when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom? I watched Bad Buddy in one week, in late October 2022. I owe it to @airenyah honestly. I think I found their blog through an SPN post and clicked over for that reason. In my scrolling, I happened upon a lovely gifset (wish I could recall who made it) of InkPa. It was the scene where they're outside and Pa says anyone taller than her is fine and hops down off the sidewalk. :) Love that scene. Anyway I reblogged it and in the tags was like WHAT IS THIS I MUST WATCH IT. To which airenyah gave me a whole blessed reply telling me the show name, giving a small synopsis/what to expect from my first thai drama & telling me where I could watch it. I immediately watched the series and adored it. I've seen it twice thus far.

favorite character(s): Okay I adore all the main 4 but I'm gonna go with Pran. I love him. There's just something so soft about him and how on earth do his eyes communicate so much?? I think I relate to his messy little overthinking and silently in love brain—very "me the first time i had a queer crush and simply wallowed the whole time bc it was impossible" lol. Also, he's always making the funniest facial expressions which gets me every time. I could go on about everything I like about his character (for instance how clever yet sometimes oblivious he is & how he gets all annoyed lol). Though I do question his sense of interior design and that smiley face obsession.

favorite episode(s) Honestly I'm not certain if I have one?? It's all so good! I do really like their "whoever falls first loses" era though. Wait actually?? My favorite ep might be the early one where Pat thinks he's hitting on the "girl" across the hall and they end up running into each other on the roof. Also both of the beach episodes.

~ The scene where Pat is staying over and he and Pran are lying in the dark, counting down to say in unison whether they have a crush on Ink. Idk I remember that scene having an emotional impact on me. Pran's face??? Then when Pat asks "would you like me?" and Pran says "I hate you" and then he yanks the blanket away but you saw him crying?? ahhhghrhghgh

~ The scene in the darkroom with Ink and Pa. I remember getting so emotional. Pretty sure Pa's dialogue and acting made me cry. "I do [like you being nice to me]. I like it so much that I thought I was special to you." ARE YOU KIDDING ME ASDFGZ. And then Ink says she is special to her!! And it's so sweet!!

~ OH and how could I forget. This should be at the top of the list. I realllly like the scene where Pran stands up to his mom and they have that emotional fight in their front hall. That whole thing is just. AHHHHHH. AHHH. AHIOFJEIOsdJIO. SIJDGRIOGJRIGJORE

Okay so BBS was the first Thai drama I watched. I was still feeling a lot from the SPN-finale/confession scene era (yes that happened 2 years prior but it's SPN okay iykyk) which had me especially sad about and aware of media censorship etc. etc.

On top of that I was still working up the courage to leave this group chat of childhood friends, some of whom liked to complain about media "making everything gay" etc. (Amazing how you can not know people are homophobic for the entirety of your childhood bc the topic just never comes up lol.) Which was of course upsetting to me for multiple reasons. However the universe decided to do something nice and Heartstopper was released. That series felt really huge to me, but after it was over, I was left with this feeling of like... what else is there to watch? Where else will I ever find a queer ship this canon where they're also the main characters?

That's when I came across BBS and it gave me this realization that OH WAIT we aren't limited to western media and OH LOOK there's so many great shows that I didn't even know about!! And they keep making them! Also it was a queer story where the main obstacle wasn't being gay (Plus, Asian leads!!). And BBS itself is just such a standout show. First of all, I love a good comedy and the series made me laugh so much. It's heartfelt but full of ANTICS [like yes lets have fun! Lets not take everything too seriously!], and Pat & Pran & Ink & Pa are just such wonderful and lovable and real feeling characters—who have this lovely friendship too—and the show is just! Such a fun ride. <3 I recall watching the series and feeling like my world just got a little bit bigger. Anyway Bad Buddy goes all in for everything it does and it's such a joy.

Your post reminds me of the early 2000s when people were speculating on which Disney Channel and Nickelodeon actors were actually together IRL (which is weird enough to speculate on the romantic lives of children) and how crazy the tabloids were in general back then when it came to actors personal/romantic lives.

I think people in Western culture tend to downplay the prevalence of that behavior nowadays because it’s not as front and center as it used to be but it does still happen and a lot of the time it’s still used by studios to promote their shows. Definitely not a phenomenon unique to Asia.

I do think western fans, particularly ones in BL/GL fandoms, are so hyper focused on those fandoms/sub-fandoms they either don't pay attention to what's happening outside of those fandoms or don't know general media history. I don't blame~~ ppl for this fandom is ultimately a hobbyist space first and foremost, but I do think it can lead to damaging assumptions about non-American/British cultures and a prevalent belief that these types of occurrences only happen in BL/GL fandoms which can - and has in my observations - lead to some xenophobic beliefs about East Asian cultures in general.

This is a bigger problem in general of xenophobia when it comes to consuming and/or engaging with non-white/non-american media like this belief that Korean media isn't horny in general isn't just something I see BL fans saying but also ppl who watch romance kdramas b/c that's their main focus, romance kdramas not Korean media in general. Which is vast and varied, and exists beyond Crash Landing Into You, Guardian, Squid Game and Parasite

(sidenote, everyone knows Bong Joon-ho for Parasite but his filmography is varied and amazing, The Host is such a clever subversive of a B monster movie and Snowpiercer is probably one of my fave films of all time and Chris Evans best on screen performance to date)

Like, I see folks saying "shipping" a lot when it comes to fans believing idk Mew and Gulf were irl dating when in my fandom experience that shit was called "tin hatting" b/c it was a conspiracy. There was a fine line difference between ppl who like just enjoyed and liked Dom and Elijah's friendship and wrote silly (even if it was sexy) fanfic about them and the ppl who literally stalked Elijah to a gay bar once b/c they legitimately believed Dom and Elijah were in a secret romance. Like way to much fandom shit, Jared and Jensen also popularized tin hatting or rather their fandom did. J2 crawled so Larries could fucking RUN. Back in the days of LiveJournal there were anon communities that had threads with 1000s of comments about how Jared and Jensen were secretly in a relationship b/c omg look at the way they act at cons! They're so touch-feely! They make innuendo jokes!

We'd call this "fan service" with a Thai acting pair and I would argue that's what Jared and Jensen were doing, fan service just in the early 00s. Idk if they still do this at cons I don't follow SPN anymore but you saw the same comments about like the 1D members. In my experience I would argue western tin hatters of western celebs are worse than what I see from BL fans even with the "fan service" or whatever b/c there's a sense of heightened conspiracy think involved. And again, it's not just for same-sex couples the actors for Outlander have been harassed by tinhats for almost as long as the show has been on (so like 8-ish years). At the height of the popularity for Scandal tin hats were saying Kerry Washington's baby was gonna come out light skinned "proving" it was her white costars (for those who don't know Kerry is a Black woman and her husband is a Black man, her former costar is a white man).

idk where I was going with all this but like, this isn't something specific to Thailand or Korea etc it's not even something specific to same sex pairings. I would argue Thailand's just learned how to monetize off people's already pre-existing lack of boundaries towards public figures.

Hi there, I'm trying to find more fannish discussion and fanworks (fic, art, edits, meta …) in Thai -- I assume it must exist somewhere, and I know some happens on pantip and twitter (plus fic on readawrite), but I am having a hard time figuring out what else there is … So I was wondering whether you had any pointers where to look? No, no, it's not weird. But the answer might be a bit disappointing.😅

For Thai series fans, there isn't much more than what you already know.

There is Facebook, where, in my opinion, some similar but fewer activities than those on Twitter happen.

You can find edits on YouTube and TikTok.

And for fic, ธัญวลัย and Dek-d also have some on them.

But most RPF "fanfic" in Thai isn't really fanfic. And Thai writers in Thai series fandom's work are mostly that. It's basically a whole new story that, for some reason, writers still call fanfic. Most of them will be tagged as actor/actor but have nothing to do with them other than the tag, not even the character's name, which is quite a weird thing to do in my opinion.

what are your thoughts on writing thai bl actor rpf? sometimes i got storyline in my heads with their faces but ooc (ex: nat as a spoiled rich kid, boss as an assasin...etc) and idk if it even counts as fanfic or just an original story with a dream cast? not to mention i want to post it for other fans to read but then i'm afraid it will reach said actors and make them uncomfortable...

My stance, in all things, is write whatever you'd like. That's always going to be my position.

As for reaching the actors and making them uncomfortable, you'll never know if that's true or not, and honestly, I'm betting anyone who would be ick'd by it isn't looking at their own fanfic to find stuff to be ick'd about anyways. They'll literally never know you wrote it.

And in that same vein, I've seen tons of mentions about shows where the author has flat-out said "This is who I imagined when writing this story". I think the author behind Next Prince even said she wrote it about ZeeNuNew. So... ya' know?

My personal feeling though... I'll put it below a cut, read it if you'd like, but again, I always say write what you like. Write what you personally would enjoy reading.

I am severely uncomfortable with any fanfic about real people in any form (roleplay or other). It bothers me, and I won't go near it (though, to be fair, I don't read fanfiction at all because I don't like it (yet I write it, IDK, it's a complex spiral of self-loathing)).

The main thing for me is that I've seen fandoms completely destroyed because more and more and more fans detatch from reality. They become mean and stupid when something they read in a fanfiction isn't real. This goes for any fandom, btw, it's even happened in book-based fandoms I'm part of.

So personally, I really hate role-play stuff or fics about real people. It gives me serious ick.

But again- I don't read fanfiction, and I'm just a random internet person. My personal opinion on this should not flavor what you do. Write what you want to write.

Once upon a time, I wrote a fic people kept telling me no one had any appetite for and no one would want to read. It got over 300,000 reads, over 200 comments (not a single negative one!), and became legendary in that fandom.

So that's why I always say just write what you want to write. Write something you'd enjoy reading, and you'll find there are probably a lot of people of the same mind.

Final Kinnporsche Review

So in trying to figure out how to approach writing an actual Kinnporsche review, I ended up having to make a list of positives and negatives because I couldn’t figure out how else to approach it.  I’m also keeping this as non-spoilery as possible.

It’s not a show I can praise wholeheartedly without also tempering it with some criticism.  It’s not a show I recommend without caveats.  It is, however, a show I really have enjoyed watching and which I love in many respects.  I’m going to pretty immediately watch it again, and I watched most episodes twice while it was airing.  Plus I’m planning to read the novel on which it was based.

So obviously, I like it. 

But let’s run through my pros and cons.  Gonna start with the cons and then linger on the pros.  These are all, of course, my opinion and I know some people don’t have the same experience of this show as me which is totally valid.  It really depends where your threshold/attitude is towards certain things in your media and everyone is different.

Negatives:

I spoke about this in my initial post about the show, but early on and occasionally throughout, the show has some cringey and embarrassment-based humor.  Especially in episode 2, which is basically ENTIRELY that.  There are a number of scenes in this show I have watched mostly through my hands because I can’t handle second hand embarrassment. 

The setting/premise of the show is not very believable.  The mafia family with a skyscraper full of young, hot bodyguards and James Bond style tech requires a good amount of suspension of disbelief to buy into.  In general the plot and action scenes require you watch with a lot of suspension of disbelief.  This isn’t realistic drama TV, it’s fanfic level mafia AU that runs entirely on Rule of Cool.

The way the plot is handled/shot/edited/written is uneven and has some very sloppy moments.  Some episodes are perfect and tight and others are a hot mess IMO.  There’s a lot of them cutting and you going “wait, what? what happened, where are we, did I miss something?”  Most of the time, the scene you find yourself in is fun and sometimes delightful and therefore you don’t actually care how you got to it.  But it still...rankles, and shows the inexperience of much of the team behind the show.

I can’t speak very well to how this compares to other BL dramas or Thai dramas, but there’s a good amount of cheesy fan service that shows off the bodies of the actors.  I’m not talking about specifically sex scenes or romance scenes, but everyone having their shirts unbuttoned practically to their waists, removing clothes for little reason, etc.  You get used to it as like...background levels of fan services and certainly the eye candy is very nice but...it could turn some people off (and others on I’m sure).

This is almost a World Without Women, as tends to be a problem with BL content.  This really feels like a world where women somehow don’t exist and most men are just queer by default.  There are a couple of mother figures, literal and figurative, but they are rarely on screen.  It would feel a little less weird if, like, IDK any of the men of the family had a female significant other who wasn’t dead.

There are elements of dubious consent in both the kinnporsche and vegaspete (and actually almost kimchay) ships.  There’s one scene of basically sexual assault that IMO is well-handled in the aftermath, but it IS between two people who go on to be in a relationship/fall in love.  There’s also a lot of violence, on-screen torture, and one ship where one of them tortures the other and keeps him as a prisoner before falling for him.   So...there are elements you could say are problematic and/or toxic.  If you are sensitive to these things/themes you should stay away.  BUT I do think the way all of them is handled is SUPER INTERESTING and appealing to me personally.  I love some redemption narratives and complicated characters and relationships.

Which brings me to the Positives.

One of my general complaints about a lot of BL dramas is that they involve young characters in high school or university.  Kinnporsche is lovely in that regard because the characters/actors are mid-late 20s and the plot is way more interesting that just school drama.

The acting level of this show is EXCELLENT pretty much across the board.  Every once in a while a side character has bad line delivery or a particular scene twigs my bad acting nerve, but overall I’m INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with the cast.  Especially since this is the first job for some of them.  (I have a Real Problem with bad acting that ties into my embarrassment squick so this is a concern with small productions.)

But really Mile, Apo, Bible, Build...they all fucking killed it and conveyed such a range of content.  But especially the super emotional scenes were so fucking good.  (I’m especially impressed with Apo and Bible...damn.)

The filming is very aesthetic, pleasant, and fun to watch.  Despite the obvious low budget which occasionally shows in things like the rare CGI, the cinematography is impressive.  The show loves to show it off, too, with the colored lighting and camera angles, but it never feels too much and makes it a LOT more visually interesting than pretty much any other BL I’ve seen images of.  (And a lot of regular TV, especially romance-focused shows.)

I started talking above about the complicated characters, and this is where the show SHINES.  The characters feel complex and realistic, and have believable development across the series, which of course the acting level shows off.  But also the relationships have ARCS, really huge amounts of development. 

Kinnporsche especially, since that’s the focus of the show.  It’s really a sorta enemies to lovers situation and there’s a lot of stops along the way, although they really sort themselves out by a little over halfway through the show. 

Vegaspete is the secondary ship and it doesn’t get started until close to the end of the season but they do SO MUCH with a few episodes.  I wish it had had a little more time, but I get why it happened that way.  This is even MORE of enemies to lovers with one of them being a main antagonist to boot.  I was expecting to HATE this ship and they...ended up being possibly my faves.

The third ship is Kim/Chay and it’s a really side story kind of thing.  It doesn’t really get the development of the others but it has cute moments and is more of hints for the future/possibly S2.

But all the pairs have SUPER good chemistry.  Like, wow, okay.  That intimacy coaching worked I guess.

Speaking of which, let’s talk Sex Scenes.  This is going to sound a certain way, but my very favorite thing about this show is the sex scenes.  Because I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen better sex on screen.  Most sex scenes on film are cringey and awkward or uncomfortable looking.  But Kinnporsche manages to make them hot, sexy, beautiful, and also to have a lot of relevance to the characters and the relationships.  The sex scenes are meaningful and tell a story.  They have significance in the overall story.  The emotions on the characters faces is just as important as their bodies or even more so.  These sex scenes feel ACTUALLY INTIMATE and that’s VERY RARE.

And they are super explicit.  The extended version of the show is 21+ and yeah...this is definitely adults only content.  But mostly because they don’t shy away from the realities of what is happening.  Like, yeah, you know what sex act is occurring and it’s not all penetration.  I’m going to stop talking about the sex now because I’m probably going to do a post all about that.  I have a lot of feelings about it, as someone very concerned with the portrayal of sex and sex positivity.  But finally the last thing I’ll say is that if you’ve ever wanted to see good fanfic sex scenes on screen, this is the closest thing I’ve ever seen.

The show is very queer.  As I mentioned above, pretty much everyone in the show is casually queer as if that’s just the default.  Now that’s sorta because it’s in weird BL land, but also...something about the representation feels like there have been queer hands on it.  Now, I can’t obviously speak to the sexual or gender identities of anyone involved with the show.  I’m not pointing to anyone in particular with this.  But the way that there’s no homophobia onscreen, the way everyone just accepts “you love who you love”, the way there’s no gay panic, the way there’s a variation of the way gender is presented, with men of a wide range of feminine traits on display, the gnc characters... it’s a thing.

I was originally VERY on guard about the representation in this show, especially when it came to stereotypes, but then the show just sorta kept not doing the stereotypical thing and exceeding my expectations. 

Finally, the show is fun.  The tone bounces all over the damn place enough to give you emotional whiplash, but it’s almost always a fun ride if you just relax and shrug and go along with it.  The entire ensemble will win your heart and make you fond of them and ultimately you just have to root for this crazy, bizarre, unique little show that could.

Where to watch:  As far as I know, right now the only way to watch the show legally is with iQiyi VIP.  There may be some episodes up on YouTube but I think they are only the edited versions?  You want the extended ones, trust me.

However if you cannot access it through official channels for some reason, a quick search will find it elsewhere.  (I include this because usually I get a crapton of comments about how to watch a series.  So please...search engine folks.)

Ok a non singing BL ask, it’s about the latest episode of Not Me so spoilers if you haven’t seen it. ********************** so GramBlack seems officially sank and it’s caused discussion about queer erasure. I wanted to get your thoughts/perspective on it. I did think the narrative was indicting Gram and Black had a close relationship and then after Black woke up it seemed like the plot was working overtime to keep them separate. And now Gram was in love with Eugene the whole time. Some people are saying Gram could still be queer even if he’s in a m/f relationship which I of course know is true but I think it’s moving the goal post wrt queer erasure. The narrative gave us a lot of scenes supporting GramBlack imo, because as far as I recall no one has called Eugene “Gene” so the GB dolls referring to her and not Gram seems like a big misdirection or just clumsy execution. Yes, there are plenty of other queer ships and plots in Not Me but it does seem that this one thread, GramBlack, was changed midway or poorly set up. Your thoughts?

On the other hand, did they think maybe fans would be mad if Gun was depicted with a different partner? Likely

Some reasons not to be mad:

1. GMMTV rarely (if ever) gives us 3 BL couples in one series. So there is no real president from them to do this.

2. They are vested in OffGun as their last standing OG pair. (TayNew seem basically retired at this point.)

3. Good representations of non-sexualized masculine queer friendships on screen, especially when one or both are queer? VERY VERY IMPORTANT. As important as good representations of male/female straight friendships. And as rare, if not rarer.

It's pretty darn vital that being gay not be conflated with being attracted to or pursued by every other dude in the show. It's real important to portray humans being friends with the gender (or genders) that they are attracted to. Otherwise this can tie into predatory gay (or predatory queer) or bisexual = slut stereotypes.

It could be argued that GramBlack NOT being Gram Black is actually more important to queerness. So let's put the queer erasure bullpucky to bed shall we? I'm sorry if someones out there are but-hurt (pun intended) that their ship didn't sail but no one was attacking anyone's identity with this. At worse it was careless storytelling.

This is why AO3 exists. Seek ye some fanfic.

Also, even if Gram and Black are both straight, two men unafraid of physical contact with each other in this age where toxic masculinity probubly in part is the fault of culture (and international) touch shaming and touch starvation? SUPER FUCKING IMPORTANT. (You want more of this, it's in my skinship post.)

Gram’s queerness:

Okay so here’s what the narrative told us: he has an ex who is third gender. In our language (in most non-Thai translations) she would be a she/her and as a trans woman if Gram dated her in modern queer parlance then he was dating a woman. That makes him straight by outside observation.

Gram then has a crush on a cis girl.

What’s actually been decided for his character with this dating history is technically straightness. However, he says he signs the petition and something about the way he talks with his ex implies that he enjoyed dating her in part for her identity which means he probably does identify as queer. Also, boy can do and call himself what he likes regardless of his dating history.

Still, that doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to sleep with or date boys, tho. Perhaps he's into the feminine in general.

Final thoughts on GramBlack?

Clearly the fandom wanted it a lot more than the director or GMMTV did. That's pretty much all we can say.

However, what this probubly did was tell GMMTV something interesting, if they were paying attention to it (and they usually are):

Viewers are willing to see Gun with other pairings. And THAT could get interesting in the future.

Personally I've always wanted him to do a BL with Tay that pulls on their existing personalities: puppy/puppy, sunshine/sunshine is a pairing we never get in BL.

(Incidentally, Gun has been partnered with others pre GMMTV. You'll need to track down: The Blue Hour, Love Love You, and there's another one set in a cafe I can't remember the name of pre 2016.)

At this point, I don’t see myself ever writing more for YOI (unless I get a sudden urge to write for them again). So whatever YOI drabbles I have stored left are pretty precious, and will only be released in exchange if someone writes me a Drarry fic and asks for a YOI story back….sorry! 😓

But after reviewing my YOI fart fics, about half of them are pretty lame if I do say so myself. So here’s one that I’ll post because I’d feel bad if someone wrote me a fic and I gave them this pathetic drabble in exchange.

The Common Fart

The Common Fart - This fart needs little description. It is to the world of farts what the house sparrow is to the world of birds.

*Actually, the farting here isn't as….detailed or graphic as compared to my other stories. I just wanted to write something light and not so kinky this time. So I guess the common fart was perfect for this.

Being roommates and best friends for as long as they had been, Yuuri and Phichit can honestly say that they've been through pretty much EVERYTHING together.

Or the time Phichit managed to convince Yuuri that they should take on the challenge of eating the Eagle Cafe's Tower Burger because he had faith that they could totally do it (They couldn't).

Or the time Phichit managed to get his hamster nominated for student council president and Pad Thai (his hamster's name) actually came in second.

Or the time when Yuuri got drunk and was the reason why Pad Thai got nominated and became runner up in the first place.

Yes, Yuuri got into a lot of trouble when he got drunk (which really, wasn't all that often). But it was all Phichit's fault since the Thai had swore to him that he would make sure that Yuuri wouldn't get into any 'serious' trouble.

So the friends been through so much together that nothing really fazes them anymore.

If one of them forgot their money, the other would gladly lend them some money with a promise for the other to join him in attending another party that night.

If one of them had their heart broken, the other would make sure to wait at the asshole's dorm room with pepper spray in one hand and a baseball bat in the other.

If one of them farted in front of the other, the other would also let out a fart and they would just laugh about it together.

These two lovable idiots were the best of friends, and Yuuri and Phichit would never change anything between them.

So, some people might be wondering why I reblog stuff talking about how ‘pedophile’ as an accusation on tumblr/twitter/etc is almost always bullshit. Like, what have I got to hide?!

But I’ve been on this website since I was 16. I took a year and a half break back in 2018, but basically, I’ve been here long enough to SEE SOME SHIT. And experience some shit, for that matter.

I made the mistake of getting hardcore into SJ culture, where cruelty and harassing people for minor infractions was the norm. As an example, at one point I had two separate call out posts going around about me at the same time, one because used ‘trans*’ on a post, and one because I had used ‘trans’ on another post. I can’t even remember what the fucking beef was against the star or against not using the star, it doesn’t matter. Whatever it was, people decided I needed to get hate mail because I’d done a Bad.

Previous to that, as a naive 17 year old branching out into social media, I’d made a post on my Wordpress about getting touched up at a job interview for an Italian restaurant in which I’d said I hadn’t noticed his behaviour was getting inappropriate because I’d been to a lot of Italian or Spanish restaurants in which slightly flirty managers/waiters were the norm and getting called ‘beautiful’ or ‘darling’ or whatever was just something I sort of expected in that sort of environment. I had like 20 twitter followers at that point, almost entirely childfree or abortion rights themed accounts, and twitter existed mostly as a way to promote my wordpress blog. I made a naive comment a few weeks later on twitter about how sad it was that the LGB community could be cruel to the T because people who’ve been treated like shit should know what that feels like. The punishment for that ‘crime’ was that a woman in her 40s with a degree of internet clout in the SJ world rallied her followers against me, and next thing I know I had people @ing me in tweets about how I deserved to get sexually assaulted because I was an anti Latino racist.

Those two are far from the only hellish encounters I had, and I’m sorry to say thay when I dug down into the SJ bunker I took part in witch hunts with equal ferocity because that’s just the culture in those circles. As I started coming out the other side of all that, I started paying attention and seeing people getting chased off the internet/doxxed/reported to the police for all sorts of bullshit, real or false. Prime example is the woman who lost her position working with animals because someone ran a hate campaign claiming she was into beastiality. Or the Jewish queer woman who started getting called a pedophile around the same time she did a fundraiser for a holocaust memorial museum because she’d drawn shippy homestuck stuff and said that it was possible to find a 16 year old attractive because you know, secondary sexual characteristics and all that, but that in no way gave you the right to act on it.

Again, those two are far from the only time I’ve seen ‘pedophile’ thrown around and the people that use that word make no secret of the fact that they think adult kinksters into age play, and fanfic writers and fan artists who do ‘bad’ ships are total pedophiles. I was once told that the 40 year old I banged when I was 25 was a pedophile, for example. Or that finding an adult woman with small breasts attractive makes someone a pedophile.

Incidentally I also have a major beef with pearl-clutching over age gap relationships because my own life just flat out does not fit the ‘women under 25 are precious and weak uwu and men over 25 are predators with power’ framing, and neither does a lot of other people’s lives, but that’s another rant for another time.

And all of this ties into the rising tide of people accusing AO3 of being pro rape and of people refusing to curate their own fan experience in favour of demanding everyone else only produce what they personally enjoy. And I shouldn’t need to tell you why that’s fucked.

So yeah, I flat out do not trust accusations of pedophila on this website and neither should you. And if someone is legit into abusing children and dumb enough to be posting actual child pornography (eg, with real people getting hurt in it rather than cartoons) on the real internet rather than on the dark web, report them to the damn police.

Like I've read a lot of bios and made research about the Hamiltons as well but JEEZ you're just TOO DAMN GOOD! And your writting style? I mean, THE TALENT THAT YOU HAVE! As for how I learned about all of the details about Hamilton, years of obsessive study have paid off I suppose :) I took literature courses in college, but I think my style developed more from just reading all the time. My tumblr and AO3 accounts are where I’m most active--I hardly ever post on twitter or instagram.
