possibilities and development. Text is clean and simple. Traditional letters are associated with heritage, honesty and trust. From monogrammed letters to full words, typography makes a difference.
Imagery
Images are very often used in logo design. Some are easy to identify like the bird in the Twitter logo. Others are more abstract like the Nike swoosh.
Some logos may include a pattern or punctuation marks. Not all images create a clear message. Some images are used simply to identify a brand. It is the combination of image, typography, color and context which shapes a larger message.
Color
Color helps to share the purpose of the logo. Every color has a unique psychology which enables it to create an emotional resonance within the viewer. Some logos use a black and white color combination while others use monochromatic color. Contrasting colors create attention while complimentary colors create peaceful color combinations. When combined, color is used to send a message. From the calm, peaceful blues to the vibrant oranges and warm burgundies, each choice tells a story.
Context
Possible logo designs are often connected to a larger context. Some logos will be used in print related material whilst others are used online. Advertising logos may be used on billboards while others are made for business cards. It important to think of where’ when and how a logo will be used. A logo created for a specific use such as coasters or bookmarks will have very different designs.
Static or dynamic elements
Some logos will be used in a range of different contexts while others are changed according to context. Designs will look at whether it is more effective to create a static logo which would work across many contexts or a dynamic logo which will change according to context.
What makes a good logo?
Now that we know the various ingredients which combine to create a logo, it is time to look at the final results. Any number of factors can combine to create an
The answer: any number of different things. Let’s look at some real-life examples and talk about which elements they employ to successfully communicate their messages.
Some businesses have a name that plays a part in explaining the business and doesn’t need a logo that is overly designed. In the example above, the name “Rhythms” helps let the user know that this is a beat-making app. In this case the designer has filled in the blanks with some colored geometric broken lines.
These elements help to communicate the idea that there are tracks and rhythm involved. Ultimately the design does a pretty good job of clueing in the user to what they are downloading. Some of the most successful logos are not conceptual or complex at all.
How is a logo different from branding?
One common confusion we see comes in understanding the difference between logos and branding. It sounds complicated but the difference is quite simple: Your brand is the set of perceptions people have about your company.
In other words, it can be thought of as the big-picture impression that your company leaves on the customer. This impression can be left by many things, such as your advertisements, commercials, customer service, and yes, your logo as well.

four elements quiz
You are Lava! (Fire/Earth) The Volcanic element combines the will-power, courage, and brilliant vision of Fire with the diligence, stability, and common sense of earth.
Core Strengths: Lava is brave, bold, ambitious, strong-willed, energetic, charismatic, honest, loyal, just, honorable, dedicated, stable, practical, orderly, structured, fair-minded, patient, rational, respectful, and dependable. Possible Weaknesses: When immature, Lava might be arrogant, angry, harsh, bitter, jealous, greedy, stiff, callous, have judgmental tendencies, bossy, excessively competitive, and too focused.
