HELLO ANON IM GLAD YOU ASKED I HAVE AN EXCUSE TO RANT ABOUT SONIC’S CHARACTER BC I LOVE HIM A LOT AND I FEEL LIKE NO ONE REALLY WANTS TO THINK ABOUT HIM ON HIS OWN!!

short answer: absolutely BUT whether it’s in-character depends on the way his feelings are portrayed.

long answer: Have you ever wondered why everyone has their own personal love language? In this essay I will-

let’s take a step back and just overview sonic’s character a little bit:

Essentially, at his core, Sonic is a character who values his freedom and the freedom of others at his very core. His main drive to keep moving is motivated by his love for adventure and that thrill of adventure. Romance is never and will never be his top priority, it’ll always be adventure, so y’all gotta understand that first. But his friends come to a close second.

And that’s where the line between romance and friendship starts to blur a little bit. What do I mean by that?

Well let’s look at his relationship with Amy purely as a platonic relationship: Sonic and Amy are the best of friends.

They hang out quite a bit more than Sonic does with other characters, and Amy is the closest non-sibling relationship that Sonic has. Tails is his little brother; yes they’re close and yes they hang out a lot, but again it’s a very sibling-like bond. That’s not necessarily a bad thing and I’m not dismissing it—I really, REALLY appreciate Tails and Sonic’s relationship. It’s very cute and a very mutual thing in my opinion. A lot of people might say that Sonic only inspires Tails while Tails provides gadgets and brainpower for Sonic, but that’s just not true. FOR ONE SONIC’S CANON IQ LEVEL IS LIKE 178 IF IIRC HE’S SMART GUYS. HE DOES NOT NEED TAILS TO BE HIS BRAIN. HE MADE HIS OWN FRICKING PLANE. But Tails is the person he can always rely on and pretty much talk to about anything. PRETTY much. But there’s also that small underlying role model that Sonic should be for Tails to some extent, because he is Tails’ older brother.

Knuckles is #2 out of Sonic’s closest friends, and his main role is being a rival/challenge to sonic without being a threat to him. They’re still extremely close friends who would die for each other after all. They bicker and Sonic does love to tease knuckles quite a bit since knux is so quick to get angry. But they still respect each other and know that they can rely on each other. Also lowkey they’re kinda the not-so-friendly homie relationship; if tails and sonic are wholesome homies, knux and sonic are the “we beat each other up /aff” homies

and then we have Amy. Sonic’s closest female friend. genuinely argue with the wall if you can’t see that. SONIC DOES NOT HATE AMY HE VALUES HER AS A FRIEND AND CLOSE COMRADE sorry i hate people who say sonic can’t stand amy are you guys THAT media illiterate

So Amy is the closest thing that Sonic has to a friend who is a complete equal to Sonic, and let me explain why I say that AMY is his equal, and not someone like Metal Sonic or Shadow.

First off, Amy is not in any way a rival to Sonic. Sure she’s been paired against him multiple times in Team Sonic vs Team Rose, but it’s all on friendly terms and sillies. Second, she’s the one of the ONLY character who shares the exact same thirst for adventure that Sonic does. Heck i’m pretty sure one of her opening lines in Sonic Adventure was something along the lines of “it’s so boring when Sonic’s not around.” She doesn‘t care much for a normal, mundane lifestyle anymore than Sonic does. yes she’s a little more grounded than Sonic is in general and likes doing stationary things like baking and gardening, but she still gets bored easily. Her idea of fun can consist of picking flowers or decimating badniks (i love her sm)

Lastly there’s no strings attached to her love for Sonic, she just loves him for who he is and who he inspires her to be. Her favorite thing about him is his free spirit, which heaven forbid she ever tie down. The second she expressed that to Sonic, he was IMMEDIATELY became much more comfortable around her, because he understood where she was coming from and what her true intentions were. After that he started hanging out with her way more often and he was also really comfortable with her in general (i’m talking specifically about the idw comics here). He can talk to her about just about any problem because she understands; she’s been with him much longer than most others. Bro she was introduced before Knuckles, technically speaking…and she’s gone through the same experiences and adventures that he has. The only thing that Tails has different from Amy in terms of being able to talk about problems is that in the past I feel like Sonic has wanted to protect Tails from certain things (though this seems to have changed in Frontiers with Tails’ whole thing being more independent and growing up) but he really doesn’t have to do that with Amy because he doesn’t have the same older sibling urges if ykwim.

tldr: amy’s sonic’s bestie that is most like him who’s also on equal footing with him

Okay then, now let’s talk rOmAnCE

Sonic’s history in the romance department has been….messy to say the least. Always baffles me because Amy has been right there the whole time…

And it seems to me that each time Sonic is depicted in a steady, strong relationship, at least some part of his core character is sacrificed for that. I feel like this is especially evident in the Archie Comics, like, you mean to tell me Sonic willingly accepts becoming king and staying tied to a kingdom?? Like that’s not inherently wrong but that’s definitely not game Sonic—that is Archie Sonic AND THATS FINE. its just a different iteration of Sonic, like how movie Sonic is drastically different from game Sonic

Amy matters a LOT to Sonic

Sonic’s not one for words but rather actions

One, yeah, this is something that is special to Amy and Sonic, to the point where even the audience doesn’t know what he said to her because its muted (stellar choice in my opinion because it adds a lot more weight to them) but its pretty obvious that he either said “Aishiteru, Emi” or “Daisuki, Emi”, both of which mean “i love you Amy” on a pretty deep level. But the point is that its between them and between them only. Even later in season 3 when Amy talks about it, she’s deliberately cut off before she can repeat what Sonic said to her that day. Obviously this isn’t supposed to be public knowledge

Two, the context is that Sonic has literally been stuck on another planet for quite some time, and most people either gave up on him ever returning or thought he was dead. But not Amy. And guess what? The first place he goes to—he literally BEELINES there as Super Sonic—is straight to Amy’s house. He wanted to see her first and likely reassure him that he was okay because he knew that she’d be worried sick. Also I think he just missed her in general…

Three, he knows what a white (or lavender idc) rose means and deliberately chose that flower to give to her upon his return. And again with the muted words, his actions speak louder to us as an audience than a simple “i looooove you amyyy” and this is generally a common theme with Sonic, especially in Sonic X (probably the most accurate representation of Sonic outside the games).

btw this can be taken as platonic but man do i want to yap about it:

amy KNOWS sonic can’t swim and even in her barely conscious state she tells him to basically leave her for dead. HIS SAFETY IS STILL HER TOP PRIORITY. but does sonic listen? nahhh. there were literally hundreds of other people perfectly capable of rescuing amy but noooo he went in and dove after her because HIS top priority was HER safety

also the whole thing how he didn’t just restring the bracelet she made him, no, her tied a new string to the original ones and went and got more shells?? that are found next to his biggest fear??? yeah that speaks volumes about how much he treasures that lil gift of hers

he’s not gonna go yell to the world that he loves his girlfriend sososososo much but like in private? hell yeah (though rn its more like they both know that amy loves sonic, duh, but they also both know that sonic likes amy and they’re just chilling with it, not quite dating but two friends that know they like each other)

Name: F.L.U.D.D. (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device)

Debut: Super Mario Sunshine

F.L.U.D.D. was Mario's first ever Platforming Buddy! Unless you count the Lakitu Bros. from 64, but they just operate the camera and don't affect Mario's platforming moveset, so I do not. So really, F.L.U.D.D. is- hold on, I really don't want to write every individual period each time I write its name. I'm just going to leave all the periods at the end of the post and you can put them where they belong yourself, or anywhere else you think is funny. Or you can keep them, I don't mind. Put them on a bagel and tell a friend they're poppy seeds!

FLUDD is a big deal. A landmark for the series in terms of mechanics. Not that these specific mechanics returned, but the concept of a buddy granting Mario some new abilities has become a recurring thing. FLUDD even talks, and is fully voice acted! In a robot voice! Like mine! A cute and silly little robot buddy for Super Mario.

So then... why don't I absolutely LOVE it? I feel like I should! But I'm just not getting that urge to imagine it driving a kart or playing tennis like I do with far less important characters. Does it work so well as a Tool that I have a hard time viewing it as a Character? Let's See!

I think FLUDD's design is honestly kind of perfect. The two massive screws that evoke eyes are really clever, and especially great is that they give it + shaped "pupils"! Aside from that, the nozzle's funnel shape is an extremely funny shape for a mouth, and FLUDD does indeed speak out of there. Excellent head! Though I feel like the excitement fizzles out once you look past the head, because the rest is much more "equipment" than "character". That's fine, this IS a piece of equipment! It just makes it feel less like a character, when I'd like it to have a bit of a balance of both. Maybe if the handles also functioned as little feet that it could walk around on? I don't know. Maybe that would be stupid... but I do love when creature designs are stupid!

FLUDD was made by E. Gadd, but that's all the backstory we get. We never learn why it was just there on the Delfino Airstrip, and that's really weird! The perfect tool to combat the game's main conflict is just there immediately when Mario arrives. It could have been a cool little mystery, but I guess the reality is just that some Pianta ordered it when the Goop Incident happened and got express delivery. Or maybe someone already had it and was just waiting for a calamity like this to happen, to justify the purchase!

I don't need to go over everything FLUDD does, right? I'm not the Super Mario Wiki, it's not my job! I'm here for the Weird. And a weird thing is that FLUDD freaken dies.

During the final boss against Bowser's Hot Tub, FLUDD starts stuttering, as if breaking down. And then in the final cutscene... it Dies! Mario goes to it, it tells him it hopes it was of assistance, and it dies. And Mario is sad, because this was his friend. But then in the very next scene FLUDD is back! Some Toads fixed it and it's fine now. So this ends up having the emotional impact of Mario needing to change the battery on his TV remote.

Even though it's our and Mario's friend, FLUDD is still an object, a product. It's technically not just FLUDD, but A FLUDD, one of many, mass produced. I have to wonder if it actually formed any bond with Mario, or if it was a one-sided friendship. Is it even capable of friendship...?

Whatever the case, the others absolutely consider FLUDD a friend, and well, that's just so sweet. During the credits we get to see some extremely compressed pictures of Mario and friends enjoying their real vacation, and FLUDD is there with them! It's not even on Mario's back anymore, or always WITH Mario, for that matter. Sometimes it's hanging out with Peach and some Toads, sitting there independently. I think it is safe to say FLUDD is a real true friend, and likes to just Hang Out sometimes! Even better, maybe it wasn't originally sentient, but learned how to love over the course of the adventure. Such a wonderful robot thing to do!

As expected, thinking in depth about FLUDD has absolutely endeared me to it. Hooray! It's about time. Well, it's too late for FLUDD to be relevant again, probably. I'm not saying it should be a driver in Mario Kart, but I AM saying there should be a kart based on it, and I'm also saying that this kart should canonically be the FLUDD, now upgraded. This feels like something that should have happened long ago!

This has been a long post, but it is far from all FLUDD has had to discuss! So next time, I will post about FLUDD once more, and its various appearances during the GameCube days and beyond! There is milk involved at some point. Get excited to learn what milk has to do with any of this!

You walked through the streets calmly, enjoying the mild weather while checking your phone; however, Alix's call completely changed your routine.

—Hey! Can you come to the park? It's urgent —Alix spoke from the other line.

—Urgent? What's wrong? —you asked, frowning.

—I'll explain it to you when you get there, but it's serious. Come quickly. —she finished quickly before hanging up.

Although bewildered after the call, you accepted and headed to the park you always used to go to with your friends only to find out that the meeting included several girls you didn’t share certain bonds with: Marinette, who you had no problem with, but you had always found her too intense. Alya was nice, but her energy could also be exhausting. Chloe… It was simply Chloe. With Mylene, Sabrina, Juleka, and Rose, you also had no problems, but they weren’t in your circle, so you didn’t have a close friendship relationship.

—Why didn’t you tell me it would be a group meeting? —you asked discreetly, drawing Alix closer to you.

—Because if I told you, you would have hesitated to come —she answers obviously. —This affects us all. Listen. —Alix quickly gathers everyone together to hear her clearly, her face more serious. You began to feel a slight knot in your stomach. The idea of Nathaniel, your Nathaniel, doing something like that seemed absurd to you. But then, why were the rest so sure?

—We should talk to them before making assumptions —you suggested, looking for a mature approach.

—Talk? —Chloe snorted in disbelief, her arms akimbo. —Talk to a bunch of lying traitors? Of course not.

—We’ll only know if we go. —Marinette, normally calmer, had a hard look on her face this time.

Against your better judgment, you ended up following them. You didn’t entirely agree with that way of doing things, but you found yourself dragged along, perhaps also because your curiosity played a trick on you. Sneaking away was easier than expected. They all moved silently, dodging employees and discovering the floor where the boys were. Upon reaching the indicated room, one of the doors was ajar and what they saw was enough to make their faces harden. The room was in a chaotic state, with loud music, alcoholic drinks everywhere, and clothes strewn about. Each of the boys, their respective boyfriends, were accompanied by other girls, many of them acquaintances. Adrien was with Lila, who was curled up on his lap and kissing him shamelessly. Nino was dancing intimately with a stranger, carefree, bringing his hands to her butt. Ivan, blushing, was receiving compliments from a girl who kept caressing his shoulders and creating more closeness. Kim was trying to lift Kagami's skirt, who wasn't even paying attention, focused on Adrien. And in a corner, Nathaniel had a girl hanging on his arm, looking at him with admiration and distributing kisses all over his face while he didn't seem to do much to push her away. It was Chloe who almost gave them away when she opened her mouth indignantly when she saw Adrien there. Luckily for her, the music was too loud for anything to have been heard.

—I'm going to kill those...! —Chloe hissed angrily before being stopped by the others.

—Adrien is my boyfriend, not yours, Chloe —Marinette muttered, rolling her eyes, though her gaze was filled with fury.

You, on the other hand, felt like your world was shaking. Nathaniel with another. Accepting his kisses, giving him that shy smile he always used to give you. The fact that he allowed something like that without even thinking about you was enough to make your chest ache. The others were just as affected, each processing it in their own way. Mylene had tears in her eyes, Alya clenched her fists, Alix narrowed her eyes staring at everyone, Marinette breathed deeply trying not to lose her composure, and the other girls couldn’t believe their eyes.

—Let’s go —you whispered, your tone low but firm. No one protested. They all retreated silently, processing the betrayal.

When everyone got outside, the silence lasted only a short while before the group erupted in a mix of rage and sadness. While you and Alix remained silent still processing everything, Marinette put her hands on her head talking to herself, Alya walked in circles muttering insults, and Mylene cried while Juleka, Rose, and Sabrina comforted her.

—I can't believe it —Marinette muttered, her eyes somewhere between disappointment and anger.

—Ivan... I thought he loved me —Mylene whispered, her eyes full of tears.

—That idiot Nino is going to find out! —Alya insulted anything that reminded her of him, being really furious.

—Kim is a swine —Alix growled, kicking a rock.

—And what did they expect from all those losers? —Chloe spoke calmly, snorting with her arms crossed, but just as indignant.

It was then that Alya broke the chaos with an unexpected idea.

—If they're fooling us, why not do the same?

The suggestion left everyone silent. The idea of getting revenge on the boys the same way they had been betrayed was tempting.

—What? —you blurted out, a mix of surprise and skepticism.

—Think about it —Alya continued, her expression serious. —If they think they can play us, the same play has to be played back to all of them.

—That’s ridiculous —Marinette hesitated, though her tone wasn’t one of outright rejection.

—Is it? Because, honestly, I don’t see why we should just sit back —Alya replied.

—I like the idea. —Chloe followed her with a sharp smile.

—I’m not talking about just randomly finding other boys —Alya explained —I’m talking about making them suffer.

Everyone’s eyes sparkled with a mix of anger, confusion, and possibly excitement. Even though you didn't consider yourself a vengeful person, remembering the image of Nathaniel with someone else made something inside your principles change.

—I'm listening —you finally said.

—If they did this to us without hesitation, I don't see why not —Alix added, smiling defiantly.

—We need it to be something big —Marinette commented, thinking. —Something that affects them. —They all looked at each other, agreeing. Alya immediately took the lead.

—We need allies. For this to work, we need to do the same thing they did... But worse.

The following days everything continued as usual and relatively calm. Everyone acted normally, as if nothing had happened. For your part, you continued seeing Nathaniel, helping him with his artistic projects, forcing yourself to smile every time he held your hand or smiled at you with the same sweetness as always, although inside his betrayal continued to eat away at you and the fact that he acted so calm as if he hadn't done anything only made everything worse. The same was true for the others. Marinette endured Adrien’s kind gaze, Alix continued to race Kim, Mylene continued to cuddle with Ivan, and Alya still laughed with Nino as if nothing had happened. This was all part of the plan, and one by one, they began to recruit allies.

Chloe was the first to act. She contacted Felix, Adrien’s cousin, who by chance to be in a relationship with Kagami. After meeting at a fancy cafe, Chloe bluntly explained what had happened and the idea. Felix remained silent for a few seconds before a cold smile formed on his face.

—So Kagami and my cousin have been treating me like an idiot? —he asked in an icy voice.

—Exactly —Chloe stated, her expression superior. —And we want to return the favor.

Felix calmly took his cup of tea, but his gaze shone with contained anger before he calmly replied. —I’m in.

Meanwhile, you had your own missions. You knew that going to Luka was a low blow. He had always been a close friend and overly kind to everyone, so asking him for help with something like this wasn't easy. But seeing Nathaniel continue to act as if nothing happened after what happened at the hotel made you boil inside. You found yourself at the dock, the place where you used to chat when something worried you. Marinette was also there with the same goal and backing you up. You both looked at each other for a moment before nodding confidently and entering the Couffaine home.

—Hi! What a surprise to see you both. Is something wrong? —Luka asks, giving a half smile that is quickly erased when he sees their serious expressions.

—Adrien and Nathaniel tricked us. Not just those two… All of them. —Marinette quickly speaks, being direct.

Luka frowned after hearing the statement. —How?

While you explained the situation and the idea of the plan, Luka listened in silence, his eyes reflecting a mix of surprise and disappointment.

—I’m so sorry —he answered sincerely, looking at both of them. —I like Adrien and Nathaniel, but this…

—We want revenge —Marinette intervened. —And we need your help, Luka.

Luka sighed, running a hand through his hair in an attempt to clear his thoughts. —It’s not my style, but… You’re my best friends. If this makes you feel better, I’m in.

Meanwhile, Alya, Alix, and Mylene took charge of recruiting some boys from class. Max, who was close to Kim, was one of the first to agree, outraged by his friend’s behavior. Other classmates also joined in, willing to help. On Juleka’s side, Rose and Sabrina were working on something essential to make the plan perfect. With Sabrina’s skill, they managed to get a high-quality camera. The three of them made sure everything would work when the time came.

And finally, at your last stop, you had to convince Marc. You knew he was Nathaniel’s best friend, but he was also your friend. You weren’t sure if he would agree, but you had to try. After seeing him in the library drawing in his notebook, you sat down next to him before he looked up and greeted you. After explaining the situation to him, you watched his reaction closely. At first, Marc seemed reluctant.

—That… It doesn’t sound like something he would do —Marc pressed his lips together, clearly disturbed.

—But it is —you replied firmly.

—I don’t know… I mean, Nathaniel is my friend. I don’t want to hurt him.

—I didn’t want him to hurt me —either you replied quietly, avoiding his gaze for a moment before turning back to him. Marc lowered his head, uncomfortable. —You don’t have to do anything drastic —you continued. —Just be present. That’ll be enough. But if you don’t want to get involved, I’ll understand that too.

There was a long silence before Marc sighed and nodded. —Okay, I’ll do it for you.

With all the allies gathered, they all met back up in the park.

—Are we sure about this? —Juleka asked quietly, her arms crossed as she looked at Rose by her side and Sabrina, who put the camera back in her bag.

—More than ever —Alix replied with a nod and everyone else followed with a confident gesture.

—Hopefully, we can start tonight —Alya announced.

Looking around and then at all the girls, you didn’t know how far they were going to go with this, but one thing was for sure: there would be no turning back.

That night turned into complete madness, though not in a bad way. Everything had gone perfectly, every detail executed with precision. Between laughter, touching, and the excitement of the moment, they managed to accomplish the task without anyone suspecting a thing. Sabrina, who was in charge of recording everything along with Juleka and Rose, remained at her post, but she couldn't help but smile as well when she was invited to join. Now in charge of the camera, Juleka and Rose went through every corner recording everything they could, while Rose cheered and Juleka handled the camera so that everything could be seen in quality. The night had gone great. Not only had they completed the plan successfully, but, to everyone's surprise, the experience turned out to be incredibly fun. When everything was over and the boys left, the girls stayed to remove any trace of the evening. Despite the chaos that was coming, the satisfaction on their faces was evident.

With the material in Alya's hands, the next phase of the plan began. The next afternoon Alya got to work editing with surgical precision. For the first time working alongside Chloe, who had insisted on adding her own personal touches.

—This needs… Something more —Chloe commented, smirking as she looked through the material. Alya snorted, but remained open to hearing her idea.

—What do you have in mind? —Alya asked, raising an eyebrow.

—Something special for each of them. Something that will make them feel the humiliation in their bones.

After hearing her, Alya handed over the keyboard to her with a smile. Chloe took her time typing personalized messages to each of the boys, making sure they hurt like knives. She stopped especially at Adrien. Her fingers moved with precision over the keyboard before pressing “save.” Alya stared at the screen in silence for a few seconds, reading the message.

—That’s… Brutal.

—Too much? —Chloe asked with false innocence.

—No —Alya answered with a crooked smile —It's perfect.

When the video was ready, they all met back where it all began: the park. Juleka, Rose and Sabrina had done an excellent job gathering information. Thanks to them, they knew that that afternoon all the boys would meet at Adrien's house. It was the perfect moment. After coordinating the video to send it directly to Adrien's computer, with just one "click" the video was sent. They knew that, being with the others, he wouldn't be able to ignore it. And so it was.

In the enormous Agreste mansion, Adrien, Nino, Nathaniel, Kim, Ivan and a few others were scattered around Adrien's room while chatting or just hanging out with something they found there. Suddenly, Adrien's computer emitted a notification, which made him approach curiously.

—Alya sent me a video —he commented out loud even without opening the file. This caused the others to quickly approach, curious.

—Alya? —Nino asked, confused.

Without thinking much, Adrien pressed the play button. The screen lit up with the image of a luxurious hotel room, immediately recognizable as a suite at the Bourgeois hotel. But what captured everyone’s attention wasn’t the surroundings, but what was happening inside. The girls were there, surrounded by companions, and what happened next left them speechless.

Alya appeared on screen, carefreely kissing Max while both drank a bottle of alcohol. Her expression was one of pure amusement, completely lost in her own world. As the video continued to play, a cruel phrase appeared in large: “For the fool who can’t even seem to make his girlfriend laugh, here's someone who makes her more than laugh.” After reading that, Nino felt a lump in his throat, his hands clenching his knuckles tightly. He was ready to talk if only the video had not continued.

The next shot showed Mylene, sitting on a couch with an unknown boy, who was most likely not from that school. Mylene was smiling blushingly as the boy picked her up and sat her on his lap. Likewise, a phrase appeared in large: “Maybe sweetness isn’t everything, especially when you don’t have what it takes to satisfy your girl.” The message made Ivan feel like he had been punched in the stomach while simultaneously frowning.

The third shot showed Alix, in the arms of an unknown boy and Max. Her attitude was one of absolute mockery. As soon as the camera focused on her, she raised her middle finger while smiling. Another new phrase appeared on the screen: “To the sprinter who thinks he can win every race. Apparently, someone already beat you in the most important one.” Kim gritted her teeth tightly, feeling her pride shattered.

Soon the image changed. Luka appeared next to you, both kissing as if they were the only ones there. The scene was real, intense. Your tongues intertwined while Luka’s hands ran over your waist. To top it off, Marc came into the frame and held a shy kiss with you. The phrase was clear: “To the artist who should learn more from others. What a shame that he can’t be more than a shadow.” Nathaniel immediately closed his eyes, trying to hide the humiliation. His face paled for a moment as your scene repeated itself in his mind over and over again.

And just when they thought nothing could be worse, Marinette and Chloe appeared together, sharing a three-way kiss with Felix. Each one sitting on each side, keeping him in between them. Felix smiled with satisfaction, enjoying the attention as he drew the two girls close to him. The kiss was neither shy nor accidental, but provocative and shameless. The phrase that accompanied this was, without a doubt, the cruelest of all: “to the boy who could never take control of his own life. Too bad your mother isn’t alive to see how pathetic you are.” The image alone had already hurt Adrien, but what completely destroyed him was the ruthless message he read. He felt the air escape from his chest.

The video ended with everyone who had participated in a single shot gathered together, smiling and waving calmly at the camera as if it had been a simple game, before the screen faded to black.

The silence that took over the room was deathly. The boys stood still, their blood boiling and their hearts beating wildly from the great humiliation. The blows had been accurate. Deadly. Each of them had a different reaction: some were paralyzed, others seething with fury. Nathaniel could barely process it; Her voice only whispered your name and her mind repeated the image of you, Luka and Marc. Nino clenched his fists with his jaw tense. He couldn’t believe what he had just seen.

—This has to be a joke —Kim muttered, feeling anger bubbling up in her chest before she hit the nearest table hard, causing some of the boys to jump in fright. —I can’t believe this!

Adrien, on the other hand, couldn’t move. His eyes were fixed on the blacked-out screen, his mind spinning around the last sentence he had read. “Too bad your mother isn’t alive to see how pathetic you are.” His body trembled with anger. Slowly, he stood up, determined not to let something like that pass. One by one, the others followed suit, with determined expressions.

In the park, the girls, along with the others involved, chatted calmly. Some were more nervous than others, but no one gave any indication of wanting to escape or back out.

—Well, that went better than expected. I'd give anything to see their faces when they saw that video —Chloe said calmly, smiling relaxedly as she looked at her nails.

—I feel a little bad though... —Marc muttered, somewhat unsure of having participated.

—Don't worry, they asked for it —Alix reassured him, patting his shoulder.

The tranquility was interrupted when a group appeared on the other side of the park. The boys. With quick, furious steps they approached and chaos was quick to erupt.

—What the hell was that video, Alya?! —Nino's voice echoed with contained rage.

—What you deserved. —Alya responded with crossed arms and a direct response.

Nino stepped forward to say something else, but before he could open his mouth, Kim exploded.

—Do you have any idea what you did?! —He roared furiously, his gaze fixed on Alix.

—Oh please, are you surprised that people get tired of you? —Alix replied sarcastically, still staring at him; this made Kim grit her teeth before turning sharply to Max.

—Traitor! You were supposed to be my friend!

Max, far from backing down, calmly adjusted his glasses. —I was. Until I saw you act like an idiot to Alix and with everyone else.

Kim felt fury overflow. Without thinking, she launched herself at Max, pushing him hard. A couple of hits were enough for the other boys to start fighting as well. Nathaniel, who had remained silent since he had seen the video, seeing Luka made his rage come to the surface.

—You took her from me! —Nathaniel shouted, approaching Luka with eyes burning with anger as he pushed him.

Luka, already seeing all this coming, did not hesitate to respond. —You never valued her! —he replied, returning his push with a stronger one.

The tension rose, and within seconds Marc tried to meditate with both of them, but instead ended up being dragged into the fight.

—You betrayed me too! —Nathaniel shouted furiously, looking at him with the same contempt with which he had looked at Luka.

Meanwhile, Adrien didn't hesitate to launch himself at Felix at the slightest opportunity.

—How could you?! You're my family! —Adrien looked at him with his face contorted with fury.

Felix, with his usual coldness, only smiled mockingly. —Don't play the martyr, dear cousin.

Adrien didn't need more to throw a punch that hit Felix directly in the face. Without losing his cool, Felix wiped the blood from the side of his mouth before hitting him back with impeccable precision.

The exchange of blows and screams turned into absolute chaos in no time. Nino, Kim, and Ivan launched themselves at Max and the other boys involved without planning to leave any of them with an unscathed face. Soon the street was filled with insults, screams, and fists clashing. This soon caught the attention of passersby, and soon after, a group of people had gathered, watching the spectacle. The girls, who had initially stood watching the outcome, decided to intervene to protect the boys they still cared about. Marinette and Chloe launched themselves at Adrien and Felix trying to stop them, while you tried to stop the fight between Nathaniel, Luka and Marc, Mylene tried to meditate with Ivan, Alix tried to help Max by kicking Kim away, while Alya did the same with Nino. Each one separated the boys they could, while making sure that no one else got involved. The park, which had previously been a quiet place, became a battlefield. Insults and blows flew everywhere; even some of the group of people gathered took out their phones to record. Juleka, Rose and Sabrina, seeing that the situation was getting out of hand, took out their phones to call the police.

—This is getting out of hand... —Juleka muttered, observing the scene. Rose, by her side, along with Sabrina, nodded in concern.

A few minutes later, the sound of sirens filled the air. The police had arrived.

—Stop right there! Police! —Roger, Sabrina’s father, arrived with a few officers, running towards the frenzied crowd, separating the brawlers with effort.

Nathaniel and Luka struggled when they were pushed aside. Adrien and Felix had to be pushed in opposite directions. Marc had a bruise on his cheek while a policeman questioned him. Ivan was still being treated by Mylene and another policeman. Kim kept picking fights with anyone she laid eyes on. Nino, with a split lip, glared at Alya angrily.

—Feeling better now? —Adrien muttered, shooting Marinette an angry look.

—Much better. —she answered seriously, before turning her head in another direction.

Nathaniel, on the other hand, could barely look at you, and you didn't look at him either, knowing that what they both had was over.

—Forget it, Nathaniel. —you answered dryly when you saw him approach you, without even looking at him. Nathaniel didn't insist any more, lowering his gaze while touching the bump on his forehead, which he covered with his hair.

Chloe, on the other hand, seemed to complain more about her broken nail than about the disaster that had occurred, as she struggled with an officer to get him to let her go, threatening to tell her father. Alya looked coldly at Nino without saying a word. Alix smiled satisfied at Kim, who couldn't stop steaming from her ears, and Mylene couldn't stop crying.

—Everyone will come to the police station. Now. —Roger looked at them disapprovingly before leading them to the patrol cars.

The chaos had reached its peak. Revenge was complete. But the consequences for everyone were just beginning. Deep down you knew that after this, nothing would ever be the same for anyone. What was once friendship and love was now replaced by a feeling of emptiness and bitterness. Blue and red lights flashed in the park as people scattered and those involved said nothing more except their betrayed faces. Nothing would ever be the same again. Not after that day.

A/n: oldest siblings who don't really know what to do with each other...

At the start, they are very much so, "that is my brother's brother/brother's sibling". Tim is your little brother. Tim is Dick's little brother. You are not Dick's sibling. It isn't as though you always set out to put a barrier between the two of you like that. You think (know) he'll be good with Tim because Tim looks up to him, adores him even, and he'd be a great older brother figure for Tim but you don't need that.

Dick and Bruce’s relationship was… messy at the time you and Tim first got acquainted with them. It was just easier to send Tim off with Dick while you dealt with Bruce in that period. They could get closer and you wouldn’t have to worry about Tim facing the brunt of Bruce’s problems. And so, as it were, you never sought out Dick and he never sought you out either.

You were still both very consciously aware of each other, of course. Guiltily, it was easier for Dick to think of you like an adult back then and it was also just easier to spend time with Tim instead. You took care of Tim and in the short periods of time where you and Dick were in the same orbit, you spoke to him like a parent dropping their child off with a babysitter.

Things get better. You subtly push Dick to come back to the manor more often because although Bruce is emotionally constipated as all hell, you know he cares for Dick. Besides, Tim is happier when he's around too.

And then Janet Drake dies, Jack Drake ends up in a coma, you inherit a company and Dick remembers that you're only 16.

You and Tim don't look any different on the day of the funeral compared to any other day. Maybe it hits him that nothing has really changed for the two of you. Maybe it's always been you taking care of Tim. Maybe having the Waynes is the first time either of you have had an adult really give a damn.

The thing is that Dick tries very, very, hard to get closer to you and although you don't outright reject him, you never seem particularly receptive to his attempts at bonding. There always seems to be an insurmountable barrier between you and him.

You're seemingly always able to pinpoint how exactly to help Dick when he's struggling. But, it's hard for him to reciprocate when you're so closed off. He wants to be someone reliable for you too. If only you'd let him.

You, on the other hand, think that you and Dick are getting along just fine. It's always been like this since the two of you met so it's okay isn't it? You don't need him to pay attention to you because he already has a bunch of other things to take care of like Bludhaven and the Titans. It's a pointless endeavour to spend his energy on someone who's just "Tim's sibling".

Rather than two older siblings trying to older sibling each other, it's more like two cautious cats circling each other trying not to overstep boundaries. (Not including when you first met when you were perfectly okay with overstepping every boundary to wrangle the Wayne manor residents into something decent enough.)

Overtime, you and Dick inch forward incredibly slowly towards something less distant. You bring groceries to his apartment in Bludhaven and eat the snacks in his fridge. He can ask you to hang out without needing Tim as a buffer all the time.

When you do have problems, you're actually pretty likely to go to Dick out of everyone in the Batfam who's older than you. You don't talk to Bruce about it because it's Bruce and you don't talk to Alfred because you feel like he already had too much on his plate and you do sometimes talk to Barbara but you feel like she's busy more often.

It's difficult to exactly define you guys as older/younger siblings per se but it's something. It's something good enough.

Okay I promise my next post will be the angst comic part 4 but FIRST. THE ONE AND ONLY THING I SHIP

LITERALLY THE SECOND PERSON WHO GUESSED THE PAIRING GOT IT CORRECT??? THAT WAS FAST. This is a situation where I have to go "okay hear me out" because it makes 0 sense to anyone but me. This is really long and very dependent on my au comic nobody but me has read, but the TL;DR is:

I feel like they'd be a good pairing because shamura loves to learn but doesn't care about material goods, and mystic seller is used to all gods talking to them only BECAUSE they offer material goods. So when somebody actually wanted to know about *them* personally and what it's like to be a weird angel thing, the two established a bond. Also they're both agender and most likely asexual AND don't seem to be socially aware despite being ancient wise beings that know seemingly everything, so they understood each other like instantly.

I have a lot of sketches of them hanging out but here's a shitpost sketch thing I made AAAAAGES ago

Okay so from an in-game standpoint, mystic seller pops up to tell you how the post-game works with purgatory and all that, and introduces the purged bosses. Really ratau could've done that as the established Tutorial Guy, or even narinder but there IS the chance that you killed both of them (lol) so mystic seller is the unkillable, all-knowing angel that shows up to say "you suck at killing people. The bishops are trapped in purgatory, you know. You should probably do something about that".

But from like a CHARACTER standpoint what do they stand to gain? They're not even from your dimension so why should they care, they're just here for your god tears? From the dialogue about the bishops we can see that they don't really give a shit about any of them, EXCEPT! SHAMURA? Mystic seller doesn't feel emotions like "our kind" does but one of the only times they do, it's to say it's a shame what happened to shamura. They also say they didn't barter with them much, because they "needed little".

SO THAT HAD ME THINKING. My au comic (which is hundreds of sketched panels and the full thing will never see the light of day unless I post it unfinished. Eugh) is about shamura going around chronicling everything they witnessed during the time they were alive, and they notice everyone is like...selfish. Trying to be the last god standing. Really obsessed with trinkets and charms, so some of the gods just go around harvesting relics from the other gods and using their powers to survive a little longer. Shamura has visions of the future of siblings they don't know they have yet, so they try to be friendly with the rest of the pantheon to form a family and it always bites them in the ass, so they have to kill them.

Eventually they end up with all these fuckin god tears and they're thinking "what do I even do with these? Nobody wants them and everyone has them", and BOOM. MYSTIC SELLER JUMPSCARE. They do the whole introduction where they say they have loot in exchange for god tears, shamura just drops off the tears and is like "I don't care about trinkets, bye" and the seller is like. What Thy Fuck. Because every other god is pretty adamant on getting something good in exchange for the tears. So they call them back and ask if there's ANYTHING at all they want. And shamura, being the self-proclaimed wisdom god, just asks the seller to talk about themself for a while, who's just like okkaaayyy?? Nobody else ever asked what it's like to be a bizarre circle headed angelic creature that collects magical bits and pieces, but shamura LOVES to learn, and the two bonded that way. Shamura would bring the mystic seller god tears, the seller would tell them a story, they'd write it down to put in their archives and the conversations eventually got more personal when the stories started to run out. They both realized they don't understand how other people work, but they knew how *each other* worked so they could kinda learn how to function as normal people with each other's observations.

When I say I ship them I mostly mean like a QPP situation because I think they'd be good partners in the most autistic asexual way possible, where they don't make out sloppy style or outright say "I love you", but they have an understanding of one another that doesn't apply to anyone else really. They don't have to rely on conventional relationship stuff to know the other one cares deeply for them in the most nonverbal, oddly specific way possible. I know shamura's the smart one but I really feel like that extends to everything except understanding how people work, hence all the stuff that happened with narinder and the rest of the family. So finding someone else outside the pantheon who is quite literally inhuman, otherworldly, genderless and uninterested in Carnal Desire would definitely make them feel the closest thing to romantic love that they can. Also, since mystic seller lets the gods name them, shamura named them "sunshine" after hearing one of their followers singing that "you are my sunshine" song to the person they loved the most. I always liked how shamura has their little moon crown and the mystic seller is depicted as the sun in some of the art? They go together well is what I'm saying and I'm kinda surprised nobody has done anything of them yet.

I WILL SAY I have angst planned for them once I do the introductory comics, it has to do with how narinder's imprisonment happened literally right in front of where mystic seller sets up shop, so canonically it's safe to assume they watched shamura get lobotomized in real time :')

But for now...I must go back to kallamar angst cause I've been putting off posting this part. It gets very mentally ill very quickly so I needed to balance it out with fluff......

Elriels are funny. We've been in Azriel's head. One time and know exactly what he's thinking. He is attracted to Elain... but that's all. Their story would never be about choosing love over a bond because Azriel's only motive to go after her is because he believes she should be his mate. His brothers are mated to her sisters, so, in his mind, it's only natural he should be mated to Elain. Even if they ended up together somehow, Azriel's fixation with the bond would not fade, because it's already there when he thinks of the middle Archeron sister. The moment Azriel found his mate would also be the moment he left Elain. And that mate will be Gwyn. He will leave Elain the moment the bond snaps for him and Gwyn.

Are you a romance reader? Like I’m genuinely asking anon if you read romance books a lot? Because in 90% of romance books the love interests don’t confess any sort of feelings for a while into their love story.Romantic pairings in romance books usually start out w lust. (Especially in sjms books)The author shows the reader that the MC’s are into each other by the way the characters act, by their actions toward each other and then once the story gets going we get the love confessions. We haven’t even had Azriel or Elains story yet.

We have been n Azriels pov for one singular bonus chapter. Of course we’re not going to get any sort of love confessions in a bonus chapter. Remember Cassian & Nestas bonus chapter from Acomaf? When we were in cassians pov was he thinking about how much he loved or deeply cared for Nesta? NO LOL he was thinking about how badly he wanted her. His physical attraction to her… they had a almost kiss that didn’t happen in that bonus chapter as well. HMM SOUND FAMILIAR?!?!

But I’ll play along….

So Azriel and Elain get to know each other slowly over two years and then start to like each other… he spends time alone with her in the garden and on Soltice in acofas past 3am never once makes a move on her just hangs and talks w her…. And you think this man doesnt have deeper feelings then lust?

Azriel was the first to notice she was taken in acowar and was full of rage and was willing to die to get her back, then when he gets her back he’s bleeding out and won’t even get looked at until he knows she’s ok…And you think this man doesnt have deeper feelings then lust?

In azriels bonus chapter we learn He can’t sleep because he’s thinking about Elain so much, he saved her Soltice gift put it on his nightstand and looks at it everyday for a year, his razor sharp thoughts go quiet around her, he has a physical reaction to eluciens mating bond, he can read her without his shadows, he questions the cauldron over Elain… not finding a mate… but over Elain…And you think this man doesnt have deeper feelings then lust?

You guys take the one sentence where he says he hasn’t planned farther then his fantasies to mean he only lusts for her!!! Which doesn’t even mean that. It means he hasn’t made any plans for elain bc she has a mate. She is off limits to him. Rhysand reinforces this in the bonus chapter. We know he thinks more about her. He’s losing sleep because that’s how much he’s thinking about her and upset because he can’t do anything about it…. And you think this man doesnt have deeper feelings then lust?

If Azriel did any one of these things for Gwyn yall would never stop saying he was in love w her. I mean you guys take him smiling at her when she cut the ribbon in training as him being into her so please be so for real right now. Yall know Azriel is into Elain much deeper than lust.

Azriel is not fixated on a mate bond. He is into Elain who already has a mate lol… if he was going after elain because he’s just fixated on the mate bond why would he be going after someone who already has a mate? That makes no sense whatsoever

But you know who Azriel is not thinking about? Gwyn. He lived in the same court as her for over 2 years and never even checked up on her after Sangravah. Then when he starts training w her for months never even thinks about her to get her her own gift. He pawns off the necklace he got for elain which she gave back to Gwyn anon. Meaning if Elain didn’t return it Gwyn woulda got nothing. Then when Gwyn is taken to the blood rite Azriel cares more about Saving Eris then gwyns well being. And even after that when Gwyn goes to the river house after they complete the blood rite azriels in the same damn house and doesn’t even walk over a couple of rooms to make sure she’s ok🫣

Even if you want to convince yourself all Azriel feels for Elain now is lust that’s still not a good point for your ship LOL bc he’s known gwyn longer and been around her more and is not attracted to her like that.

Remember when SJM had rowan lusting after Aelin in her gold nightgown lonnnnggg before they were together or admitted they had feelings for one another? Remember when SJM had hunt drooling over Bryce in her pink dress lonnnng before he admitted his feelings to her or that he even had any? Remember when Casssian was insanely attracted to Nesta in acomaf lonnnnngg before admitted to having any sort of feelings for her? Ever since you were young, Shadow Weaver used and treated you like her own personal punching bag. Whether she was upset over a defeat for the Horde, struggling with her powers, or having to deal with Hordak's criticism, she always turned to you to be the one she could take it out on.

Although it happened for so long, you never told anyone about your abuse. You weren't really close with anybody in the Horde, and you also didn't see the point in it. I mean, it's not like anybody could do much to help.

As a force captain, you often met up with the other force captains to train together. That's where you first met Adora when she used to belong to the Horde, and that's also where you met Catra.

You'd heard a lot about her from the short time Adora had been a force captain, but she was much more intimidating than you expected her to be. You would soon find she was also just as fragile.

The two of you trained together often, but you didn't usually change together in the locker rooms because you didn't know each other that well. One day while you were changing shirts, Catra walked in and saw some of the scars you had on your back from Shadow Weaver's beatings.

"Woah, what happened to you?" She blurted out, not really one who cared for others feelings all that much. "Was it one of the princesses that did it?"

You sighed, knowing she was bound to find out sooner or later. As lying would only make things worse, you stuck with telling the truth. "Uh, no. They were from Shadow Weaver."

Catra's ears immediately flattened back against her head at the mention of her mentor's name. "Shadow Weaver did that to you? But... Why?"

Shrugging, you put your dirty clothes back in your locker and shut it. "Dunno. I guess she figured it'd be easiest to take her rage out on a little kid who couldn't fight back." You leaned up against the locker, shoving your hands in your pockets. "She doesn't do it anymore, though. I think ever since I became a force captain she sort of became scared of me."

Catra scoffed, rolling her eyes some. "Wow, you made Shadow Weaver of all people scared of you? I must admit, that's pretty impressive." She crossed her arms, her gaze falling to the floor before she spoke up again in a much smaller voice. "She hurt me, too. It was mostly verbal, but it didn't hurt any less."

You nodded at her words, your eyes softening as you watched her. "Yeah, I get that." It's quiet for a moment before you suddenly say, "Hey, do you wanna... I don't know, maybe hang out some? Maybe we can talk about some plans for our next attack against Bright Moon."

The corners of her lips quirked upwards as she looked back up, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Yeah, I've got nothing else going on. And you know what, maybe one day the two of us will be in charge, and we can get rid of Shadow Weaver for once and for good."

You smiled back as you walked with her towards the locker room door. "Yeah, maybe."

and for ppl who are new, literally the reason a lot of us are so Compelled is precisely bc Lando and Oscar don't follow the cookie cutter bromance format and their respect and interest in each other doesn't rely on common activities or playing into fan PR. they're literally the anti-PR partnership not bc they hate each other or have drama but bc every member of their team says how much they've bonded as drivers and that every time we get content of them together they're beaming at each other and seem to have all these cute little in-jokes and softness. but none of it is for show! none of it jumps off the screen or has them knowingly trying to bait fans!

it's been this gradual little dance between two guys who each have a unique preoccupation with each other but they don't do any of the usual blokey things to force a friendship. Lando's fixations on Oscar's name and his hair and how he's taller and bigger than him and the weirdly horny verbal burps that come out aren't something he does with any of his other driver friends. Oscar is so chilled about other drivers and doesn't even do the whole hero worship thing, yet his internet history about Lando is it's own extremely unique thing that has carried over as his teammate in a way he's never been about another driver.

they don't roughhouse or make fun of each other or push each other's buttons for fun and they don't even raise their voices around each other ?? everything is so gentle and not macho at all ! Lando strangely feels awkward and looks right at Oscar to explain why he diverted to visit Daniel with Martin as a spontaneous unplanned thing even though Oscar wasn't even in Australia anymore when that happened and Oscar didn't even feel like it needed to be explained! Oscar learns and adapts to what Lando feels sensitive about and needs some help with and sometimes even keeps an eye out for his physical well being.

and I think something that has kind of been missed entirely is that the context for the latest video was Lando saying how he's always been the youngest or least experienced in a driver friendship dynamic and - as he's said many times before! - he finds the idea of having to be the older experienced leader not at all comfortable!

which leads to smth a lot of us have always found the sweetest part of the 814 dynamic, the fact that Lando realized early on that he doesn't have to Try with Oscar and he can just exist in his feelings with Oscar and Oscar does not push and he does not get annoyed or weird or offended! and that means that Lando is yes, free to be the full range of bratty to sweetheart and everything in between bc Oscar will just smile at him and be patient. but !! it also means that unless Lando uses his words or takes charge, Oscar will remain in that quiet patient position in their dynamic and won't presume to take charge.

When are we gonna acknowledge the fact that the whole "Sonic is super cheerful around Shadow who finds him annoying" thing only started in Shadow the Hedgehog and that this isn't, like. their default

You wanna know what their original dynamic was? Sonic getting ticked off by Shadow's very presence, who would stop in the middle of anything no matter how urgent and time-sensitive it was just to mess with Sonic.

(He got sidetracked from his own mission to save Rouge from THE EXPLOSIVES THAT HE SET because the urge to make fun of Sonic was too strong. what is wrong with him)

And it's Sonic who starts their first fight, by the way. He was clearly taking Shadow much more seriously than the other way around; he genuinely wanted to fight, while I'm pretty sure Shadow just wanted to have some fun and show off. (AS THE BOMB IS STILL TICKING)

But at the same time, most likely because he was having fun, he seemed to be hoping that Sonic would prove himself to be something more than just... Some Guy. Why else would he seem disappointed that Sonic could be killed? And so impressed (dare I say proud) when it turned out that he survived by using Chaos Control with a fake Emerald?

All of the animosity was on Sonic's end - Shadow was the one who wanted someone to rival him. He never disliked Sonic, or found him annoying to be around. If he did, he wouldn't have spent so much time around him to begin with.

And they were somehow like this in Heroes, too. Despite his amnesia, Shadow once again listens to Sonic talk for a few seconds and immediately decides that he needs to taunt him. Searching for the answers to his identity can wait, he just thought of a great comeback and needs to style on this random hedgehog for a bit

Then you've got the absolute whiplash of Shadow's game, where all of a sudden Sonic is Super Friendly towards Shadow, who's having none of it. Even if you try to make the argument that Sonic is trying to be friendlier on purpose because he wants to bond with Shadow more, the game portrays it as if this is just How Sonic Is.

Sure, I'd expect him to be picking fewer fights with Shadow when they're working together to save the world, but he's like. borderline giddy all the time. it's kinda funny but so, so confusing in the grand scheme of things.

Sonic 06 gave a much more sensible portrayal of how the two would talk to each other after they're done being enemies, I think. There's a little bit of rivalry in there, but it's not born out of them conflicting with each other. There's no hesitation to work together, no grumbling from Shadow, and Sonic isn't being uncharacteristically excitable about it.

(Plus they retained the silent communication thing they had going at the end of SA2, which is nice)

Unfortunately, 06 was the first and only time that we would see the two of them written this way, as friends who maybe don't "hang out" but aren't the type to bicker or turn everything into a competition at the expense of practicality.

There was no hesitation to the respect they had for each other, either, which is easily the most baffling part of their current portrayals. Not even their Boom counterparts had any hangups about that, and they were legitimately antagonistic towards each other most of the time.

Case in point, I think it's very easy to look at their designs and put them into stereotypical little boxes where Sonic is the ray of sunshine while Shadow is too edgy to find him anything but annoying, but that's just. not how they are at all, and the actual ways their personalities used to bounce off of each other was both funnier and more interesting in my opinion

in the Mafia AU I imagine that Dream would still lock himself in his office to work on paperwork for days at a time because he has a bed and SNF know to bring food to his office if they haven’t seen him for a bit and Team Mafia has never seen this happen so when Dream suddenly disappears when SNF are busy. When SNF get back they manage to calm everyone down and show them that Dream has tucked himself away to work on something and legitimately couldn’t hear them looking for him

A literal manhunt(lol) to find Dream. Like they have eyes on SNF as they're out currently...but how did they lose track of Dream??? What the fuck??

There's this very real thought of "he ran away, he escaped" that's going through them. That after all this time, after all this bonding, they still want to escape.....it hurts. More than they thought it would...

It really is a scramble to get their men out there and to find Dream. The immediately want to bring George and Sapnap back home, but they don't know if they were in on this plan of Dream escaping. They need to watch them to see if they indicate anything, if they know Dream was leaving. Surely they would.....but as they observe and see Sapnap and George talking with each other casually, already on their way back home and talking about things they're eager to do once they get back. Things they want to do with the guys.....it's another dreadful idea that springs up....

What if Sapnap and Geprge /don't/ know Dream is gone....and...the Team KNOWS Dream would never leave those two behind. So...what if.....what if Dream was stolen right under their noses? KIDNAPPED??? ONLY THEY CAN DO THAT!!!???

It's Rich and Farfa and Spreen extremely frustrated and angry and trying to figure things out. Shadoune and most of the rest of them are worried and trying their best to help out. Serpias is probably on the near edge of jumping out a window.....

And once snf return, it really is them bewildered seeing all the guys checking on them, asking them questions if they met anyone suspicious recently, if they're ok, just overall worried about them. And that makes Sapnap a wee bit nervous and George just confused, he's the one asking whats happening??

And the guys will all look at each other. They know they have to break thr news immediately, they can't really cover up that Dream is /gone/. Kidnapped....

And they tell them as such. And the seriousness of it DOES scare George and Sapnap. Because it must be true. Why would they come up with something so scary?? And it's Sapnap freaking out and saying it must be a weird joke and George upset and angry asking how they could let that happen??? They were supposed to take care of Dream?? All three of them????

It's just a pit in the stomach for all of them. They failed..../again/. Let one of them be taken....

George is the one taking the charge between him and Sapnap, asking what they've done so far, any leads, where did this exactly happen?

And as the guys started explaining how Dream was last seen in the house, he claimed he was off to help Rich with work and then...he was just gone, searched basically everywhere in this giant place. And Sapnap very quietly goes "even his office...?"

".....what office."

Sapnap and George turn to each other and the BIGGEST sigh they let out. They start leading the other guys around their OWN home. And all the guys are like....WHAT OFFICE???

Sapnap is giggling now, getting his nerves out and starting to tease the guys.

And as they keep being lead around....it's like....OK this house is pretty big....but we swear we searched all the rooms? And they all start asking amongst each other who did the room searches and it's like "I thought conter did it?" "I thought spreen did it?" "I thought...?" And it's just George and Sapnap starting to laugh at the whole situation

They finally approach this far off room, definitely away from where most of the guys hang out and make noise.....George goes to open the handle....but it jiggles locked...George is grinning, so is Sapnap.

"Guys he's still home, bakaaa"

George will produce a key (how did they get spare keys??), click goes the door, and George will enter. Sapnap stands by the doorway and all the guys are crowding around trying to peak through!!! And!!!

George is sitting at the edge of a twin bed. And there is Dream. Curled up with a fluffy blanket. And a desk to the side, full of stacks of paperwork(how did he manage to bring all that from Rich's office??)

And George is gently shaking him awake. A grumpy Dream arises haha

Dream is more than a little confused to see everyone in his little office. But he was so eepy, he needed a nap.....

This is so sweet,, My sweet boys :( I don't care if it doesn't make sense with the timeline or whatever, but Sanji ends up meeting them when they're kids. I always use this plot, but-- The Orbit gets stranded in Goa and of course, the kids find out because they're always waiting for pirates. So ASL finds Sanji and they won't stop asking questions about piracy and his life and telling him how excited they are to become pirates. Sanji is- Saying overwhelmed would be an understatement because imagine a kid like him hanging out with THEM. But he has so much fun, too, because it's been so long ever since he saw somebody his age and he's not used to hanging out with them but they welcome him with open arms. They tell him that they're brothers (Ace and Sabo fighting over who's the oldest, as usual) and explain to him the basics: Where they live, how they hunt for food, their training... And Sanji is just there, staring at them with eyes wide open, and asking how the hell they manage to live like this. Sanji has a bit of an attitude now in comparison to when he was with his family, but he's still a bit of a sweet crybaby who isn't used to the outside world and has the biggest heart in the world. The brothers find him so sweet,,, It makes Luffy kind of angry because "Why's he allowed to cry but when I do you call me a crybaby???" and Ace and Sabo always go "Because if you wanna be a pirate you gotta be strong! He's a cook. It's not the same" (cool way of saying 'we don't laugh at the pretty boy because we want to kiss the pretty boy, Luffy') and Sanji wants to prove them wrong and show that he's brave like them but doing what they do is just a big no-no. They always end by saying "Everybody has their strengths!!! We don't even know how to boil water" and Sanji feels all proud of himself whenever they compliment him like that.

Basically, they tell him to stay with them for as long as his ship is stranded there, and he accepts right away because they look fun and sweet and like friends, finally. And maybe they're the people Reiju was talking about when she said he'd find better people someday. So ASL hunts and Sanji cooks with the abilities he used to have when he was a kid, which are better now that he has a bit of experience, and the kids fall for him so quick. So damn quick. They taste Sanji's food and now you have Ace and Sabo experiencing their first ever crush ("first" for Sabo, because Ace's first crush was Makino and I will always find that so cute). Luffy is more focused on the food, though, but the three of them still fight over Sanji's attention. So-- I think this would be really funny. Sanji stays with them and is completely oblivious to Ace and Sabo falling for him, even if they're constantly trying to show off their abilities to get his attention. Sanji is a bit busy trying to get used to all of these emotions. Every day is fun and a bit dangerous and he does cry a lot, and the only one who can calm him down is Luffy because he knows how it feels to be scared. They play together and show him around. They introduce him to Dadan (who's about to have a heart attack because she can't deal with more kids) and she actually ends up loving him because!! The kid knows how to cook!! That is a win for them.

It's a bit weird for Sanji, to see them like that. Because he has never had any interaction with other siblings and they act so... Differently from his. Okay, yes, they fight a lot, but it's never serious. They always end up laughing. They're rough with each other but when it matters they're always using tender touches and language with each other. They calm Luffy down when he gets angry, know how to react if Ace is feeling stressed, and constantly say they miss Sabo when he isn't with them. Sanji doubts his brothers would've ever acted like that with him, so it hurts. He doesn't quite know if it's jealousy? Envy? Frustration? But Sanji knows it breaks his heart a little knowing he wasn't worthy of being loved like this. But they show him that he is worthy and he was never the problem to begin with. Because they start showering him with love too! Sanji doesn't want to be a bother, so he never asks for things and instead always tries to be useful. To sort of thank them for letting him have a place to stay. ASL just wants him to be a kid like them. They compliment his food, respect his personal space, let him participate in everything he wants, and they're so, so protective of him. Sanji might not train with them, but he's always there when they do, and if there are dangers near he knows they'll look after him without even having to ask. He wonders why they do that most of the time, and they always end up telling him "Because we don't want you to get hurt, dummy. We thought that was obvious?" and it breaks his heart a little.

They bond over so many different things. Luffy loves Sanji's cooking and won't stop asking him every day if he'll be his cook once he becomes a pirate (Sanji is always telling the three of them he has yet to decide), and he's always the one calming Sanji down whenever something's wrong. Luffy tells him in private that he knows feeling weak and scared sucks, but it isn't that bad when they're together, right? "Alone we aren't really strong, but together we are unstoppable! So stay with us, okay? That way you'll never have to cry again. I don't cry anymore because I'm all brave and a pirate, so it's my job to make sure you're always smiling!" and that melts his heart completely (and adds a new, painful meaning to Whole Cake Island. I wanna d word a little).

On the other hand, there's Ace... Ace is a complicated kid, obviously. He tries so hard to be cool and seem strong. At first, it makes Sanji admire him a lot, but then he finds out the kid is actually stupid and reckless and has to be looked after a lot too. Sanji loves being with him because he feels protected, but he's always worried Ace might get hurt. To be fair, it happens with Luffy too. However, there's just something about him... Like he's more mature than them. Like he has grown up too fast. And he hasn't talked about his past, so Sanji isn't sure why he's this way. Ace doesn't like Sanji seeing him this way, he figures, because he always pretends to be okay when Sanji knows he isn't. Until one day they have the "Should I have been born?" talk, and it's the first time somebody tells Ace "I think about that a lot too" instead of the usual "I don't know" or just a plain "Yes". They get each other so well. Ace wants to make a name for himself because his father has determined his whole future, and Sanji doesn't want to have anything to do with his father and just wants to be a normal person, but they both feel like they are a mistake, while the other keeps saying he's happy the other is alive.

And then there's Sabo. Now, Sabosan is the endgame ship here because I say so. I was just using Acesan as plot device because it's sweet and funny. Sabo, the one who always tries to be more mature and calm and cold-headed because the other two are even more chaotic than him (imagine how chaotic they are because Sabo is already... Something else), loses it the moment he meets Sanji. He's,,, He's so pretty. He's cute and knows how to cook and he's so so sweet and nice and has the biggest heart in the world. And Sabo has only seen pain and torture in the world. Living isn't just living, it's survival and escaping the pain he has to deal with his family every day. Sanji feels like living. Like, actually enjoying life when they're together. Sabo might be chaotic and he might fight a lot with Ace and Luffy for Sanji's attention, but at the end of the day, he is the gentle brother who takes more care of Sanji and is always looking after him. He brings him books from his house because he knows Sanji likes reading. He often even writes stuff for him because Sabo is a writer, and feels the need to show his art to Sanji. He lends him clothes and he's always the first one to offer to cook with him, even if he's awful at it. They're still kids so Sabo isn't quite sure what love feels like, but this is close enough, he thinks. Every time Sanji laughs? Smiles? When he speaks about the All Blue? It makes Sabo's heart do backflips. It makes him want to keep fighting and training. And Sanji sees the pain and responsibility Sabo feels in his eyes. He feels protected when he's around and it's always so much fun to be together. He likes how passionate Sabo is about writing and becoming a pirate, and he loves the way he takes care of Luffy too. Sanji ends up realizing he always puts a little bit more effort into Sabo's food... And he doesn't know what love is, but he's a bit shy around Sabo now that he knows he feels different about him.

Just imagine Makino coming to see them and meeting Sanji! She'd love him! The kid is so polite and smart and she just wants to kiss his cutie face and hug him tight. Her personality is kind of like his mom's, so it hurts a little to meet her, but she's just so sweet that Sanji can't help but grow attached to her. And God, just imagine Sabo and Sanji interacting in front of her. Sanji blushing and Sabo eating his food happily and always being so, so close to him. That woman knows what's going on, but if she asks Sabo she knows he's gonna go "What?! Sanji?! No! I don't like him! I mean- I do like him. But... But it's not that way..." / "Are you sure about that, darling? You know you can like, like him, right? It's okay. You can tell me" / ".... Do you think he likes me back? What do I do for him to like me back? What if he goes away and never finds out?!" / "I don't think you have to worry about that now, sweetie". But Makino is also a bit of a tease, so she goes to Sanji one day and says "Hey, Sanji? What do you think of Sabo?" / "..... He's really nice to me" / "He is, isn't he? He isn't that nice to everybody. Maybe you're special for him?" / "What?! I am not, how- How could I be? He's just... He just looks after me because I can't do it. I'm a burden" / "Don't say that, honey. He looks after you because he cares for you" / "He looks after Luffy too" / "It's different with you, I think. But well, he also looks after Luffy because that's what brothers do" / "Do they?" / "What, sweetie?" / "Nothing. Sorry. Sabo always asks to cook with me" / "Mmm. I wonder why".

Sanji doesn't make any promises because he has three different boys asking him if he wants to be their cook once they're captains, so he just says he wants to find the All Blue. That's enough for him. So now he has Ace, Sabo, and Luffy fighting over who will be the one taking Sanji to the All Blue. For now, Sanji just says he's everybody's cook. That's cool with them.

I think all of this could go hand in hand with the AU of Sanji and Sabo seeing each other first in a meeting between their families. So when Sanji ends up in the Goa Kingdom, Sabo already knows him and that's why they accept him into their little family so quickly. He thought Sanji was dead, so when they see each other again, Sanji is the happiest boy in the whole world. He's so protective of him. He won't stop saying how much he hates his family and Sanji. But they're alright now. They're okay.

But they're not. Because then, Sabo "dies". And the day after, Sanji has to leave with his crew. And then you have Ace and Luffy on their own, with a dead brother and Sanji promising they'll see each other again. But he's so heartbroken he doesn't know how he'll be able to keep going. He wants to find the All Blue for Sabo. He knows Sabo would've hated it if he had given up. Then the whole story goes on, yadda yadda Zeff yadda yadda Baratie yadda yadda Luffy and Sanji meet again yadda yadda Sanji joins the Strawhats yadda yadda they find Ace in Alabasta (and he's actually a bit jealous Luffy was the one who ended up with Sanji as his cook, but he's obviously happy for them). And maybe. Maybe something happens between Ace and Sanji. Maybe they kiss or something but I don't think they do anything else? Ace feels it is disrespectful to Sabo. He confesses he had a crush on Sanji when they were kids, and he's gorgeous now and he would love to be with him in some way, but it just feels wrong. Ace always knew Sabo and Sanji were meant to be, anyway, and Sanjii doesn't even want anything to happen, either. Yadda yadda yadda, Dressrosa. Oh, and isn't it hilarious how Sanji isn't even there. when it happens? Luffy meets Sabo. Everything follows canon. Except that Luffy has time to talk to him instead of Sabo running away quickly. And somebody mentions Sanji. Robin, maybe, and Sabo instantly goes "You did not take him with you!" but he's smiling when he says it. He wants to see him so bad. So, so bad. So he promises to visit the crew when he can. He promises he will see Sanji.

And then the end kind of follows the post I tagged about the other AU? Except that Luffy doesn't tell Sanji that Sabo is alive because he thinks he'll be happier if Sabo tells him himself when he pays a visit to them!!!

I just love childhood friends AUs,,, This is incredible. Awesome idea. I love Sabosan so much I might cry.

WAIT I ACTUALLY DIDNT EXPECT SOMEONE WOULD LIKE MY COMIC- THANK YOU SO MUCH... 😭 Might I say it means alot to me receiving these comments, The comic I made for that au is just based on my "Late-Night-Drunken-Doodles"

I want to call it that was cause I've always had runner up marware comics in this au every night, and whenever I write their dialogues they seem unauthentic due to my sleepyness. Wait where was I again? Oh right-

During Act 2, I originally planned to make this part whether she makes her own decisions for herself to NOT cope from the past but atleast focus on the present-future ahead. Thats why when Mario convinced to Meggy that Puzzles is not a bad person anymore, she debated on her mind if she'd give Puzzles a chance even after everything he's done.

(To remind everyone, one shot wren WORKED for Mr. Puzzles and he had admitted that during Puzzlevision Movie that he was the one behind their little adventures)

She faced on the present, proving to herself that anyone can change. Meggy destroys her hat. Forgetting Wren's existance and his bad doings that were growing all over her.

Side note- due to this scene being deleted, I decided to just make her destroy her hat with no Puzzles being in there but Wren. She just wanted to get rid of it.

And if you're also asking the Act, I had already planned a long time ago how it begins and how it ends. Acts are what I used for different side story and ALSO they're the basic set ups of rising actions and the impacts of how this story of the comic will take place in the right time. (My only problem, is that Ive never arranged them properly so my head is exploding)

We are STILL on ACT 1

Act 1 is called "Bond" it's the episode or- well- pages of the story where Mario and Puzzles made sense with each other and had their talks, said as hanging out and doing stuff together while Puzzles never realized something until now.

Although we're finally on Act 1, we have Pre-Act 1 of "Bond" which drags us to the VERY first beginning of a prologue. And yes, it's when Mario saw a TV of a head which we all figured it was actually Mr. Puzzles after his head got bashed into the sky with a luigi meat mallet. Pre-Act is yet to begin the story that would unfold into that chemistry we have going with Mario and Puzzles. So far they're still on progress with working each other out.

It might seems alot, but in a nutshell like any other. It's just some silly comic of the two complicated GAYS.

Act 2.5 in this scene is deleted and was re-written from the script. Meggy and Mr. Puzzles who are originally going to be friends of this story would probably NOT work out because they've JUST been moving on to Puzzlevision Movie after that. In the re-written version I had for her is that Meggy is now the LEAST character who has lines. But is still relevant to the story aside from SMG3 and SMG4.

The comic is atleast longer than um... than 100+ pages and these are just the Pre-Act and Act 1 still... imagine making more of that in 2 notebooks and end up having 500+ that would be a real dedication.

Okay! So I'm only going to have twoish more TLH posts for my found family rewrite. For a couple of reasons! I am super excited to get to the later books and also and I'm going to be honest I enjoyed the later half of this book a lot. There's not honestly much I would change past this point. I

Bonding Session with bonus gold statues!

Jason apologies for what happens because in his mind he's the reason Festus goes down, Leo waves him off but there is this sense of misplaced guilt

The night they spend in Midas's Palace is the first time this trip has to just breath, a lot of things come to light.

Jason and Leo apologize to each other and it's awkward and terrible but they're both trying so hard. Piper takes the moment to talk about charmspeak and about how they all have powers they rather not have.

(Jason doesn't quite know why he nods along to that, why the words preator sing in his bones. He is the son of the king of the gods and this he must rule no matter what he might think about it)

It doesn't really matter what else is discussed but this is the moment the trio start settling in as a trio. They understand where they stand with each other(think Grover telling Percy about Pan, Annabeth talking about her dad).

Piper talks about her dad and she's crying half way through it trying to get them to understand. And it's Leo, Leo who knows what it feels like to lose a parent, in a rare serious tone that they're going to save her dad even if it kills them.

Jason hesitates even if he hates himself for it but duty sings in his bones and he is well used to making sacrifices.

Family reunions

Jason doesn't remember Thaila. Thaila will never forget Jason. This causes issues to say the least

Thaila shouldn't recognize him on sight, she really shouldn't he's a completely different person than he was as a kid.

Side note, the 2 year old thing makes zero sense. Like it really doesn't. Have you met 2 year olds? I've met two year olds. They aren't even real people yet. However... If we do some time line fuckery(and let's be serious RR never cared about the timeline anyway). We can say Jason gets dumped 4-5, kicks around with Lupa until 7-8 and then goes to camp. That's still 8 years as a full legion member at 16. (If anyone has any better ideas I am all ears but this is the best I could come up with)

Anyway Thalia recognizes him and Jason doesn't believe her at first/doesn't understand. He assumes she is just talking about being children of Zeus and not... But thaila keeps talking, about the scar on his lip and his favorite foods and there is so much love in her voice that Jason can not breathe

Leo and Piper stay for this by the way(no skipping REALLY IMPORTANT character moments here). They're hanging off to the side ready to jump to Jason's defense.

He believes her if only because there is no way someone would fake that amount of adoration. She tells him their story and every word she speaks sings of so much love it makes him want to cry. What had he done to deserve this?

They hug, Thalia cries, Jason clings as hard as he can and prays to every single god he knows that he could just stay here forever.

One of the hunters offers to take a picture of the two of them with an old poloroid camera. Jason gets one and Thaila gets the other. Because they of all people understand how fleeting time can be, especially for demigods and time dulls all memories.

(as long as thaila lives she never loses that picture even when it becomes so faded she can hardly make out Jason's face.)

I'll probably have one more post wrapping up the ending of TLH and then on to SON! also if anyone wants to chat about this please feel free! I'm never sure how many people are interested in these types of posts :)

Ok ok I want you to think about swap terukane so like clock keeper Teru x exorcist Akane. And also like Akanes the super super popular school president. Yea so like thoughts/headcanons?? (I always cook up the most insane ideas in the middle of the night and I actually remember this one vaguely!)

Let’s talk about the Terukane swap au!! I’ve seen a few people write and draw for this but I’ve never rly read any of the fics or looked too much into it so I’m entirely making this shit up on my own, Ik this is a popular trope so I apologize if I miss any of the sub tropes that are included with it ;-;

It’s hard for me to separate Teru or Kou from exorcism since the Minamotos were a real life clan, but I don’t think I’d go about this in the “Akane is a Minamoto and Teru is an Aoi” way. I suppose for this au it’s most reasonable to say the Minamotos are a regular family and the Aois are the exorcist clan. That provides another fun question tho, are the Akane girls still kannagi?? Since this is strictly a Terukane swap au I’ll assume they are, though if we wanted to take it further we could swap Aoi with Nene or one of the other characters. It’s easier for me to follow strict guidelines tho so I’m gonna keep it at just Terukane being swapped

That alone changes so much of the story tho, it’s very interesting to me. We’ll say the Minamotos are still a strict/traditional family, so there’s still some pressure on Teru and Kou. Just not to the extent that there is in canon. And assuming their mom still died in due to complications from childbirth, their dad would still be absent and Teru and Kou will still have to grow up too soon by raising Tiara. But things would be significantly easier on them since they’d be taking care of the family together. Teru would learn basic life skills like cooking, which would take a load off of Kou. Then since the work would be split, they’d both have more free time on their hands. If one of them wants to hang out with friends, the other can take over cooking and cleaning for the night. Tho that would lead to numerous sibling arguments, since Teru is the oldest he’d probably push Kou around a bit when they’re younger lol. He’d run that house like the military

I want to say Kou is the one the Clock Keepers threaten him with since Teru is so protective of him, but that wouldn’t rly work since they wouldn’t be at school together during Teru’s first year of junior high. As an oldest sibling, Teru is very protective by nature, so they might be able to choose any random student. Once they have him where they want him, they throw in some threats aimed at his siblings to secure their chances of making a contract. So Teru ends up going down the same self-sacrificial route we see in canon, he becomes a Clock Keeper so that no one else has to do it

Without any siblings, Akane is the soul beholder of the family legacy. Self-sacrifice isn’t even an option for him, he’s the only one who can succeed his parents so he must do it. Then there’s Aoi, his childhood best friend. If Akane were an exorcist and they grew up together, Aoi would find out about supernaturals way sooner. Maybe he tells her himself, because he can no longer carry the burden alone. And he knows she’s a kannagi, that something bad could happen to her someday if he doesn’t keep a close eye on her, so he has to watch her like a hawk. In this au there’s not as many secrets between them, so much is at stake so they have to be transparent with each other. Akane’s honesty inspires Aoi to be more honest with him as well. So the obsession between them, platonic or otherwise, is a lot more mutual. They developed sort of a trauma bond at an early age and now they have to look out for each other

Akane’s popularity comes from his natural inclination to help others. He’s such a kind person, even if he can be aggressive. And without him having to constantly chase Aoi, no one thinks he’s a weirdo. It’s a little odd that he’s so protective of his friend, but he’s so damn nice that everyone just shrugs it off as him being sweet. Teru though? Teru is the weirdo

His family is still strict but without the same expectations placed on him, there’s no need for him to try and excel at everything. No one cares if he’s the best student so he can do whatever he wants. And yeah, he’s pretty, but he’s also loud and annoying. He teases people and gets creepily sadistic at times. This ties into my audhd Minamotos headcanon, without the pressure he’s under in canon, Teru feels less of a need to mask. He still does it to some extent due to societal pressure and all but the only opinion he really cares about are those of his siblings, so he’s content to be himself. He makes a few friends this way too, he’s not exactly popular but the people who get him get him. I’m gonna make him friends with Nene in this au, she appreciates his realness

Because of Akane’s hatred for supernaturals, they don’t get along at first. Teru joins the Student Council to keep a better eye on everyone so he can do better at his job as a Clock Keeper. Kou attending Kamome and getting closer with supernaturals has a lot to do with it. When they first meet, Akane ties Teru up and tries to interrogate him but bcuz this is Less Traumatized Teru it goes way differently than he planned. Teru’s filter is nonexistent so when Akane tries to threaten him he’s just like “oh hello cute boy I like you very much.” But the thing is, Akane can’t tell if Teru is joking or not. He assumes he must be, because there’s no way a School Mystery feels things like love and crushes. Still, Teru is so painfully Just A Regular Dude that Akane is forced to see him differently. Cue the typical Terukane “relationship built on trust” shenanigans. Reluctant partners in crime and what not

I’m not gonna go as far as to say they have a Sakura and Natsuhiko type dynamic but it’s similar. The classic “are you flirting with me?” “have been for the past 10 years, thanks for noticing” meme. Think of it as all of Teru’s jokes about liking Aoi in canon if they were directly aimed at Akane instead. Then the “wait- do you have genuine feelings for Ao-chan?” scene becomes “do you have genuine feelings for me?” or “were you serious this whole time?” Their dynamic changes a lot after that. Akane starts flirting back, and instead of using Aoi to motivate Teru he uses himself. “Help me save her and I might take you up on that offer for a date.” And then they do go on a date, at the school festival right before everything turns to shit

Adding to that, in this au I imagine Aoi and Akane are the ones betrothed in the new timeline. This brings in conflict bcuz let’s say Akane used to have feelings for Aoi but those faded over time, it’s all platonic between them now as opposed to what we see in canon. So he has the opportunity to either be with the girl he used to love, the girl he’s been with all his life, his safety blanket…or go back to the boy who’s stolen his heart. Damn that was cheesy, I’m cooking here

Kako also becomes Teru’s father figure btw bcuz he needs one. And despite his dislike for supernaturals, Teru adores Mirai bcuz she reminds him of Tiara. Found family ftw

Ieyasu: "... honestly- he is so indirect about things that get infuriating. Tell me how you ACTIALLY feel dude. But, I do have respect for him for his medicines, and he has taught me more efficient ways to make mine as well."

Masamune: "bitch thinks he can beat me and Moonlight. He has lost most of the races we have done. He is a skilled cook. I'll give him that, and I'll at least try what he makes."

Ramaru: "he often talks to me about feeling guilty. He doesn't share why, but he asks why I don't also feel guilty, too? Those discussions can be quite hard, honestly. But the other times we hang out are nice and peaceful. It's weird..."
