Another note about “Twisters”. This movie made me feel sorta vindicated in thinking that “Where the Crawdads Sing” was a bad movie, but not because of Daisy Edgar-Jones. Not that I thought she was a bad actress, but I felt that one of the reasons why the “Crawdads” movie was lacking was because the chemistry between the leads just wasn’t there. So I was wondering if the chemistry problem was an issue with the direction or if it was an issue with the actors.
Now that I’ve seen “Twisters”, I’m convinced it was the direction’s fault. Because Daisy’s chemistry with Glen Powell? My reaction is simply this:

This is one of those movies where if the leads got together, I wouldn’t be surprised because the chemistry is on point. Maybe it’s because the direction was better. If that’s the reason, I’m not surprised since this was directed by the guy who made “Minari”.
Alternate reason…maybe it’s because Glen Powell is a charisma magnet that it’s hard not to have great chemistry with him. Or maybe he and Daisy just really vibed on set. Who knows?

My dad is a big fan of Taylor's first 3 albums (especially Speak Now), but didn't keep up much after. Recently, he's been saying how he wants to catch up, so I've been getting everything I could find on CD (his preferred form of physcial media) that we didn't already own, for his birthday last Thursday

movies i watched in 2024
(part 1)
1. The Highwaymen
I really enjoyed this movie, I love me anything that has to do with Bonnie & Clyde, so I was really interested to see the other side of the story. Kevin and Woody did a phenomenal job, I'd really love to see them in another project together bc I loved their chemistry, but most of all I loved my chemistry with Kevin Costner bc omg that man is so fine.

2. Where The Crawdads Sing
I didn't even remember I watched this movie this year, that's how screwed up my concept of time is after the p*ndemic. ANYWAY, I wasn't even planning on watching this movie ever. I didn't really think much of it when I saw the trailer, all I cared about was that Taylor wrote a song for it, which I liked, but I ended up loving it after I watched this movie. I really enjoyed this movie so much omg. I haven't read the book, which is the case for me most of the time, but I really might read it at some point, idk. But the movie was really good for me, and it probably has to do with the fact that I didn't read the book so I don't have much to compare it with. BUT, I really recommend this movie. Daisy Edgar Jones does a wonderful job, and idk, I just really like how they made this movie. It made me feel like I was in high school all over again and the ending was really good. It was one of those endings that made me cry, which doesn't happen very often. And btw the aesthetic goes so hard,

3. She's The Man
Omg don't drag me but I had never watched this movie, and I don't think I had ever watched anything with Amanda on it, even though I knew who she was. I loved this movie of course, it was so funny and deserving of all the hype. I hate soccer, but I managed just fine while watching the movie. And I think this movie made me truly get the Channing Tatum hype. Like ofc he's always been hot, but this one did it for me.

4. Priscilla
I had been dying to watch this movie after I saw the trailer and it was really good. Idk if I'd watch it again, but I enjoyed seeing Priscilla's story come to life. Cailee did a fantastic job playing Priscilla and showing us her innocence and how it was corrupted. Jacob also did a great job, and I fear it solidified my love for Jacob Elordi.

5. Picture This
Idk why I had never watched this movie before, but it was such a fun little harmless movie. I kinda need to see Ashley Tisdale and Robbie Amell go for it again in the present bc they make a really cute couple.
