hi!! just coming into your inbox because i saw you posted about the show ramy & i also loved it & have nobody to talk to about it. i know ramy youssef said he might make a season 4 but it's not official and i can't stop thinking about what a season 4 would be...fatherhood? but also he still owes a bajillion dollars due to that diamond piece he lost, right? idk. i welcome any and all thoughts <3

Hey dudette! Thanks for the follow, I'm in a pretty similar position so I feel you lol. The girl who introduced me to the show was a girl from a dating app and we don't really talk anymore so I don't have a lot of people to talk about it to either, thanks for hitting me up!

If the series ended where it left off, I'd be down with that, but I also can't deny I'm curious as to where the Hassan family + their friends end up after the third season. Putting my theories under read more cus it's a lot.

Here's what I'm thinking: it takes a really long time for Zainab to come around, but by the last 1-3 episodes she kind of accepts that Ramy is the father of her kid and she can't deny that, nor take that away from her daughter, and she can only come to this conclusion after a lot of time spent as a single mother (which comes with pros and cons) and a lot material proof that Ramy is a changed man; yeah he's still got his vices and flaws, but we all do, and he's not fucking his cousin or doing deals for the Israel mob anymore and he's finally found a nice balance between being a peaceful, average American millennial and being the firstborn son of an immigrant, which is definitely not an easy pattern to break.

Dena gets married, for sure, but the majority of her character still revolves around her studies and her career. There's scenes where her fiancé (I forget his name) gently drags her away from her studies to go on cute little dates or to remind her to eat dinner or to take her to diners for breakfast and catch up and pray and all, flirting with her over text and calling her on Facetime every now and then and linking up on weekends and vice versa, and it's established pretty well that he has a life of his own and is doing pretty well with his roommates and stuff. He and Dena get married a little after she passes the bar.

Farouk and Maysa have to sell the house, and it's super bittersweet. Ramy and Dena help them move all their stuff into this cute little 2 bedroom apartment, the second room doubling as a guest room and as a room for when one needs space from the other. It's weird not having the kids around and it's a little closer to the city than they like, but it's got a lot of perks too. Maysa can drive for Lyft and make friends easier cus everything is Right There, Farouk actually finds his rhythm as a con man, which complicates things a little but also, we all know he's a good and smart guy and would eventually know the law well enough to skirt around it, so it's a start. Their marriage improves a lot too cus they're finally humble enough to talk to each other about real shit.

Uncle Naseem doesn't accept being gay fully till like, the last three episodes. Post retirement of course. Ramy finds some old love letters while helping him clean and move the rest of Naseem's shit from Jeweler's Row and just smiles and nods to himself, dropping aforementioned shit off at his apartment with nothing but a little extra bundle of cash; both as a way of saying "sorry about the bullshit" and "don't explain; I know." and it's cool. As a cherry on top, he might have even made up with that guy at the gym, or he might have found a new guy.

Shadi should meet up with Steve at some point and get into the DJ scene proper; it's hard for him when Farouk and Maysa have to move into a smaller apartment without him, but he finds a decent and diverse group of rave bros during a set one night and it saves him from having to spend the rest of his time in the U.S. on the street. He falls for a cute black hippie chick during one of his sets, and they move in together. It's a little small and cramped but he has her and her cat has already fallen in love with him so how can he have any more reserves? This is just where god wants him to be,

I can't speak for any of the minor characters, or the cousin that Ramy stopped fucking, but yeah. This is my take. If you wanna talk more, feel free to DM!

thoughts on what type of dessert is best?

do you know the part of gilmore girls when luke brings lorelai brownies because he accidentally dropped triple the amount of cocoa powder in the batter and couldn’t think of anyone else who would enjoy them? 

that’s me. 

my ideal dessert is in a lot of cases anything with chocolate, the darker and more intense the better. double chocolate cookies > regular chocolate chip cookies, brownies with extra melty chips in > standard brownies, etc. but strawberry ice cream is always good, too, and i do love a good white confetti cake? 

basically the only dessert i’m opposed to is anything that combines fruit with chocolate, anything with mint in because it all tastes like toothpaste to me, and pie unless it has a chocolate cookie crust. 

i think dessert is very dependent on individual preferences and i support everybody else’s ideal. but those above are mine. :)

How did you get Sherlock to marry you? Sorry, that wasn't right, I'll try again: um, we all expected Sherlock to stay married to his first wife, the work: did he get a divorce or are y'all polyamorous or what? Because he was always so standoffish with everyone with Mrs. Hudson when it comes to sentiment and I just couldn't see him ever, you know... um, well, can you tell us a bit about that?

Hah, wow, that’s, um, that’s quite a difficult question! I think you might want to as him about that since I’m still not quite sure what I did.

But, um, right, well, I helped him even after the Fall, during the three years that he was supposed to be dead. I gave him a place to stay and eat if he needed it and did whatever I could to help him while he… um, took… care of some things. I left London for a few weeks to give him messages when Mycroft couldn’t and more or less help watch out for him. It wasn’t the safest, but Sherlock’s plans went smoothly (as far as I know, at least, we don’t talk about it) and I at least didn’t have any trouble.

We spent more time with one another and somewhere along the lines I guess he sort of started to like me. We got closer and learned to better understand one another. By the time everything was sorted and he was able to return home, we— we were smitten!

I don’t keep Sherlock away from his work, though, if I can help it. And I’ll admit I am a bit jealous sometimes. Casework is important to him, it’s what keeps his mind going and that’s what he needs. Besides, the extra income does help what with another mouth to feed.

DON/SLOAN IS SO SO GOOD

literally all i remember about the newsroom is that sloan was my absolute fave and don/sloan was a total left-field otp for me.

i haven’t seen it since s2 originally came out, and i know that when my spouse and i gave up watching it in the middle of that season, i was growing more annoyed with a whole bunch of storylines as time went on…but not those two. i still feel a vague sense of fondness whenever they cross my dash, so i must have loved them. :)

opinions on people who love holiday things so much they do/have them outside of the appropriate holiday times?

love ‘em!! i fully support this because the world can always use more joy and celebration, so if you want a Birthday Week instead of one day or if (like me) you celebrate Halloween the entire month of October because it’s your favorite holiday of all, i have no objections. 

do i find Christmas music a little annoying when it starts playing in stores before December? yes. but that’s more because of the commercialism than because i hate holiday creep. if a random person were the one playing holiday tunes out of season i wouldn’t be as bothered by it.

favorite color blue? (assumption game)

an excellent assumption!! on the basic color wheel, blue is definitely my preference. but that’s because my actual favorite color is teal, which is rarely a choice in most situations. i don’t like turquoise much, either, just teal–the darker shade between green and blue.

“How much candy do you think we need, exactly?” She stifled a smile as he found a stuffled Niffler in another pocket, shaking his head and putting it back to dig through the next.

“It never hurts to be prepared, Penelope. And I don’t know why you’re looking at me funny. It’s Halloween! You could have dressed up too.” He finally found the other bag of treats and followed her to the kitchen to dump them in a plastic pumpkin. 

“Yes, I could have, if you’d bothered to tell me this was the plan.”

“I dress up every year. What fun is this day if a costume isn’t the plan? Besides, don’t you like it? I can’t wait for the movie.”

“It’s a good choice,” she admitted, running her hands down his striped scarf. “He reminds me of you a little.”

“Is the dashing good looks? The talent?” Schneider paused. “It’s that he’s a Hufflepuff, isn’t it?”

“No, it’s mostly the part where he’s a big nerd.” She grinned and kissed him before leading the way to the couch. “Speaking of movies, come help me pick one out. We probably have a while before the first trick-or-treaters show up.”

Alice aimed a deadly stare at the man who was gripping her forearm. It was the only thing stopping her from pushing past him and entering the hospital room, and if he thought he was going to keep her away from her daughter in the middle of childbirth–well, he would be quickly disabused of that notion.

And his hand, if necessary.

“Hey, Al, ease up.” FP finally caught up to her after handling the paperwork. Not his strong suit, usually she took care of all that, but she wanted to be with Betty and he wanted to hurry things along. He hadn’t expected to find her ready to punch a nurse, but he also wasn’t surprised.

“She’s in the middle of the epidural,” the man protested, looking to FP for backup. “You need to wait until they’re done, and then you are more than welcome to join your daughter in the birthing suite.”

Alice glared at him, but nodded curtly and stepped back from the door to pace the hall until it was time.

FP watched her go with a grin, shrugging when he caught the nurse gawking at the proud look on his face. “That’s my lady, right there. And that’s our future grandbaby.”
